Sea of Galilee

Pilgrims who visit the Galilee region have the opportunity to imagine what life was like 2,000 years ago and what Jesus and the twelve disciples experienced while fishing on the Sea of Galilee. The peaceful setting and the natural wonders of the Golan Heights to the east and Mt. Arbel to the west make for a great way to start your morning in quiet reflection. During our tour, we explore the Biblical towns of Capernaum, Magdala, and Nazareth and take a meaningful cruise on the Sea of Galilee.

The Dead Sea is not only the lowest and most lifeless lake in the world, but also nearly 10 times saltier than the ocean. Travelers will enjoy the beautiful colors of the blue water and the red mountains of Jordan to the east. Garden Tomb

Our visit to the Garden Tomb and its surrounding gardens is normally one of the highlights of our tour to Israel. The Garden Tomb is a rock-cut tomb in Jerusalem that was unearthed in 1867 and is considered by some Protestants to be the site of the burial and resurrection of Jesus. Our visit offers a unique time of prayer, reflection, communion, and praise, which will be a special life-long memory for many travelers.

Jordan River Baptism Site

The Jordan River Baptist Site or “Yardenit” is a baptism site located along the Jordan River just south of the Sea of Galilee in northern Israel. This site is frequented by Christian Pilgrims who enjoy imagining the setting of the baptism of Jesus. For anyone who would like to be baptized in the Jordan River, Yardenit has been developed to be a peaceful setting with beautiful gardens, clean colored water, changing facilities, showers, and a nice souvenir shop.

Caesarea Philippi

To many Pilgrim travelers, Caesarea Philippi is a special surprise while on their tour. Located along the rushing springs of Mt. How many days do you need for a Holy Land tour?

This is our shortest trip at just 9 or 10 days. Our most involved trips allow you to experience a wide range of historical locations over the course of a few weeks. Egypt tours are included in some of these packages, as well as tours in Greece and other countries. These tours can take up to 24 days, giving you the chance to spend an extended period of time learning about and visiting different parts of the world. What is the dress code in Israel?

The dress code in Israel is different from other parts of the world. There are a few dress code basics you should understand before booking Israel tours: When you’re in Israel, there is no strict dress code. You can wear what you feel comfortable wearing. However, both men and women should try to dress conservatively and cover their shoulders and knees when visiting any of the religious sites throughout Israel. Generally speaking, it’s best to avoid tank tops and shorts. Men need to cover their heads when visiting the Western Wall. Pilgrim Tours provides a Pilgrim Tours ball cap upon arrival in Israel, but you might consider purchasing an affordable kippa that you can bring when you visit Jewish sites. Some places may offer a free kippa, but these are generally low quality. (Women are not required to cover their heads at any sight.) Is there a lot of walking involved on an Israel Tour?

• Delhi - Haridwar: Arrival to Delhi pickup from Delhi airport drive to Haridwar. On arrival check in to hotel, dinner overnight stay in Haridwar.
• Haridwar - Barkot: Checkout from hotel after breakfast and proceed to Barkot. Evening arrival to Barkot check in at hotel. Dinner overnight stay at Barkot.

• Barkot – Janki Chatti – Yamunotri – Jankichatti – Barkot (40 + 40 Kms drive / 6 + 6 Trekking Approx) : Early morning drive to Janki Chatti to visit Yamunotri Temple. On arrival to Janki Chatti the base point of Yamunotri, book Pony & Palki services from here (own cost). Trekking is an option if your fitness level allows you. Arrival to Yamunotri visit the holy temple of Goddess Yamuna, Natural hot water springs around the temple are main attraction for pilgrims. After the pooja / darshan return journey to Janki Chatti and drive back to Barkot for overnight stay.

• Uttarkashi – Gangotri –Uttarkashi (100 + 100 Kms Approx) : Early Morning 5 am proceed to visit Gangotri Temple (Breakfast packed). Along with Bhagirathi River the journey of Gangotri becomes a wonderful journey. Beautiful valleys, small rivers, waterfalls local villages, worth to visit over here. On arrival to Gangotri Temple (3050m) visit the holy temple of Goddess Ganga, pooja / darshan. After the visit over return journey to Uttarkashi for overnight stay.
• Uttarkashi – Guptkashi / Sitapur (250 – 290 / Kms Approx): Early morning breakfast. Followed by check out from hotel and proceed to Guptkashi / Sitapur. Evening arrival to Guptkashi / Sitapur transfer to hotel, after dinner overnight stay.
• Kedarnath – Gaurikund - Sitapur / Guptkashi One Side Trek 16 Kms / Driving 35 Kms Approx : Early morning at 5:00 am visit the Kedarnath temple for Pooja/Darshan/ Abhishek. Amongst the 12th Jyotirlinga of Lord Shiva 11th is situated in Kedarnath. The ancient temple of Kedarnath was built by Pandavas and renovated by Jagat Guru Shankaracharya in 7th century. • Badrinath –Rudraprayag : Early morning 4 am, visit Badrinath Temple for Abhishek/ Alankar darshan. The present holy temple of Badrinath was built by Adi Guru Shankaracharya during 7th century. Before the visit of Badrinath temple one must take a holy dip inside “Taptkunda” a natural hot water spring situated outside the temple. Day 2: Amman - Mt. Nebo- Nazareth – Cana

Breakfast & Check out.

Proceed to Mount Nebo : The trip south of Amman along the 5,000 years old King’s Highway is one of the most memorable journeys in the Holy Land, passing through a string of ancient sites of Jordan, the memorial of Moses, and the presumed site of the prophet's death and burial place.

From a platform in front of the church one can enjoy a breathtaking view across the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea.

Proceed to Sheik Hussein Bridge to cross the border (02 Hrs 30 min). Complete the customs & emigration formalities. Enter into Israel.

Visit Nazareth the boyhood town of Jesus and home of Mary and Joseph and visit the Basilica of the Annunciation built over the grotto where Archangel Gabriel appeared to announce that she would bear a son, Jesus & Mary’s well.

We also stop by Joseph's workshop.

Visit Cana where Jesus performed his first Miracle, changing water into wine at the wedding feast.

Dinner & Overnight at hotel in Nazareth/ Tiberias.

Day 3: Sea of Galilee - Capernaum–Jordan River

After Breakfast, Visit Mount Tabor.

Visit Capernaum - the centre of Jesus' ministry after he left Nazareth we stop at Tabgha - the Church of the Multiplication of the Five Loaves and Two Fishes and the expressive church of the Beatitudes, where Jesus gave the Sermon on the Mount.

This morning we drive through the landscapes of Galilee and later for a ride in a replica of a Galilean fishing boat of that time, on the Sea of Galilee and where Jesus calmed the storm and walked on the water.

We make a stop at St. Peter's house, the Church of Primacy of Peter and the place where Jesus bestowed St. Peter with his authority.

This is believed to be the place where Jesus dined with his disciples, the flat rock known as Mensa Christy, Chris's table to commemorate this event.

Visit Yardenit on the Jordan River, the traditional Baptismal site.

Proceed to Bethlehem.

Free time for shopping. Later Check in hotel.

Dinner. Overnight at hotel in Bethlehem.

Day 4: Old City of Jerusalem–Golgotha–Wailing Wall - Jericho - Dead Sea

After Breakfast. Then proceed to the pools of BeitHasda, where Jesus held the crippled man.

And from there we take the Via Dolorosa (Way of Grief), traditionally accepted as the last route trodden by Jesus. Follow the 14 Stations of the Cross to Golgotha, the place where Jesus was crucified marking significant events along the route.

You will see the Pilate's Judgments Hall, the Chapel of the Flagellation where according to tradition, the Roman soldiers scourged Jesus and placed a crown of thorns on His head the Ecce Homo Arch and the Convent of the Sisters of Zion.

Early tradition held that Pontius Pilate stood here and thundered "Ecce Homo!" Which means "Behold the man?" Which is what Pilate said when he presented Jesus to the crowd.

However, we now know that pagan Emperor Hadrian constructed the arch. Below the Convent are the Lithotrities where Jesus was publicly tried and where the Roman soldiers mocked him.

The last 5 Stations of the Cross are inside the Church of the Holy Sepulcher visible from the distance with two silver domes. Also "The Tomb" widely believed to be the part of the stone that covered Jesus Tomb.

Visit the Cenacle – Last Supper Room, the tomb of King David and – (the other upper room).

Proceed to Jericho where we stop visit the Sycamore Tree it is also the place where Jesus stopped on this way to Jerusalem, on the Eve of the Passover and were Jesus cured the blind man during his stay at Zachaeus house. Lunch.

Proceed to Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth (1305 ft. below sea level), again make a brief stop at a private beach and take the opportunity to float in the salty water, rich in minerals. Proceed to Bethany .

Visit Bethany the Town of Mary, Martha and Lazarus. Visit Lazarus’s Tomb. Then we go to the Wailing Wall, which is the holiest place for the Jewish religion. Back to hotel.

Day 5: EinKarem - Mount of Olives - Gethsemane- Bethlehem

Breakfast... Visit EinKarem, Located on the hills next to a little spring.

This is the city of Judah and Birthplace of John the Baptist, son of Elizabeth & Zechariah. Proceed to Mount of Olives for a panoramic view of Jerusalem.

Visit sanctuaries of Pater Nester Ascension. Walk along the Palm Sunday road down to the chapel of Dorminos Flevit where Jesus wept over eminent destruction of Jerusalem and Garden of Gethsemane.

Where Jesus prayed while Judah betrayed him to the Romans. Visit the Basilica of agony and Tomb of St. Mary. We also will visit the Church of St. Peter of Gallicantu, which symbolizes Peter's Denial of Jesus as he has prophesied at the Last Supper and then visit the traditional house of high priest, Caiaphas, where Jesus was imprisoned.

Then proceed to Bethlehem to visit the shepherd’s field, which is located in the Judah province. It was here that the Angel announced the birth of Jesus to the shepherds of Bethlehem during the reign of King Herod.

Also, here David tended his flocks until he was anointed King of Israel. Lunch.

We then visit the Church of Nativity - the birthplace of Jesus and the City of David, Manager Square; Crusaders Cloister Grotto of St. Jerome.

Then we visit Milk Grotto. Dinner and Overnight at hotel in Bethlehem.

Day 6: Bethlehem - Taba

After breakfast, Check-out Hotel.

Proceed to Taba. (5 hours’ drive) Arrive Taba.

Finish the Customs and Emigration formalities at the Israel side.

Enter into Egypt. Complete the emigration and customs formalities.

Check-in hotel.

Lunch at Hotel Restaurant. Free Time.

Dinner and Overnight at hotel in Taba.

Day 7: Taba - Sinai - St.Catherine Monastery - Sharm El Sheikh

Breakfast at hotel. Check-out Hotel.

Then proceed to Sinai. View the beautiful and historical Sinai Mountains. Visit St. Catherine Monastery. Set beneath the mountain where Moses is said to have received the Ten Commandments. Saint Catherine Monastery has been one of the world’s great centers of religious pilgrimage for over fifteen centuries.

Within its imposing walls rests a citadel like no other, incredibly rich in important religious and historical structures. Among its treasures is a library of ancient manuscripts and icons second only to the Vatican's itself, and a 6th century church reputed to lie directly on the site of the Burning Bush.

Quite simply, the monastery is a defining feature of the Holy Land.

Lunch. Proceed to Sharm El Sheikh.

Dinner & Overnight stay in Sharm El Sheikh.

Day 8: Sharm El Sheikh - Cairo

Breakfast. Proceed to Cairo.

On the way to Cairo we cross the famous Suez Canal. Arrive Cairo.

Then Proceed to the old churches of Cairo the oldest in Egypt originally.

Lunch. Then the Visit Pharaonic Village.

Check in at hotel.

Proceed to Cruising on the River Nile.

Dinner on board. Enjoy the Shows on board.

Overnight at hotel in Cairo.

Day 9: Cairo Departure

After Breakfast check out hotel.

Proceed on a visit to Pyramids, The Great Pyramid of Giza (also called the Pyramid of Khufu and the Pyramid of Cheops) is the oldest and largest of the three pyramids in the Giza Necropolis bordering what is now El Giza, Egypt, and in a historical irony is the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World and the only one that survives substantially intact.

Lunch. Visit Papyrus & Perfume Factory.

Proceed to the Cairo Airport for final departure.
