The British & Irish Lions have today released the nine-match schedule for the 2025 Tour to Australia including three Test matches against the Wallabies.

The British & Irish Lions have today released the nine-match schedule for the 2025 Tour to Australia including three Test matches against the Wallabies. Two years out from the Tour, it’s been confirmed that the eagerly awaited Test clashes will take place on 19 July, 26 July and 2 August. The Lions will travel to Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney respectively for the Test matches.

The British & Irish Lions will travel throughout Australia with games taking place in some of the most impressive stadiums in world sport.

The Lions will begin the Tour in Perth against the Western Force before facing fellow Australian Super Rugby Pacific sides, the Queensland Reds, the NSW Waratahs, and the ACT Brumbies. The Lions will continue their preparation for the first Test by facing an invitational Australian and New Zealand team in a clash at the Adelaide Oval.

Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium will host the first Test on Saturday 19 July. Following this, a midweek warm up fixture against Melbourne Rebels will take place at Marvel Stadium on Tuesday 22 July.

The second Test will be played on Saturday 26 July at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), which has a capacity of 100,000. A potential sell-out crowd at the renowned venue would be a record for a British & Irish Lions Test.

This Test would also represent one of the highest attendances at a rugby match in history. The final Test will be played in front of over 80,000 fans at Sydney’s Accor Stadium in Sydney Olympic Park on Saturday 2 August.

A strong partnership and a common goal between The British & Irish Lions, Premiership Rugby and the United Rugby Championship has resulted in the Lions having a two-week preparation period before the Tour commences, giving the Lions the best chance of regaining the Series on Australian soil, a country where they enjoyed their last tour win in 2013. Further detail around pre-tour activities, including a pre-tour warm up fixture, will be announced at a later stage.

Details on the Tour schedule follow the announcement of major commercial partners for the Tour, with The British & Irish Lions recently confirming global rugby brand Canterbury as official kit provider and the global insurance group Howden as official front of shirt/jersey sponsor . Confectionery brand Cadbury’s and sportswear manufacturer Asics will continue as the Wallabies official front of shirt and kit partners.

The 2025 Tour to Australia promises to be one of the most eagerly anticipated tours in history considering the absence of fans for the 2021 Tour of South Africa.

Fancy heading off on the Lions tour ? Well, one thing's for sure – you'll need a big bank balance and a full wallet.

We've broken down the cost of everything, from flights to accommodation, tickets to transfers and the average cost of food and drinks (including a few extra match day beers).

And it's not cheap.

We've included packages - and given you the breakdowns in case you wanted to do it all yourself.

The full price breakdown (for 40 days)

Match tickets: Best available tickets cost around £1,213.19 (total for all matches)

Flights: Around £1,513 (includes internal flights where necessary)

Accommodation: Around £1,837

Airport transfers: Around £200-£300

Food/drink: Total for 40 days - with an average of around £40 a day - £1,600

If you include an extra five beers per match day (priced at around £5.21) that's an extra £260.50, bringing the total to around £1,860.50

Three Test Tours

Lions announce 2024 training camp dates; here's how to get tickets

Ready, set, sunscreen.

The Detroit Lions on Monday announced nine dates that fans can attend 2024 training camp at the team's practice facility in Allen Park, including three that will be exclusive to Lions Loyal members, beginning with "Back Together Weekend" on July 27.

Fans must register for free tickets in advance, according to a release from the team. Registration for the general public begins July 16 via detroitlions.com/trainingcamp, while Lions Loyal members will receive an email with information on claiming tickets via early registration beginning July 9.

At training camp, fans will be able to participate in ticket and merchandise giveaways, take photos with the team mascot, Lions legends, and Lions cheerleaders, and play interactive games and activities. Local food trucks will be on the grounds.

The Lions do not have any joint-practice sessions scheduled in Allen Park. Detroit will travel to take part in joint practices with the Giants in New Jersey in early August.

Official Lions Packages Released at Increased Prices

This morning British Lions Limited released the first set of officially licensed British and Irish Lions tour packages for the UK and Ireland market at markedly increased prices compared to the previous tour.

The basic three test tour packages start from £8,349 per person based on two sharing, with prices for a bells and whistles three test tour reaching up to £23,849 per person.  Flight and ticket only options start from £2,999 per person.

These prices reflect a significant increase on costs from the 2013 British & Irish Lions tour to Australia where Lions fans were asked to pay £6,399 for an equivalent three test tour package, and £2,199 for a flight and ticket only package.

British and Irish Lions chief operating officer Charlie McEwen commented “There is nothing like a Lions tour, they are the pinnacle for any player – and for the fans who come together once every four years under this one banner.”

Detroit Lions' 2024 Training Camp Details Revealed

The  Detroit Lions  have officially announced dates for training camp practices open to the general public. The schedule includes a total of nine dates on which fans will be able to access the Allen Park facility. 

Fans interested in attending must register for a ticket at no cost. Registration begins July 9 for season-ticket members and July 16 for the general public.

During these practices, supporters will get their first look at Detroit's 2024 roster. Free-agent additions like Carlton Davis and Amik Robertson, as well as rookies like Terrion Arnold, will be greeted by the home fans on the practice field for the first time. 

In total, there are three practices exclusive to "Lions loyal members."

Open practices begin Saturday, July 27, for season-ticket members. The August 2nd and 12th practices are also reserved for such fans.

The  Lions  begin the preseason at 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, against the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium. Joint practices against the Giants will take place on the road this year.

Detroit will visit Kansas City on Saturday, Aug. 17, at 4 p.m., before playing its only home preseason game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday, Aug. 24, at 1 p.m.

O n Tuesday, the Detroit Lions announced their 2024 training camp schedule for practices open to the public. There will be a total of nine practices with fans present, three of which are exclusively for season ticket holders AKA “Lions Loyal Members.”
