Trying to plan a fun and interesting trip for you, your civic or church group, garden club, or elementary or middle school class? Individuals and groups small and large (50 person maximum) can visit the beautiful Mississippi State University campus for a guided campus tour, historical tour, children’s tour or one of many other tours, all conducted by our Maroon VIPs.
Tours must be scheduled AT LEAST two weeks in advance. If for some reason you are unable to come at the time/date scheduled please let us know prior to the tour. "No Shows" will not be rescheduled for the current semester.

Campus Tour
This guided tour introduces you to the MSU campus and also includes interesting facts and traditions of Mississippi State University. Allow 30 minutes to 1 hour for this tour. There is no age limit, nor group size limit, however, if the group is larger than 25 it may be divided into smaller groups in order to have a more personalized experience.
Historical Tour
This tour begins at the Welcome Center and involves 17 historic structures or points of interest on campus. Allow 30 minutes for this tour. It is best given as a combined riding and walking tour. Group size is determined by transportation limitations.
Elementary and Middle School Tour
Get ready for a day of interactive activities! From seeing fossils to touring some of our great athletic facilities, this customizable tour is perfect for elementary classes and youth groups alike. Browse through the tours listed below and pick out which tours interest you. Please take careful note of the age, time and size requirements when deciding on your interests. Once you have an idea of the areas you would like to tour contact us so that we can help you plan your fun filled day.
Prospective (Undergraduate and Graduate) Student Tour
The Office of Admissions and Scholarships offers several programs that will allow undergraduate students to visit campus and learn more about becoming a student at Mississippi State University. Business of Music Symposium returns to the 2024 Templeton Ragtime and Jazz Festival

STARKVILLE, Miss.—Mississippi State University Libraries will host the second annual Business of Music Symposium Feb. 21-22 as part of the 18th annual Charles H. Templeton Sr. Ragtime and Jazz Festival, which runs through Feb. 24.
The symposium is a free multidisciplinary gathering which will have both in-person and virtual presentations encouraging research at the Charles H. Templeton Sr. Music Museum, boasting approximately 20,000 pieces of sheet music, 200 instruments, 2,000 cylinders and 14,000 flat discs. Topics will range from the careers of individual singers, composers and people otherwise involved in creating music, art and design themes to teaching with sheet music and more.
The Charles Templeton Sr. Ragtime and Jazz Festival is sponsored by the MSU Libraries and the Charles Templeton Sr. Music Museum as a means of enhancing the research of ragtime music, increasing awareness of the Templeton collection and introducing people to the sounds of ragtime being performed by world-renowned ragtime musicians.
The festival is comprised of a blend of major concerts, miniconcerts, seminars and museum tours. For more information, visit http://festival.library.msstate.edu .
