Where : Pacific Coliseum, 100 N Renfrew St.

Tickets and info : Feb. 13, 11 a.m. at Ticketleader.ca

Rage Against the Machine is hitting the road on its Public Service Announcement tour. It’s the first time that the L.A. quartet formed in 1991 has toured together since 2011. The band reported its second reunion in November 2019, with two appearances at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and other limited engagements.

The seven-month tour begins March 26 in El Paso, Texas, and ends on Sept. 12 in Vienna, Austria. Tickets for the May 1 Vancouver date go on sale on Feb. 13 at 11 a.m. at Ticketleader.ca .

News of a tour by singer Zack de la Rocha, guitarist Tom Morello, bassist Tim Commerford and drummer Brad Wilk had been rumoured in November last year. The band denied this was the case.

In keeping with RATM’s long association with progressive charities and activist organizations, the tour will include multiple initiatives  including ticketing, volunteer and band donations.

The band has announced that 100 per cent of all proceeds from the El Paso, Las Cruces, New Mexico, and Phoenix, Ariz., concerts will go to immigrant rights. Texas, Arizona and New Mexico are all states with large Hispanic populations and are on the front lines of the border wall debate.

Opening act for the majority of the tour dates is rap duo Run the Jewels. The duo of El-P and Killer Mike has a new album due in 2020, continuing its string of critically acclaimed releases.

Rage Against the Machine Reschedule Reunion Tour for 2021

  • By Daniel Kreps

Daniel Kreps

After initially postponing the first half of their reunion tour due to the coronavirus outbreak, Rage Against the Machine have rescheduled the entire trek for the summer of 2021.

“Rage Against the Machine will commence our tour at such a time when we are confident it will be safe for our fans,” the band said in a statement, noting the rerouted dates are still “health and safety permitting.” “We sincerely hope that each of you and your families and friends stay safe and well and that music is bringing you solace and inspiration.”

The reunion tour will now kick off June 3rd, 2021 in El Paso, Texas and run through August 20th, 2021. The trek includes a five-night stand at New York’s Madison Square Garden.

Tickets for the band’s 2020 tour will be honored at the rescheduled 2021 dates, though “during this difficult time we also respect the fans who want their ticket money back. We’ve requested and confirmed that, as of this weekend, anyone who wants a refund can begin the process at your point of purchase.”

Rage Against the Machine are, as of now, still scheduled to headline Coachella 2020, which was pushed from its two April weekends to October 9-11 and October 16-18, 2020.

The dates will then pick up again in early 2023 with another round of shows beginning with a Feb. 22 gig at the Pan American Center in Las Cruces, New Mexico. That run of gigs will keep the band on the road through a planned two-night stand in Detroit at Little Caesars Arena in early April.

Rage Against the Machine cancels remainder of 2023 tour

rage against the machine tour vancouver

By Joey Chini

Posted October 5, 2022 9:34 am.

Last Updated October 5, 2022 10:13 am.

Rage Against the Machine has cancelled its 2023 North American tour, including dates in Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver, and Winnipeg.

The decision to cancel the tour came after lead vocalist Zack de la Rocha revealed only eight per cent of his Achilles tendon was left intact after he injured it while performing in Chicago months earlier.

The Rage vocalist called the tour’s cancellation difficult and painful.

“Two years of waiting through the pandemic, hoping we would have an opening to be a band again and continue the work we started 30 some odd years ago. Rehearsing, training, reconciling, working our way back to form. Then one and a half shows into it and my tendon tears. Felt like a sick joke the universe played on me. As I write this I remind myself it’s just a bad circumstance. Just a f—-d up moment,” de la Rocha said in a statement to fans.

He says the injury to his tendon is “not simply a question of being able to perform again, but extends to basic functionality going forward.”

The band was supposed to play in several Canadian cities years ago, but shows were cancelled due to pandemic restrictions.

“I hate cancelling shows. I hate disappointing our fans. You have all waited so patiently to see us and that is never lost on me. I never take that for granted. For you I have the ultimate gratitude and respect,” he said.

The statement from the band adds anyone who bought tickets to any of their previously planned shows online through Ticketmaster or AXS will get a refund. Anyone who paid cash should contact the box office directly.

Rage Against the Machine 2023 Concert and Festival Dates

According to the latest updates, Rage Against the Machine  already canceled their 2022 and 2023 tour date s. But we hope they will return to the stage this year. This return probably happens this Summer or Fall of 2023 for sure.

Sadly, the last chance to watch live in the Rage Against the Machine reunion tour has passed for now. Rage Against the Machine’s reunion tour will begin on July 9th in East Troy, WI, rather than on March 31st in El Paso, TX. Only half of the 38-show tour has been postponed indefinitely. Rage Against the Machine, on the other hand, announced new dates for February, March, and April 2023.

When you asked, “Why did Rage Against the Machine cancel their current tour?”

During the North American leg’s second concert. On July 11th, 2022, in Chicago. We watched Zack de la Rocha injure his leg onstage and leave for a brief while before returning to the stage seated.

“I don’t know what happened to my leg right now,” Zack de la Rocha said of the injury night. We’re going to keep this crap going. This stage is crawlable for me. Tonight we’re going to play for you all.”

Here is also Zack De La Rocha’s press statement about canceling the 2023 tour dates so far:

“It’s been almost three months since Chicago, and I still look down at my leg in disbelief. Two years of waiting through the pandemic, hoping we would have an opening to be a band again and continue the work we started 30 some odd years ago. Rehearsing, training, reconciling, working our way back to form. Then one and a half shows into it and my tendon tears. Felt like a sick joke the universe played on me. As I write this I remind myself it’s just bad circumstance. Just a f***** up moment.

Unfortunately it is a moment that requires a lot of work and healing. I have a sever tear in my left Achilles tendon and only 8% of my tendon was left intact. And even that portion was severely compromised. It’s not simply a question of being able to perform again, but extends to basic functionality going forward. That’s why I’ve made the painful and difficult decision to cancel the remaining shows on our 2023 North American leg.

I hate cancelling shows. I hate disappointing our fans. You have all waited so patiently to see us and that is never lost on me. I never take that for granted. For you, I have the ultimate gratitude and respect.

To my brothers Tim, Brad, and Tom; to El P, Killer Mike, Trackstar, and the whole RTJ crew; to everyone on our production team: techs, cooks, drivers, assistants, security squad, to anyone and everyone who made the shows thus far possible, all my love and respect. I hope to see you very soon.”

Rage Against the Machine Announce Rescheduled 2023 North American Tour Dates

Rage Against the Machine 's reunion plans, like most act's touring plans, were thwarted by the pandemic, but the band will finally get a chance to take the stage later this year with Zack de la Rocha and they've rescheduled some of this year's shows to early 2023 as well.

Rage Against The Machine Member Spotted In Studio

rage against the machine tour vancouver

Brad Wilk of Rage Against the Machine was recently spotted laying down some drum tracks at Rancho de la Luna this past week. Fans are wondering what he might be working on. A picture has been posted by the Instagram account of Rancho de la Luna.

Brad Wilk reveals Rage Against The Machine have split

Wilk recently revealed that Rage Against the Machine decided to call it quits for a third time in January this year. Taking to his Instagram account, , the founding member went on to address a series of canceled dates as part of Rage’s Public Service Announcement reunion tour. He wrote:

“I know a lot of people are waiting for us to announce new tour dates for all the canceled RATM shows,” he wrote. “I don’t want to string people or myself along any further. So while there has been some communication that this may be happening in the future… I want to let you know that RATM (Tim, Zack, Tom and I) will not be touring or playing live again. I’m sorry for those of you who have been waiting for this to happen. I really wish it was…”

Formation and split

Well, this is not the first time that the band decided to split. The quartet consisting of frontman Zack de la Rocha, bassist Tim Commerford, guitarist Tom Morello and Wilk, formed in the early 1990s and staggered the mainstream with its reactionary and politically-charged music.

However, following their success, Rocha decided to release a statement in 2000 that he was leaving the band because “our decision-making process has completely failed.” The remaining members splintered off to form Audioslave with lead singer Chris Cornell, who would inevitably leave the band in 2007.

That same year, Rage had a reunion to headline Coachella and subsequently toured in the years that followed. By 2011, they had played their final show at L.A Rising and indicated their split for the second time.

Third reunion

However, Rage Against The Machine caught the attention when they reunited for their third run in 2020, announcing the Public Service Announcement tour. The pandemic forced them to push back the tour and Rage inevitably picked it back up in 2022. On the second date of the tour, Rocha injured his Achilles tendon, and while they finished the first leg of the planned shows, they canceled the remainder due to the severity of his injuries.

Rage Against The Machine was mostly absent during their induction ceremony into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Morello was the sole member who accepted the honor, and noted that the group has “differing opinions on a lot of things, including being inducted.” He did pay tribute to Rage, though, and thanked the “fifth member of the band,” referring to the fans.

We will now have to wait and see what the future holds for the band.

Nostalgic punk favourite Rise Against to perform in Vancouver

Straight-edge punk-rock band Rise Against is embarking on a six-week North American headline tour, whick kicks off in Denver. Among the 27 cities, Vancouver on November 16 marks the only Canadian show.

With a rich history spanning 25 years, Rise Against is a band that has always been at the forefront of punk rock. The band’s upcoming performance in Vancouver is a celebration of its entire catalogue, featuring songs from its most recent album Nowhere Generation —which debuted at number one on Billboard rock charts in 2021—and its predecessor Wolves , a controversial album created in response to the election of Donald Trump in 2017. The band's outspokenness on a range of topics including political injustice, social commentary, and environmentalism has always been a defining characteristic.

“We can’t wait to head out this fall with some old friends and new friends,” the band shares in a release. “Since we’ll be playing some venues we haven’t played in a while, we thought we'd also dust off some songs we haven’t played in some time.”

Family of Heathrow baggage handler who suffered brain damage after she was dragged into a conveyer belt when her scarf got caught take legal action against her employers

The family of a  Heathrow  baggage handler, who suffered brain damage after getting her scarf caught in machinery and being dragged along a conveyor belt, is taking legal action against her employers.

Jasbir Sahota, who has been working at the airport for 30 years, was left seriously injured after the accident on February 14.

The 52-year-old was unloading luggage from a Loganair flight arriving in the capital from Dundee when she got the item of clothing caught in the machine.

The incident caused disabling injuries, as well as brain damage, leaving Mrs Sahota in need of specialist care.

Now her family are demanding her employer Menzies, a global aviation services company, pay for her transfer from Hillingdon Hospital to Wellington Hospital - a private facility which provides the complex care Mrs Sahota requires.

Her two children, Nina Haer and Harman Sahota, along with brother-in-law Satti, told The Telegraph that the firm has been 'treating her like a number rather than a valued employee' and that they have been forced into legal action.

Heathrow baggage handler is rushed to hospital in a critical condition after her scarf got trapped in a conveyor belt and was dragged along

'Jaz deserves the best care and the best treatment and this just isn't available on the NHS,' said Satti . 'To stand a fighting chance of making any improvement she needs to be moved to the Wellington.

'Every day she stays at Hillingdon - and they are doing their best - it is a day we're losing her and that's awful.'

The family said that Menzies had offered to help them following the accident but that the only assistance they had received had been the company paying for taxis to and from the hospital.

They added that the firm had fallen out of contact with them and now rarely got in touch.

According to Nina, no one enjoyed their job more than Mrs Sahota, whose condition has also taken its toll on the people around her.

Financially, the cost of a transfer to Wellington would reach around £300,000 which is more than her family can afford.

Meanwhile, Harman, 24, has been forced to take time off work as a signal engineer with Network Rail for stress-related reasons.

Nina has also had to make adjustments, taking a less demanding position for a recruitment company near the family home in Hayes, west London.

Menzies was founded as a wholesaler and bookstall in Edinburgh by John Menzies in 1833 and now covers cargo handling, passenger services and ground operations at airports all over the world, pulling $2.2billion of revenue last year.

Heathrow passengers face chaos as 350 baggage handlers begin 72-hour strike despite last-minute deal saving Qatar Airways flights to World Cup

Lawyers for Mrs Sahota's family have found a number of causes which they say raise questions over Menzies' commitment to its employees' health and safety.

On Christmas Eve 2016, Rebecca Smith was injured when she fell through a gap in the railing on top of a luggage belt loader.

The incident occurred when the loader was hit by a moving vehicle and a Health and Safety Executive investigation into the incident found that the firm had foreseen the risk of a collision between such vehicles but had not acted to mitigate the risk of an error from the driver.

Menzies, who pleaded guilty to breaching section 2(1) of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, was fined £181,500 with costs of £21,043.

That case came after the firm was fined £60,000 by the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health (Cal/OSHA) after the death of Cesar Valenzuela, 51, who was thrown from a baggage cart at Los Angeles International Airport.

Mr Valenzuela was found to not have had a functioning seat belt.

Mrs Sahota's solicitors Fieldfisher are heading to court in the next few weeks to seek the disclosure of material that could help in a possible future negligence claim.

A Menzies spokesperson told MailOnline: 'An active investigation is underway following a serious incident involving a Menzies employee at Heathrow Airport earlier this year.

'As this is ongoing, we cannot provide any further detail at this time. Our thoughts are with our colleague and their family.'

Heathrow Airport declined to comment.
