picture of the weeknd

Update April 23 2024:  After months of confusion following the  announcement  in November last year that  the Weeknd’s After Hours Til Dawn tour  was postponed due to “unforeseen circumstances”, it has just been revealed that the entire run of sold-out Aussie gigs have been cancelled. For more information (including how you can get a refund) check out our explainer  here .

Has the Weekend cancelled his Australian tour in 2024?

Due to "unforeseen circumstances", all of his Australian shows – including his Melbourne dates – have been cancelled.

Is the Weeknd touring Australia in 2024?

Not anymore. Ticketek has announced the Weeknd will not be rescheduling any of his 2023 dates for his After Hours Til Dawn tour.

When is the Weeknd coming to Melbourne?

The Weeknd was originally set to perform in Melbourne on December 1, 2, 4 and 5, 2023. These shows have now been cancelled.

How much are the Weeknd tickets for Melbourne?

Ticket prices will range from $102.87-$306.75, but prices may be subject to change.

What stadium will the Weeknd play at in Melbourne?

The Weeknd was scheduled to play at Marvel Stadium   in Docklands, near the CBD.

Where else is the Weeknd playing in Australia as part of the 2023 After Hours til Dawn tour?

In addition to his Melbourne show, the Weeknd was scheduled to perform at Accor Stadium in Sydney on November 24, 25 and 27, and Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane on November 20 and 21. All of these dates have now been cancelled.

When do the Weeknd tickets Melbourne go on sale in Australia?

Tickets for the general public go on sale Friday September 1 at 10am.

If you really want to increase your chances of seeing the Starboy live, there’s a heap of different pre-sales before the main public sale. These are the dates and times for them:

What’s the current setlist for the Weeknd tour?

Want to know what you’re in for at this concert? It’s looking like a whole lot of Dawn FM plus some classics like 'Save Your Tears', 'Die for You' and 'Starboy'. The songs slightly vary between shows but this is what the line-up is looking like:

Dawn FM  Take my Breath  Sacrifice How Do I Make You Love Me? Can’t Feel My Face Lost in the Fire  Hurricane  The Hills Kiss Land Often  Crew Love  Starboy House of Balloons/Glass Table Girls  Heartless  Low Life  Reminder  Party Monster  Faith  After Hours  Out of Time  I Feel It Coming  Die For You Is There Someone Else? What are the VIP packages for the Weeknd in Australia?

There are three VIP packages listed on the Ticketek website: the VIP Lounge Experience, the Golden Circle Early Entry Package, and the GA Early Entry Package. None of the packages include meeting the Weeknd but the inclusions range from access to a pre-show party, early entry and fan memorabilia.

How many tickets can I buy at once to the Weeknd?

This was such a great show!! I would definitely see him live again.

-great light display/props/theatrics

-he sang music from all his albums which was well appreciated!

-he interacted with the crowd

-he sings AMAZING live

-chill atmosphere

-performers/musicians were smoking weed on stage

-Abel took a longgg time to get on stage, we were there for almost two hours before he did

-crowd was very drunk & rude (not his fault)

-merchandise was very expensive (I payed $40 for a t-shirt)

This review might not be completely objective as Abel has been my favourite singer for a few years now. However, I can definitely admit the Starboy tour date in Paris was the best pop concert I've been to this year. Even though some songs could have been put out of the tracklist, he mostly sang his catchiest songs of his career, no matter the era. He has great, or should I say, tremendous energy as he continuously sang twenty-something songs with no pause in between. He has no trouble reaching high notes live, his voice sounding even more heavenly in real life. That night, he invited Travis Scott on stage who pumped up the crowd more than him, which is a shame and showcases very well his lack of success and recognition in France, yet, in a sold out stadium. Most people actually didn't even know his real name or the lyrics of his songs ! I would recommend any "real fan" who has known him for a while or who likes his last album a lot to go to a Starboy tour date. I promise you, you won't regret it.

The concert was absolutely stunning. A starship was used and the lights were coordinated very well. Abel sang amazingly in person and I loved jumping up and down screaming with other members of the audience while he sang. The concert was truly magical and I enjoyed every second Abel stood on stage.

As for the other singers who appeared on stage, I was very satisfied with their singing as well. They did an amazing job and captured the entire audience. In between Abel's music, the other singers such as Lil Uzi and 6lack played their hits on stage and the whole crowd became even more alive. If I the concert played out any other way, I'm sure I wouldn't have enjoyed it as much as this concert.

The weeknd announces fourth melbourne show.

The Weeknd

This new date is: Tuesday, December 5 at Marvel Stadium, Melbourne. General public tickets go on sale on Wednesday, September 13 at 2pm (local time).

The Weeknd will be bringing his After Hours Til Dawn tour down under this summer with dates planned for Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. It’ll be the first time he touches down in the country in six years.

A portmanteau of the artist’s two most recent albums, 2020’s After Hours and 2022’s Dawn FM, the tour will weave its way through South America before performing in stadiums across Australia and in New Zealand. The Weekend will be bringing neo-soul singer Chxrry22 and hip-hop producer and multi-instrumentalist Mike Deanalong as support.

The Weeknd Australia 2023 Tour

  • Nov 20 and 21 – Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane
  • Nov 24 and 25 – Accor Stadium,  Sydney
  • Dec 1 and 2 – Marvel Stadium, Melbourne
  • Dec 7 – Eden Park, Auckland

Keep up with the latest music news, features, festivals, interviews and reviews  here .

The last round of new dates are as follows: Tuesday, November 21 at Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium, Saturday, November 25 at Accor Stadium in Sydney, and Saturday, December 2 at Marvel Stadium, Melbourne.

Hailing from Toronto, The Weeknd rose to underground fame via anonymous YouTube videos and a series of mixtapes released on his record label XO. Touted for his contemporary brand of dark, sexy R&B, he took a firm step into the public eye in 2013 with his debut album, Kiss Land, which came out at number two on the US Billboard 200.

Today, he’s among the world’s best-selling music artists, with over 75 million records sold across the world. His discography is laden with genre-defining gems including I Can’t Feel My Face, Blinding Lights, The Hills, Starboy, Save Your Tears and Die For You. On his most recent release, he partnered with Travis Scott and Bad Bunny on the reggaeton-trap banger K-Pop.

He was labelled the 2023″world’s most popular artist” by Guinness World Records. He holds the top spot with 111.4 million monthly listeners on Spotify and he was also the first artist to reach 100 million all-time listeners.

However, in a recent interview about his experience acting in the controversial HBO show The Idol, The Weeknd’s Abel Tesfaye told W Magazine said he’s almost ready to move on from the project.

“It’s getting to a place and a time where I’m getting ready to close The Weeknd chapter. I’ll still make music, maybe as Abel, maybe as The Weeknd. But I still want to kill The Weeknd. And I will. Eventually. I’m definitely trying to shed that skin and be reborn,” he said.

Tickets to see The Weeknd on the upcoming tour go on sale on Friday, September 1 at 10am for Melbourne, 11am for Brisbane and 12pm for Sydney.

The Weeknd has announced he’s bringing his global stadium tour to Australia later this year.

The Canadian singer, 33, will include stops in Australia and New Zealand in November and December as part of his After Hours Til Dawn tour, which first kicked off in North America last year.

The tour is in support of his fourth and fifth studio albums, After Hours (2020) and Dawn FM (2022).

The Weeknd – real name Abel Tesfaye – just wrapped the European leg of the tour, and will next head to Latin America from September before kicking off the Australian leg, which includes three shows.

The Blinding Lights hit maker, who last performed in Australia in 2017, will be supported by special guests Mike Dean and Chxrry22.

Pre-sale tickets go on sale on Friday August 25 to Vodafone customers, which will open to Melbourne customers at 10am, Brisbane at 11am and Sydney at 12pm.

Variety reports the After Hours Til Dawn tour has made over $US350 million in sales as of July, making it the highest grossing tour by a black artist, surpassing Michael Jackson’s HIStory World Tour in the late ‘90s.

Last month, the tour broke London Stadium’s attendance record with 160,000 concertgoers across two nights.

After breaking attendance records in London, Paris and Milan with over 1.6 million people attending during the European summer, The Weeknd will perform in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney in November and December.

The After Hours Til Dawn Tour with special guests Mike Dean and Chxrry22 will kick off Monday, November 20 in Brisbane at Suncorp Stadium before heading to Sydney on November 24 and December 1 in Melbourne .

Abel Tesfaye, adopting the moniker The Weeknd, embarked on his musical journey with the release of his mixtape House Of Balloons in 2011. This marked the beginning of a series of artistic endeavours, including the subsequent EPs Thursday and Echoes Of Silence, all of which came together to form the comprehensive compilation album known as the Trilogy.

In 2013, Tesfaye unveiled his inaugural album, titled Kiss Land, followed by his 2015 offering Beauty Behind The Madness. This release turned out to be a turning point in his career, propelling him to international fame based on chart-toppers like Can’t Feel My Face and The Hills.

The Weeknd’s subsequent album, Starboy, graced the music scene in 2016. This release featured a notable collaboration with Daft Punk and secured the prestigious Grammy Award for Best Urban Contemporary Album. The anticipation of fans was rewarded with Tesfaye’s fourth album, After Hours, which finally arrived in 2020. The album was marked by the ubiquitous presence of tracks such as Blinding Lights and Save Your Tears.

His fifth studio album came in 2022 when Dawn FM was released, marking what is likely to be his penultimate album.

“The album I’m working on now is probably my last hurrah as The Weeknd.

“This is something that I have to do. As The Weeknd, I’ve said everything I can say,” he told W Magazine in May 2023.

The Weeknd’s Australian tour has been extended again.

The award-winning Canadian artist announced last month  that he was bringing his global stadium tour to Australia and New Zealand this year. Stops in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, and Auckland through November and December were initially confirmed, and now The Weeknd has added a fourth show in Melbourne due to overwhelming demand.

He’ll now perform at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium on Tuesday, December 5th. The Weeknd will be supported by special guests Mike Dean and Chxrry22 on the upcoming tour.

Tickets to the newly announced show go on sale to the general public on Wednesday, September 13th at 2pm local time. The Vodafone and Binance pre-sales begin on Tuesday, September 12th at 1pm local time.  Foxtel Rewards members can also access exclusive reserved tickets from Wednesday, September 13th at 2pm local time.

Before reaching Australia and New Zealand, The Weeknd’s global stadium run has regularly been shattering records. The tour recently broke London Stadium’s attendance record thanks to 160,000 fans attending across two nights.

In France, The Weeknd’s shows in Nice, which sold 70,000 tickets across two shows, became the highest in the city’s history, while he became the first artist to sell out two nights at Milan’s Ippodromo La Maura in Italy.

A United Nations World Food Programme Goodwill Ambassador, The Weeknd – real name Abel Tesfaye – will again contribute funds from this new leg of his tour to the XO Humanitarian Fund, which supports the organisation’s response to the unprecedented global food crisis.

The Weeknd’s tour belatedly celebrates his 2020 album, After Hours , as well as his 2022 album, Dawn FM , both of which topped the albums charts in Australia and New Zealand.

‘A Murder at the End of the World’ Star and Creator Brit Marling on Complicated Billionaires, AI and Whodunits

The billionaire Andy Ronson (Clive Owen) — a technological genius who serves as an antagonist and, ultimately, tragic figure in the FX limited series “ A Murder at the End of the World ” — may bear a more-than-passing resemblance to certain tycoons of our time. But creator, director and star Brit Marling had an older inspiration in mind.

Listen below to this episode of the Awards Circuit podcast, which also features a conversation with “Parish” star and executive producer Giancarlo Esposito.

“A Murder at the End of the World” follows amateur investigator Darby Hart (Emma Corrin), author of a hit true crime memoir, to Ronson’s rural retreat in Iceland. There, she briefly reunites with her ex-boyfriend Bill (Harris Dickinson), who once worked with her to track down a serial killer before becoming a world-famous artist. But when Bill ends up dead just as a storm cuts off their hotel from the outside world, Darby starts sleuthing. It’s a quest that leads her to bigger questions about wealth hoarding, artificial intelligence and collective culpability. Without spoilers, the culprit turns out to be a clever twist on the Agatha Christie-inflected template the filmmakers best known for Netflix’s “The OA” put their characteristically cerebral spin on.

Marling is a fan of both Christie’s novels and other classics of the genre, including Owen’s previous star turn in Robert Altman’s “Gosford Park.” With “A Murder at the End of the World,” she and Batmanglij fused the classic format with the more contemporary craze for true crime. “It isn’t a genre that I know that deeply or intimately, but I do understand the impulse for it,” MarIing speculates. “I think the draw is that modern life feels a little bit like a whodunit. We’re in a really strange time, and things are very fucked up. And I think we’re all looking around and being like, ‘Okay, who’s to blame for this?’”

Though she typically plays the lead role in her projects with Batmanglij, to bring Darby’s story to life, Marling cast herself in a supporting role (as Andy’s wife and Darby’s hacker role model, Lee) and used the extra bandwidth to step behind the camera as a director for the first time in her career. “I’m so glad that I did that, because it was really satisfying to get to take things from the imagination onto the page, and then from on the page to on the screen through the edit,” Marling reflects. “Sometimes there’s a gap between what you’d want and what you were able to achieve. But it is a real pleasure to be able to do that. Because when you don’t do that, as a writer, you’re surrendering a lot. You just have to practice the art of surrender, you know?”

“A Murder at the End of the World” ends in a definitive fashion. But from Hercule Poirot to Benoit Blanc, the most iconic private detectives transcend individual stories, taking their talents across locales. When asked if she and Batmanglij envision a similar future for Darby Hart, Marling seems open to the idea. “We thought of this story as having a very specific beginning, middle and end,” she says. But I think we also thought, ‘This Darby has become quite a vivid character. So if the audience appetite is there, and our appetite is there, and we feel a sense of a new story that we could tell — I think you’re right, that Darby Hart could travel all over the world. We could find her anywhere next.”
