How to Travel From Madrid to Granada by Train, Bus, Car, and Plane

tour madrid granada

Damian Corrigan / TripSavvy

Madrid is rich with European art and famous for destinations like the Buen Retiro Park, Royal Palace, and Plaza Mayor. The Spanish capital attracts about 6 million tourists per year and many of them use the metropolis as a starting point for broader travels. They'll jet off to Barcelona to the northeast and Andalusia to the south. Granada , part of the Andalusia region, is a picture-perfect city perched in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains, making it a pretty popular side trip from Madrid, which is 261 miles (420 kilometers) away.

Home to medieval architecture, royal palaces, and the elaborate Generalife gardens, Granada is best known for the sprawling complex of fortresses known as the Alhambra. This city is a destination of its own, but it can easily be worked into a trip to the greater Andalusia region, famous for its hills, rivers, and Roman ruins. If that's the case, you might be better off coming from Seville, the region's capital.

The route from Madrid to Seville is served by a high-speed train service that connects the two cities in around two and a half hours. It costs about the same by either bus or train, so you can take whichever puts you nearest to your accommodations. Along the way, travelers can stop by Ronda, Antequera, and Cordoba. Day tours from Seville are available, too.

Wherever you're coming from, know that tickets to Granada often sell out a month in advance due to its UNESCO World Heritage site, so it is suggested to make arrangements for transportation and accommodation well before your trip.

How to Get From Madrid to Granada

  • By Train: 3 hours, 20 minutes, starting at $65
  • By Bus: 4 hours, 30 minutes, starting at $35 (cheapest)
  • By Car: 4 hours, 30 minutes, 261 miles (420 kilometers)
  • By Flight: 1 hour, starting at $63 (fastest)

Getting to Granada from Madrid is quick and easy by train. Spain's high-speed AVE service connects the two in less than three and a half hours with its 193-mile-per-hour (310-kilometer-per-hour) train. The train departs from Atocha station several times per day between 7:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. and makes only limited stops before arriving in Granada.

The cost of taking the train is comparable to flying, but although the flight from Madrid to Granada is only one hour, there's the process of getting to and from airports and checking bags that puts off many from traveling by plane. Train tickets cost between $65 and $125 and can be obtained online via Rail Europe .

The bus is a cheaper option for the budget-conscious traveler who doesn't mind taking their time. It takes about an hour longer than the AVE train takes, so you'll be in Granada about four and half hours after leaving Madrid Estacion Sur bus station.

ALSA offers services regularly throughout the day, so you can board the bus that best fits your schedule. It costs between $35 and $52 and can be booked online (which, again, should be done well in advance).

Granada is a bit far for a  day trip from Madrid , but there are several multi-day  coach tours  that pass through the city. The most popular one is the Viator's four-day tour of Seville, Cordoba, and Granada that begins in Madrid.

By car, the 261-mile (420-kilometer) journey from Madrid to Granada should take about four and a half hours. The route isn't too difficult, seeing as it sticks mainly to the major R-4 and A-44 roads. While driving does take just as long as the bus, it can be a lot more fun to be in charge. You can stop off at the ancient, hilltop city of Toledo (home to medieval Arab, Jewish, and Christian monuments) or Jaén for olive oil tasting and a visit to its 11th-century bathhouse along the way. Those who are willing to brave the traffic in Madrid will not regret road tripping through the region's many medieval landmarks, cathedrals, castles, Renaissance buildings, lush plains, and more.

Flying is the fastest mode of transportation and tickets can be found for almost as cheap as the train if booked far enough in advance. However, when you factor in transportation to and from airports, going through security, and waiting for your luggage—if necessary—flying can turn out to be just as time-consuming as ground travel.

According to Skyscanner , there are 34 direct flights from Madrid to Granada per week. A return ticket can cost as little as $63 during the low season (March through June) and about $85 during all other times of the year. Nonstop flights take about an hour and arrive at Granada's only airport (domestic), which is about a 20-minute taxi ride from the city center.

What to See in Granada

With the Sierra Nevada mountain range acting as its backdrop, Granada is a picturesque city of medieval fortresses, grand palaces, and tree-covered hills. The most famous thing to do in this city (and in the country) is to visit the Alhambra, a Moorish palace that was built sometime in the 13th or 14th century, although a smaller palace was originally constructed there on the remains of Roman fortifications much earlier. Be sure to secure a ticket well in advance because the Alhambra can receive up to 6,000 visitors daily.

Generalife —the former summer palace of Alhambra rulers—is another Granada hot spot. The surrounding gardens are so vibrant and ornate that they're now recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site. You'll also want to visit the Granada Cathedral, the Royal Chapel of Granada (a burial site for Catholic kings), and the Palace of Charles V.

Once you've gotten your fill of history, dig into the local tapas. In Granada, you can snag snacks (sardines, burger sliders, carne con salsa, and the like) for free with a round of drinks at most bars.

What people love about granada tours.

The itinerary was good; liked the fact that we had a lot of time on our own and that we had the same hotel at least 2 nights in a row. Did not like the fact that we had to take a public bus to our hotel with luggage in tow, and that we had to drag our luggage to various pick-up stops. We have not experienced that on prior tours. The day in Cordoba was poorly planned, leaving us no time to tour the city on our own as was promised. Otherwise everything was fine.
Gracias Europamundo son fabulosos quede mas enamorada de Espana y sus bellas ciudades. ¡Hasta pronto!
Great Trip, We felt like the trip had enough daily experiences mixed with enough free time. Our Guide and Driver were the best! Enjoyed the entire week, the only thing we would change is a few of the hotel dinners were not for us. I would travel again with VPT based on this experience and would request Miguel and Gabriel guide us along. James B

How to go from Madrid to Granada

tour madrid granada

Few sights in Spain are as stirring as the honey-hued spires of the Granada Alhambra rising before the snow-capped Sierra Nevada. It’s a place every lover of the Iberian Peninsula should see at least once, which is no doubt why the trip to this historic and wonderful city deep in the hills of Andalusia is one that’s made by so many travelers each year.

This guide can help you join them. It’s got all the ins and outs of organising the 220-mile jaunt from the capital down south, with details about trains, planes, cars, and more. Let’s get going…

Madrid to Granada by high-speed train

Madrid to Granada by high-speed train

Time – 3h17+ Price – $33+ Comfort – 5/5

You’ll be stepping out under the serrated tops of the Andalusian Sierras before you can dust off your morning chocolate churros if you hop on the Alta Velocidad Española (known as AVE for short) down from Madrid. These zippy locomotives cover hundreds of miles of track to get you to the historic Moorish citadels and cobbled streets in a mere 3h17 in some cases. There are three departures from Madrid Atocha each day that go direct, with the first at 7.30 in the morning and the last at 7.35pm.

You’ll be traveling on the best of the Renfe (Spain’s national rail provider) fleet for the whole way. They are modern, bullet-nosed carriages that include VIP Preferente (1st) and spacious Turista (2nd) classes. You’ll also get access to an onboard food cart that serves hot meals and even rich red wines courtesy of the Rioja region. There’s climate control and wide windows throughout, so you’ll be warmed in winter, cooled in summer, and get to enjoy the view no matter what tariff you choose.

At least three high-speed AVE trains now link Madrid to Granada, helping travelers get to the mighty Alhambra in just over three hours.

It’s always a good idea to book as early as possible on these speedy connections. Renfe do great deals on advance-bought tickets, seeing the cost of the ride to Granada drop to something like $32.50 per person. If you leave it late, you can expect to pay a lot more than that, and often for precisely the same seat in Turista class that was reduced only weeks before. Thankfully, 12Go.co lets you search and compare all the schedules and services on offer from Spanish railways.

Ave tourista

The route the train takes makes for some pretty nice window viewing. You’ll pass through the heart of the Andalusian mountains, spotting white-painted villages on the hills. Most services will also make a pitstop in the grand and ancient city of Córdoba. Before that, you’ll drop altitude as you leave behind the central plateau of Spain and pass the mythic lands of Castilla-La Mancha after rolling out of the capital.

Madrid to Granada by bus

Madrid to Granada by bus

Time – 4.5-5.5 hours Price – $20+ Comfort – 4/5

It’s also possible to go by bus from Madrid to Granada without stops in around 4.5-5.5 hours. National coach operator ALSA sees to that. They run multiple services between the two cities, both during the day and during the night. (They also have countless indirect routes that will involve at least one change of vehicle.) Sticking to the nonstop choices, you’ll need to find your way to the Madrid Estacion Sur – South Station – in the capital to board. That’s easy to get to, with a direct link to the metro at Méndez Álvaro on offer.

Look for seats on ALSA’s Premium-class coaches to get the most luxurious ride possible on the roadways between Madrid and Granada.

Departing the capital, the coaches drive almost directly south, through Getafe and then across the plains of La Mancha. About two thirds of the way in, you’ll cross the border into Andalusia, where the landscapes become noticeably more mountainous and rugged, with forests of olive trees and pueblos blancos visible on the hillsides. Yep – it’s views like that that mean you might want to consider traveling during daylight.

Buses are generally modern, well-maintained, and comfy. They always have air conditioning and reclining seats. What’s more, the Madrid-Granada route has the added benefit of the Premium-class coaches run by ALSA. They boast frills like touch-screen entertainment portals like you get on long-haul flights, onboard WiFi and in-seat plugs. It’s the option to go for if you like to travel in style.

Madrid to Granada by plane

Madrid to Granada by plane

Time – 1h05 (flight only) Price – $38+ Comfort – 4/5

You aren’t limited to going overland from the bustling plazas of Madrid to the gorgeous arabesque gardens and palaces of Granada. That’s because there are upwards of 30 connections per week in the air, all of them offered by Spain’s national flag-carrying airline, Iberia. They take just 65 minutes to jet down south to the runways of Granada, which puts them up there with the fastest options on this list. Of course, total travel times are likely to be more than that, because these journeys require transfers to the airports and security checks to boot.

Around four direct flights link up Madrid with Granada every day, courtesy of Spain’s own Iberia.

Talking of the airports…you’ll start at the big Madrid-Barajas Adolfo Suárez Airport (MAD). That’s the largest in the capital, which can be reached on Bus 200 from the downtown or Línea Exprés from Atocha train station (30-40 minutes). Landing wise, you’ll touch ground again at the relatively small Federico García Lorca Granada Airport. It’s to the west of the main town, linked by public buses taking 45 minutes and costing 4 EUR ($4.30).

Madrid to Granada by plane

A great deal on a flight between Madrid and Granada is around the $40 mark. Those sorts of cheap fares are more likely to be available at least 60 days before departure, so it’s a good idea to get searching on 12Go.co as soon as you know when you want to travel. During peak periods and for fares bought at the last minute, it’s not uncommon to pay upwards of $100 for a seat! Also, you’ll need to add on some extra fees for checked bags if you’re bringing luggage in tow.

Madrid to Granada by car

Madrid to Granada by car

Time – 4h10 Price – $160+ Comfort – 4/5

Thankfully, car rentals in Spain are among the most affordable in Europe. Just check out RentalCars.com , where you can score three-day hire packages that include collection in the capital and drop off in Granada for around $160-200 total. That’s three whole days of your own ride, meaning all the fantastic draws that lie between these two cities will be up for grabs. Perhaps you want some time to explore the cobbled lanes and enchanting towers of Toledo? Maybe you’d like to hike the Sierra Nevada? Or, will you detour to Córdoba for medieval castles and Roman-era bridges?

Cordoba medieval castle

The point is, $60 per day gets you the freedom of the Spanish roads, which also happen to be of very high quality, not too busy, and beautifully scenic on the way south to Andalusia from Madrid. We’d say it’s important to pay special attention to where the collection point for your car is in the city, and where you’ll need to drop it off the other end. It’s common for both to be in the airports, but you might prefer to nominate somewhere in the centre, which is also doable.

Madrid to Granada is a 220-mile jaunt from the heartlands of Spain to its southern fringes. You might just be able to smell the salt rolling off the Costa del Sol once you’ve arrived, but resist it, because great palaces and Moorish gardens are begging to be explored first!

Madrid to Granada FAQ

Buses are the way to save extra euros for your tapas in Granada’s bustling eateries. Provided you book in advance on 12Go.co , they can be priced at a wallet-friendly $20 per person.

High-speed trains come out on top when you compare all the ways to go from Madrid to Granada by time. It’s a trip of just over three hours when you travel on the zooming AVE carriages, which beats flying because that’s the figure for going straight from city centre to city centre, not from runway to runway.

For us, and for thousands of other travelers every year, it’s got to be the high-speed train. Fast and affordable (so long as you book on 12Go.co long before your holiday), they also offer a comfy ride through some seriously gorgeous sections of Spanish backcountry. Just grab a Rioja from the dining cart and settle in, folks!

Prices for the quick AVE trains that run on the route between Madrid and Granada will vary, just like airfares. Generally speaking, the closer you are to departure, the costlier they are. Book on 12Go.co at least 30 days before leaving and there could be decent deals in the region of $32.50 per person for the taking.

The train is pretty fast in that it offers to take you the full 220 mile from Madrid to Granada in as little as 3.2 hours. That actually beats flying when you add on all the faffing at the airport! Tempted? Be sure to book all railway tickets for the high-speed Spanish lines in advance on 12Go.co to get the best deals possible.

Yes. The Spanish national railway company, Renfe, now runs its piece-de-resistance AVE trains three times daily from Madrid to Granada. They can travel a whopping 300 kph, completing the journey in just over three hours total!

It’s not much of a competition when you factor in all the extra hassle that comes with flying – checking bags, security at the airport, transfers either side. Trains are faster overall (it’s only 3h17 from Madrid to Granada, centre to centre), certainly more comfortable and scenic, not to mention with a lower carbon footprint to boot!

The remainder of the day will be at your leisure to enjoy the remarkable ambiance of the Mediterranean city. The Sagrada Familia Basilica adorns the skyline with spires reaching 566 feet tall. The historical atmosphere of the Gothic Quarter will combine the stunning architecture of the medieval past with the contemporary sounds of lively cafes.

What's Included:

Barcelona - Follow Gaudi’s Legacy

Your guide will meet you at the hotel after breakfast eager to lead you on a private tour of Barcelona’s legacy. Construction on the Sagrada Familia Basilica began in the 1880s, and the 18 spindly towers dominate the surrounding structures. Lavish sculptures on the facade shift between the themes that have been dedicated to representations of the Passion. The interior will possess a central tower adorned with stalactites. You will continue to La Boqueria market, where the aromas of fresh local cuisine like potato croquettes and bread with seasoned garlic and tomato sauce fill the air.

Barcelona - Discover the Gothic Quarter and Picasso

The majestic ambiance of the city will offer you alluring beauty as you explore the Gothic Quarter with your guide. The unique neighborhood retains secrets that date back centuries and that have been scattered along the cobblestone streets and preserved archways. The 14th-century Santa Agata Chapel was built over a former Roman town wall and acted as the chapel to the Royal Palace. You can visit the Picasso Museum, which is hidden on an atmospheric street occupied by medieval palaces. The 15th-century Gothic architecture juxtaposes the extensive collection of paintings and drawings that make up Picasso’s early work. The collection includes the enormous work, Science and Charity.

Granada - Travel to Granada for a Free Day

After breakfast, your private airport transfer will lead you to El Prat for your flight to Granada. After your escorted transfer to your hotel, the remainder of the day will be at your leisure in the heart of the city. Narrow roads will create a majestic ambiance beneath the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. The antique ramparts continue to act as the neighborhood’s border, giving way to remarkable views at Cuesta de la Alhacaba and the gorge of the Darro River.

Granada - Explore the Alhambra

The Alhambra is an imposing figure that towers above the antique heart of Granada at 2,066 feet above sea level. The dreamy hilltop setting dates back to the 13th century and embodies a masterwork of Moorish art and architecture. Your guide will lead you on a private tour of the three sections that contain the Royal Palace, Palace of Ceremonial Rooms, and the Sultan’s private quarters. The exquisite Salon de los Embajadores was the throne room and, today, retains a larch-wood dome. The ethereal charisma stems from the flooding natural light and the 150 decorative patterns.

Seville - Wander Charming Seville

Seville is a seductive city that will easily charm you upon your arrival. The diverse legacies of the city stem from architectural grandeur to stunning artistry, opulent museums and lively streets. The scent of citrus will emanate from the numerous plazas that possess blossoming orange trees. You can follow the enticing aroma to the famous Gothic cathedral. The monument was constructed between the 15th and 16th centuries on the foundations of the former mosque. The soaring Giralda Tower hints at the former Moorish rulers and stands 342 feet tall with geometric images above the door.

Seville - Free Day in Seville

After breakfast, the day will be yours to enjoy the beauty of Seville. You could visit the Museo de Bellas Artes for insight into work from the 15th century or religious paintings that were crafted during Spain’s 17th-century Golden Age. The Sevillian Baroque captured in Murillo’s Inmaculada Concepcion Grande embraces the motion and curves of the artistic movement. In the evening, you can take part in a flamenco show with a front-row seat to the renowned passion and rhythm. After visiting the Thyssen Bornemisza Museum, you will discover the opulent Royal Palace, which spans more than 1.45 million square feet. The imposing staircase climbs beneath a ceiling fresco that depicts The Triumph of Religion and the Church .

Madrid - Delight in a Toledo Day Trip

You will plunge into the cultural legacy of Toledo at your own pace to find the point at which the Christian, Muslim, and Jewish communities of medieval Spain lived harmoniously. The preserved ambiance of Toledo stems from the dazzling array of synagogues, mosques, palaces, and churches behind the defensive walls. Cobblestone streets lead to hidden shops where aristas continue to model traditional crafts, from metalworking swords to shaping the almond-scented air with handmade marzipan. Colored ceramic tiles pave the streets of the Jewish quarter beneath graceful windows and inorwork balustrades.

Madrid - Depart for Home

Hello, my wife and I bought our tickets online at your shop for today (2024-05-27) and took a round-trip starting at the stop 8. We are extremely disappointed about several aspects of this tour: 1. When we bought the ticket online, it was nowhere stated that we would have to pay for the headset for the audio-guide. To our surprise we had to pay 1.5€ each for the headsets upon entering the bus. 2. One of the headsets did not work probably (sound in just one ear). 3. Most of the time the audio track was not synchronous with the attractions described. In the middle of the trip the language changed to English although German was selected. The music in-between the spoken description was annoying!! 4. The bus did not go to the stops 4, 5 and 6 thus omitting one of the most interesting parts (Albaicin, Sacromomte). Summary: The trip was a big disappointment and we can not recommend it to anyone. Read more Written May 27, 2024
  • 33philippeb 0 contributions 2.0 of 5 bubbles Ronda OK, guided tour can improve You can start complaining about the bus ride towards Ronda that takes too long because of the many stops to pick up passengers. But that is something that counts for every tour organizer unless you book a private tour. Something that could improve is the guided tour by a local guide. We first visited the bull ring and there we had a lengthy explanation about the bull fight, but we didn’t get to do a complete visit. Then to the New Bridge. Again a lengthy explanation and then my wife and I gave up and decided to do the rest of the visit on our own. Read more Written May 26, 2024
  • StephC868 0 contributions 3.0 of 5 bubbles Incredibly rushed, consider getting train instead Cordoba is a beautiful city with cobbled streets and so much to explore, unfortunately the time constraints of the tour left us feeling very rushed. We began our day with a few hours picking up other passangers (which we knew to expect) and then were on our way. The tour guide (Rafael) spoke multiple languages and had interesting information about the journey as well as and introduction to Cordoba before we arrived. We managed to arrive early and were quickly rushed to our meeting point and a very speedy pace. We had some free time before being met by our tour guide for the cathedral. There was a lot of confusion trying to split 2 coach loads of people into 3 tour groups (Frech, German and English) and the tour guides were visibly getting frustrated with each other. Our mosque and cathedral guide was (Victoria?) She was very enthusiastic and full of information but I did struggle to hear much of what she was saying through the headphones as I kept tuning into other languages. Upon exiting the mosque/cathedral we began our city tour, we then were dragged from street to street in a manic fashion, we gave up listening through the headphones because the guide was out of range at this point for many of us. There were a few who were struggling due to health issues that were completely left behind, so we hung back to make sure the group stayed together as they got lost multiple times. The guide was nowhere in sight and seemed surprised at the end of the tour when we turned up. Then we had just enough free time for dinner before we piled back on the bus. Overall it was okay, I understand the company wanting speed but they should show a little more concern for there customers. Should have been an option for us to sit out on the city tour if we wanted to. Read more Written May 22, 2024
  • deeEl 0 contributions 1.0 of 5 bubbles Total Waste of Money!! Don't waste your money on this so-called train!!! We purchased two-day tickets before we left home, but when we went to use them we were unable to. On the first day they didn't even have a stop at the Alhambra at all and we watched two trains pass by without stopping. On the second day we stood for a total of nearly 2 hours at a city stop before giving up. When the first one came along there were 20 people waiting and only 5 seats on the train, so most of us had to wait for the next one. When that eventually arrived, it was full. In the end, rather than waste most of the day waiting at the train stop, we gave up and got taxis to where we wanted to go. It appears that they are very successful at selling tickets for this train, but do not have the capacity to cope with the numbers of seats they've sold. It wasn't even peak season when we were there: I'd hate to think how it is when it's really busy. I purchased our tickets through the "Tiquets" website and when I complained to them, after verifying our details they immediately offered a refund, which is very good. This so-called tourist train is a rip-off and you shouldn't consider using it. Read more Written May 14, 2024

We went to three different stop locations, nope all full and had to go to a fourth before we finally got a spot. So we finally felt relived to have gotten on the bus, but alas we couldn’t wait to get off because you hardly see anything. A complete waste of time!! Read more Written May 9, 2024
  • X509YCanthonyc 0 contributions 1.0 of 5 bubbles Enjoy the wait. Tried the hop on hop off bus in Granada, but was sadly disappointed. When the train arrived, we had to sit in different cars due to the crowding, the vehicle was very rough starting and stopping, and every stop we passed had a queue of more than a dozen waiting to get on. We didn't get very much information on notable places enroute, and got even less opportunity to photo them. Basically, we overpaid for a ride to the Alhambra then walked back down. Don't bother, get a taxi with a few others. They need to add additional trains to accommodate the passengers. Will be a mess come tourist season. Read more Written May 8, 2024

  • audreym582 0 contributions 1.0 of 5 bubbles Attrape nigaud Here is the worst service I have ever seen! We bought tickets online, download the QR code. At 10:30 we arrive at the station paseos de los tristes but no space to hop on! The driver advises to walk till Plaza Nueva. Here even though we had tickets and QR code, you still need to queue (for a llooooonnggg time) to validate your tickets (with the ppl without tickets) for the staff to print the same QR code on paper (sustainability?!). In the morning, we had to wait from 10:30 for 1h30 without being able to take a train. Lunch time is important for little one! In the afternoon… after the nap, it was much better only 1h15 wait! We bought a day ticket but let’s be honest only few ppl hop off so it is a utopia to get the most of it. Last but not least, the audio guide was out of service… I do not recommend at all this experience. Read more Written May 2, 2024

Even then I didn’t get to sit with my husband and completely squashed in with strangers. The earphones cost an extra €3 and didn’t even work. Seats hard and uncomfortable whilst being rattled around in the bus. Wasted our morning waiting around for this bus and you really don’t get to see much along the way unless you get off (but we didn’t want to wait another hour) It’s a waste of time and money. My advice is skip it and catch the regular bus or take a taxi. Read more Written April 28, 2024
  • johnwalle00 0 contributions 4.0 of 5 bubbles Beautiful nature and spectacular views Coming from Norway we are quite used to spectacular nature and views, but Caminito del Rey is supercool! The canyon is narrow and it's cool to be walking high above along the mountain side. Looking up you will also see huge vultures soaring through the air. It's a fairly easy walk. Don't need any experience, but bring a good amount of water as it get's quite hot. The platform that you walk on is perfectly safe and stable, almost as walking on a road. You will not get an extreme sport feeling, but you can feast your eyes on beautiful nature. Julia Travel is trying to hard to be cost efficient with the arranged transport as the bus picks up people at way too many places. From Marbella the trip could take an hour, but it took 3 hours. Also the radios, more specifically the earbuds, are of too poor quality. We struggled understanding everything the guide talked about. Cred to the guide as she mentioned a lot of interesting stuff, but she also pushed the speed a little bit too much. So much that you can't really enjoy the trip as much as I'd liked (taking pictures, enjoying the views). Will absolutely recommend this trip, but it would have been even better if the radio and the transport issues had been better. Read more Written April 25, 2024

My only “but” is we picked up the bus in Malaga. A 138 km journey took 3.5-4 hours with 15 pickups at each hotel for each guest. Yet the Malaga folks all had to assemble at one spot. And another 3.5 hours home. If you are from Malaga- rent a car, drive direct and book the tours to start onsite. The tour guide Edith explained everything very clearly and was lovely. I’d recommend doing a day at Gibralter with a tour but not the bus from Malaga. Read more Written April 25, 2024

  • Cora B 0 contributions 4.0 of 5 bubbles Awesome beauty, well worth the trip Our guide gave the most fascinating commentary over the three hours. Bravo Pablo! Since the trail is one way only it never felt crowded. Groups moved at the same pace through the canyon. I am 75 and would have appreciated a bit more care to make sure older people could sit a bit, get a drink of water and catch their breath. I wish I had known there were a lot of uneven surfaces and a lot of narrow stairs. Not a trip for the feint of heart. I would have brought a walking stick. I’m fit and did just fine, but others might not realize that this could be a challenge. That said I recommend the tour and am so happy that I saw this amazing place. Read more Written April 12, 2024
