How To Pair Poly Voyager Office Base & Headset

Pairing the poly voyager office base and voyager headsets.

Poly (formerly Plantronics) now sells their headset and base separately. This means you will need to pair your Poly Voyager Office Base and Voyager Headset before using. The following guide will assist you in pairing your Voyager headset to the Voyager Base.

***As models are being updated and added to the series, your model may look slightly different but the procedure will be the same.***

Step 1 : Connect your Voyager Office Base to power. This base lights will turn on.

Step 2: Locate the 3-position POWER switch on the side of the speaker case. Turn your headset to the OFF position and place into the base for a minimum of 20 minutes for charging.

Step 3 : Put the Poly Voyager Base into pairing mode by pressing the button on the back in for 2 seconds. The LED lights will flash BLUE and RED when in pairing mode.

Step 4: Put the Voyager Headset into pairing mode by sliding and holding the headset POWER switch away from the off position. You will hear ‘PAIRING’ in the headset and the LED lights will flash BLUE and RED.

Step 5: In the headset you will hear ‘PAIRING SUCCESSFUL. BASE CONNECTED’

Your Poly Voyager Office Base and Voyager Headset should now be paired and ready for use!

To Purchase Additional Voyager Office Bases and Compatible Headsets:

Installation of Poly Voyager Office Base

Choose below for a desk phone setup A, B, C or D and connect cables.

A) Desk phone with dedicated headset port

• Connect one end of the telephone interface cable to the back of the base
• IMPORTANT Cisco phones use configuration D on the bottom of the base. Most other phones use default configuration A.
• NOTE Use this setup if you are not using the HL10 lifter or EHS cable. In this configuration, press both the headset button on your desk phone and the call control button on the headset to answer or end calls.

B) Desk phone (standard)

• Disconnect the handset coil cord from the base of the desk phone and re-connect it to the telephone interface cable junction box
• NOTE Use this setup if you are not using the HL10 lifter or EHS cable and your desk phone does not have a dedicated headset port. In this configuration, manually remove the handset on your desk phone and press the call control button on the headset to answer or end calls.

C) Desk phone + EHS cable (sold separately)

• IMPORTANT Use configuration A on the bottom of the base, which works for most phones including Cisco phones.

D) Desk phone + HL10 lifter (sold separately)

Plantronics Voyager 5200 Troubleshooting Guide

Callers can't hear me / I can't hear callers

• Make sure your Voyager 5200 headset is paired to your mobile phone
• Reposition the headset on your ear as the sensors may not work
• Download the Plantronics Hub and disable Wideband Audio

My headset doesn't give me 7 hours of talk time

• Make sure your headset is paired to your phone
• Disable Wideband Audio in the Plantronics Hub
• Let your headset completely run out of battery then give it a full charge
• Some phones have less efficient Bluetooth and will not give 7 hours of talk time on a single charge

Pairing your Voyager 5200

1. With the Voyager 5200 headset power on press and hold the call button until you hear "pairing"

2. While the headset LED lights start flashing blue and red, activate the Bluetooth on your mobile phone and search for new devices

3. Select PLT V5200

4. Once paired the LED lights will stop flashing and you'll hear "pairing successful"

Reset Sensors

1. Wearing the Voyager 5200, tap the call button to test sensors. A talk time voice alert means sensors are working. A tone means the sensors need to be reset.

2. To reset the sensors, power on the headset, connect the headset to your computer's USB port for more than 10 seconds.

3. You can disable your headset smart sensors through the Plantronics Hub software under the Settings 

Is your Voyager 5200 no longer working after the troubleshooting steps above?

Consider doing one of two things.

• Request a replacement from the manufacture if the headsets within th 1 year warranty.
• If out of the 1 year warranty, you'll want to order a new Voyager 5200 here or another two different models to consider is the AfterShokz Opencomm  and BlueParrott M300-XT

How Do I Pair And Use The Plantronics Voyager Focus?

Pairing t o a Cell Phone or Tablet

• Press and hold the pairing button on the headset towards the Bluetooth icon until you hear "Pairing" and the headset lights flash red/blue
• Go to the Bluetooth section on your phone or tablet (usually found in Settings) and search for new devices
• Select “PLT_Focus” from the Bluetooth list on your device. If necessary, enter four zeros (0000) for the passcode
• Once paired, you hear “Pairing successful” and the headset's lights stop flashing

Pairing to a Computer Via Bluetooth Dongle

• Insert Bluetooth dongle into a USB Port of your computer . It should automatically go into pairing mode. If it doesn't, use a pen or a paperclip to press and hold the tiny dimple button on the right side of your USB dongle until the light on the dongle flashes red/blue
• Pairing is usually automatic. If not, put the headset in pairing mode by pressing and holding the pairing button towards the Bluetooth icon until you hear "Pairing" and the headset lights flash red/blue
• When paired you will hear “Pairing Successful” in the headset
• You will need to go into the computer settings and set Plantronics BT600 as the default device to direct the computer sound to your headset.

NOTE: Your headset can pair with up to 8 devices but only maintain 2 connections simultaneously; this includes the Bluetooth USB adapter.

• Volume up and down is on the side opposite of the microphone at the top
• Play, pause, and skip are on the same side in the center of the ear pad
• The power button is in the center of the side with the microphone. This is also the button you use to answer calls
• The pairing button is above the side with the microphone
• Your mute button is just above the microphone
• Your battery and headset usage indicator light is just below the power/call answer button

Basic Troubleshooting

Your best bet for issues with this headset is to have go into your phone or tablet's Bluetooth and "Forget" or "Remove" the Plantronics headset (or in the case of a Bluetooth dongle, unplug the dongle) then follow the instructions above to pair it again.
