ACE-FX Travel Money Rates
AceFX’s exchange rates are ESTIMATED. The way our estimation works is this – we sampled each provider’s exchange rates through its website and made out an average margin per currency. Then we used an external provider to supply us with real-time currency rates and applied the margin previously calculated, per provider, per currency. These are indicative rates only, and we don’t guarantee these are the actual currency rates.

Helpful at shortish notice
I was in need of some money for my holiday at shortish notice from somewhere I could actually pick up in person without too many problems. ACE-FX at London Bridge could fulfil that. Not the best rates compared to some of their competitors, but slightly easier to deal with. One slight downside is that in order to get a better rate you have to order in advance and then transfer the money so you can pick it up a day or two later.

Easy to obtain US Dollars
I called Ace FX in the morning just after 9am asking whether I should buy my dollars in the shop or online. I was advised to buy online because there is a better rate. I did this and was able to collect my Dollars in the afternoon on the same day with photographic ID. Easy and seamless process.

No empathy or value for customers
Order submitted online. Was asked to read Ts & Cs. Read all exclusions and conditions. Took an hour off work to collect at the time indicated on their confirmation email. Was simply told we don’t buy your notes. What was the confirmation email about??!! Total waste of time and energy. Received a reluctant apology when leaving the store.

Good rates, awful service
Good rates, awful service at London Bridge branch. Placed a sale order online and the following day went to collect, only to be told it was bank transfer only and asked to write my account details on a scrap of paper. Slightly nervous about this but reassured that funds would be in my account by 5pm the following day and provided with a settlement advice receipt. Am still waiting for the funds to arrive and awful customer service when calling to chase. Avoid at all costs! Too much stress and hassle for a few more £ than established currency providers.

Terrible experience
Terrible experience! Needed to convert a sizeable amount of euros back into pounds. After placing an order online, went to the LB branch and was told only a bank transfer was possible. After 5 days of waiting for the money to arrive and countless times chasing with any number of excuses, I had to travel back into London to collect the money again as they were unable to process the transaction. Anyone looking to do the same, please swerve this company and use Coventgarden FX instead!

TRUSTWORTHY COMPANY
Exchanged 2200 euros by post and they paid into my bank account the next day after they received delivery. They even paid a slightly better rate than what was quoted when I created order. And no asking for extra documents or any other nonsense like that. I also contacted them before sending and they were quick to answer the phone and helped with a question I had, would definitely use again.

Competitive rates & great service
I've used a few FX firms over the years and ACE-FX are the best I've found. Rates are pretty competitive and their customer service excellent for home delivery Loving their new 'bank transfer' way to pay; much more secure than giving debit card details
Date of experience : 19 November 2021
Never had a problem
I've used this company many times now. Prices always competitive and never had a problem with any delivery. always Royal Mail signed for and never taken more than 2 days. My last order was made on a Monday afternoon and arrived on Wednesday morning. Free delivery on orders of £750+ which compares very favourably with other sites.

Absolute 5 star service
Absolute 5 star service. Whether it was my fault or a system error, our currency did not arrive yesterday. Frankie went out of his way, today on a Saturday and his day off, to personally deliver the currency to our address. Having used Ace-FX for many years and this is regard as service beyond expectations, thank you.

Concerned about this company
Having a real problem with this company. Sent leftover notes for cash back last week (RM Special Delivery) and they arrived Tuesday. Rang Wednesday and was told I would get a call back in 30 minutes once my package had been located, no phone call and still not been paid yet (it's Monday of the following week now), can't get the phone answered. Emailed customer services last Thursday and they were going to locate my package but still waiting for a response. It was definitely signed for at their address so have they lost it??

Amazing service and speedy transaction
Amazing service and speedy transaction from cash Euros into my sterling account. Michael was very reassuring and professional, and kept me up to date on progress. Great rate too of course, saved £££’s by using Ace-Fx. Thank you!

The 'friction' is all about £1.
The 'friction' is all about £1. This charge is so small but it generates ill will and a feeling of petty money-grabbing. RyanAir springs to mind as a company that manages to generate ill will and resentment among its customers. I want my regular FX/money changer to treat me like a local and valued customer. £1 charge does not do that....
Date of experience : 04 October 2017
Great service - slight delay handled really well
Great service: booked a currency sale for some Omani Rials & took them to the London Bridge office. All good, except some of the new Omani notes I had been given were not on the Ace-FX system, so they could not initially identify them. Instead, I was given a receipt & the notes were sent to head office overnight for checking. As agreed, I had a call the next morning to say all were good, and when I returned to complete the sale, they gave me the new rate for the day, which improved the exchange in my favour. So, a slight hiccup, but couldn't have been solved in a more helpful & direct way, so I was happy with the service.
Date of experience : 13 July 2022
Fantastic and speedy service
Fantastic and speedy service! Will definitely be using this company again and would highly recommend them to anyone thinking of buying or selling euros. I sold €590 euros and the next day I received a text message advising the money would be in my account within 4 working days and it was there the following day! Really impressed. Thank you!

Incompetent Manager at FX Canada Place
I went to Canada Place Ace FX bureau in Canary Wharf during mid-day. The service was appalling. The manager of the office is even worse, as in only minutes, he managed to demonstrate very clearly that he is lazy, careless, arrogant and does not have a clue of what customer service means. I went to withdraw USD and they did not have either 1, 5 or 10 dollar notes and they did not care at all. How is it even possible? Are they not supposed to prepare for the day and ensure they have enough varied denominations? (this was a quiet day so clearly no excuse relating to volumes would be acceptable). The cherry on the cake is that this same incompetent manager was apparently not in the mood so decided to refuse to provide any dollars at all despite the fact I had pre-ordered online. This totally incompetent manager needs to be removed with immediate effect.
Date of experience : 03 May 2022
Avoid at all cost
This is by far the worst exchange in London with unbelievable level of rudeness and racism. The Head of International Transfers at Canada Square branch can barely speak in a civilised way or behave with the minimal humanity manner. Including but not limited to through money and ID at people, refuse client who request smaller notes base on skin tone, yell at client to push for rush decision benefit their side, threaten to call police and security if you ask for apology. The only word can describe the feeling I have experienced here is nauseous. If you want to experience and witness it in this modern world please go to this exchange, otherwise please avoid it at all cost! Zero star to this exchange without any doubt. The only one star is to Canary Wharf Security team who expressed their full understanding and actual support in putting the case forward to justice.
Date of experience : 28 September 2022
Not even worth a star… made my life…
Not even worth a star… made my life complicated and despite of fixing my rate online and been ready to collect the amount from the branch ,they couldnt , stating that they need proof of literally everything…offering me only just a partof the money to be exchanged … ridiculous, how would i have know that in advance as nowhere has been clearly stated apart from a proof of ID …. Avoid at all means… not helpful whatsoever
Date of experience : 02 March 2023
Ordered £1000 worth of euros to be…
Ordered £1000 worth of euros to be delivered, delivery missed on 30th May and currency sent back to the post office. After weeks of chasing ACX, they advised that the package was returned by the post office but the money had gone. I then was told I had to raise a claim and it would take up to 30 days. I have yet to receive any money refunded it and update on the claim. It is now 5th Sept, therefore ACX has had my money for 3 months. Appalling service from ACX and will not use again! Read the small print as ACX do not take any responsibility for loss of currency when delivering it to customers

Banks for International Money Transfers
Banks are usually not a good solution to send money internationally as they usually take an important margin on the exchange rate when converting your money.

Why Trust Monito?

Matt Crabtree
Are you travelling abroad? Do you need to exchange your British pounds for another currency? Before converting money, knowing the best currency exchange rates is key. These rates can help you maximise the travel money you receive for your pounds.
It's well worth looking into the best currency exchange rates. However, knowing the ideal options can take time. Today's article will focus on these rates. Keep reading this article to learn about currency exchange rates and some information on the latest currency news.
What Are Currency Exchange Rates?
The currency exchange rate describes the cost of one currency in relation to the currency of another country.
It can be thought of as the amount of currency you can buy using another currency. For instance, if the exchange rate is 1.2, and you exchange pounds for United States dollars, you will receive $1.20 for each pound.
Regarding the latest currency news, the rate at which you can convert Pounds to United States Dollars is 1.26, and the rate for Euros is 1.15.
Currency Exchange Rates and Services Pros and Cons
A couple of advantageous factors and drawbacks apply to currency exchange rate services.
Here are the main factors to bear in mind.
✔️ Cheaper than making card payments — You'll find that using currency exchange services and exchanging pounds is cheaper than making card payments abroad. It helps you make savings.
✔️ Lock-in rates — You can lock in the exchange rates with some services. This means you'll receive the rate you viewed online after selecting a currency pair when you collect and buy foreign currency.
❌️ Exchange rate movements — Movements in exchange rates mean the value at which you swap pounds for foreign currency can increase or decrease in line with financial markets. It's therefore essential to look carefully at the service's rates and use a currency converter . If you don't lock in the rate or the service doesn't offer this option, you may miss out on more favourable rates.
❌️ Transaction fees — You'll need to pay transaction fees in many cases. Foreign currency services impose these fees and can be a percentage of the transaction amount. In other cases, this fee can be a flat fee.

1. Tesco Bank Travel Money
When we used Tesco Bank Travel Money, we found that this provider offers two main services. We could click and collect our foreign currency and use the home delivery feature.
When we used the click-and-collect feature, we had the choice of 500 stores and did not need to pay to collect the foreign currency.
When we selected home delivery, we received free delivery after placing an order worth £500. Many foreign currencies are available, including the New Zealand dollar, the United States dollar and the Canadian dollar.
