Want to go bowfishing and floundering at night? All you need is your fishing license and a camera, because all the equipment you’ll need is supplied.

Captain Newsom’s master captains are CPR and First Aid certified, as well as Coast Guard licensed and certified. They take every necessary step to make sure you have a safe and enjoyable experience.

• On a 50-minute Mangrove Tunnel Airboat Tour (the tour you're looking at now), you'll zip through Everglades City's twisting mangrove tunnels, world-famous waterways shared by multiple tour companies. Boats seat a maximum of 6 guests.
• Add a 30-minute Grassland Airboat Tour to explore an exclusive mangrove and grassland preserve under wide-open sky. Boats seat about 15 guests.
• Add a 30-minute Swamp Buggy Tour to explore exclusive grasslands and cypress forests from a raised buggy, which seats about 20 guests.
• For the shortest wait, we'll seat you on the first available airboats, which may have 6 or 10 seats.
• We try to keep groups together, but we may split your group onto multiple airboats.
• Other people may be seated with you.
• Infants must be assigned a seat, even if they sit on your lap.
• A Private Mangrove Tunnel Airboat Tour ensures your party gets an entire airboat to yourself to see Everglades City's famous mangrove tunnels.

Don't use Uber, Lyft, or other ride-sharing services. They can't pick you up when you're done!

• Yes, all ages are welcome on all our tours.
• Any passengers aged 17 or younger must be accompanied by at least one passenger who is aged 18 or older.
• Coast Guard regulations require everyone, even infants on your lap, to buy a seat.
• Consider bringing sunblock, bug spray, and comfortable shoes and clothes.
• You might get a little wet from small splashes and spray.
• If rain is forecasted, we recommend bringing a poncho.
• Many guests see wild alligators, birds, and other wildlife on their airboat and buggy tours, but Mother Nature makes no guarantees, so neither can we.
• You will definitely see alligators and other rescued animals in our Animal Sanctuary , an attraction included with all our tours.
• Our tours run rain or shine, except when there's a thunderstorm.
• We don't refund bookings if you cancel too close to a tour's departure time (check the policy when booking).
• Sometimes we need to delay due to thunderstorms or other unforeseen circumstances. We'll do our best to reschedule or issue a refund.
• Our airboat docks are handicap accessible, but wheelchairs can’t be loaded onto our airboats.
• If anyone in your party is using a wheelchair, please be sure they can move from the wheelchair onto the airboat.
• For everyone's safety, pets and service animals are not allowed in the Animal Sanctuary , near the boat launch, on airboats, or on swamp buggies.
• Service animals are allowed only in the gift shop, restrooms, and picnic areas.

Capt. Josh Davis brings with him over 20 years of on-the-water experience to provide solutions to clients with wetlands transportation and work project needs..   A native of the area, he has been working, traveling, fishing and hunting the rivers, marshes, and offshore waters of the Gulf of Mexico since he was very young. Capt. Davis founded a charter fishing and hunting guide service in 1992 and through that experience, Wetlands transportation was born. He was a certified diver at the age of 12 and has, through service in the United States Navy and 19 years as a firefighter and emergency dive team member, continued to use that experience to lead and educate.  Captain Davis’ extensive maritime knowledge allows him to provide safe and reliable transportation through the rivers, marshes and the Gulf of Mexico while providing and operating the equipment needed to provide solutions for clients.

Brazoria National Wildlife Refuge

A combination of freshwater and saline environments, Brazoria is home to a diversity of coastal wildlife, including more than 320 species of birds, 95 species of reptiles and amphibians, and 130 species of butterflies and dragonflies. The estuary provides ample food resources for large populations of wintering waterfowl, shore and wading birds that are easily seen from the auto tour at Big Slough. The newly opened Cannan Bend Recreation Area provides additional wildlife viewing opportunities on a freshwater lake and near coastal forest.

Incoming tides of the costal refuge combine life-giving nourishment from the Gulf with fresh river waters to create one of the most biologically rich environments in Texas. Brazoria provides thousands of acres of coastal estuary that support nursery grounds for fish, shellfish and insects. This in turn provides habitat for large populations of wintering waterfowl, wading and shorebirds. Brazoria also manages more than 10,000 acres of coastal prairie that once dominated the landscape across Louisiana and Texas. 

Refuges use a wide range of land management tools based on the best science available. The management tools used are aimed at ensuring a balanced conservation approach where both wildlife and people will benefit. 

Our Species

Brazoria National Wildlife Refuge reflects the ebb and flow of life in one of the richest environments on earth. The refuge is part of the Great Texas Coastal Birding Trail and lies in the Central Flyway which includes both coastal and trans-oceanic bird migration paths. This makes the year round birding great!
