Sunset on Big Red. Jun 2019 • Couples. We took the Sunset Tour including the tour of Birdsville with it's sights and history. Then off to look at the old Diamentina River crossing and into the desert and sunset on Big Red. The view in all directions is mind blowing.

At the end of an afternoon in iconic Birdsville, our day was completed when Martin arrived outside the Hotel in a sleek 4WD. After taking one of us around the town and immediate environs he returned to pick me up from a return Arid Air flight over the spectacular channel country from the Burke and Wills Dig Tree and off we set to Big Red, the giant red dune about 30 minutes drive away.
