Ticket availability is extremely limited, and some ticket options will be unavailable.

Ticketholders can resell any or all of their tickets, including the lead booker ticket, via AXS or Ticketmaster.

Ticket info update for the Eras Tour

A new email has been sent out to everyone who pre-registered for the Ticket sales via Ticketmaster.

Swifties were informed that a limited number of registrants will now have the opportunity to access the ticket sale and everyone else will be placed on the waitlist.

Due to the huge demand for the UK shows and to ensure the maximum amount of fans get access to tickets, the registrants will be randomly selected for the opportunity to access the ticket sale.

For UK dates, ticket inventory will be split evenly between the official ticket agents Ticketmaster and AXS.

If you are selected, you will be randomly assigned a unique non-transferable access code to either Ticketmaster or AXS.

Registrants who are selected to receive a code for Taylor Swift's Eras Tour ticket sale will have the opportunity to access the sale for the specific city they registered for. Access to sales will be limited to the specific shows that are on sale on a specific day.

If you are selected, ticket company AEG Presents urges fans to "please read your email carefully to see which days on sales you have access to."

All registrants will receive a further email from either Ticketmaster or AXS confirming their selected/waitlist status by 11.59 pm Friday, July 14 .

The ticketing firm adds: "Successful registrants will be selected at random to receive access codes. If you are not initially selected, you will be placed on the waiting list to receive a code.

"If you are placed on the waitlist, and any further tickets become available, you may be sent an email to join the sale. Tickets will be sold on a first-come first-served basis while currently available inventory lasts."

Taylor Swift performs

Swifties across the country have been reaching whole new levels of excitement as tickets for the much-anticipated Taylor Swift Eras Tour go on sale this week.

The Blank Space singer, 33, recently released another ‘Taylor’s Version’ album – Speak Now – following studio album Midnights, and has taken these tracks and more from her back catalogue on the road.

But it seems safe to say some fans have had a rocky experience in trying to get a hold of coveted Eras Tour tickets.

Pre-ordering the album Midnights allowed fans to get onto the pre-sale list, with more fans taking part in the general sale – in a bid to see Tay Tay live in the UK for one of 13 shows.

Three of those concerts are set to take place in Scotland city Edinburgh – which means one of the world’s biggest pop stars will perform at the BT Murrayfield Stadium.

With that in mind, let’s take a look at the venue Swift is going to be playing…

What is the capacity of Murrayfield Stadium Edinburgh?

Bruce Springsteen filled Murrayfield Stadium's 67,000 capacity and no doubt Taylor Swift will, too

According to VisitScotland , BT Murrayfield Stadium is the largest stadium in Scotland and has the capacity to hold 67,144 people.

Murrayfield is usually a sports stadium and is commonly referred to as the home of Scottish Rugby.

On April 21, 1925, Scotland marked a triumph over their ‘Auld Enemy’ rivals, England, in achieving a Grand Slam with the inauguration of the Murrayfield Stadium.

Taylor Swift is not the first famous musician to play at the stadium – One Direction, Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen, Robbie Williams, Foo Fighters, Madonna, and The Rolling Stones have all chosen the venue for their Scottish tour shows in the past.

What is the seating plan of Murrayfield Stadium Edinburgh?

Murrayfield comprises two tiers of banked seating and a large standing-only area in front of the stage.

How much are Taylor Swift Eras Tour tickets?

Presale tickets are priced as follows:

  • Seated ticket – £58.65 – £194.75
  • General admission standing – £110.40
  • Front standing – £172.25.

You can find out more about pricing with the full price list and complete guide to Taylor’s VIP packages .

When are Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour Edinburgh dates?

Taylor Swift is set to play three shows at Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh next year:

  • Friday, June 7 2024
  • Saturday, June 8 2024
  • Sunday, June 9 2024

Taylor Swift is about to go back on tour: Here's what to expect on the Eras Tour in Paris

edinburgh taylor swift eras tour

After a two-month break, Taylor Swift is revitalizing her titanic Eras Tour in Paris, and fans believe there are changes coming to the show.

If you are wondering where she's playing, if there will be changes and how to score tickets, here's everything we know.

And if you're new to the Eras Tour party, you can get caught up on the first 83 shows here .

When does the Eras Tour start again?

Swift kicks off the European leg of her tour on Thursday, May 9, in Paris. She will perform Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, as well, in the City of Light.

Need a break? Play the USA TODAY Daily Crossword Puzzle.

What are Taylor Swift's tour dates in Europe?

There are 69 shows left in the Eras Tour: 51 in Europe, nine in America and nine in Canada.

The European leg stretches from May all the way through a five-night stand at Wembley Stadium in London in mid-August.

See a complete list of international dates here .

After she wraps up in Europe, Swift will stop in Miami, New Orleans and Indianapolis before wrapping up in Canada.

See the remaining U.S. dates here .

What is the Eras Tour set list?

The Eras Tour has featured a massive 45-song set list you can check out here . But speculation is swirling it won't look the same when Swift takes the stage in Paris.

Will Taylor Swift add 'The Tortured Poets Department' to her set list?

The tortured poet has been on hiatus keeping her stamina up by releasing a double album of 31 tracks. The 2-hours-and-2-minutes project broke a number of Billboard records as the superstar did zero press to promote it. Fans flocked to stores and streaming services to listen to all the songs from "Fortnight" to "The Manuscript."

Although the singer has not confirmed whether her 11th era album will be added to her Eras Tour set list, she did post a YouTube shorts video with two scenes that sent Easter egg decoders into a frenzy. In one of the shots, the singer is next to a railing where a "TTPD" logo appears to be (at 0:11). In the succeeding shot, her back-up dancers perform holding canes and wearing top hats, something they have not worn previously.

Swift's dancers and bandmates posted to their Instagram stories as they left for France last week. The singer did not appear at two media events with her boyfriend Travis Kelce: the Kentucky Derby and a Formula 1 race in Miami , Florida. Patrick Mahomes, Kelce's friend and Kansas City's quarterback, attended the car racing spectacular with his wife, Brittany.

Can I still get Eras Tour tickets?

Swift's show is completely sold out in Europe and North America. There are resale sites with tickets, but be wary of scams. The best way to avoid getting swindled is continuously checking links on Swift's website . There are some for resale on the sites verified by her camp.

Singapore was a hotbed for fans who traveled thousands of miles only to get turned away at the venue. In Tokyo and Australia, last-minute ticket drops happened a few days — without announcement — ahead of the shows.

Miami, New Orleans and Indianapolis — the three U.S. cities Swift is visiting in the fall — have some of the heftiest price tags with Canada closely behind. In may be cheaper to travel to Warsaw, Poland, or Gelsenkirchen, Germany. Here's a list of cities with the cheapest resale tickets, according to travel website  Islands.com .

10. Vienna, Austria — total average cost: $1,089, safety score: 69.72

9. Cardiff, U.K. — total average cost: $1,061, safety score: 61.83

8. Lyon, France — total average cost: $1,047, safety score: 44.3

7. Lisbon, Portugal — total average cost: $1,028, safety score: 70.15

6. Munich, Germany — total average cost: $1,000, safety score: 78.88

5. Paris, France — total average cost: $971, safety score: 41.83

4. Stockholm, Sweden — total average cost: $935, safety score: 53.86

3. Hamburg, Germany — total average cost: $903, safety score: 57.51

2. Gelsenkirchen, Germany — total average cost: $749, safety score: 51.33

1. Warsaw, Poland — total average cost: $712, safety score: 72.98

Who are the opening acts?

Paramore launched the Eras Tour in Glendale, Arizona, in March 2023, so it's fitting the American rock band is opening the tour's second year. The act will open for Swift for 51 shows across Europe . The band was dubbed the 2024 Record Store Day global ambassador and surprised fans in Nashville the weekend following the release of "The Tortured Poets Department."

When the tour comes back to North America in October , Swift's opening act will be Gracie Abrams.

Where can I watch if I don't have tickets?

The Eras Tour is one of the first tours that has been followed, globally, by thousands of fans on digital platforms. Fans dedicate part of their concert experience to livestreaming as Swift performs. A few Swifties have learned how to host their own shows over social media including Tess Bohne , known as the livestream queen. Bohne goes live for (almost) every show pulling streams from Instagram and TikTok. When a livestream goes down, she fills the time with banter.

On YouTube, user @TaylorSwiftHockeyBro also livestreams the three-hour show, and on Twitch, @folkleric , is a host fans follow.

There is also an app, Swift Alert , that notifies fans who only want to watch certain eras like the acoustic, surprise set. The app sends out push alerts if there are any major announcements.

What secret songs are left?

For the past 83 shows, Swift has played an acoustic set she customizes at each stop with a guitar and piano performance. In 2024, the Eras Tour star added mashups of her songs for each stop. Here are the songs she has yet to perform:

  • "Taylor Swift" (debut album): "Mary's Song" and "A Perfectly Good Heart"
  • "Fearless": "The Way I Loved You," "Change," "Superstar," "We Were Happy," "That's When," "Don't You" and "Bye Bye Baby"

A college is hosting a sold-out Taylor Swift masterclass for parents ahead of the star's UK tour

  • A UK college is running a crash course on all things Taylor Swift ahead of her UK tour.
  • The one-day course is aimed at parents and plus ones of Swifties.
  • The college says the course will provide "the full Love Story on all things Eras Tour."

Insider Today

A college in Scotland is running a crash course on all things Taylor Swift ahead of the pop star's UK leg of her Eras Tour .

The one-day course held by Glasgow Clyde College is aimed at parents and plus-ones of Swifties set to attend the singer's three-night stopover in Edinburgh.

The college says the course will provide "the full Love Story on all things Eras Tour to help them have the best night of their lives."

"From set lists and crowd chants to need-to-know information on each Era, the course, which is being delivered by a Taylor Swift expert, will give members of the public a whistle-stop lesson that'll leave them ready for the gig," the college says on its website.

The Eras Tour, which has already become the highest-grossing tour of all time, pays tribute to Swift's first 10 studio albums and the unique styles and staging that accompanied them.

The release of the singer's 11th studio album, "The Tortured Poets Department," in April could mean that the setlist will change from previous legs of the tour, however — but the college seems likely to have that covered.

Glasgow Clyde College assistant principal Robert Anderson told local media outlet The Scotsman : "Taylor mania doesn't seem to be slowing anytime soon, and we expect it'll reach its peak here in Scotland in June. We understand that not everyone will be up to speed on all things Taylor and might not get the full Eras experience," he said.

"That's why we created this masterclass - to prepare those who'll be heading along to the gig with their superfan kids, friends or partners to ensure they have just as memorable a time," he continued. "Taylor's gigs are known for being so well crafted, and unless you're a fan yourself, you might miss some of the iconic moments."

The course is due to be held on May 7, one month before Swift kicks off her UK tour.

European cities could benefit from Swift's tour

Swift is taking her Eras Tour to 18 European cities this summer , and many are hoping Swifties will splash the cash as they arrive.

The tour has already boosted the US, Singaporean, and Australian economies, with eager fans spending big on things like travel, accommodation, and merchandise.

While the UK and the rest of Europe have yet to feel the full effect of Swift's presence, the price of hotels and short-term rental homes across Scotland have shot up as opportunistic hoteliers and rental hosts have sought to take advantage of increased demand for accommodation.

Around 200,000 people are expected to attend across the star's three performances at Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh.

Marc Crothall, chief executive of the Scottish Tourism Alliance, told Business Insider that there would be a "ripple effect" from the shows that will be felt across Scotland.

"We're a small country. It's important that those who are coming from further afield, don't just go straight back to where they came from," he said, adding that they would hopefully go and visit some other parts of Scotland.

Fans are following Taylor Swift to Europe after finding Eras Tour tickets less costly there

Thousands of Taylor Swift fans are following her across the pond after missing out on her U.S. concert tour last year or being put off by marked-up ticket prices.

Taylor Swift fans drinking at The Black Dog in Vauxhall, south London, said they were there thanks to the track “The Black Dog,” in which the singer describes monitoring an unnamed ex’s visit “into some bar called The Black Dog,” through location share on her phone.

LONDON (AP) — Thousands of ride-or-die Taylor Swift fans who missed out on her U.S. concert tour last year or didn’t want to buy exorbitantly priced tickets to see her again found an out-of-the-way solution: Fly to Europe.

The pop star is scheduled to kick off the 18-city Europe leg of her record-setting Eras Tour in Paris on Thursday, and planeloads of Swifties plan to follow Miss Americana across the pond in the coming weeks. The arena where Swift is appearing said Americans bought 20% of the tickets for her four sold-out shows. Stockholm, the tour’s next stop, expects about 10,000 concertgoers from the U.S.

A concert might sound like an odd raison d’etre for visiting a foreign country, especially when fans can watch the Eras Tour from home via the documentary now streaming on Disney+. Yet online travel company Expedia says continent-hopping by Swift’s devotees is part of a larger trend it dubbed “tour tourism” while observing a pattern that emerged during Beyoncé's Renaissance world tour .

Some North American fans who plan to fly overseas for the Eras Tour said they justified the expense after noticing that tighter restrictions on ticket fees and resales in Europe made seeing Swift perform abroad no more costly — and potentially cheaper — than catching her closer to home .

“They said, ’Wait a minute, I can either spend $1,500 to go see my favorite artist in Miami, or I can take that $1,500 and buy a concert ticket, a round-trip plane ticket, and three nights in a hotel room,” Melanie Fish, an Expedia spokesperson and travel expert, said.

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz beams while holding up the so-called Taylor Swift bill he signed into law as lawmakers, First Avenue employees and online ticket buyers clap Tuesday, May 7, 2024, inside the First Avenue concert venue in Minneapolis. The law, prompted by the frustration a legislator felt at not being able to buy tickets to Swift's 2023 concert in Minneapolis, will require ticket sellers to disclose all fees up front and prohibit resellers from selling more than one copy of a ticket for live events held in Minnesota, among other measures. That was the experience of Jennifer Warren, 43, who lives in St. Catharines, a city in the Niagara region of Ontario. She and her 11-year-old son love Swift but had no luck scoring what she considered as decently priced tickets in the U.S. Undeterred, Warren and her husband decided to plan a European vacation around wherever she managed to get seats. It turned out to be Hamburg, Germany.

AP AUDIO: Fans are following Taylor Swift to Europe after finding Eras Tour tickets less costly there

AP correspondent Jennifer King reports Taylor Swift is heading to Europe, and her U.S. fans are following.

“You get out, you get to see the world, and you get to see your favorite artist or performer at the same time, so there are a lot of wins to it,” said Warren, who works as the director of research and innovation for a mutual insurance company.

The three VIP tickets she secured close to the stage — “I would call it brute-force dumb luck” — cost 600 euros ($646) each. Swift subsequently announced six November tour dates in Toronto, within driving distance of Warren’s home. “Absolute nose-bleed seats” already are going for 3,000 Canadian dollars ($2,194) on secondary resale sites like Viagogo, Warren said.

TOUR TOURISM: IS IT REALLY A THING?

Hard-core fans trailing their favorite singer or band on tour is not a new phenomenon. “Groupie” emerged in the late 1960s as a somewhat derogatory word for the ardent followers of rock bands. Deadheads took to the road in the 1970s to pursue the Grateful Dead from city to city.

More recently, music festivals like California’s Coachella and England’s Glastonbury, and concert residencies in Las Vegas by the likes of Elton John, Lady Gaga and Adele, have attracted travelers to places they wouldn’t otherwise visit, Fish noted.

Travel and entertainment analysts have also spoken of a pent-up consumer demand for “experiences” over material objects since the coronavirus pandemic. Some think the willingness of music lovers to broaden their fandom horizons is part of the same mass cultural correction.

“It does seem like it’s more than a structural shift, maybe a personality transformation we all went through,” said Natalia Lechmanova, the chief Europe economist for the Mastercard Economics Institute.

As Swift hopscotches across Europe, Lechmanova expects restaurants and hotels to see the same boost that Mastercard observed within a 2.5-mile (4-kilometer) radius of concert venues in the U.S. cities she visited in 2023. The U.S. dollar’s strong value against the euro may also increase retail spending on apparel, memorabilia, beauty products and supplies for the friendship bracelets fans exchange as part of the Eras Tour experience, the economist said.

Former college roommates Lizzy Hale, 34, who lives in Los Angeles, and Mitch Goulding, 33, who lives in Austin, Texas, already had tickets to see the Eras Tour in L.A. last summer when they decided to try to get ones for Paris, London or Edinburgh, Scotland, too. They saw a Europe concert trip as a makeup for travel plans they had in May 2020 to celebrate Goulding’s birthday but had to cancel due to the pandemic.

Goulding managed to secure VIP tickets for one of Swift’s three Stockholm shows. He, Hale and two other friends scheduled a 10-day trip that also includes time in Amsterdam and Copenhagen.

“As people who enjoy traveling and enjoy music, if you can find an opportunity to combine the two, it’s really special,” said Hale, who is pregnant with her first child.

FOR STOCKHOLM, 120,000 SWIFTIES CAN’T BE WRONG

The local economic impact of what the zeitgeist has termed “Swiftonomics” and the “Swift lift” can be considerable . It’s no wonder the exclusive arrangement Singapore’s government made with Swift to make the city-state her only tour stop in Southeast Asia earlier this year aroused regional jealousy .

No European governments have complained of their countries not being among the dozen selected for the Europe leg of the Eras Tour, although some fans have expressed surprise that Gelsenkirchen, a city with a population of about 264,000 is one of the three cities in Germany that made the cut.

Airbnb reported Tuesday that searches on its platform for the U.K. cities where Swift is performing in June and August — Edinburgh, Liverpool, Cardiff and London — increased an average of 337% when tickets went on sale last summer.

Not to be outdone when it comes to trend-spotting, the property rentals company cited the demand as an example of “passion tourism,” or travel “driven by concerts, sports and other cultural events.”

In Stockholm , 120,000 out-of-towners from 130 countries -- among them 10,000 from the U.S. — are expected to swarm Sweden’s capital this month, Stockholm Chamber of Commerce Chief Economist Carl Bergqvist said. Stockholm is the only Scandinavian city on Swift’s tour, and airlines added extra flights from nearby Denmark, Finland and Norway to bring people to the May 17-19 shows, he said.

The city’s 40,000 hotel rooms are sold out even though prices skyrocketed for the tour dates, Bergqvist said. Concert visitors are expected to pump around 500 million Swedish kroner, or over $46 million, into the local economy over the course of their stays, an estimate that does not include what they paid for Swift tickets or to get to Sweden, he said.

“So this is going to be huge for the tourism sector in Sweden and Stockholm in particular,” Bergqvist said.

Nightclubs, restaurants and bars are seizing the opportunity to cater to fans with Taylor Swift-themed events, such as karaoke, quizzes and after-concert dance parties.

Houston resident Caroline Matlock, 29, saw Swift more than a year ago when the Eras Tour came to the Texas city. Now she’s making more friendship bracelets and trying to learn a few words of Swedish as she prepares to see the 3 1/2-hour show in Stockholm. The idea of seeing Swift in Europe was her friend’s, and Matlock needed some persuading at first.

“I was like, ‘I only want to go if it’s a country I haven’t been to. I’ve seen Taylor Swift,’” she said.

Visiting the Scandinavian cities of Oslo and Gothenburg is on their itinerary. The concert is the last night of the trip and Matlock looks forward to interacting with Swifties from other countries: “Americans tend to have a very obsessive culture, especially Taylor Swift-related, so I’m curious if the crowd will be more toned-down.”

WILL TOUR TOURISM ENDURE AFTER ERAS?

It remains to be seen if the music tourism trend has legs as long and strong as Swift’s and Beyoncé's, and if it will carry over to Billie Eilish, Usher and other artists with world tours scheduled next year. Expedia’s Fish thinks other big-name artists in Europe this summer will prove that booking a foreign trip around a concert is catching on.

Kat Morga, a travel consultant based in Nashville, isn’t so sure. Morga saw Swift perform in Nashville last year and helped two clients with school-aged children book European family vacations this summer that include seeing Swift in concert. But she thinks the difficulty of navigating ticket purchases through language barriers, currency conversions, international banking regulations and the risk of cancellations will limit the appeal of regular gig getaways.

“I think this is an anomaly,” Morga said. “People aren’t typically going to build their $20,000 huge family vacation only because Taylor Swift is there. She’s the one-off. She’s special.”

Booking Holdings CEO Glenn Fogel, whose company operates Booking.com, priceline.com, agoda.com, Kayak and OpenTable, is even less enthusiastic about concert tours as a tourism instigator. The Swift Effect causes a “little blip” when the superstar goes to smaller destinations, but for the worldwide travel industry, “one star touring around does not make a difference,” he said.

“It may just shift it a little bit. A person was going to go to the Caribbean for a week vacation. Instead that person (says), ‘Let’s travel to the Taylor Swift thing,’” Fogel said. “It doesn’t increase it. It just moves it from here to there.”

AP journalists Colleen Barry in Milan, Chisato Tanaka in Stockholm, Anne D’Innocenzio in New York, David Koenig in Dallas, Thomas Adamson in Paris and Brian Melley in London contributed reporting.

Hotel prices in Edinburgh soar ahead of Taylor Swift Scottish shows

Thousands of Swifties are set to descend on the capital from around the world when she plays her record-breaking shows on June 7, 8, and 9.

Swifties are in for a Cruel Summer as the price of Edinburgh hotels are averaging £686 per night ahead of the Eras Tour shows at Murrayfield.

Thousands of Taylor Swift fans are set to descend on the capital when she plays her record-breaking shows on June 7, 8, and 9.

Ahead of the sold out shows, Edinburgh City Council granted organisers permission to increase the stadium’s capacity from 67,130 to 72,990.

The subsequent spike in demand means many fans who have already forked out up to £660 for a ticket have been priced out of stays in the city.

Analysis of the advertised online rates at AirBnB, Booking.com and Expedia by marketing firm Searchbloom found Edinburgh’s most expensive stay was the night of the American singer-songwriter’s opening performance, with rooms on the evening of Saturday’s show averaging just £3 less.

The average one-night-stay in Edinburgh on Friday, June 7 comes in at an eye-watering £686.67.

Bosses at one of Glasgow’s top hotels, the new AC Hotel by Marriott Glasgow, say Swifties finding nothing but Blank Space when looking for places to stay in Edinburgh are driving a spike in demand for Glasgow hotels.

The hotel is situated just a few minutes walk from Glasgow Queen Street station where regular direct trains to Haymarket, the closest station to Scottish Gas Murrayfield, take less than an hour.

ScotRail recently announced they would be adding extra carriages and services to and from Glasgow to accommodate fans.

A search on trainline.com found return tickets for only £16, with the last train leaving from Haymarket at 11.50pm.

Rooms on Friday night at the AC Hotel by Marriott Glasgow currently come in at just £209, which despite being higher than normal, pale in comparison to hotels on the other end of the M8.

Other Edinburgh hotels, which are typically priced similarly, are currently selling rooms for nearly four times the price at £786.

Craig Munro, general manager at the four star AC Hotel by Marriott Glasgow, said the Swift weekender is already the hotel’s most popular date since it opened in Glasgow’s new £100m Love Loan development in November last year.

He said: “Demand for rooms is far exceeding supply. We closely monitor rates across the city and they are already around 25% higher than normal — but that’s nothing compared to Edinburgh.

“There has been a knock-on effect which has triggered a sharp rise in demand in Glasgow. I reckon the city will be completely full on Friday and Saturday.

“Given our proximity to Queen Street station, we’re seeing the direct benefit of tourists staying in Glasgow and commuting to Edinburgh, not only for Taylor Swift but for other popular events like the Edinburgh Marathon, and during the Fringe too.

“Scotland’s two major cities being so close together is extremely attractive to tourists. I think Edinburgh also benefits from the amazing events that come to Glasgow. It’s undoubtedly a new ‘era’ for Glasgow – it’s becoming increasingly popular as a tourist destination.”
