Start planning your ticket strategy now, because Taylor Swift is officially going on tour in 2023.

As many fans suspected, Taylor is embarking on tour in support of the many albums she's released since 2017's Reputation and its tour in 2018, including Lover , evermore , folklore , Midnights and all the Taylor's Version re-records . Because that's a lot to pack into one tour, Taylor has cleverly titled her latest trip around the United States the "Eras Tour," and in her own words, it's been "a long time coming." (And if you're overseas, don't worry — she'll be heading your way too!)

Taylor shared the big news on Instagram with a pic of the tour poster, which features images from Fearless, Lover , and Red, among several others. "I’m enchanted to announce my next tour: Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour, a journey through the musical eras of my career (past and present!)" she wrote. "The first leg of the tour will be in stadiums across the US, with international dates to be announced as soon as we can!" When does The Eras Tour kickoff?

Taylor Swift's The Eras Tour will kickoff in Glendale, Arizona on March 18 and wrap on August 5 in Los Angeles. If you live near a major U.S. city, you're in luck, as she's stopping at some of the biggest stadiums in the nation, including Atlanta, Nashville, Philadelphia, Chicago and Seattle.

Who are the openers for The Eras Tour?

Taylor will be bringing some of her friends along for the ride as special guests on The Eras Tour! Paramore, Phoebe Bridgers , Girl in Red, Haim, MUNA, Gracie Abrams, beabadoobee, Gayle, and Owenn will join her at specific stops along the four-month tour.

When are tickets for The Eras Tour going on sale?

Taylor has partnered with Ticketmaster's Verified Fan program for The Eras Tour. Fans can register here for the Verified Fan presale from November 1 to November 9 at 11:59 p.m. ET. According to the tour press release, registered fans who receive a code will have exclusive access to purchase tickets on Tuesday, November 15 starting at 10 a.m. their local venue time. If you or a family member are a Capital One cardholder, you can also get exclusive presale tickets — you'll have priority access to buy tix on November 15 at 2 p.m. local venue time until 10 p.m. on November 17, or until tickets last.

Ticket prices will range from $49 up to $449, and VIP packages will start at $199 up to $899 on a first come, first served basis. If you were previously a Lover Fest Verified Fan purchaser, you'll receive preferred access to participate in the presale. Public on-sale of The Era Tour tickets will begin on Friday, November 18 at 10 a.m. local venue time. Get ready!

Taylor Swift unveiled another merch collection Tuesday (Feb. 28) ahead of her Eras Tour.

The “Through the Eras” collection features 10 T-shirts, each themed to a separate album by the superstar — from her 2006 self-titled debut and 2010’s Speak Now to 2020’s dual Folklore and Evermore and 2022’s Midnights . Each shirt features graphics of Taylor from the particular album era on the front and the list of cities on the hotly anticipated tour route on the back. (For the record, both 2008’s Fearless and 2012’s Red get a (Taylor’s Version) remake in the drop.)

Friendship bracelets fans gave Taylor Swift during Eras Tour on display in Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Many of the friendship bracelets given to Taylor Swift on the Eras Tour are on display at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.

"This is a one-of-a-kind, really special celebration of Taylor and the Eras Tour," says Lisa Purcell, the executive vice president of external affairs at the museum. "There are more than a thousand friendship bracelets from Taylor's collection shared by her fans."

Surrounding the three rows of beaded jewelry are posters included in the VIP boxes purchased by fans ahead of the concert.

"Like her, we are so in touch with the fans of the music and the history of the music," Purcell says.

The museum's Taylor Swift Education Center displays different memorabilia from the singer every few months. Swift's team works closely with the museum. The most recent installation includes a BCBG Max Azria silk handkerchief dress from Swift's debut era, complementary bronze boots, the banjo she decorated with permanent marker for her 2012 Grammys performance of "Mean" and a custom-built Koa guitar with her name imprinted on the fingerboard.

Across from the vitrine of Swift artifacts is a printed copy of a Thomas Hart Benton mural called "The Sources of Country Music." The original hangs in the Country Music Hall of Fame Rotunda and depicts the roots of the music genre.

"Taylor has such a neat origin," Purcell says. "And her origin story is tied to country music. She plays many of these instruments. The Taylor Swift Education Center gave us an opportunity to highlight that."

The center opened in 2013 after Swift donated to the museum's capital campaign. The two-story interior houses classrooms, youth art installations, interactive galleries and learning labs.

Outside the education center and in the museum, there are several exhibits with more Swift memorabilia including a guitar of Swarovski crystal rhinestones, a Roberto Cavalli gold-fringe dress worn by the singer on her "Speak Now World Tour," a vintage lace dress and matching skirt from her "Speak Now World Tour" and the "Speak Now (Taylor's Version)" portrait from her "I Can See You" music video.

'It feels like a perfect night'

Swift's team kept all the bracelets given to the star during the 83 shows of her massive tour. Many were exchanged during the song "22," when a chosen fan gives Swift a bracelet in exchange for a couture hat.

Swift has 69 shows left in her colossal tour. She heads to Paris, France, on May 9, and fans are curious to see if she will incorporate a new set into her three-plus-hour show for "The Tortured Poets Department."

A24 has released a series of epic new posters touting its acclaimed film Civil War .

There’s just one problem. Well, perhaps more than one. Or none, depending on your point of view. We’ll explain.

Except … none of these scenes are actually in the movie. They’ve caused some to wonder if the campaign is giving potential moviegoers a false expectation of what they’ll see in the film. Civil War is A24’s most expensive production to date, costing around $50 million. Yet the images make the film look like a movie with twice that budget.

“None of this happens in the movie,” wrote one reader on A24’s Instagram post . “I don’t understand this campaign. U are selling a movie that doesn’t exist and it’s very bizarre. I love a24 with all my heart but i am so bloody confused about what happened with this film.”

The other potential issue is the images are artificial intelligence-generated, resulting in some backlash over the use of the technology. The AI work also resulted in some notable geographic and landmark mistakes and a bit of “uncanny valley” weirdness. For instance, the two Marina Towers buildings in Chicago are on the same side of the river in reality but are on opposite sides in the art. Meanwhile, a shot of wreckage in Miami shows a car with three doors. Some believe the giant swan in a Los Angeles lake is likewise an AI fail, but that’s probably meant to be a paddleboat — though it doesn’t really look like a paddleboat, either.

The ads were posted on Instagram and used as physical posters in a couple of locations. A source close to the movie said the images help imagine the nationwide impact of the film’s fictional war. “These are AI images inspired by the movie,” a source said. “The entire movie is a big ‘what if’ and so we wanted to continue that thought on social — powerful imagery of iconic landmarks with that dystopian realism.”

The recent Late Night With the Devil controversy seems like the closest comparison, if a rather imperfect one. The IFC Films/Shudder release used AI to help create some title cards for the 1970s-era late night talk show that’s in the film. The usage received strong backlash on social media. The film’s directors Cameron and Colin Cairnes defended the usage , saying, “In conjunction with our amazing graphics and production design team, all of whom worked tirelessly to give this film the ’70s aesthetic we had always imagined, we experimented with AI for three still images which we edited further and ultimately appear as very brief interstitials in the film.”

Ironically enough, before Civil War , Garland was perhaps best known for his 2014 directorial debut, Ex Machina , a film that warned about the dangers of AI.

You might be surprised by who is the favorite character of the franchise.

Saturday, May 4 is the commemorative Intergalactic Star Wars Day so we look at the franchise’s fictional timeline and what’s new.

Go behind the scenes

The Academy Museum in Los Angeles will be featuring an installation from May 4-July 8 called the Star Wars Dykstraflex. It is the computerizeFind out what new shows and films are coming and where do they fit in the Star Wars universe timeline.d motion control system that was an instrumental and groundbreaking technology behind the original Star Wars trilogy. The innovative system revolutionized special effects . The Dykstraflex’s precise control over miniature models shaped the movies’ iconic space battles and changed the landscape of filmmaking.

The installation is organized by the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in collaboration with the Science and Technology Council, Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

Museum hours are 10 a.m.-6 p.m., closed Tuesdays.

Tickets to the Academy Museum are available only through advance online reservations via the Academy Museum’s website and mobile app.

The feature films 1-3 take place in the era called the Fall of the Jedi.

The next era is called the Reign of the Empire. Several one-off films and live-action series have been made in the time frame before the fourth film “Star Wars” (released in 1977) takes place in the fictional timeline.

The next era is known as The New Republic and picks up 30 years after episode VI. This era follows the adventures of Rey fighting against Kylo Ren. During this time frame many live-action series were made by Disney for its streaming service.

In 2012, The Walt Disney Co. paid $4.05 billion for Lucasfilm and the Star Wars franchise. A 2024 article in the Hollywood Reporter noted that Disney said it has made 3.3 times its investment since the purchase.

“Revenge of the Sith” was the last film in the franchise that creator George Lucas wrote a script for.

Asked about the film he said, “The Jedi are trained to let go. They’re trained from birth. They’re not supposed to form attachments. They can love people — in fact, they should love everybody.”
