Eric Church Sets Dates for Fall Arena Tour: Is He Coming to Your City?

Eric Church will embark on a full fall arena outing starting in September, making him one of the first artists to return to a full tour schedule following the pandemic.

Eric Church will embark on an arena tour in the fall, making him one of the first artists to return to a full concert circuit since the COVID-19 pandemic brought touring to a halt in March 2020.

Church’s appropriately named The Gather Again Tour kicks off Sept. 17 at Rupp Arena in Lexington, Ky., and will stop in 55 cities through North America before ending at New York’s Madison Square Garden on May 20, 2022.

Tickets for the U.S. dates, booked by WME and promoted by Messina Touring Group, go on sale May 4 to members of Church’s fan club, the Church Choir, and to the general public on May 7. The Canadian dates will go on sale soon. The arenas will be sold at 100% capacity with seating in the round.

Church has been working toward getting back on the road since shortly after the pandemic started and hinted that he would announce the tour soon in his Billboard April 3 cover story , out now. “All I’ve ever done is play live shows. That’s my whole gig,” he said.

An elated Church dropped the news first, per his habit, to his Church Choir members via video, then to Billboard .

The reigning CMA entertainer of the year has been off the road since his 2019 Double Down arena tour, Billboard’s highest-grossing country outing of 2019. The outing’s final night drew 56,521 people to Nashville’s Nissan Stadium, breaking Taylor Swift’s attendance record there.

After the pandemic caused him to push back both his Heart & Soul triple-album project and a tour from 2020, Church met with epidemiologists, venue managers and industry vets within his own circle, determined to figure out how to get back onstage safely. “It became very clear to me that the only way to really get back to normal is through vaccinations,” he says. “You’ve got to get needles in arms.”

Church can’t wait to get onstage and share the connection with his audience. “Honestly, there’s a spirit moving around. I would even say the best shows is me 20 [percent]; them, 80. It’s them giving. All I’m doing is starting the process and then they just carry it,” he told Billboard.

Though a number of outdoor festivals are taking place this summer and fall, very few artists are attempting to return to full indoor arena capacity in 2021. In addition to Church, Latin superstar Maluma has also put a fall arena tour on sale.

Church, who is nominated for entertainer of the year at the April 18 ACM Awards, will also participate in a PSA promoting vaccines that will debut during the awards ceremony. Produced by ACM Lifting Lives, The Ad Council and COVID Collaborative, the spot will also feature Darius Rucker and Ashley McBryde.

Church’s Heart & Soul will now launch April 16, starting with the rock-leaning Heart ; then & (pronounced “ampersand”), available on vinyl or streaming only to members of the official Church Choir fan club starting April 20; and the groove-driven Soul , out April 23, with songs reflecting the Muscle Shoals and Motown influences on his sound.

Eric Church Announces Return to the Road With 2021 Arena Tour

Eric Church has announced dates for an extensive arena tour that will carry him into 2022. The reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year plans to kick off the Gather Again Tour on September 17th in Lexington, Kentucky. Each show will be played in the round with his stage at the center of the room. For some past tours, Church sold seats all the way around the stage, but this is his first trek with a true in-the-round setup.

With opening dates starting in mid-September, the 55-date Gather Again Tour will ostensibly keep Church on the road for nine months when it wraps up in late May 2022. Notable stops include back-to-back shows at the Anthem in Washington, D.C., and the Resch Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Church will also stop in several Southern cities, including Louisville, New Orleans, Birmingham, Knoxville, and Little Rock, but so far, no Nashville date is on his itinerary. Tickets go on sale May 7th at 10 a.m. local time.

Church will have plenty of new music to play at these upcoming shows. His triple album Heart & Soul arrives in three installments beginning with Heart on April 16th, followed by Soul on April 23rd, and the middle section & (Ampersand) going to Church Choir club members on Tuesday, April 20th.

Eric Church Announces 2023 Summer Tour with Star-Studded Roster

Country mainstay Eric Church has announced a summer tour, headlining amphitheaters with a star-studded roster of supporting acts in tow.

“We have never done an outdoor summer tour,” the country star wrote on social media , announcing the headlining trek. “Never headlined amphitheaters. Never brought a summer experience to your town that featured artists we want to share the summer with. Until now. See you in the season of sunshine with some fellow outsiders that shine brightest when the sun goes down.”

Those fellow outsiders include Whiskey Myers, Cody Jinks, Jelly Roll, Ashley McBryde, Lainey Wilson, Parker McCollum, Elle King, and Paul Cauthen to name just a few. A total of 18 different artists will be joining him on the 27-date tour, rotating openers at every venue or so.

Dubbed the Outsiders Revival Tour, the North American stint will kick off in mid-June and come to a close in late September, having made stops everywhere from Toronto to Tampa.

Tickets will be available on Jan. 20 for general on-sale. See a full list of dates and supporting acts below.

The Chief, Eric Church , to Headline Amphitheaters This Summer With Curated Lineup of 18 Special Guests

It’s a rite of passage for any music fan, seeing “The Chief” live in concert. Known for his marathon sets, the 2022 Billboard Music Awards’ Top Country Tour honoree Eric Church brings his critically acclaimed live show to new audiences in new ways this year, headlining outdoor venues throughout the summer with The Outsiders Revival Tour .

Joining the man praised by POLLSTAR for “having already long established himself as one of the most successful touring country artists” across varying dates are Whiskey Myers , Cody Jinks , Jelly Roll , Ashley McBryde , Koe Wetzel , Lainey Wilson , Midland, Parker McCollum , Travis Tritt , Elle King and Paul Cauthen, plus Jackson Dean , Morgan Wade , Muscadine Bloodline, Shane Smith & The Saints, Hailey Whitters, Ray Wylie Hubbard and The Red Clay Strays.

Kicking off June 22, the Live Nation produced tour takes the man celebrated by Forbes for “offering fans a unique experience each night while conjuring up the unpredictability that used to make concerts unforgettable” to 26 cities across the U.S. and Canada. Tickets to all dates go on sale next Friday, Jan. 20 at 10 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster .com, with presale access available to Church Choir members starting Tuesday, Jan. 17 at 10 a.m. local time.

Eric Church , perhaps in an effort to scoop up the tour name of “The Gather Again Tour,” is one of the first major artists to announce a post-pandemic tour!  Check out the video below as Church makes the announcement himself.  The tour kicks off in September, with a full list of dates listed below the video.  It will feature an “in-the-round” setup at arenas across the country.

With 55 dates, most states will get a show, though it’s noticeable that Georgia was passed over from this tour.   This leads one to wonder if this was politically motivated, or a state with one of the largest country music fan bases couldn’t come to terms with his booking agency.  We have reached out for comment, and will update this story if we get a response.  While he doesn’t talk about the Georgia voting issue, he does talk about another hot topic in today’s society in the press release we received.

“It became very clear to me that the only way to really get back to normal is through vaccinations. You’ve got to get needles in arms,” he shared with Billboard in the April 3 cover story depicting the superstar getting his own second dose of the vaccine after consulting with epidemiologists and industry experts.

“I just want to play shows,” he continued. “Politics’ job is to divide – that’s how you win elections. Those things that unite us are music and sports. The times when, whether you’re a Democrat or Republican or whatever, you throw your arm around the person next to you. We need that. I need that.”

Keith, 62, a 20-time country chart-topper and influential businessman, entertainer, and philanthropist, died on Feb. 5 after a nearly 20-month bout with stomach cancer. The "Should've Been A Cowboy" and "How Do You Like Me Now" performer amassed 42 top 10 hits, 33 No. 1s, 44 million albums sold, 100 million BMI performances, and more than 10 billion streams mainly on the strength of his songwriting and producing.

"Should've Been a Cowboy" was the most-played country song of the 1990s, while memorably, his final televised performance — of "Don't Let the Old Man In" from Clint Eastwood's 2018 film "The Mule" at 2023's People's Choice Country Awards was critically praised.

This followed a career where many of his other multi-week chart-toppers, including "Who's That Man," "How Do You Like Me Now?!," "Courtesy of the Red, White, & Blue (The Angry American)," "I Love This Bar," "Beer For My Horses," "American Soldier," "As Good As I Once Was," "God Love Her," "Red Solo Cup" and "Made in America" became cultural touchstones and modern country genre staples.

Related to July 29's event, at 2022's BMI Country Awards, Keith was awarded BMI's Country Icon Award. As well, at the festivities, the performer was feted onstage by artists, including Carrie Underwood, who offered a spirited rendition of "Should've Been a Cowboy," plus Eric Church, who performed a stripped-down version of Keith's 2003 hit "I Love This Bar."

Upon receiving the trophy from BMI President and CEO Michael O'Neill and Clay Bradley, BMI's Nashville vice president of creative, Keith noted that he appreciated BMI being so great to him "because [he] knew that even if [he] didn't make it as an artist, that maybe somebody would cut [his] songs."

The concert at Bridgestone Arena is being promoted by Live Nation and produced by UMG Nashville’s Sing Me Back Home Productions and ITV America’s Thinkfactory Media in association with Alex Coletti Productions.
