Operating out of the Lachine Canal Nautical Centre near the Atwater Market, H2O Adventures offers boat rentals, tours and team-building activities.

The H2O Adventures fleet includes a wide array of vessels, ranging from pedalboats to kayaks, SUPs, electric boats, and canoes.

Journey to the remote and uninhabited barrier island of Shackleford Banks, home to the renowned wild horses, and indulge in fantastic shelling opportunities. Our excursion commences on the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW), guiding you through the NC State Port, passing USCG Station Ft. Macon, crossing the Beaufort Inlet, and navigating approximately 4+ miles along Shackelford Banks' protected waters to our primary destination.

Led by Captain Mark, a guided land tour awaits, exploring one or two trails to the ocean side of the island. Traverse a maritime forest, grasslands, and dunes while anticipating sightings of the famed wild Shackelford Banker Horses.

Reaching a pristine beach seemingly untouched, revel in the solitude as we identify shells, including the Lettered Olive, scallops, and hopefully helmets. The beauty of the dunes and waves becomes our companions along this secluded shoreline, far from the reach of ferry routes.

Returning to the boat, Captain Mark navigates alongside the far eastern portion of Bird Shoals, an island in the Rachel Carson Reserve,  searching for more wild horses.

Our final visit includes a passing through the Morehead City waterfront, adorned with restaurants and bars, before concluding our approximately 4-hour private excursion. Prices start from $549.

Cape Lookout Lighthouse:  "On The Outside” 

This excursion is significantly influenced by wave heights, air temperature, and wind speed. Local mariners and enthusiasts of maritime lore often discuss embarking on "The Outside," which involves navigating open waters towards the Cape Lookout Bight and Cape Lookout Lighthouse.

Set against the picturesque backdrop of the Cape Lookout Lighthouse, Captain Mark, utilizing his extensive local knowledge, will lead you through the ever-shifting sands of The Bight. Whether admiring the vast expanse of the ocean, enjoying a rejuvenating swim in its waters or those leading to Barden Inlet, this maritime journey truly embodies the essence of "The Outside." Encounters with pods of bottle-nosed dolphins en route to or from The Cape further enhance the experience.

Moving forward, we arrive at the renowned Cape Lookout Lighthouse, standing proudly at a height of 163 feet and located at the southernmost point of The Outer Banks. Emitting a flash every 15 seconds, it remains visible for at least 12 miles out to sea and operates during daylight hours, having been fully automated in 1950.

On our return journey, we traverse the protected waters along Back Sound and Harkers Island, with possible stops at the Beaufort and/or Morehead City waterfronts, as well as the Rachel Carson Estuarine Reserve. Please note that in the event of unfavorable sea conditions, we will opt for the sheltered waters of "the inside" on our way to the Cape. This excursion typically lasts approximately five hours.  From $649. The Cape Lookout Lighthouse is closed for climbing again this year. We hope the lighthouse will reopen in 2025.

When booking tickets please note:- Ticket Price for Children are those under the age of 15 years .

Please note: - Dogs are NOT permitted onboard our vessels. This is due to visiting National Park locations where dogs are not permitted.

• All tours are subject to minimum numbers and weather conditions and may be cancelled at the discretion of H2O Tours & Adventures.
• We reserve the right to alter vessel on the day.
• We reserve the right to alter the destination on the day pending weather for your safety and comfort.
• All children under the age of 12 years MUST wear a Life Jacket while on board the vessel.
• All vessels are strictly NO Smoking onboard.
• No pets/animals allowed on the vessels due to tours visiting National Parks.

We ask that you DO NOT travel with us if you are displaying any signs of Covid-19 like symptoms.

• All prices include all applicable fees for National/State Parks.

Cancellation Policy

• If you cancel within 24 hours of your cruise departure OR do not show there is a 100% fee – no refund will be given.
• In the event H2O Tours & Adventures have to cancel a cruise due to weather conditions you will be offered a full refund or an alternate day.
