Great place to let the kids run wild. Slides, tunnels, kids zip line, tree house with bridges and ropes. They also have video games in another section. There is a toddler area for smaller kids. Prices were okay. ~$15 a kid, with a multi-kid discount. Adults are free. If you buy a shirt then you get a discount on future visits, when you wear the shirt. It is a safe environment. I didn't worry about the kids falling off anything. The staff does a decent job with telling kids to not run or play rough.

Very nice, clean, safe place for children to play. The staff was very nice and helpful.

Safari Nation

I went to Safari Nation on Sunday for a birthday party. It had a cute jungle gym situation for the kids of varying ages, 4 bumper cars $3, and a zip line. It's a small cozy spot. Probably somewhere to spend 2 hours tops.

We were pleasantly surprised at great this place is. I wasn't expecting much, especially being in a strip mall shopping center, but it was big and there was lots to do. Our kids are 6 & 8 and they loved the zip line (which they did over and over...and over) and the maze of a playground. It's a great place to bring kids and let them run around, have fun, and do it in a safe environment. One of my favorite parts was that there's no charge for adults, so my wife and I could both come and be there but not have to pay to sit there.

We took the kids to a different location a couple of times before the pandemic, but this is first time to this location. Place seems mostly clean enough, aside of the bathroom. About what you would expect for an indoor kids place like this. Admission price isn't too bad (goes based on age ranges) and they seem to run deals online you can find for discounts, including a Yelp check-in offer. I like that they don't charge us adults admission for having to enter and supervise our kids. Feels really exploitative when other places do that. I'm obviously not there to play. Kids had a good solid couple hours of fun here. Some of the slides seem like they were giving the kids whiplash, but I'm sure it's good for them...Not much to speak of as far as the concessions go, but you're not really there for that anyway. They have some bouncy houses and a small zip line too. The bumper car area is small and seemed a bit like a throwaway idea. Staff seemed pretty hands off and let the kids go about their business. I will say it was hard to tell who actually worked there half the time. Seems like they do have staff shirts but they wore street clothes over it. Definitely on their phones a lot too, as working kids tend to do. For ownership responding to that one review about the lack of supervision by staff on the bumper cars, I'm including pics below showing staff on the phone while supposedly supervising.

Yep, that's staff. And yep, that's "supervision."

Best place to take a toddler !!! My time of place for some fun and time for a snack. I can come any day of the week and enjoy some fun as much as my litttle one enjoys. Very clean variety of snacks. Friendly staff no doubt.

Photo of Nadia J.

Excellent place for toddlers, they have a separate area designated for them to play aside from all other ages. They offer snacks and beverages too. Good parking available outside. Just wish the toddler area was slightly bigger, as once that's done it's kind of like ok what now?

Photo of Anita W.

My daughter had a blast! Somewhere inexpensive to let your little ones run wild for a while on a rainy day! Also great for birthdays and events! Was a little dirty and dingy, but fun and exciting for the most part. I can imagine how many children run in and out of this place in a week! Would be great if they had sanitizer stations here and there. Friendly staff. Filling out the consent form before visiting is quick to do online. Saves time for when you get there and your child is ready to run loose.

Here now. What happened Safari Nation? I use to bring my kids 1-2 times a week. When summer hit I decided to divide the summer into 2 memberships between here and another indoor park. So, we're back after a month. Immediately upon coming in the employee that checked us in rolled her eyes when asked her a question. My son has gone to her several times and she ignores him. It's dirty, not as clean as it use to be. There's water or drink or maybe pee on the floor. If your employees cared more about their job than their phone we may be back. But after the eye roll, uncleanliness and lack of everything I'd drive to Greensboro before coming back here.

Yes This a great business i love this place. Especially for the kids.. we had so much fun.

The Ticketmaster “breach”—what you need to know

Earlier this week, a cybercriminal group posted an alleged database up for sale online which, it says, contains customer and card details of 560 million Live Nation/Ticketmaster users.

The data was offered for sale on one forum under the name “Shiny Hunters”. ShinyHunters is the online handle for a group of notorious cybercriminals associated with numerous data breaches, including the recent AT&T breach .

ShinyHunter offering Live Nation / TciketMaster data for sale

The post says:

“Live Nation / Ticketmaster Data includes 560 million customer full details (name, address, email, phone) Ticket sales, event information, order details CC detail – customer last 4 of card, expiration date Customer fraud details Much more Price is $500k USD. One time sale.”

The same data set was offered for sale in an almost identical post on another forum by someone using the handle SpidermanData. This could be the same person or a member of the ShinyHunters group.

According to news outlet ABC , the Australian Department of Home Affairs said it is aware of a cyber incident impacting Ticketmaster customers and is “working with Ticketmaster to understand the incident.”

Some researchers expressed their doubts about the validity of the data set:

🚨🚨Thoughts on the alleged Ticketmaster Data Breach 🚨🚨 TLDR: Alert not Alarmed The Ticketmaster data breach claim has provided BreachForums with the quick attention they need to boost their user numbers and reputation. The claim has possibly been over-stated to boost… pic.twitter.com/WJsFkBfQbw — CyberKnow (@Cyberknow20) May 29, 2024

While others judged it looks legitimate based on conversations with involved individuals, and studying samples of the data set:

Whether or not the data is real remains to be seen. However, there’s no doubt that scammers will use this opportunity to make a quick profit.

Ticketmaster users will need to be on their guard. Read our tips below for some helpful advice on what to do in the event of a data breach.

You can also check what personal information of yours has already been exposed online with our Digital Footprint portal. Just enter your email address (it’s best to submit the one you most frequently use) to our  free Digital Footprint scan  and we’ll give you a report.

Protecting yourself after a data breach

There are some actions you can take if you are, or suspect you may have been, the victim of a data breach .

  • Check the vendor’s advice. Every breach is different, so check with the vendor to find out what’s happened, and follow any specific advice they offer.
  • Change your password. You can make a stolen password useless to thieves by changing it. Choose a  strong password  that you don’t use for anything else. Better yet, let a  password manager  choose one for you.
  • Enable two-factor authentication (2FA). If you can, use a FIDO2-compliant hardware key, laptop or phone as your second factor. Some forms of  two-factor authentication (2FA)  can be phished just as easily as a password. 2FA that relies on a FIDO2 device can’t be phished.
  • Watch out for fake vendors. The thieves may contact you posing as the vendor. Check the vendor website to see if they are contacting victims, and verify the identity of anyone who contacts you using a different communication channel.
  • Take your time. Phishing attacks often impersonate people or brands you know, and use themes that require urgent attention, such as missed deliveries, account suspensions, and security alerts.
  • Consider not storing your card details . It’s definitely more convenient to get sites to remember your card details for you, but we highly recommend not storing that information on websites.
  • Set up identity monitoring. Identity monitoring alerts you if your personal information is found being traded illegally online, and helps you recover after.

We don’t just report on threats – we help safeguard your entire digital identit y

Cybersecurity risks should never spread beyond a headline. Protect your—and your family’s—personal information by using identity protection .

RBC Canadian Open, Nick Taylor

The PGA Tour is in the Great White North for this week’s RBC Canadian Open at Hamilton Golf & Country Club in Ontario. As one of the longest-running tournaments in golf, fans have an exciting week ahead of them for Canada’s National Open.

Last year, Canada’s own Nick Taylor beat Tommy Fleetwood in a dramatic playoff. Taylor became the first Canadian to win this national open since 1954.

Taylor is back to take a stab at defending his title. He won the WM Phoenix Open in February and has three top 10s and four top 25s on the season. Taylor and Charles Schwab Challenge winner Davis Riley teamed up to finish solo 10th at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans . That finish marked his best since a tie for 12th at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

Fleetwood is hungry for revenge this week, too. He also has three top 10s and four top 25s in 2024. The Englishman tied for 26th at the PGA Championship, tied for 13th at the Wells Fargo Championship, and, best of all, tied for third at the Masters. His game is in a good spot, as he has a solid chance to secure his first PGA Tour victory.

However, they must both get past Rory McIlroy , the betting favorite.

Check out all the information to tune into the RBC Canadian Open’s coverage this weekend:

Justice Department Files Antitrust Lawsuit Seeking To Break Up Live Nation-Ticketmaster; "Baseless" PR Stunt, Company Responds - Update

The incident is awkwardly timed, as Live Nation has come under the microscope of federal antitrust regulators. Last week, the Department of Justice sued Live Nation, seeking to separate it from Ticketmaster due to what it describes as monopolistic behavior.

Performers and fans have grumbled about Ticketmaster for years, but the complaints spilled into the halls of Congress in 2022 after Taylor Swift and her fans became the epicenter of the fight over the cost and scarcity of tickets. Live Nation operates and books most of the leading concert venues, with ticket sales for those shows managed by Ticketmaster under the same corporate roof since the companies merged in 2010. The government alleges that setup is a form of self-dealing that harms consumers by enabling prices to go ever higher. The company has denied it inflates prices or abuses its market position. It derided the DOJ lawsuit as a “stunt.”

The hacking episode, Live Nation said in the filing, has not had a material impact on its overall business operations or financial condition or results. “We continue to evaluate the risks and our remediation efforts are ongoing,” the company added.

The Spartans watched over a dozen players from their roster enter the transfer portal simultaneously. Coach Smith and his coaching staff spent weeks recovering from the hit their roster took.

However, they did recover. After getting off to arguably one of the worst starts in the transfer portal of any team in the Big Ten, if not the significant conferences, Michigan State and Coach Smith have recovered admirably in the transfer portal. They’ve had multiple serviceable additions to their roster this offseason. So much so, that they have one of the top-ranked transfer portal classes this offseason.

Jacey Zembal of Rivals.com graded every Big Ten team’s performance in the transfer portal this offseason, giving the Spartans a ‘B-’ grade. Zembal notes how, even with their early losses to the portal, the Spartans could also use the portal to their advantage. There was undoubtedly a sting that came with the departures of so many players at once. However, those departures opened up roster spots for many talented players nationwide looking for a new home.

“Michigan State has been busy with players coming and going this spring,” Zembal said. The addition of 5-foot-10, 205-pound (Kay’Ron) Lynch-Adams could be a big one. He rushed 236 times for 1,157 yards and 12 touchdowns at UMass, which was his fifth year of college. He played his first two years at Rutgers.”

Zembal believes Michigan State signed multiple players who have the potential to make an impact this season. The Spartans were able to fill some of the voids created by their earlier losses.

“[Andrew] Dennis was a four-star prospect coming out of high school by Rivals.com, and [Tyler] Gillison is another player with upside and youth,” Zembal said .

“The Spartans' defensive line took a huge hit with the losses of Barrow and Harmon, plus younger prospects Jobe and Depaepe. Adding Buckley from Nebraska could lead to the 6-foot-5, 295-pounder to play right away this season.”

A popular California beach closed temporarily but has since reopened after a shark bumped a surfer off their board over the weekend, according to reports.

Lifeguards closed a 2-mile stretch of the San Clemente beach through Monday, the Orange County Register reported . The surfer was in the water at T-Street beach just south of the San Clemente Pier at about 7:55 p.m. Sunday and was bumped after seeing a large, dark object swimming toward him, San Clemente Marine Safety Lt. Sean Staubenbaur told the Register.

San Clemente is located along Southern California's Pacific coast, about 64 miles south of Los Angeles and 59 miles north of San Diego.

Beach was closed for 24 hours following shark sighting

The 24-hour closure started after the surfer came out of the water and told lifeguards about the incident. There were no reports of any injuries to the surfer, who was identified as 25-year-old Evan Garcia.

As of Monday evening, there had not been a second shark sighting. Although the water was closed, the sand and beach area remained open to the public.

The water at the beach has since reopened , although an "enter at your own risk" advisory was in place through 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Johns Hopkins team assessing nation’s bridges after deadly Baltimore collapse

BALTIMORE (AP) — Researchers at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore are assessing the country’s bridges to determine the likelihood of another disaster like the one that collapsed the Francis Scott Key Bridge.

The team includes students and faculty members and will focus on large bridges near major ports of entry, officials said in a news release Wednesday.

“We need to know now, not five or 10 years from now, whether there is an outsize risk to bridges across the country,” said team leader Michael Shields, an engineer specializing in risk assessment. “The Key Bridge collapse was a wake-up call.”

The steel span crumbled in an instant after the container ship Dali lost power and crashed into one of its supporting columns shortly after leaving Baltimore’s port on March 26. Six members of a roadwork crew plunged to their deaths.

Experts and officials have noted a number of factors that made the bridge vulnerable, including minimal pier protection that hadn’t been improved in recent decades even as cargo ships grew larger and more imposing.

“Clearly the risk to the Key Bridge was very different in 2024 than it was in 1977 when the bridge opened,” Shields said. “But we don’t currently understand that risk.”

FILE - New automobiles being shipped through the Port of Brunswick sit in a vast parking lot at the Colonel's Island terminal in Brunswick, Ga., Oct. 20, 2015. The Georgia Ports Authority says a surge in auto imports rerouted from Baltimore led to its busiest month ever for car and truck shipments. The Georgia agency's chief executive said Tuesday, May 21, 2024, that the Port of Brunswick saw more than 80,000 automobiles and heavy machinery units move across its docks in April. The researchers will examine whether other bridges are similarly vulnerable by building models to determine the probability of a ship deviating from course and causing catastrophe in or around major ports.

Johns Hopkins officials said they hope policymakers will use the findings of their assessment to inform future investment decisions and prioritize infrastructure safety upgrades. They plan to release preliminary findings by the end of the summer, with the complete assessment expected to take about a year to complete.

“Between the exponential growth of mega freight ships and the surge in global shipping traffic, many of our bridges simply weren’t built to withstand the pressures of today’s maritime landscape,” said team member Rachel Sangree, a structural engineer and former bridge inspector.

The National Transportation Safety Board, a federal oversight agency that is investigating the collapse, said in its preliminary report that the Dali sailed right past a protective concrete piling — also known as a dolphin — before bringing down the bridge.

Officials said they are assessing whether pier protection needs to be improved on other Maryland bridges, particularly the Chesapeake Bay Bridge near Annapolis, which links Baltimore and Washington to Maryland’s Eastern Shore. Such upgrades are often very costly.

Speaking before a congressional committee this month, board Chair Jennifer Homendy urged lawmakers to conduct risk assessments on the major bridges in their jurisdictions.

“This could happen in any of your districts,” she said.

The FBI also opened a criminal investigation into the circumstances leading up to the Key Bridge collapse.

Two tugboats guided the Dali out of Baltimore’s port, but they peeled off once it entered the main shipping channel in accordance with normal practice, according to the preliminary report. Experts have questioned whether a longer tugboat escort could have kept the wayward ship on course and averted disaster.

But not everyone agrees the Key Bridge could have been saved. U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, who visited Baltimore soon after the collapse, said there’s a lot of debate among engineers about “whether any of those features could have had any role in a situation like this.”

The Key Bridge was constructed in the 1970s to connect industrial maritime communities north and south of downtown Baltimore. It became a symbol of the city’s proud working-class history and its burgeoning port.

The collapse halted most maritime traffic through the port for several weeks and disrupted East Coast trucking routes.

Last week, cleanup crews were able to refloat the Dali and guide it back to port. Officials say they’re on track to fully reopen the port’s main channel by June 10.

Plans to replace the bridge are in the works, with a projected 2028 completion date and a nearly $2 billion price tag, officials have said. Federal funding, insurance proceeds and other reimbursements will bring a variety of resources toward the rebuild and recovery effort.

A report released Wednesday by the Maryland Chamber of Commerce highlighted the widespread economic impacts of the bridge collapse and called for increased investment in transportation infrastructure.
