Juventus Stadium (Turin)

Juventus Stadium (currently known as the Allianz Stadium for sponsorship reasons) is the home of one the most successful clubs in Italian football, Juventus F.C. The club are just one of several in Italian football to own their home stadium.

The stadium opened in 2011 on the site of the club’s former home, the Stadio delle Alpi which they shared with local rivals Torino. The old stadium was only built in 1990 to host matches at that year’s FIFA World Cup , however it was considered too large (with a capacity of 69,000) and spectators were too far from the pitch, due to the athletics track.

Given its unpopularity, the club purchased the old stadium from the local council in 2002 and began its demolition in 2008. They returned 3 years later at the 41,507 capacity Juventus Stadium on the 8th September 2011, playing a friendly with English club Notts County given the historic ties between the two.

The venue hosted the 2014 UEFA Europa League final in which Sevilla defeated Benfica on penalties, after initially playing out a 0-0 draw.

It is also due to be one of the two venues of the 2021 UEFA Nations League Finals and host the 2022 UEFA Women’s Champions League Final.

Location & Travel to Juventus Stadium

Juventus Stadium is located approximately 6 kilometres north of Turin’s city centre, in northern Italy.

Airport:  Turin Airport is located 16 kilometres north of the city, offering flights across Europe. You can catch a train from the airport to reach the city. Alternatively, the larger Milan Malpensa Airport is just over 100 kilometres away and has a greater number of services across the continent.

Bus: On matchdays, a shuttlebus (line 9) runs from metro station Bernini. On non-matchdays, you can take bus lines 62, 72, 75 and VE1 from the city centre.

Driving & Parking: The stadium is located just south of the Tangenziale ring road. There are 4,000 parking spaces available at the stadium, costing €10 per match and can be booked in advance here .

Train: The Torino Porta Nuova is the main railway station in Turin and offers a number of services across Italy. The city’s second station is Torino Porta Susa which also has services across the country but also to France. Both stations are about 5 kilometres away from the stadium, take the metro in the direction of Fermi and get off at Bernini to utilise the shuttle bus as above.

History and description

Allianz Stadium, previously known as Juventus Stadium, replaced Juventus’ old Stadio Delle Alpi , which had only been the home of the club since 1990. Juventus fans had never warmed up to Delle Alpi though, with most complaints involving the distance between stands and pitch, poor sightlines and lack of atmosphere.

As early as 2003, Juventus therefore already started making plans to build a new stadium, and after they had bought Delle Alpi from the city of Turin, they moved to Stadio Olimpico di Torino in anticipation of returning to a new home in a few years time.

Demolition of Delle Alpi started in 2008 and soon after works on the new stadium began. Juventus Stadium officially opened on 8 September 2011 with a match between Juventus and Notts County (1-1). Notts County had been chosen because of the historic ties the clubs have had since 1903 when Englishman and Juventus player John Savage arranged for Juventus to wear the black-and-white kit that Notts County traditionally play in.

Juventus Stadium hosted the 2014 Europa League final  between Sevilla and Benfica, which ended in a 0-0 draw and was won on penalties by the Spanish side.

In 2017, the club announced a 6-year naming rights sponsorship deal with insurer Allianz resulting in the new name Allianz Stadium of Turin.

How to get to Allianz Stadium

Allianz Stadium is located in the north of Turin, approximately 7 kilometres from Turin’s city centre and main Porta Nuovo railway station.

The stadium lies just south of Turin’s semi ring road, the Tangenziale. Take exit Venaria from the northern section of the road.

On matchdays a special tram service (line 9) connects the stadium with metro stop Bernini. Bernini can be reached with metro line 1 from Turin train stations Porta Nuova and Porta Susa.

On non-matchdays the stadium is best reached by bus . From the city centre (Via 20 Settembre – Via Bertola) take bus 72 or 72b in the direction of Viale Bruno Sper. or Picco. The journey takes almost 40 minutes, get off at stop Stadio Alpi. Both buses also pass train station Porta Susa.

Eat, sleep, and drink near Allianz Stadium

Allianz Stadium is located on the outskirts of the city of Turin in a quiet residential area. With their new stadium, Juventus also opened a medium-sized shopping centre, Area12 , which has a few food outlets. Apart from that, there are few options to eat or drink around the stadium, and doing so in Turin’s pleasant city centre may be the better alternative.

The newly opened Hotel Master lies right next to the stadium, gets good reviews, and is reasonably affordable. Hotel Galant , a road-side hotel near the Tangenziale, is a comparable alternative. It lies slightly further away from the stadium, but can be convienent for those arriving by car. For all hotels near Juventus Stadium click here .

However, if you are spending more than a day in Turin, you will likely have a better time staying at a hotel closer to the city centre. Picking a hotel near Porta Susa station may be convenient in terms of public transport to the stadium, but there is more choice near Turin’s other main station, Porta Nuova .

Juventus Tickets

Tickets for Juventus games can be bought online via Listicket , by phone 892 101 (from Italy) or +39 02 600 60 900 (from abroad), or at one of the Listicket sales points . For certain sections possession of a Tessera del Tifoso fan card may be required.

Juventus sold out most matches in their first few seasons at Juventus Stadium and most matches are still close to a sell-out. It is therefore recommended to book as much in advance as possible. Tickets usually go on sale two weeks before the match.

If the match is sold out or if you wish to purchase longer in advance, you can revert to ticket websites such as viagogo , who offer a reliable alternative and take care of the repersonalisation of the tickets where required. Of course, prices will generally be higher than face value.

Ticket prices depend on the opponent, but typically start at €30.00 for a seat behind one of the goals and range up to €105.00 for the central seats at the long sides. Other seats at the sides tend to go for between €65.00 and €95.00.

Stadium tours

Juventus Stadium houses the Juventus museum, which showcases the history of the club. On top of that, the club organises guided stadium tours that include access to the dressing rooms, players’ tunnel and media areas.

The museum opens every day of the week except Tuesdays from 10:30 am to 6:00 pm and until 7:30 pm on the weekends.

Tours run Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays at 11:00 am, 12:30 pm, 2:45 pm, and 4:15 pm. On the weekends and public holidays they run every half an hour between 11:00 am and 5:30 pm, though it is advised to check current timetables on Juventus’ official website .

Tours can be booked online or at the Ticket Office at the stadium. Entrance to the museum costs €15.00, the combination of tour and museum €22.00.

We recently attended Juventus v Empoli. Metro to Bernini was easy enough on the single metro line, we then had to find the bus stop for shuttle buses to the stadium, which is not well sign posted. No scrum to board when the bus arrived and it took about 30 minutes to reach the ground. There are a few bars/restaurants in the little shopping centre next to the ground and these were not packed as you would find in other countries. We had a beer at a stall and again there was no great queue. Rigorous security checked tickets against our ID, once inside there are plenty of bars and no apparent problem taking beer into the stands. Sadly the game and the atmosphere were awful. I guess this is what happens when you are virtually guaranteed to win your 8th title in a row and are resting players for the Champions League. The hundred or so Empoli fans made more noise than the 40,000 home fans, the “ultras” remained quiet and put their flags down during the game. It’s a nice stadium, very compact for it’s capacity and I’m sure would hold a decent atmosphere if you attend the right game. As for the ticket portal – chaotic would describe it. I found tickets continued to come on sale right up to the day we left for Italy so if you miss out initially it is worth checking again every day.

Was disappointed when I visited the new Stadium (last Nov. before watching Juve Pescara game) since the guided tour is not explained in English only Italian and could not understand a single word… Want to ask you if the Champions League final game in Cardiff on 3rd June would transmitted on screens in the Juve Stadium in order to fly to Torino to watch same. If yes where can we get the relevant ticket for same. thanking you in advance for your assistance and look forward to read from you.

Easily one of the ten best stadiums in Europe. Great architecture, perfect view and sound and the view is good from anywhere. Only minor thing is the four cables in the corners which obstruct the view to a minimum degree. The fans sing all the time. Yes tickets are expensive, because it is sold out most times, but better that than 41.000 in a 80.000 stadium.

I went to Juve vs Lazio in 2012 too, but I bought the ticket for 200 euros in black market. It really deserved this price.

I went to see Juve against Lazio in 2012. Tickets are often sold out, but i kept looking at Listicket for a general sale date. Therefore i managed to buy 2 tickets for 45 Euros each. Stadium is very easily reached by public transport. You will need an id or passport to gain an access to the stadium! Great atmosphere at Juventus stadium and great city to visit!

There is also a trophy room, a space dedicated to the millions of Juve F.C fans, and a history room filled with memorabilia. As well as plenty more fascinating tributes to the past and present Juventus legend. 

Visitors can access the museum every day except Tuesday. Opening hours start at 10:30 and the building closes at either 18:00 or 19:30, depending on the day and season. 

You’ll find the Juventus museum in the same complex as the Juventus home stadium, so visiting both at the same time is convenient and a popular activity. Even if you’re not able to watch a live match, take a tour through the stadium and learn more about it.

Strangely, Juventus’ ± 41 000-seater stadium doesn’t see very many fans sitting down to watch a home game. But, that just means more availability for those who are keen to see the team play. 

There’s nothing quite like experiencing the fans’ energy in the stadium – it’s close to electrifying. You can get your tickets for games during the season – from August to May – but I suggest you book in advance as much as possible, just to be safe.

There are a number of websites that sell match tickets for games in Italy, however, some are resellers and not all are trustworthy. The safest option would be to buy tickets directly from the club website . 

You could also try and grab tickets from a website like TicketOne. Or, if you’re in Italy with enough time, find one of the ticket office boxes in the city.

Official Juventus merch stores

If you’re looking for souvenirs to take home with you, visit one of the official stores where you’ll find a variety of Juventus merchandise. 

If you’re already at the stadium, you can pop into the store in the same complex. Or, if you’re visiting on match day, simply seek out one of the 11 sales points scattered around the stadium. 

For those who have already left the stadium, you can still grab your keepsakes and mementos at the store in Turin city center, near to the Royal Palace of Turin . So wherever in the city you find yourself, you can still find a match kit, toys, or other branded items.

Juventus’s maiden home game of 2023 will be at Allianz Stadium in front of a full house!

After the win away to Cremonese on Wednesday, Juve will be on the hunt for a first home victory of the new year in front of a sell-out crowd. What better way to get back under way on home soil after the World Cup?

The clash with Udinese will give the home faithful a chance to push the team on in the hunt for an eighth consecutive victory in Serie A and generate an unforgettable atmosphere from start to finish of the contest.

There are many targets to go after in the second half of the season and doing so together will certainly drive the team forward. It all begins with the home showdown against Udinese.

Scoring your very first goal for your club: a feeling like no other.

This season there were four players in the First Team who found the back of the net for the very first time in black and white.

Let’s re-live these rivetting four moments once again as we reflect back on the 2023/24 campaign.

ANDREA CAMBIASO

Juventus-Hellas Verona, 28 October 2023. At the Allianz Stadium on Matchday 10, Juventus took on a Hellas Verona side who had not won a match since late August. The Bianconeri dominated the match, with Moise Kean twice finding the back of the net, only for both goals to be ruled out, one for offside and the other for a foul in the build-up. Despite laying seige on the Verona goal, the scoreboard still read 0-0 as the clock hit the 90-minute mark. Yet six minutes later, in the very last minute of time added on, Federico Gatti found himself on the right wing and swung in a cross which Arek Milik headed down onto the post. The ball bounced back in play, and with the Verona defense scrambling to clear it away, an on-rushing Andrea Cambiaso pounced to fire home from close range for his very first strike in Bianconero. Mayhem ensued as he ripped off his shirt and rans uncontrollably to celebrate at the corner flag, overwhelmed with emotion, as the home faithful rejoiced in the stands. The versatile defender would score another two goals across the season, against Salernitana in the Coppa Italia and against Atalanta in Serie A.

FABIO MIRETTI

Fiorentina-Juventus, 5 November 2023. In the very next fixture following Andrea’s maiden goal, another Bianconero would score his first for the senior side. The always-tricky trip to Florence began in fine fashion when, after just ten minutes, a free-flowing move by the Bianconeri resulted in Filip Kostic feeding a ball into the box for Fabio Miretti – who had made great strides down the middle – to stick out his boot and tuck the ball home, giving Juventus the lead and recording his very first goal for the First Team, having already scored for the Under-19 and Next Gen teams. The goal would prove to be the winner as the Bianconeri extended their unbetaen run at the time to six matches.

KENAN YILDIZ

Frosinone-Juventus, 23 December 2023. A day young Kenan Yildiz will never forget. Named in the starting line-up for the very first time, it took just 11 minutes for the Turkish star to mark his fairytale day with a goal. Picking up a loose ball from Kostic on the edge of the lefthand side of the box, the forward impressively evaded three defenders before delivering a powerful strike at the near post, blasting in his first goal and celebrating by sticking out his tongue like his hero, Alessandro Del Piero. His opening strike in Juve’s eventual 2-1 victory made him the club’s youngest foreign goalscorer in Serie A at the age of 18 years and 233 days. Kenan’s breakout season would see him score three more goals, in the final away fixture in the league against Bologna, and two in the Coppa Italia – against Salernitana and Frosinone – to help his side to eventual domestic Cup honours, his first trophy at senior level.

TIMOTHY WEAH

Juventus-Salernitana, 4 January 2024. The very first fixture of the new year saw Juventus host Salernitana in their Coppa Italia Round of 16 match-up. Summer signing Timothy Weah was named on the bench, but came on in the 66th minute for his 15th appearance of the campaign – and what a memorable cameo it would be. With Juventus cruising at 5-1 up, the American received a pass from Manuel Locatelli before carrying the ball towards goal and, finding himself in space 30 metres out, let fly with a right-footed rocket which crashed in off the underside of the crossbar – a truly memorable strike for his first goal in Bianconero.
