Mak 7 Cruise

MAK7 insignia

MAK7 is a 24 ′ 7 ″ / 7.5 m monohull sailboat designed by Leszec Gomciarz and built by Yacht Service starting in 2008.

Drawing of MAK7

Rig and Sails

Auxilary power, accomodations, calculations.

The theoretical maximum speed that a displacement hull can move efficiently through the water is determined by it's waterline length and displacement. It may be unable to reach this speed if the boat is underpowered or heavily loaded, though it may exceed this speed given enough power. Read more.

Classic hull speed formula:

Hull Speed = 1.34 x √LWL

Max Speed/Length ratio = 8.26 ÷ Displacement/Length ratio .311 Hull Speed = Max Speed/Length ratio x √LWL

Sail Area / Displacement Ratio

A measure of the power of the sails relative to the weight of the boat. The higher the number, the higher the performance, but the harder the boat will be to handle. This ratio is a "non-dimensional" value that facilitates comparisons between boats of different types and sizes. Read more.

SA/D = SA ÷ (D ÷ 64) 2/3

  • SA : Sail area in square feet, derived by adding the mainsail area to 100% of the foretriangle area (the lateral area above the deck between the mast and the forestay).
  • D : Displacement in pounds.

Ballast / Displacement Ratio

A measure of the stability of a boat's hull that suggests how well a monohull will stand up to its sails. The ballast displacement ratio indicates how much of the weight of a boat is placed for maximum stability against capsizing and is an indicator of stiffness and resistance to capsize.

Ballast / Displacement * 100

Displacement / Length Ratio

A measure of the weight of the boat relative to it's length at the waterline. The higher a boat’s D/L ratio, the more easily it will carry a load and the more comfortable its motion will be. The lower a boat's ratio is, the less power it takes to drive the boat to its nominal hull speed or beyond. Read more.

D/L = (D ÷ 2240) ÷ (0.01 x LWL)³

  • D: Displacement of the boat in pounds.
  • LWL: Waterline length in feet

Comfort Ratio

This ratio assess how quickly and abruptly a boat’s hull reacts to waves in a significant seaway, these being the elements of a boat’s motion most likely to cause seasickness. Read more.

Comfort ratio = D ÷ (.65 x (.7 LWL + .3 LOA) x Beam 1.33 )

  • D: Displacement of the boat in pounds
  • LOA: Length overall in feet
  • Beam: Width of boat at the widest point in feet

Capsize Screening Formula

This formula attempts to indicate whether a given boat might be too wide and light to readily right itself after being overturned in extreme conditions. Read more.

CSV = Beam ÷ ³√(D / 64)

There is also a more cruising oriented version.

Yacht Service Mak7 Race image

Yacht Service Mak7 Race

Description.

In difference to the Cruise the mak7 Race offers a pure performance oriented deck. The bigger cockpit and the wider side decks give the crew more space for precision racing. This makes the cabin of the mak7 Race slightly slimmer but still offers enough space to accomodate four adults. The cockpit is equipped with a large storage locker and foot supports to get a good foothold while heeling and sailing through rough conditions. The open cockpit allows a wider range of mobility for fast maneuvers and with the performance optimized layout of traveler, halyards, trim lines, blocks and cleats, the mak7 Race guaranties easy handling and high speed sailing to satisfy the competive appetite

Ferry From HAVELOCK ISLAND (SWARAJDWEEP) to PORT BLAIR

Ferry from neil island (shaheed dweep) to port blair, ferry from port blair to havelock island (swarajdweep).

Makruzz is one of the oldest and most reputed ferry companies in Andamans. The Makruzz 1 started operating in 2009 and is still functional in Andamans along with the cruises of different brands. Over the years Makruzz Cruises have progressed and are doing extremely well in transferring people from one island to another with great comfort and services.

The Makruzz family has a fleet of 3 cruises- Makruzz 1, Makruzz Gold, and Makruzz Pearl. Each of the cruises gives you a different experience in terms of the interiors, services, speed, comfort, and seating but the main goal is to provide a smooth trip for its passengers.

Makruzz 1 is the first cruise introduced by the M.V. Makruzz Company. It is a closed deck cruise with comfortable seating and good service. It is a high-speed catamaran and is first of its kind in Andamans.  The seating capacity is about 250 seats divided into 3 categories – Economy, Deluxe, and Luxury/Royal. Each category has different experiences to offer the passengers in terms of seating space, seats, services, and hospitality. The view gets better at each deck and that one of the major reasons for passengers to opt for the higher categories.

The cruise is fully air-conditioned and the seats are comfortable with adequate legroom space. Seating arrangement differs in each category and a huge transparent glass runs through the entire cruise to provide the customers with views of the sea.  The cruise has televisions, restrooms, and an in-board pantry. A music system is available for entertainment purposes. The restrooms are clean and comfortable. The pantry is well stocked with snacks and beverages.

Makruzz 1 sails from Port Blair-Havelock-Neil-Port Blair. It departs from Haddo Wharf Jetty. The journey takes about 90 minutes from Port Blair to the destination on a one-way trip.

Makruzz has the option of online & advance booking of ferry tickets but the only drawback is that it does not allow you to choose the seats as per your preference. It follows the first-come-first-serve-basis of seating and allots seats according to the booking patterns.  We recommend you to choose Makruzz 1 for at least one trip to experience riding on the first-ever private cruise that sailed in Andamans.

mak7 cruise

We love hearing from guests about their time in Russia and one comment often hear is how surprised people are by the Russian capital. We can’t say for certain what people expected but we do know that it’s always far removed from what they imagined! It’s been called a modern metropolis, a cosmopolitan city, an historic gem, an architectural treasure and a cultural powerhouse, among other descriptions. Majestic Moscow has always surprised our guests and left them with lasting and fond memories.

Russia’s famous Golden Ring is an archipelago of historic towns surrounding Moscow. Uglich is one of the oldest and was founded under Igor, the last Varangian prince. It once resisted the Mongol invasion and its ancient walls saw the grisly murder of young Dmitri, son of Ivan the Terrible. The impressive Church of St. Dmitri on the Blood, with its classic onion domes and blood red walls, is a fine example of classic Russian architecture. The tour ends with an enchanting choral concert.

This, the oldest city on the Volga River, and now a UNESCO World Heritage site, boasts a wealth of ancient orthodox treasures. The impressive Transfiguration of the Savior, adorned with murals depicting St. John’s apocalyptic visions can be seen in the Spassky Monastery. The Church of St. Elijah the Prophet is decorated with an awe-inspiring selection of rich frescoes. For a real taste of pre-revolutionary Russia, visitors are entertained by a costumed reception at the Governor’s House.

Close to the shores of White Lake once were the ‘tsar’s fishing grounds’. It lies in a place so serene that ancient monks chose to build no fewer than three holy sites here, including the Ferapontov Monastery. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, its chapels boast magnificent frescoes by Dionysius, one of Russia’s most renowned icon painters. The Kirillo-Belozersky Monastery was a refuge for many nobles during tumultuous times and later a fortress that successfully repelled invading armies.

The Karelia region is a vast and naturally beautiful wilderness that spreads all the way from St. Petersburg to the Arctic Circle. The glorious island village of Kizhi consists almost entirely of the traditionally styled wooden buildings of ‘Old Russia’. Among them is the famous Transfiguration Church built in 1714. Remarkably, and in testament to the craftsmen of the time, not a single nail was used in its construction! Kizhi is one of the favorite stops on the river cruise to St. Petersburg.

A typical rural hamlet brought to life by warm and welcoming villagers. Volga Dream guests are invited into local homes to enjoy classic Russian fare, tea with jam and ‘pirozhki’ (pies). Enthusiastic hosts share Russian traditions and the appeal of village life while proudly showing off their scrupulously kept homes and kitchen gardens. The tour continues with a brief bus ride to see a unique World War II memorial and then, for a real glimpse of Russian life, a visit to a local primary school.

Nizhny Novgorod

This was once a wealthy city thanks to its proximity to rich eastern trading routes. During the Soviet era, the city was closed to outsiders because of its military importance. It’s also where many political prisoners were sent to live out their days in exile. The 16th-century Kremlin ramparts offer spectacular views and the city is known for its elaborately decorated churches. For Volga Dream cruise guests, the highlight of the day is an evening folk concert performed by local children.

Sailing along the Volga river, the riverbank gradually ceases to be dominated by Orthodox churches. Instead, beautiful mosques appear as the river crosses into Tatarstan where the first stop is scenic Kazan, the region’s capital. Inside the white walls of the citadel, the famous Kul Sharif mosque and the old Cathedral of Peter and Paul stand side-by-side symbolizing the two faiths’ long and peaceful coexistence in the region. A concert of traditional Tatar music ends the Volga Dream tour in Kazan.

Passing the Zhigulevskie Mountains offers wonderful views from the sundeck before touring the city. One of the key attractions is the fascinating Space Museum, which offers a revealing glimpse of how the Soviet Union pursued its ambitious journey to the cosmos. The town is also noted for its beautiful esplanade, perfect for a relaxed stroll beside the Volga river. This in turn leads to the Samara State Art Museum. Founded in 1897, it is home to a collection of more than 16,000 works of art.

This city is best known for its close associations with cosmonaut, Yuri Gagarin. The Russian hero who achieved worldwide fame as the first man in space lived and studied here. Saratov used to be home to a large German community, a heritage that can still be seen in the local architecture. The Volga Dream tour visits the Radishchev State Art Museum, the first picture gallery in Russia outside Moscow and St. Petersburg.

Originally called Tsaritsyn, the city was renamed Stalingrad from 1925 to 1961 in honor of the USSR’s leader. During World War II, the city’s residents put up a heroic defense, repelling an advancing Nazi invasion. The battle for Stalingrad has gone down in history as a pivotal moment in the bloody conflict on the eastern front. The most ferocious and deadly fighting took place on Mamayev Hill, where an imposing memorial now stands close to the excellent Battle of Stalingrad Panorama Museum.

Saint Petersburg

If Moscow surprises, then St Petersburg delights. Peter the Great founded the city to showcase Russia’s newfound enlightenment. He wanted to show the modern world a cultured and advanced society. In short, he built the city to impress and in that he succeeded splendidly! The striking buildings were designed by some of the finest architects Europe had to offer and even now, the ‘Venice of the North’ never fails to enchant with its spectacular buildings and impressive canal network. It is a city of true grandeur.

Cocktails with the Captain

Commanding any ship is a complex role that calls for a long list of skills. Captains know their vessels inside out as well as well as the routes they sail and when things don’t go to plan, they have to make instant decisions. Above all though, the most important part of the job, underpinning everything they do, is to keep the ship and everyone aboard safe. The Captain’s cocktail party is a great and a wonderful opportunity for passengers and crew to get acquainted as the gets underway.

Matryoshka doll painting

There is nothing more typically Russian than a Matryoshka. It embodies the fact that there’s always something deeper to be found in every aspect of Russian life. Learning the traditional designs and techniques used to decorate these iconic dolls offers a pleasant diversion and some cathartic creativity!

Superb Service & Dining

Our restaurant serves the highest standard of international cuisine, freshly made by our Cordon Bleu Chef. Choose either a sumptuous buffet or set menu for lunch while dinner is always four or five courses with full service. High praise for the exquisite quality of meals is yet another constantly recurring feature in feedback from our guests.

Meet the Professor

From the Mongol hordes to Soviet times, Russia’s history is, like all of Europe’s, a complex web of political intrigue, war and peace, trade and treaties, as well as heroes and villains. Academics devote whole lifetimes to studying Russia’s long past and one of them presents a series of lectures shedding light on everything from Gorbachev to Chekhov, Khrushchev to Ivan the Terrible and of course, contemporary Russia. Our Professor is on board throughout the river cruise for informal conversation.

Beginner’s Russian

The Russian language can be rather beautiful and poetic and we know that many seasoned travelers enjoy trying their hand at different languages. Our onboard teachers provide an introduction to the riches of Russian, so guests can try out a few useful words and phrases on real Russians during the exciting river tours from Moscow to St. Petersburg or from Moscow to Volgograd!

Russian tea tasting

The drink we tend to associate with Russia is vodka, but tea, in fact, is the much more universal beverage of choice throughout the country. Guests will get acquainted with the Russian tea etiquette, a fundamental component of the country's social culture, and enjoy the traditional tea ceremony while cruising from St. Petersburg to Moscow or taking a Grand Volga river tour.

Russian Dinner & Vodka Tasting

All our dining is international but for Russian Dining night, the Chef includes a selection of traditional Russian dishes: Chicken Kiev, Kulebyaka and no Russian table is complete without Borsch. To add to the ‘Taste of Russia’ optional Russian dress, or at least a touch of Russian style, is provided along with enthusiastic help from our staff!

Russian Cooking Class

A plate of pelmeni might not look like much to the untrained eye, but it forms the heart of Russian cuisine and culture. Basically, it's a type of dumpling: small portions of meat and onion wrapped in a thin sheet of unleavened dough and boiled, a little like ravioli. Some of the greatest classical music ever written comes from Russia. It’s hard to imagine a more fitting stage for a virtuoso solo recital by our resident concert pianist than the mighty Volga or a better backdrop than the heart of Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninov’s own serene homeland.

MSC is expanding its US presence with seven ships homeporting from Miami, Port Canaveral, New York City, and Galveston. MSC Grandiosa will join MSC Seashore at Port Canaveral, while MSC Seascape will begin cruising from Galveston in November 2025.

Most sailings feature stops at Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, the cruise operator’s private destination in the Bahamas.

Eastern Caribbean trips will call on Costa Maya and Cozumel, Mexico, and Isla de Roatan, Honduras. Meanwhile, Western Caribbean trips will include visits to San Juan, Puerto Rico, Puerto Plata, and the Dominican Republic.
  • MSC Seaside will depart Nassau on 3-, 4-, and 7-night itineraries to the Western and Eastern Caribbean.
  • MSC Divina will embark on 7-, 10-, and 11-night Caribbean journeys. Longer journeys include visits to Cabo Rojo, Dominican Republic; Oranjestad, Aruba; Cartagena, Colombia; and Puerto Limon, Costa Rica.

Eastern routes include stops at Montego Bay, Jamaica; George Town, Cayman Islands; and Nassau, The Bahamas. Western itineraries will explore Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic; Nassau, The Bahamas; Charlotte Amalie, US Virgin Islands.
  • MSC Seashore offers shorter 3- and 4-night voyages to Nassau.

New York City Itineraries

You can also explore the Bahamas and Florida onboard MSC Meraviglia . Seven-night cruises will call on Nassau, The Bahamas, and Port Canaveral, Florida.

Homeporting in the country for the first time, MSC Seascape will treat vacationers to 7-night Western Caribbean adventures. Stops include Cozumel, Costa Maya, Mexico, and Isla de Roatan, Honduras.

MSC is increasing its local capacity with a fourth cruise terminal in Galveston and bringing MSC Grandiosa to Port Canaveral.

The cruise line’s winter season will nearly double the number of its cruise vessels in the US from four ships during the summer 2025 cruising season to seven.

We quit our high-paying finance jobs to flip houses and travel the world - now we're taking our kids on a $70,000 world cruise

A couple who was 'sick of asking permission to go on holiday' quit their high-paying corporate jobs to flip houses - and they're now taking their kids on a $70,000 five-month cruise around the world.

Tiffany, 38, and Mark Baker, 40, left their finance roles in January 2019, and from then on, they committed to 'living life their way.'

They then started earning a living by flipping houses, and the couple now owns 35 different properties - from houses to commercial buildings - which they rent out.

They use the money they make from their real estate endeavors to travel the world with their daughters: Giuletta, nine; Penelope, seven; and Delia, six.

Most recently, the family are preparing to embark on the adventure of a lifetime - a cruise around the globe set to visit a whopping 21 countries.

Mark explained recently: 'We have probably flipped 50 houses over the last five years.

'Flipping those houses has allowed us to start renting out properties. We have around 35 properties and they bring in $20,000 a month.'

For their latest trip funded by the rental income, the parents are planning on taking the gang on a globe-spanning cruise, scheduled for stops at 50 ports in 21 countries - including in Australia, Africa,  Spain and Singapore .

The pair will homeschool their children as they work remotely from the ship.

The trip will begin in December, when the family is slated to fly from their home in Terre Haute, Indiana , to Prague, Czech Republic.

There, they'll visit Prague's famed Christmas  markets, and after that, they will fly to Marseilles, France , from where the cruise will depart.

Tiffany and Mark have put down $70,000 for two bedrooms on the cruise.

That cost covers activities on board, food, and drink.

With that, they've also given themselves a $10,000 spending allowance.

'We operate on 12-month goals … we thought, "One of these days we will take our kids on a cruise,"' Mark said of their travel goals as a family.

'This world cruise was one of our goals.

'Tiffany planted the seed while we were on a drive back from our vacation in New Orleans, Louisiana, and she said, "Why don't we do the cruise now?"

'We looked into it and it has worked out.'

Of the decision to leave their full-time jobs in 2019, Tiffany said: 'The reason we did that was we didn't have a work-life balance.

'It didn't sit well with us that we had to ask permission for a day off.

'When we quit our jobs it was more to design our lives and live them unapologetically.'

'With our daughters being in school, we realized that the schools were now dictating when we could go on holiday… We had the same realization that we did when we quit our jobs,' Tiffany continued of her daughters' school schedules.

Of the brief stretch they'll have in Europe before the cruise departs, Tiffany said: 'We love Europe, we lived there for four years - there is something special about it.'

She continued of the cruise's itinerary: 'We have visited Bali and Indonesia before and had a special trip there so we are excited to go back there and visit friends.'

Mark added: 'We have never been to Rio De Janeiro, Brazil - that will be a cool place.

'Australia has always been on out list and the ships itinerary laps the continent down there.'

Tiffany and Mark said both their daughters were 'super excited' for the cruise, but admitted homeschooling them might be a challenge.

'The children are so excited. They were all born in different countries - Italy, USA and Japan,' Tiffany shared.

'Our nine-year-old is on her fifth passport. For me I am looking forward to see if it works, to see if I can home school our daughters from anywhere on the planet.'

Mark added: 'It is about taking the chance to see whether we can do it and make it work.

'The worst scenario is that doesn't work - normal school will be waiting for them.'

City & Shore Magazine

City & shore magazine | a postcard from ‘grandeur,’ regent seven seas’ newest cruise ship.

The 'Grandeur' at dawn in PortMiami.

Why we wish you were here

Because Grandeur’s about as close as you’re going to feel you’ve boarded a private yacht on a commercial cruise ship.

Not that boarding here is particularly stressful, but there are chilled flutes of Heidsieck Monopole Blue Top Brut waiting at the end of the gangway from everything you left behind at PortMiami. There’s another bottle of Monopole in an ice bucket in your suite, too, in the unlikely event you feel any stress getting there.

The 332-square-foot Concierge Suite feels spacious, with a walk-in closet and good separation between the cabin door and the living areas. A valet brings the luggage and sets it on a welcome blanket across the king-sized bed. The 83-square-foot balcony is bigger than some cabins – possibly homes –  I’ve personally occupied, and comes with a pair of 8.5 x 21 Pentax Papillo II binoculars, because you’re going to see some things from up here.

There’s a shower and tub in the marbled bathroom. Lavender bubble bath and jasmine shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and body milk, all by L’Occitane. There’s a phone in there, too, in case you think of anything you may require from the steward. (He was out in the hall memorizing guest names the last time I saw him. He remembered mine. Even pronounced it correctly). Details you’d expect on a private yacht.

View of Miami from a suite aboard 'Grandeur.'

Everywhere throughout this 14-deck, 735-foot ship, there are such small, elegant touches that say big things. The tables spread with white linens in the stylish Compass Rose dining room on Deck 4 are set with Rosenthal Versace china designed exclusively for Regent Seven Seas Cruises. The cozy loungers and Jacuzzis off the Serene Spa & Wellness Center on Deck 5 overlook the ship’s wake and, shhhhhh , hardly anyone knows about them.

Then there’s the haute cuisine and the name-dropping Louis VIII, Opus One, Stag’s Leap Wine Cellar labels around the ship. And the feeling you’ve checked into a boutique hotel at sea. Or a private yacht. One where the Caribbean or the Mediterranean or the Gulf of St. Lawrence comes to you.

What they’re drinking

Strawberry Sparklers aboard 'Grandeur.'

Strawberry Sparkler

Ingredients

5 ozs. High-quality prosecco

¾ oz. Fragoli, a wild strawberry liqueur

1 Tbsp. Fresh strawberries, puréed

Sliced fresh strawberries (for garnish)

Sliced fresh lemon (for garnish)

An homage to Grandeur’s Italian shipyard roots, this simple cocktail is pretty and refreshing. Purée the fresh strawberries, strain the fiber from the liquid; add strawberry liquids and chilled prosecco in a champagne glass. Serve with a slice or two of strawberry and lemon.

“Do I want a big pop or small pop? [Crowd, answering, timidly: “uh, small pop?”] Small pop, right! Why do I want a small pop? [Crowd shifts silently, not sure.] Because chefs are cheap! We like to save money. So what we love to do is save as much champagne or prosecco as possible.”

– Culinary Arts Kitchen Cooking Class Chef John Stephano, showing his 18 students how to open a bottle of bubbly without losing a drop.

What’s cooking

Chef John Stephano shows his class aboard 'Grandeur' how to plate the crepes they will make.

There are four specialty restaurants aboard Grandeur, and one cooking class that can teach you how to make your own memorable meal.

“What do you never want to do on vacation?” Chef John Stephano teases the 18 guests before his hour-long Culinary Arts Cooking Class. “The last thing you ever want to do is the dishes. Anybody who really struggles in their culinary skills today we’ll be sending down to the galleys to help us out.”

Nervous laughs around the cooking stations in the Culinary Arts Kitchen on Deck 11.

“No, not at all!” he says, laughing, before showing his class how to make Pasta al Limone and classic French crêpes with allspice berry ice cream.

Stephano comes from a big Irish-Italian family in Philadelphia, where there was always something cooking on the stove, he says. Since no open-flame gas burners are allowed on the ship, he’s had to adapt some of his grandmother’s recipes to the induction cooktops each member of his class gets to work with.

“You can’t use regular pots and pans on these stoves – they have to be magnetic,’’ he says. “I always hear from someone who likes cooking with induction so much here they want to get it at home, then find out they have to change all of their cooking utensils.”

For the pasta dish, students learn what mise en place means (literally, everything in place), whether to add the oil to the water or the pan, how to use a zester for the lemon, whether to rip or cut the basil and how to serve pasta (in a warm bowl warmed with the pasta water.) After about 20 minutes of the chef’s steady guidance, everyone’s pasta al limone looks ready for the cover of a food magazine.

“Who wants a picture with their pasta!?” Everyone does.

The crêpe instruction follows, including a two-handed, chef-secret dump and roll maneuver to get the batter to spread evenly on the pan.

“I want you to ease in, like you’re driving a race car,’’ he says, demonstrating. “No flipping crêpes here – try that at home if you like.”

Twenty minutes later, the crêpes also all look magazine-cover ready. (It may help that Strawberry Sparkler cocktails were served before class began).

“Nice job,’’ Stephano says, reviewing mine.

“Thanks, chef!” I say, not exactly ready to join the cast of The Bear but ridiculously impressed with myself.

Faberge egg aboard 'Grandeur.'

Don’t miss, part I

Impossible to miss, really, because Grandeur’s Fabergé egg is among the first things you see (after the welcome champagne) when you board on Deck 5. Sarah Fabergé, great-grand daughter of Peter Fabergé, was aboard for the christening of the ship and unveiling of the 180 mm, diamond, pearl and emerald egg last December in Miami. If you must ask, “I can’t disclose the value – other than it was created especially for Regent,’’ a spokesperson says. “I will say it’s in the multi millions.” And worth even more to lend the impression you’ve stepped onto someone’s private yacht. Someone with deep pockets – and considerable taste in art.

The library aboard 'Grandeur.'

Don’t miss part II

While some cruise lines are downsizing – even replacing ship libraries with crêpe stations ( ca alors !) – Grandeur’s library is lovingly, borderline reverently, tended. If libraries are making a last stand, this one’s an oceangoing Alamo – with eclectic out-of-nowhere titles ranging from “L’Âpre et splendide Espagne” by Camille Mauclair to “The Bazaars of Istanbul” by Isabel Bocking. Biography, history, fiction, large print, nautical transport, practical advice, reference, science & natural history, sports & leisure, travel & travel writing, visual arts and children’s books – all within easy-to-grab and sprawl on a nearby comfy couch or chair.

Not that there’s anything wrong with the live shows in the two-level Constellation Theater, featuring a demographically hep mix of hits from the ’70s, ’80s and ’90s performed by an earnest troupe of singers and dancers. They’re fine after-dinner diversions. But “Key Largo” is playing on a loop on the big-screen TV in the cabin. And if you haven’t seen it, it’s one of Bogie and Bacall’s best. Just saying.

Sunrise jogging on the 'Grandeur' track.

Regent Seven Seas Grandeur

Accommodating 744 guests, with 372 suites and 532 crew. Four specialty restaurants, including Compass Rose; Pacific Rim, an Asian-Fusion restaurant; Chartreuse, a French restaurant; Prime 7, a steakhouse. Casual eateries include Sette Mari, at the back of La Veranda dining area on Deck 11, which does breakfast and lunch in the morning/afternoon and Italian food at night; pool-grille cafe/buffet and Coffee Connection. Fitness center and spa with a sauna. Jogging track, putting green, bocce court, pickleball court. Boutique, casino, business center, among other amenities. The Grandeur is sailing the Mediterranean now through August. It returns to PortMiami (from New  York) on Nov. 7, where it will resume various itineraries through March 2025 before returning to Europe.
