D onald Trump received $5.75 million in royalties over the past 18 months for “Our Journey Together,” a coffee-table book of photos from his presidency. The former president used a private family company to publish a work of mostly taxpayer-subsidized material, then boosted sales with donor funds.

In a financial disclosure filed last week, Trump reported $5.75 million in royalties in connection with a publishing agreement for “A MAGA Journey.”

That title was the initial name for “Our Journey Together,” which showcases photos by Trump’s official White House photographer and were already in the public domain and available for anyone to use. The former president added his own captions.

A spokesperson for his publisher, a company cofounded by Donald Trump Jr. and a former campaign staffer named Sergio Gor, said “Our Journey Together” sold more than 500,000 copies. The representative refused to provide documentation to back up that figure, which Forbes was unable to independently verify. NPD BookScan, an industry data service, tracked 10,200 sales at retailers through January 2023. NPD BookScan doesn’t track purchases directly from a book’s website , though, which appears to have been a major sales avenue for “Our Journey Together.” The book originally sold for $75, with signed copies going for $230.

Trump’s political operation did its part to boost sales. In 2022, the former president’s joint fundraising committee and political action committee paid Winning Team Publishing , which released the book, $231,000. Spokespeople for the committees did not respond to recent inquiries. In December 2022, though, a spokesperson confirmed that at least $48,000 of the joint-fundraising committee’s disbursements were for “Our Journey Together.” That committee is still offering copies in exchange for donations of $75 or more.

“Our Journey Together’s” $5.75 million payout dwarfed the other royalty payments Trump reported receiving over the past 18 months. “The Art of the Deal,” published in 1987, brought in somewhere between $100,000 and $1 million, according to the filing, which lists the income of Trump’s older books in broad ranges. Four other books each earned him $5,000 to $15,000, one made $2,500 to $5,000 and 10 earned less than $200.

Trump’s disclosure identifies the payments for “Our Journey Together” as coming from a company named Gold Standard Publishing LLC. “The payments were made from Winning Team Publishing,” said a spokesperson for Winning Team. “We have alerted those who filed the paperwork.”

Trump also disclosed that Winning Team Publishing paid his wife, Melania, $250,000 in licensing fees. The spokesperson said that payment was for promoting “Our Journey Together.”

This April, Winning Team Publishing released a follow-up, “Letters to Trump,” charging $100, with autographed copies priced at $400. The 320-page book features correspondence to Trump from the past 40 years, along with his commentary. Unwitting contributors include Kim Jong Un, Alec Baldwin and Hillary Clinton.

Trump Is Publishing a Photo Book of His Time in Office

“Our Journey Together” includes more than 300 photographs, along with captions written by the former president.

By Elizabeth A. Harris and Alexandra Alter

Donald J. Trump is publishing a book of photographs celebrating his time as president, according to a statement from his office. Titled “Our Journey Together,” the book includes more than 300 photographs and captions written by Mr. Trump.

The book will be released on Dec. 7. It’s being published by Winning Team Publishing, an imprint co-founded by Donald Trump Jr. and Sergio Gor, who worked for Mr. Trump’s re-election campaign in 2020. It’s unclear if Mr. Trump shopped the book around to traditional publishers, but several industry executives said they hadn’t heard about the book.

“Our Journey Together” — which is priced at $74.99, or $229.99 for a signed copy — is not a comprehensive look back on his presidency. Rumors of a more exhaustive memoir by Mr. Trump have circulated in recent months. The former president has boasted of turning down offers from two publishers. This summer, in a statement released through his political action committee, Mr. Trump said he was “writing like crazy,” and promised that “when the time comes, you’ll see the book of all books.”

The photo compilation will be available for sale through Amazon and Barnes & Noble, and on a website called 45books.

Several prominent figures from the Trump administration have signed major book deals, including Kellyanne Conway, Mike Pence and Jared Kushner. Some in the industry have questioned whether a large mainstream publisher would take on a memoir by Mr. Trump, given the controversy such a deal would likely generate. Others have expressed doubt that a book by Mr. Trump, who continues to insist that he won the 2020 election, would be factually accurate.

The Donald Trump book boom continues, with many of this fall’s tomes documenting the former president’s refusal to concede the last election. But now Trump himself has entered the fray, announcing his first post-presidential book.

The developer-turned-reality host-turned-45th leader of the free world trumpeted the arrival of “Our Journey Together,” a collection of photos, in a statement issued Friday.

“Today I am thrilled to announce I will be publishing a wonderful book in time for Christmas!” Trump said in the statement. “Our Journey Together is a collection of beautiful photos captured during our very successful time in the White House. From center stage to behind-the-scenes — this is a must-have for all Patriots.”

The former president promised “unforgettable” moments, including “building the Southern Border Wall; cutting America’s taxes; confirming almost 300 federal judges and 3 Supreme Court justices; rebuilding our military; creating Space Force ; dealing with Kim Jong-Un, President Xi, President Putin , and many other world leaders; and battling liberals on two Impeachment Witch Hunts, just to name a few.”

A photo book is a departure from recent post-presidential literary efforts. President Obama’s first book after leaving office in 2017 was the 2020 memoir “ A Promised Land .” In 2010, President Bush published his memoir “Decision Points.” President Clinton, who left the White House in 2001, published the autobiography “My Life” in 2004.

They were all lengthy and substantive, though the two Democrats (Clinton, 786 pages; Obama, 1,008 pages) decisively outweighed Bush (486 pages). The page count on “Our Journey Together” was not available, but Trump promised that “[e]very photograph has been handpicked by me and every caption is mine, some in my own handwriting.”

The Washington Examiner , the first outlet to report on the book, reproduced a few of its photos and captions, which signify a departure in tone as well as substance from predecessors’ books.

“Attempting to listen to Crazy Nancy Pelosi in the Oval Office — such natural disagreement,” runs the line beneath a photo of the House Speaker, Vice President Mike Pence and Trump. Another, referring to the killing of Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi, claims, “We destroyed ISIS under my watch. Now terrorists are back in the Middle East.”

Neither of these captions appear to be handwritten.

Trump’s book retails for $79.95, or $229.95 for an autographed copy. It’s available for pre-order at 45books.com and will start shipping in mid-December.

Read the Nastiest Lines From Trump’s $75 Burn Book

Portrait of Margaret Hartmann

Six months after leaving office in a calamitous fashion, Donald Trump announced in a cryptic statement that he was writing a book. Well, not just a book. The former president claimed that despite turning down offers from two publishers, “I’m writing like crazy anyway, however, and when the time comes, you’ll see the book of all books.”

Many presumed that Trump meant he was working on his memoirs, so he was widely mocked when Our Journey Together dropped in November and the “book of all books” turned out to be a collection of 300 pictures from his presidency with some Sharpie-scrawled captions and an absurd price tag ($74.99 or $229.99 for a signed edition). Copies of the book were soon scarce, which Team Trump claimed was evidence of its popularity . (Trump also blamed supply-chain issues, complaining, “We can’t get leather for the covers.” The original book is not leather-bound, but the version in the new $999 “special edition” bundle might be.) On further inspection, however, the book’s initial print run of 200,000 copies was far less than the typical post-presidential book sells in its first 24 hours.

After finally getting my hands on this cash-grab coffee-table book, I think Trump’s only real misstep was letting Winning Team Publishing, a new venture co-founded by his son Donald Trump Jr., release it. The publicity tour mainly consisted of Don Jr. telling Axios, “My father picked every single photo in this book, wrote all the captions, including some by hand.” This fails to capture the absurd majesty of Our Journey Together . Indeed, Trump was writing “like crazy”; some of his captions are so nasty and immature that the book feels like the former president just published his personal burn book. Perhaps if Don Jr. made this clear, Our Journey Together would be racking up some Obama-esque book sales. Here are some of Trump’s most unpresidential musings.

our journey together sales

“Barack and Michelle Obama get ready to depart Washington. Goodbye!”

It’s clear from page one that Our Journey Together is not the kind of staid coffee-table book you might pick up at the White House gift shop. Trump’s handwritten dedication includes a shoutout to “the deplorables” and the first caption alludes obliquely to his stolen-election conspiracy theory . “Inauguration Day, 2016. I ran even better in 2020,” he writes. The section on Trump’s inauguration also includes several jabs at Barack Obama. Trump asserts “America was ready for GREATNESS after eight years with very little results,” and exclaims “Goodbye!” under a shot of the Obamas departing D.C. after Trump was sworn in.

“Attempting to listen to Crazy Nancy Pelosi in the Oval Office — such natural disagreement.” “Here she makes her remarks prior to leaving, then she gave the press a totally different summation of what actually happened. Dealing with these people is far more difficult than dealing with the heads of other countries. So bad for America.”

Throughout the book, Trump praises various leaders of authoritarian regimes without reservation, including Kim Jong-un (a “very tough and smart” guy who made Trump feel “very safe” while in North Korea), Xi Jinping (“a man whom I totally respect”), and Rodrigo Duterte (“A guy with a lot of flair and fight. Loves his country and sings just like Frank Sinatra”).

In contrast, he has nothing but unkind words for Democratic congressional leaders, and he devotes a good amount of space to a context-free complaint about some disagreement he had with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

our journey together sales

“She was screaming and shaking like a leaf. She’s F…ing CRAZY — hence the name Crazy Nancy.”

Later, Trump takes us through his creative process for crafting the nickname “Crazy Pelosi.” He reveals that the moniker was inspired by his belief that Speaker Pelosi is “F…ing CRAZY.”

our journey together sales

“There was nothing I could have done to make the radical left ladies in white smile — but I tried!”

Democratic women in Congress wore “suffragette white” attire to several of Trump’s State of the Union addresses to highlight women’s issues and celebrate the 100th anniversary of women getting the right to vote.

It’s unclear which year’s speech is shown here, as Our Journey Together does not contain proper photo credits. Instead, 13 photographers are mentioned on the acknowledgments page, after Trump’s children and “all the American patriots who made this journey possible.” One of the photographers, Shealah Craighead, had a deal to publish her own book of Trump photos , but the former president’s team reportedly asked for a cut of her advance, then told her to hold off so they could publish Our Journey Together first.

our journey together sales

“Mark Zuckerberg would come to the White House and kiss my ass. His censorship is terrible for America. His ‘campaign contributions’ even worse!”

Donald Trump and Mark Zuckerberg were once so close that they enjoyed secret dinners at the White House , but their relationship soured when the CEO announced that he was banning Trump from Facebook and Instagram for fomenting an insurrection. Trump hit back in Our Journey Together by accusing Zuckerberg of trying to “kiss my ass.” The “campaign contributions” line is probably a reference to the conspiracy theory that Zuckerberg’s $400 million  in contributions to local governments to cover 2020 election administration costs was part of a nefarious scheme to elect Joe Biden. There’s no way to deduce this from the text alone, but there’s a good chance that almost everyone reading Our Journey Together also follows Trump’s ravings on Truth Social .

our journey together sales

“Some conservative patriots and some weak RINOs joined me at the White House to advocate for our tax cut.”

While the lack of detail in Trump’s captions often just sows confusion, here it’s deployed quite cleverly. The photo shows a gathering of various Republican elected officials, including Mike Pence, Mitch McConnell, Paul Ryan, Tim Scott, Ron DeSantis, and Kevin McCarthy. Who falls into the “conservative patriot” category and who’s a “weak RINO”? There’s no way to know, but I’m pretty sure the question has been keeping Kevin McCarthy up at night.

our journey together sales

“John McCain visited me in the White House, asking for a job for his wife. I am smiling, but I didn’t like him even a little bit.”

Between Trump insisting that John McCain wasn’t a war hero then raising the White House flag from half-staff immediately after his death, you’ve probably deduced that he didn’t care for the Arizona senator . But Trump felt it was important to take another jab at McCain in print, devoting a two-page spread to the senator just so he could declare, “I didn’t like him even a little bit.”

our journey together sales

“I used John Bolton when necessary because all he wanted to do was go to war with other countries. I didn’t, but good for negotiating purposes. He was dumb as a rock.”

In addition to lashing out at Democratic rivals and Republicans who’ve crossed him, Trump also takes a shot at former national security adviser John Bolton , whom he fired over Twitter. In 2020, Trump said he lost confidence in his adviser because he supported the Iraq War — a very famous Bolton fact that Trump ostensibly only learned after he joined his administration. But in Our Journey Together , Trump casts his hiring of Bolton as part of some kind of multidimensional chess game he was playing with fellow world leaders.

our journey together sales

“I like Marine One better.”

It’s very normal for presidents to make quips about how much they enjoy flying on Air Force One. But Trump is not a normal man, he’s a man who once body-shamed an aircraft carrier . It appears that Trump included a photo of this Sikorsky S76-B helicopter that he owned before becoming president — and put up for sale in November 2020 — just so he could berate it for not being as nice as the presidential chopper.

Donald Trump’s photo memoir is revisionist history and old grudges

our journey together sales

Last June, in a moment of unintentional honesty, Donald Trump said, “I’m writing like crazy.”

Yesterday, I received my official copy of the former president’s recently published picture-book memoir, “Our Journey Together” ($74.99, plus shipping). The publisher gushes that “every photograph has been handpicked by the President.” But only 20 of the images include captions written with the famous Sharpie; most are just typed out in a fontastic italic meant to convey Trump’s bold persona.

Images are the perfect lexicon for Trump to articulate a fantastical revision of his four chaotic years in office. Freed from the complexities of language or the context of history, the former president spins a dreamscape of adulation and triumph. A shot of his inauguration crowd spread out across the Mall doesn’t have to contend with his administration’s first official alternative fact .

It’s remarkable how effectively this presentation captures Trump’s wandering mind and self-sabotaging bitterness. Early in the book, there’s a two-page spread showing men repairing a grandfather clock: “After eight years of President Obama,” Trump writes, “we needed to make the White House GREAT again.” No moment, no matter how celebratory, can calm this author’s need to lash out at his perceived enemies. Another spread shows Trump talking from a podium about his historic tax cut with “some conservative patriots and some weak RINOs.” Even death can’t quell the man’s bile: A photo in the Oval Office of Trump speaking to John and Cindy McCain says, “John McCain visited me in the White House, asking for a job for his wife. I am smiling, but I didn’t like him even a little bit.” Below a photo of an intimate dinner party that includes Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner and Mark Zuckerberg, Trump writes, “Mark Zuckerberg would come to the White House and kiss my ass.” House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), shown negotiating in a conference room, is “f---ing CRAZY – hence the name Crazy Nancy!” (That is one of the few captions written in Sharpie, and it hovers over an image of the presidential seal.)

In short, this is a memoir spun from the thin gruel of musty propaganda and cherished grudges. Turning these pages is like watching an old man dust his Hummel figurines and whine about the neighbors.

Books, speeches, hats for sale: Post-presidency, the Trumps try to make money the pre-presidency way

The book is published by Winning Team Publishing, which describes itself as “the nation’s premier conservative publishing house.” It was launched last year by Donald Trump Jr. and former Trump campaign aide Sergio Gor. “Our Journey Together” was supposed to be ready for Christmas. But Winning Team’s printer ran into supply problems. Trump told Fox News: “They have no paper, they have no glue, they have no leather.” Make that pleather , but that’s no matter. The man who once hawked vodka, real estate classes, spring water and steaks is on a roll.

‘He never stopped ripping things up’: Inside Trump’s relentless document destruction habits

Appropriately, his nominations of Supreme Court justices are highlighted, but for some reason, the book includes four pages of Japanese sumo wrestlers, a nod to Trump bankrolling the United States President’s Cup, awarded to “the number one sumo wrestler in the world.” The omissions elsewhere are breathtaking. Trump says little about his two impeachments, except for a photo of him holding up a copy of The Washington Post with the headline “Trump acquitted.” The deaths of 400,000 Americans from covid during his administration goes unmentioned, aside from noting that he enjoyed “a quick recovery” after he caught the virus. The assault on the Capitol that he inspired and his multiple attempts to subvert the election of Joe Biden are elided altogether.

Presidential scholars of the future will also be perplexed by the ordering of these photos. Weirdly, the first White House official to be featured in the book is Ronny L. Jackson, the physician who was accused of creating a hostile work environment, drinking on the job and passing out drugs like candy. Soon after comes a photo of Fox News opinion host and Trump cheerleader Sean Hannity , whose relevance to the administration needs no explanation. On page 61, there’s a happy picture of Trump walking with Saudi Arabia’s crown prince, Mohammed bin Salman , who, according to the CIA , approved the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi. The chilling logic of these selections is surely more revealing than Trump realizes.

Some of the captions are merely recycled campaign talking points. As for insights drawn from his time in office, while touring the Churchill War Rooms in London, Trump observes that Churchill was “a real HERO.” He reveals that “Israel’s capital, Jerusalem” is “a very holy place.”

What’s most striking, though, is the book’s sterility, its determined lack of intimacy. Although many photos feature his family, the majority of pictures appear to have been drawn from official ceremonies, public appearances and work duties. Only a handful of photos across more than 300 pages show Trump without a tie. He notes a celebration of his birthday by showing a full-page photo of the official dinner menu. Trump closes the book with three double-spreads in a row of large crowds of fans. The last photo is a close-up of Trump alone, looking solemnly to the side. Then there’s a Sharpie note: “America, our journey continues. Together we will take our country back. We will WIN!”

How Trump’s political style smothered the last substance left in the GOP

The publisher claims to have already sold more than 200,000 copies — not many compared to memoirs by the Obamas , but still lucrative, considering the book required little more than rifling through publicity photos and burping up MAGA catchphrases. Fittingly, “Our Journey Together” is dedicated to “the Deplorables” because, Trump writes, “You got me here!” But one closes this political brochure wondering exactly where here is.

Kourtney Kardashian Opens Up About Finally Moving in with Husband Travis Barker After 'Taking Our Time'

The Lemme founder and Blink-182 drummer tied the knot in May 2022 and welcomed their first son together, Rocky Thirteen, in November 2023

Kourtney Kardashian is sharing an update on her living situation with husband Travis Barker .

During a June 13 episode of The Kardashians , the reality star, 45, revealed she’s finally merging households with the Blink-182 drummer after previously sharing that the two felt “no pressure” to move in together.

“Travis and I have really been taking our time with figuring out where it makes sense for us to live together because the kids are all so comfortable in their spaces,” she says.

At this point in the season, the couple are preparing for the arrival of their baby boy, Rocky Thirteen , whom they welcomed in November 2023. Kardashian also has three older children — sons Reign , 9, and Mason , 14, and daughter Penelope , 11 — with ex Scott Disick .

She continues, “It feels like we kind of figured out a plan for now. We’re going to move into his house which is a block away and then redo my house at the same time so that we can all be together, living together under one roof with the baby.”

While giving her mom Kris Jenner , 68, a tour of the Halloween decorations she set up at Barker’s house , she also shows off the drum set that’s in the same room where Rocky will sleep.

“He’s going to get used to some drums,” she tells her mom.

Kardashian is also stepmom to Barker’s son Landon , 20, his daughter Alabama , 18, and stepdaughter Atiana De La Hoya , 24, from his marriage to ex-wife Shanna Moakler .

This is not the first time Kardashian has been open about her home life with her musician husband.

In October 2022, the Keeping Up with the Kardashians alum talked about their living situation during an interview with Amanda Hirsch on the Not Skinny But Not Fat just a few months after she and Barker tied the knot.

"We're in the place where we're figuring out how to blend our households and our kids, and what life looks like now," Kardashian said at the time. "For the most part we're getting those things in place. We do family dinner every Sunday night with all the kids at his house."

She continued, "We want our kids to feel really comfortable. They have both lived in their homes their whole lives for the most part, and just, they each have their rooms. We are a block away."

The pair tied the knot in May 2022 , first getting legally married in Santa Barbara followed by an extravagant wedding ceremony in Italy.

Every year the final-year students in the School of Design and Creative Arts (SDCA) put together a final collection to be shown in the Degree Show.

This is the culmination of their work throughout their course and a platform to raise their profile prior to graduating and starting their careers, as well as an opportunity to share their work with family and friends.

LU Arts commissioned six students from design and creative arts to put together a short video charting their progress as they worked towards the installation of their collection for the 2024 exhibition which was open from 14-16 June. These videos give a fascinating insight into the processes involved and the range of skills and techniques the students have used to complete their collections.

Alongside their videos, each of the students were asked to share a bit more about themselves and their practice and/or collection. Read more on the LU Arts website.

The Kardashian-Barker bunch is finally under one roof.

Kourtney Kardashian revealed in the latest episode of “The Kardashians” that she and her husband, Travis Barker, finally moved in together nearly two years after they tied the knot .

The Poosh founder, 45, made the lifestyle change while she and the Blink-182 drummer, 48, were expecting their first child together , son Rocky, last year.

Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker.

Kardashian explained on the Hulu reality show that the couple waited so long to make the big move because they did not want to disturb the kids they each already had from previous relationships.

She has three children with her ex-boyfriend Scott Disick: sons Mason, 14, and Reign, 9, and daughter Penelope, 11.

Meanwhile, Barker shares two kids with his ex-wife Shanna Moakler: son Landon, 20, and daughter Alabama, 18. He also helped raise his stepdaughter, Atiana De La Hoya, 25, since she was a child.

“Travis and I have really been taking our time figuring out where it makes sense for us to live together because the kids are all so comfortable in their spaces,” Kardashian said in Thursday’s episode.

“But it feels like we’ve kind of figured out a plan for now, so we’re going to move into his house, which is a block away [from mine].”

The “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” alum had voiced this sentiment in the past, sharing on the “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast in October 2022 that she and the “All the Small Things” rocker were hesitant to fully blend the families because the kids “lived in their homes their whole lives for the most part.”

However, she also shared that the couple made an effort to assimilate the children to their newly expanded family by having “dinner every Sunday night with all the kids” at Travis’ house.

Despite finally moving into her husband’s home, Kardashian said on “The Kardashians” that she and the “What’s My Age Again?” musician planned to “redo” her house “at the same time” so that they can all “be together, living together under one roof with the baby.”

Kardashian and Travis welcomed Rocky in November 2023. They have plenty of space for the newborn in either household, both of which are located in Calabasas, Calif.

The “Rock Show” rocker bought his 7,196-square-foot, Mediterranean-style home — which boasts five bedrooms, six baths, a bar and pool — for $2.8 million in 2017.

Meanwhile, the Lemme founder owns a chic $9 million mansion that consists of six bedrooms, nine bathrooms, a chef’s kitchen, a playroom, a spa, sauna, a nearly two-acre lot and a pool.

Prior to it being confirmed they were officially dating in 2021, Kardashian and Travis would hang out as neighbors all the time, which strengthened their bond.
