'Heartthrobs' perform during Scream Tour

The Scream Tour, presented by BET, will be in New Orleans Saturday.

The tour features multi-platinum rapper Bow Wow, Omarion, Marquest Houston, Bobby Valentino, Pretty Ricky and B5.

The musicians hit the stage at 7 p.m. at the New Orleans Arena.

This year's line-up has dominated the Billboard charts, taken up numerous slots on BET's 106 & Park: Top Live Video Show and MTV's TRL Countdown. Meanwhile, many of the artists have been featured in some of the big screen's top films, starred on one of TV's hottest new comedies and been the object of affection for millions of teenage girls.

This fourth version of the Scream Tour is called "Scream Tour IV: The Heartthrobs."

Michael Mauldin, Bow Wow's manager and president of the tour's marketing agency, produced the previous three Scream Tours in 2001, 2002 and 2003 and says that this year's tour gives elaborate performances, spectacular visual effects and lots of heart-thumping music.

This Scream Tour promises the same as the first three, he says -- millions of fans and a spectacular stage presentation.

Heading up the mammoth-sized event is Bow Wow. Since age 6, he has risen through the ranks of the entertainment world to become one of the hottest teen stars on the music and movie circuit.

Bow Wow's debut album, "Beware of Dog," went double platinum, leading the way for him to open for Madonna at the Grammy Award in 2001 and position him as a viable force in the music industry.

His follow up album, "Doggy Bag," also went platinum, helping him move from the studio to the big screen and star in one of the Top 50 grossing films of 2002, "Like Mine."

In 2003 he starred in the smash comedy "Johnson Family Vacation," opposite Cedric The Entertainer and released his third album, "Unleashed."

Second on the roster is Omarion. Just like Bow Wow, he has been a part of the Scream Tour series since its inception.

Omarion was the lead singer of the multi-platinum selling quartet, B2K. He led the way vocally on hit songs that included "Bump, Bump, Bump," opposite P. Diddy, "Girlfriend," and B2K's first No. 1 single, "Uh Huh."

With two platinum albums, a Christmas collection and a Greatest Hits compilation under his belt, Omarion's resume' has since expanded to include roles on television and film, as well as, the title of author.

At the end of 2004, he debuted his solo offering, titled "O" and released the single by the same title and was dubbed the "Prince of R&B" by adoring fans.

Prior to the success of his solo album, Omarion also starred in the hit movie, "You Got Served," which debuted at No. 1 its first weekend at the box office. He also released the smash soundtrack to the movie.

Since then, he has starred in the animated hit movie, "Fat Albert" and been featured in numerous television sitcoms.

Third up for the tour is Marques Houston. He is a singer, songwriter, producer, actor and businessman. Marques has been performing on the small stage and the big screen since he was 5. Most people met him for the first time as the lovable, yet nuisance-like neighbor, "Roger," on the long-running hit comedy, "Sister Sister."

Houston, known to the masses as "Batman," started creating his overwhelming fan base as one-third of the hit teen group, Immature, which later became known as IMX.

Most recently, Houston starred alongside Omarion in the hit movies "You Got Served" and "Fat Albert."

He also stars in the new UPN sitcom, "Cuts," opposite actress Shannon Elizabeth.

His new album, entitled "Naked" is in stores now and features the hit song "All Because of You."

Fourth on the tour is R&B newcomer, Bobby Valentino.

Valentino, a native of Jackson, Miss., is the only R&B singer to emerge from multi-platinum-selling rapper Ludacris' Disturbing Tha Peace clique.

Valentino, whose debut album entitled, "Disturbin the Peace presents Bobby Valentino," which featured the top-charting hit single, "Slow Down," encountered major success and debuted as No. 3 on the Billboard Charts.

Also featured on the tour are two of R&B's most popular groups of singing brothers, Pretty Ricky and B5. B5 has become the world's answer to the multi-platinum selling boy band, B2K.

Pretty Ricky may be new to mainstream success, but they aren't new to the industry. They have been trying to make a mark for themselves since 1997. This band of siblings, who hail from Miami, have been blazing the charts with the release of their new album, "Bluestars," which features the hit single, "Grind with Me."

The Scream Tour IV tour will hit more than 30 cities across the country. For information, log onto www.screamtour.com.

Tickets are $24-$38.50.
