Shakira Joins Bizarrap at Coachella, Announces World Tour

Shakira just joined Bizarrap , the Argentine DJ and hitmaker instrumental in her massive comeback, for her first-ever Coachella appearance at the Sahara Tent.

After introducing herself with a she-wolf howl, the Colombian pop legend took the mic to perform two collaborations with Bizarrap: “Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53,” the scathing 2023 highlight of her new album, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran , as well as their club-ready banger, “La Fuerte.” A swarm of screaming fans scrambled to the front, waving Argentine and Mexican flags to welcome the diva to the desert.

Shakira also broke some big news onstage: she’s embarking on a world tour to promote Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran . “Starting here this November, in this city,” she added, though it was unclear whether she meant the City of Indio.

Shakira’s Coachella debut comes months after a Hits Daily Double report alleged that her team pushed for her to headline the festival, but that “Coachella ultimately passed.” In March, Shakira drew a crowd of more than 40,000 in Times Square as she performed songs from Las Mujeres No Lloran .

In a  Rolling Stone review , Suzy Exposito wrote about the album: “Shakira finally gets to turn the page on these tempestuous past two years, and reintroduce herself — not as Shakira the soccer mom, nor Shakira the heartbroken — but Shakira fucking Mebarak, international pop icon and undefeated champ.”

The ‘Whatever, Whenever’ singer came out during Bizarrap’s set at the Sahara stage on April 12. The Argentine DJ brought out Shakira as a guest to perform their collab tracks ‘La Fuerte’ and ‘Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol 53’ at the music festival.

The ‘She Wolf’ singer took the time to announce that she will be going on a world tour later this year beginning with a show in California.

“Thank you for inviting me, Bizarrap. To be honest, it is amazing to be here with this crowd and with you, who’s my friend and colleague. Today, I cannot contain myself, I have to tell you something,” began Shakira.

She continued: “Biza, I am going on tour. I am finally going on tour! Starting here this November, this year in this city. I can’t wait. I couldn’t ask for more. Thank you.” At the time of writing, no dates or other information on the tour have been announced.

Shakira recently released her 12th studio LP ‘ La Mujeres Ya No Lloran ‘ last month. In a four-star review of the album , NME shared: “With a career that spans four decades, she continues to push the envelope for Latin pop music and make the genre a global event. All her previous records had at least one song in English, but this time, she opts to sing fully in Spanish. With this vulnerable yet versatile collection, Shakira shows there are no limits to the art of her catharsis through song.”

More on Shakira’s 12th studio album

This latest release marks Shakira’s twelfth studio album: “Las mujeres ya no lloran,” five words that reference a verse from one of the songs she has released during this period of anticipation and which has brought her much joy - the collaboration on the ‘Music Sessions Vol. 53′ with Argentine producer Bizarrap, the same one that was played at Coachella.

This and other hits from recent months are included in the album, the most anticipated by the Barranquilla native, who has also added more new songs. This is Shakira’s first album in seven years and is a dazzling testament to her resilience and strength, as well as the power of music to transform even the most challenging experiences into memorable moments (recall the emotional process she went through after her breakup with former footballer Gerard Piqué, with whom she had two children, Milan and Sasha, leaving Barcelona and moving to Miami).

Songs on 'Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran':

  • Puntería x Cardi B
  • La Fuerte x Bizarrap
  • Tiempo Sin Verte
  • Cohete x Rauw Alejandro
  • (Entre Paréntesis) x Grupo Frontera
  • Cómo Dónde y Cuándo
  • Última
  • Te Felicito x Rauw Alejandro
  • Monotonía x Ozuna
  • Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53
  • TQG x Karol G
  • Acróstico x Milan + Sasha
  • Copa Vacía x Manuel Turizo
  • El Jefe x Fuerza Regida
  • Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53 (Remix Tiësto)
  • Puntería (Versión Vinilo)

Shakira and collaborators

The album features sixteen tracks, including eight new songs, a new remix, and seven previous hits, including ‘TQG’ with Karol G, ‘Monotonía’ with Ozuna, ‘Te Felicito’ with Rauw Alejandro, ‘Copa Vacía’ with Manuel Turizo, and more. The seven previously released tracks already have a combined total of 3.7 billion streams on Spotify.

Alongside the album release, Shakira dropped the music video for her new pop song ‘Puntería’ featuring Cardi B. Directed by Hannah Lux Davis, the video also features Emily in Paris star Lucien Laviscount in a special role, and there are even rumors circulating that there may be more than just a professional collaboration between them.

The rebuilding of Shakira

This special album, r eleased at such a significant moment for the Colombian artist, has been therapeutic for her, as she recently acknowledged in an exclusive interview with the UK newspaper Times: “[It is] the transformation of pain into creativity, frustration into productivity, anger into passion, vulnerability into resilience.”

Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran El nuevo álbum / The new album OUT NOW! https://t.co/dQLlmrJOgq pic.twitter.com/f6Wz2Mmde9 — Shakira (@shakira) March 22, 2024

“There were so many pieces of my life that crumbled before my eyes, and I had to somehow rebuild myself, picking up the bones from the ground and putting them all back together. And music was the adhesive that held it all together,” she explained.

New Shakira album in four versions

Shakira’s new album is available in four distinct art editions, each accompanied by an exclusive colored vinyl variant. The Sapphire edition is exclusively offered on Amazon, while the Ruby edition is available only at Target. Fans can find the Emerald edition exclusively on Shakira’s official online store, and the Diamond edition will be available in all major retailers.

Shakira holds the title of the best-selling female Latin artist in history, with a decades-long career of innovation and success. However, she has continued to solidify her legendary status over the past year due to the overwhelming success of her recent releases. Her success will undoubtedly continue with the release of her new album, as her resilience, vulnerability, confidence, and passion highlight both her personal challenges and triumphs.

Shakira has announced an upcoming world tour during a surprise performance at Coachella 2024.

The Colombian singer shocked the crowd as she rose from a platform during the set of Argentinian DJ Bizarrap to perform their new track, La Fuerte.

During the performance, the extravagant backdrop on the Sahara stage switched to say "Shakira, Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour".

The Hips Don't Lie star said: "Finally, we are going on tour. Starting here, this November in this city, can't wait. Couldn't ask for more."

Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, released last month, is the 12th studio album from the singer and first in seven years.

It tracks the singer's transition from heartbreak to resurgence, and was inspired in part by her break-up with former Barcelona footballer Gerard Pique.

The 47-year-old had teased the announcement in an Instagram post a day before her appearance. Translated from Spanish it said: "The wolf is coming."

Shakira Reveals Global Tour Plans – Here’s What We Know

shakira world tour 2023 chile

Shakira’s going on tour next year! In a recent interview with Billboard , the Colombian icon revealed plans for an upcoming world tour, describing it as “the tour of a lifetime.”

View this post on Instagram A post shared by billboard (@billboard)

Besides releasing a new album , rumors of Shakira’s upcoming 2024 tour have been circulating since Billboard briefly reported it earlier this month . Now, the singer confirmed that it’s officially in the works during Billboard’s latest cover story published today (Sept. 21). Though specific details are yet to be revealed, the media outlet shared that the global tour is aiming to include arena and stadium shows in almost 12 countries across Latin America, North America, the United Kingdom, Europe, and the Middle East.

“I think this will be the tour of my life. I’m very excited. Just think, I had my foot on the brakes. Now I’m pressing on the accelerator — hard,” Shakira said about her upcoming touring plans. Moreover, she also revealed that she was working during Beyoncé’s recent tour by “taking notes.”

Though we don’t know the exact logistics of the tour, Shakira wants it to be affordable. Besides balancing the songs that people want to hear, she also recognizes that a higher production equals a higher ticket price, which she doesn’t want. “I want the tickets to be affordable. But to me, the most important thing is the repertoire. That’s why I think [my next tour] will be the tour of a lifetime, because I have so many songs,” she said.

Based on her recent MTV Video Vanguard Award performance and her overall musical trajectory, we know that Shakira has a rich discography of hits. Will she perform all the hits from all of her albums? The upcoming tour will be the first since 2017’s El Dorado global tour.

Shakira Bizarrap 2023 Latin Grammys

Shakira Announced Her ‘Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour’ While Crashing Bizarrap’s Coachella 2024 Set

Megan Armstrong

Shakira released Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran in late March, but she hasn’t taken her foot off the gas. She put on a pop-up concert at TSX in New York City’s Times Square and visited Hot Ones . She took it up another notch on Friday night, April 12.

The crowd for Bizarrap’s Coachella 2024 set heard the she-wolf howl and knew. Shakira appeared on stage with “LA LOBA SE VIENE,” which translates to “the wolf is coming,” on the screen behind her. Shortly thereafter, Shakira used the same screen to announce her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour .

Specific dates are presumably forthcoming, but Shakira confirmed on stage, “Finally, we are going on tour starting here. Starting here this November. This year in this city! I can’t wait.”

Of course, Shakira couldn’t crash Bizarrap’s set without performing “ BZRP Music Sessions, Vol. 53 ,” their January 2023 Billboard Hot 100 top-10 hit .

Shakira told Apple Music’s Zane Lowe that she’s “probably” done writing songs about Gerard Piqué , her ex-partner of 11ish years with whom she shares two children, after her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran track “ Última .” That does not mean Shakira is done with performing existing songs directed toward Piqué, a la “ BZRP Music Sessions, Vol. 53 ,” especially now that she’s going on tour.

She’s still got it! I’ve been a massive Shakira fan for as long as I can remember, and I was hesitant to see her this year as I was worried about her performance not living up to my expectations and disappointing me.

Wow was I wrong. The energy was fierce and she audience were enthralled for every moment. The combination of Shakira enthusiastically throwing herself around the stage alongside the awesome pyrotechnics brought together the performance and atmosphere flawlessly.

Her sexuality is upfront yet inoffensive and a positive addition to her almost acrobatic dance routines.

She really aims to please her audience, interacting with them running through the aisles and offering her hand to fans. My absolute favourite was her performance of the classic, ‘Whenever Wherever’ which made the crowd go crazy. She appeared to relish every moment of her performance, which in turn encouraged us to lose ourselves in her performance. I really would recommend checking her out live if you have the chance, even if the European Pop isn’t up your street, she sure gives a great performance!

Shakira was just amazing!!! I’ve been amazed by her singing her dancing and her charm that I was able to see live. She is an incredible singer with mind blowing voice. I adore her for her persistence and that she decided to make the tour even when she was having health problems earlier. Live she’s even better than I imagined her to be.

Thank u for being there with us.

We love you so much Shakira!!! And we hope we will see u in Luxembourg again!

Unfortunately the concert was postponed. More unfortunate was that the cancellation was not very well informed, so I went to the concert place for nothing. I'm expecting to get my money back or possibility to use my ticket on other concert.

Shakira Announces Dates For First World Tour In 6 Years

Carolina Moreno

Reporter, HuffPost

Shakira is finally getting back on the road.

The Colombian superstar announced her first world tour in more than six years on Tuesday morning. The El Dorado World Tour has 33 confirmed dates across Europe and North America, with the tour starting on Nov. 8 in Cologne, Germany.

The 40-year-old singer is expected to announce Latin American dates later on. Fans can get their hands on tickets for the tour on June 30.

A post shared by Shakira (@shakira) on Jun 27, 2017 at 5:05am PDT

The last time Shakira embarked on a world tour was in 2010-2011 for the Sun Comes Out Tour, which promoted her “She Wolf” and “Sale El Sol” albums.

The upcoming El Dorado world tour will promote her newest Spanish-language album of the same name, released on May 26 , and will likely also feature music from her 2014 album “Shakira.”

“Thank you all so much for listening to my music in so many places around the world,” the singer said in a statement, according to Entertainment Weekly. “I can’t wait to be onstage again singing along with all of you, all of your favorites and mine. It’s going to be fun! The road to ‘El Dorado’ starts now!”

Just days before dropping her new album, Shakira surprised New Yorkers with a performance of her hit “Chantaje” in Washington Square Park. She told the crowd she and her musicians were “rehearsing for our tour, so we decided this is the perfect environment.”

Let’s hope the rehearsing paid off! Check out where the El Dorado world tour is stopping so far below:

With a New Album Underway, Shakira Confirms 2024 Arena and Stadium Tour

Shakira’s 2024 global tour will include arena and stadium shows in nearly two dozen countries.

Shakira Live Photo

Concert lovers have seen their fair share of iconic performers in 2023, and currently, Shakira’s star is shining exceptionally bright. With seven Latin Grammy nominations, an unforgettable MTV Vanguard performance, and a recent hit release, Shakira is again in the spotlight, leaving fans on the edge of their seats anticipating Shakira’s 2024 tour.

In her latest single, “El Jefe” with Fuerza Regida , Shakira delivers again! The song unapologetically sheds light on the everyday struggles of many Mexicans and Latine individuals, and its music video vividly brings to life the stark realities of the migrant struggle.

But Shakira’s recent accolades don’t end with “El Jefe.” The Latin Grammy nominations she’s garnered for 2023 are nothing short of impressive. Her songs “Acróstico” and “Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53″ are nominated for Song of the Year and Record of the Year. Shakira’s status as a musical force to be reckoned with makes her one of the most nominated artists of the year!

Shakira Reveals 2024 World Tour Plans !

Given all the acknowledgment and acclaim Shakira has received lately, the possibility of a tour is on the horizon. Fans who have longed to witness her compelling and irresistible performances in person may find their wishes coming true in the near future.

In a recent interview with Billboard magazine , it was revealed that Shakira’s 2024 tour “will include arena and stadium shows in nearly two dozen countries across Latin America, North America, the United Kingdom, Europe and the Middle East.”

Shakira also expressed how she wants her tickets to be “affordable” but it also depends on what fans want in terms of production. “The more production you have, the higher the ticket price,” shared Shakira with Billboard magazine.

“I want the tickets to be affordable. But to me, the most important thing is the repertoire. That’s why I think [my next tour] will be the tour of a lifetime, because I have so many songs.”

While the full run of tour dates for Shakira’s 2024 tour have not been disclosed, you can expect the shows to focus more on her catalog of songs which are full of hits, as opposed to over-the-top production.

Keep your eyes peeled on Shakira’s tour page , as the official tour announcement will come sooner rather than later. Expect the new album to drop first, though!
