The Ultimate Xcaret Arte 7-Day Itinerary

Published: Nov 16, 2023 · Modified: Mar 12, 2024 by Travel & Chai · This post may contain affiliate links · Leave a Comment

A collection of travel itineraries and suggestions to use while visiting Xcaret Arte in the Riviera Maya, Mexico. Each itinerary is tailored to a different travel style to make sure you find the right option for you.

Whether it's your first time visiting Hotel Xcaret Arte or you're a seasoned guest of the resort, there is always a lot to do! This 7-day itinerary for Xcaret Arte will provide you with a guide of how to spend your time.

Everyone is different. My perfect 7-day Xcaret Arte itinerary is likely not the same as yours. For that reason, we've included several options so that you can see the best way to spend your time while staying at Hotel Xcaret Arte.

Are you looking for a very relaxed resort vacation? We've got you covered. In the mood for action and adventure? We've got you covered too. It's your first time visiting Xcaret and you're not sure what you want? We've got a balanced itinerary and our personal suggestions for first time visitors.

Assumptions

Balanced itinerary, relaxed itinerary, adventurous itinerary, which itinerary should you follow.

Before giving you the itineraries, there are a few assumptions I'm making. Firstly, I'm assuming you're arriving in the afternoon of Day One (the hotel's check-in time is 3pm) and will have the rest of the day available to use. And that you're leaving on Day Seven (i.e. following Xcaret Arte's standard 12pm check out time).

Next, this itinerary assumes you want to make the most of Hotel Xcaret Arte's offerings, and therefore doesn't include activities and excursions that aren't included in the resort's all-fun inclusive package.

And lastly, this one week itinerary assumes that you're blessed with the health to be able to partake in the suggested activities. Please note : While there are some accommodations available, the resort does not provide accommodations available for all activities/excursions.

For example, those with significant mobility issues may want to steer clear of the Xenotes tour as it involves a lot of steps, swimming, and some slippery staircases.

Pro Tip: Make sure to check our Guide to Visiting Xcaret Arte to make the most of your trip.

The balanced itinerary is perfect for first-time visitors to Xcaret Arte that want to enjoy the activities and excursions, but are also looking to relax a bit and enjoy the amenities offered within the resort.

Your first day is all about keeping it relaxed and settling in.

Your first proper day at Xcaret Arte allows you to explore the resort a little more, before heading to your first exciting activity in the evening.

Day Three is dedicated entirely to Xcaret Park. It's a large place so you'll need at least 5-6 hours there.

Another long day full of culture and walking, followed by having fun at Xcaret's water park.

Day four involved a bit of exertion, and day six is the most involved day of the trip so we're taking it a little easier today.

Saving the best excursion for last, the Xenotes tour is a must-do activity when staying at Xcaret Arte.

It's check-out day, so I don't recommend going to far from the hotel. Last thing you want is to get stuck somewhere on the road and unable to make it to the airport in time for your flight.

This relaxed itinerary is perfect for people that really want to take time to relax during their vacation, and not feel pressed for time in any way. It's also a good option for returning visitors to Xcaret Arte, in which case you may have already experienced a lot of the activities.

Reem enjoying a relaxed itinerary day in Xcaret Arte's main pool.

You're on holiday! You're here to relax, no need to try to get anything done today. You can pass by El Deseo at night if you're feeling up to it, it's an easy way to get to know some of the other guests that you will no doubt bump into from time to time.

Starting the day slow, and finishing with a show celebrating the history of Mexico.

We're taking a little walk around Xenses today. It's the shortest and easiest of Xcaret's attractions (you can be done in 3 hours) to add a little variation into your day.

Today is the most exciting and action-packed day of your trip! I know, I know, this is the Relaxed itinerary for Xcaret Arte, but a little adventure will break up the trip so that every day doesn't feel same-y.

Today is all about recovery. You had a busy day at the cenotes, and you don't want to feel rushed to do another activity so quickly!

We're spending a little time (really as little or as much time as you want) at Xcaret Park. It's a big place, but you may opt to just see the attractions that interest you most.

Check out time is noon. Have a slow morning, get a good breakfast in you.

This adventure-focussed itinerary is all about cramming in the most action and activities possible. You feel like you can relax by the pool at home, you're here to make the most of all the beautiful and unique experiences on offer.

Riz swinging down a zipline as part of the Xenotes tour of Xcaret Arte.

You're ready to go as soon as you check-in. We're going to use the first day to explore your surroundings, enjoy your cultural show, and then get an early night in preparation for day two.

Let's get those excursions started in style. We're doing the all-day Tulum ruins excursion. It's recommended to pick the Deluxe version of this so that you get to enjoy some better food and an additional trip to a cenote, before heading to the Xel-Ha waterpark.

Get ready for some ziplines. We're starting the day off with the very fun Xplor theme park, and ending it with a few drinks at Xcaret Arte's oh-so-secret speakeasy (don't stay out too late though).

This is possibly going to be the longest day of your trip. We're starting off with a cultural excursion to see Chichen Itza, but that's not all. You're probably still thinking about the thrills from Xplor the day before, so we're visiting again...but at night!

Day four was a long one so we're taking it a little in terms of exertion. But don't worry, we've got something planned for you adrenaline junkies and party lovers!

It's your last full day. Make the most of it by visiting four different cenotes. Swimming, ziplines, assisted rappelling, and more awaits!

It's your last day, but we're not wasting it. We're going to squeeze one last little activity in!

We've provided three different suggested itineraries for visiting Hotel Xcaret Arte - each one has a different focus, and different type of traveller in mind. You should look at the one that most closely resembles your preferred travel style. Feel free to adapt it as necessary!

If you're not sure where to begin, we'd recommend starting the Balanced Itinerary as its designed to help you make the most of your stay at the resort while also enjoying some of the activities and excursions available.

It's a big world, but we're never too far away! SIGN UP for the Travel & Chai newsletter, and follow Travel & Chai on Instagram and Pinterest to keep in touch.

Megan shared the news of her new album with a QR code using which fans could pre-save the album. Additionally, the Body singer also displayed the yet-to-be-released album's cover art, wherein she is hanging by a butterfly cocoon with the letter M behind her.

Fans of Megan Thee Stallion were quick to congratulate her on the new album however, her fans were divided over the album's cover art wherein some praised it and some expressed their discontent with the same.

One of the X users described the cover using the word "Meganmorphosis, " an amalgamation of the singer's name and metamorphosis.

Fans eagerly praised the cover, taking to social media to express their compliments.

"THE COVER ART IS EATINGGGG," wrote a fan .
"AND THE M IS FOR METAMORPHOSIS 🥹❤️‍🔥🦋" one of the fans complimented .
"OMG THE COVER ART WE WILL BE LISTENING," another fan tweeted .
"I see chaos and beauty… this era so far has been visually interesting and off kilter. You haven't missed yet," another X user tweeted .

However, not all fans were impressed by the cover art. Some took to X to express their disappointment.

"All the single covers were AMAZING but the album cover is this? Girl no… your instagram pics serves way more than this tho," an X user tweeted .
"The worst graphic design I've ever seen mother" another user wrote .

The Wanna Be singer's Atlanta concert dates were postponed on May 31 and June 1 due to water pipes and outages.

"I am becoming a new person physically and mentally"- Megan Thee Stallion talks about new album

On April 10, 2024, Megan Thee Stallion posed for Women's Health and talked about her upcoming third studio album. Talking about her album Megan and shedding her old skin metaphorically, the singer mentioned :

Megan Thee Stallion said that her yet-to-be-released album consists of songs that are about the positive times she's starting to have and that the album comprises "a little bit of everything".

The Most Anticipated Concert Tours Of Summer 2024

Uproxx authors

Although summertime is often associated with festival season, there are also plenty of artists doing their own tours. Those artists may have some festival appearances scattered throughout their itineraries, but the sunny weather is a solid incentive to open up the outdoor amphitheaters and arenas for some memorable live music, fest or not. From Missy Elliott’s first-ever headlining tour to the indie-rock fan’s dream combo of The National and The War On Drugs , check out the most anticipated summer concert tours of 2024.

View this post on Instagram A post shared by @21savage

The London-born, Atlanta-bred rapper 21 Savage has been touring North America since May 1, but he has several arena and amphitheater dates left on the American Dream Tour. That includes stops in Southern cities like Tampa, West Palm Beach, Birmingham, and, of course, Atlanta. He’ll be joined by J.I.D, Nardo Wick, and 21 Lil Harold.

Adrianne Lenker

pic.twitter.com/B5RSIpvieg — adrianne lenker (@AdrianneLenker) March 28, 2024

Over the years, Big Thief has become one of the most known names in contemporary indie rock. Frontwoman Adrianne Lenker , as her tour agenda showcases, has become wildly popular in her own right. Following her recent solo album, the sparse, somber Bright Future , Lenker brings opening act Twain along for a slew of dates, many of which are sold out, starting June 9 in Austin.

Bryson Tiller

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Bryson (@brysontiller)

Louisville vocalist and songwriter Bryson Tiller recently released his self-titled album back in April. He is currently touring behind it, and it continues through nearly all of June. Along the way, Tiller will make stops in cities like Nashville, Minneapolis, New York, Atlanta, and more.

Since her 2022 debut album, the dark, sprawling Preacher’s Daughter , Ethel Cain has steadily ascended through the ranks to become a pillar of indie-pop. Cain has hinted at new music here and there, but for now, she’s going to keep touring. That resumes with a North American tour this month following a slate of European dates. Her new schedule includes appearances at Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, Summerfest, Hinterland, and others.

Future / Metro Boomin

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Young Metro 3 Times 💔 (@metroboomin)

We Still Don’t Trust You unwittingly became the catalyst for the most fruitful hip-hop beef in recent memory when Kendrick Lamar dissed Drake and J. Cole during his guest verse on “Like That.” Future and Metro Boomin themselves have mostly stayed out of it — relatively, at least. After all, they do have a massive tour to focus on. The duo kicks things off in Kansas City on July 30 and wraps it up in Vancouver on Sept. 9.

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Green Day (@greenday)

The Saviors Tour will travel across the globe, in which Bay Area pop-punk trio Green Day will perform their most iconic albums, 1994’s Dookie and 2004’s American Idiot , in full to respectively celebrate their 30th and 20th anniversaries. For select dates, they’ll bring along Smashing Pumpkins, Rancid, and The Linda Lindas.

View this post on Instagram A post shared by ❕WUNNA❕🥷🏻✝️ (@gunna)

Gunna is a fixture of Atlanta rap, and he’s taking that idiosyncratic ATL style all over North America plus a small handful of European dates for The Bittersweet Tour. With opener Flo Milli, the YSL affiliate will visit cities like Miami, Orlando, and, obviously, Atlanta.

Janet Jackson

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Janet Jackson (@janetjackson)

The queen of new jack swing, Janet Jackson, will embark on a large North American tour starting June 4 in Palm Desert, California. For last year’s tour, she brought Ludacris along as her opener, and this year, she’s bringing St. Louis rapper Nelly. The Together Again Tour will make stops in Anaheim, Salt Lake City, Denver, St. Paul, and plenty more cities.

From the middle of June to the end of August, Los Angeles R&B mainstay Jhené Aiko will tour North American arenas with openers Coi Leray, Tink, and Umi in tow. It kicks off at Detroit’s Little Caesars Arena on June 19 and wraps up at Columbus’ Nationwide Arena on Aug. 22.

Justin Timberlake

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Justin Timberlake (@justintimberlake)

Earlier this year, Justin Timberlake released Everything I Thought It Was , his first studio album since 2018’s folk-tinged Man Of The Woods . To promote the new record, he’s currently on The Forget Tomorrow World Tour. It includes stops in cities like Tulsa, Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, and many more.

The Houston instrumental trio Khruangbin recently released A LA SALA , an album that leans into the group’s psych-pop proclivities. They’re touring behind it all summer in both Europe and North America, and joining them will be openers Arooj Aftab, Men I Trust, John Carroll Kirby, and Peter Cat Recording Co.

Lizzy McAlpine

View this post on Instagram A post shared by lizzy (@lizzymcalpine)

Back in April, singer and songwriter Lizzy McAlpine released her third studio album, Older . She’s celebrating its release with a summer tour that takes her all the way from Washington, D.C. to Sydney, Australia and back to the States. McAlpine has a busy summer ahead of her, but that gives you plenty of chances to catch her show.

Megan Thee Stallion

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Megan Thee Stallion (@theestallion)

Houston rapper Megan Thee Stallion is bringing the Hot Girl Summer Tour all over the globe. It’s currently underway, having stopped at cities like Minneapolis and Baltimore and will soon head to places like New Orleans, Dallas, and Meg’s very own Houston. Joining her will be Memphis rapper GloRilla.

It’s hard to believe that someone as influential as Missy Elliott has never done her own headlining tour before. That is, until now. Alongside friends like Busta Rhymes, Timbaland, and Ciara, The Out Of This World Tour will start on July 4 in Vancouver and conclude on Aug. 22 in Rosemont, Illinois, right near the Chicago O’Hare International Airport. This is certainly a show you won’t want to miss.

Having wrapped up a slew of European dates, Mitski is headed back to the States in August to tour behind last year’s excellent The Land Is Inhospitable And So Are We . She’ll usually be doing multiple nights at sizable theaters, such as three nights at Atlanta’s Fox Theatre and two nights at Detroit’s Masonic Temple Theatre. Joining her will be openers Arlo Parks, Lamp, Laufey, Alvvays, Wyatt Flores, Sharon Van Etten, and Sierra Ferrell, depending on the date.

View this post on Instagram A post shared by ODESZA (@odesza)

Odesza is a go-to festival headliner for many booking agents, and it’s easy to understand why. Their seismic strain of EDM is perfect for big fields and arenas alike. They embark on The Last Goodbye Finale Tour with openers Big Boi, Bob Moses, and more in tow, performing multiple nights at Los Angeles’ BMO Stadium, Berkeley’s Greek Theatre, and NYC’s Madison Square Garden along the way, as well as a hometown-adjacent run at The Gorge.

Olivia Rodrigo

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Olivia Rodrigo (@oliviarodrigo)

If you managed to secure tickets to Olivia Rodrigo’s highly anticipated arena tour for her sophomore album, Guts , then count yourself lucky, as it’s completely sold out. She’ll spend June touring Europe before she returns to the U.S. with drum and bass/indie pop enthusiast PinkPantheress in July.

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Pearl Jam (@pearljam)

Eddie Vedder and co. have just released Dark Matter , their first album since 2020’s ill-timed Gigaton . To support the new record, they’ll perform all across the globe; the tour has currently taken them to Europe, and they’ll head back to the U.S. toward the end of August with opener Glen Hansard.

Mexican star Peso Pluma is headed to the United States later this month for a string of arena shows and festival appearances. The Exodo Tour will take him to Governors Ball in New York as well as his own shows in cities like Tampa, Oklahoma City, Houston, Kansas City, Omaha, and plenty more.

St. Vincent

View this post on Instagram A post shared by St. Vincent (@st_vincent)

In late April, Annie Clark released her latest album as St. Vincent, the entirely self-produced All Born Screaming . After a brief stint in Europe with Heartworms, she’ll tour all over the States with openers Yves Tumor, Dorian Electra, Spoon, and Eartheater for select dates.

Canadian pop artist Tate McRae will take the world tour for her most recent album, Think Later , to North America starting this July. She’ll be performing in various amphitheaters with opening act Presley Regier. Her latest string of dates kicks off in her hometown of Calgary on July 5 and wraps up in New York on Aug. 22.

Taylor Swift

Cultural behemoth Taylor Swift is ready to stimulate some more local economies. The Eras Tour continues through Europe with openers Paramore all the way through late August. Fresh off the release of the messy, sprawling The Tortured Poets Department , 2024’s iteration of the tour now merges the Folklore and Evermore eras into one. But it also features a new set solely dedicated to TTPD .

They’re both massive, beloved indie rock groups that always put on a spectacular show. Ahead of that, The National have a ton of dates this summer as they weave across Europe.

Last year, The Rolling Stones put out their first studio album in seven years, Hackney Diamonds . Although it won’t be the same without core drummer Charlie Watts, Mick Jagger and the gang still put on an excellent show. They’ll tour all over stadiums, including stops in Chicago, Atlanta, Denver, and more.

Tours, workshops, yoga and more: New Palmer Museum of Art offers full slate of summer events

The Palmer Museum of Art’s revamped location near Penn State’s arboretum is putting a fresh spin on how art can help visitors connect with the world around them — and it’s inviting residents across Centre County to join in on the fun all summer long.

The 73,000-square-foot space will open its doors to the public Saturday, giving guests a first look at all the new location has to offer. In addition to three special exhibitions and 15 permanent galleries, the museum will also debut several new education spaces, including an exploration lounge, studio classroom, terrace and object study room.

Opening festivities at the museum are from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and noon-5 p.m. Sunday, with guided tours departing from the lobby every 30 minutes. Guided tours of the Arboretum at Penn State are scheduled for noon and 2 p.m. on Saturday. Other activities include stations to make paper sunflowers, famous artist impersonators and more.

After opening weekend, the summer months are filled with scheduled gallery talks, creative workshops, camps and classes targeted at all ages and skill levels. From sneaker painting to yoga to a six-week outdoor painting course, there’s something lined up for everyone.

“We think of ourselves as a place where discussion happens, where learning happens, where curiosity happens,” Assistant Director Joyce Robinson said Wednesday during a media tour. “We want everyone to feel welcome and to see themselves here.”

To make this task easier, the Palmer Museum of Art’s reopening will come with a new, more accessible set of hours. For the first time in its 50-year history, the museum will be open until 8 p.m. every Thursday, opening the door to more visitors and the opportunity to host evening events. The museum will also enforce quiet hours for part of the day on June 12, June 28, July 7, July 19 and Aug. 21 for guests who prefer a calmer experience.

Downtown State College will also get in on the celebration, with free bus shuttles from noon-5 p.m. Saturday, stopping at 204 W. Beaver Ave. and the new museum. The Palmer Museum Opening Downtown Celebration also includes live music at the Martin Luther King Jr. Plaza stage from 5-7:30 p.m., along with other activities at the plaza.

To keep busy through August, here are some ways to spend the summer taking advantage of the Palmer Museum of Art’s upcoming programs:

Take a tour

If you’re looking for in-depth exploration of the Palmer Museum of Art’s 20 galleries and 11,000 pieces of art, who better to walk you through it then one of the museum’s trained tour guides? This opportunity not only allows visitors to experience the museum’s diverse permanent collections — a group that includes paintings, sculptures, glass, ceramics and other mediums — but also introduces them to two new special exhibitions. “Made in PA” and “Made in PA on Paper” highlight the work of Pennsylvania natives and long-time residents, including some recent Penn State grads.

The museum will host 17 “Meet the Museum” drop-in tours throughout the summer, in addition to a special “Pride at the Palmer” tour June 6 focused on work by LGBTQ+ artists. Groups can also schedule private guided tours beginning in July.

Yoga sessions

An unexpected perk of the Palmer Museum of Art’s new spacious, brightly lit galleries is the ability to take a yoga class while simultaneously admiring priceless pieces of art. For a meditative experience like no other, drop in for a yoga class Thursdays at 5:30 p.m. Classes are limited to 20 participants, so register in advance.

Workshops, classes and other hands-on events

Palmer Museum of Art’s new slate of summer activities also includes a long list of interactive, educational programs that allow you to create artwork you can take home. Ranging in price, medium and length, these events equip even beginners with the tools to become an artist for the afternoon.

The majority of the summer’s events are both free and don’t require registration — you just have to show up. The schedule kicks off June 20 with a weaving workshop inspired by the museum’s new Arts of Africa Gallery, but later classes will focus on different mediums and displays. A family-friendly workshop June 29 and outdoor session July 31 both dive into printmaking; two “Art After Hours” events on July 25 and Aug. 29 invite visitors to make collages and campaign buttons; and studio sessions on June 27 and Aug. 22 encourage guests to use art as self-care.

For more ambitious artists, the museum will also host more in-depth workshops targeted at adults. A sneaker painting class July 13, for instance, equips guests to transform a white pair of canvas sneakers into unique pieces of art; individuals must register in advance, and participation costs $35. Adults can also register for a six-week, $350 course focused on plein air, or outdoor, painting.

Individuals can read more about specific workshops and events on Palmer Museum of Art website.

Gallery talks

For those interested in engaging further with the permanent collections or special exhibitions, the museum will host five gallery talks throughout the summer. Speakers range from museum director Erin Coe to professional curators and Penn State faculty.

Those interested can read more about specific talks on the Palmer Museum of Art website.

Summer camp

The Palmer Museum of art will host two weeklong day camps for children aged 9-12: one focused on printmaking and another on the relationship between art and nature . Because of the museum’s new location at the arboretum, campers have the perfect opportunity to create art while also learning about the world around them. Both sessions cost $325.

The Foo Fighters perform a concert in Washington, D.C.

After months of iffy weather across much of the globe, summer is nearly here in North America. And, lucky for its residents, many standout artists are looking to take advantage of the sunshine with some live tours.

Alanis Morissette

One of Canada's most well-known musical exports is hitting the road again. Alanis Morissette will navigate venues across the United States during her "Triple Moon Tour," which will feature 33 dates running from June to August. Morissette will not go it alone, though, as she will be accompanied on stage by Joan Jett and the Blackhearts alongside singer Morgan Wade. Morissette released her tenth LP in 2022, but the "Triple Moon Tour" will mostly be in tribute to the 25th anniversary of her fourth studio album, "Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie," which was released to critical acclaim in 1998.

While "Family Guy" may have once described him as "just some guy with a hat," singer Jason Mraz is the recipient of two Grammy Awards and remains one of the most popular guitarists and singers of the last decade. Beginning in June, Mraz will venture on his "Mystical Magical Rhythmical Radical Ride Summer 2024," with shows in more than 25 locations in the United States and Canada through August. The artist behind the hit single "I'm Yours" named his upcoming tour after his 2023 LP of the same name, his eighth studio album overall and his first in three years.

Chicago/Earth, Wind & Fire

Chicago and Earth, Wind & Fire , two of the most popular bands of the 1970s, are combining for a mega-concert journey, the "Heart & Soul Tour," from July to September. Each leg of the tour will feature the "timeless music of Chicago and the iconic catalog of Earth, Wind & Fire," according to the band's website , and will "culminate in an encore performance with both bands on stage together." This timeless music will likely feature hits from both groups, including iconic soul soundtracks like "September" and "Shining Star" from Earth Wind & Fire, and rock ballads like "You're the Inspiration" from Chicago. Combined, both groups have won 11 Grammy Awards and sold more than 200 million albums.

Melissa Etheridge/Jewel

Singer Melissa Etheridge has won dozens of accolades and played thousands of venues over her decades-long career, and now she is getting ready to head back on the road. She is teaming with singer Jewel to launch the duo's summer 2024 tour . The tour covers the majority of the summer and runs from July to the beginning of October, with locations throughout the United States and Canada. Etheridge, perhaps best known for her 1993 single "Come to My Window," last released a studio album in 2021, but does not appear anywhere near the end of her journey.

Mannequin Pussy

Philly's punk rock icons are returning to the stage with a new tour. Mannequin Pussy will be embarking on their "I Got Heaven Tour" throughout July and August; the group will begin with shows in the U.K. and Europe before heading home to the United States and Canada, where they will play a series of shows before crisscrossing back to Europe again. Mannequin Pussy's music is "built on big emotions and inside jokes," said The New York Times , and the group is touring to promote their most recent studio album and fourth LP, "I Got Heaven," which was released earlier this year.

Foo Fighters

Dave Grohl and his band the Foo Fighters will be traveling down a sonic highway when they embark on their "Everything or Nothing at All Tour" in July and August. The tour comes a year after the group released their 11th LP, "But Here We Are," dedicated to both Grohl's mother Virginia and deceased band member Taylor Hawkins . The Foo Fighters will be playing shows in Manchester, Glasgow, London and other cities in the United Kingdom before playing a series of concerts in the United States. Once in America, the group, which was born out of the iconic 1990s grunge band Nirvana, will play 14 shows in 11 different cities.

Undoubtedly one of the most unique bands on this list, the psychedelic rock group Phish has formed one of the most loyal followings in music over a 40-year career (Drew Carey "talked to God" after seeing them, the television host said on X ). Now, Phish will grace the stage again with their summer 2024 tour in the United States, which will run from July to the beginning of September and will coincide with the release of their 16th LP, "Evolve," set to drop on July 12. This will mark the group's first official studio album in four years, though they did release a 2022 album under a different name.

Green Day released their 14th studio album, "Saviors," earlier this year, and they are not wasting any time promoting it. The punk rock icons are venturing on a concert tour of the same name from July 19 to Sept. 28. The band will play their popular LPs "Dookie" and "American Idiot" in their entirety, and it is very much a global endeavor: Green Day will play venues in Spain, France, Germany, the U.K., Austria and more before crossing the pond to play shows across the United States and Canada. The band is keeping busy now, as they recently headlined a UN-backed climate concert in San Francisco.

Kings of Leon

Many of the biggest names touring this summer are rock bands, and Kings of Leon are no exception. The Nashville-based group will head out on a summer 2024 tour from August to mid-October, beginning in European destinations such as the U.K., Austria, Ireland and France before playing 27 cities in the United States and Canada. The tour will be supporting Kings of Leon's ninth studio album, "Can We Please Have Fun," which was released this past February. Notably, this is the band's first album to not be released via their original recording label, RCA.

You can usher in the end of the summer on a high note by seeing one of the most notable R&B singers of all time, as Usher is embarking on his "Past Present Future" tour beginning at the end of August. The singer is riding high after a notable performance in February at Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas, the city where Usher also held multiple residencies totaling 100 shows. Usher will tour cities throughout the United States on his concert venture and is planning on touring Europe throughout 2025. His ninth LP, "Coming Home," was released to coincide with his Super Bowl performance.

Sabrina Carpenter Announces Her New Album Short n’ Sweet

The “Espresso” singer is ready to soundtrack our summer—here’s everything we know

preview for 24 Hours with Sabrina Carpenter | Harper's BAZAAR

“ Short n’ Sweet MY NEW ALBUM IS COMING OUT AUGUST 23rd!!!!💋 this project is quite special to me and i hope it’ll be something special to you too,” she wrote on Instagram. “You can preorder it now!”

Not only that, but the pop star also teased that fans can expect a surprise much sooner than the August 23 release date. (If we had to guess, it’ll likely be her next single.) “I also have a surprise coming for you on thursday night so keep an eye out!!” the Disney alum wrote.

Carpenter has already been dominating the internet and airwaves with her bouncy earworm “Espresso,” so we’re betting that Short n’ Sweet will be full of bops. Here’s everything we know about the new album.

Short n’ Sweet arrives on August 23.

Fans knew something was up on June 2, the day before Carpenter announced the new album, when the singer posted a super-mysterious video on Instagram. In the clip, Carpenter rocked a body-hugging sky-blue bodysuit as she walked up to the camera and planted a cherry-colored kiss on the screen.

The clip, it turns out, was a nod to the Short n’ Sweet album cover, which features the singer posing in front of a blue backdrop, peering over her shoulder, with a stark kissy mark on her back.

Carpenter revealed the album cover and release date in her excited post on June 3, in which she wrote, “MY NEW ALBUM IS COMING OUT AUGUST 23rd!!!!💋 this project is quite special to me and i hope it’ll be something special to you too.”

“Espresso” will be on the album and is the first single.

When Carpenter released her world-dominating hit “Espresso” in April, she casually tried to pass it off as simply a bonus treat for fans. “Just wanted to put out a little song before Coachella,” she wrote on Instagram.

But the highly quotable track is actually the first single from the album. Its inclusion on Short n’ Sweet is confirmed on Carpenter’s website, where preorder info describes it as “the debut single from the forthcoming album.” (Unfortunately, Carpenter has yet to reveal any more of the track list.)

This album will mark a shift in Carpenter’s sound.

While “Espresso” is the only taste of Short n’ Sweet that fans have gotten so far, it seems fair to assume the new album will mark something of a shift in style for the singer.

In fact, when she sat for an interview with Cosmopolitan in March, the Girl Meets World alum talked about the process behind making her new album. In reference to her fifth studio album, 2022’s Emails I Can’t Send , she said, “Well, I feel so grateful that I’ve been able to tour an album that I really care about for almost two years and that my fans have given it a life longer than I ever could have asked for. I put two and a half years into making this album, and it’s a shitty feeling when you put so much time into something and people want something new in two months. So I’m trying to really take this experience in before moving on to the next thing.”

However, she then added: “But I’ve been working on the next thing for a minute. I’m starting to feel like I’ve outgrown the songs I’m singing, which is always an exciting feeling, because I think that means the next chapter is right around the corner.”

Meanwhile, on her website, the new release is being teased with a description that reads: “ Short n’ Sweet showcases the scintillating spirit of Sabrina Carpenter, the pocket-sized pop star with a larger-than-life artistic presence. With a gold album and multiple platinum singles under her belt, it’s no wonder that ‘Espresso,’ the debut single from the forthcoming album, has it all: lyrics that make you giggle and blush and songwriting that makes you wish you’d thought of it first.”

Yes, the title is partly a reference to Sabrina’s height.

Carpenter, who stands four foot eleven, has never tried to hide the fact that she’s not tall. In fact, in her Cosmo interview, she talked about her stint as an opener on Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, saying, “And it’s been a very tall order being on a stage that big because—and this is not even to sound like a pick-me, like when girls are like, ‘I’m so small, I can’t reach the top shelf’—I’m literally five feet tall. So sometimes when I’m on that stage, it feels so huge that I just have to be larger than life in some capacity.”

Furthermore, as part of the promotion for the new LP, Carpenter had billboards put up across the country that featured humorous tweets about her height, like one that read, “When I say I hate short people, Sabrina Carpenter is NEVER included.”

Fans can likely expect another single soon.

While it wasn’t until now that we knew “Espresso” was part of Carpenter’s next major project, it seems likely fans will be served another single very soon.

The strongest indication was when Carpenter announced her new LP, and included a cheeky note in her caption that said: “I also have a surprise coming for you on thursday night so keep an eye out!!” Guess we’ll be keeping our eyes (and ears) peeled on Thursday, June 6.

Will there be a coinciding tour?

Although nothing has been confirmed yet, Carpenter seemed eager to hit the road again when she talked about opening for the Swift. “I feel so lucky that I get to watch Taylor perform every time,” she told Cosmopolitan . “It makes me want to tour the world again, which is a good feeling.” Hmm, seems to us like she might be hinting at something. But we’ll still be keeping an eye out for an official announcement.

Summer Circle Theatre Announces New Artistic Director and FREE Shows for 62nd Season

  • Post published: May 21, 2024

The Michigan State University Department of Theatre’s 2024 Summer Circle Theatre (SCT) is preparing for its 62nd season offering FREE outdoor performances for all ages. Shows run June 6-23 at the courtyard between the Auditorium Building and Kresge Art Center on MSU’s campus. This season, Summer Circle will open three productions as well as pre- and post-show performances including music, dance, improv, and clown acts.

Two actors on an outdoor theatre stage performing before a crowd of people.

Alexis Black , Assistant Professor of Acting Movement in MSU’s Department of Theatre , has stepped into the role of SCT Interim Artistic Director this summer. As a Movement Professor, Black brings a fresh perspective to the theatre utilizing her background to promise a high energy and exciting season.

“I am passionate about the storytelling we can do both with and without words,” said Black, who also is directing the final show of the season, The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) [revised] [again].

All three shows are free to attend and fun for the whole family. The SCT Courtyard is a tiered, amphitheater-style venue and patrons are encouraged to bring their own blanket, lawn chairs, and picnic for maximum comfort. Concessions will also be available for each performance. Parking is FREE and available in Lot 9, across the street from the courtyard. In the event of heavy rain, performances will be moved into the Auditorium Building.

Dessa is a 21st-century girl with no shortage of struggles, secrets, and mysteries to solve. From dinosaur bones to hidden memories, the world is filled with buried treasures just waiting to be uncovered. Luckily, thanks to the mysterious appearance of a remarkable friend — the pioneering 19th-century English paleontologist Mary Anning — young Dessa knows just how to excavate them.

After a field trip to a museum reveals that Mary Anning’s legacy has been buried by history because of her gender and lack of formal education, Dessa decides she’s going to fight to earn her friend the credit she deserves. With help from her once-rival, Nilo, Dessa sets to work unearthing the secrets hidden beneath the surface of the past and present — for Mary’s history and her own future.

With the cast in place, Jeff and Hunter begin a conversation about what to write about. In the span of 90 minutes, they write and perform their show at the festival and learn lessons about themselves as people, friends, and artists.

A cultural touchstone was born when three inspired, charismatic comics, having honed their pass-the-hat act at Renaissance fairs, premiered their preposterous masterwork at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 1987. It quickly became a worldwide phenomenon, earning the title of London’s longest-running comedy after a decade at the Criterion Theatre.

Featured are all 37 of Shakespeare’s plays, meant to be performed in 97 minutes, by three actors. Fast paced, witty, and physical, it’s full of laughter for Shakespeare lovers and haters alike. This latest “Revised Again” version includes changes that celebrate and encourage greater diversity and inclusivity in today’s theatre.
