Munnar is a town in the Western Ghats mountains in India’s Kerala state. Munnar, a hill station and former resort for the British Raj elite, is set within rolling hills dotted with tea plantations established in the 19th century. Eravikulam National Park, home to the endangered mountain goat Nilgiri tahr, is a seasonal trekking destination encompassing the Lakkam Waterfalls and 2,695m-tall Anamudi Peak.

Houseboats in Kerala, south India, are huge, slow-moving barges used for leisure trips. They are a reworked model of Kettuvallams (in the Malayalam language, Kettu means "tied with ropes", and vallam means "boat"), which, in earlier times, were used to carry rice and spices from Kuttanad to the Kochi port. Kochi is a city in southwest India's coastal Kerala state. It has been a port since 1341, when a flood carved out its harbor and opened it to Arab, Chinese and European merchants. Its use of cantilevered Chinese fishing nets dates to the 13th century.

Are Meals Included?

Breakfast included at all hotels. Our tour itineraries also have recommendations for lunch and dinner but unless requested lunch and dinners are not included in the cost.

What Are The Rules When Tipping In England?

There is not a necessity to tip in England but it is polite to tip for certain services if you were pleased with the hospitality you received. It is normal custom to tip in restaurants and personal services ( for example fishing guides, historic guides, golf caddies).

We speak with one of The Tour Designers’ founders to find out more as it is recognised in the UAE Business Awards 2023.

The Tour Designers LLC is a renowned destination management company in the world of tourism offering the best travel experience in the United Arab Emirates. Founded in 2020 by HE Sheikh Majid Al Qassimi of Sharjah royal family and Rajesh Nair, who both have more than 25 years’ worth of experience in the UAE tourism industry.

“Be it an individual leisure trip, group travel, business, or an incentive travel, our professional team will be with you from the beginning with careful designing of your concept till the successful completion,” explains Rajesh, speaking about the firm’s vision and mission. “With trust, genuineness, personal touch, and humility as our core values, we endeavour to design your everlasting travel memories. Rather than creating a simple package, we design memories.”

From a humble start of just two staff members in 2020, The Tour Designers has now grown to 20-member large team with a sales team in South Korea, Indonesia, and Africa

“Our team members are considered as a family, motivated to work in a pleasant and fun-loving atmosphere,” Majid enthuses. “Such an atmosphere carries forward the positiveness to the tourists – which converts into satisfied and repeated customers.”

Having started its journey in March 2020, just a few days before the whole world moved to the first lockdown, Rajesh and the team at The Tour Designers believe that they have seen the worst and that anything they do now is positive!

“Ever since the reopening of Dubai as the region’s leading destination, showing the leadership quality to all other destinations, who were in hibernation at that time, every quarter has been promising for us,” he enthuses. “During 2022, our target was to handle large volume groups and incentives and we were successful and had handled groups as large as 700-750.”

Recently, The Tour Designers gained recognition in the prestigious UAE Business Awards, being named Most Professional Inbound Tour Operator 2023, a much-coveted title and something of which Majid & Rajesh is unduly proud

During the remainder of 2023, he plans to establish a proper MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions) team and to open more offices around Europe, including plans to acquire more fleets and have more in-house guides so that the firm can remain competitive and find continual ways to increase its quality to customers.

Taylor Swift has over 250 Louboutin shoes for the Eras Tour as designer teases unseen boots

C hristian Louboutin has confessed just how much effort and work goes into Taylor Swift 's sparkling shoes that she wears during The Eras Tour.

He told Vogue that he designed 60 pairs of her on-stage boots just for the European leg of her tour. With those 60 designs, 250 custom Louboutins had to be made so that Taylor could rest assured that her shoes would make it through the tour. Christian said: "When working for performers, it’s better to start with a very large number of styles that will end up in a selection of designs which seem the best for the stage."

Taylor's show is three hours of action-packed and choreographed performing in which she has multiple costume changes, including her shoes. Her specially crafted boots were created with Taylor's style and music in mind. Much like her bodysuits, her footwear is built with sparkles. Christian said: “After all, this is the biggest tour in the world—the girl needs to shine!”

The shoes were reportedly made with care, especially since Christian's years of experience have taught him a few things. He explained: “I’ve learned a few magic tricks to make sure the silhouette still looks great with shoes being 100% easy to perform in. I learned at Les Folies Bergère [that] lights on stage are very strong and tend to flatten any surface.”

As Christian explained, the styles and shoes during the show are meant to capture the spirit of the specific "era" in which she's performing. Throughout Taylor's show, the star walks her fans through her discography, playing selections from every album, except for her debut self-titled LP.

During the European leg, Taylor changed up her outfit selection, taking Swifties by total surprise. She began to incorporate new designs and looks, even having some of the old bodysuits re-tailored to fit her in a more flattering way. Christian teased that there “might be more [footwear] to come” that has yet to be unveiled.

Taylor fans who track her outfits every show night will want to keep their eyes peeled. After all, the fans have been running a competition to see who can guess her outfits for the tour correctly which, given how many different switches she has, is not necessarily an easy job.

Grayson Murray, the professional golfer who won two PGA Tour titles and was outspoken about his battles with depression and alcohol, died on Saturday. He was 30.

His death was confirmed in a statement by the PGA Tour, which did not give a cause.

“The PGA Tour is a family, and when you lose a member of your family, you are never the same,” the tour commissioner, Jay Monahan, said in the statement.

After a successful 40-foot putt to win the Sony Open in Hawaii in January, Mr. Murray rose to 46th in the Official World Golf Ranking, a career high. The event marked the height of a comeback run after several volatile years as Mr. Murray struggled with his mental health.

In a news conference after winning the Sony Open, Mr. Murray said that for a time he would drink during tournament weeks.

“Best thing and worst thing that ever happened to me was winning my rookie year, but also feeling like I was invincible,” he said. “I’m a different man now, and I would not be in this position right now, today, if I didn’t put that drink down eight months ago.”

He added that he had attended rehabilitation for a month, and said, “I hope I can inspire a lot of people going forward that have their own issues.”

Mr. Murray had failed to gain P.G.A. status for several months last year after a series of off-course events mirrored a decline in his play.

A 2021 alcohol-related incident at a hotel bar in Hawaii led to his suspension from the P.G.A. Afterward, he posted to social media.

“Why was I drunk?” he wrote, adding that he was as an “alcoholic that hates everything to do with the PGA Tour life and that’s my scapegoat.”

The golfer Phil Mickelson, who has struggled with a gambling addiction , responded at the time on social media , saying “If I can help in any way I’d be happy to.”

This year, Mr. Murray played well enough to qualify for the Masters Tournament and PGA Championship. On Friday, he withdrew from the second round of the Charles Schwab Challenge in Fort Worth, Texas, citing an illness.

Grayson Murray was born on Oct. 1, 1993, in Raleigh, N.C., according to an ESPN biography. A list of survivors was not immediately available.

He attended Wake Forest, East Carolina and Arizona State Universities, and at 16 became the second-youngest player to enter the Korn Ferry Tour, according to the P.G.A.

He continued to gain prominence, playing in the U.S. Open at the age of 19 and clinching a win at the 2017 Barbasol Championship, sinking a 5-foot putt for a one-stroke victory.

After losing his PGA Tour card for the 2023 season, and following an angry outburst directed at Mr. Monahan, he seemed to have found his swing again. He won two Korn Ferry Tour tournaments last year, regaining his P.G.A. eligibility, and finished in the top 10 at two events.

Because of an editing error, the headline on an earlier version of this article misstated the winning record of Grayson Murray. He won two PGA Tour titles, not tours.

The Secret Behind Taylor Swift’s Superstar Shoes? Red Bottoms—and Loads of Crystals

Earlier this month, Taylor Swift kicked off the European leg of her record-breaking Eras Tour, beginning her marathon of live performances with four nights in Paris. Since then, the global superstar has moved on to Stockholm. In both cities, Swift has brought her catalog of hits to the stage—not to mention her signature glitzy costumes, designed by labels such as Roberto Cavalli, Vivienne Westwood, and Versace . Punctuating these looks, however? An impressive range of custom Christian Louboutin shoes, famously known for their signature red soles. (The superstar also rocked Louboutin footwear during her North American leg.)

During Swift’s recent Paris shows, the singer sported seven different pairs of Louboutin shoes—including two new custom styles, a white lace-up boot and silver heeled sandals, worn for her new era, “The Tortured Poets Department.” Swift also debuted a new pair in Sweden—performing her “1989” era in mismatched crystal-covered ankle boots (one in yellow, another in blue). Throughout the entire course of Swift’s Eras tour, Louboutin tells Vogue he has created over 250 pairs for the superstar—including 60 new pairs for her European leg alone. “When working for performers, it’s better to start with a very large number of styles that will end up in a selection of designs which seem the best for the stage,” says Louboutin. “She also likes to entertain her audience and surprise them, date after date. So, there might be more to come…”

Turns out, the designer and Swift have fashion history together. The iconic shoe designer first outfitted Swift for her Reputation tour back in 2018, and has since continued to provide shoes for her various red carpet appearances or performances ever since. He was excited about the idea of working with her again on the Eras Tour—a tour that has become one of the highest-selling in history. “I admire how much emotion Taylor puts into her performance and her work,” Louboutin says. “She is a powerhouse and her ability to do this night after night, city after city, is exceptional.”

Swift’s glitzy, stage-ready heels for the tour were first brought to life from many conversations between Louboutin, Swift, and her stylist Joseph Cassell. “Joseph and Taylor were very instrumental in communicating all the different acts, and having shoes that reflect the genre she wore then with an updated modern twist,” says Louboutin. The trio aimed to find styles that fit the aesthetic of each “era” Swift performs on-stage. “For the ‘Fearless’ era, she only wore flat boots; Our Cate boot has a beautiful angle detail at the knee that makes it sexy and feminine,” says Louboutin. “For ‘The Tortured Poet Departments’ era, we created a custom last based on archival styles that represent the Victorian theme.”

Taking Swift’s custom clothing designs into account, of course, was also important when designing the shoes; Louboutin treated the footwear as more of a finishing touch. “It was inspiring to see the ready-to-wear looks,” says Louboutin. “Joseph shared with us the sketches, and from there we thought about what shined on stage and complemented her choreography.” Louboutin also had to make sure that what he created was made for movement—and dancing, given just how choreography-heavy her show is. “Performing requires a lot of skill and concentration, so whatever costume or shoes you're wearing must not become a distraction,” says Louboutin. “They need to disappear from your thoughts, allowing your voice to be the only instrument that matters, ensuring you give your best performance and convey emotion to the audience staring at you.”

Luckily, having interned at the Parisian cabaret Les Folies Bergère as a teenager (it’s how Louboutin got his start), the designer says he’s learned a few tricks about creating glamorous shoes that are performance-ready. “Since then, I’ve learned a few magic tricks to make sure the silhouette still looks great with shoes being 100% easy to perform in,” he says. His main secret to success for shoes that are superstar-worthy? Loads of crystals and shimmer. “That’s also something I learned at Les Folies Bergère: Lights on stage are very strong, and tend to flatten any surface,” he says. Crystals, then, ensure one’s shoes can pop. “For the opening act, you can see all of [Swift’s] Elenora boots from every seat in the house,” says Louboutin. “The way strass [crystals] catch the light is super impactful on stage. After all, this is the biggest tour in the world—the girl needs to shine!”

Delaware College of Art and Design to close permanently in Wilmington

Delaware College of Art and Design announced it will be "winding down operations in the coming weeks" — then closing permanently.

DCAD shared the announcement in a press release Thursday, confirming it will not be offering any classes or awarding degrees for the 2024-25 academic year. The college's announcement came just over a week after the Class of 2024 commencement, following nearly 30 years of operation in Wilmington.

“This decision was incredibly difficult, and we explored every possible avenue to avoid it,” President Jean Dahlgren said in a statement. “However, declining enrollment over several years, including for the upcoming year, has made it impossible for us to continue effectively offering our educational programs.”

The college noted broad, ongoing challenges: a shrinking number of college-age students, rising operational costs, unexpected issues surrounding FAFSA.

For students, leaders said, support is available.

The college said it has partnered with Pennsylvania College of Art and Design and Moore College of Art & Design to offer "streamlined direct admission" for current students, as well as those students accepted for next school year.

These Lancaster and Philadelphia institutions offer comparable programs and costs, per the college, though no longer in the state. DCAD has offered associate degree programs in animation, fine arts, game art, graphic design, illustration and photography.

“We understand this news may cause stress and uncertainty,” Dahlgren continued in the release. “We are dedicated to minimizing the impact on our students during this transition and are committed to helping our faculty and staff pursue future opportunities.”

Representatives from both transfer options will be on campus Thursday, May 30, and Friday, May 31, alongside virtual sessions. More details were communicated directly to students, according to DCAD.

Cathy Young, president of Moore College of Art & Design, issued a statement Friday morning on the closure.

"The Moore community is saddened to hear about Delaware College of Art and Design’s difficult decision to close its doors. ... We have partnered with DCAD to create a seamless path for current DCAD students to join us at Moore College of Art & Design, the first and only historically women’s college for art and design, now welcoming non-binary and gender non-conforming students," she writes.

"It’s an honor and a privilege for us to be one of only two institutions selected as teach-out partners for DCAD, and we are eager to support these talented students."

Savvino-storozhevsky monastery and museum.

Zvenigorod's most famous sight is the Savvino-Storozhevsky Monastery, which was founded in 1398 by the monk Savva from the Troitse-Sergieva Lavra, at the invitation and with the support of Prince Yury Dmitrievich of Zvenigorod. Savva was later canonised as St Sabbas (Savva) of Storozhev. The monastery late flourished under the reign of Tsar Alexis, who chose the monastery as his family church and often went on pilgrimage there and made lots of donations to it. Most of the monastery’s buildings date from this time. The monastery is heavily fortified with thick walls and six towers, the most impressive of which is the Krasny Tower which also serves as the eastern entrance. The monastery was closed in 1918 and only reopened in 1995. In 1998 Patriarch Alexius II took part in a service to return the relics of St Sabbas to the monastery. Today the monastery has the status of a stauropegic monastery, which is second in status to a lavra. In addition to being a working monastery, it also holds the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum.

Belfry and Neighbouring Churches

Located near the main entrance is the monastery's belfry which is perhaps the calling card of the monastery due to its uniqueness. It was built in the 1650s and the St Sergius of Radonezh’s Church was opened on the middle tier in the mid-17th century, although it was originally dedicated to the Trinity. The belfry's 35-tonne Great Bladgovestny Bell fell in 1941 and was only restored and returned in 2003. Attached to the belfry is a large refectory and the Transfiguration Church, both of which were built on the orders of Tsar Alexis in the 1650s.  

To the left of the belfry is another, smaller, refectory which is attached to the Trinity Gate-Church, which was also constructed in the 1650s on the orders of Tsar Alexis who made it his own family church. The church is elaborately decorated with colourful trims and underneath the archway is a beautiful 19th century fresco.

Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is the oldest building in the monastery and among the oldest buildings in the Moscow Region. It was built between 1404 and 1405 during the lifetime of St Sabbas and using the funds of Prince Yury of Zvenigorod. The white-stone cathedral is a standard four-pillar design with a single golden dome. After the death of St Sabbas he was interred in the cathedral and a new altar dedicated to him was added.

Under the reign of Tsar Alexis the cathedral was decorated with frescoes by Stepan Ryazanets, some of which remain today. Tsar Alexis also presented the cathedral with a five-tier iconostasis, the top row of icons have been preserved.

Tsaritsa's Chambers

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is located between the Tsaritsa's Chambers of the left and the Palace of Tsar Alexis on the right. The Tsaritsa's Chambers were built in the mid-17th century for the wife of Tsar Alexey - Tsaritsa Maria Ilinichna Miloskavskaya. The design of the building is influenced by the ancient Russian architectural style. Is prettier than the Tsar's chambers opposite, being red in colour with elaborately decorated window frames and entrance.

At present the Tsaritsa's Chambers houses the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum. Among its displays is an accurate recreation of the interior of a noble lady's chambers including furniture, decorations and a decorated tiled oven, and an exhibition on the history of Zvenigorod and the monastery.

Palace of Tsar Alexis

The Palace of Tsar Alexis was built in the 1650s and is now one of the best surviving examples of non-religious architecture of that era. It was built especially for Tsar Alexis who often visited the monastery on religious pilgrimages. Its most striking feature is its pretty row of nine chimney spouts which resemble towers.

LOS ANGELES -- Hulu is putting its most fashionable foot forward with its new reality series "Dress My Tour."

Hosted by model Kate Upton, the series will follow 11 aspiring fashion designers as they create looks for some of the biggest names in the music industry and try to sew up the competition for the $100,000 prize.

Seven time Emmy Award winning costume designer Marina Toybina and creative director, choreographer and Emmy winning director Laurieann Gibson will pull double duty as judges and mentors.

Guest judges include Paula Abdul, JoJo Siwa, Ty Dolla $ign, Coi Leray, Toni Braxton, French Montana, JT of The City Girls and Jesse James Decker.

"Dress My Tour" premieres July 23 on Hulu.
