Santa visits will soon kick off in Dublin with plenty of places for the kiddies to visit the big man himself.

From urban farms to shopping centres to immersive experiences, there are a number of wonderful Santa visits to be experienced in and near Dublin this Christmas . Here are the best places to visit Santa in and around Dublin in 2022.

Santa at the DSPCA

Santa will arrive at the DSPCA on the weekend of December 16 to 18 to greet children and the dogs there. Promising a traditional experience that reflects the true value of Christmas, ticket holders are invited to bring along their dogs.

The experience costs €20 per child and €5 per adult , which includes a private visit with Santa, a gift for each child and dog, story time with the elves and a family photo (including the dog) for an extra €5. There will also be the charity shop which will be full of Christmas cards, cosy hoodies, gifts for pets and more.

Taylor's Santa Experience

Taking place at the Three Rock Hotel in Dublin 16, Taylor's Santa Experience includes a visit with Santa, a gift for the children and a performance by Mrs Claus and the elves. Taylor's Santa Experience is brought to us by the same producers as the Olympia Panto and The Late Late Toy Show and takes place from November 27 until December 23.

Santa's Magical Cabin at the Ilac Centre

Santa's Magical Cabin at the Ilac Centre runs from November 18 until December 23. Families will meet an elf guide who will take them directly to Santa’s house for a private visit.

Each child will receive an age-appropriate gift from Santa and there will also be a professional photographer there to capture a snap of all the family. Tickets can be booked here .

Santa's House Express

Santa's House Express returns in 2022 to Palmerstown Estate in County Kildare. Visitors can expect over 2km of displays and characters upon arrival as well as a Winter Wonderland family funfair, a personal Saint Nick visit at Santa's Manor and market stalls selling hot food and beverages.

The experience will be taking place on select dates between November 25 and December 23 with tickets available to purchase here .

Santa at Airfield Estate

The immensely popular Santa experience at Airfield Estate in Dundrum went on sale back in August and has been met with huge demand, as always. The Christmas Experience at Airfield Estate is on from November 19 until December 23 2022 and consists of a visit to Santa, a vintage carousel and much more.

Children's tickets cost €23.50 (ages 1 to 12) which includes the magical visit to Santa, a gift, a twirl on the vintage carousel, Jersey milk plum pudding ice-cream taster, a take-home trail map, warm chocolate Jersey milk and a handcrafted ‘turkey’ bookmark.

Meet Santa at the Red Stables

The Red Stables in St Anne's Park will this year play host to a wonderful Santa visit experience in aid of Laura Lynn. Elves will be on hand to help children decorate ginger biscuits and post their letter to the North Pole.

As well as the Santa visit, there will also be face painting and free hot chocolate. The experience takes place on select dates throughout December and can be booked here .

Enchanted Forest at Luggwoods

The Christmas experience at Luggwoods has become a firm annual favourite for many a family in Dublin and the Enchanted Forest will be available to book at Luggwoodsevents.com . Visitors can expect to enjoy a lit up trail at the foot of the Dublin mountains and a visit to Santa himself, as well as a number of other festive attractions.

Santa Experience at Tayto Park

Tayto Park, which will soon be widely known as Emerald Park, is bringing back its Snata visiting experience this festive season. Then popular theme park will bring visitors the usual audience with the bearded bringer of presents as well as a host of other fun attractions.

The kids will have a chance to meet cast of elf adventures and will also have access to the park and zoo before or after the visit. Of course, each child will also receive a special gift. Bookings can be made here .

Winter Wonderland at Barretstown

On Saturday and Sunday, November 26 and 27, Winter Wonderland will take place at Barretstown. There will be Christmas market stalls, family games, festive music and finally, the visit to Santa.

Children will also be able to write their letters and Santa will take those letters back with him to the North Pole. A limited number of tickets are available to book here .

North Pole Experience at Kids Zone

Kids Zone in Tallaght will play host to the North Pole Experience which will include meetings with a variety of characters, a spin on the Coca-Cola Trucks, a gift and a photo with Santa, as well as 20 minutes of Kids Zone playtime while you wait for your photo.

There will also be hot and cold food available as well as refreshments. Bookings can be made here .

Santa at Clissman Horse Caravans

After a super popular Halloween pumpkin patch experience at Clissman Horse Caravans , the family run farm is again inviting visitors for the Christmas season. Those who book tickets can expect a magical journey on a Horse Carriage Sleigh through the forest to see Santa at his Woodland Workshop where they will receive a gift.

But better than that, tucked away within its floors, is the perfect magical haven to house his secret workshop.

Expect a warm welcome to a twinkling world of festive fun. Feel the sense of anticipation grow with each step as you descend to Santa’s busy workshop to meet his special helpers, the IRE Elves, celebrated throughout the city for their exceptional gift-giving expertise.

Of course they might need a little help as they bustle about crafting beautiful toys and treats – but that’s where you come in. Make magical memories, working with the Elves to put the finishing touches to gifts that will make their way around the world. That is all before you meet the star of the show himself. Santa Claus, with his beaming smile and snowy white beard, will captivate both young and old, spreading seasonal cheer for the perfect start to your best Christmas ever!

Santa will be at Stonehall Visitor Farm and Wildlife Park in Kilcornan this December. You will arrive at Stonehall to an array of magical lights and adults will get mulled wine, tea or coffee along with a mince pie. The children can play in the play area while you wait to see Santa in his Grotto. Afterwards visit the stables and meet Rudolph!

Visit the Santa Experience at Croke Park

A team from the North Pole are setting up a training camp in Croke Park and they’d love you to visit as they prepare for their special journey around the world on Christmas Eve.

On the Santa Experience, you’ll join the Ice Patrol for a sneak peek inside the North Pole GAA Elf Dressing Rooms before entering their Skills Zone to play some ‘cool’ festive games!

Then it will be time to step inside Santa’s very special Croke Park cabin to meet the man himself. You can take a photo with Santa and tell him about your predictions for the 2024 GAA All-Ireland Championships!

Every child will receive a small GAA-themed gift and photos will also be available to purchase if you wish. You will also get access to the GAA Museum where you can collect your Junior Explorer passport and follow the North Pole GAA trail. And call into Cú Chulainn’s Den to write your letter to Santa and post it in the museum box.

Santa visits Arnotts every year, and this year Santa and the elves are back in person at Santa’s Grotto on the second floor.

All monies raised from Santa visits go to charity. Your visit to Santa includes a souvenir badge for each child. A professional photograph of your visit can be purchased at an additional cost.

Olive’s Room elves will be on hand to help the children decorate gingerbread biscuits, create a festive decoration and draw a picture or post their letter to Santa. Each child will receive their craft, a gingerbread, hot chocolate. There will be face-painting with the fabulous Rosie from Roar

Visit Santa at the DSPCA

Share in a little magic this Christmas at the DSPCA with a traditional experience. This is a pet-friendly experience so why not bring along your dog to share in the fun!

When you arrive at the DSPCA, you will be met by your own personal Elf Guide who will show you to Santa’s Cabin where you will meet Santa himself and receive a special gift. Afterwards you can enjoy story time with the elves and here all about the adventures of a very special rescue puppy in “A Puppy’s Tail”

Have your face painted, visit the charity shop, and meet some of the animals who are looking for a special home this Christmas.

Santa’s Christmas Wonderland at Dundrum Town Centre

Dates: November 25th to December 23rd

Head to the Winter Wonderland, set in a beautifully crafted timber village with thousands of sparkling lights. On arrival, check-in at the ticket office where every child will receive a personal passport that Santa will stamp for you.

With your ticket, step through the Secret Wardrobe into the Magic Garden, and on to the Candy Cane Trail for some riddles and games with the elves. Now it’s only a few short steps through the gingerbread garden and it’s into the Elves’ Workshop where you’ll see some of the amazing wooden toys that the Elves have made. Then head to visit Mrs Claus who has a wonderful collection of story books and is always busy making mince pies for Santa and dinner for the Elves. She will give every child a special note for the Fairies and maybe some secret ‘Reindeer Food’ for Christmas Eve.

Finally, an Elf will call you in to visit Santa for a chat and a wrapped present!

Visit Santa at IKEA

Bring the little ones to visit Santa for free at IKEA in Dublin, and they can enjoy some festive activities while they visit.

Santa’s grotto is located in the main entrance and he will be there on selected dates in the run up to Christmas. We hear that this Santa is excellent with any children who may have additional needs.

Visit the Winter Wonderland Trail at Airfield Estate

Head to Airfield Estate, Dublin’s only 38 acre working farm this yuletide season for a magical Christmas Experience like no other. This year you can enjoy the Winter Wonderland Trail throughout December 2023 as they take a break from their traditional Santa Experience.

The new, expanded route for this year takes you along an enchanted woodland trail, passing the elves cabin and more. • The Christmas Experience at Tayto Park in County Meath

Immerse yourself in the sweetness of Candyland, get wrapped up in the wrap-o-matic present machine and visit the reindeer stables at this fun-filled day in Tayto Park! Once you’ve visited Santa, Mrs. Claus and the elves you can explore the grounds of the Tayto Park Zoo where there are hundreds of animals to see.

Tickets start from just €8 and there’s something here for all the family.

• VIP Santa Experience at Winterval Waterford Festival  

Write a letter to the North-Pole and sit with Santa in this heart-warming experience as part of Winterval Waterford Festival in Ireland’s oldest city. The three day festival includes a Christmas market full of fresh treats and mulled delights as well as live music, dancing, amusement rides and comedy shows.

Ticket prices for the Santa grotto start from €15 and will include a family photo with Santa in a snow globe.

• Winter Wonderland at Westport House in County Mayo

Explore the magical world of Tinsel Town where you can visit the Wish Tree to make a wish, get your face painted, create Christmas decorations and ride the Winter Wonderland Express. This is topped off by a complimentary festive drink and then you are swooped away to visit Santa and Mrs. Claus in their lovely grotto.

• Visit Santa’s Polar Express at Slieve Donard Resort in County Down

Enjoy a train ride through the Winter Woodlands accompanied by movies and Christmas markets. After that you will meet Santa and then have the option to enjoy some family festive dining at the luxurious spa and resort.

• The North Pole Outpost Experience in County Cork

This is both an indoor and outdoor experience where you can visit the woods to see the elves at work before you make it to Mrs. Claus’ kitchen and then Santa’s study for a visit and pictures and finally making it to the Elves’s Toy Shop where children can pick their own gifts. Tickets are selling fast.

•   Santa’s Enchanted Castle in County Wexford  

You will be joining Mrs. Claus, Santa and the Elves at the magical castle on the hill in Wexford. The tour is about 45 minutes long and includes a gift and lots of surprises for all the family. Another lovely and inclusive element of this location is the sensory friendly tour for children who may be sensitive to audio or visual.

Tickets for kids are €20 and €10 for adults. Book early to avoid disappointment.

•   Luggwoods Enchanted Forest Christmas Experience in Dublin

Set in the foothills of the Dublin mountains, this magical woodland is exceptionally beautiful and lit up to look just like a fairytale, making it one of the best Santa Experiences in Ireland. Here you will meet the Grinch and the Fairy Queen, talk with Santa’s elves and then get to visit Santa in his lovely log cabin.

•  Santa’s Christmas Wonderland Ashford Co. Meath  

This is a really great option for anyone who is looking to do a Santa Claus visit but may be feeling like it’s too far away to go to the North Pole this Christmas.

The Santa live program created by Santa’s Christmas Wonderland allows you to have a Zoom call, phone call, letter or video message for your kids and photographs can also be sent in to get personalised bauble keepsake for your tree and a ‘Good List’ certificate.

• Christmas at Bunratty Castle in County Clare

This experience in the quaint village of Bunratty in Clare will consist of a trail of lights walk at Bunratty folk park for all the family which will then be followed by an announcement from Santa Claus at Bunratty Castle.

Tickets are €15 for adults and kids while babies under 2 years go free.

• Elf Town in County Galway

Elf Town is set over three buildings and four floors and the whole experience takes 2 hours. This includes an extra special visit to Santa, the Elves, Mrs. Claus and his trusted reindeer!

Every child will get a special coin keepsake from Santa who will tell them something about themselves in order to create a magical experience for every child. All will receive a gift included in the price of their ticket and reviews for this experience are 5 star!

• Santa’s Magical Trail at Clanad Court Athy County Meath

A wonderful and highly rated Santa experience, each child will get to visit Santa’s petting zoo, make a wish as they stir the pudding in Mrs. Claus’ kitchen and send their letters to the North Pole before meeting Mr. Claus in the flesh.

The experience is then followed by a festive dining experience in the Clanad Court after the children receive their gifts from Santa. A lovely aspect of this event is that the proceeds raised all go to children’s charities after the day is over. A wonderful way to give a gift this Christmas.

13. Winter at IMMA 

Visit Santa in his magical gardens at the Irish Musuem of Modern Art! This Christmas season, IMMA will come to life with immersive experiences for all of the family to enjoy! With amazing Christmas lights, live music performances and events this is an art-filled festive experience to remember!

14. Santa Experience at Croke Park

The Santa Experience at Croke Park will test the GAA skills of your little one and then take you courtside to take an ‘Elfie’ with the team of elves who have come from the North Pole just for the occasion! With free admission into the GAA museum and a free GAA themed gift, this tour of Croke Park and visit with Santa will delight GAA fans all over! Santa will be arriving at Croke Park from 27th of November and tickets for kids start at € 11 and free parking is available on site!

15. Santa at The Square Tallaght 

Santa is coming to the Square at Tallaght and this amazing experience includes an adventure trail as well as a panoramic wheel and funfair!

The trail highlights include a Candy Cane swing, Hop Scotch Lane and Santa’s Sleigh. There are also Candy Cane trampolines and a merry-go-round! You will get to visit Santa’s grotto and then spend your day adventuring throughout this Winter wonderland! Bookings start from November 21st and will go on until Christmas Eve. The History ofMalahide Castle

Malahide Castle was originally built and gifted to the Talbot Family in 1174, Over the centuries, rooms and fortifications were added, modified and strengthened until the castle took on its current form. The Castle is filled with a rich family history and a unique collection of artwork, furniture and architecture compiled over the eight centuries of the Talbots tenure. With many rooms remaining the same as when the final Baron de Malahide lived in the Castle, The Talbot family sold the property to the Irish State in 1975 who have since worked to preserve its magnificent beauty and history.

Santa’s House Express presents: Journey through Santa’s Kingdom in Dublin

Set up in 2014, the Santa House Express has been welcoming families as part of their traditions for almost a decade now at the beautiful Palmerstown House Estate.

Palmerstown House Estate, Johnstown, Kill, Co Kildare

Located just off exit 8 on the N7 and a 15-minute drive from Dublin, Santa’s House Express is the best place to visit Santa this Christmas 2022.

The experience begins when you are greeted by twinkling lights at the North gates of Palmerstown House Estate, before embarking on an adventure through Santa’s Kingdom.

This year the team is combining the best of both with their traditional and drive-thru experience.

You can drive around the 2km route, taking in the magical displays of Elftown, The Reindeer Stables, The Toy Factory and much more along the way.

For the second part of the experience, you will park the car & make your way up Candy Cane Lane to visit Santa in his Manor House.

For the final part of the experience, guests can spend some time at our outdoor ‘Winter Wonderland’ village around the Manor, where you will find the ever-popular family funfair, along with stalls with food & drinks.

5 funfair ride tokens per child are included in the ticket, and opportunities for photos.

Wonderlights presents: 'The Night Sky at Malahide Castle and Gardens

The incredibly popular Wonderlights is making its return to Dublin this Christmas with an incredible new theme announced.

The brand new show will open at Malahide Castle & Gardens from November 4, 2022 - January 3, 2023.

Wonderlights is introducing an incredible new show this year called Wonderlights presents: 'The Night Sky'.

Guests will embark on a sensory adventure to the Northern Lights.

The show will journey from the Irish Countryside, across the Northern Seas, through the Arctic Forests and discover the spectacular Northern Lights.

The experience continues with some fantastic scenes of ‘The Night Sky’ from Meteor Showers to the Cosmos.

An international team of talented creatives have curated this spectacular new show.

Significant investment in state of the art technologies and dazzling displays will ensure returning guests will be super impressed.

Wonderlights is an enchanting event for all ages.

Perfect for all the family, couples and groups of friends, attendees will enjoy stunning light displays and immersive projections for a sensory experience like no other.

The route is fully accessible to wheelchair users, and buggies / prams are welcome.

Entry times are every 15 minutes from dusk on selected dates between the 4th of November 2022 and the 3rd of January 2023.

Cork North Pole Experience - Christmas 2022

The Cork North Pole Outpost Experience is a fun and imaginative theatrical production bringing to life the real values of a good ol’ fashioned Cork Christmas.

The interactive and immersive theatrical experience last approximately 65 – 80 minutes, you will visit 4 different themed areas, including the toy building workshop and Mrs Claus Kitchen where they will decorate their own cookies.

Every year the experience has new characters and themes with loads of fun and interaction.

The experience is concluded with a private visit to Santa Claus in his woodland cabin where there will be a photographer on hand to take a photo of your family or group.

Santa Visits the Big Top 2022, Co. Carlow

This Christmas you can have an unforgettable journey on the Rathwood Express through the Enchanted Festive Forest to see Santa, Mrs. Claus, and their dazzling dancing elves .

Beneath the twinkling Christmas lights of Santa’s Big Red Top, you will be immersed within the most spectacular interactive show made for all the family.

Elf Town is a 2 hour Christmas experience set over 3 different buildings with the magical journey itself set over 4 floors, where at the end, you and your family get a private visit with Santa who is the most realistic and authentic Santa you will find.

Wild Lights at Dublin Zoo

Wild Lights, the spectacular, night-time experience at Dublin Zoo, is back with an exciting brand new theme – The Magic of Life.

Wild Lights will take place from 28th October 2022 – 9th January 2023.

Following a magical journey through Dublin Zoo, guests will get the opportunity to see breath-taking lanterns showcasing some of the most fascinating plant and animal communities and ecosystems on our planet.

Admission to Wild Lights will be €23 for adults and €19 for children. Annual pass holders can avail of a special rate of €21 for adults and €17 for children.

Santa’s Enchanted Christmas, Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford

Take your little ones to Enniscorthy, Co Wexford this Christmas season and treat them to the ultimate magical adventure at Santa’s Enchanted Christmas Enniscorthy.

Check-in for your Enchanted Christmas experience at the New Santa HQ in the winter wonderland of the National 1798 Rebellion Centre.

Everything is being put in order to create a magic location with Santa and Mrs Claus busy wrapping gifts, baking biscuits and writing lists.

Donegal’s Lapland, Co. Donegal – a live Christmas show

Families flock back to Donegal’s Lapland year after year for many reasons and have done so since 1999.

When the show starts the elves appear and explain the story of Christmas.

The show continues and Santa makes his entrance, coming down the chimney.

First stop is the toy factory where Santa will let each child chose their own present before you all head off to explore the rest of Santa’s Village.

Winter Wonderland at Westport House in Co. Mayo

This Christmas Westport House will transform their 18th-century coach house, and grounds into a beautiful, festive, magical atmosphere all complete with awe-inspiring decorations and snow.

The experience will run from November 19th - December 23rd 2022.

The run-up to Christmas is a highlight for many families every year, with twinkly lights everywhere, festive parties and nativity plays, and of course, a trip to visit Santa!

The elves at everymum have been researching the best options for visiting Santa in Ireland in 2023. Read on to find the best options for your family.

A trip to see Santa used to mean one of two options: The local shopping centre, or the local department store. Either way, there was usually an elf, there might be a present, and there was always a man in a red suit. It was quick and easy. A no-frills experience, but often the highlight of the Christmas.

Today, it’s not just about going to your shopping centre, oh no. There are now “destinations” and “experiences” where you can visit Santa in his winter wonderland or have a video call live from Lapland in the comfort of your own home!

No longer just a queue and a three-minute chat with the main man; there are train rides, magical trails, forest walks, feeding animals, sleighs, live shows, Mrs Claus, and gallons of hot chocolate (or if you’re lucky, mulled wine). Although of course, it all costs a bit more than Santy in Switzers ever did.

Searching online it might be difficult to make sense of the numerous destinations around the country. But don't worry, we've done the phoning and the googling, and put this list together for you.

1. Santa’s Magical Trail, Clanard Court Hotel, Co. Kildare

2. Elf Town, Galway

Elf Town always offers a special experience. Based at Galway Racecourse, visit Mrs Claus in her kitchen and decorate your own Christmas tree cookie with her and the Elves, while enjoying a glass of mulled wine or fruit punch. Then as a small group, you will meet Santa in his grotto, where Santa will give each child a special Elf Town coin, beautifully presented in a gift box to bring home with them.

3. The Santa Express, Wicklow Christmas Market, Wicklow Town

The Santa Express at Wicklow Christmas Market will transport you on a magical train journey to Santa’s Wonderland, in exclusive family carriages. Let the elves guide your through their creative workshops, then relax as Mrs Claus reads some of her favourite Christmas tales.​

Of course, Santa will also be waiting to meet all the boys and girls, and each child will get a special gift. Don't forget to enter the festive colouring competition too!

You can also explore the magical Abbey grounds to find delights including a magical funfair, and artisan food and craft stalls. Plus don’t forget to say hello to the Alpacas, and post ​your letter in Santa’s Official Postbox.

4. The Santa Experience

The Santa Experience is renowned for being full of magic and fun every year, and this year in-person visits are back. Visit Santa in his Magical Cabin where you'll receive a gift and a memorable photo of your visit with the big man.

Want something more traditional this year? You could get a personalised signed letter from Santa with an official 'Nice List' certificate. Or order a special personalised gift box – it includes the letter and certificate, plus a copy of the beautifully illustrated children's book Finding Nutmeg , which details the story of one boy’s magical adventure to the North Pole, a Finding Nutmeg activity book, and a pack of reindeer food!

Luggwoods is renowned for creating a magical Christmas experience every year, and this year is no exception.

Explore the new Woodland Walk of Wonder with some of Luggwoods’ amazing fairytale characters, before meeting Santa in a breathtakingly beautiful Enchanted Forest setting.

6. Donegal’s Lapland, Donegal

Donegal’s Lapland is a magical experience, starting with a live Christmas show with music, elves, and plenty of surprises thrown in. Look out for Santa as he arrives down the chimney with treats for everyone, but beware the naughty elf! After the show, visit Santa’s village for a trip to the toy factory where your child can choose their own gift, visit the live nativity and much more!

7. Santa House Express, Palmerstown House Estate

Santa’s House Express is back at the Palmerstown House Estate this Christmas for its seventh year!

Hop onboard Santa’s House Express Train for a journey through the beautiful grounds of Palmerstown House Estate, until you reach the Manor. Mrs Claus and friends will welcome you to the great hall with a wonderful show for all their special guests.

She will then invite families to join Santa and some very special characters for an audience to remember! Each family bubble will have their own space to enjoy the show and atmosphere of the audience with Santa and his hilarious helpers.

A warm festive welcome awaits you after your train journey back to the North Pole Village, which has a festival funfair that can be enjoyed by all ages, with unlimited rides for all visitors. There will also be magnificent additions to the festival lighting show.

8. The Christmas Experience, Tayto Park, Meath

At The Christmas Experience  each family will meet Santa individually  and have a chat during your visit, after a magical adventure through Elf-land guided by Santa’s head elf, Jingles.

You can also meet Mrs Claus as she bakes in preparation for the Christmas holidays, help get the elves out of bed and do their daily exercises, and prepare some magic reindeer food which you can take home to help them on their way on Christmas Eve.

The Christmas Experience includes entry to Tayto Park and attractions such as the Zoo and Junior Zone.

9. Christmas Island, Rathdrum, Co. Wicklow

The award-winning Christmas Island – the Santa Experience returns for its 9th year at Hidden Valley Resort, Rathdrum, Co. Wicklow. Expect festive fun, and an unforgettable and unique Christmas Experience – You can even stay overnight!
