An In-Depth Look at Aceu’s Gaming Setup

Aceu hails from a small town in Indiana where he didn’t have much else to do aside from playing video games with his stepfather and friends. His first video game was Quake , which ignited his love for the fps genre. As he grew up, he moved through many of the main franchises, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) , Gears of War and Halo . He even competed in a few CS:GO  LAN events.

However, despite several years of serious grinding, he reached a point where he was struggling to find teammates and so decided to play and stream Apex Legends   as soon as it released in February 2019, while he was biding his time looking for new CS:GO . teammates.

This hobby wound up being the breakthrough into the pro-gaming scene that he had been hoping for as he was soon maining Apex Legends and had signed with NRG by March 2019. Since then, he has continued to obtain amazing achievements, such as by winning the Twitch Rivals tournaments in September 2019.

Below is a list of the equipment that aceu uses in his gaming setup to maintain his edge against his opponents.

WHAT MONITOR DOES ACEU USE?

Aceu uses a BenQ ZOWIE XL2546 24.5-inch 240Hz Gaming Monitor. The BENQ XL2546 is a 24.5-inch gaming monitor. Its screen features a 1920×1080 resolution, 240Hz refresh rate and 1ms with a power consumption of 55W. This combination is designed to reduce lagging and blurriness during high-paced games, making it perfect for the fps games that aceu favors. It also has built-in adjustable and removable side shields which serve to block out background distractions from his peripheral vision while he is trying to focus on his gameplay.

WHAT MOUSE DOES ACEU USE?

Aceu’s gaming setup includes a FinalMouse Ultralight 2 Cape Town. The FinalMouse Ultralight 2 Cape Town is a wired, plug-and-play gaming mouse that is an upgrade of the original FinalMouse model. It is constructed from a matte plastic chassis dotted with honeycomb holes. It also features no lighting options so as to bring it to an extremely light weight of just 47g (1.66oz.) Its dimensions of  11.5 x 5.3 x 3.57cm (4.53 x 2.09 x 1.4”) coupled with an ergonomic, symmetrical design makes it more suited to users with small to medium-sized hands who favor either a claw or fingertip grip style. However, one of its main features are the three sets of infinity skins that it comes with. Each set has a different thickness which allows the user to adjust the shape and size according to their preferred grip and hand shape. They can be layered on top of each other and are easily removeable.

It is set with a Pixart 3360 Optical sensor that offers a maximum DPI of 3,200. It comes with preset DPI levels of 400, 600, 1600 and 3200 that can be toggled between with the DPI button located below the scroll wheel. These are fixed and cannot be reset through the software. It operates at a polling rate of 500Hz and a response rate of 500Hz. Furthermore, its maximum acceleration is at 50G with a maximum speed of 250IPS.

WHAT KEYBOARD DOES ACEU USE?

Aceu uses a Ducky One 2 Mini Pure White keyboard. This 60% RGB keyboard tries to save gamers as much desk space as possible by including only the most basic keys and smallest border. Its compact size is also designed to be easily transportable. It has four thin grips on its underside to help keep it in place, as well as 3 level adjustable feet that can be flipped out if wanted.

WHAT MICROPHONE DOES ACEU USE?

Aceu uses an Audio-Technica AT2020USB+ microphone . The AT2020 is a unidirectional cardioid condenser microphone is among those that are commonly used by streamers, most likely due to a combination of the audio output quality and affordability. Other streamers who use it include dizzy , Itssky and Dappur .

This microphone has a frequency response range of 20 – 20,000Hz with an impedance of 100ohms. It also has two knobs to allow for mix control and volume control without needing to log into to the software.

Accessories include a microphone tripod stand, carry case, USB connector cable, audio interface, and pivoting stand mount. However, many feel that it also requires a pre-amp to really optimize the audio quality.

WHAT WEBCAM DOES ACEU USE?

Aceu uses a Logitech C920 webcam . The C920 is a basic clip-on plug-and-play webcam. It allows for recording options of either 1080p at 30fps or 720p at 30fps for a resolution of up to 1920 x 1080p. It’s also important to note that you will need a separate vocal recording device from either a dedicated microphone or a headset, as the audio output of the C920 isn’t so clear.

For an idea of the video output quality as compared to other makes, there are plenty of YouTube videos that you can check out. Nevertheless, this is a decent webcam to start out with at least until you earn enough to justify investing in more expensive equipment.

WHAT MIXER DOES ACEU USE?

Aceu uses a TC Helicon GoXLR mixer . The TC Helicon GoXLR is a compact, Windows-compatible mixer that has one XLR input slot and one TS/TRS/TRRS microphone jack. As it can only handle a single input source, it is best suited for streamers or solo vocalists over those who intend to do multi-party podcasts in a live studio. In addition to a preamp that can support a gain of up to 70 Db, it also has four volume sliders as well as various buttons and knobs to allow for voice sampling, audio effects and muting audio, among other functions.

GAMING ORIGINS aceu grew up in a small town where there wasn’t much to do. His stepfather played a lot a lot of Quake and Counter-Strike 1.6, so aceu spent a lot of time watching his stepfather play when he was little. When his stepfather felt he was old enough, he invited aceu to start playing Quake with him and his friends. Although he played really poorly against them, this motivated him to work harder at acquiring new skills so that he would be able to play against them more evenly.

When he was older, he moved onto console gaming, where he mainly play Call of Duty, Halo and Gears of War. He went to his first Gears of War LAN when he was around thirteen years old. From then on, he continued participating in many tournaments for CS:GO, Gears of War and Halo. The older crowd was very encouraging towards him, which helped him to retain his motivation as he grew older.

He returned to PC gaming after his stepfather gave aceu his old computer when he bought himself a new one. This was largely due to the growing popularity of pre-season League of Legends (LoL) and his friends’ interest in it. He made it to diamond by season 4 and then started playing Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) in 2015. He quickly addicted to it and spent most of his free time grinding it and managed to reach Global within the first 100 hours of playing in matchmaking with his friends.

After high school, he worked as a delivery driver for Papa John’s pizzeria while he was trying to make it into to pro-CS:GO league.

PROFESSIONAL GAMING He created his ESEA account in September 2016 in order to play pubs. Soon afterwards, one of the people that he met on the site offered to introduce him to EclipseGG. They performed well and attracted the attention of Rise Nation, who offered both him and @Moose a better deal to join their team. They were then bought by eUnited in March 2018 and remained with them until January 2019, when they benched him.

While aceu was looking for another team, he decided to start streaming on Twitch and began playing Apex Legends when it released in February 2019, as he was feeling burnt out after grinding CS:GO for so long and saw Apex as an opportunity to try out something different. He slowly transitioned into predominantly streaming apex rather than CS:GO and then signed on with NRG Esports in March 2019 as part of their Apex Legends team.

Thanks to his stepfather’s involvement with video games, both he and his mother were always supportive of his gaming pursuits, just as long as he was safe and earning enough money to support himself.

RELATIONSHIPS He has a long-term girlfriend.

INCOME According to his Twitch overlay, aceu has ~7,480 subscribers and often attracts over 10,000 viewers. Therefore, this should generate him a monthly income of at least $26,180 USD, excluding additional revenue from tiered subscriptions, his team salary, merchandise sales, donations, Twitch cheer bit contributions, advertisements and sponsorships. EsportsEarnings estimates that he has won over ~$104,400 USD from various tournaments.

The gamer plays for NRG Esport as a full-time streamer on Twitch, where he has thousands of viewers and impressed gamers who want to improve their skills based on his game skills. The gamer is popularly known by the professional game aceu. His settings make him a better player and improve clarity as he streams. These are the settings he uses to achieve a high ranking in the game.

Monitor setup

The gamer plays on a Benq XL2546 monitor and sets the brightness level at 64. The contrast setting is at 60 while the Low Blue Light is 2. He uses the Black eQualizer at 10 while the Color Vibrance is 11. Aceu sets the sharpness at six and the DyAC on premium for the best results, and the Color Temperature is Bluish. These settings improve the gaming experience and reduce visual strain on his eyes. The monitor has a 1920×1080 resolution, with the Display Mode is on Fullscreen. He also plays with the Frame Rate Limit unlocked to ensure he can hit high frame rates.

Video setup

The gamer plays Valorant using an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 TI, and it lets him achieve high picture quality and proper high frame rates. He sets the Material Quality, Detail Quality, UI Quality, and Texture Quality on high for the best results. The VSync and the Vignette options are disabled, while the Anisotropic Filtering option is at 8X. He plays with the Anti-Aliasing mode disabled, and Bloom and Distortion are disabled. Aceu enables the Improve clarity option for a better visual appearance on the game, ensuring he can hit targets easily.

Valorant Radar setup

Aceu plays with the Minimap Size at 1 while the Minimap Zoom is at 0.9. He plays with the Minimal Vision Cones while the map is set to rotate as he moves through the map. These settings allow him to navigate better and reach targets and shoot at them better.

Mouse setup

The gamer plays using a Finalmouse Starlight-12 Zeus, and it elevates his gaming experience. He sets the DPI at 800 and the eDPI at 376. These ensure he can navigate through the map better and achieve better results. He sets the Sensitivity at 0.47 and the Scoped Sensitivity at 1. These settings reduce strain on the wrist as he plays the game.

What microphone does Aceu use?

Aceu uses the shure sm7b microphone as part of his streaming setup.

The Shure SM7B is that fan-favorite microphone used by the large majority of streamers on Twitch and YouTube. It’s a premium piece of tech, from a highly reputable company in the microphone world. Designed with recording speech and vocal performance in mind, the Shure SM7B does a phenomenal job at making anyone sound like a voice-over professional.

This isn’t your classic USB plug-and-play, the Shure SM7B is a dynamic microphone that requires a decent audio interface (mixer) just to pair with your PC. Such a mixer (we recommend the GOXLR MINI) will set you back an extra $200 at the very least. 

The Shure SM7B uses a Cardioid Polar Pattern which eliminates the possibility of background noises being picked up with a tradeoff being that you have to sit pretty close to your mic for it to properly pick up your voice. 

All of this comes in a sleek, timeless, black design. You can’t go wrong with a Shure SM7B, hence why most streamers use this microphone. However, it does come at a hefty price point and requires extra peripherals (mixer, XLR cable, microphone stand) to work.

Aceu doesn’t really use a gaming headset to stream Valorant or Apex Legends. He just plays with wired apple earbuds!

This is impressive, considering these games require you to carefully listen to your enemy’s footsteps in order to perform. Gaming headsets help you with that, but hey it doesn’t seem to stop Aceu.

The reason Aceu uses Apple airbuds , according to his nightbot , is because headsets would mess up his BTS haircut. And also they give him a headache.

What gaming chair does Aceu use?

Herman Miller chairs are a step-up from your basic gaming chair which usually gives you a lumbar support pillow and calls it a day. The Embody comes with a backfit adjustment that is built to fit your natural spine and adapt to your movement. Of course, all this comes at a massive price point that isn’t feasible for a casual streamer.

Other big-time streamers who use Herman Miller Embody chairs are Shroud and xQc .

What monitor does Aceu use?

Brandon " aceu " Winn (born April 7, 1995) is a retired American player who is currently playing as a streamer for Sentinels .

aceu entered Apex Legends as a former Counter Strike player and quickly made a name for himself due to his flashy gameplay. Initially playing for NRG Esports in the first year of the game's release, he eventually retired from competing to focus on streaming and content creation.

After being dropped from eUnited 's Counter-Strike team in late 2018, aceu began to focus on streaming. [5] Several months later, Apex Legends was released, which aceu picked up. He quickly went viral due to his flashy, movement-focused playstyle. This quick rise in popularity led to him joining NRG Esports on March 6th, 2019 where he played alongside former Counter-Strike friend Coby " dizzy " Meadows. [6]

The team intially found a lot of success in Twitch Rivals tournaments that used a Kill Race based format. However, as the competitive scene developed to focus more onto the Battle Royale genre and realizing what a competitive Battle Royale entailed, aceu lost interest in competing, even stating that it made him dislike the game. [7] Despite this, he still remained with the team. NRG was invited to the Preseason Invitational in Poland, where they narrowly made the finals by finishing one point ahead of GamersOrigin in the Winners Bracket Finals. In Grand Finals, NRG struggled throughout the series, scoring less than 3 points on average for all but one round. However, they still managed to place 12th due to their second-last game, where they finished 2nd with 18 total kills (the largest amount of kills within a single game in Grand Finals). To wrap up the year, the team attended TwitchCon San Diego , where they managed to win their group, and aceu was awarded the MVP of the tournament.

After TwitchCon, aceu released his movement guide . This guide introduced many players to the possibilities that movement brought within the game and also explained how to execute various movement techniques, such as slide jumping, wallbouncing and redirecting, laying the early fundamentals of movement within Apex Legends.

At the start of 2020, aceu played the initial Major Qualifier , but NRG failed to advance. The circuit was also halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic . As a result, aceu decided to transition into a content creator role within the organization. [7]

Aceu remained with NRG for another 2 years, focusing on streaming and growing his content into other games such as VALORANT . He finally parted ways with NRG on October 20th, 2022. [8] He signed with Sentinels as a content creator on November 11th, 2022. [9]

BENTON HARBOR, Mich. (AP) — Richard Bland shot a 5-under 66 on Friday to set the target at the KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship in the Englishman's senior major debut.

Bland, who won his first DP World Tour title at 48, was at 12-under 130.

He had a one-shot lead over Scott Dunlap after the morning wave, and it looked as though it would hold up as the 36-hole lead. The second round was delayed in the afternoon by potentially dangerous weather, making it unlikely it would finish.

Chris DiMarco (65) was three shots behind. Among those still on the course, former Open champion Stewart Cink was at 6-under and still had seven holes remaining, including a pair of par 5s and a short par 4.

Bland has been leaning on his driving accuracy, even as he waits for his putter to warm up on the tricky Jack Nicklaus-designed greens.

He made his first bogey on the par-4 fourth when he failed to get up-and-down, and Bland considers the next hole key to his round — all because of a fly.

“As I was hitting my tee shot — literally as I was starting my downswing — a fly came straight across the ball,” Bland said. “I saw it and I hit it in the left trap. For that hole, I would've been reaching that, especially with it being downwind and off the right. I could have probably hit maybe even iron into that hole today.”

Instead, he had to lay up and then managed to get up-and-down from 130 yards for birdie.

Dunlap, who won earlier this year on the PGA TOUR Champions, was challenging for the lead with seven birdies until he lost a scoring opportunity by making bogey on the par-5 16th. He still posted a 65 and was not in the mood to complain.

“That's as good of golf as I've got,” Dunlap said. “Obviously, I won recently, so got a little bit of confidence, maybe figured a few things out. But my track record around here has been a little wanting, so I guess maybe I hadn’t used up any of good golf. It’s kind of all come out in these two rounds. See what we have left in the tank for the final two.”

DiMarco's highlight was holing out a bunker shot on the par-5 10th for eagle.

Defending champion Steve Stricker, who had never played at Harbor Shores, was 1-over for the round through 12 holes and eight shots behind Bland.

Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour touches down in Madrid next week, and in the words of Swift herself, “it’s best that [you] move fast” if you’re planning on snagging last-minute tickets.

Swift is playing two back-to-back nights at Madrid’s Estadio Santiago Bernabeu next Wednesday, May 29, and Thursday, May 30, and she’ll once again be joined by rock band Paramore as the opener.

Ahead of the two-night run, the tour stop made news as the Real Madrid football club filed a request to move up the final day of the La Liga season in order to give Swift’s team adequate time to construct the stage. It appears the match was moved, as Real Madrid will take on Real Betis tomorrow rather than the originally scheduled Sunday.

Enthusiasm is clearly at an all-time high, but prices on these shows are dropping to new lows. In fact, you can currently snag tickets for under $200; that was unheard of during last year’s United States leg of the Eras Tour, where tickets frequently went for over $1,000 last minute.

Sometimes it pays to procrastinate, and now is definitely one of those times.

Paramore’s Eras Tour setlist also spans their eras as a band; it includes songs from their latest album , like “This is Why” and their recent cover of Talking Heads’ “Burning Down the House,” plus older hits like “Misery Business” and “The Only Exception.”

Madrid is ready to feel “Enchanted” by Taylor Swift this coming weekend.

Swift will head to Madrid, Spain to perform at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium on May 29-30 , and Swifties should get excited about how cheap tickets are.

The fact that tickets are under $150 — cheaper than the tickets for her Lisbon concerts — means that they are most likely going to sell out fast. These prices are right next to Sweden’s as the biggest steals of the “Eras Tour” yet.

Where to buy the cheapest Taylor Swift concert tickets

Throughout the “Eras Tour,” the cheapest last-minute tickets for Swift’s 2024 concerts have been on StubHub and Vivid Seats .

As of now, the cheapest ticket for Swift’s May 29 “Eras Tour” concert in Madrid is $112 on StubHub , with tickets being listed as high as $6,145.

For her May 30 show, the cheapest ticket at the time of publication is $89 on StubHub , with other tickets being listed as high as $2,363.

Taylor Swift pauses acoustic set of Stockholm Eras Tour show to check on fans

STOCKHOLM − Taylor Swift paused her acoustic set of the Eras Tour to check in with the audience after fans seemingly tried to get her attention.

The singer asked on the mic, "Someone in the front row, can you tell me yes or no to this question: When you guys are putting a bunch of flashlights up in a group, does that mean people need help?"

"We're at the end of the night, so if I see that again, I'm gonna try to point it out. I just didn't know if you were … waving at me," Swift continued.

Taylor Swift Updates or @SwiftNYC shared footage of the moment on X as well. "Taylor checking on her fans and if they were okay just before she started the acoustic set tonight," they captioned the social media post.

Several audience members were taken to the medical area during the final night of the Eras Tour in Stockholm, Sweden, at the Friends Arena. Many service and safety workers, between the audience barricade and the stage, handed out cups to fans with free water.

Free water stations could also be found lining the floor of the open arena. Cold water bottles were for sale, too.

Heat has been an issue for the Eras Tour after a fan died in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil due to heat exhaustion back in November.

"I can't believe I'm writing these words but it is with a shattered heart that I say we lost a fan earlier tonight before my show,"  Swift posted in an Instagram  message several hours after the show at the time. "I can't even tell you how devastated I am by this. There's very little information I have other than the fact that she was so incredibly beautiful and far too young. I'm not going to be able to speak about this from stage because I feel overwhelmed by grief when I even try to talk about it. I want to say now I feel this loss deeply and my heart goes out to her family and friends. This is the last thing I ever thought would happen when we decided to bring this tour to Brazil."

Pyrotechnics that used to surround the stage and go off during "Bad Blood" have been downsized to 12 flame projectors that are only on the main stage under the screen.

Outside of the stadium, the chill temperature of Stockholm was in the high fifties. 

Swift heads to Lisbon, Portugal next week for three nights where temperatures will be in the mid-70s.
