Insomniac Confirms Dates For Day Trip Festival 2024

Avatar photo

Today, Insomniac has confirmed the return of Day Trip Festival for 2024, alongside a number of improvements and amenities for when the two-day event kicks off this summer.

The Southern California house music festival will come back to Long Beach, California’s Queen Mary Waterfront for a third straight edition on June 22 and 23, 2024.

In addition to locking in dates for Day Trip 2024, organizers also shared on Instagram that they’ve “put in work to renovate the festival grounds even further” for the event’s “biggest and best year yet.” An expanded layout for this year’s Day Trip Festival will allow for 25 percent more bathrooms, improved crowd control, extra shade structures, “leveled-up stage designs” and more.

No lineup has been announced yet, but Day Trip Festival 2023 featured huge performances from Duke Dumont , James Hype , MEDUZA , Dom Dolla and more.

In 2024, Day Trip will fully introduce techno at the festival for the first time in its four-year history. Day Trip’s High Tide main stage will host house, tech house and disco sets, while its Deep End stage will give life to underground, minimal and techno performances. A third Shoreline stage will feature local artists and more.

As seen in 2023, Day Trip’s late-night counterpart, Night Trip, will host official festival afterparties on board the Queen Mary, with two stages located in the ship’s ballrooms.

Fans can also book a weekend hotel stay on the retired ocean liner. As part of a weekend Day Trip accommodation package, guests will receive access to their own dedicated festival entrance, an exclusive viewing deck of the High Tide stage and a pair of two-day afterparty passes for each room.

Fans can register for the 2024 Day Trip Festival pre-sale here .  Pre-sale and general on-sale will begin this Thursday, February 29.

Day Trip Festival 2023 ticketholders will have first access to the pre-sale window at 10AM PT. Day Trip’s SMS pre-sale will follow at 11AM PT before general on-sale begins at 12PM PT.

It’s all about house music this weekend at the Queen Mary as Insomniac brings its two-day Day Trip Festival to Long Beach.

The third edition of the fest, which made its debut at NOS Event Center in San Bernardino in 2021 before moving to the Harry Bridges Memorial Park adjacent to the ship, returns to the waterside location on June 24-25.

More than 30 house music DJs and artists will be performing on two stages throughout the event.

The festival is officially sold out, however Insomniac is launching an official resale marketplace. The Burbank-based production company is cautioning guests about purchasing from third-party resale sites as the information cannot be verified and tickets may not be valid for entry. Fans can sign up at daytripfest.com for details on the official resale marketplace.

If you already have your tickets, or you’re lucky enough to snag a few in the resale marketplace, here’s what you need to know before you go.

Day Trip Festival is aimed at people who love to dance, in particular, those who love to dance to house music.

The festival includes more than 30 up-and-coming as well as veteran artists on two stages. House music pioneer Robin S., whose early 1990s hit “Show Me Love” has become one of the most recognizable house music songs of all time, is performing on Saturday. Joining her is Mr. V, a New York native who is heavily influenced by hip-hop and R&B and is known for tracks like “Jus Dance” and “Da Bump.”

The future of house music will be bumping on Sunday with DJs like Dom Dolla, who jumped into the scene in 2013 with genre-blending tunes like “The Boxer” and “Love Like This.” The festival will wrap up a performance by deep-house producer and DJ Nora En Pure, alongside Dutch EDM group Tinlicker. Expect some deep melodic music from this set as they close out the weekend.

Hours and location

Gates open at 2 p.m. Saturday with the music ending at midnight. Gates open at noon on Sunday and it all ends at 11 p.m. that evening.  The Queen Mary will serve as a majestic background for the festival, which is taking place at the 15,000-capacity waterfront park adjacent to the ship located at 1126 Queens Highway in Long Beach. The ship had been closed since the pandemic, but is now open to the public .

House rules

The concert is for those 21-and-older only and once you’re in, you’re in for good because there are no in and outs. And yes, of course you can dance, but there’s no moshing, crowd-surfing or stage-diving allowed. But feel free to bring in glow sticks, hula-hoops, especially the ones with LED lights, as well as small bags (no larger than 12″x12″). Festival totems or decorated pool noodles are allowed, as long as they’re not taller than 10 feet.

Day Trip Festival Announces 2023 Lineup For Third Edition

day trip festival will call

Insomniac Events has announced the lineup for Day Trip Festival 2023, set to take place in on June 24 & 25.

Day Trip Festival has announced its curated collection of legendary and up-and-coming artists set to perform this Summer during the festival’s third edition at Long Beach, CA’s Queen Mary Waterfront. More than 30 tastemakers within the electronic music space will come together on Saturday, June 24 and Sunday, June 25 to blast one of today’s most influential music styles on full display.

Nearly every artist on Day Trip Festival’s 2023 lineup has paved the way for house music’s infectious success, growing from the roots of the classic Chicago scene or emerging during the last few years of prominence with chart-topping tracks. Having originally gained international recognition in the early 1990s for “Show Me Love,” one of the most recognizable house music songs of all time, Robin S. will represent the roots of house music to the modern Day Trip audience, with Mr. V and Ron Carroll also on the lineup to make their contributions to that representation during their respective performances.

Known for paving the way with genre-blending sounds and unreleased ID’s, and of course, his unmatched mustache, mullet, and wild sunglasses game, Dom Dolla will take house music forward and into the future on the Day Trip stage. His latest recognizable releases, “Rhyme Dust,” “Gorillaz Remix,” and “Miracle Maker,” ensures a performance of only the highest caliber and energy for any crowd the modern face of house music plays to. The inimitable Duke Dumont follows his incredible Day Trip Seattle performance bringing with him an arsenal of classic house tinged weapons like “Need U 100%,” “I Got U,” and the always crowd favorite, “Ocean Drive.”

Performing together for the first time ever, Day Trip Festival will debut Nora En Pure b2b Tinlicker with a melodic house set sure to feature the deep melodies and progressive sounds both are known for. Day Trip Festival will also mark a very rare SoCal performance for Blond:ish, the “Sete” serial chart-topper and recent Madonna collaborator for the revival of “Sorry” on Insomniac Records.

All about Ashland Train Day: Virginia town's street festival and railroad extravaganza

day trip festival will call

ASHLAND, Va. -- Ashland Train Day, a free street festival and railroad extravaganza that celebrates the charming Virginia town's love of all things trains, is Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

"We want to make the tracks the center of the center of the universe. So we're surrounding the tracks with all of our railroad fun," Louise Keaton, the marketing director for Downtown Ashland Association, said.

For two decades, Ashland has celebrated its love for trains with the festival.

"Our entire downtown was built around these tracks in the 1800s," Keaton said. "We want to celebrate that history by sharing our history, by creating events like Ashland Day, and here at Downtown Ashland Association we're working towards the vitality of our downtown every day."

Downtown Ashland Association Marketing Director Louise Keaton

For the 20th anniversary of Ashland Train Day, visitors can expect to see more vendors, food trucks as well as some special attractions.

"We have railroad history thanks to the National Museum, the Hanover Black Heritage Society and the Haunted History Tours of Ashland," Keaton said. "We of course have Touch a Truck thanks to RCI Builders, so you can get a hands-on experience with your favorite vehicles."

There is a scavenger hunt, model trains for the kids, and new this year, a beer garden for the adults at the Hanover Arts and Activity Center.

"Our 20th anniversary is being celebrated by Amtrak with the Amtrak raffle to two tickets anywhere along the East Coast," Keaton said. "As well as by Sports Page Bar and Grill and Trackside Kitchen and Wine. They are the reason that today is entirely free."

Ashland Train Day

Registration for the Amtrak raffle is now open online. The winner will be announced on Train Day.

"One of the things we're most excited about is Children's Day, thanks to Los Regios. They are bringing the Mexican Children's Day traditions right here to Ashland just like they do every day through their store," Keaton said.

Teresa Lopez de Ocanas, who owns Los Regios said the store just celebrated its second anniversary.

I've been living here since 2010 and I love Train Day," Lopez de Ocanas said. "I love my town and I love to see all the trains. At first, believe me, when I moved here, I was like, 'Oh my God, trains!' You know all the sounds, but you [end up] loving your town that you know is full of trains during the day."

Ashland Train Day

And now her store, in partnership with the YMCA, is hosting the Children's Day Celebration with performances, entertainment and giveaways.

"We have more than 300 toys that we're gonna give away to all the kids that show up that day," she said. "We have a special bag full of candy and some of the information from you know, different stuff here in Ashland."

Street parking is available for Train Day, but there is also parking at three designated areas with free shuttle rides sponsored by Randolph Macon College.

"We also suggest that you go ahead and take the train into Ashland," Keaton encouraged. "So that way you can be dropped off right in the middle of all of the action without having to worry about parking at all."

More than 200 volunteers and first responders help make the free event such a success.

FOND DU LAC — Earth Day is April 22, and with Arbor Day on its heels April 26, Fond du Lac will celebrate both all week long.

From the Gottfried Prairie & Arboretum to the Niagara Escarpment , the natural world of Fond du Lac is often marveled, and area businesses and organizations take the spring season as an opportunity to highlight and educate about what the area has to offer.

This year, city officials, Arbor Acres and the Congregation of Sisters of St. Agnes have each planned ways to honor Earth Day and Arbor Day. Here's how Fond du Lac will celebrate the nature-focused holidays.

City celebrates Arbor Day April 26 with Roberts class planting annual tree

The City of Fond du Lac will honor Arbor Day at 1 p.m. April 26 at the Lakeside Park Pavilion, in a joint celebration with the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Fond du Lac Campus.

A Roberts Elementary School third-grade class will plant the Arbor Day tree on the park's west lakefront, courtesy of Festival Foods, which will also donate tree seedlings for the students.

Fond du Lac will also receive its 36th Tree City Award after meeting Tree City USA’s four requirements: maintaining a tree board or department, having a tree care ordinance, dedicating an annual community forestry budget of a least $2 per capita, and hosting an Arbor Day observance and proclamation.

UW Oshkosh's campus in Fond du Lac will receive the award for its fifth year of Tree Campus Higher Education status, contributing to UW Oshkosh being the only UW System school with all three of its campuses holding that status.

Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Urban Forestry Coordinator Olivia Witthun will present the awards on behalf of the National Arbor Day Foundation .

Arbor-Earth Day Festival with Arbor Acres and more returns for second year

Arbor Acres will host the Arbor-Earth Day Festival from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 27 on the north block of Main Street, between Merrill Avenue and Division Street.

The event includes a craft fair, yard games, brat fry, food trucks, drinks and live music, as well as a tree raffle benefiting Salute the Troops. The first-place prize is a Royal Raindrops Crab Apple from Midpark Nurseries Inc , including free planting from Arbor Acres.

Bay Lakes Council will host a sneaker drive at the festival, accepting new, gently used and good-condition sneakers that will be used for recycling and repurposing for those in need. Every pair donated will grant participants an entry for a chance to win a $250 Tree Work gift card from Arbor Acres.

CSA Earth Day Fair includes Earth-focused exhibitors and tours

The Congregation of Sisters of St. Agnes will host the Earth Day Fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 27 at Founders Hall at the motherhouse, 320 County Road K.

The fair will include several exhibitors showcasing how to "care for our common home," featuring Advocap, Fond du Lac County Audubon Society, Fond du Lac Bird City, Fond du Lac Public Library, Fond du Lac Wastewater Treatment & Resource Recovery Facility, Friends of Gottfried Prairie & Arboretum, Glacial Lakes Conservancy, Niagara Escarpment Resource Network and more.

New this year is a series of 45-minute presentations throughout the day, beginning at quarter past each hour and covering topics such as water treatment technologies, the Winnebago Wild Rice Revitalization Project, using eBird, the value of native plants and the Niagara Escarpment.

Tours of the property will be available, with guided tours including solar array tours, a bird walk and a two-hour in-depth tour of the land including the escarpment. Space will be limited for each, so online pre-registration is encouraged, but not required.

Self-guided tours are welcome, but visitors exploring the property will need to sign in at the registration desk in Founder's Hall and wear a visitor's badge while on the grounds. CSA will ask visitors to stay on pathways and remember to take only pictures and leave only footprints.

The Big Blue Yummy food truck will be on site 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and a raffle will feature prizes of sustainable household products and gifts, including birdhouses, a fairy house, a native plant starter pack and an Atkinson Farm Basket.

Stagecoach 2024: What you need to know before heading out to the three-day country festival

A pr. 24—The Stagecoach Country Music Festival is making its way to the Empire Polo Club in Indio following both weekends of its sister event, the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, on April 26-28.

The three-day country festival includes headliners Eric Church, Miranda Lambert and Morgan Wallen, supported by acts such as Post Malone, Jelly Roll, Hardy, Willie Nelson & Family, Bailey Zimmerman, Leon Bridges, Diplo, Dwight Yoakam, the Beach Boys, Wiz Khalifa, Carin León and more.

As fans head out with cowboy boots and hats in tow, here's what you need to know before embarking to Stagecoach.

The lineup shows diversity

Stagecoach remains steadfast as a fortress of country music, butt this year it embraces the evolution of the genre and the rich tapestry of diversity within it. And with big names like Wiz Khalifa and Post Malone, whose set is billed as a "special set of country covers," it just works.

Carin León, the Regional Mexican sensation, returns to the grounds of Indio following back-to-back weekend performances at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. Hailing from Hermosillo, Mexico, León passionately advocates that the essence of the genre transcends geographical boundaries, transforming into a national celebration, a sentiment echoed by his Stagecoach debut. While León is the sole Spanish-language performer on the lineup, he is not alone in representing Latin talent. Wyatt Flores, the Oklahoma-raised Mexican-American country crooner, is set to play on Friday.

And for the devoted Beyoncé fans, there's a possibility that the R&B megastar might grace this year's Stagecoach with her presence. This speculation arises from the inclusion of three female artists featured on her latest country venture, "Cowboy Carter," in the festival lineup.

Among them is Tanner Adell, an emerging singer-songwriter whose recent album "Black Bunny" dropped last year. Adell's soulful voice resonates on "Blackbiird," a track featuring three other prominent Black women in the country music sphere. Adell will perform on the Mane Stage at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 27.

Another noteworthy name from the "Cowboy Carter" collaboration is Brittney Spencer, whose debut album "My Stupid Life" dropped this year. Spencer will hit the Palomino Stage at 1:55 p.m. on Sunday, April 28.

Grammy-winning soul and blues rocker Leon Bridges will perform at the Palomino Stage at 7:25 p.m. on Saturday, April 27.

Adding to the festival's allure is the husband-and-wife duo, The War and Treaty, Grammy-nominated for their soulful blend of folk, country and blues. Fans can expect a double dose as they grace the Mane Stage at 3:20 p.m. on Sunday, April 28, followed by a special performance at the Bud Light Backyard stage at 6:10 p.m.

Expansion and moves

After experiencing a complete overhaul of stages and layout last year, fans encountered unforeseen challenges as areas designated for blankets and chairs encroached upon traditional walkways. Acknowledging these concerns, the festival organizers are reverting to the familiar layout that fans have come to anticipate, ensuring a smoother and more enjoyable experience for all.

This year, the cherished Nikki Lane Stage Stop Marketplace bids farewell to the Stagecoach grounds. Established in 2018, the marketplace was a treasure trove of vintage discoveries and country-inspired apparel from small vendors nationwide. Notably, the marketplace also housed Lane's curated Horseshoe Stage, where unexpected surprise guests such as Lana Del Rey would perform alongside Lane.

Activations and Activities

Even though Lane's Stage Stop Marketplace is out of business this year, the festival will be providing a flea market of the same style where fans can walk through a line of vendors locations southeast of the Beer Barn near the Compton Cowboys. The market will have everything from boots to wallet buckles and more.

The Compton Cowboys, a group of friends who use horseback riding to create a safe space for inner-city youth, will be back at Stagecoach with horse demonstrations by the Beer Barn.

Guy Fieri's Stagecoach Smokehouse will also be back, deemed a fan favorite attraction. The smokehouse includes barbecue pitmasters from across the country. Of course, he'll have his usual cooking demonstrations with free samples. He'll be joined by Jelly Roll, Clint Black, Diplo, Hardy and Bailey Zimmerman.

The Shein Saloon will be in full swing once again and fans can giddy up with free Western fit essential accessories like cowboy hats and glittered fanny packs. The saloon will also have photo opps with a mirrored bull and even time for cowboy karaoke throughout the day.

And if children are coming to the festival, bring their little boots by the Half-Pint Hootenanny for an air-conditioned space featuring games like an air hockey table, giant jenga and bowling, along with arts and crafts.

There are bright paintings, mosaics, stained glass, bronze statues… Our Moscow metro tour includes the most impressive stations best architects and designers worked at - Ploshchad Revolutsii, Mayakovskaya, Komsomolskaya, Kievskaya, Novoslobodskaya and some others.

What is the kremlin in russia?

The guide will not only help you navigate the metro, but will also provide you with fascinating background tales for the images you see and a history of each station.

And there some stories to be told during the Moscow metro tour! The deepest station - Park Pobedy - is 84 metres under the ground with the world longest escalator of 140 meters. Parts of the so-called Metro-2, a secret strategic system of underground tunnels, was used for its construction.

During the Second World War the metro itself became a strategic asset: it was turned into the city's biggest bomb-shelter and one of the stations even became a library. 217 children were born here in 1941-1942! The metro is the most effective means of transport in the capital.
