Taylor Swift 's epic Eras Tour stunt has been explained. Fans were left in awe when the 31-year-old singer appeared to dive off the stage during her stadium tour, a seemingly impossible feat that now has a logical explanation.

According to video obtained by concertgoer Carolina Guzman, Swift pulls off the move with the help of an inflatable airbag. In the video, a portion of the stage opens in front of Swift. The opening is initially lit red as the airbag is blown up, but turns green as soon as it's ready for Swift to dive in.

To fans, what follows is Swift swimming underneath the stage, before emerging on the other side in a new outfit. In actuality, the singer is likely rushed underground amid a quick change before she pops back up onstage to continue the show.

Swift kicked off her tour last month in Glendale, Arizona, by telling fans, "I don’t know how to process all of this in the way that it’s making me feel right now. We have a lot of time for me to try to sum up how I’m feeling about how much I've missed you and how happy I am to see you. Let me just start by saying you guys are making me feel fantastic!"

During her Las Vegas, Nevada, show later that month, fans were treated to a surprise guest when Marcus Mumford joined Swift onstage to sing her 2020 track, "Cowboy Like Me." Ahead of Mumford's appearance, Swift revealed that she recorded the song at his home studio, and it was there that she asked him to contribute to the track.

"We're recording a song and he wanders in at the perfect time, and just kind of started humming a harmony, and I sort of turned to him as if I hadn't been thinking of it the whole time," Swift said. "I turned to him, and I was like, 'Oh, you sound really good on that harmony, wonder if maybe, you might sing on this song?' And he was like, 'Yup, would love to.'"

The next month, Selena Gomez attended one of Swift's concerts with her little sister, Gracie Teefey. During the show, Swift gave Teefey her hat from the stage, and the 9-year-old responded by handing over a friendship bracelet to the singer. Watch the video below for more on the sisters' night out together.

How does Taylor Swift "swim" under the stage on The Eras Tour? Here's how she likely pulls off that incredible transition on stage.

Listen to this article

I don't know about you, but I can't stop watching all those videos of Taylor Swift diving into the stage on The Eras Tour.

Taylor's Eras Tour kicked off on March 17th with an incredible 44-song setlist and some of the most impressive staging and production that we've ever seen on a Taylor Swift tour.

One of those moments that fans can't stop speaking about happens just before Taylor begins to perform the final Midnights section of the show. If you've seen the countless videos shared by fans, you'll know the exact moment we're talking about. Yep, it's the moment when Taylor dives into the stage and "swims" under it.

The incredible tour transition has now gone viral on TikTok with many fans wondering exactly how she manages to pull it off. Based on videos from the show, and what Taylor has previously shared about the behind-the-scenes logistics of her Reputation Stadium Tour, here's how it likely works.

How does Taylor Swift "swim" under the stage on The Eras Tour?

Taylor Swift&squot;s

After singing her acoustic surprise songs at the end of the catwalk, Taylor slowly walks to an opening in the stage and dives underneath. Literally. She literally goes headfirst, fearless.

After she disappears into the stage, the screens on the catwalk, which are changed to look like the ocean, then show a video of Taylor swimming back to the main stage. Once she reaches the end, Taylor emerges out of the waves and begins to climb a ladder that leads to a cloud where she starts the final Midnights section of the show.

It's easily one of the most spectacular moments of the entire concert. And if the TikTok videos are anything to go by, it's probably even more mesmerising in person, too.

How Taylor dives into the stage. 1. A part of the stage opens up to reveal a section underneath the stage. 2. Taylor gets prepared to jump, as you can see, there is a red light which signals for her not to jump yet. 3. Taylor jumps when the light turns green. pic.twitter.com/B8LOZzPwkW — Jacnights (Taylor’s Version) ✨ (@jacnights13) March 19, 2023

The exact logistics of how Taylor gets from the end of the catwalk to the main stage haven't been revealed just yet, but based on the behind-the-scenes glimpses of her previous tours, we kind of have an idea of how it probably works.

Captured by fans who were sat higher up and in the middle of the stadium, you can see that there's a light system in place around the edge of the opening that lets Taylor know when it's safe to dive.

The light flashes green and Taylor jumps into the hole, presumably landing on to big crash mat or dropping into a foam pit. (Again, the exact details of that part of the transition have not been confirmed yet.) She then pops back up in the middle of the stage just over one minute later, in a different costume, ready to perform 'Lavender Haze'.

Fans are now assuming that she uses the same Rocket Sled technique that she used for the Reputation Stadium Tour.

Back in 2018, Taylor showed the under-stage Rocket Sled off to fans on Instagram, which allows her to whizz from stage to stage within seconds and have time to change costume before jumping back on stage.

Another fun detail about the "swimming" moment? The animation of Taylor swimming also changes each night based on what colour dress she's wearing when she dives into the pit. On night one, she wore red, and on night two, she wore green.

Of course, we'll have to wait for Taylor to give us an official behind-the-scenes glimpse of the moment to know how she actually pulls it off, and whether the iconic Rocket Sled is back for another tour.

Until then, we'll be rewatching the moment over and over again on TikTok.

There were many other stunning moments throughout the concert that left Swifties reeling, from Tay’s sexy “Vigilante Shit” dance routine to her calling out Evermore critics, but the unexpected dive was definitely one of the big standouts. Taylor Swift Surprises Concertgoers by Diving from Stage During Eras Tour: 'Queen of Swimming'

The moment led fans to tease that the Grammy winner was "now searching for that swimming olympic medal"

dive eras tour

Taylor Swift is adding long-distance swimming to her long list of new skills.

While kicking off her Eras Tour over the weekend in Glendale, Arizona, the Grammy winner, 33, surprised concertgoers when she dove into the stage during one of her musical sequences, disappearing into the floor.

Viewers captured the moment, sharing videos of the special effect on social media.

In the clips, Swift — wearing a floor-length, ruffled dress — dives into a square-shaped hole on stage. After the dive, graphics on the stage show Swift swimming underwater back toward the main stage.

The sequence ends with Swift disappearing underwater as a huge wave splashes over the large screen, sending ripples throughout the stage. Once the wave dissipates, the "Lavender Haze" singer magically appears in a new outfit on the screen, climbing her way up a ladder to the clouds.

Fans have been sharing their praise for the "creative" moment online, one person commenting on Twitter, "that's a special effect genius" and another complimenting Swift on the "great transition" into her Midnights era.

Some even quoted lines from her previous songs to describe the moment with one fan writing on TikTok, "she really said head first, fearless." Another fan teased that they couldn't "believe she held her breath under water for that long!" while another jokingly commented that she was "now searching for that swimming olympic medal."

" Queen of swimming ," one boasted.

Big brands also commented on the moment on TikTok, with Too Faced commenting, "WOWWWWW" and Amazon Music writing, "Taylor said we could all come over and play mermaids."

Swift's dive off the stage is the latest moment from her Eras Tour to go viral. Earlier this week, her hair-defying performance during her song "I Knew You Were Trouble" sparked several comments and memes.

After a handful of outfit changes, the static caused by the fabric, fog machines and performance made the musician's blonde strands stand up straight while she was singing the hit song, which several fans recorded and posted online.

The official Taylor Swift : The Eras Tour Twitter page even made light of the moment by tweeting, " ELECTRO TAYLOR ."

Taylor Swift has gone viral for her headfirst dive on stage this weekend, during the first two nights of her “Eras Tour ”.

On Friday, Swift kicked off her highly-anticipated tour, centred on all 10 of her albums, at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. Throughout her performance, she took part in some show-stopping transitions, to portray her switch from her different “eras,” each of which represented one of her albums.

More specifically, footage from the second night of her tour, shared on Twitter , showed the singer walking towards the edge of the stage, while the noises of a swimming pool played in the background.

As she finished performing the song “Tim McGraw”, from her 2006 debut album, she approached the main section of the catwalk. She then jumped off, headfirst, and disappeared from the crowd.

The floor continued to light up and display a clip of the “Anti-Hero” singer swimming, in order to showcase this seemingly smooth transition into a new “era”. The change prompted gasps and applause from concert attendees, as the visuals on the stage showcased a wave in the ocean.

From there, Swift appeared back on stage, where she walked up a ladder that led to a display of clouds. The ladder continued to lift her up into the props.

Her dancers then brought props back onto the stage, before Swift popped out from the cloud and began to sing “Lavender Haze,” which is the first song from her most recent album, Midnights . Her performance also included references to her album, as she wore a purple fluffy coat and stood next to a bed with purple sheets.

Footage on Twitter from Friday’s concert also showed Swift doing this transition again, while wearing a green dress.

On social media, fans have expressed how stunned they were to see Swift dive into the stage and applauded the transition.

“The dive was the craziest thing I’ve ever seen. I was so caught off guard LMAO,” one fan tweeted.

“EXCUSE ME TAYLOR SWIFT JUST DID A DIVE HEAD FIRST INTO THE STAGE WHAT,”

A third fan shared a video of the concert on TikTok and wrote: “The most impressive moment from @taylorswift ‘s #theerastour night one was when she leapt into a hole in the ground.”

Other fans in the comments of the TikTok clip have poked fun at Swift’s jump off of the stage.

“She really said head first, fearless,” one wrote, referring to the lyrics of one of Swift’s songs.

“I can’t believe she held her breath underwater for that long!” another joked.

Some fans used this transition to poke fun at the viral Ticketmaster fiasco that fans faced to get concert tickets, one of which wrote: “She really said I’m gonna make all this ticket drama worth your while.”

Last year, the Ticketmaster website crashed when pre-sale tickets for Swift’s tour went live. At the time, many fans then took to Twitter to complain about the fact that they didn’t get tickets after spending hours in the queue . Swift then shared her take on the situation in a post to Instagram Stories, as she stated that she’s very “protective” of her fans .

“It’s really difficult for me to trust an outside entity with these relationships and loyalties, and excruciating for me to just watch mistakes happen with no recourse,” she wrote. “It’s truly amazing that 2.4million people got tickets, but it really p***es me off that a lot of them feel like they went through several bear attacks to get them.”

Over the weekend, Swift kicked off her first US tour in five years. Throughout these first two opening nights, she brought fans back the beginning of her career, including a song from her first album that was released in 2006.

Each of her two shows in Arizona were about three hours and 15 minutes, with a 44-song setlist.

Taylor Swift’s ‘Eras Tour’ Stage Dive Has Become A Mystery Over What She’s Landing On

Lexi Lane

Taylor Swift has been through a couple cities on her massive Eras Tour already — and there’s a lot of moments that have become a mainstay in the (over) three-hour concert. One of which is Swift’s stage dive that takes place just after her surprise song section, which finds her playing two selections that aren’t already on the traditional setlist. Once it’s over, she wanders the stage, taking in the crowd, before abruptly diving down into a gap that opens in the floor.

I GOT THE DIVE ON CAMERA #TSTheErasTour pic.twitter.com/4nPgYVlyD9 — Taylor Swift News 🤍 (@TSwiftNZ) March 19, 2023

The first night Swift played in Arizona, many fans were perplexed by the sudden movement. And even more so as it makes it look like she’s swimming underwater back to the standard stage from the catwalk. (She’s not.)

So, how does she do it? Some fans have wondered if she lands in an inflatable mat or slide, as any sort of dive to a backstage area would easily need something to safely protect her landing. Others have tried shooting videos from different angles just as attempts to see what’s under there.

I’m rating this one a 1300/10. She REALLY jumped in head first fearless. 🫶 #ArlingtonTSTheErasTour pic.twitter.com/Jo8UBwBPvY — kennedy 🩵 eras NOLA n2 (@swiftlykennedy) April 3, 2023

In one video, the space where Swift dives can be seen shifting from red (as in stop, not Taylor’s Version ) to green, signaling that it’s safe for her to land. There is also some sort of striped inflatable being moved around down there, although it’s still unclear whether that is a slide or just a mat.

Taylor Swift performs in Arlington, Texas as part of the 'Eras' tour

A Deep Dive Into Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour Setlist

Image of Lauren Coates

So, you’ve done the impossible: you got tickets to Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour. You got the presale code, you suffered through Ticketmaster buffering , and you spent a chunk of change on the chance to see a 12-time Grammy-winner tear up the stage of your local arena. At long last, after a nearly five-year break from touring, Taylor Swift has set off on the first leg of her Eras Tour —which also means the setlist is finally out. When Swift first announced the theme of her tour would be Eras—a sprawling performance that would seemingly feature tracks from every album or “era”—fans were over the moon at the possibility of hearing all their old favorites as well as newer Taylor deep cuts.

Now that Swift has set off on her tour, we know exactly which songs did and didn’t make the cut. But if you’re looking to make a playlist of the setlist so as to be the most prepared, it’s not quite that simple: As with all elements of Swift’s performance styles, her setlist is a complicated production. Clocking in at a whopping three hours and 14 minutes, the opening night of the Eras Tour featured a setlist of 44 songs from across all 10 of Swift’s albums. Luckily, countless Twitter users have condensed the lengthy setlist into a convenient chart; this one from Twitter user @kissesofgaga gives a color-coded breakdown of the Glendale set from night one of the tour:

As seen in the graphic, the Eras Tour breaks the setlist down by album. Instead of jumping around from era to era for each song, Swift’s setlist (for the most part) features a designated chunk of tracks from each album, dedicating time to each “era” before checking it off the list and moving on to the next one. It isn’t as simple as four songs from each album, though—some entries in her discography nabbed more spots than others. It should come as no surprise that her newest album, Midnights , features the most songs with seven tracks total, including singles “Anti-Hero” and “Bejeweled.” The big shocker, though, was the attention devoted to her ninth album, Evermore —a pandemic release with a somber folk sound that many fans claimed was Swift’s “least favorite” album.

Fans believed that because Swift didn’t frequently acknowledge the album on social media, it wasn’t a particular favorite of hers, but come opening night, Swift showed Evermore plenty of love. Not only did she play five tracks from the album, but she also took the time to call out her supposed dislike for it in an intro:

TAYLOR ONCE AGAIN BEATING THE EVERMORE REJECTED CHILD ALLEGATIONS pic.twitter.com/l0rI1zKrUi — c ? (@celestialswiftt) March 19, 2023

The other big shocker for fans when it came to the breakdown of songs-per-album was the lack of Speak Now and Debut tracks: Swift’s beloved third album is anticipated as the next volume in her discography to be re-recorded as “Taylor’s Version,” but only one song from Speak Now made it into the Eras tour setlist: “Enchanted.” Her debut album also only nabbed one spot on the list with “Tim McGraw”— another snub that surprised fans, especially with the chart success and fan support for tracks like “Our Song,” “Teardrops On My Guitar.” and “Picture To Burn.”

But the biggest surprise of the night was Swift’s revelation that each stop on the tour would feature a unique “secret surprise song.” According to Swift, her aim is to play a different song at each show, with the intention to never repeat a song unless she flubs a performance so severely she feels like she needs to give it another shot. She also noted that the surprise song would be played acoustically—so regardless of original production, fans can look forward to a low-key guitar arrangement. The night one secret surprise song was fan-favorite “Mirrorball” off Folklore , and night two’s was “This Is Me Trying” off Evermore , and “State of Grace (Taylor’s Version)” off Red (Taylor’s Version ).

Fans were also quick to point out that the only other difference between the night one and night two setlists is that “Tim McGraw” was only played on night one. It’s possible that “Tim McGraw” was considered another secret surprise song, and won’t be played again.

?| Taylor Swift will perform a special SECRET song unique to every show at ‘The Eras Tour’ that she will not re-perform again! The special song for opening night is “mirrorball” from “folklore”! pic.twitter.com/npHtWWmxq5 — The Eras Tour (@tswifterastour) March 18, 2023

Last but certainly not least, there’s the openers: Swift has nine different openers announced for the various stops on the Eras tour, and each performance will feature a certain combination of artists, some more frequent than others. The tour kicked off with Paramore and GAYLE opening for Swift in Glendale—though GAYLE will continue on for a total of 15 opening shows, Paramore’s run concluded with the Glendale performances. beabadoobee joins GAYLE in Las Vegas, before MUNA takes over for a night in Arlington, Texas. The remainder of the Arlington shows feature openers beabadoobee and Gracie Abrams, who reunite for the Tampa, Houston, and Atlanta shows. Phoebe Bridgers opens all three Nashville shows, joined by Gracie Abrams on nights one and three, and GAYLE on night two. Bridgers and GAYLE reunite in Philadelphia for two shows, before Abrams swaps with GAYLE for the third performance—a pattern repeated for the shows in Foxborough, MA.

UM. Looks like I’ll get to see more of your beautiful faces than previously expected… we’re adding 8 shows to the tour ? https://t.co/KFuqvr0hhO pic.twitter.com/4LTYSnwKJO — Taylor Swift (@taylorswift13) November 4, 2022

Bridgers ends her time on the tour in New Jersey, featuring openers GAYLE, Gracie Abrams, and newcomer OWENN. OWENN is then joined by girl in red for a pair of shows in Chicago, before MUNA and Gracie Abrams close out the third night of Chicago shows. girl in red plays both shows in Detroit, joined by Gracie Abrams the first night and OWENN the second—a pattern that repeats in Pittsburgh and Minneapolis. MUNA and Gracie Abrams then open a string of shows: Cincinnati, Kansas City, and Denver. HAIM then joins Gracie Abrams for the final leg of the tour in Seattle and Santa Clara, as well as the first and fourth Los Angeles shows, with OWENN taking Abrams’ post on night two. The tour is closed out by HAIM and GAYLE, who play nights three and five of the tour.

So, as a final overview: the Eras Tour setlist is broken up into album-by-album chunks with six songs off Lover , three from Fearless , five from Evermore , four from Reputation , and the single off Speak Now . Red (Taylor’s Version ) gets four tracks (including the 10-minute version of All Too Well ), then Folklore ‘s lengthy seven-song run, which is followed by five tracks off of 1989 . After 1989 is when we get the special secret songs that change at every performance. So far, it looks like Taylor is performing two per show. After the secret songs, we wrap up with seven tracks from Midnights , and three-plus hours later, that’s the Eras tour.

Whether your favorite album was snubbed (justice for Speak Now! ) or got plenty of love, the setlist for the Eras tour has an impressive roster of deep cuts, chart-toppers, and new hits to please virtually any flavor of Swiftie—and soon, it’s coming to a city near you.

From a mystifying stage dive to a delightfully distracted security guard named 'Pocket,' these are the most viral moments from Taylor Swift's Eras Tour

  • Standout moments from the long-awaited Eras Tour are making the rounds on TikTok.
  • Swift has also gone on a 'liking' spree, giving her approval to several viral clips from her fans.
  • Swift's stage dive has particularly captivated people, with some puzzled by how it was done, and others saying she took the idea from SZA.

Insider Today

Taylor Swift's Eras Tour is five days old, but the 44-song extravaganza  is already dominating certain corners of social media.

Standout moments from the show, both planned and not, are being dissected on TikTok — including one mind-bending moment where Swift appears to dive under-stage.

The singer herself has gone on a TikTok "liking" spree, bestowing her stamp of approval to a handful of viral videos, including one of an attendee who appears to enter a fugue state after the show, her face stained with mascara tears and awaiting an encore in the empty stadium.

Here are some of the tour's most  hair-raising moments  on social media so far:

1. A confounding and visually mesmerizing stage dive

@popculturefreakk THE PRODUCTIONN #taylorswift #theerastour #tstherastour #fyp ♬ original sound - ★

Following a piano performance during the show, Swift, wearing a flowy gown, appears to dive into the stage as we hear a loud splashing sound. It's an effect that has left many mystified: "The way she resorted to straight witchcraft for this tour," one commenter joked.

Some fashioned hilarious memes out of the moment, showcasing the singer's exquisite diving skills over the years. Others, however, raised a critical eye, noting that SZA employed a  similar effect during her own tour in which it looked like she was leaping off of a ledge and into the ocean.

But users mostly tried to figure out how the effect was achieved. One creator unearthed a video from Swift's 2018 "Reputation" tour, where she showed viewers a cushioned pad called a " rocket sled " quickly transported her to different locations under the stage. Some conspiracies even surmised that she used a stunt double for the dive.

2. Swift actually did the viral "Bejeweled" dance

@mikaelarellano I BARELY SLEPT!!! #taylorswift #swiftie #swifttok #theerastour #bejeweled ♬ Screaming crying throwing up Blank Space edit - Cowboy Han

Many Swifties have a soft spot for Mikael Arellano, whose signature TikTok dances to tracks like " Bejeweled " have gone viral for their articulate miming and unbridled joy.

When it came time for Swift to perform "Bejeweled" at "Eras," many fans — including Arellano — were stunned to see that she incorporated his signature dance. The pop star was seen doing the iconic strut to the lyric, "I can still make the whole place shimmer."

Arellano shared a video of himself reacting to the moment that's gained 9.4 million views. Commenters hoped he could get a shout-out for it on the tour, and some even suggested that Swift bring him onstage at a future stop.

"You better have choreographer for Taylor Swift on your resume my king," one person wrote. Another added: "You need to be payed [sic] I'm serious."

3. TikTokers are smitten by 'Pocket' the security guard

@jayandyevans Our security guard named Pocket gave hugs and is a 1989 girlie through and through. #glendaletstheerastour #theerastour #glendaletstheerastour #taylorswift ♬ original sound - Jay

The "Eras" tour is apparently so enrapturing that even event staff are shirking their responsibilities. An elderly security guard at one of the Glendale, Arizona shows was captured dancing up a storm singing along, with barely an eye to crowd management. One fan's viral video of the staffer (which has been viewed over 11.6 million times) said her name is Pocket.

People have been absolutely delighted by Pocket. Attendees who said they were seated near her reported that she "gave hugs and is a 1989 girlie through and through."

Many fans called the staffer "iconic," and others joked that they, too, wanted to apply for a security job on the Eras Tour. "When Ticketmaster fails you and you apply to work at the stadium," one Swiftie commented.

4. An unfortunate but relatable moment for the singer's hair

@gerrrrrry27 her hair lol💀… No its Ashley 😹 @Taylor Swift #theerastour #taylorswift ♬ original sound - Gerrrrrrald

Swift is typically the picture of perfection and composure, without so much as a hair out of place. That made it all the more shocking when, at one point during the tour, Swift's blonde mane stood on end due to static electricity, jutting eerily out of her head.

Static frizz  is caused by dry conditions when little water is in the air to absorb excess electrons. When these electrons can't be discharged, the hair strands repel one another, which is what causes the static frizz. One can only assume that's what's happened here — and when she's been performing in dryer climates in Arizona.

One fan's shot of her hair has been viewed over 13 million times. "I think her hair just realized she was Taylor Swift," a top commenter wrote.

Some joked that the effect made Swift look like an axolotl, which are adorable amphibians that have feathery gills sticking out of their heads.

"She's never been more relatable," one commenter wrote. "I cackled," added another, "with respect for mother though."

Taylor Swift’s Stage Dive During The Eras Tour Went Viral On TikTok And Now An Olympic Swimmer Has Commented On It

Taylor Swift must have the stamina of an Olympic swimmer to pull off The Eras Tour.

Taylor Swift in the Lavender Haze music video with koi fish in the background.

Not only did Taylor Swift blow Swifities and the internet away with her three hour concert that encapsulates all her eras , she also shocked them by literally stage diving into the stage during her set. Now, after the moment went viral on TikTok, Olympic swimmer Katie Ledecky commented on the singer’s dive and “swim” down the stage, and it was perfect.

Fans were shook when Taylor Swift casually dove into her stage during The Eras Tour. After the shocking moment, the "Lavender Haze" singer emerged at the other end of the stage, in a completely different costume, and entered her Midnights era. There are tons of other videos of the moment from the first two nights of the Eras Tour, and this TikTok from popculturefreakk has well over 8 million views, showing just how many Swifties were baffled by the singer's little "swim" downstage.

@popculturefreakk ♬ original sound - ★

The moment went viral on TikTok, along with many other moments from her show, like her doing the “Bejewled” dance . News outlets started posting stories about the dive, and wrote about fans freaking out. Now a record-holding, gold medal-winning Olympic swimmer is getting in on the discourse by commenting on the singer’s viral stage dive. Katie Ledecky retweeted a story on Twitter about Swift's dive and swim, noting the singer's impressive stamina:

Three-hour shows. @taylorswift13 is definitely a distance swimmer. https://t.co/eRqwpxrfpt March 21, 2023

Katie Ledecky knows a thing or two about long-distance swimming, considering she has seven gold medals from the Olympics and 19 world championship gold medals. So, when the queen of swimming praises Taylor Swift’s dive, swimming and stamina you know what the singer did is impressive.

What Taylor Swift has managed to do with The Eras Tour is truly impressive, and requires the kind of stamina she’d need to actually swim across her stage. For those who managed to nab a ticket during the Ticketmaster fiasco and attended the opening shows in Arizona, they witnessed a three-hour set that included 44 songs. Said set was made up of tunes from each of her eras and she had specific props, sets, costumes and choreography for every album. So yeah, I think Ledecky has a point, Taylor Swift is the equivalent of a distance swimmer in the world of music, and if touring were an Olympic sport, this singer would have many gold medals by now.

Along with her stage dive, many other moments from Swift’s show (both from her and the audience) have left fans both impressed and shook. From catching Laura Dern and Emma Stone jamming out at the concert to some people witnessing a marriage proposal during the show there have been tons of fun moments that have gone wicked viral. However, Swift’s performance is what fans are truly stunned by, including this iconic stage dive.

Luckily, Swifties will have a chance to see Taylor Swift’s physical feat of a tour as she continues to travel the country putting on her three-hour show that covers all her current albums and possibly teases the “Anti-Hero” singer’s upcoming projects .

Taylor Swift Shocks Fans With Stage Dive Song Transition During First Stop of Eras Tour (Video)

  • Oops! Something went wrong. Please try again later. More content below

Taylor Swift enchanted 70,000 fans at the opening night of her Eras Tour with elaborate set pieces, costumes and choreography — especially with a transition in which she appeared to jump then fall from the stage at State Farm Stadium and swim underneath it.

In one of many viral videos taken at the Glendale, Arizona show on Friday, the star made a splashy exit between the songs “Tim McGraw” and “Lavender Haze.” Following a piano performance of the hit song from her self-titled debut album, Swift strutted downstage in a red sparkling dress and seemed to dive into the pit below, disappearing from view with a cannonball sound. (A fan can be heard screaming “What the f—k?” in the background.)

Seconds later, footage of Swift swimming in the dress materialized on the backdrop and catwalk before an enormous tidal wave consumed the screen. The digital wave crested to reveal Swift in full “Midnights” mode, sitting on a purple bed in a T-shirt and leggings. She then climbed a ladder that disappeared into a rising cloud. Below, a doorway opened, and out marched backup dancers wheeling out more clouds. When they reached the edge of the catwalk, Swift rose out of a platform from the stage and started singing “Lavender Haze,” the first track from her newest album “Midnights.”

Advanced — one might even say mind-boggling — production values were the norm at the concert, which spanned a whopping 44 songs from all 10 albums in her discography. (At three hours and 11 minutes, this is her longest tour runtime following “Reputation’s” 19 songs in two hours, according to fans .)

Other sets that fans captured on social media included a moss-covered house recalling her 2021 Grammys performance, a long dining room table for “Tolerate It,” a mystical forest and elaborate scaffolding for her rendition of “The Man.” Many of the sets seamlessly intertwined digital and practical designs, though Swift also performed acoustic versions of some songs on the piano or guitar.

After a second night in Glendale — which temporarily changed its name to “Swift City” — the national tour will hit Las Vegas before traveling to the South, East, Midwest and finally the West. She’ll wrap up the 52-show tour with five nights at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium. No international dates have been announced.

The tour crashed Ticketmaster after a record-breaking two million tickets were sold on the first day. Citing “high demands” and “insufficient” inventory, the online platform canceled the second day of sales, prompting a congressional hearing and calls for an investigation into Live Nation and Ticketmaster’s joint monopoly over the live music industry.

Swift later posted on social media that it was “excrutiating” to “watch mistakes happen with no recourse.”

“I’m not going to make excuses for anyone because we asked [Ticketmaster], multiple times, if they could handle this kind of demand and we were assured they could. It’s truly amazing that 2.4 million people got tickets, but it really pisses me off that a lot of them feel like they went through several bear attacks to get them,” she wrote. “And to those who didn’t get tickets, all I can say is that my hope is to provide more opportunities for us to all get together and sing these songs. Thank you for wanting to be there. You have no idea how much that means.”

What is the Eras Tour set list?

The Eras Tour has featured a massive 45-song set list you can check out here . But speculation is swirling it won't look the same when Swift takes the stage in Paris.

Will Taylor Swift add 'The Tortured Poets Department' to her set list?

The tortured poet has been on hiatus keeping her stamina up by releasing a double album of 31 tracks. The 2-hours-and-2-minutes project broke a number of Billboard records as the superstar did zero press to promote it. Fans flocked to stores and streaming services to listen to all the songs from "Fortnight" to "The Manuscript."

Although the singer has not confirmed whether her 11th era album will be added to her Eras Tour set list, she did post a YouTube shorts video with two scenes that sent Easter egg decoders into a frenzy. In one of the shots, the singer is next to a railing where a "TTPD" logo appears to be (at 0:11). In the succeeding shot, her back-up dancers perform holding canes and wearing top hats, something they have not worn previously.

Swift's dancers and bandmates posted to their Instagram stories as they left for France last week. The singer did not appear at two media events with her boyfriend Travis Kelce: the Kentucky Derby and a Formula 1 race in Miami , Florida. Patrick Mahomes, Kelce's friend and Kansas City's quarterback, attended the car racing spectacular with his wife, Brittany.

Can I still get Eras Tour tickets?

Swift's show is completely sold out in Europe and North America. There are resale sites with tickets, but be wary of scams. The best way to avoid getting swindled is continuously checking links on Swift's website . There are some for resale on the sites verified by her camp.

Singapore was a hotbed for fans who traveled thousands of miles only to get turned away at the venue. In Tokyo and Australia, last-minute ticket drops happened a few days — without announcement — ahead of the shows.

Miami, New Orleans and Indianapolis — the three U.S. cities Swift is visiting in the fall — have some of the heftiest price tags with Canada closely behind. In may be cheaper to travel to Warsaw, Poland, or Gelsenkirchen, Germany. Here's a list of cities with the cheapest resale tickets, according to travel website  Islands.com .

Who are the opening acts?

Paramore launched the Eras Tour in Glendale, Arizona, in March 2023, so it's fitting the American rock band is opening the tour's second year. The act will open for Swift for 51 shows across Europe . The band was dubbed the 2024 Record Store Day global ambassador and surprised fans in Nashville the weekend following the release of "The Tortured Poets Department."

When the tour comes back to North America in October , Swift's opening act will be Gracie Abrams.

Where can I watch if I don't have tickets?

The Eras Tour is one of the first tours that has been followed, globally, by thousands of fans on digital platforms. Fans dedicate part of their concert experience to livestreaming as Swift performs. A few Swifties have learned how to host their own shows over social media including Tess Bohne , known as the livestream queen. Bohne goes live for (almost) every show pulling streams from Instagram and TikTok. When a livestream goes down, she fills the time with banter.

On YouTube, user @TaylorSwiftHockeyBro also livestreams the three-hour show, and on Twitch, @folkleric , is a host fans follow.

There is also an app, Swift Alert , that notifies fans who only want to watch certain eras like the acoustic, surprise set. The app sends out push alerts if there are any major announcements.

What secret songs are left?

For the past 83 shows, Swift has played an acoustic set she customizes at each stop with a guitar and piano performance. In 2024, the Eras Tour star added mashups of her songs for each stop. Here are the songs she has yet to perform:

  • "Taylor Swift" (debut album): "Mary's Song" and "A Perfectly Good Heart"
  • "Fearless": "The Way I Loved You," "Change," "Superstar," "We Were Happy," "That's When," "Don't You" and "Bye Bye Baby"
  • "Red": "Girl At Home," "Ronan," "Forever Winter" and "Run"
  • "1989": "Sweeter Than Fiction"
  • "Reputation": "I Did Something Bad"
  • "Lover": "London Boy," "Soon You'll Get Better" and "It's Nice to Have a Friend"
  • "Folklore": "Hoax"
  • "Evermore": "Happiness" and "Closure"
  • "Midnights": "Paris" and "Glitch"
  • "The Tortured Poets Department": all 31 tracks

Will Taylor Swift perform in 2025?

There have been many rumors that Swift will continue her show in 2025, but they are only rumors. Nothing has been announced for next year, and as of now, the tour will end in Vancouver, British Columbia, on Dec. 8.

Since the popstar performed six acoustic songs during her SoFi dates and two are already in the movie, fans believe the final two are "I Can See You" and "You Are in Love."

What are all the songs in the 'Eras Tour: (Taylor's Version)' film?

With the additional songs added to the lineup, here's what viewers can expect when singing and dancing their hearts out:

  • "Miss Americana & the Heartbreak Prince"
  • "Cruel Summer"
  • "You Need to Calm Down"
  • "You Belong With Me"
  • "Love Story"
  • "Champagne Problems"
  • "Tolerate It"
  • "Ready For It?"
  • "Don't Blame Me"
  • "Look What You Made Me Do"
  • "Enchanted"
  • "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together"
  • "I Knew You Were Trouble"
  • "All Too Well (10-Minute Version)"
  • "The Last Great American Dynasty"
  • "Illicit Affairs"
  • "My Tears Ricochet"
  • "Blank Space"
  • "Shake it Off"
  • "Bad Blood"
  • "You're on Your Own Kid"
  • "Death by a Thousand Cuts"
  • 3rd Surprise song
  • 4th Surprise Song
  • "Lavender Haze"
  • "Anti-Hero"
  • "Midnight Rain"
  • "Vigilante S---"
  • "Bejeweled"
  • "Mastermind"

Are any songs still excluded from the Disney+ 'Eras Tour' film?

Despite the additional songs added, there still are some that never made the final cut.

Songs excluded from the Disney Plus cut of the movie include Long Live, The Archer, Wildest Dreams and No Body, No Crime (which replaced "Tis the Damn Season" in the regular set). The latter three songs are included in the Amazon Prime version , which you can still rent or buy on the platform.

What is the runtime for the film?

In this new extended version, the run time is now 3 hours and 30 minutes instead of 2 hours and 48 minutes.

Is there still a chance to see the 'Eras Tour' in Florida or the United States?

This fall, the popstar will head back to the U.S. on:

  • Oct. 18-20:  Miami, Hard Rock Stadium
  • Oct. 25-27:  New Orleans, Caesars Superdome
  • Nov. 1-3:  Indianapolis, Lucas Oil Stadium
  • Nov. 14-16 ,  Nov. 21-23 : Toronto, Rogers Centre

Is there any way to get Taylor Swift tickets?

Tickets to all three of the Miami dates for Taylor Swift’s “The Eras Tour” sold out soon after they were posted via Ticketmaster  back in September . Resale tickets are available via  StubHub  and  SeatGeek .

The catch? A majority of these tickets are sold by scalpers above face value, ranging from $1,500 to $10,000 for seats.

What special dances or chants should I know ahead of time?

USA TODAY rounded up all of the  special dances, chants and outfits  to bring out during the Eras tour. Some of the top ones are:

'Delicate' chant

At the start of " Delicate ," right after Swift sings "We can't make any promises now can we, babe? But you can make me a drink," fans have taken to yelling: "One, two, three, let's go b----!" The chant was popularized after a viral vine.

'Bad Blood' chant

In 2015,  Swift came out with a remix to her hit song "Bad Blood" featuring Kendrick Lamar . During the concert, fans repeat a line of Lamar's part during the bridge.

In the "Anti-Hero" remix with Bleachers' frontman Jack Antonoff, he sings "Taylor, you'll be fine" after Swift sings "Did you hear my covert narcissism I disguise as altruism like some kind of congressman?" in the second pre-chorus.

Fans are singing Antonoff's "Taylor, you'll be fine" at the same spot during the concert.

'Bejeweled' dance

A dance move created and made popular by TikTok user  @mikael.arellano  made its way into Swift's choreography. During  "Bejeweled,"  when Swift sings the word "shimmer," flutter your fingers out in front of you.

I can't get enough of Taylor Swift. What other documentaries can I watch?

If those looking to dig a little deeper into Swift's lore, it’s about time to visit the 2020 documentary " Miss Americana " on Netflix.

The film follows Swift as she creates songs for her 2019 album "Lover" and reflects on her rise to fame and her songwriting process. It also gives fans an inside look at footage at her past concerts and gives Swift a spotlight to discuss topics she had never before, such as politics, failures with previous music and her reputation.

There's also the " Folkore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions " on Disney+, which takes viewers through Swift writing and performing songs from her Grammy-winning 2020 album.

Old Arbat District: the Art Quarter

Holidays are bright and colourful, we all love them because they form a ray of light amongst the grey monotony of the daily grind. Arbat is a real street-holiday, where it is always noisy and fun: people meet, walk, watch the performances of talented street artists with clowns, singers and dancers strutting their stuff. Right on the pavement, artists proudly exhibit their works.

There is a very special atmosphere here that has long attracted representatives of the creative intelligentsia. L. Tolstoy and S. Yesenin, A. Pushkin and his young wife N. Goncharov, A. Blok and B. Pasternak are fondly remembered by the hallowed paving stones along Arbat. It is of no surprise that the heroes of the famous novel ‘War and Peace’ were ‘registered’.

We would like to invite you to take a walk with us along the historic Old Arbat! We will talk about the history and architecture of the most romantic street in Moscow.

  • You will hear a lot of interesting facts about the grand houses that were located here and their wealthy residents.
  • You will learn how a once inexpensive inn for carriage drivers has since turned into one of the best restaurants in the capital!
  • You will see the famous house where A. Pushkin and N. Goncharova spent their honeymoon and stand at the wall dedicated to the memory of post punk/new wave icon Viktor
  • You will be carried away down the beautiful side streets such as: Bolshaya Afanasyevsky, Nikolopeskovsky, Filippovsky, Krivoarbatsky. In a bygone era, these streets were part of Arbat and were bustling with its spirit.

B.Okudzhava dedicated some of his lyrical poems to Arbat, his favourite street from childhood. A. Rybakov, author of the famous novel ‘Children of the Arbat’ also lived here. There is also a little corner of Bulgakov's Moscow on Arbat - the former Torgsin store (now the ‘The Seventh Continent’), where the novel ‘The Master and Margarita’ unfolded.

Every house on Arbat is a piece of history, and we will dive into this history head first.
