How Labrinth Created the Perfect Soundtrack for HBO’s ‘Euphoria’

By Lily Marks

Labrinth has had a busy couple of years, scoring his first TV series with HBO’s Euphoria , releasing an album with his new supertrio, LSD (with Sia and Diplo ), and co-writing the Beyoncé song “Spirit” as part of Disney’s recent Lion King movie. This wide array of projects is nothing new for the London-based singer-songwriter-producer, whose music spans electronic, hip-hop, R&B, gospel, and jungle, among other sounds. Labrinth attributes this genre-mashing to the influence of his childhood home — an “unofficial music school,” as he puts it, where his eight siblings each came in listening to a giant grab bag of artists. “I’m this 12-year-old kid being a sponge to all of these energies,” he says. “It’s like a bag of Skittles when I’m creating music.”

His style got the attention of Sam Levinson, creator of Euphoria — which paved the way for Labrinth’s opportunity to score the show . His soundtrack, due out in album form this Friday, hums with soft electricity, perfectly complementing the journey of the main character, Rue, a teenager caught in limbo between the euphoria of a drug high and the harsh consequences of addiction. “ When you look back to your teenage days,” he says, “it feels semi-magical but semi-crazy and semi-psychotic. I wanted to make sure the music felt like those things.”

You started as a songwriter and producer in 2009, and since then you’ve collaborated with a lot of different artists. Can you describe the transition from producing into a career as a solo artist? I’ve been creating since I was a kid; I have a really large family who are all musicians. It was like I grew up in a music school. I’ve been producing for God knows how long, and I ended up producing for kids from a theater school. That evolved into them playing my demos and records to record-label executives, and them kind of losing their shit over the music. Sometimes your music can sound better than you look [ laughs ]. When I went in to meet label executives, they were like, “Who’s this weirdo kid that has jeans double the size of his waist?” ‘Cause I used to wear my older brother’s hand-me-downs.

Editor’s picks

The 250 greatest guitarists of all time, the 500 greatest albums of all time, the 50 worst decisions in movie history, every awful thing trump has promised to do in a second term.

Once they heard that I could sing and I was writing the records — as well as producing them, [and] playing instruments on them — they were like, “OK, this guy has got something,” and it evolved into me getting signed to EMI at the time. They introduced me to Tiny Tempah, who was an up-and-coming urban artist in the U.K., and we ended up creating a record called “Pass Out.” It ended up becoming a Number One record in the U.K. and exploded in other territories as well. And that was the moment where the industry turned into … what was it? The Walking Dead . And they were all after me [ laughs ].

Your music combines a lot of genres. What’s the source of that? In my household, my sisters upstairs listened to Jodeci and 112 and Aaliyah, and all of these R&B artists and great singers. And then downstairs it would be my brother, who was way more into hip-hop, so it would be Wu-Tang, it would be Jurassic 5, A Tribe Called Quest.

And then in the other room my other brother would be playing jazz, like Weather Report and Yellow Jackets. My eight siblings had friends that were bringing in music like David Bowie, Prince, and genres that were inspiring to listen to. I’m this 12-year-old kid being a sponge to all of these energies.

If you can understand the perspective of the energy of the music, you can always find a way of incorporating it. In “Pass Out,” it was electronic hip-hop with trap energy; it also had a reggae energy in it. I was using drum-and-bass, jungle-type stuff. That was me throwing my childhood into the music. A lot of these influences just came into my music. I listen to Nina Simone, who I love; Ray Charles, who I love; and Kraftwerk, and then funk from Parliament-Funkadelic. So it’s like a bag of Skittles when I’m creating music. I hope that makes sense.

I feel like you have your own genre. Yeah! I remember Bruce Lee saying that his style was basically like water. For me, Bruce Lee’s style basically combined all the styles of the masters before him. And for me with music, I don’t feel like any of them are separate; I feel like you can merge genres by not putting them on a pedestal. I don’t put any genre on a pedestal.

So how did your experience finding your own sound lead to where you are now? When I started, I was asked to produce stuff [for], like, Rihanna or Beyoncé. I got sick of doing it because it was never working for me; I never got a hit out of it. That helped me find my own identity, because I had things I wanted to say, and once I started saying those things, that’s when my career started taking off.

Why does 'the jinx part 2' exist at all.

[2014’s] “Jealous” was a record that took me much further than people expected. It went to, like, Number Seven in the U.K. People liked the record, but it was a very drastic change for the audience. In the music industry, when you fall in love with an artist, you fall in love with them for a genre or a type of energy, and a lot of the stuff I was doing before “Jealous” was club-driven or electronic-driven. It took a long time for people to get into the record. By then it started accumulating a new audience and new listeners, and people fell in love with that version of me — that layer of the onion. That’s kind of weird, to fall in love with onions. But don’t worry.

And then people started singing my songs, like “Beneath Your Beautiful” or “Jealous” on American Idol and Pop Idol, and X Factor, and that started to expand into other avenues alongside me working with the Weeknd, on Beauty Behind the Madness, ’cause the Weeknd had heard some of my songs from my previous album. A lot of my music is slowly bringing fans closer. So “Jealous,” I remember Adele saying she loved that record. But then equally, [with] my record “Earthquake” or “Pass Out,” the Weeknd or Diplo were like, “I love that record,” you know? A lot of artists fell in love with the idea that I don’t really have a genre.

How did LSD come together? I ended up meeting Sia, who’s an incredible artist, an incredible writer. We got on like a house on fire and became instant friends, and then started writing music just because people put us in a room together. A few years later, she wanted to use one of my songs for a project, and she was like, “Lab, I’m gonna steal your record,” and that was a record I was gonna turn into a single. So she decided to try and write me a new single, and then we ended up writing, like, 10 songs, and that evolved into LSD. We called up Diplo and asked him to get involved and he was like, “I would like to do this project with you guys.”

Were you working on Euphoria and LSD and everything else at the same time — in the last year or two? Yeah, the last three years I’ve been working on at least about five projects all at the same time.

How did you become familiar with Sam Levinson? How did you first react when he got in touch with you about Euphoria ? Sam’s a good friend of my manager, Adam Leber. What I love about him is he’s had success in the music industry, but he hates it enough to have friends that are not in the music industry. Sam explained to me that Adam had played him some music from my album. Sam lost his shit about the music and was like, “This is its own thing, and its own sound,” and he could instantly see the music being part of his project. He was like, “I’ve got this incredible idea that I’m putting together, and I wanna make this series.” And I didn’t even care about how big it was. … His passion was so insane, and his love for music was so insane.

I started before I even [knew] what the project was. He was like, “Lab, I’ll also need a hard drive from you, and I’m just gonna take loads of music, because I’m sure all of these years that you haven’t been putting out albums, you’ve probably created an intense amount of music.” Which was true.

What did he want specifically? At the time, he was like, “Lab, I wanna make a score that has hip-hop influence, has gospel-orchestral influence,” like the soundtrack for Edward Scissorhands . A lot of what was happening on the score was kind of naturally what I do. So Sam … it wasn’t like he didn’t want me there, but he was kind of like, “When I listen to the music off your album, [it’s] exactly what I wanna hear. You’re already going in the right direction. You don’t need any inspiration apart from watching the visual.”

How closely did you work with the cast while scoring the show? Do you think your choices in creating the score played a role in the character development? Sam spoke to me about what the characters were about, and then he played me the first episode of the show. From there, I was inspired by the different dynamics of characters like Nate, who’s kind of … he’s an asshole! But in a beautiful way, because he contrasts with this mystical, almost fairylike character Jules. And then you’ve got Rue, who creates this incredible friendship and relationship with Jules.

For me, seeing how all of these relationships crossed each other inspired loads of ideas, even from my teenage years, where I was kind of trying to figure myself out and I was, you know, insecure and scared, as a lot of these characters [are].

That’s when I ended up writing “Still Don’t Know My Name” and I ended up writing “When I RIP.” That was one of the first ones I put together for Rue’s character, because I remember seeing that scene where she’s kind of having a trip. I was just like, “I wanna write or produce something that expresses the wonky weirdness and the kind of psychosis that she’s going through while she’s having that trip and that experience.”

Is that the scene with her and Jules with the glitter tears ? Yes, with the glitter tears. There’s a moment in the first episode where she talks about her experience of going through anxiety while she’s high, and while she’s having a trip. When I watched that first episode, I just got inspired to start writing lyrics about being high — no sleep, getting lost in what you’re doing, just kind of being out of it, you know? I wanted to write a record that expressed it sonically as well as lyrically.

Yeah! The scene that stands out to me is the one where Rue mentions the “two seconds of nothing” that she feels during a high. That’s probably what you were referring to. I will never forget that, I’ve watched it so many times. … It was a moment. Yeah it was really beautiful, and of course, seeing what Sam’s doing visually was so inspiring. I was sending him tracks every five minutes, and he was like, “Lab, I think I’ve got enough!” [ laughs ]

And then, of course, Zendaya had heard some of the record, and she was sending some words of encouragement through the grapevine, and then we eventually met at the premiere, and she was like, “I love what you’re doing.” … It was weird; it kind of felt like we both musically knew each other from afar. And that’s how our music or collaborative relationship started growing. That’s how “All for Us” evolved as well, and Sam was like, “Lab, I love this record so much. I’m using it for the finale of the season.”

What was different about scoring a show compared to what you’ve done in the past? Euphoria was like a beautiful master class and crash course in figuring out things that I didn’t have an idea how to do. Sam and the team at HBO , their temp score was pretty overwhelming because some of the music they were using for it was mind-blowing. So it was like, “I have to match this, or beat it.” That was very intense. Sometimes I had to do 25 pieces or ideas in a week, and to have to work on that much music was pretty taxing, but luckily I got through it. I didn’t know I could do that.

You can really feel sensory overload in a lot of those scenes. And in all the scenes where Rue is describing her reality, the score and the lights and the makeup all come together so nicely. I want it to feel almost mystical ’cause it does feel like that when you’re a teenager. Your whole existence is invested into this bubble that you’re in, and the bubble is so important. When you look back to your teenage days, it feels semi-magical but semi-crazy and semi-psychotic. I wanted to make sure the music felt like those things.

Were you surprised — and were Sam and the rest of the Euphoria team surprised — about how the show was received? What did you expect at the beginning? Sam was the nucleus of all of this greatness, and he made Zendaya do what she’s never done — what she’s always had the talent to do but people haven’t seen her go there. He went to me and he pulled out the gold dust that people haven’t seen in me, if you get what I mean.

He did that in every area with all the talent that he had around him. And the reaction has been beautiful because it’s like he basically stripped everyone creatively naked and said, “This is their raw talent,” and put all of those raw talents together right next to each other. It seems like people are falling in love with the collision of all of the raw moments of these different entities, if you get what I mean. Does that make sense?

That’s great, yeah! So I’m sure you know that everyone is dying for all of the tracks from the show to be released.   [Editor’s note: This interview took place just prior to the release of the soundtrack being announced] Yeah, “ Where the fuck is the music? ” Oh, man, it’s so funny.

So, you don’t have to say if you don’t know — but do you have an estimate on when that’s gonna be? [ Laughs hysterically ] You mean like, “Lab, give me the answer now.” I’m gonna be held at gunpoint at some point now!

Well, is there a reason for the timing of the release? I did all the music for the score, so it wasn’t necessarily like I was trying to make an album, or a soundtrack. It was all very focused on making it for Euphoria. But I do wanna give people the music, so I’m working on giving ’em what they want. I wanna feed the spoilt child [ laughs ].

The internet is crazy. Crazy! They’re all freaking out! [ L aughs ] If I put a post up, the first message is “Where’s the album? Where’s the soundtrack?!” So I’m like, “OK, don’t worry.” We’re working on getting ‘em what they need.

About Forever In Your Mind

CelebMix

EXCLUSIVE: Interview with Forever in Your Mind

Will Heffernan

Euphoric : a sense of freedom, an intense excitement, and happiness. Forever in Your Mind, a band consisting of Ricky Garcia, Emery Kelly and Liam Attridge are currently on their Euphoric Tour and it 100% fits that description. It’s an intimate tour with fun music and has some great dancing included, the audience also has the opportunity to meet the band as they are very friendly and love taking the time to chat with fans.

CelebMix had the chance to talk with the guys backstage before their show in Boston, MA.

What’s the message behind Euphoric?

Emery: I think the message behind it is just for everybody to have a good time when they come here. Whenever we have a show, we will always meet everybody that’s there, we’ll always take pictures with everyone, we’ll always be kind, we’ll always thank the parents. It’s just a show about spreading positivity, spreading love and just listening to good music.

Ricky: Basically, the definition of euphoric is feeling a sense of wonderment and fulfillness. We want people to be so happy at the end. When we get off stage, we’re always “oh we want to see the rest of the people,” even though we do meet and greets, even though we do VIP’s, we like to stick around after and meet everyone that comes to the show just because they pay good money. Our fans have been waiting forever and some people have never met us, it’s their first time and we’ve been together just for five years.

Emery: If somebody doesn’t have the money to buy VIP and they haven’t met us, we take that into consideration as in like “hey look, even if you bought VIP, no matter what we’ll still try to meet everybody.” If shows get bigger, if we do arena tours or anything, of course it’s going to be a lot harder but these shows, the past few weeks have been really intimate, really good decent size crowds. We’ve just been very lucky enough that we’ve been able to meet everybody alongside the tour and it’s super fun and we’re very grateful that we get to meet such amazing people around the country.

Whose idea was it to put on this small and intimate tour?

Liam: We wanted to do a headlining tour but it’s sort of like a grassroots tour where we’re doing smaller venues and it’s about meeting our fans and seeing our fans in places that we haven’t been to before and revisiting places that we know we have fans in.

Emery: Yeah, so that when we come back for a bigger show, they’ll remember the experience that they had with us at the little show and they’ll want to experience that again, or they might want to bring a friend or two or even bring their family. It’s really cool that we get the opportunity to also get to know them throughout the tour as well.

Do you have a favorite song from the album?

Ricky: I think we all like “X Did.”

Liam: “X Did” and “Rabbit Hole.”

Emery: I like “X Did” and “Rabbit Hole.” The four songs on the EP are a really good mesh. We worked on this EP throughout the course of a year and it’s just four songs. It’s like we made this album, the Euphoric album, we had all those songs that were super good and really touching hearts and we were just like “you know what why don’t we just make an EP,” because to make a song takes a lot of time and to master it takes a lot of time too. We wanted to drop music fast because we didn’t put out music in over a year.

Ricky: With the first EP and ever since the very first song we released, “Sweet Little Something,” our music has always changed. When we put out our first EP, it was an introduction to the young pop/rock side. Then we started to making Christmas songs and we wanted to make a little older music and I think everyone at that age is always ready to take the next step, but it took some time and we made the music and let people here it and they really liked it so then we started transitioning into “Smooth” then “Missing.” It was just a really fun process.

What does it feel like to know that this is the first EP that you’ve done on your own?

Liam: We were really lucky to be able to put out music we wrote. With this EP it was our choice what songs to put on the EP, so we had both control over that and we also had control over the sound, which is something, with a label, you don’t always get control over. This one was definitely more what we wanted.

Do have a favorite memory from this tour so far?

Emery: I don’t count the Vidcon show that we just did as part of the Euphoric Tour,  but that show was so much fun. I was really in it and I got super sweaty and I was jamming out and I remember when all of us were doing that part in “Rabbit Hole,” when there’s no music but we sing “for the first time I can’t let go,” right before the last drop I said, “let’s get hype,” and everybody just started jumping. What was weird is that in the beginning of that set, nobody was really getting it, there were some people grooving, as the songs progressed, everybody started getting it, they’re like “ok,” then the last one they were going crazy, it was a mosh-pit.

Ricky: I just went to Coachella recently and I’m obsessed with a lot of artists that go there and we were in the pit, in the huge crowd where everyone’s watching, and everyone’s just clustered in that and you have no other options than just sit there and enjoy the music. When you’re watching, the music is making your whole entire body vibrate. It’s just on another level, I can’t even imagine watching Eminem right up there and everyone jumping. Music makes you feel a certain type of way, every different song makes someone feel completely different but it just somehow brings us all together, which is so beautiful.

In honor of your band name, what’s one thing that’s “forever in your mind?”

Liam: Pizza and Fortnite.

Emery: The strive for knowledge.

Ricky: I would say creativity.

Emery, how did you land the role in Alexa and Katie ?

Emery: Funny enough, I got a producer call for it, that’s where I saw you (Ricky). Funny enough, we have a whole bunch of acting friends in LA and I was hanging out with my friend Peyton Meyer, who was on this TV show called Girl Meets World , the spinoff of Boy Meets World  and he got off this show and he was looking for work just like I was, and I just got off my contract with Disney. We both go to the audition and I see Ricky there in the waiting room and I was like “oh this is dope, I get to see all the homies at this audition,” cause what’s cool about auditioning is that there’s no jealously in auditioning with friends, because no matter what, if they choose you, they choose you for you, there’s nothing better or worse why they didn’t or why they did. I remember going in and seeing Ricky, hanging with Peyton and I left and then I got a call saying they want to do a chemistry read. So, I go in, I meet Isabel, who plays Katie and I already knew Paris, who is Alexa, and I did the chemistry read, it went really well, and they said we looked really alike and they said you should be her brother and I was all for it. I booked it because I literally look like her brother. If the roles were switched, Ricky could have got the job, or Peyton could have got the job, it just depends on what the image is for the family.

You guys are big into fashion, what’s your go-to clothing for a tour?

Ricky: Go to clothing is probably just tracksuits and stuff that I can rock on a plane basically because we’re flying all the time and we’re going from place to place. We all went through the phase of wearing skinny jeans. When we first released our first EP, we were into that rock kind of like “oh let’s wear skinny jeans all the time,” and these ripped jeans. We still do, I currently like wearing a lot of matching outfits because I like one pieces and they look cool I think, I’m more of a relaxed/chill vibe.

Liam: Skinny jeans for life!

Emery: I love wearing anything crazy.

How do you stay so original and fresh with so many other boy bands around?

Ricky: I think it’s listening to all different styles and also just keeping an open mind.

Liam: The thing with all the four boy bands, Prettymuch, In Real Life, Why Don’t We and us, we all have different styles and I don’t think anyone is copying each other, trying to be each other because everyone has their own distinctive thing about them.

Emery: Coincidentally someone else came out with music that sounds like us. I’m saying that if we came out with a song, like if we dropped our new single and if it sounded like some other artist, it’s because some people get influenced by other people and they feel that same feeling. Some people will be like “oh why did they copy that,” then there will be other people that are like “yeah that’s what I’m feeling.” There’s such a range of different opinions, there’s a lot of different ways to look at it.

Since you guys were on Xfactor , what’s some advice you would give to current contestants on competition shows?

Emery: What I learned is that, I remember being around everybody, like my family and watching them watch me do this, I just remember telling myself “why would I try to be something different than what I am?” When I auditioned for it I was fedora wearing kid, I loved Bruno Mars at the time and I always wore a fedora. I just told myself “what’s the point of me trying to be somebody else?” I’m in this body and this vessel, how am I going to be in that body and that vessel when I’m only connected to this one?” When I was going to sign up, I tried to act like Justin Bieber or Austin Mahone or be really cool like Bruno Mars but then I realized that they want me for me, they don’t want me for who I want to be, I want to be something great, but they want me for what I am now. So, when I went up on that stage I was myself and if I don’t get it, that’s fine.

Ricky: It’s all the process of knowing yourself and learning others, you’re always changing, you’re always growing and stuff too. Just starting out as an artist, you shouldn’t try to be anybody else, just be yourself and I think it’s really important, don’t let anyone change you. It’s easier said than done and people hang around other people that influence them and can sometimes make bad decisions, but you know, at the end of the day, what are you going to be proud of yourself for? What do you want to be remembered by?

Emery: You want to be remembered for who you are.

Liam: I think that those shows, those people have succeeded from originality and it’s such a beautiful thing to see so many different types of voices and not just the same stuff that you’d always hear, it’s so many different types of voices, so many types of different things to where it’s just original. I think that’s what sells.

Is Euphoria Season 3 Still Happening? Storm Reid Says…

Storm reid shared her thoughts on the highly anticipated third season of euphoria , exclusively telling e news that she's "anxious to get back" to work..

Storm Reid  isn't going to let Euphoria 's production delay rain on her parade.

Though HBO confirmed the premiere of the teen drama's third season has been pushed back , with scripts for new episodes being written, the actress is still putting out "positive vibes in the universe" that the show will eventually return.

"We're on pause right now, but we're anxious to get back," she told E! News ' Will Marfuggi  at the April 16 premiere of Challengers , which stars her Euphoria castmate  Zendaya . "If it's meant to be, we'll be back soon and we'll give the audience what they want and deserve."

Storm added, "Hopefully, we will be back."

For now, Storm is keeping up with her costars through social media. As the 20-year-old noted, she's euphoric every time Zendaya's OOTD from her Challengers press tour hits the feed.

"I follow her, I follow her stylist, I follow people close to her," she quipped. "I'm still a fangirl in that way." (Tune into E! News Wednesday, April 17, for more from Storm.)

And Storm believes her onscreen sister is "killing it" in more ways than one. In addition to all the looks Zendaya, 27, has been serving, Storm has nothing but praise for the Disney Channel alum's recent repertoire of work, including costarring in  Challengers  alongside  Josh O'Connor  and  Mike Faist .

"I've been waiting on pins and needles to see it," Storm said of the sports film, which centers around a tennis coach caught in between two rival players. "I'm so proud of her."

And though Zendaya has been  booked and busy  in between seasons of  Euphoria , she's still making time for her boyfriend  Tom Holland , who will be starring in a London theater production of  Romeo & Juliet  this May.

Sharing that she " couldn't be more proud " of the British actor, Zendaya told  Vogue  last month, "I'm going to try to see as many shows as I possibly can."

Challengers  hits theaters April 26.

For more details on the love lives of  Euphoria  stars, keep reading.

You'd have to be living under a rock to not know that Zendaya and  Spider-Man co-star  Tom Holland  are dating. In July 2020, the actors were photographed kissing as they drove through Los Angeles, with a source telling E! News, "They became friends and started getting romantic a few months ago. They both are such great people."

And while Tom is busy breaking box office records, he's more than willing to make a cameo on  Euphoria . In December, he told fans, "I want to be in Euphoria !" So keep your eyes peeled for Peter Parker in season three of the HBO series!

It seemed love was in the air on the set of Euphoria . After weeks of speculation, Dominic and Hunter confirmed their offscreen reationship in February 2022.

However, their romance fizzled out by July 2023, with Dominic saying at the time that he's " just done being in relationships right now ."

Later, in April 2024, Hunter confirmed the duo had officially split in April of the previous year, and was staying single for the time being, saying, "I want to make sure I’m good all the way before I jump into something else.”

The actor—whose Fezco character struck up a romance with Lexi ( Maude Apatow ) on season two of the HBO show—was rumored to be dating model Sydney Martin   prior to his death in July 2023 .

"My heart is so broken," she wrote in the wake of his passing. "I love you forever."

Jacob Elordi

After previously dating Kissing Booth  co-star Joey King and  model  Kaia Gerber , the actor began a romance with Olivia Jade . As of January 2024, the two are still together, a source told E! News .

She may be in a love triangle in Euphoria , but Sydney's actual dating life is much simpler. The actress is engaged to former restaurateur Jonathan Davino , who she has been dating since 2018.

"I don't date actors or musicians or anyone in entertainment because I can just be normal Syd that way and it's easiest," she told Cosmopolitan in 2022. "I have a great support system."

While Kat questioned her love for Ethan in season two of  Euphoria , there's no doubt that Barbie loves partner Elle Puckett , a musician who also goes by the pseudonym Rosie Ugly. The pair started dating in 2019 and even quarantined together during the pandemic, but Barbie keeps their love live private.

Like the rest of her co-stars, Alexa keeps her personal life off the 'gram. But she's reportedly in a long term relationship with musician  Christian Berishaj , better known as  JMSN . Clearly, she's his muse, as she starred in his "Act Like I'm Not Here" music video in September 2020. Plus, she's one of only two people he follows on Instagram.

Colman Domingo

The actor, who plays Rue's sponsor and mentor, married Raúl Domingo in 2014. It was love at first sight for the pair, who began dating after Raúl placed a Missed Connections ad on Craigslist days after they walked by each other in front of a Walgreens pharmacy in Berkeley, Calif.

The daughter of  Leslie Mann  and  Judd Apatow  is apparently dating someone , according to an Architectural Digest apartment tour she gave in Feb. 2024. Although she didn't say the name of her "boyfriend" in the video, she's been linked to a number of celebrities, including season one Euphoria star  Lukas Gage .

Meanwhile, her little sister, Iris Apatow , went Instagram officia l with Kate Hudson 's son,  Ryder Robinson , on Valentine's Day 2022.

Zendaya has no updates on season 3 of  Euphoria . Amid news that the HBO series' third season has been delayed, its star and executive producer told  Variety   that she's "not in charge" of if or when the show returns.

"If it's right for the characters and everything turns out the way it should, of course," she tells the outlet. "But it's beyond me."

Season 3 has faced many delays on its road to being made and released. Production was first stalled last year after actor  Angus Cloud died from  an accidental overdose . Then came the labor strike dispute between the studios and the WGA and SAG-AFTRA, the latter of which officially came to an end in December.

Three months later, a spokesperson for the network told ET , "HBO and [show creator] Sam Levinson remain committed to making an exceptional third season. In the interim, we are allowing our in-demand cast to pursue other opportunities."

Shortly after HBO's announcement, which came amid reported creative differences with Levinson, actress Storm Reid told  Variety , "I would hope the viewers, the audience will be able to finish the show. I think we should handle the show with care. We've put our hearts and soul into it."

In a separate interview , Hunter Schafer told the outlet, "I just really miss everybody. Everyone is doing very well in their careers right now. Everyone's kind of blown up, and so with that comes people traveling a lot. Whatever happens, I'm just excited to get back together once it's time and catch up and hang out."

As for when season 3 of  Euphoria  could finally premiere,  Deadline   previously reported that the network hopes to unveil new episodes in 2025.

Just as the premiere date remains unclear so to does the plot of season 3. After season 2 aired in 2022, Levinson told Elle  that season 3 would be "film noir," noting that Zendaya's Rue will be exploring "what it means to be an individual with principles in a corrupt world."

Then, during a January appearance on  The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon , actor  Jacob Elordi said he's expecting the next installment to feature a time jump because "otherwise they're going to have to Benjamin Button me or something" in order to play a high schooler.

"What I know is that we will have a season 3," actor Colman Domingo  told Vanity Fair   the following month. "It will be challenging in the most beautiful way. I always think that Sam [Levinson] is examining hope and faith, especially when it comes to people who are struggling and trying to find their way. I know Sam Levinson and his heart, and I know he's one of the kindest human beings that I know."

Utah officially has an NHL team

The arizona coyotes will relocate to the beehive state and start play next season..

(Ross D. Franklin | AP) Arizona Coyotes players acknowledge the fans after an NHL hockey game against the Edmonton Oilers on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, in Tempe, Ariz. The Coyotes won 5-2. The NHL on Thursday announced the team will move to Salt Lake City next season.

Utah is now home to a National Hockey League franchise.

The NHL on Thursday announced that the Arizona Coyotes will effectively relocate to Salt Lake City starting in the 2024-25 season.

Smith Entertainment Group — led by Utah Jazz owner Ryan Smith and his wife, Ashley — reportedly paid between $1.2 and $1.3 billion for the franchise.

“As everyone knows, Utah is a vibrant and thriving state, and we are thrilled to be a part of it,” NHL commissioner Gary Bettman said in a news release. “We are also delighted to welcome Ashley and Ryan Smith to the NHL family and know they will be great stewards of the game in Utah. We thank them for working so collaboratively with the League to resolve a complex situation in this unprecedented and beneficial way.”

The Coyotes’ franchise will become inactive, with all of its hockey assets, players and draft picks, moving to a new franchise in Utah. Coyotes owner Alex Meruelo will have the opportunity to reactivate the franchise if he secures a new arena for the team within five years.

Ryan Smith told the official NHL website that the team will have Utah in the name, not Salt Lake City . He added that determining the new team’s nickname, though, will be a process that could take a while.

“So, we’ll start with ‘Utah’ on the jersey, and we’ll figure out the logo and everything else and what it is that we are. But that’s a one-way door,” he said. “You get to do it once. And with this timeline, I think both the league feels better and we feel better to just run the process, and then we’ll drop it when we drop it.”

Ryan and Ashley Smith said in a statement that their intent was always to bring an NHL team to Utah through expansion. But that changed when Bettman approached them with the situation in Arizona and a need to remedy it.

“When he approached us and asked us for help resolving this situation, we made the bold decision to introduce a new franchise in Utah, fully understanding that we are stepping up to do something in a time frame and way that has never been done before in professional sports under these circumstances,” they said. “We are committed to building a Stanley Cup contending team and are thrilled to welcome incredible players, coaches, staff, and their families to Utah. Today is a great day for Utah, for hockey, and for building a legacy that will have a lasting impact for generations to come.”

Salt Lake City Mayor Erin Mendenhall released a statement voicing her approval of the new team.

“This announcement is about more than bringing an NHL team to Salt Lake City — it’s a defining moment in our trajectory, becoming a catalyst for a positive vision that integrates community, connection, and more possibilities for families, residents, and visitors to experience our capital city,” Mendenhall said. “I’m thankful for the close partnership with Ryan and Ashley Smith, and the entire SEG team. This is the beginning of a new era that will generate exciting opportunities for our communities, amplify pride and unlock new potential in our downtown core.”

The move has been rumored for weeks, and one that has Utah sports fans buzzing.

Braden Clark, of Cache County, reacted with a healthy level of skepticism when the notion of an NHL team coming to Utah was first floated.

“That’s never going to happen,” Clark thought, remembering that the league had recently expanded to 32 teams with the Seattle Kraken.

But now that the Beehive State is getting the Arizona Coyotes via relocation, Clark could barely contain his joy.

“I’m ecstatic about the fact that Utah is getting its own team,” Clark said. “I’m extremely excited to embark on this new chapter of Utah sports and to see all the new things that are going to come with it.”

Since the rumors first started circulating, fans like Clark have been abuzz and waiting for the official announcement. They’ve flooded social media channels with ideas for a team name and color scheme. They made plans to watch the final Coyotes game, which occurred Wednesday night against the Edmond Oilers.

Steven Cundick is one of the fans who watched Arizona’s final game . He did so on an antenna that he used to watch Jazz games this season, he said. And the conversation between him and a group of his close friends has already surrounded how to afford season tickets for the new team in Utah.

“It’ll totally depend on the price point,” Cundick said. “If we do do it, we’ll be sharing it amongst probably six to eight guys and probably buy two or four tickets to that group of people and then we’ll just divide up the games. I think if all we can afford to do is nosebleeds, which is what I kind of suspect based on what I think the pricing will be, I think we still will likely move forward with it.”

Cundick considers himself a new hockey fan. He already closely follows local teams like the Jazz, Utah football and basketball, and Real Salt Lake. He’s kept up with the branding ideas others have proposed online, although he described his excitement as “tempered” because he hasn’t exactly been thrilled with how Smith rebranded the Jazz.

“I think Ryan Smith is kind of 0-for-1 on that part,” Cundick said.

Of all the names that have been bandied about alone, Cundick said his favorite is the Cutthroat.

“I would be all in on that because it’s unique to Utah, there’s no other major league team with that name, and I think it kind of sounds tough,” Cundick said. “It’s a double meeting between the trout but also kind of the sound of cutthroat just sounds kind of tough.”

Clark, meanwhile, is partial to naming the Utah NHL team the Blizzard.

“It keeps with the double Z mantra that we’ve had here in the state for a very long time with obviously the Jazz, the Buzz, the Grizzlies, those kinds of teams,” Clark said.

The new team will play at the Delta Center. The state legislature passed a bill that would fund a new sports and entertainment district around the arena with $1 billion of taxpayer money , and Smith earlier this month applied to work with SLC on a proposal to revitalize that part of downtown.

Living in Cache Valley means Clark won’t make it out to many NHL games. But he said he is planning to attend the first one because it will be “historic,” and having a team in the state means he’ll make it out to SLC a little more.

Clark also said once he knows what the team name and other branding is, he’ll buy merchandise for his family to wear.

“The things that excite me the most is just kind of embracing the new brand — whatever it is — getting to know the players on the team, the coaching staff, and then smaller things like listening to the podcasts that the people that cover the team [will do] and getting to know those people as they come to Utah,” Clark said.

Greg Leeb, former Grizzlies assistant coach and current hockey development director for player development with the Junior Grizzlies, said he most wants to see “the enthusiasm and the support” from the community for the new Utah team. He also said that in the Junior Grizzlies playing youth programs from Las Vegas and Arizona, he’s seen the number of young hockey players grow over the years. He thinks Utah getting an NHL could make a similar impact at the youth level.

“We’ve seen it,” Leeb said. “We play against them and we’ve seen how those programs improve as well. So it would definitely probably have a positive impact around here as well.”

Moscow Metro

The Moscow Metro Tour is included in most guided tours’ itineraries. Opened in 1935, under Stalin’s regime, the metro was not only meant to solve transport problems, but also was hailed as “a people’s palace”. Every station you will see during your Moscow metro tour looks like a palace room. There are bright paintings, mosaics, stained glass, bronze statues… Our Moscow metro tour includes the most impressive stations best architects and designers worked at - Ploshchad Revolutsii, Mayakovskaya, Komsomolskaya, Kievskaya, Novoslobodskaya and some others.

What is the kremlin in russia?

The guide will not only help you navigate the metro, but will also provide you with fascinating background tales for the images you see and a history of each station.

And there some stories to be told during the Moscow metro tour! The deepest station - Park Pobedy - is 84 metres under the ground with the world longest escalator of 140 meters. Parts of the so-called Metro-2, a secret strategic system of underground tunnels, was used for its construction.

During the Second World War the metro itself became a strategic asset: it was turned into the city's biggest bomb-shelter and one of the stations even became a library. 217 children were born here in 1941-1942! The metro is the most effective means of transport in the capital.

There are almost 200 stations 196 at the moment and trains run every 90 seconds! The guide of your Moscow metro tour can explain to you how to buy tickets and find your way if you plan to get around by yourself.

Fun facts from our Moscow Metro Tours:

From the very first days of its existence, the Moscow Metro was the object of civil defense, used as a bomb shelter, and designed as a defense for a possible attack on the Soviet Union.

At a depth of 50 to 120 meters lies the second, the coded system of Metro-2 of Moscow subway, which is equipped with everything you need, from food storage to the nuclear button.

According to some sources, the total length of Metro-2 reaches over 150 kilometers.

The Museum was opened on Sportivnaya metro station on November 6, 1967. It features the most interesting models of trains and stations.

Coffee Ring

The first scheme of Moscow Metro looked like a bunch of separate lines. Listen to a myth about Joseph Stalin and the main brown line of Moscow Metro.

Zodiac Metro

According to some astrologers, each of the 12 stops of the Moscow Ring Line corresponds to a particular sign of the zodiac and divides the city into astrological sector.

Astrologers believe that being in a particular zadiac sector of Moscow for a long time, you attract certain energy and events into your life.

Paleontological finds

Red marble walls of some of the Metro stations hide in themselves petrified inhabitants of ancient seas. Try and find some!

  • Every day each car in  Moscow metro passes  more than 600 km, which is the distance from Moscow to St. Petersburg.
