Formed in Charlotte, North Carolina, US, Firehouse are a glam metal band that came into popularity in the late 80s and early 90s, taking their cues from the likes of Bon Jovi, Poison and Def Leppard.

Clad in leather and with long permed hair, FireHouse were the quintessential glam metal band, arriving towards the tail end of the scene that came into popularity in the 80s. Having developed their sound and cemented their lineup, the band caught the attention of Epic Records in 1989, who signed them to their label for their debut release. Released in 1990, their self-titled debut found significant critical acclaim, beating the likes of Nirvana and Alice in Chains to the title of 'Best New Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Band' at the American Music Awards in 1991. The album was a huge success, selling over two million copies and was certified double-Platinum. With several high-charting singles, the band also managed to make waves in the Canadian, Singaporean and Japanese charts, with the album certified Gold in these countries.

They followed their debut with 1992's "Hold Your Fire," which whilst not as successful, it still managed to be certified Gold, helped by the top ten hit single, the rock ballad, "When I Look Into Your Eyes." Their third album, "FireHouse 3" was released in 1995, featuring the top 20 ballad, "I Live My Life For You." However, with changing tastes moving towards the grunge/alternative rock scene, FireHouse's popularity began to wane as the decade went on, being unable match the heights of their debut. They continued to release albums moving to a more middle-of-the-road sound, such as the band Boston, finding interest on the adult contemporary radio.

They released five further albums to limited success, as well as the "Bring 'Em Out Live" CD/DVD in 1999, recorded in Japan. Despite not finding much success in their home country, FireHouse have enjoyed continuing popularity in a number of Asian countries, with their album sales remaining consistently high and their live performances popular. In India, Thailand, Japan, Indonesia, Singapore, Philippines and many other countries, FireHouse have found legions of fans and have embarked on extensive tours in this region.

North Carolina band Firehouse remain champions of a fast fading genre, glam metal. There is very little theatrics involved in metal these days and the large hair and bizarre outfits that worked in their 90s heydays have diminished leaving the band to evolve with the times.

The new music is notably more reserved with less emphasis on the glamour and the face decorations of time past although there is a nice eccentricity still present in the live show. Three out of four musicians onstage have been present since the very beginning and this helps out hugely when it comes to live performance as there is an unspoken rapport and great consistency to the show. They do not deny the popularity of their very first album playing a good chunk of its tracks including 'All She Wrote' 'Shake & Tumble' and finishing on the gargantuan 'Don't Treat Me Bad'. It is an evocative and energetic live show with that ever present emphasis on not taking things too seriously and allowing the music to speak for itself.

I want my money back!!! I was extremely disappointed when I saw that the group on stage was not Firehouse, it was “Firehouse the band”, a whole different band with no music relation at all from the 80’s hard rock band I was advertised I was going to see. It was a waste of time and money and my wife was not happy either which it made it worse.

If you are a decent and respectful music connection platform please help me recover my $58.70 or at least $50 I spent on these tickets or you will lose one eager so far disappointed follower.

Firehouse is another great band from the 90's hair band era. They had several top 40 hits such as "Don't Treat Me Bad", "Love of a Lifetime", "All She Wrote", and "When I Look Into Your Eyes".

They have only gotten better with age. They connect with their crowd and bring you right into the show with them. Just after the first few songs, they will have you dancing, singing and screaming for more.

They are definitely worth checking out and they will not disappoint you. Every time I have been to one of their shows, a good time was had by all.

Seen Firehouse in Herrin Illinois they were awesome sounded just like I remembered from my teenage days when we listened to them over and over again between all 4 of the bands that played they were my 2nd favorite there right after Tom Keifer, but even 2nd I would love to see them again because they rocked that show!

Absolutely fantastic. Greats vocals and guitar. Definitely will see again. Just a super group of guys.We sung along with every song. Had the time of my life so much so I can hardly talk now.

Awesome show! Second time to see them and again, I was not disappointed! They did an amazing job! Love of a lifetime, Shake and Tumble...just the energy on stage! Great Show!

A group of guys from separate bands in the the Southeast (Virginia/North Carolina) joined forces to build a better band. That band was FireHouse.

Don't treat FireHouse bad. Or us, for that matter, for discussing their handful of hit tunes.

Originally forming in Richmond, the band quickly moved down South to Charlotte where they produced a handful of tunes that got some notoriety in the late 80s and early 90s.

Always enjoyed the rockers like Don't Treat Me Bad and All She Wrote. Their balladry plumage was evident on Love of a Lifetime, When I Look Into Your Eyes and I Live My Life For You. FireHouse was just some guys from VA/NC putting in the work, touring long years in Asia after the popularity of hair metal declined in America.

Similar to that hustle and touring drive is FireHouse's relentless approach to releasing different versions of their old tunes to keep them alive, having released the album, Acoustics, in 1996 and, Full Circle, in 2011. The former were acoustic versions of their hit songs and the latter was their best material re-recorded.

Enuff Z’nuff are the living, breathing example of what a rock/pop group should be. The band was formed in 1984 in Blue Island, Illinois. Its first release, Fingers On It, gave the band some initial recognition when the track was featured in the 1986 cult movie, Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer.

By 1989, original members, Chip Z’Nuff and Donnie Vie, were joined by guitarist Derek Frigo and drummer Vikki Foxx. The band had signed with Atco/Atlantic Records that same year and released their debut self-titled album. The album spawned two singles that were to change the course of the bands history, New Thing and Fly High Michelle. Both songs were played constantly on radio, and gained heavy rotation on MTV spending over 60 weeks in the top 10.

A musical celebration and tribute to CJ Snare, lead vocalist and a founding member of the musical group FireHouse. CJ, who passed suddenly on Friday April 5th, will be remembered as one of the finest vocalists of his era. FireHouse will honor CJ, his music and legacy at their performance in Greeneville, TN at Niswonger Performing Arts Center this Saturday, April 13th. Nate Peck, 2023 American Idol Golden Ticket recipient from Season 21, will be handling vocals. With CJ’s blessing and full support, Nate has been singing with the band in CJ’s absence over the past 6 months. CJ’s memory and the music he crafted with FireHouse will live on forever, his soaring voice undeniably one of the best in the business.

Slipknot announces Here Comes the Pain concert tour, return of Knotfest: How to get tickets

Heavy metal band Slipknot is celebrating the 25th-anniversary of its debut album with a new tour.

The band announced its upcoming Here Comes the Pain Tour on social media Tuesday. The 18-city North American trek kicks off in Noblesville, Indiana, on Aug. 6 and will visit Baltimore, New York City, Toronto and Dallas, among other cities.

The tour will wrap in Slipknot's hometown of Des Moines, Iowa, with the return of the band's festival Knotfest on Sept. 21.

Knocked Loose, Orbit Culture and Vended will serve as opening acts on the tour.

Slipknot, known for its mask-clad members, chaotic shows and aggressive music style, released its self-titled debut album in 1999. The album went on to sell 2 million copies , and its lead single "Wait and Bleed" earned the nu-metal band a Grammy nomination for best metal performance.

Slipknot at Louder Than Life: Band set to play Louisville festival alongside Slayer, Mötley Crüe, Judas Priest

Who’s playing Knotfest?

The 2024 lineup for Knotfest includes the return of Slipknot, the festival’s headliner and founder. The band will play a set that draws from its 1999 debut album “Slipknot.”

The lineup also includes Till Lindemann from Rammstein, hardcore/metal forerunners Knocked Loose , metalcore influencers Hatebreed and Poison The Well , heavy metal icons GWAR , in addition to Vended , Dying Wish , Zulu, Twin Temple, Holy Wars, Swollen Teeth and Spine & Dose. Vended features two members who are sons of members of Slipknot (Griffin Taylor, son of Corey Taylor, and Simon Crahan, son of Shawn “Clown” Crahan).

Tickets for Knotfest go on sale Tuesday from 10 a.m. to noon for premium sales of $99.50 on Knotfest.com , followed by Knotfest.com general subscriber presale tickets starting at noon. Tickets are on sale to the general public starting at $125 this Friday at 10 a.m. on Knotfest.com . 

Who is Slipknot?

Percussionist Shawn Crahan, former vocalist Anders Colsefni and bassist Paul Gray formed Slipknot in 1995. Vocalist Corey Taylor joined the band in 1997 as its new lead singer.

Crahan came up with the idea of wearing a mask when he brought a clown mask with him to rehearsals. Now he’s known as “The Clown.” By 1997, the band decided that everyone would wear a mask and a matching jumpsuit.

The band's seventh studio album, "The End, So Far," came out in September 2022.

Billie Eilish announced the dates the world tour in support of her third album on Monday (April 29). The Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour is slated to kick off on Sept. 29 at the Centre Videotron in Quebec, Canada, and take the singer across North America through late December, with stops in Toronto, Baltimore, Philadelphia, Detroit, Newark, Boston and Pittsburgh before a three night-stint at Madison Square Garden (Oct. 16-18) and two nights at State Farm Arena in Atlanta (Nov. 2-3).

The tour will feature a number of sustainability efforts, including the continuation of Eilish’s long-running partnership with environmental nonprofit Reverb, which has so far resulted in $1 million in donations to environmental, greenhouse-gas reduction and climate-justice projects, according to a release announcing the dates. On the upcoming tour, sustainability efforts will include reducing greenhouse-gas pollution, decreasing single-use plastic waste, supporting climate action and updating concession offerings to promote plant-based food options.

Eilish is also encouraging fans to fight the tremendous waste caused by fast fashion by dressing up for the gigs in thrifted, upcycled or borrowed clothes instead of buying new ones.
