A Tour of Bank of Melbourne’s Elegant Headquarters

A Tour of Bank of Melbourne’s Elegant Headquarters

Bank of Melbourne, a financial institution based in Melbourne, Australia reached out to architecture and interior design firms  Schiavello Construction  and  Geyer  to design their new head offices.

“Spread across two floors and five distinct floor plates in Melbourne’s iconic Rialto Tower, this 4,000sqm (43,055 square feet) office space supports Bank of Melbourne’s positioning as Victoria’s local bank. The built space facilitates deeper engagement with staff, clients, and the community by maximising light and encouraging movement. Bank of Melbourne’s focus on fostering a unique brand culture guided this project. The resulting space – designed by Geyer and built by Schiavello Construction – with its distinct choice of materials, has a particularly Melbourne feel; a reference to the bank’s unique relationship to the city. Aligning with the bank’s property guidelines, the spatial design solution provides for open, collaborative, and agile methods of working. Underpinned by a strong focus on movability and the transference of ideas across staff, the fitout features a mix of focus and collaborative spaces to cater to staff needs. The brand’s focus on the client experience is also clearly translated into this space with a dedicated space for high-end clients. The Shopfront – a permeable showroom flanked by perforated operable walls – greets clients and facilitates the bank’s physical and digital storytelling. The client foyer is punctuated with contemporary furnishings in neutral shades of taupe and terracotta; while functional and beautiful, they don’t distract from the feature ceiling above. Timber beams with integrated lighting accentuate the height of the space. Spaces flow horizontally across each floor and interconnect vertically through the inter-tenancy staircase. The stair is strategically positioned on the two-level bridge, connecting the old and new parts of the building. Vertically aligned with the stairs, a perforated metal veil rises from the ground on the lower floor and curves along the ceiling above, folding to house a cozy focus space. The six-meter bespoke curved screen admits an abundance of natural light and features integrated lighting for added ambience. The openness is further emphasized by the feature stepped ceiling with recessed lighting – giving the illusion of natural light from above. These construction elements address the limitations of natural light usually felt by lower floor tenancies.”

From tripod positioning to maximizing natural light, these seven tips explain how to optimize your virtual office tour.

office tour bank

This article was originally published by Allwork.Space .

Virtual office tours are experiencing a boom, for obvious reasons. But the savviest operators were leveraging this technology way before the pandemic hit.

Known in the marketing world as ‘sticky content’, virtual tours engage prospective members by enabling them to experience your location without leaving your website. Sure, they’ll likely want to come see it in person too, but it means they will do so as a more ‘qualified’ prospect.

What is a Virtual Tour?

A virtual tour, also referred to as a 360 panoramic tour or 3D virtual tour, shouldn’t be confused with a video tour. Video tours are a very effective marketing tool but they differ in that they only allow website visitors to see the point of view of the presenter or videographer.

Virtual office tours, on the other hand, provide visitors with control over their perspective, enabling them to zoom in on features and explore at their own pace.

Panoramic tours are created using a series of photographs or videos taken from one vantage point. The camera’s lens rotates around the ‘no parallax point’ – the specific point at the back of the lens where the light converges.

There are lots of companies out there who can create a virtual office tour for you, so don’t be afraid to outsource. If you decide to have a go yourself, you’ll need a camera which can shoot 360° panoramic footage remotely and virtual tour software (or an app).

office tour bank

How to Optimize Your 360 Virtual Office Tour:

1. plan your virtual office tour shots.

Compose a list of the areas in your workspace you’d like to include in your virtual tour – private offices, coworking areas, breakout spaces, kitchens, roof terraces, etc. Find a vantage point in each area that will enable you to capture all of its features. You could use the centre of the room. Failing that, select a more convenient spot and mark it with tape.

2. Prepare each space

Once you’ve planned the camera positions in each area, it’s time to prepare the room for the recording.  Remove anything that will obstruct the camera’s view, tidy up by organising desks and chairs neatly and take anything that might distract the viewer out of the shot. People like to work in environments with lots of natural light, so be sure to open any blinds.

3. Level your tripod

For image consistency and to ensure straight angles, you’ll need to make sure your tripod is level in every shot. Your tripod might come with its own spirit level – simply adjust the legs until the bubble is in the middle. If it doesn’t, you can download a leveling app using your smartphone.

4. Practice your shots

Practice makes perfect, as the old saying goes. Before uploading your content, take practice shots of each part of your workspace and analyse them. The first thing to look out for is whether you can see your camera’s reflection in windows or mirrors.

If so, you’ll need to reposition your camera. Likewise, check for any distractions or darkness that will compromise the quality of your virtual office tour.

5. Take your photos

Once you’ve demo-ed your technology and framing, it’s time to get stuck in. Find the vantage point that you’ve marked out in each room, set up the tripod and take the pictures. You can check images as you go and retake photos before moving to the next area. It’s better to have a selection to choose from than too few.

6. Upload your photos

Use your chosen virtual tour software or app to connect the images together and complete your virtual office tour. You’ll have to upload your images and follow the prompts. Lots of programs enable you to optimize the viewers experience by adding features such as interactive links, audio descriptions, floor plans and music.

7. Share your virtual office tour

Embed the virtual tour into your website and share it across your social media channels. You can share a link to it in emails to any prospective members that come your way and you can also generate a QR code that links directly to the virtual tour when scanned.

Virtual Office Tour Examples

Staying up-to-date with the latest marketing and technology trends is important if you want to remain relevant in a competitive landscape.

Don’t be afraid to experiment and ask your peers for guidance when needed. Before embarking on your own virtual office tour journey, take a look at how other operators are utilizing the technology: check out Mindspace  in Bucharest and  Knotel , in London, for instance.

A Complete Guide to Touring Office Space

  • December 13, 2018
  • Commercial Real Estate Guides & Tips

Business people walking together in the city

John Heimbigner

Whether you’re facing a much-needed expansion or simply searching for your first permanent office space, tenants would be better equipped with a list of detailed questions for each space rather than going in blind. Furthermore, knowing a few important tips about the commercial real estate world will help you gain a better understanding before your broker sets up tours on your behalf.

Once your commercial real estate agent concludes their market evaluation of potential spaces, the next step is to schedule walkthroughs and tours with the landlord’s representative.

Before Your Tour

Consider the Market – Your broker will provide a detailed list of appropriate properties that could be adapted to your needs and situated within your budget range. If your industry demands high-visibility or relies on foot traffic, your city’s commercial district is likely your best option – but likely the most expensive due to high demand. However, those in professional services, manufacturing, or logistics could find more reasonable terms further outside the central business corridor. Be sure to detail any flexibilities in location to your broker at the beginning of your search.

Limit Your Tours – Because it takes quite a bit of time to fully inspect and consider each property, it’s best to limit the amount of tours per day to 4-5. You’ll also want to spend some time with your broker after each tour to regroup and analyze each space. It may also be helpful to take notes on each potential office space after each tour so your thoughts will stay fresh when it comes time to choose.

Investigate Each Building’s Directory – It’s always wise to look at a potential space’s other occupants to see whether or not there’s a competitor occupying another office facility. It may be unlikely at the outset, but if you don’t do your homework, participating in an office tour there will be a waste of your time.

Questions to Ask the Landlord’s Agent

#1. What’s the landlord’s build-out policy?

As we’ve covered previously and more in-depth, it’s important to consider the various types of build out styles and to determine which is best for your company’s situation. If the landlord will be flexible and negotiate different tenant improvement allowances, it’s a good sign that they’ll be helpful and responsive throughout the life of the lease. However, if they’re committed to a single TI allowance type that doesn’t align with your budget and preferences, you should look elsewhere.

#2. What kind of maintenance is included in the lease?

Some landlords include a shared building maintenance fee to keep after-hours access controlled; others require tenants to provide their own janitorial and upkeep. Either way, it’s important to know who to call should your heating, elevator, or electrical goes down during the workday.

#3. What’s the process to install Internet and telephone services?

Depending on your industry, you may have very little need for high-end internet access, but for companies working in software development or professional services, it’s critical to have a stable, fast connection in today’s modern world. Ask about the available ISPs and whether an infrastructure upgrade would be included in a TI allowance.

#4. What’s lobby access like?

As with your clients and customers, seeing the condition of the lobby during your tour will provide you a great first impression for the building. But going beyond appearances, you’ll want to ensure your employees, and yourself, have access to the building after hours and on weekends as well as preventing unauthorized visitors to your floor.

It’s also worth touring the building during busier hours in the morning, at noon, or around 5 PM. If it’s crowded and uncomfortable for your employees as they come and go, it could be a negative factor when compared to other properties.

#5. How many tenants are in the building?

Common in commercial leases are cost-sharing for shared areas, maintenance, and upkeep fees, so it’s important to know how many other tenants are in the building itself. On the other hand, it’s useful to know how busy the elevators and lobby will be throughout the day, as cramped shared areas can be headaches for employees and visitors alike.

During Your Tour

Check the parking garage – You’ll want to provide your customers and employees ample parking, but most buildings only provide a select number of dedicated parking spaces for each tenant. Drive through the parking garage and see just how busy the building is during a workday before negotiating for more parking. You might also check on the availability and access to public transit around and near the building itself – that may be a strong benefit for commuting employees.

Consider the restrooms and common areas – Again, you’ll want to analyze a potential space’s benefits for your employees and visitors. Ask for the location of the floor’s main restrooms and see how busy they are for the space provided, but take close account of the cleanliness of shared areas and the restrooms to consider the property management’s attention to detail.

There’s also the question of amenities – does the building provide an onsite gym, locker room, or shower facilities? These are small, but crucial features that could help you attract talent in the future as your company continues to grow and expand.

Keep your cards close to your chest – Commercial real estate brokers are always looking for opportunities to gain an advantage in a potential future negotiation. It’s important that even if you’re in love with a property to keep that between you and your tenant representation broker. Showing your enthusiasm toward a space will strengthen the landlord’s side and only wind up hurting you in the negotiation process. It’s also important to disclose that you’re looking at other properties – just don’t say which ones. If a landlord’s leasing agent asks you specific questions about your situation, direct them to your own representative.

Look for signs of construction – Is the building itself under development? Will that impact day-to-day operations? If so, for how long? You should also consider neighboring buildings and development projects that could impact parking, traffic, and noise levels in your new office facility.

After Your Tours

Make a list of priorities – Taking detailed notes after each tour will help you regroup with your broker after you’ve seen each property. While you don’t necessarily have to choose between the selection you’ve seen, it’s important to work with your broker to narrow down your list of priorities based on the properties you’ve seen. Go through each one with pros and cons to help your broker better understand what your needs are now that you’ve toured their first samples.

Ask for references – If you want to get a better picture of a tenant’s relationship with a prospective landlord, feel free to reach out to others in the building to see what their experience has been.

Return without representation – While you won’t get a private tour of the space, be sure to revisit the property during a different hour of the day than your initial visit to get a better idea of the level of foot traffic. Visiting during lunchtime or near the end of the day will give you a better idea of the volume of people coming and going, which could have an impact on the experiences of your employees and customers.

While a guided tour will certainly provide you an opportunity to judge the space and the leasing or management staff, you should also bring in others in your organization for a private walkthrough, if possible, if you’re strongly considering a vacant space. And while this process is always challenging, the excitement of finding the next stage for your company is a worthwhile endeavor, but keeping a commercial tenant representation broker involved throughout the search is a major benefit to business owners of every size.

Now that you’re equipped to venture forth and find a suitable new space for your company, the search can begin in earnest. It’s an exciting endeavor, but one you’ll need to pursue carefully. No matter where you’re located, it’s easier than ever to find a great location for an expansion or first office that matches both your budgetary and workplace needs.

When Your Office Feels Like a Vacation: 8 Amazing Office Tours

Talk about #officegoals

camille styles is hiring a studio & production manager

Though we think Camille Styles HQ is pretty cool, we’re the first to admit that we’ve got nothing on these eight amazing offices across the U.S. (Camille, where’s our manicure bar?!)

With amenities like gourmet coffee bars, conference rooms cleverly hidden behind color-coordinated bookshelves, and rooftop patios boasting sweeping views, working at these offices is almost as good as taking an actual vacation.

And while some of the spaces that made our list of the most amazing offices to work in serve as company HQs, the good news is that you don’t have to quit your job or move across the country to work your way into most of these. From co-working spaces you can drop into for the day to members only clubs like The Wing (which thankfully is opening outposts in new cities on what feels like the daily), there are plenty of ways to work in style . Now, to just convince your boss to give your own workspace an Instagram-worthy makeover…

The Wing Brooklyn

It would be hard to put together a list of amazing offices without including The Wing . The shot above, courtesy of Marie Claire , is of the female membership club’s Brooklyn location—which boasts hidden conference rooms behind those bookcases, a wellness room for fitness classes, a vintage photo booth, and a wine-serving café. If you can’t make it out to New York, don’t worry: the brand just opened up an Italian Rivera–inspired outpost in LA, and has outposts in Chicago, Boston, Washington, D.C, and San Francisco—with more in the pipeline.

Made By We office

Like The Wing, you really can’t have a roundup of incredible working spaces that skips co-working pioneer We Work. The company’s latest venture is Made by We , a space that is part-office/part-boutique designed with small businesses in mind. The first high-design location opened earlier this year in NYC, and according to Curbed , comes complete with 100 seats and six pretty conference rooms that can be booked for as little as 30 minutes or as much as an entire day without a membership. As for the vacation part of the equation? You can take a break from the grind by grabbing a flat white and avocado toast at Aussie favorite Bluestone Lane, flick through the lounge space’s collection of art books and magazines, and shop the retail space for indie merch.

Bumble

When it comes to amazing offices, tech companies have always led the way (think Google’s slide and Facebook’s drool-worthy cafeteria), but Bumble ’s Austin headquarters takes things to a whole new level. As the shot from Architectural Digest above shows, the dating app’s office brings the female-focused dating (and friendship, and business) app to life with honey-yellow walls, honeycomb accents, and playful art. The collaborative space is designed to tap into the hive mind of employees, who, when they’re not buzzing away at their desks, can get a professional blowout and manicure in the glam room, take a meditation break, or grab a beer at the office bar.

man repeller office closet

Man Repeller

As an avid fashion lover, I’ve followed Man Repeller since founder Leandra Medine ran the website out of her parents’ apartment in NYC. Now, the full-blown media company has expanded into chic new digs designed to host its growing roster of employees, and be a place where the thriving online community they’ve created can meet IRL (seriously, if you need a pick-me-up, head to MR’s comments section). Though the office doesn’t feature as many plush amenities as some of the others on this list, it does bring the website’s quirky vibe to life with inspiring décor, plenty of lounge spaces, and a fashion closet to die for.

neuehouse hollywood

As most working Angelenos know, you never (and I mean never!) turn down a meeting at NeueHouse in Hollywood. The second location of the swishy NYC-based creative co-working space is one of the most amazing offices in the city. And, as Architectural Digest details in its tour of the property, it boasts Hollywood history that runs back to the industry’s golden age when the building served as home to CBS Radio Broadcasting. Today, you’ll find the sleek space packed with creatives working on the next-big-thing—in between soaking up the office’s front-row view of the Hollywood sign out on the rooftop patio, that is.

the penny hoarder office

The Penny Hoarder

Office Lovin ’s look around the St. Petersburg, Florida offices of The Penny Hoarder should give you a pretty good idea of how the media company’s team of creatives makes personal finance fun. The sprawling space is full of playful (but not distracting) design and amenities, including air hockey and shuffleboard tables, trophy dinosaurs mounted on the walls of the lounge spaces, and plenty of greenery.

airbnb office

When we’re talking about offices that make you feel like you’re on vacation, AirBnB ’s San Francisco headquarters is a complete no-brainer. The travel company’s digs bring its global network to life with working spaces designed to look like AirBnBs around the world. As Office Lovin’s tour of the space shows, employees can feel like they’re globe trotting while running between meetings with conference rooms designed to look like log cabins or tents, cafés designed to look like Mumbai and Cairo, and banks of desks set in a space inspired by an industrial residence in Johannesburg.

The Jane Club

The Jane Club

Founded by actress June Diane Raphael (who plays Jane Fonda’s daughter on Grace and Frankie ), The Jane Club kicks the female co-working space model pioneered by The Wing up a notch. Located inside a charming cottage in LA, the amazing small office space is designed with working mothers in mind—offering an on-site childcare facility (that looks straight out of a Wes Anderson movie, to boot), Spanish classes, and chef prepared meals to members. Everything about the space is designed to encourage collaboration and enact positive change in members lives, so an on-site meditation studio, group fitness classes, and plenty of alfresco collaborative work space comes standard. Its a concept that has proved so popular that according to Harper’s Bazaar , the Jane Club’s waitlist is 600-people long—and we’re definitely rooting for the start up to expand across the U.S.

Moscow metro tour: architectural styles of the subway.

office tour bank

Duration: 2 hours

Categories: Culture & History, Sightseeing

This metro tour of Russia’s capital and most populous city, Moscow, is your chance to get a unique insight into the beautiful and impressive architecture of the city's underground stations. Admire their marble walls and high ceilings representing Stalin's desire for glory after World War 2, and see first-hand how the interiors change with the rise of new political eras. Your guide will lead you through the complex network, which is one of the most heavily used rapid transit systems worldwide, with over two billion travelers in 2011.

Opened in 1935, Moscow’s underground system, now 190 miles (305 km) long with 185 stations, is today one the largest and most heavily used rapid transit systems in the world. On this Moscow metro tour, discover the impressive architecture of Moscow’s underground stations and learn how they reflect the Soviet era.

Getting around by metro, your local guide will take you through parts of Moscow’s infamous history. Stop at stations built during the time of the USSR (Soviet Union) that are praised as one of the most extravagant architectural projects from Stalin’s time. After World War 2, he was keen on establishing Stalinist architecture to represent his rising regime and a recognized empire. Learn how when his successor started the de-Stalinization of the former Soviet Union in 1953, the extravagancy of the architecture was toned down.

Discover how the unique character of each station reflected several different eras. While stations like Kievskaya and Slavyansky Bulvar have pompous halls and high stucco ceilings brimming with extravagant decorations, those built later, like Volzhskaya, are lightly adorned with sparse furnishings. Architect Alexey Dushkin and painter Alexander Deyneka were just two of the many artists who made these magnificent landmarks possible.

Revel in Moscow's glory days, as well as the years of scarcity, on this fascinating Moscow metro experience. Conclude your tour at one of the central stations in Moscow. If you're lucky, you may even find the secret entrance to the unconfirmed Metro-2, a parallel underground system used by the government -- a mystery which has neither been denied nor confirmed today.

Culture Shock Rating

We have a wide range of tours designed to give you an insight into the destination you're travelling in and there is something for everybody. The culture shock ratings considers the destination visited, transport used, activities undertaken and that "Wow, I'm really not at home now!" factor. While generalisations are always tricky, a summary of our gradings is as follows…

This is the least confronting of our tour range. Transport used on the trip is either private or a very comfortable public option, the activities included are usually iconic sites and locations that are not all too confronting.

The tour can include a mix of private and public transport providing a level of comfort that is slightly below what you would experience at home. Sites visited are usually iconic sites, tours can also include market visits, visits to communities etc that provide the traveller with a fantastic insight into destination.

Expect to rough it for parts of this tour, whether it's a packed public bus where you are forced to stand, a visit to a local market, a local community, you are sure to have an experience that is very different from what you're used to at home.

The comforts of your home town and the environment you are used to are more of a rarity. Expect some challenging transport options, visits to local sites and areas that don't resemble anything at home.

You're out there in the global community! You are likely to be exposed to the elements, travel in whatever means of transport is available and basically take it as it comes, whatever comes! It can be tough.

Physical Rating

Our physical rating gives you an idea of how much huffing and puffing you can expect on the tour. While generalisations are always tricky, a summary of our gradings is as follows…

These tours have very limited physical activity. Usually climbing in and out of the transport provided, walking through sites, markets etc included in the itinerary.

These tours have a bit of physical activity but nothing that should challenge you too much. This could be climbing on and off public transport through to a walk through the destination you're travelling in, they can include walking only tours or a combination of walking and transport.

These tours involve a bit of physical activity from walking up and down hills in the destination you're travelling in or the surrounding areas. Climbing on and off local transport or riding a bike up to 30 kms along predominantly flat terrain or jumping in a kayak for a gentle paddle on flat water.

These Tours will provide you with some solid physical activity. Whether its bike riding, walking, trekking, kayaking or riding on public transport you will need to have a good level of fitness to enjoy this tour.

Be prepared for some serious physical activity. These tours are our most challenging and involve some serious walking, hiking or bike riding. Can involve step climbs by foot or pedal and some challenging public transport options in the destination you are travelling.

Luxury Rating

Some trips are like a stroll on the beach, while others have you trekking alpine passes. Some of you thrive on camping out on the savannah, while others may prefer a hot shower and a comfortable bed in a lodge. Follow the grading systems below to find the right trip for you.

To help you choose the trip that's right for you, we've broken all of our trips down into four service levels. Measuring the comfort level of the accommodation and transport. So whether you're travelling on a budget and want to save money by using public transport, or prefer upgraded accommodation and are happy to pay a little more, then we have a level for you.

BNP, Tour bank, 1966

As for the previous editions of the Tour de France, BNP makes available to the followers – officials, journalists, advertisers, technical directors and racers – its mobile banking van system. This lets it provide banking services at each stage town. The principle? Before each stage arrival, the bank employees collect funds from the local office of the BNP and man their bank counter from 4:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Cashing, payments, currency sales and foreign currency exchanges are some of the many operations they perform for the Tour de France village.

After the 1967 edition, BNP took a 5-year hiatus. It resumed its “Tour Bank” position from 1973 to 1987. It signed a contract with l’Equipe and the Parisien Libéré that gave it the exclusive banking service rights on the Tour de France in 1973, 1974 and 1975. Henceforth three vehicles criss-crossed the routes of France. These were two luxury cars and a mobile banking van that accompanied the Tour de France caravan. On the road and during the stage, advertising messages are broadcast by speakers. This sporting partnership was an opportunity for the BNP to associate its image with that of a powerful social event and to make itself known with the general public. It was associated with this race until 1987.

If BNP Paribas has been associated with Tennis since 1973, its first sporting involvements go back to the 1950s. Rights Reserved: J. Decoux

Frankie capan iii shoots first-round 58 on korn ferry tour.

Saturday is typically moving day in 72-hole professional golf tournaments. Thursday, however, was a day for Frankie Capan III to move into the record books.

The 24-year-old from North Oaks fired a 13-under-par 58 in the opening round of the Korn Ferry Tour's Veritex Bank Championship in Arlington, Texas. The mark broke the course record of 59, set in 2020 by current World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler.

Capan's mark is the sixth sub-60 score on the Korn Ferry Tour in the past 12 months. In February, Cristobal Del Solar shot a 13-under 57 during the opening round of the Astara Golf Championship in Columbia and Aldrich Potgieter shot 59 later that same week.

On Thursday, Capan began his round with a par before going on a torrid pace. He eagled No. 9 to round out a 29 on the front nine. He then rattled off seven consecutive birdies before settling for par on Nos. 17 and 18.

Capan said excitement crept in on the final green and that last putt, a 7-footer.

"When someone said it was for 58, I was excited because I know Scottie Scheffler shot 59, so whenever you can beat that guy, especially nowadays, I mean, you've got to take advantage," Capan told reporters in Texas after the round.

Capan, who played last year's 3M Open in Blaine on a sponsor's exemption and made the weekend cut, finished 51st on the 2023 Korn Ferry Tour money list. He entered this week 30th through eight events — right on the line for a 2025 PGA Tour card.

A top finish this week would be a giant catapult.

"It was a lot of fun out there," Capan said. "After the first four, five holes, I just felt really comfortable with my game and where I was at.

"I've been putting a lot of work in the last few weeks and really the last few months just trying to dial a few things in. I think it all kind of came together."

Fun facts from our Moscow Metro Tours:

From the very first days of its existence, the Moscow Metro was the object of civil defense, used as a bomb shelter, and designed as a defense for a possible attack on the Soviet Union.

At a depth of 50 to 120 meters lies the second, the coded system of Metro-2 of Moscow subway, which is equipped with everything you need, from food storage to the nuclear button.

According to some sources, the total length of Metro-2 reaches over 150 kilometers.

The Museum was opened on Sportivnaya metro station on November 6, 1967. It features the most interesting models of trains and stations.

Coffee Ring

The first scheme of Moscow Metro looked like a bunch of separate lines. Listen to a myth about Joseph Stalin and the main brown line of Moscow Metro.

Zodiac Metro

According to some astrologers, each of the 12 stops of the Moscow Ring Line corresponds to a particular sign of the zodiac and divides the city into astrological sector.

Astrologers believe that being in a particular zadiac sector of Moscow for a long time, you attract certain energy and events into your life.

Paleontological finds

Red marble walls of some of the Metro stations hide in themselves petrified inhabitants of ancient seas. Try and find some!

  • Every day each car in  Moscow metro passes  more than 600 km, which is the distance from Moscow to St. Petersburg.
  • Moscow subway system is the  5th in the intensity  of use (after the subways of Beijing, Tokyo, Seoul and Shanghai).

Moscow Metro

The Moscow Metro Tour is included in most guided tours’ itineraries. Opened in 1935, under Stalin’s regime, the metro was not only meant to solve transport problems, but also was hailed as “a people’s palace”. Every station you will see during your Moscow metro tour looks like a palace room. There are bright paintings, mosaics, stained glass, bronze statues… Our Moscow metro tour includes the most impressive stations best architects and designers worked at - Ploshchad Revolutsii, Mayakovskaya, Komsomolskaya, Kievskaya, Novoslobodskaya and some others.

What is the kremlin in russia?

The guide will not only help you navigate the metro, but will also provide you with fascinating background tales for the images you see and a history of each station.

And there some stories to be told during the Moscow metro tour! The deepest station - Park Pobedy - is 84 metres under the ground with the world longest escalator of 140 meters. Parts of the so-called Metro-2, a secret strategic system of underground tunnels, was used for its construction.

During the Second World War the metro itself became a strategic asset: it was turned into the city's biggest bomb-shelter and one of the stations even became a library. 217 children were born here in 1941-1942! The metro is the most effective means of transport in the capital.

There are almost 200 stations 196 at the moment and trains run every 90 seconds! The guide of your Moscow metro tour can explain to you how to buy tickets and find your way if you plan to get around by yourself.

Frankie capan iii shoots 58 on korn ferry tour, breaks scottie scheffler's course record, share this article.

It’s going to be a Thursday to remember for Frankie Capan III.

The 24-year-old shot 13-under 58 during the first round of the Korn Ferry Tour’s Veritex Bank Championship at Texas Rangers Golf Club in Arlington, Texas. The round included seven straight birdies on the back nine, a 29 on both sides and taking down World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler’s course record, which he set May 3, 2020.

His round started with a par before four consecutive birdies on Nos. 2-5. He added an eagle at the par-5 ninth to turn in 6-under 29.

On the back nine, the circles added up.

One. Two. Three. Four. Five. Six. Seven in a row before he finally made par at the par-4 17th. On the closing par-5 18th, his tee shot ended up in the fairway bunker, and he was unable to card another birdie for a 57.

FRANKIE CAPAN III! 58 (13-under) in the opening round of the @VBChampionship ! That breaks Scottie Scheffler’s course record here at Texas Rangers GC. @KornFerryTour | #KornFerryTour pic.twitter.com/QMESawDLhI — Will Doctor (@DrMedia59) April 25, 2024

Guess a 58 will have to do.

Texas Rangers Golf Club is a par-71 layout measuring 7,010 yards.

In February, Cristobal Del Solar became the first player in the history of professional golf to shoot 57 on a par-70 layout . Capan’s round is the 13th sub-60 score in Korn Ferry Tour history .

In 2019,  David Carey shot 11-under 57 on the Alps Tour at the Cervino Open .

With a pair of top-10 finishes coming into the Veritex Bank Championship, Capan was finding his rhythm. Hard to imagine he pictured a start like he put together Thursday.

What the New Overtime Rule Means for Workers

Collage shows four professionals in business casual clothing.

One of the basic principles of the American workplace is that a hard day’s work deserves a fair day’s pay. Simply put, every worker’s time has value. A cornerstone of that promise is the  Fair Labor Standards Act ’s (FLSA) requirement that when most workers work more than 40 hours in a week, they get paid more. The  Department of Labor ’s new overtime regulation is restoring and extending this promise for millions more lower-paid salaried workers in the U.S.

Overtime protections have been a critical part of the FLSA since 1938 and were established to protect workers from exploitation and to benefit workers, their families and our communities. Strong overtime protections help build America’s middle class and ensure that workers are not overworked and underpaid.

Some workers are specifically exempt from the FLSA’s minimum wage and overtime protections, including bona fide executive, administrative or professional employees. This exemption, typically referred to as the “EAP” exemption, applies when:

1. An employee is paid a salary,

2. The salary is not less than a minimum salary threshold amount, and

3. The employee primarily performs executive, administrative or professional duties.

While the department increased the minimum salary required for the EAP exemption from overtime pay every 5 to 9 years between 1938 and 1975, long periods between increases to the salary requirement after 1975 have caused an erosion of the real value of the salary threshold, lessening its effectiveness in helping to identify exempt EAP employees.

The department’s new overtime rule was developed based on almost 30 listening sessions across the country and the final rule was issued after reviewing over 33,000 written comments. We heard from a wide variety of members of the public who shared valuable insights to help us develop this Administration’s overtime rule, including from workers who told us: “I would love the opportunity to...be compensated for time worked beyond 40 hours, or alternately be given a raise,” and “I make around $40,000 a year and most week[s] work well over 40 hours (likely in the 45-50 range). This rule change would benefit me greatly and ensure that my time is paid for!” and “Please, I would love to be paid for the extra hours I work!”

The department’s final rule, which will go into effect on July 1, 2024, will increase the standard salary level that helps define and delimit which salaried workers are entitled to overtime pay protections under the FLSA.

Starting July 1, most salaried workers who earn less than $844 per week will become eligible for overtime pay under the final rule. And on Jan. 1, 2025, most salaried workers who make less than $1,128 per week will become eligible for overtime pay. As these changes occur, job duties will continue to determine overtime exemption status for most salaried employees.

Who will become eligible for overtime pay under the final rule? Currently most salaried workers earning less than $684/week. Starting July 1, 2024, most salaried workers earning less than $844/week. Starting Jan. 1, 2025, most salaried workers earning less than $1,128/week. Starting July 1, 2027, the eligibility thresholds will be updated every three years, based on current wage data. DOL.gov/OT

The rule will also increase the total annual compensation requirement for highly compensated employees (who are not entitled to overtime pay under the FLSA if certain requirements are met) from $107,432 per year to $132,964 per year on July 1, 2024, and then set it equal to $151,164 per year on Jan. 1, 2025.

Starting July 1, 2027, these earnings thresholds will be updated every three years so they keep pace with changes in worker salaries, ensuring that employers can adapt more easily because they’ll know when salary updates will happen and how they’ll be calculated.

The final rule will restore and extend the right to overtime pay to many salaried workers, including workers who historically were entitled to overtime pay under the FLSA because of their lower pay or the type of work they performed.

We urge workers and employers to visit  our website to learn more about the final rule.

Frankie Capan III shoots 58, breaks Scottie Scheffler's record at Veritex Bank Championship on Korn Ferry Tour

Capan had the chance to go even lower at texas rangers golf club on thursday.

frankie-capan-iii-korn-fery-tour-g.jpg

During a time in golf when seemingly every ranking and record belongs to Scottie Scheffler, one no longer does. Frankie Capan III fired a 13-under 58 in Round 1 of the Korn Ferry Tour's Veritex Bank Championship on Thursday to clip Scheffler's low mark at at Texas Rangers Golf Club in Arlington, Texas, by one. The world No. 1's 59 had stood as the course benchmark for four years.

The 24-year-old began his day with a par before rattling off four straight birdies to get his round rolling in the right direction. He remained at 4 under up until the par-5 9th where the big bird landed and allowed Capan to turn in 6-under 29. The eagle at the turn jump started Capan's round and was the appetizer for a back nine to remember.

Birdies from the blade of Capan came on the next seven (!) holes, getting him to 13 under on the par-71 layout with two holes remaining. After playing the stretch from Nos. 9-16 in 9 under, Capan still faced the chance to pick off a couple more, especially with a closing par 5 on deck.

The right hander carded his first par in a couple hours on the par-4 17th and was unable to put one last par breaker on his card after hitting his drive on the par-5 18th in the fairway bunker. Instead, Capan settled for par on the 18th and the second-ever 58 in Korn Ferry Tour history.

Capan's 58 adds to a growing list of sub-60 rounds on the Korn Ferry Tour over the last year. A couple months ago, Cristobol del Solar fired a 57 to set the record for the lowest round in a PGA Tour-sanctioned event. Aldrich Potgieter shot 59 later that same week in Colombia. In total, there have been 13 sub-60 rounds in the history of the Korn Ferry Tour with Capan's being the latest.
