Osaka Pro Tour Power

Introduction

The racket has a teardrop shape, medium balance, and a sweet spot located in the upper part of the impact surface. A higher density (30 kg/m3) Eva is used in the core and the frame is made of Japanese carbon fiber. It uses carbon fiber on the surface with an embossed 3D pattern.

Osaka Pro Tour Power 2020 first impressions

It’s our first experience with the brand Osaka, and we’re excited to see what it will bring. The first thing we notice is the rather unusual color combination. It seems to use quality materials, and the finish is good. We’re looking forward to trying it on the padel court. Our test racket weighs about 365 grams with one extra overgrip and the balance measures 240 mm. Considering it’s a power-oriented racket, the balance is low.

nimble_asset_osaka-power-1

Osaka Pro Tour Power 2020 on the padel court

The Pro Tour Power is light, it feels even lighter than its 365 grams. It’s not your typical head heavy and sturdy power racket. Starting at the back of the court, we test the defensive capabilities of the racket. It’s easy to handle and move quickly into the right positions. The high-density core offers good control and precision. Due to the low elasticity, softer shots suffer and the margin of error isn’t that big. The overall impression in the defensive game is positive, better than expected from a power-oriented racket. Moving on to the attacking game, we feel that the Osaka Pro Tour Power doesn’t live up to its name. It’s light, got a low balance, and is hard. This means you will have to generate a lot of power on your own, without much help from the racket. Short volleys that require precision is fine, but the overall positive feeling in the attacking game is just not there. The size of the sweet spot is more or less as expected from a teardrop-shaped racket. The feel and overall touch is firm due to its high-density core, and suits players looking for firmness. Despite being hard, the Pro Tour Power absorbs vibrations effectively. We like the 3D pattern on the surface, it’s well made and helps generate spin when needed. It’s been an interesting experience trying this new brand. The overall quality is most certainly there but we didn’t fall in love with it on the padel court. We are looking forward to trying more products from Osaka in the future.

Osaka Pro Tour Power 2020 overall impression

A padel racket inspired by Japan for players that want to try something different than the typical padel brands. It’s marketed as a power-oriented racket but doesn’t have the properties we are looking for in this type of racket. We can only recommend the Pro Tour Power for experienced players knowing exactly what they are after. Try first.

Osaka Pro Tour Limited Edition Soft

Osaka Pro Tour Limited Edition Soft

A padel racket named for its softer, gentler feel on the arm. With its medium-hard core and slightly lower than the average weight of 355-375 grams, it is easier for the player to handle and at the same time very helpful for offensive play. It is a drop-shaped model with medium balance and a large sweetspot, which is also great for putting speed on the balls. The roughened surface will help the experienced player with placing a great spin on the balls.

  • Racket Shape: Drop Shape
  • Recommended player performance level: beginners + skilled beginners/elite players
  • Suitable for the type of player: offensive players

Osaka Pro Tour Limited Edition

Osaka Pro Tour Limited Edition

This model has many similarities to its soft sibling. It is a drop-shaped model with a mid-level balance point and a large sweetspot, and together it gives the player a great advantage in offensive play. However, this racket is slightly heavier and its core is stiffer. It will provide even more power and control on the ball, as it slams into the right spot on the racket. On the other hand, this may inflict a higher risk of strain on the player’s arm.

  • Racket shape : Drop-shaped
  • Recommended player performance level : Recreational/competitive
  • Suitable for the type of player: Offensive players

Osaka Pro Tour Precision

Osaka Pro Tour Precision

A model of Osaka’s padel racket that has been designed to be more of an all-round racket. A round-shaped model with a smooth balance and a softer core provides good control in the game and is gentle on the player’s muscles and joints. The roughened hitting surface can influence good spin on the balls.

  • Racket shape : Round
  • Recommended player performance level: from beginners to experienced players
  • Suitable for: all-round, mostly offensive players

Osaka Pro Tour Power Soft

Osaka Pro Tour Power Soft

A drop-shaped model with a large sweetspot, which allows for more hits to the ball. Despite if the shot is a little off target, the frame is specially designed with 3D technology to minimize imbalance and enhance precision.

  • Racket shape: Drop-shaped
  • Recommended player performance level: Intermediate-advanced
  • Suitable for game type: Offensive players

Osaka Vision Pro Power Soft

Osaka Vision Pro Power Soft

A padel racket that is kind to the player’s muscles and joints, as it has a relatively lightweight feel, soft core, and medium balance. This, together with a large sweetspot and the drop-shaped model, makes it suitable for skilled intermediate and advanced players who like offensive play. The soft core and stiff frame provide the game with both control and speed. Players with enough experience can take advantage of the roughened wooden surface to get some curve balls away.

  • Racket shape: Drop-shape
  • Recommended player performance level: beginners + advanced/elite players

Osaka Vision Pro Power

Osaka Vision Pro Power

A padel racket with a hard surface and core, to give more power to the balls and stability to the racket. Its weight is between 370 and 390 grams, and there is some extra weight on it to provide the player with extra power in their hits. In order for the frame to be stable without making the racket heavier, it is equipped with 50 percent Japanese carbon and 50 percent carbon fiber.

  • Recommended player performance level: youth, intermediate, experienced
  • Suitable for the type of player: all-round

Osaka Vision Power

Osaka Vision Power

A drop-shaped padel racket designed primarily for beginners. However, it can also benefit those who want a bit of everything from their racket. As the balance is evenly distributed on this model, you can take advantage of characteristics both in terms of speed and control. This is especially nice for the beginner or those with weaker muscles and joints, as it is lighter in weight and the hitting surface is made of fiberglass.

  • Racket shape: drop-shaped
  • Recommended player performance level: beginners and advanced players

Osaka Vision Precision

Osaka Vision Precision

The larger sweetspot on this model of padel racket makes it even easier for the player to control the direction of the ball, while at the same time making it easier for the player to get a grip on the ball thanks to a roughened hitting surface. It is easy to play with, both because of its lighter weight as well as a better combination of a stiff frame and well-controlled padel racket.

  • Racket shape: Round
  • Recommended player performance level: Beginners / Amateurs
  • Suitable for the type of player: Offensive players

Osaka Vision Deshi

Osaka Vision Deshi

An easy-to-play padel racket with a large sweetspot and a low balance point. The player gains better control of their racket and at the same time, the game is more gentle on the player’s muscles and joints. Both the frame and the hitting surface are made of the soft material fiberglass, so it produces softer hits.

  • Recommended player performance: beginner
  • Suitable for the player type: all-round

Osaka Vision Deshi Kids

Osaka Deshi Vision Kids

This model for the younger players is narrower than the adult model and has a lighter weight of 280-300 grams. It is a children’s racket that is also gently designed, with a large sweetspot and low balance point. It will be easier for players to get a good hit and the hits will not inflict too much stress on them and their joints.

  • Recommended player performance level: Children aged 3-7

Description

The Pro Tour range is constructed using 18K Textreme carbon.  Textreme carbon is a spread tow fabric built to the highest standards.  Spread tow fabrics are smoother and flatter than traditional woven cloth fabrics that offer a more consistent playing experience at a lower weight.

The Pro Tour Control is a round-shaped racket ideal for more defensive- and control-oriented players, The central position of the sweet spot creates an intuitive sense of play that will acclimatize you to the racket immediately. Also, the maximized face forgives many lesser-struck balls. This is a great racket for a wide-level range of defensive players. In general, we would recommend this shape to forehand players.

Osaka Pro Tour Control Touch Padel Racket

Couldn't load pickup availability

Short Description

The Pro Tour range has been developed using some of the highest quality materials on the market and the Vision Pro is no exception. This   Padel Racket  has been constructed using the Osaka 18K Textreme carbon face, this is then paired with the well loved touch foam core making this the ideal platform for a control orientated intermediate to advanced level Padel player.

Osaka World was founded with the commitment to fuse sports heritage with lifestyle. They have taken inspiration from Japanese culture and design to now produce some of the top performing Padel Equipment to date. The Osaka Padel Rackets and gear are not only top quality but also aesthetically appealing which we tend to agree with. So when it comes to  Padel Balls , rackets and other Padel Accessories  you know you in good company with Osaka. And the Vision Pro series is no exception.

The core of this racket is constructed with the Trademarked Osaka Touch Foam which  is slightly denser than its softer counterpart, but offers some very similar properties. It was also designed   specifically to increase sweet spot-size, but then seeks to offer more control and precision. We achieved this through   developing a slightly less-bouncy foam that allows players to place the ball where they want it around the Padel Court with added precision. The core is then surrounded by a double stage frame construction, which consists of two distinct stages. In the first stage, the frame is formed using a twin-tube frame moulding process which   creates the stiffest, most durable frames structure to date. While in the second stage, the foam is then added into the frame and the face fabrics are applied. This double stage process has allowed Osaka to produce thinner frames with the same properties as their thicker counterparts. The width of these frames varies between 6-9mm. The frame and core are then covered with the highly coveted 18K Textreme carbon. The Textreme carbon is a spread tow fabric built to the highest standards.  Spread tow fabrics are smoother and flatter than traditional woven cloth fabrics that offer a more consistent playing experience at a lower weight.

But that's not all, the frame is also further protected by a beautifully designed and shaped clear TPU bumper,   this bumper has a maximum depth of 2,5mm and weighs around 11 grams. Giving you added protection against impacts with a low added weight. Lastly, the face is finished with a sand surface coating which is  a finishing process that has been used for over a decade, in this process resin coated sand particles are   sprayed onto the surface of the rackets. These sand particles form tiny holds for the felt fibres on Padel Balls that further increase   the spin applied to the ball with each contact. Underneath this we still see the great decals and Yellow accents making this racket a great example of a design conscious brand.

So if you are the type of player that like to control the court and you are looking to take your game to the next level then the Osaka Pro Tour Control Touch Padel Racket is the perfect solution.

How Does the Osaka Custom Pro Control perform?

Racket customization.

Osaka is a Belgian brand that is famous for its field hockey sticks. With the explosion of padel in the Low Lands, they began making padel gear with a very modern approach and clean style that I really appreciate.  After successfully launching a customizable field hockey stick, they've applied the same to the new Custom Pro racket. I was happy to give it a try.  What you can customize: - several colors on the racket face - the colors along the racket frame - a text name (up to 15 characters) Note: You can not remove the Osaka branding, nor can you add any imagery (I asked about adding the Padel.FYI logo).  It was a fun experience to design the racket, but I wish I had a bit more flexibility regarding color selection and minimizing the Osaka branding. Overall, I'm pretty bad at branding, but I tried to combine the color of Mondo padel courts with the green of the Padel.FYI logo.

Racket specifications

It is a medium hardness, medium balance, round-shaped racket with a relatively rigid surface.  The racket has a cuffed cinching wriststrap that goes up to a relatively short, narrow handle with an under grip that has strong absorption. This goes up to a multi-triangular bridge at which point begins the sandpaper roughness that covers the entire racket surface - frame to face.

On the court

From the first sensations, it's clear that this is a medium, medium-hard control racket. It feels like the surface is quite hard and the foam is quite soft, which gave me a versatile feeling of precision and a bit of power when I asked for it. But it also felt somehow lacking solidity and like it might be fragile. This is partially the result of its low weight and balance.  From the back of the court, it's a great defender. It's very fast, you'll always have plenty of time. The sweet spot is very much centered, which felt very easy to find, but when I missed it, I noticed the drawbacks of the rigidity of the carbon. Overall though, it's a great racket for an intermediate and up player who wants a medium, medium-hard touch and maneuverability. In bandejas, it definitely feels light, but I enjoyed the rigidity here. It allowed me to accelerate my bandejas and especially my viboras without worrying about hitting the wall. It's not as fun for slow blocks and rulos to the side fence or wall as it is for rapid viboras to the corner because it asks you to use your arm. With slow shots, you'll really miss your target if you contact the ball on the edge of the sweet spot.  At the net, you'll feel like a ninja – swift and precise. The sandpaper roughness will have you slicing through volleys with the confidence of a seasoned pro. It delivers the sensation of grabbing the ball with each slice.

Our test of the Osaka Custom Pro Control

Expert reviews of the osaka custom pro control.

Extremely fast, very precise, and fun to use.

Adequate power, when you get the timing right.

Extremely fast and easy to maneuver all around the court.

Great precision at high and low speeds. Semi-hard surface doesn't absorb much.

The ball feels quite dead when you miss the sweet spot, which is located in the center of the racket face.

Osaka Pro-Tour 100 2.0 Low Bow Review

Osaka Pro-Tour 100 2.0 Low Bow Review post thumbnail image

  • Stick Review

osaka pro tour control review

You have to love Osaka! Now an established brand in the world of hockey sticks, the 2.0 range builds on the amazing sticks we have review in the past, using that amazing carbon technology alongside the style and layup which performance hockey players have become used to.

The latest Pro-Tour range features numerous material makeups and bow shapes, this review focuses on the 100% carbon model with the Low-Bow. Osaka’s low-bow is a traditional layup with the steep 24mm bow just 200mm from the head of the stick, making it great for those creative 3D players who like to have range in lifting the ball.

Overall Score: 4.8 out of 5 stars

The Osaka Pro Tour is a high-performance hockey stick that is designed for players who demand the best. It is made from a high-quality carbon fiber that is lightweight and stiff, and it features a low bow that provides excellent power and control. The stick also has a large sweet spot that makes it easy to hit hard shots with accuracy.

Performance:

The Osaka Pro Tour is a very responsive stick that feels great in your hands. The low bow gives you a lot of leverage, and the carbon fiber construction makes the stick very stiff, so you can really put some power into your shots. The large sweet spot also makes it easy to hit hard shots with accuracy, even if you don’t make perfect contact with the ball.

The Osaka Pro Tour is a very comfortable stick to use. The grip is soft and tacky, and the stick is well-balanced, so it doesn’t feel heavy or cumbersome. The carbon fiber construction also makes the stick very responsive, so you can feel the ball on the blade and make adjustments to your shots accordingly.

Durability:

The Osaka Pro Tour is a very durable stick. The carbon fiber construction is able to withstand a lot of abuse, and the stick is also well-reinforced at the toe and heel. I have used this stick for several months now, and it is still in excellent condition.

The Osaka Pro Tour is a premium hockey stick, and it is priced accordingly. However, I believe that the stick is worth the investment. It is a high-quality stick that will provide you with years of performance.

Overall, the Osaka Pro Tour is an excellent hockey stick that is perfect for players who demand the best. It is a well-made stick that is designed for performance, and it is also very comfortable to use. I highly recommend this stick to any player who is looking for a top-of-the-line hockey stick.

The  Osaka Pro Tour 100 Low Bow  is the creme de la creme of the Osaka Hockey range. Available in a range of different bows, it’s the Low Bow that is our favorite.

Constructed of  98% Japanese Carbon fibre , wrapped together in twenty-two layers creates a  seriously powerful stick!

Starting at the bottom, you’ll find a  maxi-head  leading up into quite an aggressive profile. With the maximum bow profile being 200mm from the head with a maximal height of 24mm. Continuing up, the  soft-touch grip  that comes standard on the Osaka Pro Tour 100 range is superb. The chamois style feel is thanks to the Vibrastop foam layer underneath. We found from testing the stick that it is comfortable on the hand, so you don’t need to modify it with additional grips, like many of the leading brands.

Top class control padel racket from Osaka! With Osaka Pro Tour Control Touch 2023 (Green/Yellow) you get a high end racket with 18k Textreme carbon fibers woven from Japanese carbon. The relatively hard frame combined with a round head and head-light balance makes the racket ideal for the defensive-oriented player who turns defense into offense with intelligence and precision.

The surface is also produced from carbon, and the rough, sandpaper-like texture gives you a little extra grip on the ball. The foam in the racket's core is EVA foam, Osaka's Touch Foam, which is a bit harder than Osaka's Snap Foam in order to provide this racket with even more touch and accuracy.
