Apart from growing Sillery the forefathers of Sillery Gaon were cinchona planters that were planted there by the British for the production of Quinine to cure Malaria, and there were only 30 families, in the beginning, habilitating in Sillery Gaon. Surrounded by lush pine trees Sillery Gaon is the haven of varieties of exotic bird species, which makes it an ideal place for passionate bird watchers. And travelers can witness the panoramic view of the Himalayan range along with the town of Sikkim, Jeep La, and Nathula from a hilltop near Sillery Gaon known as Tinchuley. A visit to the Damsang Fort, located 4 km away from Sillery Gaon is also worth a visit.

The fort was constructed in 1690 by the Lepchas. However, only the ruins of the fort exist now, since it was destroyed by the British, post-Anglo-Bhutan War of 1864. Just after trekking a little upward from Damsang fort, you will get to see another sightseeing attraction named Hanuman Top. The tall sculpture of the Lord Hanuman made the place quite popular among tourists. From this site, you will also be able to get a sweeping panoramic view of the entire Kalimpong town and its surrounding areas.

The Silent Valley adjacent to Silery Gaon is another worth noting sightseeing site to visit. The entire hilly valley is surrounded by tall pine trees and the serenity of its atmosphere is able to soothe the minds of every distressed mind visiting it for the first time. The chirping of the numerous colorful Himalayan birds makes the valley quite a preferred one among the bird enthusiasts too. North Bengal Tour Package

Devindra Pal

Thanks to NatureWings for providing a magnificent North Bengal Tour Package for my family. 2 Nights Gangtok, 2 Nights Darjeeling and 1 Night at Kalimpong during 1 march to 6 March 20. The best thing of the arrangement was that they have provided the superior accommodation and vehicle. At every moment during tour their representative was in touch with us for the every help and guidance. What they have offered during booking, they were committed to that and arranged nicely keeping the view of rain and weather. The drivers were polite and punctual of time. Thanks for Inderjeet and Arpan to customize the requirements within my budget. I recommend that whenever anyone plan for a North East Package Tour , then have a word with NatureWings. They have expertise in customising the package within budget and beyond expectations.

North Bengal Tour

Rajkumar Samanta

Hailing from humid Kolkata, Sikkim, and Darjeeling occupies a special place inside us apart from being the nearest hill station. NatureWings was recommended to me by my brother in law who went to the Silk Route with them. I booked my trip for December 2019, and Mr. Akash from NatureWings actively took my call and provided me with a personalized itinerary. Their service was swift and even allowed me to make some changes on the trip. Our driver Mr. Tamang was a friendly person who treated and guided us very well, and his car was comfortable and well maintained. We got good view rooms, and the food served at both the places was fresh and hot. My trip went flawlessly, and thanks to the NatureWings team for their effort to make our trip a memorable one.

Silk Route Tour

Ankita Saha

Being a solo woman traveler, it is not easy to find a trusted travel agency, and as I had previously gone for a Bhutan Package Tour with NatureWings so thought of visiting the Silk route with them. NatureWings Silk Route specialist Mr. Akash provided me with an excellent budget-friendly itinerary covering the best sightseeing places and also allowed me to make the changes I urged. All my queries were answered patiently by him, and as I was traveling alone, so he provided me a good driver who guided me well and followed my custom itinerary. The wooden cottages booked for me in the green valley of Kolakham was beautiful, and the view from my room was like a dream come true, as I saw Mt. Kanchenjunga standing head up high from my balcony with floating clouds passing by. Mr. Indrajeet booked good, safe rooms near to the reception and made sure to make comfort calls every day. Kolakham and Charkhole have a charm of its own, smiling people, far from the crowded cities, in the lap of untouched nature with picturesque views of the mountains that we could only dream. I would love to explore other destinations with NatureWings and recommend others also.

Gangtok Tour

Pankaj Nath

It was a amazing trip. I liked the way you are planning. Hotels and drivers were very good. But there was only one thing which is not good and the thing is the wastage of food at the hotel in gangtok. They should ask their customers for their requirement of food. Otherwise it was a great experience with NatureWings. Thank you.
