This vessel is small, yet exquisite. Built to resemble a traditional Asian junk ship, it is named after the delicate Violet Chirita flower and offers a wonderful way to experience the beauty of Lan Ha Bay.

Due to the modest size of the Violet, there are only two types of room available. Deluxe rooms feature 20sqm of floor space, which extends out onto a 5sqm balcony, and an Italian marble bathroom with both a walk-in shower and a Jacuzzi. The four larger suites feature 1930s inspired Indochina décor and plush king-sized beds with a massive 38sqm of space on the upper deck.

Enjoy creative Vietnamese fusion cuisine in the boat’s dining room, serving seafood fresh from the Mekong and take drinks up on the sun deck in the evening. It’s here on the top level of the Violet that you can also take part in Tai Chi sessions each morning.

An elegantly relaxed experience in Lan Ha, an area which is quieter than Halong Bay.

Three decks of polished woodwork, Indochine decor and panoramic views of the UNESCO-protected bay fill this cruiser. Despite its large size, the Ginger is home to just ten cabins, ensuring there is still an intimate atmosphere awaiting you on board.

Take in those gorgeous emerald views during a morning Tai Chi lesson, whilst dining at the restaurant or from the comfortable sundeck. Then, explore the fabulous limestone scenery close-up with unforgettable kayaking, snorkelling and caving tours.

33 tours indochine

Ylang is the exquisite newest member of Heritage Line’s ship collection, that sails through Lan Ha Bay. Its sleek and luxurious design set to the backdrop of this jaw dropping scenery is a picture to behold.

Once in its expansive and stylish interior, you’ll find ten magnificent suites. Natural light floods the interior of this ship and your private suite is no exception, thanks to panoramic doors pulling you into the phenomenal scenery that floats by.  Be sure to further explore the natural wonders around you on your private balcony, which are a welcome feature of each suite.

On board you’ll experience delicious Vietnamese cuisine at the restaurant and bar, where you’ll be surrounded by 180-degree windows, offering perfect views of the bay.

Throughout the ship you’ll notice a splendid blend of Asian-Vietnamese design and local artisans decorate Ylang’s interior with hand-crafted paintings.

During the day, make the most of the invigorating activities on offer from kayaking to cycling and hiking through Cat Ba Island National Park. There is also a strong focus on wellness with activities on board ranging from yoga to early morning Tai Chi lessons on the upper deck.

After an active day on the water, relax in the Ylang spa, where you can indulge in a variety of treatments or make use of the sauna. For some downtime later in the evening head to the library salon or marvel at the stars from on top of the terrace deck.

33 tours indochine

Limestone outcrops blanketed in lush vegetation rise up from the still, jade-coloured water. Your boat glides smoothly across the glassy surface, the shapes and shadows of the islets changing as you navigate this watery paradise. This is Lan Ha Bay, the smaller, quieter and altogether more serene neighbour of Halong Bay.

Although belonging to a different province, Lan Ha is essentially an extension of Halong Bay and offers the same mesmerising scenery. Lying south-east of Cat Ba Island, fewer boats make their way to Lan Ha meaning you'll get to enjoy this idyllic setting without the busy crowds.

As you weave your way through the islands, you'll come across secluded bays, white sandy beaches and floating villages. There are caves to explore, islands to cycle on, and the pristine waters are perfect for swimming, snorkelling and kayaking.

Your luxury junk boat will be your home away from home as you explore Lan Ha Bay, and there are few experiences as magical as watching the sunrise from the comfort of your cabin, then watching it sink behind the sparkling water as the day draws to a close.

They were initially constructed in 1866 by the French. The Royal Palace is home to the current King Sihamoni. The neighboring Silver Pagoda stands out in its own distinctive way. The floor consists of 5,329 solid silver tiles to which the building owes its name. Next head to the National Museum, which houses the world's foremost collection of Khmer art. • 45 private villas

  • Two restaurants

Away from the bustle of Siem Reap, yet still just minutes from the temples of Angkor.

And indeed it does appear as a traditional Cambodian village on first sight, but you’ll soon notice intricate design touches and modern luxuries between the rusticity.

There are 45 private stilted and thatched villas, each built in a traditional style with carefully considered contemporary touches, with extensive use of reclaimed wood, expansive terraces, handpicked furniture and wonderfully spacious bathrooms with egg-shaped baths carved from local stone. 20 of the villas have their own outdoor plunge pools.

Two restaurants lie in the village, Hang Bay, which serves a fusion of cultural cuisine, and Bay Phsar, which has the feel of a local market and is the venue to try vibrant Cambodian flavours created using freshly picked ingredients including herbs from the organic garden and rice straight from the surrounding paddies.

One of the bars sits alongside the scenic 50m infinity pool but our favourite is the cigar and cocktail lounge, housed within a reconstructed century-old farmhouse that has shelves bursting with vintage liqueurs, gin and whisky, surely one of the coolest bars in Southeast  Asia .

End a day of temple exploration at the spa, an ancient looking temple offering age-old healing techniques and beauty recipes using indigenous ingredients.

Aside from temples, Phum Baitang offers a range of activities, including a kids’ club, private dining experiences and cooking classes, cultural excursions, trips to Tonle Sap and vintage jeep drives..

Explore Siem Reap's rural landscape beyond its temples, which has changed little since the days of Jayavarman VII. After a short drive from Siem Reap, visit a colourful contemporary pagoda to understand more of the importance of Buddhism in these rural communities and seek a blessing from the monks. Buy seasonal fruits straight from the tree, speak to families who have been baking sticky rice in bamboo for over 30 years and gain hands-on experience of the essential rural skills of the rice harvest, thatching, fishing, or even making a simple meal over an open fire.

Then, take an ox-cart ride through typical villages followed by an easy 20-minute walk to bring you to the vast Western Baray. An impressive engineering feat, this man-made reservoir was once integral to the complex Angkorian rice irrigation system which you will voyage by boat (depending on water level). This will be both an education and an adventure from a slower, more romantic era of travel. Then reach the villa, surrounded by rice paddies, across a stream to the north of a village where tourists are rarely seen and the greetings for visitors are warm and generous. This is a wonderful spot to relax in the quiet of the countryside and enjoy sunset drinks. While the chef prepares your dinner, wander across the levees of the rice paddies, look for fish traps, or walk a short distance to a viewpoint over the ancient reservoir, whilst listening to the elegance of traditional Khmer music played by local musicians, before enjoying your evening meal.

11 Days Fantastic Vietnam & Thailand

We enjoyed everything about our tour in Vietnam except the breakfast and stay at the Titan Hotel. The smell in the room was overbearing for 2 nights, we even purchased room spray but that didn't help. The breakfast selection was nothing to rave about. we decided to eat elsewhere in the am. Bau and Nguyen were excellent guides. When we arrived in Thailand, there were some issues with the transportation to the hotel. I would've been nice for Hoi An to let us know which company in they used for the tours, we didn't know until we landed and had to search the airport and make several calls. The guide, Honey Bee in Bangkok, spent more time on her phone than actually interacting with us. She was nice but nothing special. The guide in Chiang Mai, Indie, was excellent. She was flexible with us very informative. We would definitely recommend this tour to friends.

Our tour guide Kanarat (Naa) was fantastic. She was very helpful and friendly and invited our tour group for lunch with her family at her home. She still took us out in the free time of the tour when we didn't really know what to do. She was enthusiastic and helpful answering questions about Thai culture.

Ultimate Luxury Tour: Discovering Vietnam and Cambodia 12-Day Tour

Ultimate Luxury Tour: Discovering Vietnam and Cambodia 12-Day

The trip was excellent, the guides were very good, the responsiveness from the company was excellent, the arrangements was… a little stressful. We booked a year in advance and decided to extend our time at Siem Reap by a day to ensure we had time to do a sunrise there. Arranging this was a little complex because we were heading out in the off season when only 1 flight a day went, so the guides proposed itinerary didn’t match reality of what we could achieve before our flight. When I explained this and asked for half the itinerary for approximately half the price (there proposal was to do half the stuff but pay full price as if we were doing it all) I was challenged and had to explain it. I asked which hotel would be used and was told a hotel which looked very nice. Then we applied for a visa and had to put our hotel name down. Then when I asked for final confirmation it had changed! Thankfully for the better The comments in reviews I saw about the company being a broker didn’t really make much sense to me until we did the trip. We literally went from independent tour operator to independent tour operator at each place. They knew our itinerary and it worked but it meant we ended up picking up random people doing slightly different variations of tours. Not a problem per se, just a little mad! I’ve travelled all over the world and this is the only place I’ve seen it be done this way The one annoyance, but not enough to drop it an overall star was the fact that our itinerary was say, 12 days

We had an amazing vacation in Vietnam and Thailand. Realistic Asia took us through many spectacular landscapes in these two countries. Now we know the reasons why Ha Long Bay became a UNESCO world heritage, Sapa was unique with breathtaking rice terraces, Mekong Delta was a bright spot too, and Phuket beach was awesome! Thank Realistic Asia for giving us chance to experience lots of exciting activities like kayaking and eating delicious seafood on the cruise, walking in bamboo forest and riding a boat along Mekong river. Although we all felt tired, they were worth-trying experiences that we have never regretted doing in Asia. The transportation and accommodation during the trip were reasonable in their price. The travel advisor Gracy was supportive. Would highly recommend it, and thoroughly enjoyed!

Phuket Sailing Adventure Tour

Phuket Sailing Adventure

I had a great week exploring the islands around Phuket - the weather was perfect, scenery stunning and felt very lucky to experience this all from a sail boat rather than the crowded day tripper boats! Bruno and the rest of the crew looked after us well, the food exceeding my expectations (still not sure how our cook managed to produce the meals she did from the tiny galley kitchen!) although I think the first half of the week was better than the second. I enjoyed the itinerary, it was a great mix of relaxation and heading off on the kayaks and paddle boards or snorkelling - having all of the equipment on board was a definite highlight. We seemed to depart from the planned itinerary a little, but this wasn’t a problem. All in all would definitely recommend.

Luxury Indochina Tours & Trips Reviews

Overall my experience was excellent. The tour started out poorly because Intrepid had planned the tour to begin in Bangkok during a holiday period. The palace was closed because the king was in town (Intrepid should have known this and we did not get to see the palace) and the traffic getting out of Bangkok was very bad. It took 4 hours to go 78 miles. After that, the tour was as expected and very good.

Tour Highlights

Itinerary details.

This itinerary is just a suggestion for you to plan your vacation. We specialize in designing private customer-oriented tours so just let us know your interests and expectations, and we will be happy to create a tour that satisfies your preferences.

Hello Mandalay! When you arrive at the first stop of this long adventure, you will be greeted by your private tour guide who will be holding a sign with your name on it. Then, you will be transferred to your selected hotel. Your guide will assist you with the check-in process and leave you to freshen up.

Visit the main attractions in Mandalay. Kuthodaw Pagoda is situated at the foot of Mandalay Hill. There are 729 white pagodas there, forming a spectacular group of stupas. In each stupa, there is a slab with Buddhist scriptures engraved on it, which is why it is known as the world's largest book.

Among the ancient towns in Mandalay, Inwa is a must-visit. Because of the destruction caused during World War II, a large number of buildings in the ancient city were severely damaged but these scattered ruins are hidden among lush trees and farmland so people still lament this despite the amount of time that has passed.

Visit the Bagaya Monastery, which is said to be the oldest one in Inwa. The entire temple is made of teak and has remained intact after centuries of wind and rain. Unlike Myanmar's many temples, this temple looks particularly quaint and natural. Remember to walk around every room in the monastery (as some people don't do this) — you will see monks praying and local children studying there.

Later, have a relaxing visit to the ancient town of Amarapura. This calm and elegant town was once the short-term capital of Myanmar.

What makes Amarapura special is the famous 1,200-meter-long U Bein Bridge, which is the longest teak bridge in the world. All the timber used to build the bridge came from the former royal palace and it was built with precious teak. The elegant bridge is still standing after a century of erosion from the wind and rain. Take a short cruise on the lake to see the beautiful sunset over U Bein Bridge.

A visa is needed to enter Mandalay for Western travelers:

1. Either apply for a visa online at the embassy in your country or use the approval letter provided by Global Highlights along with your passport and a passport-size photo — you can apply for the arrival visa at the airports in Yangon, Mandalay, or Nap Pyi Taw. This service is free of charge.

2. You can access Mandalay via Singapore, Bangkok, and Guangzhou.

Hotels in Myanmar

To have a better travel experience, you are advised to choose higher ranking hotels for your trip in Myanmar because most of the old hotels built in the 1990s are not in very good condition and don't even have air-conditioning in the rooms. We have selected newly-built Western chains to ensure your comfort and all of the rooms are equipped with air-conditioning and have a minimum size of 30 meters squared.

After a leisurely breakfast in the morning, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Bagan.

Bagan is the essence of culture and religion in Myanmar and is not to be missed. In this 2-day tour, you will explore the most popular Nyuang U Market, get a real insight into the local people's lifestyle, and join in with a cooking class to learn how to make authentic local cuisine from a cooking expert. This cooking class is run by JICA, which is a Japanese non-profit government organization committed to improving environmental health, reducing epidemic diseases, enhancing education and the quality of life, and decreasing poverty in poor and underdeveloped countries.

There are thousands of legendary stupas in Bagan Archaeological Zone. Among these, we recommend you visit the exquisite Ananda Temple and Htilominlo Pahto where you will appreciate the beautiful clay engravings and interesting market nearby. Later on, finish the day's tour at the highest pagoda in Bagan — the Shwesandaw Pagoda. Please watch out for the steep steps when climbing to the top of the pagoda. You will be rewarded with the magnificent view of the ancient city and thousands of stupas during sunset.

Take a 40-minute flight from Bagan to Inle Lake.

Enjoy a 2-day getaway in the Inle Lake area. The scenery there is very beautiful as the mountains are surrounded by water, the water reflects the mountains, and countless birds are flying around. Take the chance to visit the 5-day market, Indein temples, and floating villages. You will also see the paddy fields where people live.

Highlight: Experience the most beautiful harmony between humans and nature in this idyllic land.

  • Visiting the Indein temples by boat is only offered during the rainy season from May to February.
  • Each raft can only accommodate four people including the rafters. We will provide a life jacket for you for safety.
  • The rafts are open-air so you are advised to take sunglasses and sunscreen to protect you from getting sunburnt.
  • Giving a tip of 1 USD per person to your rafter would be appreciated.

Your Myanmar tour will finish in its capital, Yangon.

This 2-day Yangon tour covers all the must-sees — explore Bogyoke Aung San Market, the National Museum of Myanmar, and the colonial district.

Take a slow circular train ride around the city to enjoy the scenery of Yangon's countryside and various open-air bazaars.

Visit the Shwedagon Pagoda during sunset when the soft sunlight covers the whole scenic area.

Highlight: Circular Train Ride

The circular railway is a very important mode of public transportation for the locals. The train has no air-conditioning but with its open windows and doors you won't feel too hot. Take this authentic train experience early in the morning when it's cooler. Taking this slow, shaking train ride from the busy and brightly lit urban area to the dilapidated houses and sparsely populated suburbs, it seems as though you have gone back in time.

You can also interact with the local people from a close proximity. During the ride, you will be able to get off the train to hang around the market, try some snacks, or relax in a café if you wish.

Fly to Ho Chi Minh City to discover Vietnam as part of your Indochina adventure!

This 2-day tour in Ho Chi Minh City will take you to Ben Tre, a beautiful town located in the Mekong Delta. This small town is perfect for experiencing the quiet riverside life and enjoying the charming pastoral scenery.

Return to Ho Chi Minh City and take a relaxing walk in the downtown area. Visit some of the key spots on a traditional cyclo.

Highlight: Take a canoe ride that's steered by a Vietnamese boatman through dense grove-lined canal tributaries in the Mekong Delta.

Fly from Ho Chi Minh City to Da Nang to start your cultural experience in the beautiful coastal city of Hoi An.

Have a leisurely walking tour in Hoi An Ancient Town. The value of Hoi An's heritage lies in the many well-preserved ancient buildings and streets, which reflect the organic combination of Chinese, Japanese, and Vietnamese cultures and architectural styles. They have not been damaged by war nor have they been demolished for the construction of high-rise buildings. Visit the Japanese Covered Bridge, Fujian Assembly Hall, the Old House of Tan Ky, and Tran Family Chapel — these are must-see heritage sites in Hoi An Ancient Town.

Highlight: Learn how to make a lantern in a workshop. The workshop is run by the Lifestart Foundation Workshop, a non-profit organization that inspires locals to create items and to improve their lives.

Take a 50-minute flight to arrive in the capital of Vietnam, Hanoi.

Your personal tour guide will take you to visit the must-see attractions: the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology, the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the Temple of Literature, Hoa Lo Prison, and to hang around the famous Old Quarter. Take this chance to learn about the history, culture, and the development of this amazing country.

Highlight: Navigate the Old Quarter to integrate into the vivid lifestyle of the locals with your local guide.

You will be picked up by the cruise staff and transferred to the port for your cruise in the scenic Halong Bay. It is good to enjoy this laid-back cruise to feel refreshed.

Halong Bay is about 160 kilometers away from Hanoi and it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There are hundreds of thousands of islands with karst hills making various fantastic shapes in the sea, which are very picturesque. You will have the chance to stop at some fishing villages and landmark islets, such as Fighting Cock Islet and Human Head Islet. The activities on the boat and stops will depend on the different cruise boats.

Highlight: Enjoy spending a beautiful night on the cruise boat in a quiet port.

Notes for the Halong Bay Cruise

  • The distance between Hanoi and Halong Bay is about 170 kilometers, taking 3–4 hours by car. There are no stops for sightseeing during the journey so have a good rest during this time.
  • Please advise us in advance if you are traveling with a baby and we will arrange for a crib to be placed in your room.
  • Meals are included on the cruise but drinks are excluded. If you want to buy some drinks or snacks before boarding the cruise boat, please let your tour guide know in advance so that he/she can find some shops for you to do so.

After you have disembarked from the cruise, you will be transferred to the airport for a short flight to Luang Prabang — the famous ancient capital and Buddhist center of Laos.

In Luang Prabang, there are many historical temples and stupas. Most of the locals are devout Buddhists, which may be why they are so kind and gentle.

Walk around the charming old town and immerse yourself into the cultural heritage. Visit the Royal Palace Museum, Wat Xieng Thong, and relax at the beautiful Kuang Si Falls. You will also have the chance to participate in a ritual Buddhist activity — to offer alms to the monks early in the morning.

Highlight: Have a unique Buddhist experience by joining the ritual of almsgiving with the local people.

Take these 2 days to have an in-depth exploration of Angkor Wat by yourself.

The important sites are Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom, the Bayon, Ta Prohm, Banteay Srei, the Cambodian Landmine Museum, Beng Mealea, and Preah Khan.

Highlight: Immerse yourself in the ancient civilization and religion by visiting these grand heritages.

  • The scenic area of Angkor Wat is very large and there are many historical sites, among which the Small Circle Tour and Big Circle Tour must be taken. Each circle tour takes a day to complete. Therefore, if you want to fully experience the excitement of Angkor Wat, you need to go through each lap and it will take at least 2 days to do this. We will get you 3-day tickets so if you feel tired and want to go back to your hotel to have a break, you can continue the visit later in the day or the next day.
  • The Small Circle Tour mainly concentrates on the temples and attractions in Angkor Wat. The distance between the opposite points and those closest to you is relatively close. The attractions can be reached on foot in a relatively short amount of time. If you visit the attractions fairly quickly, you can complete the tour in half a day, so the layout is commonly called a small circle.
  • The Big Circle Tour (or Grand Circuit Tour) is a route that connects the nearby attractions and temples around Siem Reap. Compared with the smaller circle, this one is relatively large. You can do the tour via tuk tuk, car, or other means of transportation, such as by bicycle. Generally speaking, half a day is not enough.

After discovering the mysteries of Cambodia, you can now be excited to visit Bangkok — the capital of Thailand.

There is so much to see and experience in vibrant Bangkok! Your guide will take you to visit the Grand Palace, the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, the Bangkok National Museum, and the Jim Thompson House. You are also advised to explore the local markets, spas, and parties in your free time.

Highlight: A lovely dinner will be included on a cruise along the Chao Phraya River. This is a great way to enjoy the city when it is lit up at night.

Use these free days to enjoy the colorful activities, delicious Thai food, and beautiful beaches in Phuket Island.

In the morning, you will be transferred to the airport for the flight back to Bangkok for your departure flight home. Farewell! We hope you have had a wonderful time with us!

Built in pink sandstone, the walls are covered in exquisitely preserved carvings of unusual delicacy. Ta Prohm is one of the most popular attractions of Angkor, and still partially lost to the jungle with huge trees growing from its ruined shell. In the afternoon, boat trip on Tonle Sap Lake, the largest fresh water lake in South East Asia; the heart of the Cambodian fishing industry and the lifeblood for millions of Khmers living on its shores and hinterland. Unlike all the other Khmer Temples it faces west, and was inspired by 12th C. Hinduism architecture. Its symmetrical towers are stylized on the modern Cambodian flag. Occupied continuously by Buddhist monks it’s still well preserved. Intricate bas-reliefs surround Angkor Wat on four sides. Each tells a story but the most celebrated of these is the mystical Churning of the Sea of Milk, located on the east wing.

Later embard on a trek with an elephant through interesting scenery to a delightful waterfall and stop for a traditional Lao lunch. The Yuri A. Gagarin State Scientific Research-and-Testing Cosmonaut Training Center is a Russian training facility responsible for training cosmonauts for their space missions. It is in Star City of Moscow Oblast, a name which may refer to the facility itself or to its grounds. (Read more about Yury Gagarin Cosmonauts training center )

The secret Star City was built to train Soviet cosmonauts, including Yuri Gagarin, the 1st man in space. Many other famous Russian cosmonauts trained here with Gagarin: German Titov, Valentina Tereshkova, the first female cosmonaut, and Alexei Leonov, the first cosmonaut to exit the spaceship into space . The best facilities were built for them: the world’s largest centrifuge and hydro laboratory. Many cosmonauts from other countries (USA, Japan, Germany and many others) also have trained here together with Soviet Russian cosmonauts. On this Star (Space) City Tour you will see:

  • Models of Soyuz Soviet spacecraft
  • World's largest centrifuge with an 18-meter radius
  • Hydro laboratory, with the model of the International Space Station in water, which allows to simulate the weightlessness and many more
