Well, Adam Sandler (again) has a microphone and you don’t, so you will listen to every damn word he has to say . That is, if you’re heading to his next stand-up comedy show.

“The Wedding Singer” star — whom we have to thank for the above line — is launching a 25-city North American tour to close out 2023. The I Missed You tour comes on the heels of his best-reviewed film, this month’s Netflix comedy “You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah,” and sold-out stand-up shows from earlier this year.

The comedy icon’s tour kicks off at Rogers Arena in Vancouver on Oct. 12 and will hit Seattle, Portland, Ore., Las Vegas and the Midwest before wrapping in Denver on Dec. 12, according to promoter and show producer Live Nation. The tour also promises a surprise guest. (Earlier this year, his “Grown Ups” co-stars Kevin James, Rob Schneider and David Spade joined him on stage.)

The “Murder Mystery” and “Uncut Gems” actor will be making two Southern California stops in October: First, at the Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert on Oct. 2; second, at the Honda Center in Anaheim on Oct. 23.

He’s also playing shows at the SAP Center in San Jose on Oct. 18 and Save Mart Center on Oct. 20 in Fresno.

The presale for the tour begins Thursday and the general sale begins Friday on Ticketmaster.

The 57-year-old began his career on the stand-up circuit before landing a five-year gig on “Saturday Night Live” in the early 1990s. From there, the comic — known for his brash, man-child shtick and athleisure affinity — catapulted to superstardom with the hit comedies “Billy Madison,” “Happy Gilmore,” “The Water Boy” and “The Wedding Singer.”

The actor has taken on more dramatic fare over the last decade, starring in “The Meyerowitz Stories,” “Uncut Gems” — for which he earned a Screen Actors Guild nomination — and “Hustle.”

Sandler toured earlier this year under the Adam Sandler Live! marquee and extended that tour with seven shows in April . Before that, the comedian hit the road for his 100% Fresher tour in 2019. That live show, which streamed on Netflix, earned him a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for writing for a variety special.

• Actor and comedian Adam Sandler has announced dates for his I Missed You Tour.
• The star is set to perform 25 dates across the US from October to December.
• He took his last tour, Adam Sandler Live, on the road from October 2022 to April 2023.

2023 is proving to be a pretty busy year for actor and comedian Adam Sandler after starring in two Netflix movies, "Murder Mystery 2" with Jennifer Aniston , and the coming-of-age comedy "You Are So Not Invited To My Bat Mitzvah." Surprisingly, Sandler's wife and kids also appear in the latter.

But if that wasn't enough, the "Happy Gilmore" and "Click" star also announced on Wednesday that he's going on the road with his second standup show of the year: The I Missed You Tour.

Sandler's last tour, Adam Sandler Live, ran from October 2022 to April 2023.

Sandler took to Instagram to announce the I Missed You Tour on Wednesday, and the footage gives fans a glimpse of what to expect from the star's performances — combining standup comedy with musical performances.

Adam Sandler Announces 25-Date Comedy Tour in North America: 'Let's Have Some Fun'

Adam Sandler is going back on the road!

The comedian, 57, announced on social media Wednesday that he'll be embarking on a comedy tour in North America from October to December, with 25 dates in total throughout the U.S. and Canada. The run of shows, titled the I Missed You Tour , is set to kick off Oct. 12 in Vancouver.

"Let’s have some fun," Sandler captioned an Instagram trailer, which included clips of him playing the guitar, taking some crowd selfies at a handful of shows and getting plenty of laughs.

The latest run of shows follows the Uncut Gems actor's Adam Sandler LIVE gigs, which concluded in April. The I Missed You Tour — which is produced by Live Nation — features stops in Portland, San Jose, Toronto, Memphis, Salt Lake City, Rochester, Minneapolis, Oklahoma City, and beyond — with a final date on Dec. 12 in Denver.

Live Nation ticket presale kicks off at 12 p.m. local time on Thursday, with a Ticketmaster general sale starting at 12 p.m. local time on Friday.

Actor Pauly Shore shared his excitement under Sandler's Instagram post with the comment, "Daaaaa Sand man is back boom boom broozzz."

Sandler's tour announcement arrives shortly after he and his family starred in the Netflix teen film You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah , which followed the crew as they navigated planning the perfect bat mitzvah.

Adam and wife Jackie Sandler's daughters — Sunny , 14, and   Sadie , 17 — play the roles of two teens as the film "chronicles the high comedy and modern teen angst that comes with family, friendship, and first crushes," per a synopsis .

"What’s really funny is right before we started prepping for the film,  Sunny  had her actual bat mitzvah," director Sammi Cohen told PEOPLE in August of the film. "So I went to that service, and we got to do the real-life bat mitzvah and then left to make the movie. It was a really fun life movie moment."

"It was really, really fun. And it was, again, it was just such a perfect moment of life meets movie. It was just magical."

In March, Sandler was awarded the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. The honor came as   Jennifer Aniston ,  Chris Rock ,  Pete Davidson , and more toasted the Saturday Night Live alum for his decades in show business.

Rob Schneider also shared a few kind words with his friend at the event, while performing a rendition of Sandler's "Grow Old With You" from  The Wedding Singer soundtrack.

"Nobody gave Adam Sandler his success. Adam earned this through his hard work in a really tough business, show business," Schneider said. "People ask me: why does Adam put me in so many movies? And it's because he wants to laugh and share his tremendous success with his friends, plus I will do really humiliating s--- that he won't do."

"Adam is a very generous guy,"  David Spade  also shared. "He has hired his whole family tree to work for him. The call sheet looks like Ancestry.com."

Sandler thanked his friends and family when collecting his award after several hilarious speeches, noting that "everybody was great."

"I feel like everyone who came and spoke up there, I think we all truly love each other," he said. "We have each other's backs for life. People always would ask me those bad reviews you get, how does that make you feel, like s---? It really doesn't. I think the reason I get to say it didn't hurt me is because so many of you guys in this room made me feel great about what we've done together."

This continues to be a big year for Adam Sandler , who is set to embark on a North American comedy tour on the heels of releasing one of the best-reviewed films of his career.

Live Nation announced Wednesday that the star is set to embark on the 25-city I Missed You tour, which launches Oct. 12 at Rogers Arena in Vancouver. Its final date is set for Dec. 12 at Denver’s Ball Arena.

The star himself took to Instagram to share a promotional video for the shows, along with the caption, “Let’s have some fun.”

Sandler is staying busy with a multitude of projects, which includes starring opposite Jennifer Aniston in Netflix’s Murder Mystery 2 , released in March. More recently, he joined his daughters Sunny Sandler and Sadie Sandler, along with wife, Jackie Sandler, in the coming-of-age comedy You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah , which hit Netflix last month and currently holds an impressive 92 percent critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes.

During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter , My Bat Mitzvah director Sammi Cohen praised Sandler for the support he provided to everyone involved with the film.

“He’s hilarious, and he’s always making everything funnier,” Cohen said. “He really gave everyone space to do their thing, but when people needed support, he was there. He’s wearing multiple hats — producing, acting, being an actual dad. It’s almost inhuman. Nothing suffers — he does it all 110 percent.”

The comedy legend is hitting the road once again.

Sandler has been incredibly busy since he proved his acting chops in 2019's Uncut Gems . The former Saturday Night Live! comedian has been popping out Netflix films like a factory, including Hustle , Home Team , Hubie Halloween, Murder Mystery, and You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah , where he stars alongside his real-life daughters. This summer, he also produced Netflix's The Out-Laws , which stars Adam Devine and Pierce Brosnan.

Adam Sandler is leaving no stone unturned on his ongoing “Adam Sandler Live Tour.”

Having already performed 24 huge shows in 2022, the “Uncut Gems” star and recipient of the 2023 Mark Twain Prize has decided to keep the momentum going and announced he’ll be bringing his singular brand of comedy and song to an additional 11 venues on the 2023 leg of his tour.

“What the heck! Let’s do a few more!” he shared on Instagram .

Now that’s a Hanukkah gift we can get behind.

The run launches at Chicago’s United Center on Feb. 5 and will take him to venues all over North America until he wraps his run at Charlotte’s Spectrum Center on Feb. 18.

And while we can’t guarantee who Sandler’s “Surprise Special Guest” will be at the show of your choosing, we do know the best way to find out is live.

As noted earlier, no one knows who Sandler will bring up before he performs at his shows which is what always makes it a surprise.

However, a bit of unofficial internet sleuthing has revealed that Rob Schneider (“The Waterboy”), Judd Apatow (“Funny People”), Nick Swardson (“Just Go With It”), David Spade (“Grown Ups”), Dan Patrick (“Hubie Halloween”) and Sarah Sherman (“Saturday Night Live”) are just a few of the acts he shared the stage with in 2022.

Chris Farley tribute

At each and every show, Sandler pays his respects to his former “Saturday Night Live” cast mate Chris Farley with his original song “Farley.”

Sandler spoke at length about the sentimental, funny song and other Chris Farley anecdotes in a recent episode of Dana Carvey and David Spade’s podcast “Fly On The Wall.”

Adam Sandler Mark Twain Prize

On March 19, Sandler is set to receive the 24th Mark Twain Prize for American Humor at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

Each year, the award is presented to a comedian that have left a lasting impact on humor like Twain did in the late 19th and early 20th century.

Just a few of the major acts that have received the award in recent years include Tina Fey, Jon Stewart, Richard Pryor, Will Ferrell and Carl Reiner.

Adam Sandler announces 2023 comedy tour

The tour kicks off next month.

Adam Sandler is heading out on tour this fall.

The comedian and actor recently announced his upcoming 25-city I Missed You North American tour.

The tour, which also teases a "surprise guest," will kick off in Vancouver, British Columbia, on Oct. 12 and include stops in Portland, Oregon; Las Vegas; Indianapolis; Memphis, Tennessee; Toronto and more before wrapping up in Denver on Dec. 12.

Sandler shared a video teasing the tour on his Instagram, captioning the clip, "Let’s have some fun."

Pre-sale tickets will go on sale Thursday, Sept. 14 at 12 p.m. local time, while the general sale begins the next day.

MILWAUKEE (Sept. 13, 2023) -- Today, critically acclaimed comedian Adam Sandler announces The I Missed You Tour, a massive 25-city run across North America, will stop at Fiserv Forum on Saturday, Nov. 11. Produced by Live Nation, the tour kicks off on Oct. 12 at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, BC making stops in Portland, Las Vegas, Indianapolis, Memphis, Toronto and more before wrapping up in Denver, CO at Ball Arena on Dec. 12. The announcement of this run follows his success of Adam Sandler LIVE sold out shows earlier this year.

Adam Sandler has extended his standup tour into 2023 with a newly announced run of shows.

The new dates will see Sandler playing shows across the midwest and down into Texas during the month of February. Stops include Chicago, Pittsburgh, St. Louis, Nashville, Austin, Dallas, Houston, and more.

Tickets go on sale Friday, December 16th at 12:00 p.m. local time via Ticketmaster . A Live Nation pre-sale will take place one day earlier on Thursday, December 15th (use access code CHEER ).

Earlier this week, Sandler was named the 2023 recipient of the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor.

Actor, comedian, and musician Adam Sandler was a cast member on 'Saturday Night Live' and is the star of such films as 'Punch-Drunk Love' and 'The Wedding Singer.'

Who Is Adam Sandler?

Born on September 9, 1966, in New York City, Adam Sandler was always the class clown but didn't consider becoming a comedian until his brother encouraged him to perform at a Boston Comedy Club. He was a regular on MTV's Remote Control and on NBC's Saturday Night Live before devoting himself to making movies like Billy Madison and Happy Gilmore . Sandler is best known for comedy but has also received critical praise for his dramatic work.

'Billy Madison,' 'Happy Gilmore,' 'The Wedding Singer'

'punch-drunk love,' '50 first dates'.

In 2002 Sandler co-starred with Winona Ryder in Mr. Deeds and the critically acclaimed Punch-Drunk Love opposite Emily Watson. The following year he starred opposite Jack Nicholson in the hit comedy Anger Management . Sandler re-teamed with Barrymore for another romantic comedy, 50 First Dates (2004), which fared well at the box office. Taking a more dramatic turn, he starred in the dramedy Spanglish (2004) as a husband experiencing trouble with his wife (played by Tea Leoni ) and developing a relationship with his housekeeper (played by Paz Vega).

'The Longest Yard,' 'Reign Over Me'

Sandler continued to vary his work from broad comedies to more weighty material. Remaking the 1974 sports comedy The Longest Yard (2005), he played a convict who organizes a football game between the inmates and the guards — a role originated by Burt Reynolds . Reynolds also appeared in the remake along with comedian Chris Rock and singer Nelly . The next year, Sandler played an architect who discovers a remote control that gives the power to fast-forward or rewind his own life in Click (2006). He then took on the role of a man who loses his family in the September 11 terrorist attacks in Reign Over Me (2007). Through an accidental meeting with an old friend (played by Don Cheadle), Sandler's character begins to rebuild his shattered life. Sandler earned some positive reviews for his performance, with Variety calling him "compelling" and "excellent."

'I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry'

Returning to the over-the-top comedy he is most famous for, Sandler produced and starred in I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry (2007). He played a straight firefighter who pretends to be in a gay relationship with a widowed firefighter (played by Kevin James ) so that his friend can receive domestic partner benefits for himself and his children.

'You Don't Mess With the Zohan'

For his next venture, Sandler played an Israeli commando who fakes his own death to move to America to pursue his dream of becoming a hair dresser in You Don't Mess With the Zohan (2008). He also produced and co-wrote the film. Continuing to work behind the scenes, Sandler served as a producer The House Bunny (2008), the sorority house comedy starring Anna Faris.

'Bedtime Stories,' 'Funny People'

In his next release, Bedtime Stories (2008), Sandler played a man who tells his niece and nephew bedtime stories, which suddenly begin to come true. The film also features Keri Russell as his love interest, and the remaining cast includes Teresa Palmer, Guy Pearce, Lucy Lawless, and Russell Brand. Sandler also starred in the 2009 summer comedy, Funny People , which was directed by Judd Apatow.

'Grown Ups' and 'Hotel Transylvania' Franchises

Sandler enjoyed great success with the 2010 comedy Grown Ups , co-starring Salma Hayek , Kevin James and Chris Rock. He wrote the script for the movie as well. Seemingly bullet-proof at the box office, he raked in more than $26 million for the first weekend of Jack and Jill (2011) — a remarkable feat for a movie widely maligned by critics. Sandler then lent his voice to the animated Hotel Transylvania in 2012 and starred in Grown Ups 2 in 2013. In 2015 he continued his voice work in Pixels and Hotel Transylvania 2 and closed out the year with the Western spoof The Ridiculous 6 .

'The Meyerowitz Stories,' 'Murder Mystery,' 'Uncut Gems'

In 2016 he teamed up with David Spade in the Nexflix comedy The Do-Over . Sandler then made a noted return to drama with a co-starring role in The Meyerowitz Stories (2017), before reprising his voiceover role for Hotel Transylvania 3 (2018). The following year Sandler rejoined Jennifer Aniston , his co-star from the 2011 romantic comedy Just Go With It , for the Netflix comedy Murder Mystery , and again earned praise for a role that showed his acting range in Uncut Gems .

In addition to his acting, Sandler has made several comedy albums. His first was the Grammy-nominated They're All Gonna Laugh At You (1993), which became an instant hit and expanded his fan base among young people through offensive songs and sketches. He followed with the albums What the Hell Happened to Me? (1996), What's Your Name? (1997), Stan and Judy's Kid (1999), and Shhh ... Don't Tell (2004).

The comedian made a celebrated return to stand-up in 2018 with the Netflix special 100% Fresh , which showcased his trademark juvenile songs along with more mature bits about life as a middle-aged father.

Sandler has been married to actress Jackie Titone since June 2003. The couple has two daughters: Sadie (b. 2006) and Sunny (b. 2008).

Early Career & 'SNL'

Adam Sandler was born on September 9, 1966, in New York City. Raised in Manchester, New Hampshire, as one of four children, Sandler was always the class clown. However, he never aspired to be a comedian until age 17 when his brother encouraged him to perform at a Boston comedy club.

Sandler continued to perform after he left Boston to attend New York University. After graduation, he became a regular on the MTV game show Remote Control . In 1989 he starred in his first film, Going Overboard . He was later spotted by Saturday Night Live cast member Dennis Miller who got him a job on the show, which lasted from 1990 to 1995. It was there that Sandler created such characters as Cajun Man, Opera Man and Canteen Boy.

Sandler returned to host SNL for the first time in May 2019, an occasion marked by his moving musical tribute to former castmate Chris Farley .

Adam Sandler Officially Returning for More “Happy Gilmore” as Sequel Is Confirmed

'Happy Gilmore 2' has finally been announced almost 30 years after the original film's release in 1996

Happy Gilmore 2 is officially on its way!

On Wednesday, May 15, Netflix confirmed Adam Sandler , 57, would be returning as the titular character he played in the beloved 1996 golf comedy.

"Happy Gilmore is back! Adam Sandler will reprise his iconic role in a brand new movie coming to Netflix," the streaming service wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter).

Sandler then said in a video shared by the PGA Tour on X , "It's been 25 years since I've done this," as he took to the golf course.

"Let's see what happens, I'm scared! Shooter McGavin this is for you... that went pretty well, you're dead Shooter!" he added, referencing Christopher McDonald 's character in the film.

Sandler co-wrote, produced and starred in the original movie as a New England-area wannabe hockey player who takes up golfing as a means to make money in order to save his grandmother's home from foreclosure. 

He ends up finding success on the golf course due to his signature hockey-style swing and a little help from former pro "Chubbs" Peterson ( Carl Weathers ). Weathers died in February at age 76.

After joining a professional golf tour, Happy clashes with McDonald's antagonist, Shooter McGavin.

McDonald, 69, confirmed back in March that Sandler was working on a sequel to the hit flick.

While speaking to  Audacy's 92.3 The Fan , McDonald said, "I saw Adam about two weeks ago, and he says to me, 'McDonald, you're gonna love this.' "

"I said, 'What?' He says, 'How about that?' and he shows me the first draft of  Happy Gilmore 2, " the actor added.

He continued, "Maybe you should cut that out because I don't want to be a liar, but he did show me that, and I thought, 'Wow, that would be awesome.' "

In April, Sandler's friend Drew Barrymore , 49, then revealed she had texted the actor about the possible sequel while discussing McDonald's comments on The Drew Barrymore Show .

"Are you kidding me? I want it, I need it, and I stayed up last night with my daughter watching  Billy Madison ," the actress said while noting another of Sandler's classic '90s comedies. "I sent Sandler a video of that, and then he sent me another video back and I'm waiting to see if he's confirming about the  Happy Gilmore 2  script."

"So this just in, breaking news: I'll just say this, from my source, that it is in process," Barrymore later added, presumably after receiving a response from Sandler himself. "There is a process and that process is in process."

Waterboy (1998)

Adam Sandler demonstrated his immense talents by playing Bobby Boucher (pronounced Boo-shay) across from the uber-talented Kathy Bates as Mama.

Boucher is a bit slower intellectually and socially. His Mama kept him isolated from the world in their swamp in Louisiana.

To fill the void, he became obsessed with wrestling and water.

Bobby devotes his time as an underappreciated waterboy to a college football team. He ends up on a team that can't win when he gets fired.

The head coach -- the amazing Henry Winkler -- discovers Boucher isn't just a genius with H2O. He's even better at hitting people.

He helps his team make it to the playoffs, where they face his ex-boss and the players who tormented him for years.

But when he tries to score a second date, he discovers a major problem.

Lucy has a head injury that took away her short-term memory. She forgets everything -- and everyone -- she's met once she goes to sleep.

At first, it's perfect. He can keep dating the same chick without worrying she'll fall in love with him.

He didn't plan on falling in love with her.

Seeing Sandler in a romantic flick was a new experience that introduced him to a new audience. This film featured more of Rob Schneider, and Kevin James briefly appeared.

When The Longest Yard came out, wrestling fans celebrated the collaboration between two of the sexiest bald pro wrestlers in the biz - Stone Cold Steve Austin and Bill Goldberg.

On a side note, you'll spot Steve Austin appearing in another of Sandler's films, Grown Ups 2, in 2013.

But those two weren't the only big-time names in the 1970s cult classic remake.

This football dramedy featured a who's who of popular names, making it a movie for everyone.

Some dark prison humor was thrown in for good measure.

Sandler plays Paul Crewe, a former football player sent to prison after violating his probation for throwing a football championship, making him hated by the entire country and all the inmates.

Except for Caretaker, played by Chris Rock.

Humans except for Johnny ( Andy Samberg ), who falls in love with Mavis, Dracula's daughter.

While Drac is determined to keep his daughter locked in their Monster hotel, she has dreams of exploring the world.

Johnny shakes things up for Mavis' 180th birthday party and makes all the monsters change their minds about people.

Blended (2014)

‘Leave the World Behind’ Tops All Netflix Viewing for Second Half of 2023 With 121 Million Views, ‘One Piece’ Leads TV With 71.6 Million Views

Dystopian thriller “ Leave the World Behind ” was the most-watched film — and title overall — on Netflix globally in the second half of 2023, while anime-inspired live action series “ One Piece ” led on the TV side among individual series seasons.

The data comes from Netflix’s second edition of “What We Watched: A Netflix Engagement Report,” reflecting viewership on the streamer from July-December 2023 covering 99% of all viewing on Netflix. Subscribers across the world watched about 90 billion hours of Netflix in the second half of 2023, compared with 93 billion hours in the first half of the year.

Popular on Variety

Adam Sandler’s “Leo,” the streamer’s biggest animated film to date, generated 96 million views following its Nov. 11 release. “Nowhere,” Netflix’s third most popular non-English language film ever, garnered 86 million views.

Among individual seasons of TV series, “One Piece,” with nearly 72 million views, more than doubled viewing across Netflix’s anime film and series. That was followed by limited series “Who Is Erin Carter?” (50.1 million), “Lupin” Part 3 (49.7 million), “The Witcher” Season 3 (47.9 million) and “Sex Education” Season 4 (46.3 million).

In addition, according to Netflix’s analysis, reality competition spin-off “Squid Game: The Challenge” (33 million views in the second half of 2023) increased viewership for the original Korean series “Squid Game” by 34%, three years after the latter’s premiere.

• Netflix’s three biggest titles of all time — “Wednesday,” “Red Notice” and “Squid Game” — continued to pull in large audiences well after their debuts. For full-year 2023, “Wednesday” had 98 million total views, “Red Notice” had 62 million and “Squid Game” had 25 million.
• The first three parts of Netflix’s “Lupin” generated nearly 100 million views in the second half of 2023, and there were nearly 200 million views across the eight seasons of the “CoComelon” kids show. Also popular (counting all seasons) were “The Witcher” (76 million), “Virgin River” (69 million), “The Crown” (50 million), “Sweet Magnolias” (35 million), “Top Boy” (26 million), “Heartstopper” (24 million), “Sintonia” (20 million) and “Sweet Home” (17 million).
• Non-English shows and movies make up nearly a third of all viewing on Netflix. Korean (9% of viewing), Spanish (7%) and Japanese (5%) language stories captured the biggest share of viewing outside of English. Standouts cited by Netflix include “Dear Child” (53 million views) from Germany, “Forgotten Love” (43 million) from Poland, “Pact of Silence” (21 million) from Mexico, “Mask Girl” (19 million) from Korea, “Yu Yu Hakusho” (17 million) from Japan, “Berlin” (11 million) from Spain, and “The Railway Men” (11 million) from India.
• Sports has become an increasingly popular category, amassing a combined 184 million views in the back half of 2023 including “Beckham” (44 million views), “Untold: Johnny Football” (14 million) and “Quarterback” (13 million).
• Kids and family represented 15% of all viewing, with titles like “Gabby’s Dollhouse” (90 million), “Family Switch” (62 million), and “The Monkey King” (43 million).
