Worst duck tour ever. You can drive yourself up the main street for free. Spent very little time on Lake Hamilton, maybe 10 minutes. Total Waste of money.
1.5 at the most.. ok, it could be fun for your kids under 12. Paying $25 a person to sit in traffic and drive by Walmart and a few historic places is not worth it. It is cool these ducks can swim though. That is the best part of the trip but we were expecting to learn more info about the town and area not just wise cracks about poor people and traffic from the driver. I guess it is a once in a lifetime thing to do but seriously it takes 30 minutes to get to the lake and then float for ten then 30 minutes back if your lucky. Don't even go to the wax museum, it is older than the town itself and a joke, not even worth the extra $5 to see this place.
Usually city tours are lame and boring but this one was THE BEST. I would recommend going on this tour as soon as you get to Hot Springs, AR. because it is very informative and fun at the same time. Our tour guide was Captain America, he is an excellent entertainer, super funny and friendly. It was around 75 minutes of pure laugh, interesting information and nice views!
Best duck tours!
Absolutely great! This was a very cool attraction at a reasonable price. Our tour guide was Nick, (QUACK), very funny and very informative during the tour. Our price total was about $70 for two adults and two children. The tour lasted about an hour or so and took us around the historic hot springs town. Don't forget, this duck boat is an original piece of history and does in-fact, go in the water after about 20 mins of touring. The water ride was hot, due to having to go so slow, but being in open water was super cool for the family. However, I was a bit disappointed that there wasn't very much information given during the tour, was hoping for more guided information on a majority of the town with all the historical buildings and what they were back in time. Overall, this was a great guided tour and would recommend as a great tourist site.
This was a surprisingly fun experience! We saw the funny bus, but had no idea that they are also boats! How fun is that? To go from the road to the lake and back was a fun, relaxing way to sightsee Hot Springs, Arkansas. Find a good captain and he/she will entertain you for the ride making the tour more fun. Knowing there are very few of these amphibian vehicles left in use, this tour was worth the money. They stopped making them so they're very old but highly maintained and regulated, so no worries about breaking down. I would do it again!

Arkansas Game and Fish Commission expands hunting, fishing opportunities for 2024-25 season
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Fans of the Arkansas outdoors will have more hunting and fishing opportunities going into the 2024-25 season.
The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission announced Friday that it had passed a number of regulation changes at its April meeting for the upcoming season to expand access.
The changes were proposed in February when they were opened for public comment. AGFC researcher Jessica Feltz said 36,000 respondents made over 100,000 comments on the proposed rules, the largest public response in the agency’s history.
“It took a team of staff members to work through all the comments, remove duplicate entries from the same individual and put the results in a form the commissioners would be able to review,” Feltz told the commission at its April meeting.
Changes impact a number of wildlife species and what equipment hunters may use. Among the changes approved by the board:
- A buck-only archery deer hunt was established for the first week of September, matching what has been in place in other states.
- After strong public support, the muzzleloader season has been expanded to include the use of straight-walled centerfire .30 caliber or better non-automatic rifles.
- Due to an increasing herd size, the black bear archery quota for Zone I has been increased by 50 to 450 bears.
- Duck hunters may now use motorized decoys in AGFC-owned wildlife management areas, which hunters on private land have been able to do in the past. There is now a 25-shotshell limit on all WMAs, including those where no limit had been in place previously.
- Additional WMAs are being opened for quail hunting, reflecting the increase in the species population.
The commission considered requiring GPS collars for hunting dogs and reducing the daily mallard bag limit but did not act on these rules.
A full list of changes, including hunting season dates for different zones, may be seen at AGFC.com .

Trout Fishing at the Southfork River Therapy and Living Center
Staff from the Mammoth Spring National Fish Hatchery recently visited the Southfork River Therapy and Living Center in Salem, Arkansas, to provide a fun-filled morning of Rainbow Trout fishing to its residents. Hatchery Biologist, Sara Seagraves and Maintenance Worker, Jonathan Sanders, took a load of Rainbow Trout, water, and a small round tank to the nursing home on May 16th. As the tank was being filled with water and stocked with trout, the residents began gathering around, anxiously awaiting their chance to catch the fish. Approximately half of the Center’s 61 residents participated in the event, but even those who didn’t fish enjoyed watching the festivities. After the fishing was done, the Center’s personnel, along with a few local volunteers, cleaned and prepared the fish for a fish fry to be enjoyed by all the residents. We’re grateful for opportunities like this to share the Service’s mission and provide fun fishing experiences to the local community. We hope the participants enjoyed the experience as much as we did and can’t wait to hear all the tall tales on our next visit!
