Is it better to book a cruise through a travel agent? We say yes

Fran Golden

Going online to book an airline ticket or hotel stay is a familiar and fairly easy transaction. When you book a cruise, however — particularly your first cruise — you might want to reconsider the impulse to handle the transaction yourself through a cruise line website or an online advertiser with cheap prices. This DIY approach might not be the best way to find your dream vacation at sea.

In reality, it's not that simple to book a cruise. You will likely run into a lot of questions to which you have no ready answer.

That's where specialized cruise travel agents come into play. Their expertise can help you avoid mistakes, whether you are a first-timer or a repeat cruiser checking out a brand you have not tried before.

Why you should book through a cruise travel agent

You should consider booking a cruise through a travel agent because a knowledgeable agent can help you understand the nuances of a cruise purchase and help you make the best decisions for your vacation preferences.

When you book a cruise, you are making a vacation decision that goes way beyond a flight or hotel nights. Which ship you choose determines your dining and evening entertainment choices for the duration of your vacation. Which itinerary you choose impacts which destinations you'll visit and which shoreside activities will be available to you. It can be overwhelming to evaluate the options on your own if you've never cruised before.

Additionally, cruise fares can be hard to understand and compare. You might, for instance, see a fare listed online without the port charges, taxes and fees that you only see after you give your personal details.

Plus, the price of your cruise includes accommodations, meals, entertainment and activities — and, in some cases, drinks, tips, shore excursions, Wi-Fi and other extras. There's a lot bundled into some fares and not as much with others. A travel agent can help you determine what your cruise fare gets you. The cheapest base cruise fare does not always provide the best value or best overall vacation deal.

Related: 4 scenarios when you should use a travel agent

You aren't just booking general passage on a ship, either, as you will be asked to pick a specific cabin and when you prefer to dine. Making a mistake in these categories can ruin your cruise experience, as there are such things as "bad" cabins and dining times (think: noisy or claustrophobic cabins, dinner at 8 p.m. with cranky children and so on).

With cruises, you typically don't pay for your whole vacation upfront but rather put down a deposit, with the final payment due at a later date. A cruise travel agent can ensure you don't miss any due dates.

Remember, you might be a DIY type when booking airlines and hotels, but booking a cruise is more complex. If you enjoy doing your own research, focus on what to do and see in the ports of call. Read about different ships, cruise lines and itineraries. However, when it comes to booking the cruise, we recommend you still contact a travel agent who specializes in cruises to help you learn a few tips and avoid any rookie mistakes.

Travel agents can get better deals on cruises

If you're concerned that working with an agent will make your cruise more expensive, don't be. Cruise travel agents receive the bulk of their income via commission from the cruise lines. Their service to you is usually free, though some might charge first-time clients a minimal fee. It's worth it.

In addition to sharing their expertise, the agent may have negotiated group space at lower rates with the cruise line, which could save you money on the cruise fare. The agent might also have first access to sale prices because the cruise lines notify their agent partners and loyalty club members first before they announce a sale to the public.

Some cruise travel agents even throw in booking perks , such as a complimentary bottle of Champagne, awaiting your arrival in your cabin.

How to find a travel agent for a cruise

Cruise lines prefer that you use a travel agent rather than going online and booking directly. They have small in-house reservation teams, and when you have a question while making a booking, good luck in getting an expert on the phone in a timely manner.

Companies such as Royal Caribbean and Carnival Cruise Line provide online directories to help you find an experienced cruise travel agent near you.

best travel agent for ncl cruises

You can also find experienced and certified cruise travel agents through Cruise Lines International Association , the industry's main marketing group. Asking friends who have cruised to recommend a travel agent is another good idea.

Related: 5 unexpected places that sell cruises

You might get more personalized care from smaller agencies than from huge online agencies, though websites such as icruise.com, cruise.com and cruise411.com also have experienced cruise agents. These larger online travel agencies can be a good option for those who prefer to make decisions and ask questions via chat. Just make sure you get the name and phone number of the representative for any follow-up questions.

Questions to ask a cruise travel agent

In choosing a cruise travel agent, you will want to tap into the person's specific expertise about the cruise line and ship you are considering. Anyone can read a ship deck plan outlining ship spaces (which you can find online), but you are looking for people who really know their stuff.

Look for travel agencies that are cruise-only or a home-based agent who specializes in cruises. If you are using a full-service travel agency, ask for the cruise desk.

Here are some questions to ask a travel agent to determine their expertise:

  • How often do you cruise?
  • Have you cruised on the line I am considering?
  • Have you cruised on the ship I am considering, or do you have clients who have cruised that ship and provided a review of their vacation?
  • Do you have firsthand knowledge about the cruise destination? The itinerary?

You will also want to ask the travel agent if they have a preferred relationship or negotiated agreement with any specific lines that could lead to special perks for you.

Be aware that not all agents work with all cruise lines; some represent only a few preferred suppliers or specialize in higher-end cruises. They get bigger commissions from their preferred lines.

This is not necessarily a bad thing, but be aware if the agent seems to be putting you off the line you were originally considering, as this could be the reason. On the plus side, an agent who is a preferred supplier might have negotiated rates with the cruise line and be able to call in favors, such as that bottle of Champagne or a cabin upgrade .

best travel agent for ncl cruises

You should also ask if the travel agency offers 24-hour assistance (usually via an 800 number) in case you have last-minute questions or something goes wrong before or during your trip.

The cruise travel agent should have questions for you, too, to better understand your dream vacation desires. If you are calling a cruise agency for the first time, the agent should be interviewing you as much as you are interviewing him or her. The agent should be focused on helping you choose the cruise line , ship and cabin that is right for you. Making the correct choices is very important to your overall cruise experience.

Bottom line

Booking a cruise is a complex enterprise. A cruise travel agent will guide you through choosing your cabin and dining times, deposits and final payment, and options for shore excursions and specialty dining. If you need to cancel the trip, the agent will also help you through the refund process. You'll have a lot less stress before and during your vacation if you book with an experienced agent.

Spoiler alert: travel advisors book way more than hotels . (Although you know we love hotels.) And when you’re embarking on a cruise, it’s best to enlist the help of a cruise travel agent (a.k.a. Fora Advisor).

And if your heart is set on Norwegian Cruise Line, we’ve got your back. (Check out our favorite Norwegian Cruise Line Miami itineraries for some travel inspiration.) NCL has been in the cruise travel industry for over half a century. In other words, it knows what it’s doing.

All that experience also means NCL’s fleet of cruise ships is quite large, as is its range of destinations (the Caribbean, the Mediterranean, Alaska, Europe, New Zealand...). There are also a lot of nitty gritty details that go into selecting, planning and getting the most out of your cruise vacation. That’s where Fora comes in.

Our Fora Advisors can take care of all the logistics and heavy lifting (including travel insurance!), so you get to focus on the fun stuff — and just relaaax (pro tip: don’t miss Norwegian’s spas). In other words, leave the planning — and stress! — to us.

Read on for our top reasons of why you should use a Norwegian Cruise Line travel agent (a.k.a. Fora Advisor). Then, connect with Fora to plan and book your NCL cruise today.

Cruise travel agents help narrow down your options

best travel agent for ncl cruises

Suffer from decision paralysis? We’ve been there, and we know it’s not fun. Luckily for you, our Fora Advisors can take away all the stress that comes with choosing the ideal itinerary for you and your fellow travelers. (Norwegian Cruise Line cruises cater to families, couples, solo travelers — you name it.)

Fora Advisors listen to what you’re dreaming of, and ask about your travel preferences and past vacations — both good and bad — so they can get an idea of what would make your cruise getaway memorable, seamless and fun.

Additionally, because they have familiarity with NCL’s fleet, our advisors will be able to suggest a ship that best suits your vibe and style. Also, some itineraries are only available during certain times of year, or only embark from certain ports (the options for cruises leaving from Florida, say, differ from those that embark from California, which differ still from those departing out of New York). Norwegian Cruise Line travel agents will let you know which itinerary makes the most sense for you.

So if you can’t decide whether you should head to the Bahamas or Mexico, Italy or Africa, Asia or Australia, our travel agents have your back.

Norwegian Cruise Line travel agents help navigate the logistics

best travel agent for ncl cruises

From providing pre-cruise transportation tips to ensuring you arrive at the appropriate port on time, Fora’s cruise travel agents help you get from point A to B.

Many travelers also enjoy extending their trip before or after their cruise. Fora Advisors can help with that, too. Early morning departure from Miami (one of NCL’s most popular ports)? Maybe spend a few days in the city beforehand. Our NCL advisors will help plan and book your stay at some of the best hotels in Miami (or anywhere) — annddd unlock VIP perks and benefits, of course.

Cruise travel agents help you get the most out of your time, on- and off-board

best travel agent for ncl cruises

Because Fora Advisors are also Norwegian Cruise Line travel agents, they know the ins and outs of the company, their ships, specialty dining options, staterooms, entertainment venues, onboard amenities...You get the idea. Translation? You get valuable insider tips and can rest assured knowing you’re spending your time on the most worthwhile amenities.

NCL travel advisors also often have access to exclusive deals, special cruise fares, onboard credit and other goodies, which they can then extend to you.

One of the many highlights of Norwegian Cruise Line vacations is their shore excursions. These brief on-land sojourns are opportunities to explore different ports of call, and to get the feel of a place, from charming cities in Canada to tropical beach towns in the Caribbean. When you embark on an NCL cruise, you’ll have several shore excursion opportunities, but again, each one is quite short (usually a day at most).

Yet another incentive of using an NCL cruise travel agent: getting the most out of your precious shore excursions. Fora will suggest what you should see and do (or not see and not do) at any port of call, and help plan and book the ideal activities (or lack thereof) based on your preferences. Maybe you’d prefer to explore a city’s many museums, or perhaps lounging on the area’s best beach sounds better. Or maybe there are great hiking trails or different historical sites you’d like to explore. Regardless, Fora eliminates the need for FOMO. We optimize your trip for you.

Book direct with NCL or use travel agent

Hi friends-

I'm wondering if there is any obvious benefit to using a travel agent versus booking directly with NCL for a summer greek cruise. Normally, I use Delta's Skycruises to get a few extra miles for the trip but I am wondering if the extra step if needed to work with a travel agent if something changes is a good idea in this somewhat fluid environment? I am going to book the air flights for the cruise on my own since I will use miles for one of our two tickets and I am planning to spend a few days in Croatia ahead of Athens to use up some hotel vouchers from aborted travel last year so I will have to sort that on my own as well. In theory, a travel agent should have better information and provide higher service than I can on my own but my experience during the COVID cancelations was that it was just another person I had to wait on hold with for a much longer period of time and then again while they contacted NCL on my behalf so not feeling like there was much benefit. What do others think?

Also is anybody else out there considering travel ahead of the Greek cruises and if so any insight on whether there will be additional complexities entering Greece via another country (e.g. a flight from Croatia) as opposed to a direct run from JFK to ATH? We are both fully vaccinated which seems to be all that is required right now to enter both Croatia and Greece.

Since you may not name travel agents on CC, let’s just say big warehouse stores offer additional perks on the cruise and gift cards to their store for booking.

Greece still has restrictions on who may enter and testing requirements. Reference state dept info. You need to spend part of your Croatian vacay hunting down a valid COVID test center.

For me it’s mainly about saving $$. We booked with a TA for our Greece back-to-back cruises in Oct. Balcony cabin. I gave her my preferred location, she found a cabin we could stay in both legs and also offered input from her experience sailing on the Jade. All good, but more significant to me is the $300 OBC we’re getting on each cruise.

I have a hard time understanding why many cruisers are hesitant, or even solidly against, using TAs. $600 is a solid sum of money to me. We didn’t have to wait on hold as she seemed to book directly into NCL’s system during our call.

We’re flying directly from US to Athens for a few days prior to the cruise so sorry not able to give any guidance on that question. Seems our vaccination status is definitely favorable but all seems to be a moving target right up until travel date.

You can book with NCL, book online, or book with a Travel Agent.

When you book with NCL, someone employed by NCL inputs your trip into a computer.

When you book online, you input your trip into a computer.

When you book with a Travel Agent, the TA inputs your trip into a computer.

The difference is a TA can provide perks that you won't get elsewhere.

I booked directly with NCL and just had my booking transferred to a "big warehouse store" (as mentioned above by BirdTravels) and got a lot of extras - about $300 worth.  I don't know why I went direct with NCL without checking around in the first place other than I got so excited that Alaska was opened up.  There are limitations to transferring such as it has to be within 30 days of the original booking and cannot yet be paid in full.  Not sure what impact price changes might have since the price on my cruise was still the same a week later.

I've found that when things go smoothly, it's a TA.

But if there are issues, having a middleman can be a problem.  If the TA isn't getting paid (cancellations after cancellations) they just aren't motivated to put in more time and work.  Or if there's a price drop...and you have to wait to speak to the TA!

Depends upon the TA.  Mine, a woman owned small business, answers emails and returns urgent phone calls even on weekends.  She is very service oriented.

One thing I really like about her is that she does business with all the cruise lines.  Once I had to cancel two cruises on different lines and rebook those two cruise on even different cruise line.  If I had been dealing directly with the cruise lines, that would have been four phone calls and who knows how much time on hold.  With her, it was one phone call.  Total time five minutes and all was done.  She has also gone to bat for me to get things that I alone couldn't have done.  Like I say, it depends.

I found one thru the "agents give you prices" website.  This guy was a bit lower than the others, so I picked him to book with last summer.  The problem was, whenever I wanted a change I had to hang on the phone while he called the cruiseline...so no time saved for me.  In addition, he was not e-mail oriented (never responded) and only did agent work part time.  I canceled one cruise and he charged me a fee (not complaining...he did work) that I could have used as a credit for any booking in the future.  I'll never be using that credit.

The one I've been using for the past couple of bookings messed something up about a year ago (I asked him to book something...DH and I both had covid so I wasn't following up closely.....he didn't book and price went up) so he throws in a few dollars extra OBC.  But...I follow him like a hawk now.

ETA...as a former small business owner, I like to give "the little guy" some business, so no big box stores for me.

I am one who likes direct control over all my travel arrangements.  So I always book direct.  However a good TA is like owning gold.  If you find a good one stay with them.

I typically book myself or directly through my PCC.... it’s pretty much the only phone I actually answer

I found mine when someone screwed up and mentioned her by name here on CC.  I called her several years ago and I wouldn't use anyone else.   One thing I like about her (besides the 8-10%) discount is that I can use her to book practically any type of cruise.  NCL, Princess, European or US river cruise, pretty much everything.

To be honest, I don't call her much.  I decide on the cruise, the cabin, etc., and send her an email.  She calls me back to get the CC number and I'll get an invoice from her within 30 minutes.  As I've said before, I can send her an email on a Saturday, even if I specify that it's not urgent, I'll get a call or an email in at most an hour or so.

You're not booking directly since every avenue requires a person to sit at a computer and input your request.  Does it really matter if that person is employed by the cruise line or by a TA?  It's really the same thing.

If I do it myself the. I don’t think it’s the same thing.  I also stated that sometimes I call and they do it for me.  It would be different if that person works directly for them.

some TA will give you a discount price vs OBC which i find is very pleasant for me . i cant burn hundreds in OBC

I used to hate the idea of a TA, then someone introduced me to a site that you can have your already booked cruises transferred to so that they mange the booking going forward (as long as you do it within 30 days of your original booking).

If you book suites or Haven rooms - the OBC you get just for letting them have their name on your booking is insane. It's roughly 10% of the cruise fare, so in a 10K Haven suite that comes out to 1K in OBC.

Still haven't sailed yet to see if there will be any snafus, but if all goes well I will certainly enjoy finding ways to use up that OBC. Gratuities and excursions alone will put a big dent in there, and there's always the gift shop to stock up on bottles of something to bring home if needed.

classy_cruiser

I have an acquaintance who works for an online travel agency (initials VTG). I know they specialize in cruises and I was able to find my cruise on their website. Price/features listed there are pretty much identical to what I got going through NCL website, except they don't have the second airfare free promotion listed. They do mention an extra $75 OBC. I have my itinerary on courtesy hold but pretty sure I will be paying the deposit soon.

Does it make sense to connect with this person about transferring the booking to them? Should I expect to still get the $75 OBC? I would also like for someone to monitor if there is a price drop but not sure how realistic that is? I'm not even sure if what I booked is a really good deal or not. $5000 total for 2 people balcony room free at sea package including airfare from Texas. This is for the Sept 5 Jade Greek Islands sailing.

Megamixer

I think this comes down to a personal choice.  I have a friend that loves to have control over everything, do his own researching, calls, plans, etc.  It works for him.  As for myself, we're long time cruisers, know what we want and I enjoy sending an email to our TA and tell her what we want and have her email me back the booking and details an hour later.

We were booked on NCL's transatlantic this fall from Rome to NY on the Escape.  The morning we got the email that it was cancelled, an hour later she had us booked on the Epic for almost the same cabin, and same cruise except for a couple different port stops with all the discounts and goodies included.  We didn't do a thing but forward her the original email that our cruise was cancelled.  At the point of life I'm in now, I enjoy simplicity.

Sthrngary

I have not read all the responses.  Everyone will have a different take on what to do or what they have done.  Here is my take.

I do a much better job of research then any travel agent I have ever used.  I also don't like that when I use any agent other then the cruise lines, I am not the client to the brand.  I the agent is.  So direct contact if I have an issue is through the TA.  They never fight as hard as I do for issues.

All that being said, I have an American Express Platinum Card.  I usually stay in the Haven.  I get a minimum of $300.00 On-Board-Credits and a dinner for two in the French Restaurant as a perk.  To use the card I have to book through American Express Travel of a TA That provides those AMX perks.  I use a travel Agent.

My point in addressing this topic this way is;

  • Travel Agents when things go wrong are not always your best choice for the few dollars they can discount or provide you with Perks.
  • If you are going to use a travel agent, use one that has been around for a while.  They have to know the ropes and have relationships with the brands.
  • If your agent says you should use another brand then NCL, use someone else.  They don't like the brand for what ever reason.  I know, this happened to me.  Not a good situation.

I hope in some ways I have been helpful.

cmecruise1962

The one (and only) time I booked using a TA, he talked me into a layover on the flight to Barcelona on a cheaper airline.  I could have booked direct on American for approximately $200 more for each of us.  He was like "Wouldn't you say it was worth an extra 1 - 2 hours of your time to save $400?"  (The answer is no now).  The airline was British Airways and they kept changing my flight and changing my flight, until it took us an extra 5 hours in layovers on the way over...and 10 hours on the way back!  UGH!  We were in an airport or flying for over 26 hours...which included a 45 minute layover in NY *(BARELY enough time to make it through international customs and back through security!).  Now, I take control of my own destiny...

Not true, even in the previous century I preferred to deal directly with reservation computers via my laptop and not use any person as intermediary. Computers are obedient and patient for endless queries. I once spent 40 hours exploring and setting up a miraculous chain of ferry arrangements, and no meat puppet is gonna handhold me thru that.

I’ve been hearing these stories for years so I tried to finally take advantage of it with a cruise I just booked. I reached out to a few different travel agents that I found by doing a search for the best ones to transfer a cruise to. It’s been two days and so far there’s been no response from three of them and one offered me a whopping $100 onboard credit.  🤔

It really depends on your reservation. If your total cruise price is only $2,000 then you will only see ~$50 or so. If you're in a fancy Haven suite on the newest ship Prima where the cruise is costing $20K, that's when you see the bigger OBC perks show up.

We're not allowed to say TA names here (I don't understand why), but if you search for CRUise CONsultant and send them an email, they may be able to help you out.

Thanks

Reference state dept info. You need to spend part of your Croatian vacay hunting down a valid COVID test center.    https://gr.usembassy.gov/covid-19-information/

I'd also like to point out that the website at "Mysterious Warehouse Store" was great to use for looking at the decks and available cabins. Some of these online sites have great research tools.

Hold times can be crazy at some of the bigger agencies right now, because everyone is rebooking. It might be faster to work with the cruise line if your TA doesn't have email.

casofilia

Remember that if you book through a travel agent that they  own the booking and, if anything goes wrong you have to wok though the TA.

Is a Travel Agent Worth it for a Norwegian Cruise?

  • Facebook 31
  • Pinterest 6

Cruises are undoubtedly my go-to choice for family vacations. There’s something magical about exploring new destinations by day and returning to a floating home base filled with excellent dining and entertainment options, not to mention the peaceful days spent at sea. For over 15 years, this has been a beloved tradition for my family and me.

However, the booking and planning process can be less than relaxing. Honestly, it’s a massive task, especially if you’re relatively new to cruising with Norwegian Cruise Line—it can be quite daunting.

You’d think it would be straightforward—pick a cruise, select a cabin, and you’re done, right? Not quite. There’s a lot more to consider:

  • Deciding on whether to upgrade your dining experience
  • Choosing which specialty restaurants to book
  • Determining whether you prefer “Freestyle Dining” or set dining times
  • Understanding what “Freestyle Dining” actually involves
  • Planning which shore excursions to take
  • Selecting the best deck for your cabin (trust me, location matters—a cabin at the front of the ship rocks more)
  • Reserving times for shows in advance
  • Deciphering the array of drink package options
  • Considering the various internet packages
  • Learning how to navigate the Norwegian Cruise Line app
  • And countless other details—it truly feels like a second full-time job on top of my actual career and parenting duties.

A few years ago, I realized I needed help and was amazed to find that travel agents could be enlisted at no extra cost! (though some agents do charge fees, but mine does not).

My First Experience Using a Travel Agent for a Norwegian Cruise Line Vacation

best travel agent for ncl cruises

Initially, I reached out to several agencies, but only one responded with just a basic quote. It was underwhelming and didn’t show the value of having a travel agent.

Recommendation from a Co-Worker

norwegian cruise

Just when I was about to handle everything myself again, a co-worker insisted I try her travel agent, describing the experience as “life-changing.” (She is a bit dramatic). So, skeptical at first, I contacted the agent through their website, and the prompt and personal reply I received that evening was quite promising.

A Pleasantly Surprising Service

From the start, the interaction was different. This agent didn’t just send a generic quote; they inquired about my family, our travel preferences, and our past vacation experiences. It felt like I was chatting with an old friend who was genuinely excited to help plan our trip.

We discussed everything—our interests, cabin preferences, and even dietary restrictions due to my nephew’s severe peanut allergy.

Ultimately, we decided to book a trip aboard the Norwegian Bliss, known for its impressive amenities but not being the newest in the fleet, offering the best value for our money.

By the way, the agency is called “ Best Day Ever Vacations ,” and they are an absolute delight to work with, use them, you’ll love them.

The Ease of Planning

You know how you book a trip, and then later realize it is a full time job planning the trip. That’s what Best Day Ever Vacations saved me from. They provided a comprehensive guide to our cruise, complete with a detailed itinerary showing sea days, ports of call, onboard dining options, and shows—everything was incredibly organized.

They kept us informed about important booking dates for dining and excursions, and offered insider tips for making the most of our stops, like the incredible experience at Harvest Caye.

Dining Tips That Made a Difference

NCL DINING

Our agent got us the FREE Ultimate Dining option and knew all the amazing restaurants onboard. They highly recommended the hibachi for our family which was an absolute hit.

Show Booking Made Simple

With the agent’s reminders, we booked all our preferred show times in advance, avoiding the frustration of last-minute availability or poor seating options.

A Welcome Surprise

Best of all, after booking, the agency found us a better cabin in the Haven suites for just a few dollars more (normally thousands more) without any extra effort on my part. This gesture alone turned me into a lifelong client. Their proactive service was a little ray of sunshine.

Haven Suites Pool Area

In Conclusion – Is It Worth Using a Travel Agent for a Norwegian Cruise Line Vacation? Absolutely.

While my initial attempts at finding a good agent at first were hit-and-miss, landing a great one like Best Day Ever made all the difference. I’ve recommended them to numerous friends who have all had stellar experiences.

And, a little tip—if you mention “rookie moms” when you book, they’ll connect you with one of their top agents.

Norwegian Cruise Line unveils new travel agent portal

NCL, norwegian cruise line

A new trade portal has been launched by Norwegian Cruise Line to help travel agents “learn, market and sell NCL holidays more easily and seamlessly”.

Norwegian Central includes access to NCL’s agent booking engine Seaweb, as well as the line’s training platform, known as NCL University.

The hub provides refreshed course content, new achievement levels and a reduced rate programme that allows agents to book reduced cruises for module course completion.

In addition, agents can access the Marketing Headquarters hub, giving them the opportunity to create marketing materials such as flyers, banners, videos and more.

Norwegian Cruise Line UK & Ireland and MEA vice-president and MD Eamonn Ferrin said: “In line with our Partners First Philosophy, it has been our utmost priority this year to provide our valued travel agent partners with the support they need, and we will continue to build on this going forward.

“We see a great demand for NCL cruises, especially for 2021, 2022 and 2023, and we are increasing our efforts to ensure we equip agents with the best tools possible to help them capitalise on this opportunity.

“We are excited to launch Norwegian Central, which brings all our key tools together in one convenient place and look forward to introducing further initiatives very soon.”

Commenting on the launch, Cruise Circle product manager Mark Godden added: “Norwegian Central is a great tool – there’s relevant content for everyone within our business, be it marketing, sales, customer care or product teams.

“I can’t think of another cruise line tool that offers access to such a wide range of clearly marked, easy to find information.

“This, combined with the recent launch of NCL Air, is yet another reinforcement of NCL’s readiness to innovate in all aspects of its business.”

Norwegian Central is available on norwegiancentral.com . Agents can also login with their Seaweb credentials or email [email protected] to register.

2025 Bermuda Cruises: Take a Vacation to This Island Paradise

2025 Bermuda Cruise

With its beautiful pink beaches and crystal-clear turquoise waters, Bermuda offers an ideal island escape. In 2025, plan a cruise to Bermuda on an unforgettable vacation with Norwegian Cruise Line. Whether you want a quick weekend getaway or a relaxing week in the sun, there's a Norwegian cruise to Bermuda for you to enjoy.

Ready to start planning? Explore all Bermuda cruises .

NCL Breakaway off the coast of Bermuda

Norwegian's Bermuda Cruises in 2025

In 2025, you can sail to the picturesque island of Bermuda from Boston or New York . Regardless of where you depart, you'll arrive at Bermuda's Royal Naval Dockyard. Located on the island's West End, the dockyard offers a breathtaking view of the harbor and the sparkling waters of the North Atlantic Ocean.

At the Royal Naval Dockyard , you can explore charming craft shops and local markets, picking up some souvenirs for your loved ones who weren't lucky enough to join you on your cruise vacation. The dockyard, built in the 19th century and later restored to its former splendor, also houses the National Museum. Perfect for history buffs, the museum explores the island's past and offers insights into its culture and heritage.

You'll also have the opportunity to leave the dockyard and take advantage of all the island has to offer. Whether you want to dive into the ocean waters, relax on the pink sand beaches, or get lost in the Bermuda Triangle, Norwegian offers the perfect shore excursion for you. Here are just a few of the experiences you can have on this slice of island paradise.

Sunken plane remains in Bermuda

Shipwreck and Coral Reef Snorkel Combo

You'll have access to a variety of snorkeling excursions, but we suggest this unique shipwreck and coral reef snorkeling combo . As part of this experience, you'll set sail on a snorkel boat to visit the Constellation, a cargo ship that sank off the coast of Bermuda during World War II. You'll see the remains of the Constellation from the boat before getting in the water to snorkel, giving you an up-close view of the wreck. Later, you'll travel to a second location to snorkel in a secluded area, where you'll enjoy the underwater sights of the vibrant coral reef.

Bermuda Triangle Cruise

Come on, you're at least a little curious about the Bermuda Triangle, aren't you? According to urban legend, this ocean region has been the site of numerous mysterious disappearances. Whether or not you believe the myth, a cruise to the Bermuda Triangle will be an event to remember. On this evening cruise, you'll experience the darkness of the ocean on a glass-bottomed boat. As you sail beneath the twinkling stars, crew members will explain the notoriety of the Bermuda Triangle and give you a unique perspective on the coral and fish that call this part of the ocean home.

Prefer to spend your time on the green instead? There are plenty of idyllic golf courses in Bermuda for you to enjoy. The Belmont Hills Golf Course offers stunning views of Hamilton Harbour and the Great Sound. The course has over 6,100 yards of bunkers, various water hazards, and narrow fairways, making it a fun, challenging course for even the most experienced golfers.

Crystal Caves

Did you know there are caves on the island? This family-friendly excursion will take you to Bermuda's northernmost point. Here, you'll find the Crystal Caves, which were discovered in 1907 by a teenager who lost a cricket ball in the caverns. On this excursion, you'll take a tour of the stunning caves, walking on a bridge over a clear lake surrounded by stalactites.

After your time at the caves, you'll travel to a nature reserve on another part of the island. You'll get some downtime to visit one of six beaches in the area. Lounge on the beach or take a dip in the ocean as the sun shines brightly overhead.

Sunset Rum Cruise

You can't leave Bermuda without trying a rum swizzle, widely known as the country's national drink. What better way to enjoy this delicious beverage than on a sunset cruise? On your rum cruise , you'll sail to the Great Sound, where you can view some island homes and learn more about the island's history. A rum expert — appropriately known as a rumologist — will guide the tour, allowing you to try different local rums. If you like what you taste, you can purchase some bottles to take home as gifts or keep for yourself.

Electric bike by the water

If you want a unique experience while docked in Bermuda, plan to tour the island on an electric bike. You won't have to worry about pedaling up hills since the bike gives you a boost, allowing you to relax and enjoy the island sights. Starting on the island's Eastern End, you'll travel along different trails, exploring parts of the island many tourists never see. From seaside landscapes to shoreline beaches, the views on this e-bike tour will give you a new appreciation of this incredible island.

Island Drive

Do you have FOMO (fear of missing out)? If so, the Bermuda Island Drive tour is perfect for you. After docking, you'll depart the cruise ship and board a comfortable bus for a full tour of the island. As part of the drive, you'll see the island's Horseshoe Bay, famous for its charming pink sand beaches. Other notable highlights on this tour include the Gibbs Hill Lighthouse, Somerset Bridge, and the town of St. George's. You'll end the tour in the island's capital city, Hamilton, where you can shop or dine before returning to the dockyard.
