Arguably the best cycling occasion in the Tararuas, bring your leg power to Mangatainoka on March 14th for the annual Bush Cycle Tour. All new races this year comprising of 5 km, 15 km, 40 km, 80 km and 120 km classes all avoiding any main roads.

The 5 km race is perfect for kids and gives them a great opportunity to experience cycle racing, all kids go with a free adult. There will be family-friendly activities on the day so we encourage you to bring your little people along. The 40 km leg is perfect for the e-bike owners out there, and the longer stages will see cyclists take a return route via Alferton/Pongaroa.

Lots of epic prizes to be won on the day.

RACE TO THE BREWERY –  24 february

Race to the Brewery was created by Property Brokers in 2011 to raise money for the Manawatu Cancer Society. Since then, tens of thousands of dollars have been raised for not only the Cancer Society but also the Rescue Helicopter. In 2018 a scholarship fund was also introduced, alongside the other donations, to support young Manawatu athletes achieve their goals. For more info and registrations.

Right here at Tui Brewery on the last Sunday of each month we invite cars and motorbike owners to bring their ride to participate in one of our Mangatainoka Motors Show and Shine Days.

Well, our Toki Motors Shows will get your motor humming. Well known by all kiwi engine enthusiasts as a fabulous day out, these shows give you the chance to display your sweet ride for other car lovers and the general public to enjoy, and you can compete to win some epic prizes while you’re at it! Now we bet that got your attention.

While you are here, enjoy the live music, delicious food, a cleansing ale, jump on a brewery tour, take a look at our Histui Museum or do a bit of shopping on merch at the Tui Shop. We’re excited to hit the road with you! 

Our goal is to facilitate a life-changing journey with a Guided Tour that fits your needs. Our Guided Tours provide a range of experiences: long weekend to epic, pavement to dirt, historically focused to earning the scenic vistas. They also come in a variety of lengths and difficulties as well as different levels of support and price points. We offer everything from self-sufficient nights under the stars to fully catered experiences and inn-to-inn options.  

Every tour comes with knowledgeable Tour Leaders, routing, navigation, and reservations. All you have to do is participate! Some tours provide opportunities to get to know your fellow riders better, such as group-made meals and grocery shopping, while other types of tours are less interactive. Participation in these small group activities on some tour types is all part of the Adventure Cycling experience.

Types of Tours

We have a variety of tour formats that suit different styles of touring. All come in different lengths and levels of difficulty, which we call Adventure Levels, ranging from Level 1 to Level 5. Generally, our tours have between 10 and 15 participants, with the exception being our larger Fully Supported Events.

Self-Contained This type of touring is all pedal power and no vehicular support. All shared gear is carried by the group, and cooking responsibilities rotate among its members. A majority of nights are spent outdoors under the stars. An indoor stay or restaurant may be sprinkled in just when you need it the most.

Inn-to-Inn This is the type of tour for those of us who prefer the comforts of a cozy bed. As the name suggests, each night is spent indoors. Breakfasts and dinners are enjoyed in restaurants. Although there is no vehicle support, you’ll only need to carry the minimal gear of your clothes, toiletries, basic repair items, water, and a bag lunch for the day.

Van-Supported If you prefer touring without the load of a full set of panniers, but you still love camping, we have a van and trailer to haul your gear. Just worry about pedaling. Carry nothing more than water/lunch/snacks and maybe some rain gear if the weather’s dodgy. You’ll still have fun with your partner rotating on camp cooking duty. But not to worry, on certain tours, there are occasional restaurant meals and indoor stays.

Fully Supported and Family Adventure  Events The top level of support! Meals are catered. Luggage is hauled. Starry night camping for those into tents and motel options for those who aren’t. Water and snack stops along the route. Just enjoy the riding, the scenery, and the people to your front and back. These tours are larger in size (20–50 participants) and staffed by several tour leaders all looking out for you.

Education Not sure you’re ready to take the leap into full-on independent touring? Our Intro to Road and Intro to Gravel Touring & Bikepacking courses help you break down the basics. There’s some in-person classroom work before setting out as a group on a short self contained tour. We also offer Leadership Training Courses for those experienced in bike touring but want to start leading their own groups.

Cycling The Baja California Peninsula in Mexico

One of the first areas we cycled through when we started our bicycle tour around the world was the Baja California Peninsula. Being a popular route among the bicycle touring community we decided to create this guide to help you make the most of your adventure to this fascinating part of Mexico. We hope you like it and find it useful.  

DURATION –  HOW LONG IT TAKES

It can take anywhere between 2 to 4 weeks to cycle the entire length of Baja. If you are a fast cyclist and go lightweight you only need 10-15 days. On the other hand, if you prefer taking your time, plan on doing some side trips and stop to relax every 3-4 days you will need about a month.

WHEN TO GO – CONSIDER THE SEASONS

Being such a long peninsula (1,220 km/760 miles), the weather in Baja is not consistent within the whole territory. However, there are basically 2 main seasons.

From  June to October , the summer time, the weather is the hottest. Temperatures can rise up to 40º C (100º F) in some parts, making cycling during the day very challenging. This season is also the “hurricane season” which can bring some showers, especially in the southern half. The quantity of showers varies a lot from year to year.

December to April is the best time to cycle as the temperature drops and so do the showers. It’s also the whale season. Check out the “side trips” section for detailed information about where you can get close to the Grey whales who visit the Baja Peninsula every year.

WHAT TO BRING –  THE ESSENTIALS

Due to the conditions you will face when cycling the Baja Peninsula, there are a few essential items you will need to bring with you apart from the gear you normally use when bicycle touring.

If you plan to get off highway 1 and hit the backroads, which we recommend, you will need to bring a mountain bike with dirt road tires (at least 1.75 wide). Most of the best trails are unpaved with lots of stones and sometimes soft sand. Bringing a road bike will limit you to stay on the main highway all the time.

As you will be crossing a desert, the towns can be far apart. For that reason you will need a system to carry plenty of water with you. We love our 10L dromedary bags , but anything that can hold at least 5 liters of water would work.

The main highway doesn’t have a shoulder and traffic can be heavy at times. We strongly recommend to bring a good mirror  with you to keep an eye on the trucks passing by. Also, it’s not the place to sleep in a camping hammock , as there are not many trees around (mainly cactus).

You don’t really need a map to cycle Baja, as there is only one main highway and some detours from it. But if you are like us, you like spending time exploring the little trails and the lesser visited areas, here are some options for you.

Basic Baja California maps are sold by many petrol stations, grocery stores or book stores around the peninsula for a few dollars.

According to Ira Sutherland , REI in San Diego has National Geographic maps that have topographic lines at 100 m intervals.

Mexico’s Department of Transportation has useful detailed road maps for all of Mexico. They have been posted online by a Bicycle tourer named Nico and can be downloaded here .

You can’t drink the water from the tap in Mexico and the towns are sometimes far apart in Baja so you will need to plan accordingly.

The first thing you need, as I mentioned before, is a way to carry a few liters of water on your bicycle. A proper water sack or a big plastic bottle (the galon ones you can by in the stores are quite handy) will do the job.

To find drinking water, the cheapest option is to visit the water stations at every town. They are called “purificadoras” and you can get a few liters of drinking water for around a dollar. Most of the time they didn’t even charge us.

Another option is to  bring a filter or another purification system (like tablets for example) with you. Then you only need to get the water from the tap and treat it accordingly. We use and recommend the MSR Miniworks EX Water Filter .

The last solution is buying bottle water which is expensive, uses a lot of plastic and your money goes directly to Coca-Cola.

DIRECTION – NORTH TO SOUTH OR SOUTH TO NORTH?

This is always the dilema. Which direction to go. Everyone we’ve met and read on the web has their own theories to explain which one is better than the other. For us, there isn’t one better than the other. Each one has it’s own advantages and disadvantages.

Most people will tell you the wind normally comes from the north , which suggests heading south will the easy way to go. In our experience, we faced some days of headwind while heading south, especially on the coast of the Sea of Cortez, and other days with tailwinds when cycling the middle section of the peninsula. The wind is not consistent, it changes all the time and we wouldn’t recommend to chose the direction based exclusively on the wind.

Starting in San Diego can be very handy to stock up on supplies you might need for the trip. REI is well stocked, you can find almost anything and at a good price.

Another consideration is crossing the border in Tijuana is much faster and convenient when crossing into Mexico than into the U.S. See the visa section for specific details about the crossing.

ACCOMMODATION – WHERE TO SLEEP?

Depending on your touring style you will find different options to sleep while bicycle touring across the Baja Peninsula.

Wild camping is very easy and highly recommended. The night’s skies are always covered by millions of stars that make the experience very enjoyable. If you are concerned about safety, ask any restaurant by the side of the road to camp in their surroundings. We were never turned down. Another great option is to camp at one of the many isolated beaches around. The areas closed to the border are not recommended to wild camp on your own.

There are also plenty of paid camping areas in most of the towns. Many tourists explore Baja by RV, so RV parks can be found all over the peninsula. They normally have space for tents as well.

Another option is checking into a h otel . These are not very cheap. The best deals we found after a lot of bargaining, was 18 USD for a double room. Hotels tend to be in the bigger towns.

Before we headed off to cycle in Mexico, lots of people warned us about the dangers of the country. Unfortunately, Mexico receives a lot of bad press in the media and most people who warned us hadn’t actually visited the country themselves. All the drug traffic is very targeted to specific regions and the reality is as a bicycle tourist you are very unlikely to get involved in that (unless you start trafficking drugs in your panniers!)

Mexico is by far our favourite country we’ve visited since we began to travel around the world on our bicycles. Mexicans are very friendly and welcome travelers, making you feel at home. Add great food, fascinating culture and gorgeous scenery and you get a wonderful destination for your next trip.

That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be alert, like anywhere you travel in the world. Some areas in the big cities like Tijuana could be a problem, so it’s better if you avoid if possible.

For us the real danger in Mexico is the traffic . The truck drivers drive very fast and don’t normally give you much room when they pass you. Highway 1 doesn’t have a shoulder most of the time so you should bring a mirror and keep an eye on it when pedaling on this road.

Most nationalities (USA, Canada, Europe, Australia & New Zealand) get 6 months visa upon arrival when entering Mexico. The exit tax is 295 Pesos and needs to be paid before leaving the country. If you are leaving by plane, this tax might be included on your flight ticket already.

If you are planning to cross the border at Tijuana, this information is very important. You don’t need a visa if you are not traveling south of Ensenada or for less than 72 hours. The crossing is a simple door you cross and then you are in Tijuana. So your passport won’t get stamped unless you go to the office and ask for it. The customs are on the first door on your right once you pass that door. If you don’t get the stamp, you will have to pay a 100 USD penalty fee when leaving the country, so you better get that entry stamp!

THE ROUTE – HIGHWAY 1

1474 kilometers (915 miles) is the distance between Tijuana and La Paz. These two cities are linked by the highway 1 that zigzags it’s way down the peninsula going from one coast to the other one in repeated times. The scenery is mainly desert crossing different Nature Reserves like “El Valle de los Cirios”, “Reserva de la Biosfera de Vizcaíno”or the stunning “Bahía de Concepción”.

The road is entirely paved and has no shoulder. The traffic can be heavy at times making the cycling a bit risky in some areas. For that reason, we strongly recommend to get off highway 1 as much as you can . Hitting the dirt roads in Baja is a tough adventure. Expect slow progress, remote areas, soft sand and very few people but the rewards of exploring the real Baja outweigh the challenges.

CYCLING DETOURS – GOING OFF HIGHWAY 1

Ensenada – san felipe – bahía luis gonzaga.

It’s 466 kilometers (289 miles) and it takes around 6-7 days to complete at a relaxed pace. The road climbs to leave Ensenada and then stay steady (small ups and downs) from Ojos Negros onwards. Once on the coast it’s mainly flat.

When we were there in 2013, the road was paved all the way to Bahia Luis Gonzaga. From there, there was a very dirt road back to highway 1. There is not much traffic which makes the cycling very pleasant.

The scenery is rocks and mountains for the first 100 kms, then open desert until you get to San Felipe. After that, possibly the best stretch of the whole peninsula starts. A new-paved road with a wide shoulder heads south with the turquoise waters of the Sea of Cortez on your left and a desert landscape on the right.

LORETO – SAN JAVIER – CIUDAD INSURGENTES

It’s 137 kilometers (85 miles) and it takes 2-3 days to complete. You will need wide tires for this route as the entire road is unpaved. There is also a section after San Javier with soft sand so a bit of pushing is required.

The road climbs steeply to San Javier but the traffic is almost non existent. This small mountain town is home of a famous Mission, one of the religious outposts built by the Spanish to spread the Christian doctrine among the locals, which can be found all around Baja California.

After San Javier the road is mainly flat, the scenery opens up so there is little shade. You will also encounter soft sand making progress very slow at times.

LA PAZ – CABO SAN LUCAS – CABO PULMO – LA PAZ

This loop is 427 kilometers (265 miles) and it takes you to the very end of the peninsula. The section that makes this loop worth it is the unpaved road from San José del Cabo to Cabo Pulmo. On that strech you will be pedaling empty roads by the ocean with great opportunities for camping at many of the beautiful beaches you will pass by.

Water can be a problem here so make sure you pack enough for this section as there are very few spots where you can find it. You will also need wide tires to cycle on this dirt road. Some sections have soft sand so a bit of pushing is needed sometimes.

SIDE TRIPS – OFF THE BIKE

Encounters with grey whales at laguna ojo de liebre.

Interacting with Grey Whales is a one in a lifetime experience. One of the peculiarities of these creatures is they have the ability to feel affection. Therefore, it’s very common for the whales to come close to the boats looking to be touched.

Although you can see Grey Whales at other places in Baja, the Laguna Ojo de Liebre is the cheapest of all of them and you will get the welcoming of the Mexican lancheros. No big tour operators here. Only local Mexicans from the Ejido Benito Juarez (a community cooperative), where the Laguna is located.

CAVE PAINTINGS AT SIERRA DE SAN FRANCISCO

Visiting the cave paintings in San Francisco is a whole adventure in itself. Overnight trips are available and require hiring a guide and mules to carry the camping gear and finding the way to the caves. It takes a minimum of 2 days for the round trip. The INAH doesn’t allow travellers to hike independently to where the paintings are. You will need to organize this in San Ignacio with a tour company or, if you speak fluent Spanish, in San Francisco directly with the INAH.

KAYAKING AROUND ESPÍRITU SANTO ISLAND

We spent one week exploring the beautiful Island of Espíritu Santo by kayak in the Sea of Cortez, about 20 km from La Paz, Baja California. If you like enjoying the nature in solitude, exploring areas where there is no civilization and feeling conected to the surroundings, then Espiritu Santo Island is for you. We absolutely loved the week we spent there. It was one of the highlights of Baja California.

Cycling Baja California can be done on almost any budget. However, the area is not as cheap as the rest of Mexico. Prices here are considerably higher than in the rest of the country but still cheaper than those in the U.S., Canada or Europe. Don’t forget to check our Travel Budget to Cycle Baja California . We are budget travelers and managed to spend around 7 dollars per person per day.

A simple double room with bathroom onsite in a hotel costs around 20-30 USD. Camping areas and RV parks charge around 8-10 USD to pitch the tent. These prices are normally negotiable, so bargain hard but always with a smile.

Eating in a restaurant is expensive for Mexican standards. A set meal costs about 5-9 dollars. However, taco stands are everywhere and these are cheap and tasty. In our case, we didn’t find tacos filling enough after a day on the saddle, so we used to cook our pasta and then go to the taco stands to sample some local food.

If you plan to sleep in a room every night and eat at a restaurant twice a day, you will need around 30 dollars a day. If you want to check into a room once every few days and sample some of the local food, then you will be looking at around 15 dollars per day. If you plan to wild camp and cook your own meals you can easily get by on 5-10 dollars per day.

WHAT WE LIKED THE MOST

• The mexicans. Great people, always smiling and chatty with the travellers.
• Getting close to Grey Whales at Laguna Ojo de Liebre.
• Gorgeous scenery through all the peninsula.
• The beaches of the Sea of Cortez: Luis Gonzaga, Bahia Concepción, around La Paz, Cabo Pulmo and many others.
• Local food. We became addicted to the taco stands!

WHAT WE DIDN’T LIKE THAT MUCH

• The traffic. It can be dangerous in some spots of highway 1.
• The intense heat during the day
• Get off the highway 1 as much as you can and explore the backroads to discover the real Baja California.
• Learn a bit of spanish and have conversations with the locals. They are looking forward to know about you!
• Take your time. Enjoy day by day and embrace the Mexican pace of life. Allow enough time so you can stop whenever you want to explore the back roads, take side trips off the bike, meet local families and taste the local food.

My friends and I were talking about riding through Baja last night. I have ridden self contained from Canada to San Diego on my touring bike. We are finishing in cabo and are debating on shipping our bike boxes to a hotel or bike shop in cabo or if there are bike shops with bike boxes and packing materials there.

If anyone has experience with this please let us know.

It shouldn’t be too difficult to find a bike box either in Cabo or La Paz.

We met some cyclists who got boxes for their bikes in La Paz. Just go to any bike shops and ask them if they have any. If they don’t, they probably know where you can find them.

In the meantime, yes. The road from San Javier reconnects to highway 1 north of Ciudad Insurgentes. It’s a beautiful section, just be prepared for some pushing after San Javier!

Great guide! Especially the ink to all those maps helped us enormously. We’re in winter break in Tijuana in the moment, will keep on pedaling south in April. And a couple of things have changed at the border. I used to go and look for an officer who then searched for a box with a stamp so I could have something to fill my empty passport, but (at least in San Ysidro border, Tijuana) those times are over. The border crossing building has been remodeled and now everybody without a car has to queue in a line. Left for Mexicans, right for everyone else. Then you get to talk to a border officer. If you plan to stay for less than 7 days, you’ll get a stamp and are done with that. But if you want to stay longer (up to 6 Months for Germans, I guess it’s the same time frame for US-citizens) you fill out a form and pay a fee (some 20$ if I recall right). You can pay (as everywhere in Tijuana) in Pesos or Dollars. Then you get a stamp and get to keep the form (with another stamp). Don’t lose it! Also, from now on, Tijuana is working hard on its image and on bike friendliness. We’re promoting warmshowers every day to make Tijuana that one first encounter with the great Mexican hospitality, instead of that “dirty, dusty and dangerous” place that it is often seen as. Hey! Im brazilian and me and 2 buddies did this trip back in 86, we started in la paz and was during summer, the heat was impossible to deal with, so we just traveled by Night. We stayed on the 1 all the time, it was tough to find proper food back then, no gps bla bla, but it was a really fun adventure. First thing we did after getting in the US was go straight ahead to a mc donalds!

Oh man, cycling during summer in Baja must have been a real challenge!

Planning on spending Sunday outside, or at least moving about the city? You'll have to dodge more than just raindrops.

The Five Boro Bike Tour will be making its way through New York City. The 40-mile route starts in lower Manhattan, going up Sixth Avenue into Central Park and through Harlem before crossing over into the Bronx briefly. It then comes back onto FDR Drive, crosses the Queensboro Bridge and into Long Island City.

Next is a trip across the Pulaski Bridge into Greenpoint before going onto the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway and the Gowanus Parkway. From there, the tour hits the Verrazzano Bridge and into Staten Island. The finish is at Fort Wadsworth.

It all kicks off at the intersection of Franklin Street and Church Street at 7:30 a.m., though participants in Wave 1 should probably be there before that time. Waves 2-6 then go off between 8:05 a.m. and 10:25 a.m. Participants will be crossing the finish line at Fort Wadsworth between 10 a.m. and noon.

Bridge and Tunnel Closings

The Staten Island-bound lower level of the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge will be closed from 2:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, the MTA said. Additionally, because the BQE and Gowanus Expressway will be closed in part as well, traffic won't be able to access the bridge via that approach from about 9:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.

According to the MTA, other closings for the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge will include:

• One Brooklyn-bound lane on the lower level from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.  
• The Bay St exit from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.  
• The 92nd St entrance ramp to the Staten Island-bound lower level from approximately 12:01 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.  
• The Belt Parkway entrance ramp to the Staten Island-bound lower level from approximately 12:01 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.  
• The Lily Pond Av exit from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.  

The exit ramp for the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge to the southbound FDR Drive will be closed from around 7:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Traffic will have to exit the RFK Bridge by using the Second Avenue-East 125th Street ramp.

The Hugh L. Carey Tunnel to the westbound Gowanus Expressway and BQE will be closed from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., with exiting traffic diverted to Hamilton Avenue. The Trinity Place exit in Manhattan will also be closed from approximately 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., according to the MTA.

Things to watch during sunday’s cup race at darlington.

DARLINGTON, S.C. — Cup teams take on Darlington Raceway for the first time this season Sunday afternoon (3 p.m. ET on FS1). This race marks the midpoint of the regular season and another opportunity for drivers to contend for spots in the playoffs.

Joe Gibbs Racing (four wins) and Hendrick Motorsports (six wins) have won the most races this season. Trackhouse Racing and 23XI Racing each has one win.

Here are the three things to watch in today’s race:

1. Late race restarts

What will happen late in the race at Darlington? The last three spring races have featured incidents that changed the outcome.

A nine-car incident in 2022 set up a restart with 26 laps remaining. It collected drivers who had raced inside the top 10 during the final stage including Kurt Busch, Martin Truex Jr., Bubba Wallace and Denny Hamlin.

Later in that race, William Byron had the lead and an opportunity to score his first career Cup win at Darlington. He ended up in the wall after Joey Logano moved him with two laps remaining. Logano won while Byron finished 13th.

Byron was on the receiving end of some late-race fortune in last spring’s race at Darlington. Ross Chastain and Kyle Larson crashed while racing for the lead, sending the race to overtime.

That incident opened an opportunity for Byron to restart on the front row. He capitalized, taking the lead from Kevin Harvick and going on to win for the first time at the 1.366-mile track.

Will there be another late-race caution that shuffles the field back up for overtime or a late dash to the checkered flag? All four Next Gen races at Darlington have featured a caution late in the final stage.

So will drivers prepare for this potential outcome?

“I pay attention to launches on restarts,” Byron said. “I pay attention to lane selection, but I’m not losing sleep on what’s going to happen on a green-white-checkered here or late in the race. It’s just how I manage my tires and my equipment to make the best 40-lap, 50-lap run I can do.”

2. Seven races, seven winners

The last seven Cup races at Darlington Raceway have featured seven different winners representing the three manufacturers.

William Byron and Kyle Larson split last season’s races at the 1.366-mile track. Erik Jones and Joey Logano won in 2022. Martin Truex Jr., Denny Hamlin and Kevin Harvick have all won since the 2020 season.

Hamlin and Harvick, who split the 2020 races at Darlington, are the last drivers to repeat at the Track Too Tough to Tame.

There are multiple drivers capable of extending the streak to eight different winners, starting with drivers lining up inside the top 10. Pole winner Tyler Reddick has finished second, third, 22nd and second in the four Next Gen races at Darlington. He has led 100 laps in this stretch.

Similarly, Chris Buescher has improved at Darlington throughout his career. Last season, he finished 10th and third in the two trips to the South Carolina track. Buescher starts on the second row one week after finishing second in NASCAR’s closest-ever finish.

“We’ve obviously had a crazy week with plenty to talk about and what we took out of that was, ‘Let’s bring speed to Darlington and go win it there and put that one behind us,’” Buescher said.

Brad Keselowski and Bubba Wallace are two other drivers with an opportunity to become the eighth different winner in eight races at Darlington.

Keselowski has three consecutive top-10 finishes at Darlington. He starts on the front row. Wallace also has three consecutive top-10 finishes at Darlington. He starts eighth for Sunday’s race.

3. A new right-side tire

Sunday’s race will feature a change. The Cup cars will have the same right-side tire code used in last weekend’s race at Kansas. This is a tire that delivered falloff throughout the race, to the point that Kyle Larson had worn his tires down and lost pace prior to the final caution.

Will this new right-side tire have an impact at Darlington, a track already known for its cheese grater-like quality?

There are some questions among the drivers. Some, like Christopher Bell, didn’t know there was a change to the tires ahead of Sunday’s race. Others, like Ricky Stenhouse Jr., spent time during the week preparing for the new right-side tires. This time studying led to expectations there will be extra emphasis on conservation early as drivers try to figure out how much the tires will wear.

“This place wears out tires a lot,” Stenhouse said. “So I think we’re all kind of wondering if that will happen. I mean, I don’t think (tire wear is) a bad thing.”

“I think with the racing, you’ll see pretty similar stuff,” Byron said. “I think this tire has been really good though. I would say this tire has a bit more feel to it.

“Like you can slide the car. You can manipulate the car a little bit more. I like that, but it’s not a huge difference.”
