Cypress Hill and Ice Cube announce joint High Rollers Tour

The six-date UK and Ireland jaunt is taking place in early December 2023 

Cypress Hill and Ice Cube are teaming up for a run of UK and Ireland tour dates.

The six-date High Rollers Tour will kick off at Glasgow’s Hydro on December 5th and head to Birmingham, Manchester, Dublin and London – stopping at the O2 Arena on the 11th – before ending at Nottingham's Motorpoint Arena on the 12th of December.

The hip-hop VIPs will be joined on the lineup by The Game. Pick up pre-sale tickets for the tour here  and see the flyer below.

Cypress Hill released their  10th studio album 'Back in Black'  last year and recently revealed their plan to make a joke from their 1996 cameo on The Simpsons,   in which they collaborate with the London Symphony Orchestra, "a reality". 

Meanwhile, Ice Cube said earlier this year that  he won't stop fighting for the rights to the Friday film franchise – the cult stoner buddy comedy he first starred in alongside Chris Tucker in 1996.

Ice Cube has announced details of a 2023 UK and Ireland tour in the winter with support from Cypress Hill and The Game . Check out dates and ticket details below.

The rap icon previously performed around the world last year with fellow West Coast rap legends Snoop Dogg , E-40 and Too $hort for the supergroup’s Mount Westmore tour.

Now, the Californian shared has new solo dates for the ‘High Rollers Volume 1’ tour with Cypress Hill and The Game, telling UK fans: “We coming across that water. You know where we be…”

Since his ‘Born 2 Rap’ tour in 2020, The Game hasn’t performed in the UK, whereas Cypress Hill are set to perform at the upcoming Boardmasters festival. The last time Ice Cube played a gig in the UK and Ireland was in 2011.

The tour will commence in Glasgow at the OVO Hydro on December 5 and end a week later at Nottingham’s Motorpoint Arena. Tickets go on sale next Friday (June 16) at 10am and will be available here .

The ‘High Rollers: Volume 1’ tour dates are:

In December last year, the film and hip-hop star dropped a new record entitled ‘Snoop, Cube, 40, $hort’ with Mount Westmore.  In a three-star review, NME said that the album “having to accommodate four distinct styles and personalities is no simple task – but while there are moments of brilliance, it’s clear there are too many chefs in the kitchen.”

It has also recently been announced that I ce Cube will join Run-DMC for their headline set at a one-off celebratory concert , honouring 50 years of hip-hop. Hip-Hop 50 Live will also see Snoop Dogg, Eve , Common and more perform at the event.

The Game dropped his 11th studio album ‘Drillmatic – Heart vs. Mind’ last year and called it “the best rap album out right now”. It featured rap stars like A$AP Rocky , Pusha T and Kanye West , as well as a 10-minute long diss to Eminem called ‘The Black Slim Shady’ .

In April, Cypress Hill said they want to make a The Simpsons’ joke about them performing with a classical orchestra into “a reality.” Also, they have sued Peloton , a fitness subscription service, for illegally using the rap troupe’s 1993 track ‘Insane In The Brain’.

Last year, the group announced that the next record they release will be their “final traditional” album . The news came ahead of the release of their 10th studio album, ‘Back In Black’, in 2022.

Ice Cube at London’s O2: Timings, support act, and set list

Californian rapper Ice Cube is bringing his High Rollers tour to London’s O2 for one night only.

The award-winning musician and actor first found fame as a member of the hip-hop group NWA , known for songs like Straight Outta Compton and F*** Tha Police.

He then went on to forge a solo career as both a rapper and actor, as well as a director and producer .

Now, fans of Ice Cube will be looking forward to see the rapper perform live at the O2 tonight, December 11.

Last week, Ice Cube promised that fans would feel the ‘California Love from the giants of the West Coast’. He proved to be a man of his word after a dazzling show at the AO Arena on Thursday (December 8).

The High Rollers Tour was billed as a spectacle of west coast legends with Cypress Hill, Cube and The Game advertised. Unfortunately, The Game couldn't make it and has since been replaced by Detroit natives D12, best known for being Eminem’s childhood friends and rap crew.

Originally a group of six, D12 was more D3 with members Swifty, McVay and Kuniva flying the flag for the collective. Halfway through their set they were joined by Nasaan Holton, the son of Proof, who was a childhood friend of Eminem and the man responsible for forming D12.

As the opener to a modest but enthusiastic crowd they tore through some of the groups biggest hits like '40oz', 'Fight Music', 'My Band' and 'Purple Pills'. In what turned into a touching tribute to Proof, Nasaan rapped his father’s verses for the songs while clips of the band's old music videos were played on a massive screen behind them.

There was even a cover of Eminem’s 'Lose Yourself' which was elevated by the wicked riffs of their guitarist Jake Bass, who is the son of the song’s co-producer, Jeff Bass.

After D12’s short but accomplished and professional set, the levels went up another notch when Cypress Hill took to the stage. Scratch master DJ Lord, supreme percussionist Eric Bobo and rappers Sen Dog and the mighty B-Real had thousands in their palm of their hand as they ran through a medley of their greatest hits.

After DJ Lord won the crowd over with a brain busting mix of KRS-One’s 'Sound of da Police' and 'Metallica’s Enter Sandman', B-Real swaggered on to the stage smoking something that definitely wasn’t a vape, flanked by his rap partner Sen Dog.

B-Real posed the rhetorical question: “When Cypress come to town, we bring you an experience, yes?”. The crowd agreed, as not a single person sat or stood still as they performed tunes like Dr Green Thumb, I Wanna Get High and of course the trippy 'Insane in the Membrane.'

Buoyed by the Manchester crowd, who they proclaimed “f***ed Birmingham up”, they finished the set with a cover of House of Pain’s ‘Jump Around’ which was produced by Cypress Hill member DJ Muggs.

At some point during his ferocious set, Ice Cube posed the question “After 35 years, can he still get on the mic and do what you like?”. Oh yes he can.

The longest set of the night, and deservedly so, Cube’s booming voice cut through the arena as he spat with vivid clarity. His stage presence was exemplary and the hard hitting 808's that left your ribcage rattling made him feel larger than life on that stage.

Verses from hit songs like 'Straight Outta Compton', 'Check Yo Self, Why We Thugs', 'No Vaseline' and 'It Was A Good Day' sounded exactly like the recordings except this time with the backing of frequent collaborator and hype man Dub C. In between each song Cube would give a little backstory or teaser to remind old fans and educate new ones before rampaging into another verse.

The show was a long one, but well worth it and it was even more of a delight to see grown men and women relive their youth, captivated by rap legends who have paved the way for the great success of a genre that has taken over the world in just fifty years.
