A visit to DePaul University is ideal, but virtual tours can act to refresh your memory or as a preview for your on-site tour.

Do I Really Need to Take a Tour?

Inevitably, on-campus tours of classrooms, libraries, dorms, and dining halls will start to blend. Jog your memory using the virtual tour and even explore the area surrounding the campus using the interactive mapping tool. If you're just beginning your college search, a virtual tour can be a great way to get a feel for a campus before your visit. Remember, when you do go, be sure to ask current students about their college life. A student perspective can be the most helpful way to gauge your future experience at DePaul.

Use the resources below to start your virtual tour.

Using the Map

Click and drag the little orange person to a location on the map. Locations with panoramas appear as blue lines or blue dots when moving the orange person. The blue dots are panoramic views that you may swivel. The blue lines are paths that you can navigate along.

Panoramic View

You can "pan" or "swivel" the camera around by clicking on the image and dragging your mouse or finger. If you see a white arrow on the picture, you can click or tap on it to move in the direction of the arrow. This will also update the location of the little orange person on the map so you can get a better sense of where you are and what direction you are facing.

Converted Housing

Often, residents who are assigned to converted housing have questions about what this type of housing is and why we implement it in our residence halls. This page includes frequently asked questions and a virtual tour of a converted housing unit to help familiarize you with this type of assignment. If you need more details after reviewing the information on this page, please email the Housing & Residence Life office at [email protected] .

FAQs for Residents of Converted Housing

What is converted housing, which halls include converted housing.

Converted housing units in LeCompte Hall  and  Ozanam Hall  are furnished to allow three residents in the room.

Will my housing rate be affected by converted housing?

What will my room be like.

The furnishings in converted housing units are adjusted to allow for adequate clothing and supplementary storage as well as a bed, desk, and chair for each resident. The units are large enough to accommodate all furnishings.

The room set up for ideal space utilization in converted housing spaces is two (2) beds in a bunked configuration and one (1) bed lofted. This is how all converted spaces are set before move in and alterations from this plan are rare to ensure the most comfort for residents and best overall use of space. As the quarter progresses, if occupancy in a converted triple changes to two residents instead of three, there may be more flexibility with room configuration and setup.

See the virtual tour for an example of a lived-in converted unit in Ozanam Hall.

Am I a permanent resident of my unit?

All students who are assigned to converted housing are considered permanent residents of that unit and are not required to move during the academic year. Should you decide to request a move, that request will be processed ahead of regular room change requests, as space permits.

My converted room came with a lofted bed and a set of bunk beds. Can this configuration be changed?

Furniture has been arranged within converted triple rooms to optimize space for residents. Due to space limitations, it is not feasible to separate the bunk beds or alter the bed configuration. While the current furniture arrangement can be adjusted within its existing layout, lofting all three beds or separating the bunk beds is not viable. In the event that a room transitions from a converted triple (if one of the three roommates departs), our staff will coordinate the removal of the third set of furniture, allowing you the flexibility to configure your room according to your preferences (lofted, unlofted, etc.).

Virtual Tours

360 virtual tours of converted housing units are not yet available for all halls, but see below for views of a converted housing unit in Ozanam Hall.

Commonly Asked Questions

Who can live in the honors llc, do honors students have to live in the honors llc, where is the honors llc, are there additional costs to live in the honors llc, how do i opt-in to the honors llc.

After you are accepted to the Honors Program, you can opt-in to live in the Honors Living Learning Community. Opting-in to the Honors LLC is a two-step process.

Step 1: In your  Blue Demon Domain , complete your Housing Agreement. Do this by referring to your Next Steps Checklist and completing the 'Request On-Campus Housing and Pay Deposit' step.*
