Announced today (December 11), the tour dates will see the band play a series of live shows across the country in celebration of their latest studio album ‘EBM’ .

Set to kick off in February next year, the tour dates will see the band play six shows across spring 2024. These launch with an opening night at the NX venue in Newcastle on February 26, and continues the following day with a gig at the O2 Academy in Leeds.

From there, the band will make a stop at the O2 Academy in Liverpool on February 28 for their last show of the month, before picking up again in March for three back-to-back shows. These include a gig at the Forum in Bath (March 1), Birmingham’s O2 Academy (2) and the O2 Guildhall in Southampton (3).

Tickets go on sale this Thursday (December 14) at 10am local time. Visit here to buy tickets and find a full list of tour dates in the poster below.

As aforementioned, the new run of 2024 UK shows comes in celebration of Editor’s latest studio album ‘EBM’. Released in September last year, the album marked the band’s seventh LP and saw the members venture into new, electro-industrial territory.

Upon its release, ‘EBM’ was given a three-star review by NME , who described it as containing “flashes of their very best”.

“Unlike their early records, on ‘EBM’, Editors straddle heart-tugging hits with their now more familiar, visceral rock numbers. Synth-stabbing ‘Strawberry Lemonade’, for instance, is as unnerving as it is foot stomping with its screeching bleeps and drum beats,” it read.

“Elsewhere, the bludgeoning ‘Picturesque’ comes on like a frenzied attack to the senses and ‘Strange Intimacy’ is a head-spinning closer that leaves a bitter taste in the mouth. ‘EBM’, then, goes some way to bringing the seasoned band back to what they do best, all the while pushing things forward.”

More recently, guitarist Justin Lockey – who sat out of the band’s summer 2022 dates due to “struggles with anxiety” – opened up to NME about what led to his decision and the ways he has worked to improve his lifestyle .

“A lot of people who aren’t in bands or in the music industry think that touring is this non-stop party of just waking up in different cities, after-shows and great gigs – but it’s not,” he said. “It can be a very isolating, lonely and strange existence. You’re not in the same routine as most of the rest of the planet. No one outside of music understands your routine.”

He later went on to say that his approach to touring had “completely changed”, thanks to actively “[changing] the balance and [putting] my interests up to a point where I can be cognitively focussed when I’m not doing music, but the other disciplines make you more excited about music”.

Tom Smith of Editors: Best Ofs

Over their 17 year career, all six of Editors’ studio albums have made the Top 10 of the UK Album Charts - two of which scored numbers ones; An End Has A Start (2007) and In This Light and on This Evening (2009).

Editors' 2005 debut The Back Room , which reached number two, was also shortlisted for the prestigious Mercury Prize.

2020 saw the band play their biggest UK headline show to date at OVO Arena , Wembley and their success at home has been matched by their appeal across the channel, with the band regularly selling out tours and headlining festivals throughout Europe and beyond.

Editors to close 2023 tour with huge Bristol show

The indie-rock titans are embarking on a small-scale tour of the UK and Ireland in January and February.

Birmingham group Editors have revealed a full list of dates for their latest headline tour, which will see them with an appearance at Bristol’s Marble Factory.

Known for their unique blend of pop sensibilities and dark, angular guitar, Editors will be going back on the road in support of their upcoming seventh studio album,  EBM .

Tickets for the Bristol show, which is scheduled for 2 February 2023, go on sale tomorrow (Friday 10 June) and can be found here .

Very pleased to announce our new album, EBM, alongside new track ‘Karma Climb’ and new tour dates. EBM is released on 23rd September via Play It Again Sam. Editors were brought together in 2003 in the midst of the buzzing post-punk revival scene that included contemporaries such as White Lies and Interpol and drew influence from bands Echo & the Bunnymen, Joy Division and many more.

Fronted by the enigmatic Tom Smith (pictured below), the band began to turn heads with a string of promising singles under indie label Kitchenware as well as a standout performance at Glastonbury in 2005.

Their eagerly-anticipated debut  The Back Room  was released in the same year with the single ‘Munich’ entering the UK top 5 and going platinum, and the album ultimately earning a Mercury Prize nomination.

An End Has a Start , Editors’ sophomore LP, again earned platinum sales and saw the band embark on a mammoth run of shows over the next two years, including a European tour with US giants R.E.M.

In the following years, Editors began to experiment with genre a great deal more. The band’s next record,  In This Light and on This Evening  (2009), debuted a brand-new electronic sound and  The Weight of Your Love  (2013) proved far more ambitious brand of stadium rock.

2015’s self-produced fifth record,  In Dream , was followed by  Violence  in 2018. The group’s seventh album,  EBM  (see album art below), was announced earlier this week.

It will be the first full-length release to feature new member Benjamin John Power and is set to be released on 23 September.

Early next year, Editors will head out on a UK and Ireland tour, beginning at Nottingham’s Rock City in January 2023 and visiting Manchester, Glasgow, Dublin and London before culminating at The Marble Factory, an expansive warehouse space located within the sprawling Motion complex.

editors uk tour 2023

Editors have never been a band who do what’s expected. When they emerged in the early 2000s, university friends from Birmingham, they were swept into a wave of indie groups with whom they had little in common beyond playing guitars. Then, after their 2005 Mercury Prize-shortlisted debut The Back Room and 2007 #1 follow-up An End Has A Start, they switched up their sound for synths. That was their first act of bravery, says frontman Tom Smith, and they’ve been taking risks ever since. “We’re quite used to that feeling of scaring our audience with new material,” he says with a smile.

About editors.

Editors are an English rock band, formed in 2002 in Birmingham. Previously known as Pilot, The Pride and Snowfield, the band currently consists of Tom Smith (lead vocals, guitar, piano), Russell Leetch (bass guitar, synthesizer, backing vocals), Ed Lay (drums, percussion, backing vocals), Justin Lockey (lead guitar), and Elliott Williams (keys, synthesizers, guitars, and backing vocals). Editors have so far released two platinum studio albums, and five in total, with several million combined sales. Their debut album The Back Room was released in 2005. It contained the hits "Munich" and "Blood" and the following year received a Mercury Prize nomination. Their follow-up album An End Has a Start went to number 1 in the UK Album Chart in June 2007 and earned the band a Brit Awards nomination for best British Band. It also spawned another Top 10 hit single, "Smokers Outside the Hospital Doors". The band's third album, In This Light and on This Evening, was released in October 2009 and went straight to number 1 in the UK Album Chart. The band released their fourth studio album, The Weight of Your Love, in July 2013, followed by self-produced In Dream in October 2015. Alongside their critical acclaim and strong success in the charts, Editors have consistently enjoyed sold-out tours and numerous headlining festival slots. Their brand of dark indie rock is commonly compared to the sound of bands such as Echo & the Bunnymen, Joy Division, Interpol, The Chameleons and U2.

Drakensberg Boys Choir touring the UK: Secure your tickets now

South Africa’s world-renowned Drakensberg Boys Choir are currently in England for their Hear Us Sing UK Tour. Get your tickets NOW!

Drakensberg Boys Choir

South Africa’s internationally acclaimed Drakensberg Boys Choir is currently in England for their “Hear Us Sing UK Tour,” which will continue until Monday, 30 September.

This tour promises to be an electrifying celebration of talent, culture, and  music  transcending borders.

From soul-stirring classical pieces by Mozart and Carl Orff to the infectious energy of Afro-pop music from Miriam Makeba, Mango Groove and Johnny Clegg, the ‘Drakies’ will no doubt deliver performances that will leave UK audiences spellbound – and eager for more.

There will be  seven  shows in total, the first of which took place on Sunday evening in London.

Further shows (as listed below) are scheduled for Oxford, London, Somerset, Worcestershire and South Yorkshire.

Space is limited and tickets are selling fast.

Don’t miss out!

About the Drakensberg Boys Choir

The Drakensberg Boys Choir School (DBCS) aims to prepare boys for life and leadership through excellence in music, academics, sports, and social enrichment in a Christian environment. Known affectionately as “Drakie boys,” students are moulded to harness their musical talents to bring hope and positive change in South Africa and globally. With a 57-year history, DBCS is the only established choir school in South Africa, earning international respect and producing young men of exemplary character.

For many of the boys, attending this world-class choir school is a long-held dream come true.

The blessing of talent does not only come to boys from families that can afford to pay for their children’s unique education in the majestic Drakensberg mountains in South Africa.

Unfortunately, a boy’s world-class talent cannot be realised due to a lack of funding.

As a result, the Drakies bursary fund is critical in providing deserving boys with the opportunity to perform on the world choir stage, an honour they would not have had without generous donations to our bursary fund.

Proceeds from the UK tour will go to the bursary fund.

Click  here  for a taste of the classical and Afro-Pop arrangements that audiences in the UK can look forward to.
