Captain Gopichand Thotakura on Sunday became the first Indian ever to tour the edge of space on Blue Origin's crewed flight mission.
Vijayawada-born pilot Thotakura has become the second Indian to visit space, after Rakesh Sharma's historic flight on Russia's Soyuz T-11 spacecraft in 1984.
After Sharma, three persons of Indian origin have reached space -- Kalpana Chawla (1997), Sunita Williams (2006), and Raja Chari (2021) as NASA astronauts.
"Capsule touchdown. Welcome back, #NS25 crew!" Blue Origin said in a post on X.
The seventh human flight missions by the Jeff Bezos-owned company also carried five others -- 90-year-old Ed Dwight, Mason Angel, Sylvain Chiron, Kenneth L. Hess, and Carol Schaller.
The 11-minute flight launched at 8.06 pm IST from the company's Launch Site One in West Texas.
The reusable New Shepard rocket, on its 25th mission, will fly the six-person crew to space above the Karman line -- an internationally recognised boundary of space that lies 100 km above the Earth's surface.
This is Blue Origin's first flight in nearly two years, after the New Shepard rocket was grounded for months after a failed uncrewed launch in September 2022.

Ireland's men's cricket team to tour Pakistan for first time in 2025
Ireland's women's team had toured pakistan for the first time in 2022 and the men's team will follow suit next year. interestingly, pakistan cricket board (pcb) had earlier stated that the two teams will play the test series as well but later denied it..
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi is also in Ireland at the moment with the national team and met his counterpart Brain MacNeice. Initially, PCB had released a statement confirming that Ireland has agreed to play a Test series in Pakistan but later denied any such possibility contradicting its own statement. "Chairman Cricket Ireland said that the Irish team would visit Pakistan next year in August-September for a Test series and would also review the possibility of a women's team tour to Pakistan soon," the PCB statement read.
For now though, Cricket Ireland has confirmed that its men's team will tour Pakistan for three T20Is and as many ODIs next year. "We are delighted to have welcomed Chairman Naqvi to Dublin and we had a very productive meeting. The presence of the PCB chairman in Ireland was very much appreciated and is a strong indicator of the excellent relationship between the two boards.

The dashing wicket-keeper batter returned to competitive cricket after a painstakingly long rehab following a horrific car crash in December 2022. The 26-year-old resumed his duties as the Delhi Capitals captain. "Pant is a young captain, he'll learn with time. The way he returned from injury to play a full season; we had our doubts during the off season," Ganguly told JioCinema.
"Indian players are crucial, especially since the TATA IPL shifted to 10 teams. I am very happy for him that he returned to play so well over a full season. He has all my well wishes for whatever is next," Ganguly added.
Pant has time and again showcased his astute captaincy during the IPL, while he has also erred in his decisions a few times.
"With time, he'll become a better captain. Nobody is a great captain from day one, but he is an instinctual captain, he makes decisions on the ground. With more time, he'll get better." DC ended their league stage with seven wins and seven losses. Although they are still alive in the playoffs race as they have a mathematical chance, but in all probability they have all but played their last game this season.
The likes of pacers Mukesh Kumar and Rasikh Dar Salam rose to the occasion a few times this season and Ganguly was lavish in his praise for the duo.
"You've seen Rasikh's development over time. The more matches he played, the better he got. It's not easy to bowl on the Delhi wicket. This wicket is great, and the ground isn't that big, so I think for any bowler, it isn't easy to bowl here. Rasikh has improved a lot.
"Mukesh has been our best bowler this season. He bowls all the difficult overs, whether at the start or at the death. There has been no match this season where we didn't need his bowling in the death," he said.
"We knew that conceding sixes would lead to more losses, so he has consistently delivered there. Our Indian bowlers have been great this season."

Cricket Ireland confirms white-ball tour to Pakistan in 2025
I reland have confirmed their men's side will tour Pakistan for the first time in 2025. While exact details of the tour are yet to be finalized, Cricket Ireland released a statement on Monday indicating they will travel to Pakistan next year for a tour provisionally set to be held in August/September. The two teams are currently battling it out in a three-match T20I series in Ireland in preparation for next month's ICC Men's T20 World Cup and Cricket Ireland's Chair Brian MacNeice held discussions with PCB Chair Mohsin Naqvi about their tour of Pakistan in 2025. MacNeice indicated the discussions were healthy and it had been agreed that Ireland would tour Pakistan next year, in what would be the first visit of their men's side to the Asian country.
"We are delighted to have welcomed Chairman Naqvi to Dublin and we had a very productive meeting. The presence of the PCB chairman in Ireland was very much appreciated and is a strong indicator of the excellent relationship between the two boards," MacNeice said. "Discussions were wide-ranging, and included exploring men's, women's and Wolves-level fixtures in the future. I'm very pleased that we were able to agree a men's tour next year - this will be yet another historic first, coming after the tour to Pakistan by our senior women in 2022." The ongoing series between Ireland and Pakistan is currently locked at one game apiece, with the third and final match of the series scheduled to be held in Dublin on Tuesday.
"The Pakistan squad have been excellent ambassadors for their country over the last week and have been very generous in their interactions with fans throughout their time in Ireland. We very much look forward to the deciding game in the series tomorrow and of course our meeting in the T20 World Cup next month," MacNeice added. "The cricketing friendship between Ireland and Pakistan runs very deep - indeed, the first meeting between the two sides was in 1962 here in Dublin, and Pakistan has been our opponent for both our inaugural women's and men's Test matches. "We look forward to this auspicious tour and thank Chairman Naqvi and the PCB for their ongoing friendship and support."
