What people love about southern india tours from bangalore.

if iam traviling to India again, i would definitely check their tour again, some of the places that we had to visit were not available or did not meet the standards for many reasons, Manohar was responsive and did his best to provide an alternative, he is flexible and a listener and willing to give his best so you can enjoy the Tour.
We had a very interesting tour with an excellent driver (Mr Anthony) who made us comfortable and very knowledgeable guides everywhere we visited. Our favourite Hotel was in Mysore although all were good and the visit to Halebidu was probably my highlight as the temples were magnificent with such elaborate carvings. Goa was not as relaxing as I imagined. We enjoyed the beach but didn't want to lay in the sun too long so other than shopping we didn't find it as attractive as we had expected. Overall all it was a very good introduction to a country we had not visited before. The arrangements for meeting the drivers and guides worked well for us despite us arriving and departing before/after the 11 day tour so thanks to Linda and other support staff this worked well.
Visit embarked on an incredible South India tour with Karnataka, Kerala, Pondicherry, and Tamilnadu. From the moment we arrived in Karnataka, I was in awe of the beauty of the land. We visited some of the most incredible temples that showcased the exquisite architecture of the region. We also explored the lush, green hills and forests of Kerala and took a boat ride to visit the tranquil backwaters. In Pondicherry, we were treated to a unique colonial experience that was a delight to explore. Finally, in Tamilnadu, we explored the ancient cities, beautiful temples, and vibrant culture. Overall, I had an amazing experience on this tour. The sights and sounds of South India left me mesmerized. The tour guides were knowledgeable and friendly and made sure that we had an enjoyable and hassle-free experience. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a unique and memorable experience.

Tips for Travelling on a Minibus

Minibus happens to be an excellent mode of transportation. Those of you seeking to travel by minibus can find it fun within the city for sightseeing and touring around the major attractions with friends and family. You might as well use a minibus for rent to travel to places near Bangalore. However, long journeys on minibuses are not so comfortable. Yet a great means for those people who want quick transport to the wedding venue, for a temple visit, and even to catch up for some celebration. They can choose to commute to those places as it fits a large group of people and get them to their destination at affordable pricing. Read more >>

Payana Museum: The Tyre-Shaped Building Near Mysore

We know what you are thinking right now. A tyre-shaped building? Well, the whole building is not in the shape of a tyre. But, the front facade of the Payana Museum resembles the tyre of an automobile. This exceptionally designed establishment located in Srirangpatna near Mysore is spread across 23 acres of land housing 63 vehicles maintained in pristine condition making it an excellent family day outing from Bangalore . The much-anticipated brainchild of Mr. D Veerendra Heggade was opened to the public on 1 April 2024. The museum is on quite an upswing since its doors were opened to the common man. If you are planning a weekend trip with kids , you can’t afford to miss out on this. Further in this blog post, we shall look into some of the most iconic cars that roamed the streets of Mysore and other parts of the country. And, quite interestingly, these are not just random vintage cars. Read more >>

I had always wanted to visit Shirdi, the holy town where Sai Baba lived and taught. I had heard many stories about his miracles and his unconditional love for all people. Finally, my dream came true when I took a Sri Balamuri Yatra tour to Shirdi. Overall, my experience visiting Shirdi was truly transformative. It was a deeply spiritual experience that I will cherish for the rest of my life. I would highly recommend a Sri Balamuri Yatra tour to Shirdi to anyone looking for a spiritual and enriching experience.

Bengaluru (Bangalore)

Cosmopolitan Bengaluru (formerly Bangalore) is one of India's most progressive and developed cities, blessed with a benevolent climate, a modern metro system, and a burgeoning drinking, dining and shopping scene. Its creature comforts are a godsend to the weary traveler who has done the hard yards off the beaten track, and it's a great city for mixing with locals in craft-beer joints or quirky independent cafes. Though there are no world-class sights, you'll find lovely parks and striking Victorian-era architecture.

10 Best Tourist Places to Visit in Bengaluru

india tours and travels bangalore

Pierre Ogeron/Getty Images

Bengaluru, formerly Bangalore , is the capital city of Karnataka in south India. The city has earned several names such as Silicon Valley of India, Pub Capital of India, Air Conditioned City, and City of Gardens. However, prior to the IT revolution, Bengaluru was known as Pensioners' Paradise.

Now, it's a wonderful blend of past and present. Although Bengaluru may not have as many iconic attractions as other major cities in India, it does have a great mix of history, architecture, culture, spirituality, and nature.

Bangalore Palace

jayk7/Getty Images

Built for Chamaraja Wadiyar X in 1887, the design of Bangalore Palace was inspired by England's Windsor Castle . As a result, this evocative palace has Tudor-style architecture with fortified towers, arches, green lawns, and elegant woodcarvings in its interiors.

The royal family still lives here today, and the palace is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on weekdays.

National Gallery of Modern Art

Nicolas Mirguet/Flickr/CC BY-NC 2.0

If you're an art lover, don't miss visiting the National Gallery of Modern Art on Palace Road. This gallery, which opened in 2009, is the third of its kind in India (the others are in Delhi and Mumbai).

It's housed in a Colonial mansion with a garden setting and has two interconnected wings, one of which features works from the early 18th century up until India's Independence while the other displays work from a large number of modern and contemporary artists.

The gallery is open Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m until 6:30 p.m. and on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. It's closed on Monday. There is a cafe on the premises as well, which is open fewer hours than the gallery itself.

Tipu Sultan's Palace and Fort

John Hoey/Flickr/CC BY 2.0

Situated inside the Bangalore Fort area, Tipu Sultan's Palace was originally built by Kempe Gowda using mud. Later, Hyder Ali started reconstruction in Indo-Islamic architecture. This was completed by his son, Tipu Sultan, in 1791.

The Hindu temple seen in the courtyard of the fort is the proof of Tipu Sultan's religious tolerance. The palace is open daily from 8.30 a.m. until 5.30 p.m. daily. Combine visiting it with nearby Krishna Rajendra Market.

Krishna Rajendra (KR) Market

TripSavvy / Ivey Redding

This vivid, traditional local market is an assault on the senses and a treat for photographers, and in the middle of it, you'll find Bengaluru's bustling flower market. The market also sells a variety of fresh produce, spices, and copper items.

Go there in the early morning to best experience the colors and crowds, when piles of fresh stock are being unloaded and sold.

Lalbagh Botanical Garden

John Hicks/Getty Images

This expansive garden started out as a private Mughal-style garden for the city's royal rulers. It was established in 1760 by Hyder Ali and later extended by his son Tipu Sultan.

It now covers 240 acres and derives its name from the red roses that bloom throughout the year there. The garden is said to have the most diverse species of plants in the world. Its focal point is a majestic glasshouse, built in 1889 to commemorate the visit of the Prince of Wales. It was designed along the lines of the Crystal Palace in London.

The garden is open daily from 6.00 a.m. to 7.00 p.m. throughout the year. It takes on a festive look during India's Independence Day and Republic Day celebrations, with a captivating show of over 200 varieties of flowers. The show also features an exhibition of hybrid vegetables.

Cubbon Park

Saurav Pandey Photography/Getty Images

Occupying a 300-acre area in Bangalore's business district, Cubbon Park is a popular place for walkers, joggers, nature lovers, and anyone who just wants to laze around. The park was named after the erstwhile Commissioner of Mysore, Sir Mark Cubbon. Many ornamental and flowering trees, both exotic and indigenous, can be found there. Kids will enjoy the special Bal Bhavan play area and aquarium inside the park.

Vidhana Soudha

First opened in 1956, Vidana Soudha is a landmark of Bengaluru and is located next to Cubbon Park. This enormous building is a massive example of neo-Dravidian architecture, complete with four domes on its four corners. It houses the Legislative Chamber of Karnataka Government and accommodates many other government departments. Unfortunately, it's not open to the public but is stunningly illuminated at night.

Attara Kacheri (High Court) and Surroundings

Frederic Soltan/Getty Images

This eye-catching red, two-storied building, built in 1867 under the reign of Tipu Sultan, has magnificent neoclassical architecture. It houses the High Court and many lower courts, and sits opposite Vidana Soudha at the entrance to Cubbon Park.

Close to the Court is the red, Gothic-style State Central Library building, with imposing stone and fluted pillars. Nearby, the highlight at the Government Museum is a collection of artifacts and stone carvings dating back to the 12th century, and excavated from places including Hampi . Adjacent to the Museum is Venkatappa Art Gallery, devoted to displaying famous paintings, plaster of Paris works and wooden sculptures of renowned artist Venkatappa (who painted for the royal family). Tickets for the museum also provide entry to the art gallery.

Ulsoor Lake

CamBuff/Getty Images

Picturesque Ulsoor Lake is spread over an area of 125 acres in the heart of the city, north of M.G. Road. It was constructed by Kempe Gowda II. It's open daily, except Wednesdays, from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m. Boating facilities are provided by the Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation. There's also a walking track around the lake.

Spiritual and Religious Places

Richard I'Anson/Getty Images

Bengaluru is the home of many of India's spiritual gurus, and the city has a rich religious culture. There are many diverse places of worship, including ashrams, mosques, and churches.

Consider seeing many of the city's attractions on a Bengaluru walking tour.   Alternatively, Viator in conjunction with Tripadvisor offers a comprehensive Private Full Day Bangalore (Bengaluru) City Tour and Experiential Culture Tour of Bangalore (Bengaluru) , bookable online.

It's also worth exploring the area around Bengaluru. There are many places of interest, whether you're after an escape from city life or are a visitor who wants to spend a day enjoying the abundant beauty of Mother Nature.

India Tours & Holidays

Travellers looking at a shrine carving with their guide in Delhi, India

There’s probably no other country on the planet that blazes its way into your memory like India.

Years later, you can still hear the morning calls of the chai wallahs; see smoke curling over the Ganges during a golden Varanasi sunrise , and smell the rich aromas of simmering curry. A lot of India tours rush from highlight to highlight, ticking them off in a blur of temples and tikka. But not us. Our India holidays are more about spotting Bengal tigers in Ranthambhore or Panna National Park, hanging with nomads in Jaisalmer, meeting the holy men of Pushkar, or hunting down the best street eats. This isn’t just the India you see on postcards. This is India as it is . Raw, bizarre and totally addictive.

Best time to visit india.

Due to India's size and topography, the climate varies from place to place but the best time to visit, generally speaking, is in the winter from December until early March. During the coolest months (December-January), temperatures can get quite cold in Delhi and in the north, especially at night. The whole country tends to get very hot from April onwards and most regions experience the summer from late May to around October. The summer offers hot and humid conditions, although this is considered one of the best times to visit Ladakh and the hills.

Culture and customs

India is one of the world’s oldest civilisations with a culture steeped in ancient beliefs and traditions. Religion also plays a massive role in everyday life with 80% of the population practising Hinduism while the remaining 20% is divided into Muslim (India has the world’s second-largest Muslim population), Christian, Sikhism and Buddhist populations.

At its core, India remains a deeply conservative nation; however, it has been touched by rapid modernization and Western influences in recent years. Some families still adhere to a traditional structure (especially in more rural areas) with generations living under the same roof, the eldest male at the head of the family and arranged marriages. But this is becoming less and less popular, particularly in larger cities, where Western ideas and societal shifts heavily influence the culture due to things like Bollywood films.

While some behavioural standards remain the same (public displays of affection are still taboo), it’s important to keep in mind that with more than one billion people speaking over 122 languages across 28 states and seven territories, it’s impossible to describe one unified culture for the entire nations and the character of India’s people can vary greatly from city to city.

Witness India's multi-faceted culture firsthand on a Delhi to Goa adventure - 15 days

Top places to visit in India

Surely there isn't a more iconic image of India than the Taj Mahal. It's spectacular and soul-stirring, but words simply aren't enough to describe the beauty of this immense mausoleum (even when it's packed with tourists). Best known as a monument to love and loss, the 17th-century building was built by Emperor Shah Jahan as a tomb for his second wife – a bold declaration of love, indeed!

Geography and environment

India shares land borders with   Bangladesh ,   China , Pakistan,   Nepal ,   Myanmar   and   Bhutan , and also has wide stretches of coastline along the Arabian Sea, Bay of Bengal and Indian Ocean. As the seventh largest country in the world, India is home to a variety of terrains - the Himalayas of the north, the deserts and plains of the west, the fertile waterways of the south and the hills and forests of the east. Development is occurring at a rapid pace, with India's large, sprawling cities consisting of everything from five star hotels to shanty towns, and with modern malls and cinemas sitting comfortably alongside bazaars and street food vendors. A trip through India will reveal a diverse range of landscapes, villages, cities and environments.

History and government

Early history.

Humans have inhabited India for as long as 75,000 years, with early civilisations flourishing as early as 3300 BC. Over the centuries, India both influenced and was influenced by other nations and kingdoms, with far-reaching trade, conquest and migration spreading the subcontinent's culture far and wide. Empires rose and fell over the centuries, with the wealthy Mughal Dynasty ruling most of India by 1600. At the same time, different European nations started showing an interest in India after being brought to the area for trade. The Portuguese, Dutch, British and French all had vested interests in India, with the British East India Company being given the rights to trade in India in 1617. The 1857 rebellion and War of Independence culminated in the decline of Mughal rule and were considered the first movements against the British Raj's heavy-handed rule of the country.

Recent history

By the 1920s, India's independence movement had grown considerably with Mohandas Gandhi leading mass movements based on passive resistance and non-cooperation against the British Raj. Although it took decades, India finally gained independence in 1947. More recently, India has seen dramatic societal changes mainly due to modernisation and globalisation. A new wave of prosperity has seen the rise of the middle class, with men and women entering into new work roles in telecommunications, manufacturing and business. India's large cities are dealing with the mass migration of rural citizens, who are moving to the city to seek better employment, education and opportunities for their children.

Festivals and events in India

Many of India’s biggest festivals are religious and follow either the Indian lunar calendar or the Islamic calendar. The dates may change each year, but the fervour of celebration never does. Some of the best and biggest festivals to keep an eye out for in India are:

Holi (Festival of Colour)

Take a whole lot of coloured powder and water, add thousands of happy people not afraid to get a little (or a lot) dirty, and you have Holi—a technicolour Hindu celebration that marks the beginning of spring and the triumph of good over evil. Celebrations take place across India in February or March.

Diwali (Festival of Lights)

India’s biggest festival – meaning ‘rows of lighted lamps’, people decorate their homes with colourful lights, candles are lit and firework displays take place across the country. The celebrations are particularly spectacular in Varanasi, where illuminated candles and earthen lamps are floated down the Ganges River as fireworks light up the sky. This five-day festival takes place every October or November.

Gujarat Kite Festival

Large, colourful and unusual kites flood the skies of Gujarat each January to commemorate the start of summer and beginning of harvest. Purchase your own at Patang Bazaar, a famous kite market, or just watch the others dance through the sky.

Mumbai Ganesh Festival

The birth of the elephant-headed god, Ganesh, is celebrated for 10-days each August or September in cities across India, but Mumbai takes it to another level. An incredible energy can be felt throughout the city as people pack the streets for a massive party and an elaborate statue of Ganesh is paraded around.

Pushkar Camel Fair

Thousands of camels (and their owners dressed in their finest garb) descend upon Rajasthan's Pushkar for the annual camel fair. Camels are traded and raced, acrobats and performers entertain crowds at a nearby fair, while finely dressed males and bejewelled females take the chance to let their hair down.

Due to the varying nature, availability and cost of health care around the world, travel insurance is very much an essential and necessary part of every journey.

Is tipping customary in India?

While travelling through India, on a tour or otherwise, it’s expected one would tip porters, drivers, restaurant staff and other service workers given the low wages they earn.

What is the internet access like in India?

Internet access is generally very good in India, with most cafes, restaurants and accommodations offering free wi-fi, even in the more rural areas. There is also good phone coverage for data use if you choose to purchase a local SIM card to stay connected for the duration of your India tour.

If you do wish to purchase a local SIM in India, make sure your phone has been unlocked before your tour begins. There are quite a number of carriers that are all very competitive, but Airtel is probably the best option for travellers. You’ll need to a copy of your passport and visa to pick up a SIM, and the process can sometimes be a hassle, but rates in India are very affordable given the competition.

Can I use my mobile while in India?

Yes, you’ll be able to use your mobile phone while on an India tour, but only if you have activated global roaming or purchased a local SIM card.

What are the toilets like in India?

Squat toilets are the most common toilets in India. Always carry your own toilet paper and soap or hand sanitizer, as they are usually not provided. Flushable, Western-style toilets can be found in up-market restaurants, some higher-end hotels and in some tourist areas.

Can I drink the tap water in India?

India is notorious among travellers for sickness – we’ve all heard horror stories about Delhi belly. We do not recommend ever drinking tap water in India, and travellers should avoid drinks with ice and foods that haven’t been cooked or peeled. Salad is off the menu for now – let your inner child rejoice!

Are credit cards widely accepted in India?

Credit cards are being accepted an increasing number of cafes, shops, restaurants and hotels in India, with Mastercard and Visa being the most common. That said, cash is still king, especially outside of cities like Kolkata, Delhi and Mumbai.

What is ATM access like in India?

ATMs are widespread across India in both cities and smaller towns. Visa, Mastercard, Cirrus and Maestro are the most commonly accepted cards, but of those Visa and Mastercard are more likely to have success. The daily withdrawal limit differs from bank to bank.

What is the weather like in India?

The weather in India varies from region to region, but it’s generally safe to say that December–February sees dry, cooler weather before the heat intensifies from March–May. June, July and August are the monsoon months, though the amount of rain differs across the country, while October, September and November see rainfall ease once more.

Is India safe for LGBTQIA+ travellers?

The majority of Indian society is still conservative, and while most travellers will have a welcoming and hospitable experience, discretion is still advised for LGBTQIA+ travellers, particularly in more remote towns and villages which may be more conservative. The same advice is also given to heterosexual couples (and couples of all other sexual orientations) as public displays of affection other than hugging and holding hands are generally frowned upon.

For more detailed and up-to-date advice, we recommend visiting  Equaldex  or  ILGA  before you travel.

Is India accessible for travellers with disabilities?

Intrepid is committed to making travel widely accessible, regardless of ability or disability. That’s why we do our best to help as many people see the world as possible, regardless of any physical or mental limitations they might have. We’re always happy to talk to travellers with disabilities and see if we can help guide them towards the most suitable itinerary for their needs and, where possible, make reasonable adjustments to our itineraries.

As a general rule, knowing some common words in the local language, carrying a written itinerary with you and taking to the streets in a group, rather than solo, can help make your travel experience the best it can be.

What to wear in India

What you decide to pack and wear in India will depend on where you are and what time of year it is. The weather across India usually follows the monsoon cycle, so it’s quite easy to plan what to pack when it comes to rain, but temperatures will vary quite a bit from the north to the south.

How do I stay safe and healthy while travelling?

Intrepid takes the health and safety of its travellers seriously and takes every measure to ensure that trips are safe, fun and enjoyable for everyone. We recommend that all travellers check with their government or national travel advisory organisation for the latest information before departure:

How will I be travelling around India?

Intrepid believes half the fun of experiencing a new country is getting there, and getting around once there! Where possible, Intrepid uses local transport options and traditional modes of transport - which usually carry less of an environmental impact, support small local operators and are heaps more fun.

Depending on which trip you're on while in India, you may find yourself travelling by Jeeps.

Safari through jungles and national parks aboard a jeep, which is ideal for conquering the difficult terrain and offers supreme wildlife viewing opportunities.

Cruising the waterways of India is a revealing, inspiring experience. Whether it’s the iconic Ganges or peaceful Kerala backwaters, seeing India from the water is a must.

Travelling by train is one of the great experiences of India. It's a system which looks like chaos, but it works - and well.

Use the efficient metro to get around the sights and suburbs of Delhi.

Zip around the big cities of India by auto rickshaw.

What kind of accommodation will I be staying in?

Travelling with Intrepid is a little bit different. We endeavour to provide travellers with an authentic experience to remember, so we try to keep accommodation as unique and traditional as possible.

When travelling with us in India you may find yourself staying in a homestay.

Make new friends, feast on authentic home cooking and receive kind hospitality while staying with friendly families in India.

With walks, wildlife spotting and adventure sports nearby, staying in a jungle resort is the perfect way to see another side of India.

From ex-royal palaces to historic hill stations and converted forts, India is full of heritage properties that have been turned into comfortable accommodation with an old-world touch.

What is it like travelling on a small group tour?

Whether you’re a seasoned traveller or you’re about to embark on your first trip, travelling can be as intimidating as it is exciting. That's the beauty of a small group tour. From handling the logistics and organising amazing cultural activities to local leaders who know each destination like the back of their hand (like which street has the best markets and where to get the most authentic food), travelling on a small group tour with Intrepid will give you unforgettable travel experiences without the hassle that comes with exploring a new place. Plus, you'll have ready-made friends to share the journey with. All you have to do is turn up with a healthy sense of adventure and we’ll take care of the rest.

Does my trip to India support The Intrepid Foundation?

Yes, all Intrepid trips support the Intrepid Foundation. In fact, we make a donation on behalf of every traveller. Trips to India directly support our foundation partner, Positive Change for Marine Life.

Positive Change for Marine Life

Positive Change for Marine Life nurtures ocean health with community-led conservation initiatives. Donations help them expand and implement vital programs in India that empower local communities, support sustainable fishing practices, restore marine habitats and drive policy change. Intrepid will double the impact by dollar-matching all post-trip donations made to The Intrepid Foundation.

Revealing The Best Way To Travel From Metro Cities To Thoothukudi

How to reach thoothukudi from delhi-mumbai-kolkata-bangalore.

Tuticorin, also known as Thoothukudi, is a bustling port city located in the South of Tamil Nadu State in India. It is famous for its pearl fisheries and salt pans where it attracts visitors with beautiful sandy beaches, rich heritage and spicy cuisine. When planning to visit this coastal paradise from major Indian cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata or Bangalore one can choose various modes of transport. Let us look at how each of these routes goes so that your trip to Tuticorin becomes easier.

1. By Flight

Delhi residents could bond for a flight from Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) to Tuticorin Airport (TCR). The flying time takes approximately three hours, making it possible for people who have less time to spend looking for a shorter way which has everything.

2. By Train

Railway enthusiasts can opt for trains departing from New Delhi Railway Station (NDLS) or Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station (NZM) connecting them to Tuticorin Railway Station (TN). Although the journey lasts 48-54 hours through picturesque landscapes on their way they would enjoy such a train travel experience.

The traveler can take an overnight bus trip to Tuticorin from Inter-State Bus Terminal (ISBT) in Delhi. Despite being longer than the previous option, talking about 54-60 hours, this mode saves one's money since it provides an opportunity of seeing India's diverse landscape first hand while still heading towards one's set destination.

From Mumbai

People living in Mumbai can board a plane at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (BOM) bound for Tuticorin Airport (TCR), which takes about two and a half hours. This fast transportation means that people wishing to reach Tuticorin as quickly as possible can do so without any difficulties.

Trains in connection with Tuticorin Railway Station (TN) are available for anyone leaving either from Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) or Mumbai Central Railway Station (BCT), and the journey lasts 36-42 hours. In spite of being longer, train travel allows tourists to relax and feel the atmosphere of such trips.

From Borivali or Thane buses run overnight to Tuticorin taking about 42-48 hours by bus. While the duration is long compared to other modes of transportation, it is affordable for those traveling on a tight budget.

From Kolkata

Kolkata residents may have chosen this option by flying from Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport (CCU) to Tuticorin Airport (TCR). The flight time amounts to three and half hours hence providing convenience and efficiency to those who want a short trip.

A passenger can board trains at Howrah Junction (HWH), which would take one directly to Tuticorin Railway Station (TN) in 54-60 hours' time. Notwithstanding the fact that traveling by rail takes much longer, it helps passengers indulge in recollections of rail adventures.

Overnight buses from Esplanade or Salt Lake in Kolkata are available for travelers whose journey will last for around 60-66 hours before they reach their destination at Tuticorin. Though quite an endurance test, this mode still serves as a cheap way of getting there while at the same time offering them an opportunity to see different landscapes across India.

From Bangalore

Bangalore natives could choose for a flight from Kempegowda International Airport (BLR) to Tuticorin Airport (TCR), and it would take them about 1.5 hours. This mode of transport is suitable for those who are interested in time saving.

Trains which leave Krantivira Sangolli Rayanna Railway Station (SBC) have trains ending at Tuticorin Railway Station (TN) that usually takes about 12-14 hours. Train travel is a pleasant way to move from one place to another.

It is possible to take an overnight bus from Bangalore Kempegowda Bus Station (Majestic) or Shantinagar Bus Station to Tuticorin with the trip lasting for 14-16 hours. Although it requires more time, traveling by bus is cheaper and easier.

If you want to reach Tuticorin from major Indian cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Bangalore, the speed of air travel, nostalgia of train journeys or affordability of bus travel will suit anyone in this respect. Each mode of transportation provides its own unique benefits which make it possible for voyagers to undertake a memorable trip through the vibrant culture and picturesque sceneries of Tuticorin.
