I’ve booked my Disney accommodation in a package with a 10-day park hopper via disney.com

I’ve since seen a lot about undercover tourist, and it appears a lot of people purchase from there to save money.

I was going to cancel my package and switch to room-rate only until I saw several negative reviews from people receiving expired tickets etc which has me second-guessing them.

Can anyone give me insight if its actually reliable and legit to be buying tickets off this site?

Do you buy your tickets via Disney direct or through Undercover Tourist?

' class=

Used them many times myself, and NEVER had any problem with tickets from them.

I would only buy from Disney directly if tickets I needed were for 3 days or less as sometimes U.T. is more expensive on those short duration ones, but for long-stay tickets, U. T. usually has better prices.

Thanks Kat,

I've just found an older thread on here and everyone who answered said it was safe, so I'm feeling more confident to go ahead with it now.

I think the expired ticket complaints were for universal tickets, which we will be going for a day - might just buy those directly as we likely won't save much for a one day ticket.

We always use Undercover Tourist, the most recent time was May this year.

They are very good and the tickets always arrive within a few days. You can sometimes get good deals such as a 2 day Park to Park ticket for Universal and IOA with a free third day.

I only use Undercover Tourist or the Disney websites to purchase my tickets and yes UT is very reliable.

is undercover tourist

I just don't believe that Undercover Tourist supplied expired tickets, they are reputable.

As the others have said they are reliable. We've used them a few times and never had any problems.

"I saw several negative reviews from people receiving expired tickets etc "

These reviews can be (and are very likely IMO) fake.

UCT has an exemplary record - to be fair so do a few other 3rd party resellers. In all the years I've used this forum, that handful of decent resellers have rarely, if ever, had negative stories posted.

Thanks everyone, I agree Mchaggis, it sounds like they are most probably fake reviews. Which is unfortunate for UT. If I hadn't asked on here, I would have just stayed with my original tickets and paid the higher price.

I'll go ahead and buy all my tickets through UT from now on :)

' class=

Undercover Tourist is very safe and reliable. I don't believe they sold expired tickets. There is one reason to buy direct from Disney though. We bought tix through Disney for my parents who were visiting and lost them before we used them. I was able to go to the guest services booth outside the park, and they were reissued in a second. They said if we'd bought the tix through a 3rd party they wouldn't be able to reissue them.So you should probably save the money and buy from UT and just not lose them.

Just super nervous to buy...sounds too good to be true.

Undercover Tourist is a popular website for purchasing theme park tickets at a discount. If you’ve planned a trip to Walt Disney World , Universal Studios, or SeaWorld, you’ve probably come across Undercover Tourist. But did you also know you can use this website to book hotels and rental cars, too?

In this post, we’ll go over what you need to know to use Undercover Tourist to find the best prices on amusement park tickets, hotels, and rental cars. Plus, we’ll go over some of the popular features of the site like the Crowd Calendar.

Undercover Tourist is a website that that’s been around since 2000 and is known for offering discounted tickets to theme parks across the U.S. The site is an authorized seller of tickets for all the major theme parks you know and love:

  • Walt Disney World Resort in Florida
  • Disneyland in California
  • Universal Orlando Resort
  • Universal Studios Hollywood
  • SeaWorld Orlando
  • SeaWorld San Diego
  • LEGOLAND Florida Resort
  • LEGOLAND California Resort

Undercover Tourist also has discounted tickets to non-theme park attractions like Ripley’s Believe It or Not, ski resorts, zoos, movie theaters, and lots more! Plus, it acts as an online travel agency for hotels and car rentals.

While Undercover Tourist offers a ton of ticket, hotel, and car options, the site is limited in the number of destinations it covers. You’ll only find options in the following cities:

  • Breckenridge, CO
  • Chicago, IL
  • Los Angeles, CA
  • New York City, NY
  • Orlando, FL
  • Park City, Utah
  • San Antonio, Texas
  • San Diego, CA
  • San Francisco, CA
  • Washington, D.C.

Options in Seattle, London, and Paris are coming soon.

Bottom Line: Undercover Tourist is a resource for discounted tickets to theme parks and other attractions in select cities across the U.S. It’s best known for offering discounted tickets to Walt Disney World and Universal Studios theme parks.  The site also acts as an online travel agency for hotel reservations and car rentals in these select cities.

Let’s review the steps to using Undercover Tourist to purchase discounted tickets.

You can start your search for discounted tickets from many different places on the home page. Click on Discount Tickets in the top menu bar, click on a logo underneath the menu bar, or click on any of the featured tickets in the middle of your screen to start your search.

Finding discounted tickets on Undercover Tourist

After choosing your destination, you’ll be able to see lots of information about your chosen theme park, including maps, hotels, tips, and more. Scroll down a bit to find the availability calendar and ticket options.

Disney tickets through Undercover Tourist

The tickets you buy through Undercover Tourist are exactly the same as if you purchased them directly from the park, except you’ll probably save some money.

After choosing the type and number of tickets you need, you’ll be able to see your final price and choose your travel dates. The price you see is what you’ll pay — taxes are included and shipping is free!

Paper Tickets vs. E-Tickets

You may be inclined to have your tickets emailed to you, but there are some risks. E-tickets are non-refundable, and you’ll need to stop at Will Call at the gate to pick up your physical tickets. For Disney tickets, if you have a MagicBand, you can add the e-tickets to your account and proceed directly to the gate, but they’ll still be non-refundable.

Instead, it may be a better idea to have the physical tickets mailed to you. This option is also free and the tickets will be eligible for a refund. Plus, you’ll be able to go straight to the gate at the park which can be a huge timesaver.

Paper vs emailed tickets from Undercover Tourist

Refundable Tickets

Many tickets sold on Undercover Tourist are refundable within 90 days of purchase. To get a refundable ticket, you’ll need to have tickets mailed to you vs. opting for email delivery. Refundable tickets will be clearly marked. Be sure to confirm the return policy for your specific tickets before completing your purchase.

If you need to return tickets that you purchased, you’ll be charged a 5% fee to cover the return.

Hot Tip: E-tickets are non-refundable. To get a ticket that is eligible for a refund, you’ll need to select the Mailed To Your Door  option.

Travel Insurance

Before finalizing your purchase, you’ll be prompted to add travel insurance. Before choosing whether or not to add insurance to your purchase, you’ll want to learn about all of your options.

Undercover Tourist offers insurance through Allianz Global Assistance , a popular travel insurance company. However, the policy offered by Undercover Tourist covers lots of areas that may already be covered through your credit card including trip cancellation and interruption , lost or delayed baggage, and travel accident insurance, so it may not be needed.

If you purchase tickets that are eligible for a refund, insurance is probably not necessary. If you’re also booking a hotel or rental car, take a minute to determine if you have a credit card with rental car insurance  before purchasing a separate policy.

Undercover Tourist Crowd Calendar

The Undercover Tourist Crowd Calendar is a popular feature on the site that helps you identify the least and most crowded times to visit a specific park.

To access the Crowd Calendar, just click on Crowd Calendar in the top menu bar of the website.

How to find the Crowd Calendar on Undercover Tourist

You’ll be able to look at specifics for a handful of the most popular destinations:

  • Discovery Cove
  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park
  • Disney’s Hollywood Studios
  • Magic Kingdom Park
  • Universal’s Islands of Adventure
  • Universal Studios Florida
  • Universal’s Volcano Bay

Undercover Tourist Crowd Calendar

Hot Tip: The Undercover Tourist Crowd Calendar is a color-coded chart that helps you predict which parks will be more or less crowded on a specific day.

Undercover Tourist mobile app

If you’re headed to Orlando, be sure to download the Undercover Tourist Orlando Planning App, free for iOS . This handy app will take the stress out of trying to navigate the parks on your own with features like an interactive map, up-to-date park information, park plans, and estimated wait times.

The app covers Walt Disney World Resort, Universal Orlando, and SeaWorld Orlando.

The Frog Guarantee and Frog Family Promise

The Frog Guarantee and Frog Family Promise are not price guarantees, rather they’re guarantees of quality and customer service.

The Frog Guarantee

When purchasing amusement park tickets through Undercover Tourist you’ll always receive:

  • Authentic tickets from an authorized seller
  • Free standard shipping
  • No hidden fees
  • 90-day refund/return policy (not applicable to e-tickets)
  • RFID enabled and Genie+ eligible Disney tickets
  • Next-day pickup or delivery availability

Price Comparisons

So, let’s answer the question you really want to know, “Can Undercover Tourist save me money?”

To do this, we priced out some ticket options for 1 adult on Undercover Tourist and compared those to what we could get directly from the park’s website.

In every single example we priced out, Undercover Tourist was the cheapest option! If you’re looking for discounted tickets to Walt Disney World and other popular theme parks, you’ll probably save money by using Undercover Tourist.

Hot Tip: You can NOT use Disney gift cards to pay for tickets through Undercover Tourist. So, if you’ve been collecting gift cards from stores with high points bonuses (like grocery stores ), you’ll need to purchase your tickets directly through the park.

Purchasing tickets to an amusement park can be expensive. So, of course, you’ll want to make sure you’re earning as many points as possible on your purchase.

Amusement park tickets usually code as “entertainment,” so if you’re purchasing them directly, you’ll want to use a credit card that offers bonus categories on entertainment purchases . The Citi Premier ® Card earns 2 points per dollar spent on entertainment purchases, including tickets to amusement parks.

However, purchases from Undercover Tourist code as “travel” which opens up the door to earn points on a variety of different credit cards. These credit cards all earn bonus points on the travel category, which will include amusement park tickets purchased from Undercover Tourist.

Earn 3x points on travel purchases with these credit cards:

  • Ink Business Preferred ® Credit Card
  • Chase Sapphire Reserve ®
  • Citi Premier card

Earn 2x points on travel purchases with these credit cards:

  • Chase Sapphire Preferred ® card
  • Capital One ® Venture ® Rewards card

Hot Tip: If you have an American Express card, check to see if Amex Offers has any current money-back offers from Undercover Tourist.

While Undercover Tourist is known as the place to buy theme park tickets, the site also acts as an online travel agency for booking hotels.

To get started, click on Hotels in the top menu bar. Then select your destination from the drop-down box and enter the number of travelers and your travel dates.

Your search results will be displayed in a format similar to other hotel booking websites that you may be familiar with (like Expedia , Priceline , Hotels.com , etc). Filtering options will be available on the left side of your screen and sorting options are located on the upper right-hand side, above the results.

Undercover Tourist Hotels filtering and sorting

Unlike with tickets on Undercover Tourist, the prices you see initially don’t include tax. You’ll have to click through to the payment page to see the full price with taxes and fees included.

Cancellation policies will vary by the hotel but will be clearly displayed once you add an item to your cart.

Undercover Tourist Hotel cancellation policy

Hot Tip: If you’re traveling to Florida to enjoy the theme parks, check out these places to stay in Orlando for your Disney vacation!

Let’s take a look at a couple of examples to see if booking a hotel through Undercover Tourist can save you money. For both of these examples, we priced out a week-long stay for 2 adults and 1 child. Prices include taxes and fees and are for the hotel stay only (tickets are not included).

The results are typical of most price comparisons we do — they aren’t consistent! Undercover Tourist had the best price for the first option, but Trivago came out with the best price in the second example. The bottom line is that you can definitely save money by using Undercover Tourist for your hotel stay, but not always.

The car rental search functionality on the Undercover Tourist website is pretty limited. You’ll only be able to search for car rentals at Orlando International Airport (MCO) from only 5 car rental companies — Alamo, Avis , Budget , Enterprise , and National .

Undercover Tourist Car Rental

We did a couple of searches to find out if booking your Orlando car rental through Undercover Tourist could save you money. We searched for the cheapest price for a week-long rental on 2 different dates.

In both of these examples, Undercover Tourist came out as the second most expensive option. Interestingly, Momondo  had the lowest price and Priceline had the highest price in both examples.

Undercover Tourist may be a great place to purchase theme park tickets, but it’s not a great option when you’re searching for a rental car.

Undercover Tourist is a popular website for purchasing theme park tickets on the cheap. It also acts as an online travel agency for hotels and car rentals, but only in select cities.

It’s a great site to use to save some money on theme park tickets, but the savings on hotels and cars aren’t as consistent.

Before you head to Disney, check out some of our helpful guides including re-opening plans , packing lists , and even how to visit virtually .

The information regarding the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card was independently collected by Upgraded Points and not provided nor reviewed by the issuer. The information regarding the Citi Premier ® Card has expired and the card is no longer open to applicants.

Are you looking for Undercover Tourist reviews for your next family trip? Maybe you’re considering purchasing theme park tickets or a hotel stay through Undercover Tourist, but you’re wondering if the prices are too good to be true. Rest assured that Undercover Tourist is a trusted company used by tons of families each year, including my own family.

They offer amazing customer service and great deals on everything you need for your next vacation. So, if you are searching for a way to save money on theme park tickets, then Undercover Tourist is the place to go! My family and I have used this reputable company on multiple Disney trips as they offer deep discounts on tickets to theme parks in both California and Florida.

You can use Undercover Tourist to purchase tickets for parks like Disney World, Universal, Disneyland, Sea World, and Lego Land. They also offer great deals on hotel room prices (including Walt Disney World resort hotels) and on rental cars. To make planning your family vacation easier, Undercover Tourist even provides special features like Disney World crowd calendars along with other helpful online tools.

So, if you’re considering using this super helpful website for your next trip, continue reading our full Undercover Tourist review below. We will discuss just how easy it is to use Undercover Tourist to help plan your next theme park vacation AND get a great deal on tickets!

How It Works

Before planning a family vacation to Walt Disney World (or other theme parks), you may be wondering if you can get a discount on the official (aka pricey) ticket prices. Over the years, I have found the Undercover Tourist website to be the easiest way to score the best deals on park tickets. It’s my family’s go-to website for planning any Disney World vacation because it helps make trip planning a breeze.

Cinderella's castle at Walt Disney World

No matter what you’re needing for your trip, Undercover Tourist will have a great deal to help make your trip a little more budget friendly. They offer the best deals on tickets to SeaWorld Orlando, Universal Studios, and other theme parks and attractions. You can even score big ticket discounts on Walt Disney World park tickets, including park hopper tickets, sports tickets, and water park ticket options.

As you shop on the official Undercover Tourist website, you will notice that these discounts get bigger and bigger with the number of days you add on to your ticket package. In other words, you won’t see a huge price difference in Disney tickets if you are just purchasing one day passes. However, you will find deep discounts the more days you add on to your package. All in all, you can save over $80 per ticket at Walt Disney World, which really adds up if you are traveling with multiple family members!

Undercover Tourist banner

Just use the ticket calendar to determine if the Disney park passes are available. If your desired dates and parks are available, follow the prompts to choose the ticket options you want. After purchasing your Disney park passes, you can easily link them in your My Disney Experience account . Once you link your discounted tickets, they’ll show up in your account just as if you had bought them from Disney’s official site. It’s that easy!

Why We Use Undercover Tourist

In addition to the incredible savings that Undercover Tourist provides, my family and I also use them for their customer service. Not only is Undercover Tourist a legit website, but they are also a trusted name in the theme park industry. Did you know that the Undercover Tourist brand is officially an authorized Walt Disney World ticket seller ?

Disney's Animal Kingdom Tree of Life

This means they are recognized for their honest dependability. When going through wholesale ticket providers for the first time, it can sometimes feel intimidating. But, Undercover Tourist is a discount ticket seller that provides real tickets with no hidden fees. Plus, shipping and tax are included in the price you pay.

At the time of this post, Undercover Tourist is even offering a full refund policy for Disney World tickets! Since I personally do not have experience requesting a refund on tickets from Undercover Tourist, I cannot speak about this process. However, my family and I did have to cancel hotel reservations with Undercover Tourist a few trips ago.

The process of requesting a refund was so easy, and they provided great customer service. I just called the Undercover Tourist contact number and immediately spoke with a customer service agent who handled my cancellation. During the phone call, I spoke with a super friendly and knowledgeable representative without having to wait through the automated calling you so often have to sit through when contacting companies.

Booking Hotels through Undercover Tourist

Undercover Tourist has many different tools and features that make it easy to plan your next Disney trip. This website can be very helpful when trying to save money on tickets, car rentals, and hotel rooms. If you are planning a hotel stay at Disney, we recommend comparing the prices on the official WDW website with those on the Undercover Tourist site.

monorail at Disney World

Although Undercover Tourist does not always have the cheaper rate, they often do! Plus, you can sometimes find availability for rooms you want that are sold out on the official Disney website. We always make sure to price out the rooms on both websites before booking since you can often save money going through Undercover Tourist.

On a side note, if you’re looking to stay at a deluxe hotel, we recommend looking into renting DVC points first. This is often the way to save the most money on a hotel room at Disney. However, if you aren’t able to secure a DVC room OR if you’re looking for a value/moderate resort, Undercover Tourist is often the way to go!

Final Review of Undercover Tourist

Planning a Walt Disney World vacation can often feel daunting and expensive. But, with all of the amazing resources and discounts available through Undercover Tourist, there is no need to worry. You can snag some awesome deals on WDW tickets, hotels, AND car rentals all while keeping peace of mind in knowing that you are using a legitimate authorized Disney ticket seller.

Disney’s Polynesian Resort (Honest Review)

Hi Shari! I am thinking of using Undercover Tourist for our next Disney vacation. Do they mail you a physical ticket? If the ticket is emailed, how do you use it to enter the parks? Do you have to print it out or do you go somewhere at Disney to convert the printed page to an actual ticket? Just wondering about the logistics now that you need a reservation for the parks…Thanks for the help!

Thanks so much for reaching out. I believe that Undercover Tourist will mail you physical tickets if you want them, but I usually choose the email option. Either way, your physical or digital tickets will have a code on them. You just log into your WDW account and link the Undercover Tourist tickets using the code. This is a similar process to reserving a Disney hotel through Undercover Tourist. They will give you a confirmation number/code that you type into your Disney account, and it links your reservation.

Once you are at Disney, your linked tickets and reservations are connected to your Magic Bands and the My Disney Experience App. So, to enter a theme park, you will swipe your Magic Band or the Disney App to get in.

Just make sure that you make your park reservation after you link your Undercover Tourist tickets into your Disney account. I hope I explained that okay. It’s actually REALLY easy to do. When you log into your Disney account, it basically prompts you each step of the way. Hope you have a great time at Disney!!

Is Undercover Tourist Legit? A Comprehensive Review

In the digital age, sourcing travel deals online has become second nature for many. Amid the plethora of platforms, Undercover Tourist has garnered attention, leading many to question, Is Undercover Tourist legit? That Undercover Tourist has managed such affiliations speaks volumes of its authenticity.

Comparisons: Undercover Tourist vs. Other Platforms

Navigating the maze of online ticketing and travel platforms can be daunting for even the most seasoned travelers. While Undercover Tourist has firmly established itself as a trusted entity, how does it fare when juxtaposed against its competitors? Let’s embark on a comparative analysis to elucidate the distinguishing features and potential areas of improvement.

1. Range of Services Offered

While Undercover Tourist shines with its extensive offerings for theme parks, including Disney World, Universal Studios, and SeaWorld, some other platforms broaden their horizons further. Platforms like Expedia or Kayak delve deep into flights, diverse hotel chains, and global attractions. However, this extensive range sometimes comes at the cost of specialized deals and services that a dedicated platform like Undercover Tourist offers.

2. Price Points

The primary allure of Undercover Tourist is its promise of genuine discounts. In comparison to direct ticket purchases or even some competitors, it often delivers substantial savings. Other platforms like TicketsAtWork or Orlando Fun Tickets also promise discounts, but the depth and range of savings, especially for bulk purchases or bundled deals, often see Undercover Tourist emerge with an edge.

3. User Experience

A direct comparison of user interfaces across platforms underscores the user-centric design of Undercover Tourist. While platforms like TripAdvisor might have a broader base of reviews and user-generated content, the streamlined navigation and planning tools of Undercover Tourist, such as crowd calendars and wait-time predictors, provide an invaluable edge for theme park enthusiasts.

4. Authenticity and Trustworthiness

The online travel world is awash with platforms that might not always provide genuine tickets. Undercover Tourist’s longstanding partnerships with major theme parks ensure the authenticity of every ticket sold. While platforms like StubHub have occasionally faced criticism for counterfeit tickets, Undercover Tourist’s track record remains largely unblemished.

5. Specialized Features

The niche focus of Undercover Tourist on theme parks means it can offer tools and insights that more generalized platforms can’t match. While websites like Priceline might give last-minute hotel deals, they don’t offer insights into theme park peak times, specialized tours, or the best days to visit specific attractions.

6. Customer Service

A common grievance with large, multifaceted platforms is their sometimes impersonal or slow customer service. Undercover Tourist, with its more specialized approach, has garnered praise for its prompt and helpful customer service. Though larger platforms like Booking.com might have 24/7 helplines, the tailored assistance and expertise provided by Undercover Tourist’s team are often highlighted by its user base.

7. Sustainability and Eco-Friendly Initiatives

While Undercover Tourist has shown an inclination towards promoting sustainable travel, some platforms have taken this a step further. Platforms like Responsible Travel or BookDifferent offer eco-friendly hotel options and carbon-neutral travel packages, setting a benchmark in sustainable tourism.

Planning Made Easy: Tools and Resources by Undercover Tourist

Planning Made Easy - Tools and Resources by Undercover Tourist

Undercover Tourist transcends being a mere ticket-selling platform. Its suite of trip planning resources, including crowd calendars and wait time apps, empowers travelers to optimize their visits. Users often find these tools indispensable, maximizing both their savings and enjoyment.

Potential Criticisms and Areas of Improvement

While Undercover Tourist has carved a niche for itself in the competitive travel industry and earned accolades for its offerings, no platform is without its shortcomings. Here’s a breakdown of potential criticisms and areas where Undercover Tourist could further enhance its user experience and services:

1. Limited Geographic Focus

Though Undercover Tourist provides extensive deals for major U.S. attractions, especially in Florida and California, its geographic reach could be expanded. Diversifying to include international theme parks and attractions could cater to a broader audience.

2. Not a One-Stop Shop

While specializing in theme park tickets is Undercover Tourist’s strength, it’s also a limitation. Expanding into flights or more comprehensive vacation packages could make it a one-stop solution for many travelers.

3. Website User Experience

Though the platform is relatively user-friendly, there’s always room for improvement. Enhanced search functions, more filtering options, and a more intuitive design could enhance the overall browsing and booking experience.

4. Mobile App Enhancements

While the mobile app offers numerous planning tools, its interface could be streamlined. Incorporating features like virtual ticket storing, augmented reality maps, or real-time language translation could make it indispensable for travelers.

5. Sustainability Initiatives

Given the increasing global emphasis on sustainable tourism, Undercover Tourist could further develop eco-friendly partnerships, promote green accommodations, or even offer carbon offset options for its travel packages.

6. Loyalty Programs

Introducing a loyalty or rewards program could incentivize repeat users. Special discounts, early access to deals, or exclusive perks could cater to frequent travelers and build a more loyal customer base.

7. Integration with Newer Attractions

As new attractions emerge, especially in the rapidly-evolving world of theme parks, quicker integration of these into their ticket offerings would ensure Undercover Tourist remains at the forefront of ticket providers.

8. Price Match Guarantee

While Undercover Tourist often provides competitive prices, introducing a price match guarantee could bolster confidence in users that they’re always getting the best deal.

9. Enhanced Customer Support

Though their customer service is generally praised, offering features like live chat support or virtual assistance could expedite user queries and enhance overall satisfaction.

10. More Engaging Content

While the platform offers basic information about attractions, integrating more engaging content such as video walkthroughs, virtual tours, or interactive maps could aid users in their decision-making process.

Undercover Tourist sometimes offers additional free days or perks with certain tickets. Be on the lookout for these bonuses as they can add extra value to your purchase.

8. Read Reviews and User Experiences

Undercover Tourist includes user reviews for many attractions and hotels. These firsthand accounts can provide invaluable insights and tips that aren’t immediately obvious.

9. Understand the Refund and Exchange Policy

While Undercover Tourist has a commendable approach to customer service, it’s always wise to familiarize yourself with their refund and exchange policies, especially given the sometimes significant investment in theme park tickets.

10. Engage with Customer Service

Tickets not received - no customer service

It has now been a week since order confirmation. Still no sign of tickets. Have left 4 messages and 2 e-mails. Received 1 call back promising to resolve. That was now 4 days ago. Still not resolved, still no tickets. Really bad customer service. Now trying to cancel my order. Will probably take 2 weeks. Stay away and order through Disney themselves instead

We strive to provide our guests the best customer service around and if you ever have any more questions, please let us know. Our service team has been providing our guests the best service in the industry and we are there for all of our guests in this 2024 season.

Horrible. Processed my transaction without security clearance. I had decided to purchase elsewhere and never completed the purchase but an hour later I got an email confirming the purchase that I never completed. I called immediately and was told after some argument and them talking to their supervisor that the refund was approved. Then a week went by with no refund so I contacted them again. They said they had to put in the request again and this time it was denied. I told them it had already been approved and to go back and listen to the first call. They said they did and it was never approved (I 100% know it was) so I asked forna copy of the recording but of course they said they can't give that to me. Because they lied and it was approved. Regardless, allowing the charge to go through in the first place without security clearance is fraud!

We apologize you had issues with your order in the past. If this issue is not resolved, please contact us or provide us a proper order number to look into this.

Undercover Tourist not much use if you live in the UK

Tried to book tickets for discovery cove online but it only offers the prices for florida residents. Not much good if you are based in the UK. Only went to the site because it had some decent reviews but will go elsewhere

Date of experience : June 05, 2023

We apologize but we did not make up the offer for Florida residents to get a discount. We strive to provide our guests the best possible deals but if the park runs a special for residents it will be on their terms on what we sell for them.

The worst experience 0 star they sold…

Movie/Theater Tickets—-

Movie/Theater Tickets—- DO NOT PURCHASE through this platform for Cinemark or any other theater with reserve seating. You have to input each barcode and pin separately for each and every person. I would think that one code would satisfy the entire family/group but NO. In addition, you will end up paying the same amount due to redeeming tickets online with merchant (Cinemark). You will then be required to pay additional costs to select seats online. This is a scam and deceptive practice. If you don’t reserve online you won’t have a seat upon arrival. Just buy directly through merchants and not this platform. They will not refund you the money. Poor customer service and unprofessional staff. First time customer, very dissatisfied and terrible experience.

Fine until you need help

The problem with undercovertourist is their inability to help when there's a problem. I wanted to change the date of a Universal ticket. Universal customer service was like, "sure, no problem, we do that all the time" until they found out that we had purchased through a travel agent (Undercover Tourist), and then they said we needed to talk to the travel agent. So I called Undercover Tourist. That person was no help: He said he could issue us new tickets for the date we wanted, and then try to cancel the existing ones, but he wasn't sure if the cancellation would succeed. I'm like I need to know that before we buy the new tickets, and he was like, no, you need to buy first and find out in about 24 hours if you paid double. I asked to talk to a supervisor. He said someone would call me in a couple hours. Nobody did. If I had bought direct through Universal, they could have helped no problem.

Date of experience : November 20, 2023

As a 3rd party, these tickets come directly from the park. They are considered a final sale and as the 3rd party, we can see if they can be canceled from the system. I they are not able to be refunded we would have to reach out to the park to see if they which is not always a guarantee depending on terms of sale and dates of cancellation. We are checking on the status of this matter to see what happened.

We have bought tickets from them…

We have bought tickets from them multiple times over the years. We have never had one issue with them. We even cancelled tickets once and got a refund almost immediately. We have never had an issue with being able to use our tickets at any of the parks. We will definitely continue to use them.

I made a mistake in our hotel dates

I made a mistake in our hotel dates - needed to add a day - which I realized immediately and contacted them. They said they have to cancel the reservation. I’d make a new one, but not until I’m sure I’m getting my refund for the first one … I gave them 2 because the customer service is slow.

Date of experience : March 31, 2023

We apologize service was slow last year. We have improved our customer service team and hope things get better for you. If this issue was not taken care of, please provide us an order number and we will investigate this.

Amazing customer service

I can not recommend undercover tourist enough. The customer service has been amazing and they were so helpful when we had to cancel our tickets after having to cancel our trip for the 2nd time this year. I bought the tickets a year ago and they still refunded the money due to our circumstances changing, meaning we couldn’t rebook again for next year. I will always use undercover tourist in the future for any theme park tickets that we need.

I came to write another negative review…

I came to write another negative review about their ‘verification policy’ but see many beat me to it. DO NOT SHOP using undercover tourist. They are a scam and a huge waste of time. They won’t honour the price they quote you and it’ll end up costing you more plus a huge headache. Never again.

Waste of time!!!

They fail to tell you about a verification process. This is the headline in their email “ Due to recent events in the news, we are taking extra precautions to protect our customers from fraud.” What recent events? The pandemic, war in Ukraine? Ive entered the exact amounts as shown on my card statement, both in £ and $, none are accepted. Now I need to contact support. What a waste of time. I’ll pay the extra $4 and buy the tickets direct. Don’t waste your time.

Poor and unexpected online purchasing process

Undercover tourist cancelled our tickets on a sunday afternoon because we hadn't 'verified' (who in the year 2021 needs verification for an online purchase of $300???) they sent a single email the day before, and did not answer calls that I made frantically 10 minutes before they were supposed to close, but i guess even their employees aren't paying attention to things on the weekend, because they had knocked off early and never answered. When they returned my message, it was too late and i would have to go back and start the whole process over again. Not worth the $10 in savings.

Never Again

This site is great to use for savings. However, that is if everything goes right. When Disney was closed last year due to a hurricane, it was a nightmare. Disney will not refund you since tickets were purchased through this site. Only Undercover Tourist can refund you the money. Well, they kept telling us Disney had to issue the refund. They knowingly lied. Yes, we did eventually get our money back but it took months. And only after a dozen emails and phone calls. I will never purchase Disney tickets from anyone but Disney after that mess.

Date of experience : October 01, 2022

We apologize you had issues with a refund last year due to the hurricane. Please provide us the order details and we can always investigate this matter.

Other than the website being a little…

Other than the website being a little slow, it was a very good experience. I got a “Gateway error” message but then also got the e-tickets in email at the same time, so I called and spoke to verify I didn’t get duped and everything was in order. I spoke to Elaine was very lovely and super helpful! I will write a review once we use the tickets too. Thank you!

We appreciate the awesome feedback and glad your issue was resolved properly last year. Thank you.

Just not worth the hassle for the…

Just not worth the hassle for the menial savings made. Book Disney tickets direct and don’t go through these jokers. Don’t think you’ve successfully made a purchase... you haven’t. You’ll have to wait for email after email asking you to jump through hoop after hoop - they even get you to call your bank to verify a a random pending transaction amount which they randomly pick and get you to translate that into dollars and then, if your conversion rate isn’t the same as yours they won’t accept your purchase. Yes - it is as crazy and confusing as it sounds. Bloody bonkers in this day and age.

Like others, under $3.00 game

Like others, I purchased tix, waited, next day got the text to check you cc acct for a small charge and text that amt back to them. I check 5x in 24 hrs w/ no pending transaction. I even called my cc company and they saw nothing. My cc company said they have never heard of this before for any legit purchase. I was actually made contact w/ a rep from Undercovertourist via email with in 15 mins. I cancelled! What year is it? I have purchased thousands of things online from probably 100 merchants and never had this issue. I will be monitoring my cc acct closely in the near future. Something smells!!!!

beware credit card fee

So far ok. Bought universal and Disney tickets. They responded to my query very quickly. However!!!! I bought using a UK credit cards and was charged a huge transaction fee- this offset the savings on the tickets . For that reason - not worth it for me

Date of experience : July 06, 2023

We apologize you were charge international fees. This is something you would need to speak to your banking institution or card company about as those fees are not implied by us.

Decent savings, terrible customer service experience

The site was easy to use and the savings were great. But the customer service was terrible. We had tickets to Universal Studios and had to switch the day because of Hurricane Hilary. I spoke to Universal, and all they needed Undercover Tourist to do was call them and authorize the date change. Twice, I called Undercover Tourist to explain what had to happen. Twice, the agents repeated the necessary steps back to me, and then somehow put the call through to Univeral Studios and connected me directly instead of taking the necessary steps to authorize the transfer. Luckily, a rep at Universal Studios understood our situation and made an exception for us to change our ticket. I would never book through this site again, based on that experience. Had the Universal Rep not helped us out, we would have lost $750. The savings simply aren't worth it to me.

Date of experience : August 19, 2023

We apologize but as a 3rd party we need to reach out to the same partners who assisted you. We are glad the issue was fixed but the change of date has to come from the partner and just like buying from them they would need to approve or make changes for the guest especially in a situation where there is a weather issue to which other guests are waiting for an answer.

Don't buy the upgrade

I bought the regular sized drink and popcorn voucher for AMC. Upon applying the vouchers towards the upgrade to Large had me realize I actually spent $9+ more than had I not bothered. It does save you approximately $2 to buy the voucher specifically towards regular but don't bother with the upgrade.

No reply from customer service, but cancellation

Booked Disney tickets on Friday, all went well. No issues during the booking process. Monday, in the middle of the night, I‘ve got a call (which I did not answer - middle of the night!) and an email saying that they have a problem with our credit card and they immediately want to speak to the cardholder. I emailed them back that they should email me the details and that I will happily discuss all issues via email. I wrote that it is, in my opinion, very unusual to discuss alleged problems with a credit card payment on the phone without any details. Until now (Tuesday) I have received no answer but the cancellation of my order. As stated by other users - very poor customer service. We will never book with them again.

Guide to Discount Disney World Tickets (2024)

is undercover tourist

Our guide to discount Disney World tickets offers money-saving info, pros & cons of Park Hoppers, tips for the best deals on tickets for now through October 2025 at Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios & Animal Kingdom. Plus, price increase predictions, which is likely to happen this fall or holiday season. ( Updated March 20, 2024. )

If you’re wondering the best place to safely buy the discounted Walt Disney World multi-day tickets from an authorized reseller, we recommend Get Away Today , which offers an exclusive discount to readers of this site–enter promo code DTB23 at checkout for an extra $8 to $30 off per ticket! They have excellent deals on Central Florida theme parks, including Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure, and SeaWorld Orlando in addition to Disney’s theme and water parks.

This is one authorized sellers we recommend ( see info about the other below ), with the highlighted one changing based upon which currently has the best pricing. All three offer exceptional customer service and added flexibility, even superior to what Disney offers directly (call centers are currently short-staffed, making speaking with a person at Disney “challenging” to say the least). These low prices coupled with Get Away Today’s “Best Price Guarantee” makes them our recommended ticket seller.

Before we get going, let’s start with the latest Walt Disney World ticket news–there are several ticket deals currently available. First up, there’s the  Discounted Florida Resident Discover Disney Ticket . This offers Floridians the opportunity to buy a 4-day ticket for just $59 per day. These tickets are valid for use from April 2 to September 28, 2024, with an advance park reservation.

Much more significant is the  4-Park, 4-Day Walt Disney World Magic Ticket . This is available to the general public and offers admission starting at $99 per day admission without requiring reservations from April 2 to September 22, 2024. The big limitation here is that there’s no Park Hopping and you can only visit each park once, which is Walt Disney World’s way of redistributing attendance away from Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios (the two busiest parks) and to EPCOT and Animal Kingdom (the least busy parks).

If you can get past those two limitations (our post above explains how to work around them–especially during Party Season), the 4-Park Magic Ticket offers tremendous savings. The exact amount of the discount varies due to date-based pricing, but we’ve found that it averages around $100 per person. You can buy this ticket directly from Walt Disney World, or available for an even deeper discount via Get Away Today !

Rounding out the deals, there’s a new offer for Universal Orlando that’s very similar to Walt Disney World’s 4-Park Magic Ticket. Enjoy four days of thrills at Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure when you purchase Universal Orlando’s 2-Park Play 4 Days Promo Base Ticket , starting at $74 per day. With this, you can visit one park per day, upgrade to Park-to-Park tickets to visit multiple parks in the same day, or even upgrade to a 3-Park ticket to visit Volcano Bay.

is undercover tourist

You should also be aware that free FastPass+ has been replaced by paid line-skipping at Walt Disney World. We cover everything you need to know in our Guide to Genie+ at Walt Disney World & Lightning Lane FAQ . This system is totally different from its predecessor and can be overwhelming. Once you get past that rather steep and sometimes counterintuitive learning curve, it can be leveraged to your advantage.

You can only purchase Genie+ on a day-by-day basis during your Walt Disney World vacation. The latest wrinkle is that Genie+ now has per-park pricing, which is more expensive at Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Not-so-coincidentally, we only recommend buying Genie+ for Magic Kingdom (almost always), Disney’s Hollywood Studios (usually), and EPCOT (sometimes). We seldom recommend purchasing Genie+ at Animal Kingdom–there’s a reason why it’s cheapest there; it’s usually unnecessary.

With so many different park ticket options, this might already seem overwhelming. In this WDW park ticket guide, we present the pros and cons of different tickets so you can make an informed decision about which options are best for your family. We’ll break down everything you need to know about the complexities of Walt Disney World tickets.

We sort through the different options and give you recommendations on what types of tickets are best for you, plus where you can save money on Walt Disney World tickets. (If you’ve come looking for info on discount Disneyland tickets, you’ve come to the wrong place– but we do have an article with Tips for Saving Money on Disneyland Tickets , too .) By the end of this post, you’ll know way more than you ever thought there was to know about park tickets!

With that out of the way, let’s start with the latest ticket news & rumors…

2024 Ticket Price Increases

is undercover tourist

Typically, Walt Disney World raises ticket prices in February or October–sometimes both. Thus far in 2024, ticket prices have not increased, nor did they go up last October for regular tickets. Instead, the company raised rates on just about everything else, and also introduced per-park and date-based pricing for Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lanes, which effectively amounted to an indirect increase to the normal price of admission.

The good news is that prices for current tickets haven’t increased since December 2022, which is the first time in the 15 years we’ve been tracking prices when there was not an annual increase. The bad news is that Walt Disney World has already increased ticket prices for 2025 . But the good-within-bad news is that, unlike normal, this did not apply to tickets for 2024. It was a really weird move, as ticket price increases normally take effect immediately.

There’s a chance that Walt Disney World raises prices in October 2024, but we’re skeptical. Annual Pass prices will probably increase then, but not regular admission. It would defy logic to increase prices for 2025 in Winter 2024…and then wait until only 3 months are left in the year to increase prices on the remainder of 2024 dates. Not only that, but the big ‘price increase day’ always results in a wave of negative headlines, and Disney usually does everything at once to avoid dragging out the bad press.

What’s more likely is that prices go up again in early 2025. Walt Disney World is once again tweaking things with Lightning Lane pre-booking, and our guess is that will require changes to admission options. With that, price increases seem likely, which might be why Walt Disney World has not been nearly as aggressive in increasing prices.

is undercover tourist

If the last three years have taught us anything, it’s to expect the unexpected. Subscribe to our free email newsletter for all of the latest updates as we hear more rumors or official announcements about ticket prices.

Regardless, if you have a Walt Disney World trip planned for now through October 2025, we recommend buying tickets sooner rather than later to lock-in current prices (beyond the scope of this post, but we’d advise doing the same with your hotel room). There will likely be one price increase between now and the end of 2025, with 2 price increases in that timeframe being a possibility.

With that said, this is not as imperative as it used to be. A couple of years ago, Walt Disney World was raising price twice annually, meaning that you could ‘beat’ as many as 3 price increases by buying tickets early. That amounted to locking-in huge savings, but Disney has since (thankfully) slowed down on its price increases. There’s still zero downside to purchasing tickets in advance–but there’s also not as much upside.

Where to Buy the Cheapest Disney Tickets

is undercover tourist

As we mentioned at the beginning, to save money on multi-day Walt Disney World tickets, we recommend buying from Get Away Today , which is an authorized discount Disney ticket broker that typically has the lowest prices on legitimate park tickets. You can order tickets for use now through October 2025.

Another excellent ticket seller we recommend is Undercover Tourist . These two typically compete with each other on prices, and are usually within a few dollars of one another. Which is better often depends upon the ticket type and when you’re searching. (Like airfare, ticket prices fluctuate, especially as the various reputable sellers try to beat one another on pricing.)

is undercover tourist

After purchasing, you’ll receive confirmation codes for My Disney Experience via email, which enables you to easily link the tickets to your My Disney Experience account. This also means that the tickets are compatible with MagicBands, which you’ll receive with your Walt Disney World hotel reservation; you can also purchase special edition MagicBands in the parks.

There aren’t many Disney ticket sellers that are actually legitimate, so be careful if you find a deal elsewhere. The sellers we mention in this article are the ones that have the best reputations and offer the biggest discounts. If you find a better deal somewhere else, well…you know what they say about when something sounds too good to be true!

is undercover tourist

Authorized discount Disney ticket brokers are great ways to save money on park tickets over gate prices, but not every third party ticket broker is reliable and trust-worthy. Most places selling discount Disney tickets are scams . Buying tickets on eBay or Craigslist is about as good of an idea as buying Louis Vuitton purses on a street corner.

Disney tickets are non-transferrable–they are tied to your fingerprint once partially used. If you get burned by these sellers with a partially-used or counterfeit ticket, Disney won’t have sympathy. You’ll have to pay full price for tickets at the park gates. Not exactly the best way to start the day on a Disney vacation!

is undercover tourist

The good news is that there are several legitimate, authorized Walt Disney World ticket sellers that can be trusted. In addition to Get Away Today , we also recommend Undercover Tourist . Both are highly reputable and offer great customer service. (Beyond this trio, there are other trustworthy third party sellers, but we can’t vouch for any of them.)

If you’re comparing prices, remember to compare apples to apples: Disney prices don’t include the Florida 6.5% tax, whereas prices from the sellers we recommend do include tax into the final price you pay . Sorry bold that all, but we get so many comments from people who miss that, and wonder why the discounts aren’t as good as promised. Also make sure you’re comparing Park Hopper tickets to regular tickets or not. Lots of people make mistakes in not comparing the same tickets to one another.

Additionally, you might be eligible for discount tickets through your employer or a membership program like TicketsAtWork that can save even more than the alternatives. The only downsides are that some of these tickets require more advance notice for processing, and that what you receive is a ticket voucher (it still can be linked to My Disney Experience); you will need to pick up the actual ticket when you arrive at Walt Disney World.

Moving on, let’s take a look at which type of ticket options are best for you…

Which Tickets to Buy?

is undercover tourist

Sometimes people ask which ticket is our favorite for first-time visitors to Walt Disney World, and it really depends upon how long you’re visiting. In our Walt Disney World Vacation Planning Guide , we recommend most first-time visitors take a 6-8 trip.

Assuming you are going this route, you probably won’t spend every moment in the park. You’ll want a rest day in the middle to spend recovering poolside, and maybe a shopping day (or morning) at Disney Springs. With that said, we recommend buying a ticket that is 1-2 days shorter than the duration of your vacation–unless you’re visiting for 4 days or fewer, in which case you should purchase a ticket for every day. Always get at least a 4-day ticket. Ideally, get nothing less than a 5-day ticket.

Meaning, if your vacation is 8 days, we recommend the 6-day or 7-day ticket. If you are visiting for 6 days, get the 5-day ticket. In our experience, a 6-day Walt Disney World vacation is about the sweet spot for first-timers. That means either a 4-day or 5-day ticket is going to be a smart bet for most people reading this. (If you have more time, that’s excellent!)

Are Park Hopper Tickets Worth it?

is undercover tourist

The Park Hopper add-on allows you to visit multiple parks in the same day. You can bounce around the parks and maximize your time in the parks. Some guests can skip the Park Hopper option: particularly those with small children and those who won’t stay out late.

On the other hand, Park Hopping can be really beneficial if you want to revisit favorite attractions or head over to a certain park for the evening for dinner. With the exception of Magic Kingdom, you won’t need to spend multiple full days in any park, and the ability to bounce around is a great solution allowing you to spend additional partial days in the other parks.

is undercover tourist

Another benefit of the Park Hopper option is spending more hours per day in the theme parks. Since each park has different opening and closing hours, getting a Park Hopper is a good way to extend your day (particularly in the off-season when parks close earlier) or spend more time in Magic Kingdom. Magic Kingdom often closes later than the other parks, so you squeeze a couple more hours out of day by starting your day in Animal Kingdom (for example) and heading to Magic Kingdom once Animal Kingdom closes.

If you’re staying in an eligible on-site Walt Disney World resort, you’ll also potentially need the Park Hopper option to take advantage of Extended Evening Hours. This perk is incredibly advantageous, as crowds are usually low during these nighttime hours. If you don’t buy the Park Hopper option, you’ll need to start your day in the park offering Extended Evening Hours in order to take advantage. See our Guide to Extended Evening Hours at Walt Disney World   for taking advantage of this perk, eligibility, and more.

is undercover tourist

Because of these two things, we generally recommend purchasing the Park Hopper option. While it does cost more, if you’re buying multiple day tickets, you might be surprised to learn that the extra cost is insignificant. Currently, a discounted 7-day Walt Disney World Adult Park Hopper Ticket will cost around $650 after tax, with some dates costing more and some costing less. Obviously, that’s a lot of money.

However, compare it to a 1-day Park Hopper ticket directly from Disney, which can cost over $180 after tax. For less than the price of three 1-day tickets, you can purchase a 7-day discounted Park Hopper. That 7-day ticket works out to being less than $95/day!

Other multi-day tickets offer similar savings, so be sure to look at the prices of other multi-day Walt Disney World tickets and do some comparison shopping to see just how much you can save. Walt Disney World advertises that “the more you play, the less you pay per day” and this is definitely true.

What About Park Hopper Plus Tickets?

is undercover tourist

The Park Hopper Plus ticket option (formerly “Water Park Fun & More”) offers everything included with Park Hopper Tickets mentioned above, plus access to Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach water parks, ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course, and Winter Summerland or Fantasia Gardens mini golf.

With Park Hopper Plus tickets, you are eligible for the same number of “Plus” admissions as the number of days on your ticket. Meaning that if you have a 7-day Park Hopper Plus ticket, you also have 7 entrances the water parks, mini golf, etc. (Be mindful of operating schedules, as not all of these options are open year-round.)

Whether this ticket is right for you really depends upon whether you want to do any of the parks beyond the 4 main theme parks. If you want to do one of the other things even once or twice, you come out ahead to purchase the Park Hopper Plus Tickets. We love both Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach, and enjoy both of the mini golf courses (albeit less so than the water parks) and recommend this ticket option to anyone who will be spending 6 days or more at Walt Disney World.

What About the Water Park and Sports Option?

is undercover tourist

The Water Park and Sports Option is available as an add-on to select Walt Disney World theme park tickets for $70 plus tax. This option allows guests to visit one theme park each day, plus various water park or sports experiences that same number of times.

The Water Park & Sports Option is valid at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon or Disney’s Blizzard Beach water parks, ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course, FootGolf at Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course, Disney’s Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf, or Disney’s Winter Summerland Miniature Golf. (Again, pay attention to operating schedules, as not all of these options are open year-round.)

Basically, this ticket is the non-park hopper version of the aforementioned Park Hopper Plus ticket option. The analysis for the Water Park and Sports Ticket Option is identical to the Park Hopper Plus, but for those who only want to do one theme park per day. We generally favor the Park Hopper Plus option as it offers great flexibility and the upgrade cost to that is insignificant, but that’s just us.

Affiliation Discounts

is undercover tourist

If for some reason you don’t want to buy discounted Disney tickets from Get Away Today or Undercover Tourist , there’s a possibility you qualify for some other form of discount. The most common discounts are: Florida resident, military/department of defense, corporate or “club” discounts, Disney Vacation Club, and sometimes Walt Disney World ticket discounts for Europeans.

Of these discounts, military Disney ticket discounts are typically the best, followed by AAA discounts. AAA discounts are only offered through local offices and tax isn’t included in their price quotes. Note that Disney ended its relationship with AAA, so there are no additional perks for buying Disney tickets through AAA anymore.

AAA discounts typically are not as good as the prices offered by the discount ticket brokers, but military or department of defense discounts are always better. The “Stars and Stripes” promotion (only available to select members of the armed forces and department of defense) will usually annihilate what is offered by third party discount ticket brokers or AAA. This promo isn’t always offered, so call Shades of Green at 888-593-2242 prior to ordering tickets to see whether it’s available for your stay.

is undercover tourist

Another option available to some people is TicketsAtWork. This is a members-only site that partners with certain corporations to offer company employees exclusive discounts and special offers for theme parks, attractions, Broadway shows, special events, hotels, concerts, and movie tickets. In other words, Tickets at Work is a “perk” that’s available only to employees of certain corporations.

Tickets at Work most definitely is legitimate. Unfortunately, we cannot offer a price comparison to Tickets at Work because we don’t work for companies partnered with Tickets at Work, nor do we know anyone who does. Anecdotally, we’ve heard that in some cases, Tickets at Work offers prices that are slightly better. In other cases, their prices are worse. We’ve also been told that shipping can take 2-3 weeks with Tickets at Work, which could be a deal-breaker if you’re trying to make reservations in a hurry. Check with your company’s HR department to see if your company is a Tickets at Work partner.

Now, let’s cover one other possible Walt Disney World park ticket options…

Florida Resident Ticket Discounts

is undercover tourist

If you live in Florida (and have proof of residence–DVC membership does not count), there are occasionally discount 2-day to 4-day Walt Disney World ticket offers from January until April and Summer through September each year during times when attendance is historically light. For Floridians, these are the best deals of the year–better than anything else on this list.

The current Florida resident ticket deal is discussed at the top of this post. The downside of this deal is that it’s only valid Mondays through Fridays, but the upside is that there’s a discount  at all  during the popular Christmas season. Many years, there’s nothing at all this time of year!

What About An Annual Pass?

is undercover tourist

Walt Disney World resumed new Annual Pass sales late last month. Everything you need to know about buying an AP is covered in our  Walt Disney World Annual Pass FAQ . All tiers of APs (Incredi-Pass, Sorcerer Pass, and Pirate Pass, and Pixie Dust Pass) are still available for purchase. However, Walt Disney World has already warned that tiers are likely to sell out soon. Note that unless you’re a Floridian or DVC member, you’re only eligible to purchase the Incredi-Pass.

This AP can make sense if you’re taking at least two trips to Walt Disney World in the span of 365 days. Some fans use APs for this specific purpose, taking week-long trips during the Halloween or Christmas season each year, and essentially putting one of those trips at the beginning of the window and another at the end of the window. (For example, doing the second week of December 2024 and the first week of December 2025.)

If you’re doing two week-long trips, the Incredi-Pass will work out in your favor. You’re looking at 7-day tickets that will be over $700 each, adding up to more than the cost of the Incredi-Pass on their own. The story is similar if you’re taking 3 shorter trips in a 365-day stretch. Let’s say you’re doing three long-weekend trips of 3-days each. Individually, those tickets would cost you over $460 each, totaling more than the cost of the Incredi-Pass.

is undercover tourist

Where the math gets complicated is for those planning two trips in a 365-day stretch with a combined total of 10 or fewer days. In this scenario, the cost of your tickets will actually end up being around $75 less than an Incredi-Pass. However, the AP also offers discounts on merchandise & dining, which alone will easily add up to $75 saved over 10 days in the parks. Beyond that, it opens up access to the aforementioned superior resort discounts or, if you won’t use those because you’re staying off-site, free parking at the theme parks.

So either way you slice it, two trips totaling at least 10 days over the course of 365 days is the likely breakeven point for the Incredi-Pass. That’s going to vary from person-to-person, though. We’ve heard from people who could make less work and others who couldn’t justify APs until 11 days.

However, that’s more or less the general rule. If you’re traveling more than that, it’s easy to justify Walt Disney World APs. Less than that, and it becomes much more difficult. If it’s a close call, we’d recommend purchasing passes. The money-saved via discounts and other perks, such as freebies and access to exclusive events like ride previews, does add up and is difficult to account for in your initial calculation.

is undercover tourist

Hopefully the above info helped you determine which Walt Disney World park ticket you should buy and how to save money on those tickets. If you still have some questions, here are some general rules:

  • Thanks to very good discounts, our top recommendation for Walt Disney World is the 5-day to 7-day Park Hopper ticket, all of which provide excellent savings.
  • We recommend the Park Hopper option for most people, but if you definitely won’t visit more than one park per day, you can save additional money by skipping the Park Hopper option.
  • By purchasing via an authorized ticket broker, you can make park reservations ahead of time. If you buy tickets once you arrive to Walt Disney World, you’re at a disadvantage in two ways: you pay more for tickets and you cannot make park reservations in advance.
  • Do not consider an Annual Pass unless you will visit Walt Disney World for roughly 15+ days in a 365 day window, or will take multiple shorter trips.
  • If you are planning a vacation and definitely going to Walt Disney World before October 2025, it’s always best to buy tickets as far in advance as possible to lock-in current prices and avoid future increases.

I’m having issues too! May 2024 WDW tickets are $64 cheaper than on Getaway today. And I did compare apples to apples. I keep going over my input to make sure, and no savings to our family of 5.

Is Undercover Tourist Legit?

Most summers, around 48 percent of all Americans opt to skip out on summer vacations because they can’t afford it. In summer 2021, that number may climb even higher, thanks to the layoffs and other side effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

For most families, taking a summer vacation, and particularly a dream Disney World or Universal Studios Orlando vacation takes a lot of careful planning, hard work, and often months or even years of saving.

Finding great deals on hotels, food, and even tickets can go a long way towards making that next dream vacation more affordable. Unfortunately, there are lots of ticket scams lurking on the web, promising cheap tickets that either don’t exist or that come with lengthy timeshare presentations.

That’s where Undercover Tourist comes in.

Is this site legit, or are their ticket savings too good to be true? Keep reading to find out.

Beware of Ticket Deals That Seem Too Good to be True

A quick web search for discount tickets to Walt Disney World or Universal Studios Orlando will turn up hundreds of reviews and horror stories about ticket scams.

Some individuals buy tickets online from unreputable sellers, only to receive nothing in return. Others receive tickets that seem legit, but won’t get them in the gate once they arrive in Orlando.

Either way, these scams can cost buyers hundreds of dollars or more. For families planning a vacation on a tight budget, this can bring a quick end to that dream vacation.

Finding out that your tickets weren’t legit once you’re already on vacation is even worse. You’ll be faced with a big decision; disappoint little ones who were expecting to see the Mickey Mouse or experience Hogwarts in person, or shell out even more money on last-minute tickets.

Right now, Walt Disney World is requiring all guests to make a reservation for the day and park that they plan to visit. While capacity numbers are being increased as local health regulations allow, reservations are still limited, especially on popular days of the week and holidays.

If you’ve purchased tickets that are not legit, you won’t be able to make those crucial reservations. Fail to purchase real tickets right away, and you might miss the window on making a reservation, and will have to adjust your plans.

Even legitimate hacks for getting discounted park tickets aren’t always reliable. For instance, while Costco was once a great way to save a few dollars on Disney World tickets, many locations now no longer carry these tickets.

Common Theme Park Ticket Scams

There are a number of common ticket scams out there.

Fake Ticket Websites

Perhaps the easiest to fall for are websites that look legitimate, but that are selling fake tickets. If you fail to notice major warning signs, like the site not being an authorized ticket seller for common theme parks, you might wind up with tickets that look real, but won’t allow you to make a park reservation or get through the gate.

Ticket Resales From Individuals

Another common ticket scam is individuals peddling tickets on websites like Craigslist and eBay. Some may advertise unused tickets. Occasionally sellers will claim to be offering up leftover tickets that they didn’t use on their own vacation packages.

The latter is impossible to do. When you buy and use a ticket, that ticket is registered to your name. You can’t transfer these tickets, even to members of your only family. So buying these tickets from someone on the web is always a scam.

Never, ever buy tickets from an individual on any resale site or through social media.

Timeshare Presentations

A final popular ticket scam that will actually get you legitimate tickets is a timeshare presentation. While this will land you real tickets to get into theme parks like Universal Studios Orlando, Legoland, and Disney World, there’s a big catch.

In order to get your hands on your tickets, you’ll first have to sit through a timeshare presentation. These can last anywhere from an hour to several hours. During this time, you’ll be bombarded by a salesman trying to get you to sign the dotted line on a multi-thousand dollar timeshare.

Besides taking time out of your vacation, this can also put a damper on a good day. In most cases, you won’t receive your ticket until after you sit through the presentation during your vacation. This can make it impossible to make a park reservation if necessary, which may limit which parks or days you can visit.

What is Undercover Tourist?

Now that you know a few common ticket scams, it’s time to find out why Undercover Tourist is different.

Unlike a resale on Craigslist or a fake website, Undercover Tourist is an authorized seller of tickets from popular theme parks across the country.

This means that companies like Walt Disney World, Universal Studios Orlando, Legoland, and more have chosen to trust Undercover Tourist. These companies allow the site to sell real tickets at a discount.

Because Undercover Tourist is an authorized seller of theme park tickets, you might be wondering whether it’s worth booking your tickets from them. After all, if you get the same benefits, why not book directly through the park instead?

So is Undercover Tourist legit? The answer is yes, it’s a legitimate site offering discount tickets to popular destinations.

While Undercover Tourist sells real tickets, they’re actually selling wholesale tickets.

That means that the website has purchased large batches of tickets from the theme parks that they partner with. By doing so, they are able to score a discount on these tickets.

These discounts are then passed on to their customers. Depending on the parks that you choose and the number of days on your ticket, you can save anywhere from a few dollars to a few hundred dollars on your vacation. All by simply switching from the theme park’s website to Undercover Tourist.

When you buy these tickets, you’ll receive most of the same benefits as buying directly from the theme park that you’re planning to visit.

For instance, when you buy a Disney World ticket from Undercover Tourist, you can still add your ticket to the My Disney app. This allows you to make advance park reservations, add dining reservations, and more. You can also purchase Genie + to get to the front of the lines on most rides.

If you’re staying at an on-site Walt Disney World resort, you can still purchase your park tickets through Undercover Tourist. You’ll be able to book Genie + the same day that you visit the park, so no need to worry about purchasing the Genie + feature in advance.

What Tickets Can You Purchase Through Undercover Tourist?

Undercover Tourist offers tickets to the most popular theme parks and other destinations in Orlando, Florida. Some of the most popular parks that you can purchase tickets for include:

  • Walt Disney World
  • Universal Orlando
  • SeaWorld Orlando
  • Fun Spot America Theme Park
  • LEGOLAND Florida

But Undercover Tourist offers tickets to destinations outside of Orlando, and for far more attractions than just theme parks.

You can also purchase Undercover Tourist Disneyland tickets for the parks in California, book shows and tours in cities like New York and Chicago, and make hotel reservations in cities across the country.  You can even get discount tickets to ski resorts !

Besides ticket sales, hotel reservations, and car rentals, Undercover Tourist also offers a variety of features to help you plan your next vacation. The Undercover Tourist crowd calendar makes it easy to find the best dates for your next visit.

Planning Your Next Visit to Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, Legoland, and More

Planning a family vacation to Disney World, Universal Studios, or LEGOLAND can be expensive. But sifting through the many ticket scams on the web can make saving money feel impossible.

Luckily, Undercover Tourist offers a great alternative. Whether you’re looking for discounted Undercover Tourist Disney tickets or want to save on your hotel stay, the website offers real, legitimate savings that can help your family enjoy more vacation fun for less money.

Another great way to save on your next vacation is by working with a travel agent.

While this method often gets a bad rep, working with an agent won’t actually cost you any money. Instead, your agent can help you plan the perfect trip for your family while also saving you big bucks on your Walt Disney World or Universal Studios Orlando vacation.

Check out this link next to learn how to find the best Disney travel agent and why you should use one to plan your next vacation.
