Excellent choice for the Southwest Circuit

My girlfriend and I joined up with another couple to do the 4 day tour from Tupiza. We had been recommended La Torre by another traveller and were not disappointed. The reality is that all the tour operators provide a very similar experience - visiting the same sites and staying in similar hostels en-route etc. However, I would note the following about La Torre: - very experienced guides who were always keen to avoid the crowds at each stopping point by leaving 10 minutes earlier and driving slightly faster (though I never felt unsafe!). This was crucial to a great tour experience - for example we virtually had the hot springs to ourselves, whilst half an hour later there were 20-odd people jostling for space. - good, comfortable cars. We went with 4 in the jeep. It is possible to have 5 (and slightly cheaper per person) but I think this would have been cramped. You have 4 full days in these cars. - good food and snacks. We took the liberty of comparing our meals to the other tour operators that shared the same hostels and are firmly of the opinion that ours were better! Eg lasagne and wine on the last night when others had just pasta. Couple of things to note. - most of the drivers are not English speakers. Our Spanish phrase book was heavily used. Not the end of the world if you don't speak Spanish as it is a visual experience primarily but worth asking for an English guide if you desire. - the music played in the jeep was questionable! Worth bringing your own on a USB stick or mp3 with cable attachment. We got a little tired of Gangnam style!

We went on a four day trip with La Torre tours, which was really excellent. The price was very reasonable (1350 BS). Our guides, Raul and Daisy, were the best. Great food and jeep, + nice company. The area is unbelievable. Must see.

My mother and I took the 4-day Salar de Uyuni tour from Tupiza with Torre Tours. It was wonderful and we had a great experience! The vehicle was comfortable and in perfect condition, the food was plentiful and delicious and the sights were breathtaking! Edwin our guide was patient and attentive to the group´s desires. He gave us options for where to stop and how long to stay in any one location. We were 4 in our jeep and he often dropped us off and let us walk to pick us up a bit further down. This was great as it allowed us to move around rather than always be sitting in the jeep and to get a better look at the beautiful landscapes. Edwin was also a very careful driver over some of the rougher parts of the roads. My only critique is that we could have been a bit more talkative and given us a bit more background information on the sights we visited. But otherwise I really enjoyed this experience and would definitely reccommend this agency to anybody wishing to visit the salt flats!

We spent few of days in Tupiza and loved it. The hotel La Torre didnt didnt have much charm (such a hotel doesnt exist in Tupiza...), but it was clean, inexpensive, comfortable. Tupiza has got great places where you can go for easy and beautiful day hikes. You need just to bring your food, water and a map, you dont need any guide. We didnt meet 1 single tourists during our hikes to places around the town like Puerta del Diablo or Valle Magico. If you want to drive to the mountins you have to rent a jeep with a driver (driving car yourself? forget it! No maps, fog, narrow path, bad wather.) And we can highly recommend La Torre Tours. The travel agency is located right in the hotel of the same name. Their jeeps and drivers are up to pretty good standard. Their are helpful and if you write them befor going there and ask for information they answer propmptly and correctly. The 3-4days trips to Uyuni: In case you want to save money go for their inexpensive version (4pax in 1car+a driver+a cook). For relativly little money you get a great experience of the mountains. Very basic acommodation, but a true experience. We hired just a jeep with a driver without any cook and only for 2 of us. And we had a such comfortible drive (the cook sits usually in the front occupying the best seat and another pax in the car are a bother too, right :-) !). Of course we had to bring our staff for cooking and water for 3days. And we were so lucky with our driver, who was so nice, decent, attentive. His name was Ismael and we do recommand to ask for him! The way we did the trip was twice more expensive, but if you dont want so socialise with other pax then it is great. IN GENERAL WE HIGHLY RECOMMAND LA TORRE TOURS IN TUPIZA!

I did a 4 day tour from Tupiza to Uyuni. I've been traveling for over a year, and I'd have to say that the sights and sceneries I experienced on this tour were the most beautiful I've ever seen. The landscape is amazing and so diversed; from vast deserts to sweeping mountainscapes; lagunas of blue, green, and crimson in color; and of course the amazing Salar de Uyuni, especially at sunrise. Elvis was a well prepared and professional guide that took care of every little detail during our trip. He made sure we were well informed and ready for each day with a nightly briefing at dinner. Our cook, Nancy, whipped up some incredible fares that exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend doing this tour, especially with the team of Elvis and Nancy!

We did a 4 day Tupiza to Uyuni tour late March, and it was absolutely brilliant. We are a mature couple, as were the other 2 in our group, and we were so impressed by every aspect of the trip. The vehicle was comfortable, and Edwin, our driver was thoughtful, careful and patient with the vehicle on the very rough 4WD tracks. We felt very safe. He was informative and quietly funny. Camila, our cook was also a star...with amazing meals...3 giant ones a day, plus snacks...plenty of fresh vegetables, fruits ...and meat, chicken etc. She even took extra time to prepare special things for me when necessary as I have coeliac disease and cannot eat bread or wheat or flour. We felt very spoiled and well cared for. The scenery itself is breath taking, and spectacular...not to be missed. La Torre certainly made our journey a very special one. Things like the shower situation are what you expect when you travel in remote areas like this where facilities are simple. The beds in all places were very warm, extremely comfortable. Take your camera and lots of memory cards!

Excellent trekking and a wonderful place with unmissable views. My son and I hiked the W Circuit for 4 days and it was not wasted, everything was  just fabulous. The contrast between the mountains and the lakes make it a really special place.

An amazing place with staff who were so friendly and helpful both in organising our excursions and room service. I was very fortunate to see a puma during one of our excursions.
