South Africa Group Tours for Solo Travellers

Travel solo as part of a group tour to South Africa

why Travel solo to south africa?

Adrenaline, wildlife and wine? Combinations like that can’t be ignored and a solo trip to South Africa takes in all three…

Thanks to cosmopolitan Cape Town, rolling vineyards and of course, its world-famous wildlife – South Africa proves to be, time and again, a place where solo travellers can tick so much from their bucket lists.

In just two weeks, you can cover wine-tasting in Stellenbosch, game driving in Kruger , snorkelling in kelp forests to look for octopus, abseiling (yes, abseiling) down Table Mountain and ziplining on the Panorama Route. If you’re looking for somewhere that has it all – South Africa could be it.

Top places to visit in South Africa

There’s a rugged Atlantic charm to this city – with its jagged terrain, sloping down to smart seaside neighbourhoods, all sitting in the formidable shadow of Table Mountain. Add to that the array of world-class restaurants and stylish shops, and you’ve got a city that’s both chic and adventurous.

Stellenbosch

Expect all the charms of a university town mixed in with a world-class wine culture. Decanter has called the town the ‘home of Cape Cabernet’, thanks to its well-known production of rich, expressive wines. There’s plenty to interest hikers, too, with starry scenery to match its superlative wines.

Kruger National Park

One of the world’s best and biggest (it’s the size of Wales) wildlife reserves, all of Africa’s iconic safari species can be spotted here. Elephant, rhino, lion, leopard, buffalo, cheetah, giraffe, hippo and zebra all share the bushveld with a whole host of smaller mammals and over 500 species of bird.

Johannesburg

South Africa’s vibrant heart is a place of cultural diversity and rapid urban renewal. With its thriving arts scene, well-established cafe culture and Soweto – the country’s most populous township – Jo’burg buzzes with energy and it’s the best place in the country for life nightlife and live music.

South Africa solo travel

Solo Travel in South Africa

Travelling solo might seem daunting at first but in reality, it may just be the most laidback trip you’ve ever been on.

If you’re anything like us, it often feels like you need a holiday to recover from the holiday, especially when you’ve been travelling en famille or with a group of very different opinions, paces and tastes. When it’s just you, your days can be as jam-packed or easygoing as you’d like – and if you come across a fantastic new activity or destination, slipping it into the itinerary takes no discussion at all. It’s your chance to step out of your comfort zone and find out what you really love to do when no one else’s thoughts are in the mix.

Although, if you’re feeling social, a solo trip is also fantastic for meeting new people from across the globe, whether it’s over wine tasting or sharing epic moments on a game drive. You may even find other solo travellers along the way. You’ll also get to know your guides and hosts, which often becomes a really special part of the trip, and you may just learn some of the local languages.

South Africa is a wonderful start for breaking into travelling solo, from Cape Town’s lively atmosphere and road tripping down the Garden Route to the luxury and intimate camps in Kruger’s concessions. Read on for two of our favourite trips for solo travel in South Africa.

solo travel in South Africa

Wine, wildlife & exploring the Cape

Your trip begins in South Africa’s Mother City, Cape Town , where the cosy comforts of Welgelegen House await. Thanks to its central location just off Kloof Street, discovering the endless charms of Cape Town comes very, very easily. If it’s adventure you seek, there are guided hiking trails to the top of Table Mountain and across its beautiful National Park. On the other hand, you might prefer to find the softest stretch of sand and soak up the sun from one of Cape Town’s world-class beaches , or wind your way down Chapman’s Peak and head for Boulder’s Beach where penguins swim and waddle just metres away. Then there’s the endless list of scrumptious cafes, restaurants and markets to keep you replenished…

Your next stop is La Fontaine , a debonair guest house in the centre of Franschhoek , from which you can explore the town’s artisanal spots or hop on the Wine Tram for a jaunt from vineyard to vineyard. La Fontaine will happily organise a private tour of the valley’s finest wine estates, pairing their famous reds and whites with local treats, or lunch at one of the many fabulous restaurants. Should you fancy getting out and about, enjoy the mountain scenery on a hike or horseback ride , then return for a dip in the secluded pool.

Your South African journey ends at nThambo Tree Camp in the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve in the Greater Kruger area . With just five stilted chalets, the experience at nThambo is personal and immersive, and the activities are completely flexible. The guides and trackers are some of the best in the country and they will join you on all game drives and walking safaris , seeking out members of the Big Five, African painted dogs and sensational birdlife. Should you fancy a night drive, hyena, porcupine and aardwolf may appear too… After sunset, you’ll find the Boma area abuzz with other guests, where you’ll swap stories from the day in the firelight.

Southern Africa’s highlights all-in-one

On this epic trip , you’ll combine Cape Town and an unforgettable safari with one the Seven Natural Wonders of the World: Victoria Falls . Find your feet in Cape Town, strolling from funky vintage shop to tasty bistro and the Skittle-coloured houses of the Bo-Kaap to the historic and poignant District Six Museum; hiking mountain trails ; paragliding from the top of Lion’s Head; driving the scenic route to Cape Point ; and wine tasting in the picturesque Constantia Valley . Afterwards, the characterful Welgelegen House (one of our Cape Town favourites) will be waiting to welcome you back.

You’ll see an entirely different side to South Africa when you arrive in the Klaserie Nature Reserve, the largest private reserve on the borders of the iconic Kruger National Park . Completely in tune with the wild surroundings, the rooms at nThambo Tree Camp fulfill the treehouse dreams of your childhood with roll-up walls revealing a 180° view. Your safari begins before leaving the camp as wildebeest, zebra and impala arrive at the nearby waterhole – and elephant may even join you at the pool for a drink. The majestic Drakensberg Mountains watch over you whilst exploring by 4×4 or foot, led by your all-knowing guide, ready to spot giraffe, hippo, lion (and the rest of the Big Five) and the highly-coveted African painted dog.

Your final stop is the enthralling Victoria Falls, which you can admire from various viewpoints , each more gasp-worthy than the next. Otherwise, enjoy a cruise along the Zambezi River or take to a helicopter and hover high overhead for a different view. The mighty ‘Smoke that Thunders’ plunges into the gorge with such force that its rising mist can be seen from almost 50 kilometres away and rainbows often appear within it. You can make a similar plunge with a thrilling bungee jump or take on the rapids on a white water rafting excursion . Following a day like this, there’s nothing better than a hot, bubbly soak in the tub and hearty dinner beside the fire at Bayete Guest Lodge .

Frequently Asked Questions about Holidays for Solo travellers to South Africa

Just You's Experience South Africa tour will take you on a journey from the South West to the North East of this epic country - ticking all the boxes on the way.  With cities and National Parks on the way, this truly is the trip of a lifetime.

South Africa has it all - the wildlife and the landscapes, waterfalls and mountains plus cosmopolitan cities and some unique cuisine. Our highlights are

Ascending Table Mountain on a thrilling cable car ride

Travelling along the Panorama Route- the rainforest at God's Window, Bourke's Luck potholes and Blyde Canyon are just some of the highlights along this famous route.

The game drive in Kruger - home to the Big 5 - lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo.

Meat is still pretty central to a meal in South Africa (although they can cater for vegetarian - it just isn't part of many of their traditional dishes)

Dry curing is still very popular as used in both Biltong (a thinly sliced, air-dried meat) and Droewors (an air-dried sausage).

Boerewors is a famous traditional South Africa sausage - made from beef often mixed with pork and various spices and coiled in a similar style to the Cumberland sausage.

On the Experience South Africa tour, if the weather is fair, you will enjoy one of South Africa's oldest traditions for dinner - the Boma (literally the gathering place where guests meet for candlelit dinners in an open air atmosphere) for a famous African barbeque meal.

And as for drink - South African wines enjoy world wide popularity these days and rightly so!

South Africa experiences a high degree of sunshine - with the overall climate ranging from desert and semi-desert in the northwest to subtropical on the eastern coast.

We recommend you bring walking boots or comfortable shoes to enable you to enjoy your destination to its fullest.

If there was ever a time to bring binoculars on a trip, it’s now! Who knows what animal might be around the corner!!

We would also recommend you bring lightweight clothing and something warm for the evenings - as it can be cold in some parts of the country. Its always good to have layers for these occasions.

South africa’s best solo trip destinations.

Travelling solo can be a very daunting experience. A lack of proper planning and a bad destination choice can lead to much regret. However, the flip side of the coin is that a solo trip can also be a fondly unforgettable and pleasurable experience.

In fact, solo travel can be viewed as the ultimate self-indulgence. You get the chance to bond with self and to partake in activities that your loved ones may find boring. It is also a great way to meet new people.

Livingstone is the ideal solo travel destination

South Africa has many parts that are suited to solo travel. Here are some of the best:

City life and buzz in Cape Town

When in the Mother City, it is highly unlikely that you will feel lonely. As such, it is the perfect destination for solo travellers. Whether you’re looking to connect with self or meet some new people, it’s the right place to be. There is plenty to do and explore including visiting popular landmarks and partaking in activities that tickle your fancy.

If you’re lucky enough, you may even bump into other solo travellers who are willing to spend time with you around any of Cape Town’s  pristine beaches. For some alone time, you can have a solo date at one of the many stunning restaurants, or head to one of the city’s luxurious spas for some peace and pampering.

Taking it easy in Umhlanga

Close to King Shaka International Airport, the upmarket suburb of Umhlanga has an all-year round holiday feel. As a solo traveller, you can enjoy a peaceful walk around the promenade, try out interesting restaurants and even spend some time at the beach. Gateway Mall is also not too far, so you can catch a movie or satisfy your inner shopaholic.

Due to the number of tourists who are usually around the area, you’re also bound to come across new and interesting people who may be solo travellers like yourself.

The scenic Garden Route

Keen for an experience you won’t regret along a scenic stretch of coastline? The Garden Route is for you! Embarking on a solo roadtrip along the Garden Route is nothing short of marvellous. Places such as Plettenberg Bay and Knysna which are along the route have a lot of beauty and fun to offer, including unique restaurants which you can try out as a solo diner.

A tranquil  Mpumalanga safari

Tintswalo celebrates a year of virtual safaris

Mpumalanga is a lovely and tranquil destination to visit. The province has a lot of great safari lodges, affording you some much needed time off in the quietude of nature. For wildlife sightings, you can join into group game drives. This way, you can meet new people and share your Safari experience.

There is also never any shortage of fellow travellers wanting to chat about their own sightings, restaurant visits and overall experience in and around the area. After all, being alone doesn’t have to amount to an experience of unbearable loneliness.

What people love about South Africa Tours

With Gareth we had a great, well organized short week, too short but ful of information, entertainment, fun.
An excellent tour which we couldn’t fault. Our guide, Rochelle, was superb. She was knowledgeable, always helpful and cheerful. We did everything we wanted to do and more. Highly recommended.
This tour was one of the greatest travel experiences I've ever had. Our CEO Alfred Dovey led the way throughout South Africa with such care and knowledge about everything we did while providing clear direction of what each plan of the day was and where we needed to be. I feel was was able to see, learn and experience South Africa in a way I could have never done on my own. I highly recommend this G Adventure tour.

of “the triumph of the human spirit over adversity, suffering and injustice”. Robben Island is visited every year by thousands of people eager to understand and honour the important aspects of South Africa’s history that it represents.

After our Robben Island tour, we will head off to the Constantia Winelands where we stop at Groot Constantia. Groot Constantia is the oldest wine estate in South Africa and a provincial heritage site in the suburb of Constantia in Cape Town, South Africa. "Groot" in Dutch and Afrikaans translates as "great" in English. Here we will do a cellar tour, wine & chocolate tasting.

Dinner tonight is a chic African experience. Dining begins with the drumbeat of the djembe drum. An interactive drum circle offers you the opportunity to join in and learn how to play the djembe. In no time at all you will be drumming with the rest of Africa! After drumming for a while, you will be lead into ancient courtyards where your hands are ceremoniously washed before eating. The cuisine is authentically Cape Malay and African and is served by beautifully clad waitrons in African style baskets. As you dine you will be entertained by the live performances near your table. TIPPING Tipping may not be your custom, or the custom of your home country, however it is significant in many parts of the world for roles in tourism. It’s customary to tip tour service personnel including your group tour leader, driver, local guides, restaurant staff, and hotel porters. It’s also appreciated to leave small tips for room attendants and restaurant wait staff.  We appreciate that for many travellers tipping is awkward, and they are unsure about how and what amount to tip.

Tipping for some tour services are included in your tour package however it does not cover your tour leader.

Your Tour Leader As tipping is customary, please recognise your tour leader’s good service, and the custom of tipping tour leaders, and tip them at the completion of your tour. Your tour leader is away from home for the duration of your visit and tipping is a part of recognising this dedication.

ABOUT THE MEALS  It’s regular that our trips included welcome dinners and farewell dinners for our groups.

On this trip, the majority of your meals are included. There’s nothing better than to share a meal with new friends and discuss the day’s adventures.

Are you a flexitarian? If you have dietary requirements, please advise if it is due to allergies or for medical reasons or if it is a personal preference and if you are flexible. Dietary requirements will limit choices. If a dietary requirement is not essential due to medical reasons and you are a flexitarian, then we recommend that you exclude your personal preferences if not necessary to provide more options with the meal choices.

CAPE TOWN HIGHLIGHTS  The Cape Town stay focuses on some superb culinary experiences and most included lunches and dinners are considered highlights.

AFRICAN SAFARI DINING In the case of safaris most meals are included. While on safari, in some cases the access to fresh fruits and/or vegetables may be limited and one needs to take into account the remote locations of some of the places of accommodation may affect the availability of food variety.

There will be some early mornings where you will have breakfast at 6am before your safari at 7am.  In other cases, you will go on early morning safari starting at 5am and be back at the hotel by 9am where you can relax and enjoy the buffet breakfast.  On any morning that you need to depart early to be on the road and not return to the hotel, a boxed breakfast will be included.

We’ve included a few evenings at your leisure on this itinerary. It’s an opportunity to make your own local discoveries.

Please be sure to advise us at the time of booking of any special dietary requirements. We always do our best to accommodate special diet needs and in most cases, special dietary needs can be meet. However, in some destinations the variety of choice for certain special diets may be limited. If you are concerned please check with us before you book.

GROUP GUIDE Cape Town For the days in Cape Town a local guide is provided. Usually the guide in Cape Town is a different person to the guide for the safari days.

On Safari This is a private group tour and is fully escorted with an English speaking professional safari guide and a safari driver for a group of 8 to 12 passengers. Your guide will provide sightseeing commentary and in addition be the liaison for all tour services. If the group falls below 8 passengers in total then a combined driver-guide will operate the safari.

The role of your guide  to lead the group, take charge of all the trip logistics on tour, and of course, make sure the trip runs as smoothly as possible so ultimately you have the best possible experience. From time to time, as is the nature of travel, ‘hiccups’ can occur, such as unexpected delays to due to traffic congestion, unexpected weather conditions that make a change of plans necessary, and many other things that go hand in hand with travel. In these circumstances your group leader will do their utmost to make the best possible alternative plans – please be ready to accept that these situations are out of the control of anyone and trust in your group leader to assist as best as possible.

TRANSPORT In Cape Town, South Africa While touring Cape Town you will be transported by mini buses.

In Johannesburg For the 2 night stay, a different vehicle is used. It is a minibus.

On Safari From Maun, once on safari, a safari vehicle is used.  From Maun to the safari destination and returning to Maun, an open sided game-viewing vehicle is used. Once departing Maun, for the rest of the tour a 12-seater safari vehicle is used, unless the group is 4 or less passengers and a smaller vehicle is used. As a note, the activities in Chobe are done with the Lodge vehicles (also open safari vehicles).

Boat rides are also included with this itinerary.

LUGGAGE RESTRICTIONS Maximum baggage allowance 15kg A soft bag must be used.

Encounter Travel stipulates this luggage allowance, as an overloaded vehicle is a danger to both the travellers and the guide. Please bring a backpack or soft barrel bag, not a suitcase. Don’t bring too much clothing, as there are washing opportunities along the way. Please adhere to the allowance specified as space for luggage is limited.

This does not include photographic equipment and a small daypack.

Airline Luggage For airline luggage restrictions refer to your ticket details. Please note that the maximum luggage weight for touring may be less than the airline maximum limit.

ABOUT MOBILE PHONE USE / INTERNET  You may like to purchase a prepaid sim card to take with you while travelling. Otherwise, ask your phone provider about International Roaming packages/offers for your mobile phone.

SIM cards or international roaming packages can be good options to keep in touch with friends and family back home.  Be sure the sim card you purchase will cover all the countries you are travelling to.

Many hotels these days offer WiFi—some for free, others for a modest fee.

During the time on Safari, wifi maybe limited in some areas.

WhatsApp If you don’t already use this service, we recommend downloading this application also. It’s a mobile phone App that offers fast, simple, secure messaging and calling for free (data charges may apply – ask your phone provider).

As a general indication, for many of our tours, our guides use WhatsApp to communicate with the group. Visit our  Travel Guide

The perks of solo travel on a group tour

Intrepid Travel local leader in Peru

A local leader

When you’re all by yourself, it’s easy to fall into the typical tourist traps. You wander within a few blocks of your hotel, see a few of the big sights and that’s about it. But solo travel on a group tour isn’t like that. Each of our trips has an expert local leader who knows every backstreet bar, cool tapas joint and hidden gallery. They’ll give you tips for your free time exploring, and introduce you to locals.

Ready-made friends

Ready-made friends

Go solo, but not alone. That’s our motto. The average Intrepid Travel trip has about ten people on it – people of all ages and backgrounds from all over the world. It’s like a hostel dorm room that travels with you (minus the smell and the weird naked guy). You’ve got ready-made friends for a karaoke session in Vietnam, a canoeing adventure in New Zealand or a chat over chai at the breakfast table. For a solo traveller, it’s a nice perk to have.

Cycling through France

Logistics and convenience

We’ve spent the better part of 30 years honing our itineraries, getting rid of the dodgy hotels and keeping the good ones, picking the best restaurants to visit, and organising public transport and all the other logistics of travel so you don’t have to worry. Travelling alone can often be a) confusing and b) complicated. But with us, all you need is a good attitude – we’ll take care of the rest.

Feel safe as part of a group with a local leader

Our leaders know the areas of town to avoid after dark. They know how to haggle at markets, avoid pickpockets and scammers and generally have a good time without anything going wrong. And don’t forget, when you're a single traveller on a group tour, you’re in a group! You’ll have a bunch of new friends to watch your back (and your stuff). It’s all the flexibility and freedom of independent travel, but without the risks.

Solo travel FAQs

Will i have my own room.

It’s completely up to you. On our trips rooming is organised on a twin-share basis and we pair up solo travellers with another traveller of the same gender as per the gender marker on each of their passports. But if you'd like your own room, an individual room is available on the majority of our trips (it’s just a small extra charge). Just mention this to our  customer service team  when booking your trip and they'll arrange it for you.

As a responsible tour operator, we strive to create a safe and inclusive environment for everyone. In the case that your gender identity differs from what is indicated on your passport, please  contact us  so that we can discuss rooming options with you.

On a small selection of itineraries some accommodations are booked on an open gender, multi-share basis (for example on a felucca in Egypt or an overnight train in Vietnam). In those instances it will clearly be stated in our Essential Trip Information prior to booking and travelling.

How does group time work?

Whether you’re travelling solo or with a partner, our trips have a set itinerary. But within that there’s time set aside for your own exploration (if you want to – no pressure). The amount of free time depends on the travel style - you can ask your guide for a few tips then head out alone, or hang out with the group and see where the day takes you.

Do I have to pay for an individual room?

Not if you don’t want to. If you’re happy to bunk with a traveller of the same gender – paired up as per the gender marker on each of their passports – there’s nothing extra to pay on the vast majority of our trips. If you want your own room, just mention it to our customer service team when booking and they can organise an individual room for a small charge.

As a responsible tour operator, we strive to create a safe and inclusive environment for everyone. In the case that your gender identity differs from what is indicated on your passport, please  contact us  so that we can discuss rooming options with you.

I'm new to group travel, what will my group be like?

Intrepid travellers are connected more by attitude than age. They’re a friendly, open-minded and curious bunch, and a lot of them elect to travel alone (so no third-wheeling, we promise). Our trips attract a mix of genders and ages generally range from 25 to 65. It’s hard to know exactly who you’ll meet, but you can be assured you'll be a part of the fun.

Is it cheaper to travel in a group?

On average, solo travel on a group tour is way more cost-effective than heading out on your own as you're splitting the cost (we can also guarantee a lot more inclusions and extras than you’d usually get for your money).

Can I tailor the trip to me?

We have a range of trip styles – Basix, Original and Comfort – that offer different levels of flexibility and free time. While there’s always a set itinerary for the group, our Basix trips tend to have less included activities and more time to do your own thing, Original trips have a 50/50 balance, and our Comfort trips have more included activities. Lots of our travellers choose to travel on their own, so it’s common for people to want different things from their experience. Be sure to chat to your leader ; they can recommend places to explore during free time or things to try after the trip has finished.

Tips for solo travellers

solo travel packages south africa

Embrace local

It pays to learn a little bit of the local language wherever you go and you should always consider the country’s dress code when picking out what to wear. In many places, you maybe be expected to dress modestly and cover up exposed skin so consider packing a sarong or light scarf to cover exposed shoulders, along with a long skirt or trousers. Whether you agree with it or not, it’s respectful (and smart) to follow the local style.

solo travel packages south africa

When you’re out and about being all adventure-y, just keep an eye on the sunset. Try to avoid catching public transport after dark when you’re on your own, especially if you’re carrying your suitcase/backpack/fancy camera/map (it kind of screams ‘tourist’). Travelling with a  group  is a smart move for any traveller; it’s always good to have people around who’ve got your back.

solo travel packages south africa

Social media may be the doom of mankind and rational thought as we know it, but it can be useful, even as a safety tool. Your friends and family are now privy to a minute-by-minute update of your whereabouts, regardless of where you are in the world. Before you leave home, give your friends/family a social media heads-up: ‘If I don’t post a sunset selfie for five days straight, get in touch and see if I’m okay.’

Our solo travel safety guide

Share your itinerary.

Good advice for us all, but particularly for people travelling solo. Make copies of your itinerary, contact details, passport and travel insurance, then email them to yourself and to one or two friends/family at home. Check-in on social media when you can so people can keep track of where you are.

Remember the little things

If you’re arriving late in a city by yourself, book a hotel with a front desk or concierge service (many hotels also offer private transfers that don’t cost the earth from the airport or train station). If you're travelling with us, we can help you organise an arrival transfer. Read your maps  before  you head out for a walk (you can use a map app on your smartphone – or take screenshots of where you’re going if you don’t want to use up your precious data). If you need to check your map when you’re out and about, duck into a shop or café to do it. Leave the blingy jewellery, wedding rings and designer clothes at home, and aim to dress like the locals do – hit up the local markets if you haven’t packed the right outfits. Aim to keep track of travel times, so you’re not caught out after dark.

Roam if you want to

Most mobile/cell providers now offer travel passes to help manage your international roaming costs (which, let’s face it, are expensive!). For a few dollars a day, you’ll have access to data, which means you can log into your apps (like Skype, email and WhatsApp) when you’re out of WiFi zones and quickly get in touch with someone – a friend at home, someone in your group, or the police – if you need to. It might also be worth checking out the local cell/mobile providers as these can be quite cost effective.

Fare's fair

Solo travellers are way more likely to be ‘taken for a ride’ at the airport by unscrupulous taxi drivers, so do your research before you arrive. Make sure you get a cab from the airport/station taxi rank – if you’re not sure where to go, just head to the information desk for help. Touts tend to hang out in the arrivals area and promise cheaper rates, but can often be dodgy. When you get to the cab rank, ask the driver to use the meter or request a cost estimate  before  you hop in the car – if it’s way higher than it should be, pick another vehicle. A lot of airports have train stations attached as well, so consider public transport if you want to save a dollar or two.

Stick together

It’s one of the advantages of travelling solo on a group tour: safety in numbers. The big, 50-person bus groups stand out on the road, but a small Intrepid group of eight or nine people, with a local leader showing the way – including areas to avoid and getting around safely – won’t draw much attention. Plus, it’s a great way to see parts of the world you may feel uncomfortable exploring on your own. If you want to do things on your own, consider a day tour to familiarise yourself with a city and get to know the local way of life.

Trust your instincts

Solo travel is all about confidence. If you’re relaxed and self-assured on the street, you’re more likely to blend in. When you meet new people, don’t assume they’re all out to get you, but be sensible too and trust your gut. If it feels wrong, it probably is. Remember: the popular tourist areas are often the most well-lit and secure, but they’re often a juicier target for pickpockets and scammers. Just use your common sense; half of travel safety is simply being aware of your surroundings.

Where is the best place to travel alone?

We love travelling solo in places like Europe, Canada, Australia, Singapore and Japan, but there are dozens of great places to travel solo around the world. If you want to make new friends and experience new things, you'll love our handcrafted group tours, where you’ll see and experience the best of each destination, while learning new skills like cooking with local chefs and enjoying dinner and storytelling with local families.

Why is solo travel important?

Travelling alone is one of the most enriching experiences you can have. It’s empowering and liberating and will challenge your limits. It helps you get out of your comfort zone, gain confidence, and see the world in a unique way. Solo travel also gives you the opportunity to learn about new cultures, gain new skills, and meet like-minded people who might just become lifelong friends.
