What a jovial and energetic band. Great performance at a somewhat sketchy venue but definitely worth the price of admission x 10. Band was walking through the crowd having beers signing autographs and just having a good time. Can't beat the entertainment these guys provide.

About The Event

It could've been a cold winter day or warm summer night in Finland - but it was around the year 2010. Someone came up with an idea to combine bluegrass, Finnish folk and rock/metal music. The outcome was and has since been Steve'n'Seagulls. The band you didn't know you missed but you do know you want to hear again. Hailing from Finland in Northern Europe - this jolly bunch is riding harder and faster than ever. To put it short: in 2014 the band filmed three live music videos back at the farm. The second one, their new and fresh take on AC/DC classic Thunderstruck took the internet by storm. Suddenly this flock of seagulls found themselves touring around the world, recording an album and touring harder than ever. Since 2014 Steve'n'Seagulls have recorded four studio albums. The debut album Farm Machine (2015) took the band on the road for 170 shows in Europe and North America. They rocked and made their audience smile from small clubs to some of the biggest festivals in Europe. Second album Brothers in Farms (2016) continued to plow the way and took the band all the way to #1 position at the Billboard bluegrass chart. As a first Finnish band ever. They continued touring Europe and North America with a sweaty pace of over 130 shows/year and come 2018 they released their third album Grainsville. As its predecessor, Grainsville included re-arranged classic and original music from Seagulls. Grainsville tour ended up taking the band to three continents and over 180 shows. But when it's going  - It's rollin'. In 2020 Steve 'n' Seagulls released their fourth studio album Another Miracle. Their most ambitious album so far includes half original music and half re-strung classics. And you guessed right - as soon as the pandemic allows - them boys will be on the road in Europe, North America, South America and Australia. So far all four Steve'n'Seagulls albums have hit the album charts in Finland and the Billboard bluegrass chart. Their music videos have gathered close to 280 million views in YouTube alone. They have played on some of the biggest festivals on this earth - including Wacken Open Air, Rescontres Trans Musicales, Nova Rock, Sweden Rock etc. in over 30 countries and on four continents the audiences from small clubs to big venues have witnessed their musical adventures and pure good times. And the flight continues on!!!

Scottie Scheffler reacts before teeing off Friday on during the second round of the 2024 PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Ky. Scheffler was arrested and charged after an interaction early Friday morning with a police officer directing traffic into to the club.

The world's top-ranked golfer, Scottie Scheffler, faces four criminal charges after an interaction with police early Friday morning as he attempted to arrive by car at a Louisville golf club where this week's PGA Championship is being held.

The incident took place at the entrance to the Valhalla Golf Club, where Louisville police had halted traffic Friday morning after an unrelated incident in which a pedestrian — an employee of a vendor working at the golf tournament — had been struck and killed by a shuttle bus.

The Louisville police report, published by local radio station WHAS , said that Scheffler refused to comply with officers directing traffic and dragged an officer with his car.

A lawyer representing Scheffler, Steve Romines, disputed that version of events in an email to NPR.

"He was proceeding as directed by another traffic officer and driving a marked player's vehicle with credentials visible," Romines said. "He stopped immediately upon being directed to and never at any point assaulted any officer with his vehicle."

Scheffler's charges include one felony count of second-degree assault of a police officer, along with three misdemeanors: criminal mischief, reckless driving and disregarding signals from officers directing traffic. An arraignment has been set for Tuesday. Scheffler plans to plead not guilty, Romines said.

In a statement posted to his Instagram, Scheffler said he had never intended to disregard any police instructions.

"It was a very chaotic situation, understandably so considering the tragic accident that had occurred earlier, and there was a big misunderstanding of what I thought I was being asked to do," Scheffler said.

A video recorded by ESPN reporter Jeff Darlington showed a handcuffed Scheffler being led to a police cruiser by two officers. "Right now, he's going to jail," an officer is heard telling Darlington. "He's going to jail, and there ain't nothing you can do about it."

In the police report, the officer involved in the incident, Det. Bryan Gillis, said Scheffler "refused to comply and accelerated forward, dragging [the officer] to the ground." As a result, the report said, Gillis suffered "pain, swelling and abrasions to his left wrist and knee" and was transported to a hospital for treatment.

According to public records, Scheffler was booked by the Louisville Metropolitan Department of Corrections at 7:28 a.m. local time. He was released just over an hour later.

In a statement, the Louisville Metro Police Department said that all traffic lanes at the scene were closed during the investigation into the fatality. "LMPD personnel were also directing traffic around the scene. While an officer was directing traffic, an encounter with a motorist attempting to make entry into a restricted area ultimately led to the driver being arrested. We are in the process of conducting a thorough investigation. We are appreciative that all parties involved are fully cooperating," the department said.

Scheffler, 27, is the world's No. 1 ranked men's golfer and is fresh off a win at last month's Masters Tournament . After his release, Scheffler arrived at the golf club and teed off at 10:08 a.m. as scheduled, then made a birdie on his first hole of the day.

In a statement, the PGA said it was "devastated" to learn of the traffic death that killed a vendor's employee. "This is heartbreaking to all of us involved with the PGA Championship. We extend our sincere condolences to their family and loved ones," the organization said .

The worker had been walking across the main road near the golf club's entry gates when he was hit by the bus, according to Louisville police spokesperson Dwight Mitchell. "Unfortunately, the bus didn't see him and struck the individual. He was pronounced dead on the scene and our traffic unit is investigating at this time," Mitchell said in an interview with WHAS, according to a statement from the PGA.

Steve Perry Signs to New Label, Contemplates Solo Tour: ‘I Miss It Terribly’

By Andy Greene

Andy Greene

Earlier this month, Trev Lukather and Nic Collins’ new band the Effect released their version of Journey ‘s 1986 deep cut “It Could Have Been You” — featuring new vocals by Steve Perry . When Rolling Stone hopped on Zoom to hear how the song came together, Perry told us that he has other projects in the works.

“I just signed with a new label,” Perry says. “I’m very excited about it, and I’ll have an opportunity very soon to work with these very, very musically creative people. I’ll probably announce who I signed with very soon. That’s about as much as I can say, but I’m excited about that, and I am working on stuff.”

“It’s something that I’m absolutely missing terribly,” he continues. “I can’t even tell you how much, but there’s been a big soulful reclaiming of this original feeling that I had about singing that I needed to get back to. I didn’t want to go out and just turn the wheel or turn the crank.”

In his mind, Traces was just one step on a long journey back toward rediscovering his voice after years of not knowing if he’d ever sing again. “My father was a singer that never got a chance to realize his dreams, and I did,” says Perry. “I got to tell him years ago, before he passed, that I was doing this not just for me, but for him too. This is the historical relevance to what I’m going through and rekindling, I think, about me and my voice and touring. [As far as touring again], I never say never at this point. My life has proven me just that.”

Every awful thing trump has promised to do in a second term, the 250 greatest guitarists of all time, the 500 greatest albums of all time, the 50 worst decisions in movie history.

“We don’t just talk about music,” adds Perry. “We talk about what motivates us, what is that deep drive in us that says, ‘This is what you are.’ And to not be what you are is cutting off a limb. I am starting to really feel that.”

The first order of business for Perry is getting into the studio and cutting a follow-up to Traces and his 2021 Christmas record, The Season , for his new label. “These new label people are so supportive,” says Perry. “They said, ‘We don’t care what you do, we just want to do it with you.'”

Trump on restricting access to contraception: ‘we’re looking at that’, the four seasons orlando baby speaks (kind of), kid rock performed 'cowboy' in the bed of a 'general lee' cybertruck.

Watching The Greatest Night in Pop brought memories like that flooding back to Perry, but it also made him a little morose. “I’m sad that can’t happen again today,” he says. “I don’t know if it would be the Effect, Tame Impala, the Killers … I don’t know. I just wish this could happen again today for a great cause. With the times we’re in, it saddens me that the possibility of such a thing seems remote.”

We signed off by telling Perry we continue to hope and dream that he’ll tour. “At this point, I’m also hoping,” Perry says. “And it’s my dream too.”

The homeless attacker who slugged “Boardwalk Empire” actor Steve Buscemi in the eye was sent to jail on $50,000 cash bail at his arraignment Saturday, court records show.

Clifton Williams has been accused of walking up to Buscemi, 66, on Third Avenue in Kips Bay at 11:39 a.m. May 8 and randomly punching the actor , before casually walking away.

Buscemi fell to the ground and suffered “bleeding to his eye, swelling, bruising, and substantial pain,” according to a criminal complaint filed against Williams.

Clifton Williams is led out of the 13th Pct in Manhattan Friday, May 17, 2024, after his arrest for punching actor Steve Buscemi in an unprovoked attack.

Williams, 50, was hit with a felony count of second-degree assault because Buscemi is over 65.

He was also charged with misdemeanor assault for allegedly attacking a 22-year-old Asian man 10 minutes before attacking the “Fargo” star.

The suspect has “significant criminal history in both Kentucky and Florida spanning  many years including assaults and other crime of violence,” Manhattan Assistant District Attorney Elizabeth Barry said during the proceeding in Manhattan Criminal Court.

Wiliams “has been in New York for less than a month,” she added, requesting $100,000 bail.

Williams looks dazed in court.

Judge Marisol Martinez Alonso sent Williams, who stands 6-feet, 2-inches and weighs 197-pounds, to Rikers Island jail on $50,000 cash or $150,000 bond, court records show.

The NYPD identified him from surveillance footage near the site of the attack and had been scouring the city for him, including at a Brooklyn homeless shelter believed to be his last known address, law enforcement sources said.

When cops confronted Williams with the surveillance photo, he admitted he was the man in the photo and copped to both assaults, according to the criminal complaint.

The "Fargo" actor in black rimmed glasses looking slightly away from the camera in a dark jacket with a dark blue and black scarf

Williams, clad in black jeans, a black long sleeve sweat shirt and gray high top shoes, said “Yes, Your Honor” in a loud and clear voice during his court appearance.

In addition to the two May 8 attacks, another man claimed to the The Post that Williams tried to punch him and threatened to kill him around 12:30 Friday, the same day he was arrested,

Plumber Mark Belli said the encounter occurred at 260 11th Avenue, where Belli works.

Williams walked away after the attack on the actor.

“He threw a punch at me,” the 54-year-old said. “I ducked it. He went to kick me and his shoe came off. I took a picture of him because he was chasing me. He said, ‘If I catch you, I’m going to kill you.’”

Belli said Williams has been living in a cardboard box right around the corner from the building and that he was angry someone took his box.

Belli, whose account could not be immediately confirmed, believes the city took it while doing a sweep of homeless people.

He said he snapped a photo of Williams and called 911 to report the harassment and was told to file a report, which he intends to do.

Steve Stricker withdraws from PGA Championship

Change Text Size

Steve Stricker has withdrawn from the PGA Championship, the tournament announced Sunday. He was replaced in the field by Alex Smalley.

There are currently 154 players in the field for the PGA Championship, which begins Thursday at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky. Spots are being held in the field for the winners of the Wells Fargo Championship and Myrtle Beach Classic. If either winner is already exempt for the PGA, then players will get into the PGA off of the alternate list.

Stricker is currently competing in the Regions Tradition. Stricker, the two-time defending champion, held the 36-hole lead but will enter Sunday’s final round in fourth place after shooting 73 on Saturday.

Stricker said earlier in the week that he was undecided if he had the stamina to play the PGA one week after one of PGA TOUR Champions’ majors. Stricker also is scheduled to defend his title at the KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship on May 23-26, one week after the PGA Championship.

“I'd love to be there because it is a big event, but it's a big course,” Stricker, 57, said earlier this week. “I'm tired. I'm old. You know, I know where my place is. I'm gonna assess where I'm at. But I'm kind of leaning towards I'm not going."

Smalley, a second-year PGA TOUR player from Greensboro, North Carolina, is 124th in the FedExCup standings with one top-10 in 14 starts. He is T7 entering Sunday’s final round of the Myrtle Beach Classic.

Stricker’s victory in last year’s Senior PGA Championship got him into the field at Valhalla. The Senior PGA was one of six PGA TOUR Champions victories last year for Stricker, who also won the Charles Schwab Cup.

Stricker played the three previous PGA Championships at Valhalla, finishing T26 in 1996, missing the cut in 2000 and T7 in 2014.

The PGA will be Smalley’s third major championship. He missed the cut in the 2017 U.S. Open while still an amateur, then finished T23 in last year’s PGA.

We’ve upgraded our stage production and performance since the last time there – So let’s play some good old classics, something yet to be released and have a good time !” The band states of their upcoming Lager and life tour 2023     Steve’n’Seagulls is a band from the North – from Finland to be precise. Their music has been described as newgrass, country, rock, bluegrass and progressive bluegrass. And the band states that they are all of this and more. During their live set you’ll find plenty of instruments played on stage. Banjo, accordion, upright bass, drum set, mandolins, acoustic guitar, flute etc change hands – sometimes even during one song. They have played in over 30 countries on four continents. All of their four albums have reached the album chart in Finland and also the Billboard charts in North America. Their second album Brothers in farms became the first Finnish album to reach number 1 position on the Billboard Bluegrass chart. Even though Steve’n’Seagulls are known for their artistic and cheerful renditions of rock and metal classics – they have also introduced their original music on three of their albums.

Scottie Scheffler arrested at PGA Championship, says felony charge 'big misunderstanding'

The world's No. 1 golfer,  Scottie Scheffler , was arrested Friday morning by Louisville Metro Police after what he described as "a big misunderstanding" when he tried to enter Valhalla Golf Club to compete in the PGA Championship .

Scheffler was detained at 6:20 a.m. outside the course and booked into Metro Corrections at 7:28 a.m. on charges of second-degree assault, third-degree criminal mischief, reckless driving and disregarding signals from an officer directing traffic, according to his arrest citation and jail records.

Scheffler was released on personal recognizance and returned to Valhalla Golf Club not long after 9 a.m. Roughly an hour later, he teed off in the second round of the major tournament.

"I still feel like my head is spinning a little bit," Scheffler told reporters after posting a 5-under round that moved him to 9 under. "I was fortunate to be able to make it back out and play some golf today."

Second-degree assault is a Class C felony in Kentucky punishable by between five and 10 years in prison.

According to state law, assault in the second degree occurs when a person either:

  • Intentionally causes serious physical injury to another person
  • Intentionally causes physical injury to another person by means of a deadly weapon or dangerous instrument
  • Wantonly causes serious physical injury to another person by means of a deadly weapon or dangerous instrument.

Scheffler is set to be arraigned at 9 a.m. Tuesday, according to court records.

In the arrest citation, LMPD wrote Scheffler was driving eastbound to enter Valhalla Gate 1 when he pulled into a westbound lane, "where outbound traffic was flowing," to avoid backed-up traffic.

The traffic was due to a fatal accident involving a pedestrian . Around 5 a.m., a man working security for a PGA Championship vendor, John Mills, was struck by a shuttle bus and pronounced dead at the scene.

Scheffler's tee time was initially set for 8:48 a.m., but the accident delayed the start of the second round.

Scheffler's arrest citation says LMPD Detective Bryan Gillis was "in the middle of the westbound lanes, in full LMPD uniform and a hi-visibility yellow reflective rain jacket," when he stopped the golfer and "attempted to give instructions."

Scheffler, the citation says, "refused to comply and accelerated forward, dragging Detective Gillis to the ground. Detective Gillis suffered pain, swelling, and abrasions to his left wrist and knee."

Gillis was transported to a hospital by emergency workers for treatment, the citation says. His uniform pants, which LMPD values at about $80, were "damaged beyond repair."

In a statement released Friday afternoon, LMPD said it was "in the process of conducting a thorough investigation" into the incident and "appreciative that all parties involved are fully cooperating."

The Jefferson County attorney’s office said in a statement Friday afternoon it was "still obtaining information in the case of Mr. Scheffler and will review and proceed accordingly."

Jeff Darlington , an NFL reporter for ESPN who is covering the PGA Championship, was on the scene when LMPD arrested Scheffler. He posted the following video to X, formerly Twitter, of officers leading Scheffler away from Valhalla Golf Club in handcuffs:

Louisville attorney Steve Romines , who is representing Scheffler, told The Courier Journal his client "didn't do anything wrong" and had his credentials visible inside his marked PGA player vehicle.

"He was following the instructions of another traffic control officer and trying to get into the facility to warm up and work out," Romines said.

They'll plead not guilty and litigate the matter "as needed," he added.

Romines is a high-profile attorney who represented Breonna Taylor 's boyfriend, Kenneth Walker , and the family of David McAtee , the barbecue chef who was killed when LMPD and the Kentucky National Guard tried to enforce a curfew in Louisville's West End amid protests over Taylor’s death.

Scheffler posted the following statement about his arrest to his Instagram story before teeing off Friday:

"This morning, I was proceeding as directed by police officers. It was a very chaotic situation, understandably so considering the tragic accident that had occurred earlier, and there was a big misunderstanding of what I thought I was being asked to do," he wrote. "I never intended to disregard any of the instructions. I'm hopeful to put this to the side and focus on golf today.

"Of course, all of us involved in the tournament express our deepest sympathies to the family of the man who passed away in the earlier accident this morning. It truly puts everything in perspective."

Both Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg and Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear used the word "unfortunate" to describe what happened to Scheffler.

"It is unfortunate that an incident took place between an LMPD officer and Mr. Scheffler while he was attempting to enter Valhalla," Greenberg said in a statement. "LMPD is fully investigating this incident and the legal process will proceed. We appreciate everyone's cooperation."

Added Beshear, "The events that occurred (after the fatal collision) are the unfortunate result of this tragic incident, and we are hopeful that all parties involved can come to a resolution."

After his round Friday, Scheffler told reporters he couldn't "comment on any of the specifics" surrounding his arrest.

"My situation will get handled," he said. "It was a chaotic situation."

He did, however, praise the officers he dealt with after he was detained — both on the way to, and while he was detained at Metro Corrections — for helping calm him down.

"I'm grateful that we have such strong police; they're our protectors out there," he said. "We just got into a chaotic situation this morning. That's really all it was."

Mills' death and Scheffler's arrest led many on social media to speculate about what it will mean for Valhalla Golf Club's chances of hosting another PGA Championship.

This is the fourth time the major tournament has come to Louisville; and the city's tourism department said in a statement it "remains committed" to ensuring it won't be the last.

"Louisville has a longstanding track record of successfully hosting world-class sporting events. Sports are simply in the DNA of the city, and the amount of sports-related events we host is a testament to that," the statement says. "Beyond that, we know our community takes great pride in these events and consistently shows up to passionately support them. We hear this time and time again from the groups that have selected Louisville as a venue.

"While we can't lose sight of this morning's tragic loss of life, Louisville Tourism remains committed to working with our many city partners to continue to bring sports tourism to the city."

A 27-year-old New Jersey native, Scheffler is attempting to become the first golfer since Jordan Spieth in 2015 to start a year with back-to-back major championship victories.

He entered the PGA Championship as the oddsmakers' overwhelming favorite, having won four of his last five PGA Tour events — including this year's Masters.

Scheffler is only the third PGA Tour player in the past 30 years — Tiger Woods and Vijay Singh are the others — with a stretch of five consecutive top-two finishes.

Stockholm secret songs: Taylor Swift to perform three acoustic sets for Eras Tour

steve and the seagulls tour

STOCKHOLM — Taylor Swift wrapped up her titanic Eras Tour in the capital of Sweden, bringing her acoustic set to "Swiftholm."

On her final night in Friends Arena, Swift performed a “Max Martin Medley” of songs the Swedish producer and songwriter has worked on with the Eras Tour singer. Starting with “Message In A Bottle” from “Red (Taylor’s Version),” Swift then went into “How You Get The Girl” and “New Romantics” from “1989 (Taylor’s Version).”

”Max is here tonight,” the singer told the record-breaking and sold out show before performing the five plus minute piece on her guitar. She then played “How Did It End?” from “The Tortured Poets Department.”

Celebrating ‘1989’ on night two

For her 89th Eras Tour show, Swift performed “Guilty as Sin” on the guitar from her 11th era album.

Need a break? Play the USA TODAY Daily Crossword Puzzle.

”This is one of my favorites,” Swift said to the stadium of 60,000 fans.

She then played a mash-up of songs from “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” on the piano to celebrate the 89th show of the Eras Tour: “Say Don’t Go,” “Welcome to New York” and “Clean.”

‘One of favorite songs on Tortured Poets’

On night one, Swift mashed-up "I Think He Knows" from "Lover" and "Gorgeous" from "Reputation" on the guitar.

"This one I've never even remotely performed live before," she said at the piano before playing "Peter" from her 11th era. "And it's one of my favorite songs on 'Tortured Poets.' I swore I would only play this one for a crowd that I was absolutely in love with."
