It's the end of an era: Taylor Swift says Eras Tour will end in December

It's the end of an Era(s Tour).

Taylor Swift announced Thursday night during her Eras Tour show in Liverpool, England, that her behemoth concert tour will officially end its unprecedented run in December, presumably after her Dec. 6-8 shows at the BC Palace in Vancouver, British Columbia.

"This is the very first time I've ever acknowledged to myself and admitted that this tour is gonna end in December. Like, that's it," Swift said in a speech onstage during the "Red" set.

"That feels like so far away from now, but then again, it feels like we just played our first show on this tour because you have made this so much fun for us that we wanted to do 100 shows, 150-something shows that we have on the whole tour," she continued.

Swift said the Eras Tour has "become my entire life" and "taken over everything," including her hobbies, which have been replaced with sitting at home and trying "to think of clever, like, acoustic song mashups and think about what you might want to hear" during the "surprise song" set of her show.

From the stage, Swift also acknowledged that Thursday's show was the 100th on the Eras Tour ( on June 13, no less ). She called the experience the "most exhausting, all-encompassing but most joyful, most rewarding, most wonderful thing that has ever happened in my life, this tour, these moments with you."

The Eras Tour, which started March 17, 2023, in Glendale, Arizona, has spanned five continents. When the tour wraps, Swift will have performed 152 shows. The tour has broken records and yielded (a few versions of) a concert tour movie that broke records in its own right .

Thursday's comments were the first time Swift has announced an end date to her beloved Eras Tour, which she had been adding dates to over the last year.

It’s unclear what she will be up to next, but any true Swiftie knows it’s sure to be enchanting.

Swift continues her European run this weekend in Liverpool before a rare Tuesday show in Cardiff, Wales, followed by shows in London next week.

Taylor Swift's Eras Tour: All the U.S. and international dates and opening acts

ten eras tour

Taylor Swift opened the Eras Tour at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona — which rebranded itself as "Swift Cit y" for the March 17 and 18 concerts — with a triumphant return to live performance as the first act in the history of that venue to sell out two nights on the same tour.

By that point, she'd already broken the all-time record for most concert tickets sold by an artist in a single day and passed Madonna's Sticky & Sweet Tour as the highest-grossing tour in history by a female artist.

And Swift rose to the occasion , leading her band through a marathon 44-song set that lasted more than three hours while delivering on her promise of "a journey through all of my musical eras."

So what does she do for an encore? Here's where the Eras Tour is headed next, adding two surprise songs to the set at each show. Here's a look at what she's played so far .

Eras Tour Openers: What To Know About Taylor Swift’s 10 Opening Acts

Sabrina Carpenter will be joining Swift at her international tour stops.

Who Are Taylor Swift's Eras Tour Openers? 9 Opening Acts & Dates: Paramore, HAIM, Phoebe Bridgers, b...

Taylor Swift has always been ahead of her time when it comes to selecting her opening acts. In 2013, she had collaborator Ed Sheeran open for her on the Red Tour before he blew up to superstardom. The same thing happened to Shawn Mendes after he was an opening act on the 1989 World Tour in 2015, and Charli XCX’s profile only rose after 2017’s Reputation Stadium Tour . So, it should come as no surprise to Swifties that Swift’s openers for the Eras Tour , her first trek in more than five years, are a who’s who of today’s most beloved artists and soon-to-be stars.

Rather than bring one or two artists to open every date as with her past tours, Swift has assembled an army of up-and-coming musicians and Grammy nominees, spreading them across the tour. Paramore, HAIM, Phoebe Bridgers, beabadoobee, MUNA, girl in red, GAYLE, Gracie Abrams, OWENN, and Sabrina Carpenter will all be opening for different dates on tour. In fact, if fans wanted to catch them all, you’d have to go to at least six different shows across the country — and then all the way to Latin America to see Carpenter in action.

Tickets were hard enough to get for one Eras Tour show, so if you’re one of the lucky Swifties who obtained seats, you need to know who’s going to perform on your date. This guide to Swift’s 10 Eras Tour opening acts will give everything you need to know, including each artist’s notable songs and their own connections to the 12-time Grammy winner.

Swift is kicking off the Eras Tour with a bang, having platinum-selling band Paramore open for the first two shows. Swift has been friends with lead singer Hayley Williams for quite some time, having her star in the “Bad Blood” video and bringing her out to sing “That’s What You Get” on the Speak Now Tour, and their friendship will only grow when Paramore also joins the European leg of the tour.

“Having Paramore join me on tour is such an honor,” Swift told Billboard in January. “We came up alongside each other as Nashville teenagers writing our own music, so it feels insanely special to kick off the tour together nearly two decades later.”

In May 2022, Swift posted a TikTok of her getting ready to make her NYU commencement speech, set to the tune of beabadoobee’s dreamy and bittersweet “See You Soon.” Swifties should’ve caught it as an Easter Egg, because the Filipino-British songwriter , who is labelmates with one of Swift’s favorite bands The 1975, will probably sing that ballad at her Eras Tour shows .

“I remember telling an interviewer that my dream support was Taylor Swift, and then I got a call from my manager saying she wants you to go on tour with her,” she told The Times in February. “I messaged all my girlfriends, ‘Guess f*cking what…’”

In October 2022, MUNA covered Swift’s folklore fan favorite “august” for Spotify’s “Live at Electric Lady” series. Just a couple weeks later, the proudly queer synth-pop band, who are signed to fellow opening act Bridgers’ label, were announced as one of the Eras Tour openers . It will be Katie Gavin, Josette Maskin, and Naomi McPherson’s biggest slot to date, after opening for Kacey Musgraves’ Star-crossed Unveiled Tour and Lorde’s Solar Power Tour.

“We were just starting to make music in college when 1989 came out,” McPherson recalled to Variety . “I remember a friend of mine gave me Fearless on a flash drive, and I was obsessed with ‘Fifteen’ and in my feelings.”

After collaborating with Swift on her Red (Taylor’s Version) “From the Vault” track “Nothing New” in 2021, Bridgers is taking the next step in their musical partnership by opening for Swift, even taking a small break from her supergroup boygenius for the Eras Tour. The duo has constantly praised each other’s catalogs, with Bridgers calling Swift’s music “high art” on Charli XCX’s radio show Best Song Ever . “She’s like the king of her craft,” she said. “She’s just a perfect example of someone who uses all the resources at her disposal to be completely genuine.”

Swift has a special fondness for the color red, so it’s no surprise that she quickly became a fan of girl in red , supporting her debut album If I Could Make It Go Quiet on her Instagram Story in May 2021, which would also double as a hint about Red (Taylor’s Version) . The emerging artist said that Swift even sent her an email that was as long as a “f*cking book.” “I was like, ‘I love you so much... you’re my everything,’” she told iHeartRadio.

Swift and the HAIM sisters have a long history. The band appeared as opening acts for a few shows on the 1989 World Tour, and they’ve all stayed close friends ever since, with Swift often joking that she’s the fourth Haim sister . Their musical partnership has grown as well, with HAIM lending story inspiration and background vocals on Swift’s evermore track “no body, no crime,” and Swift returning the favor for a remix of their 2020 song “Gasoline.” At this point, the Eras Tour is just another fun reunion.

Gayle probably wouldn’t say “abcdefu” directly to Swift, but she will be singing it with thousands of people at the Eras Tour. After releasing her two-part EP A Study of the Human Experience and landing her first Grammy nomination in 2022, Swift has now given Gayle a new feat to check off her list.

She’ll technically be the first person overall to perform on the Eras Tour, as she’s the first opener on opening night. “It just means the world to me,” she said on Apple Music 1 on March 10. “I had no clue what I was going to do this year. I was like, ‘Oh my God, I had the best year of my life. What am I going to do next year?’ And she was like, ‘Here’s something to add to your calendar.’”

After opening for Olivia Rodrigo’s Sour Tour and making her debut album Good Riddance with Swift’s folklore and evermore collaborator Aaron Dessner, the indie-pop singer is now slated to play the most shows of all Eras Tour openers.

“She’s as spectacular a person and friend as she is an artist, writer, director,” Abrams told Billboard in February. “She’s really that great. To be able to lean on her in any capacity really means a lot. I’m so stoked to watch her crush it every single night. To see her up close in that way and be able to study that is the greatest gift.”

Owenn opens for John Legend at Lucca Summer Festival on July 09, 2022 in Lucca, Italy.

While OWENN may not be an immediate familiar face, you’ve seen him before without even realizing it. He starred in Swift’s 2019 “Lover” video as the titular lover, and before then, he got his start as a dancer and choreographer for the likes of Beyoncé, Miley Cyrus, Lil Nas X, and Swift. After Swift helped him get signed to Republic Records, he’s putting his music career in the spotlight as the only male opening act on the Eras Tour. “I cried like a little baby,” he told iHeartRadio about his reaction to finding out he’d be an opener.

Carpenter is one of pop music’s fastest-rising stars, with her fifth album Emails I Can’t Send breaking her out of the Disney mold and becoming her highest-charting record. The singer doesn’t have a huge public history with Swift, aside from attending the Eras Tour in Philadelphia, but her reaction to joining the Latin American shows proves she’s been a Swiftie all along.

Taking to Twitter, Carpenter shared a screenshot of a tweet she wrote after attending the Fearless Tour in 2010, alongside the Latin American tour poster. “Trying to process this but alas i shant,” she wrote. “Thank u @taylorswift13 u the 1 :’) this is the dreamiest dream come true.”

The 25 Best Moments From Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour

By Rolling Stone

Rolling Stone

From the moment it broke Ticketmaster, the world knew Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour would become the biggest of the year. Now, it’s on track to become the biggest pop music event of the next two years thanks to multiple international legs that wrap up back in North America next fall. Swift has not only been performing to sold out crowds in each stadium, but also to more thousands of ticketless fans hovering outside of venues or watching on social media from home.

She’s not even close to halfway through the tour, but she has already gone above and beyond her fans’ expectations thanks to multiple surprises, major announcements and special guest appearances that have made the tour’s first leg across the United States a major success. In honor of that historic run — and in chronological order — here are the best moments of Swift’s Eras Tour so far. Baby, let the games begin.

We Find Out The Show Is 3 Hours Long

Along with the thousands of fans packed into Glendale’s State Farm Stadium for the first night of Eras Tour, there were even more watching the show from grainy Instagram and TikTok Lives. Swifties around the globe had no idea what to expect from the pop star’s new live show; she had released four albums of original music since her last tour in 2018, as well as re-recorded versions of two previous albums. Would she focus on 2022’s Midnights ? Would Folklore and Evermore even work in a stadium setting? Everyone was in for a treat as the night unfolded into 3.5 hours of Swift running through sets for all but her debut album (which did get some love during the surprise song portion that night). It felt like a fever dream for fans, making the Ticketmaster debacle even more worth the anxiety than anyone could have anticipated. –B.S.

Her ‘First Bridge of the Evening’ Speech

Every night this summer, just to seal our fate, Taylor has made a celebration out of the “Cruel Summer” bridge. As she declares, just a few minutes into the show: “We have arrived at the very first bridge of the evening! Now I would prefer that we cross it together!” A perfect invitation from a songwriter who has always made a specialty of her middle-eights. Later in the show, another highlight is when she does the “Illicit Affairs” bridge—not the rest of the song, just the “Don’t call me kid! Don’t call me baby!” chant in the middle. Who else could get away with that? We can’t wait for Taylor’s “Bridges Tour”—just four hours of her bridges. –R.S.

‘Cruel Summer’ Becomes a Top 10 Hit

taylor swift eras tour metlife

Hey, any artist can score a hit in the middle of a tour. But the trick is crashing the Top Ten with a fan-fave deep cut that’s four years old. Fans always wondered why “Cruel Summer” wasn’t a single—it sounded like the great lost hit from  Lover , the would’ve-could’ve-should’ve summer jam of 2019. But a year later, the world was in  Folklore  Mode and “Cruel Summer” got left behind—that hit that slipped away like a bottle of wine. Until now. Just in time for Eras Tour, she finally dropped it as a single. “Cruel Summer” blew up into her 41st Top Ten hit in July, reaching #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #1 on the Pop Airplay chart. A very Swiftian redemption arc for this perfect pop banger—ain’t that the worst thing you ever heard? –R.S.

Taylor’s Speech Defending Her Love For ‘Evermore’

GLENDALE, ARIZONA - MARCH 17: Editorial use only and no commercial use at any time. No use on publication covers is permitted after August 9, 2023. Evermore is to Folklore as Radiohead’s Amnesiac is to Kid A ; it’s the sister album that will always be pitted against its elder sibling. And there’s no Swiftie like an Evermore Swiftie. The album’s true fans will defend it to the grave, champagne problems and all. Fans were absolutely convinced Swift didn’t like Evermore when she didn’t commemorate its one-year anniversary on social media. But Taylor is always listening, and she wasted no time debunking this rumor, addressing it on night one of the Eras tour in Glendale, Arizona. “We’re currently in the middle of the Evermore album,” she told the crowd after “Marjorie.” “Which is an album I absolutely love, despite what some of you say on TikTok.” How’s that for some closure? –A.M.

The Lengthy Ovations After ‘Champagne Problems’

It happens every night. Taylor sits alone at the piano for “Champagne Problems,” her first solo performance of the night—and it always brings out the beast in the crowd. It’s a moment where the audience literally stops the show to scream, for minutes on end, leaving poor Taylor with no way to move on. In L.A. last week the ovation kept going for 8 minutes. (Never change, L.A.—you are the Dorothea of cities.) Since she doesn’t do a standard encore break, this is the crowd’s chance to grab the mic and go full blast—an unorthodox but totally organic moment. Like so many details of the Swiftian live experience, it’s a fan-created phenomenon that takes on a life of its own. It’s also proof that as far as the Eras Tour is concerned, sorry, but Evermore is more Era than any other Era. –R.S.

Marcus Mumford Sings ‘Cowboy Like Me’ In Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA - MARCH 25: (EDITORIAL ONLY, NO COVERS) Marcus Mumford (R) performs with Taylor Swift during night two of Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour on March 25, 2023 in Las Vegas, Nevada. (Photo by TAS Rights Management via Getty Images)

Taylor knew “Cowboy Like Me” was special the minute she wrote it — who else could get away with a line like “Some tent-like thing” and make it sound magical? She knew she was sitting on a 21st century “Desperado,” beloved by everyone from Maya Hawke to Maggie Rogers . The Western lullaby was recorded at Marcus Mumford’s Scarlet Pimpernel Studios, and he even provided backing vocals. So it was only right that he join her on the Evermore track’s live debut, early into the tour in Las Vegas on March 25. “Would you sing ‘Cowboy Like Me’ with me?” she asked. Mumford, who’d already performed it more than 50 times on his own tour , happily obliged .–A.M.

Taylor Replaces ‘Invisible String’ with ‘The 1’

ARLINGTON, TEXAS - MARCH 31: EDITORIAL USE ONLY Taylor Swift performs onstage during the "Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour" at AT&T Stadium on March 31, 2023 in Arlington, Texas. (Photo by Omar Vega/TAS23/Getty Images for TAS Rights Management )

In Swiftworld, few things happen without a reason, hidden or not. So when the fate-brought-us-together ballad “Invisible String” vanished from the Eras Tour setlist, replaced by the perfectly wistful masterpiece “The 1,” from the same album, it probably should’ve raised more eyebrows in the moment. Instead, it took certain headlines about Swift’s personal life, a week later, to make full sense of the very welcome swap.- -B.H.

The ‘And Take Her Home’ Note In ‘The 1’

CINCINNATI, OHIO - JUNE 30: EDITORIAL USE ONLY Taylor Swift performs onstage during "Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour " at Paycor Stadium on June 30, 2023 in Cincinnati, Ohio. (Photo by Taylor Hill/TAS23/Getty Images for TAS Rights Management )

Nobody, absolutely nobody, was complaining that “The 1” wasn’t heartbreaking enough. But for the live version, Taylor throws in The Note, for the kill. As she sings “The 1” on the mossy roof of her Folklore Cottage of Solitude, she adds that extra spice to the line, “You meet some woman on the internet and taaake her home.” As far as we’re concerned, this note is now “The 1” canon. The original Folklore version already sounds weird without it. –R.S.

Aaron Dessner’s Surprise Song Appearances

TAMPA, FLORIDA - APRIL 14: EDITORIAL USE ONLY Taylor Swift and Aaron Dessner perform onstage during "Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour" at Raymond James Stadium on April 14, 2023 in Tampa, Florida. (Photo by Octavio Jones/TAS23/Getty Images for for TAS Rights Management)

When Aaron Dessner from the National came out in Tampa to bless the Eras Tour stage for the first time, Swifties in the stands and watching on live streams at home knew they were all in for a devastating set of Dessner-produced tracks. From an acoustic version of “The Great War,” to the poignant piano ballad “Mad Woman,” Dessner and Swift shined together on these stripped down versions of beloved songs. But the real kicker was “Would’ve, Could’ve, Should’ve,” with Dessner jamming along on guitar and the entire Nissan Stadium screaming with Swift as she sang, “give me back my girlhood/ it was mine first!.” It was truly a moment for the history books. –M.G.

Taylor announces ‘Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)’ in Nashville

NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE - MAY 05: EDITORIAL USE ONLY Taylor Swift performs onstage during night one of Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour at Nissan Stadium on May 05, 2023 in Nashville, Tennessee. (Photo by John Shearer/TAS23/Getty Images for TAS Rights Management)

Nashville turned purple when Swift decided to announce the release of Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) during her Eras tour stop in her hometown on May 5. In typical Swiftian fashion, the singer used a play on words to reveal the album would be in July in the midst of her performance. “I think rather than me speaking about it, I thought I would show you, so if you would direct your attention,” she told an audience of screaming fans , while directing their attention to Nissan Stadium’s screens which featured the album cover and its release date. But Swift wasn’t done: She surprised fans by launching into a performance of “Sparks Fly.” And, oh, did they fly. –I.K.

Nashville Also Gets The First Rain Show of The Eras Tour

FOXBOROUGH, MASSACHUSETTS - MAY 20: (EDITORIAL USE ONLY, NO COVERS) Taylor Swift performs during The Eras Tour at Gillette Stadium on May 20, 2023 in Foxborough, Massachusetts. (Photo by TAS Rights Management/Getty Images)

There is arguably nothing more Swiftian than rain; it’s a signature element to her lyrics. Swift used to play “Should’ve Said No” in a makeshift downpour on stage, and her first headlining rain show at Gillette Stadium is a thing of Swiftie folklore (it apparently inspired the fan-ode “Long Live”). Everyone was eagerly refreshing their weather apps to see if they’d be the Eras Tour stop to witness Taylor come in with the rain. Nashville night 3 got especially lucky. After lightning delayed the start of the show for several hours, Swift weathered the storm along with her hometown crowd. She was so drenched she compared herself to a “river otter” — and still put on one hell of a show that didn’t end until nearly 2 a.m. –M.G.

Tour Opener Phoebe Bridgers Sings Vault Duet ‘Nothing New’

NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE - MAY 06: EDITORIAL USE ONLY Phoebe Bridgers and Taylor Swift perform onstage during night two of Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour at Nissan Stadium on May 06, 2023 in Nashville, Tennessee. (Photo by John Shearer/TAS23/Getty Images for TAS Rights Management)

On the first night in Nashville , Swift invited Phoebe Bridgers (“one of my favorite artists”) to perform their Red (Taylor’s Version) collaboration “Nothing New,” and emotions were running high. They were clearly both psyched to be sharing the stage: right before the song’s prophetic bridge, Swift laughed and mouthed “oh my god” while Bridgers shook her head in disbelief at the fact she was singing with one of her idols. At that moment, more than a few concertgoers had their inner child healed. It was so powerful that Swift snuck their performance into the set during every tour stop that Boygenius opened. –M.G.

The ‘Karma’ Video Premiere During the First New York Show

(Photo by Kevin Mazur/TAS23/Getty Images for TAS Rights Management)

Fans attending Swift’s three night stint at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey (which technically also counts as her New York tour dates, for surprise-song purposes) knew they were in for some unexpected highlights even before the first show kicked off. Leading up to that night, Swift announced the release of Midnights (Til Dawn) , an expanded version of her 2022 album that included a remix of “Karma,” featuring buzzy new rapper Ice Spice. In the middle of the show, Swift did more than shout out the new release: she decided to debut the “Karma” video in the middle of her set. Swift and her dancers sat on the stage to watch the video, which premiered on YouTube soon after. –B.S.

Jack Antonoff Appears For A Surprise ‘Getaway Car’

After Aaron Dessner made appearances earlier in the tour to perform with Swift during her surprise song sets, it was only a matter of time before Jack Antonoff did the same. Fittingly, it occurred on the first night of her New York shows, which were in Antonoff’s home state of New Jersey. Even better, his appearance ticked “Getaway Car” off the surprise song list, with Antonoff playing guitar on the Reputation cut and fan favorite. –B.S.

Ice Spice Appears Onstage For ‘Karma’ Remix

A “Karma” video premiere wasn’t enough for Swift as she celebrated Midnights (Til Dawn) over the course of her weekend in New York. She added an extra dose of excitement to show closer “Karma” when she invited Ice Spice out to perform the remix with her three nights in a row. The pair were a match made in pop heaven on stage together, with the 23-year-old rapper commanding the crowd perfectly next to the headliner. It didn’t take a lot for the two stars to make “Karma” a massive success, so it came as no surprise that the song shot up the charts a week later. –B.S.

Two Lucky Audiences Get to Hear ‘Clean’

ARLINGTON, TEXAS - MARCH 31: EDITORIAL USE ONLY Taylor Swift performs onstage during the "Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour" at AT&T Stadium on March 31, 2023 in Arlington, Texas. (Photo by Omar Vega/TAS23/Getty Images for TAS Rights Management )

Back in February, Gracie Abrams told Rolling Stone that her favorite 1989 track was “Clean.” Fast forward to April 1st: Taylor Swift made good on a request from Abrams to play the track after her first night opening shows on Swift’s stadium run. “I will remember this feeling in my bones for the rest of my life,” Abrams wrote on Instagram. And if “Clean” stans weren’t satisfied enough, Swift played the song again on the second night of her New Jersey stop, claiming with a smirk that she “could have played it in a higher key” as a way to avoid violating her rule about not repeating surprise songs. A worthy rare repeat for a classic 1989   track. –W.A.

The First Performance of ‘Dear John’ In 11 Years

KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI - JULY 08: (EDITORIAL USE ONLY) Taylor Swift performs onstage during night two of Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium on July 08, 2023 in Kansas City, Missouri. (Photo by Fernando Leon/TAS23/Getty Images for TAS Rights Management)

With the surprise songs section of the Eras Tour, fans were anxiously awaiting the night when Swift would break out “Dear John,” her scathing anthem allegedly written about her ex John Mayer. With the release of Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) , Swiftie anticipation hit a fever pitch. Then, on June 24 in Minneapolis, they got their wish— hearing it live for the first time in 11 years . But with the performance of the song, Swift also had a disclaimer for her fans: She reminded them to consider “kindness and gentleness” when interacting online. “I’m 33 years old. I don’t care about anything that happened to me when I was 19 except the songs I wrote,” Swift added. “So what I’m trying to tell you is that I’m not putting this album out so you should feel the need to defend me on the internet against someone you think I might have written a song about 14 billion years ago.” In short, there’s no reason to be “mean.” –I.K.

Opener Gracie Abrams Gets Invited To Sing ‘I Miss You I’m Sorry’ With Taylor

CINCINNATI, OH - JULY 01: (EDITORIAL ONLY, NO COVERS.) Taylor Swift and Gracie Abrams perform during night two of "Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour" at Paycor Stadium on July 1, 2023 in Cincinnati, Ohio. (Photo by TAS2023 via Getty Images)

What’s better than two surprise songs at an Eras Tour show? Three! At her July 1 date in Cincinnati, Swift not only debuted Evermore track “Ivy” and Reputation cut “Call It What You Want” for the first time in five years, but she shared the stage with Gracie Abrams and Aaron Dessner for a performance of her tour opener’s track “I Miss You, I’m Sorry.” While Abrams’ ballad is stunning on its own, Swift stole the show by alternating verses with the Good Riddance singer. –I.K.

That Taylor Lautner Cartwheel

KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI - JULY 07: (EDITORIAL USE ONLY) (L-R) Taylor Swift, Joey King and Taylor Lautner speak onstage for night one of Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium on July 07, 2023 in Kansas City, Missouri. (Photo by John Shearer/TAS23/Getty Images for TAS Rights Management)

Even though he is one of Swift’s better exes, Lautner’s inserting himself into the Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) conversation on social media (remember #prayingforjohn?) wasn’t a perfectly smooth process. But that didn’t stop Swift from bringing him out in Kansas City for a very cool and very full circle moment punctuated by a cartwheel that would have turned a less-athletic person’s bones to dust. Lautner told The Today Show that the cartwheel wasn’t planned, making it all that more impressive. Despite the seeming spontaneity of his on-stage acrobatics, the move did have some resemblance to the flip Lautner did in the 2010 flick Valentine’s Day , in which he co-starred with Swift. A reach? Maybe, but it’s very cool to see Lautner and Swift still in touch (Swift called Lautner and his wife “close friends”). Just maybe cool it on the #prayingfor TikToks.- -W.A.

‘I Can See You’ Video Premiere In Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI - JULY 07: (EDITORIAL USE ONLY) Taylor Swift performs onstage for night one of Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium on July 07, 2023 in Kansas City, Missouri. (Photo by John Shearer/TAS23/Getty Images for TAS Rights Management)

During her tour stop in Kansas City on July 7 — the release date of Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) — Swift surprised fans by premiering the heist-themed music video for “I Can See You,” which featured Taylor Lautner, Joey King and Presley Cash trying to steal her third album. It was one of the meta reunions for the “I Can See You” stars — King and Cash co-starred in the music video for “Mean,” while “Back to December” was allegedly about Swift’s breakup with Lautner. Of course, fans went wild when Swift sang Lautner’s praises to the Kansas City audience: “He was a very positive force in my life when I was making the ‘Speak Now’ album, and I want to say he did every single stunt that you saw in that music video. He and his wife have become some of my closest friends, and it’s very convenient because we all share the same first name.” –I.K.

‘Long Live’ Is Added To The Setlist

KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI - JULY 07: (EDITORIAL USE ONLY) Taylor Swift performs onstage for night one of Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium on July 07, 2023 in Kansas City, Missouri. (Photo by John Shearer/TAS23/Getty Images for TAS Rights Management)

The Eras Tour is as grandiose and impactful as any victory lap we’ve seen an artist put on in recent memory. The tour pulls on the nostalgia heartstrings — yes, there’s a percentage of fans who who tapped in when Folklore dropped, but there’s a great many more diehards who’ve been through middle school, high school, and college with Ms. Swift. That’s why hearing the “tell them how the crowds went wild/tell them how I hope they shine” in “Long Live” hits so hard. Even cooler: Swift is using the koi fish guitar from the Speak Now era . It’s funny to think about Swift writing such an anthemic ode to her career…in 2010. If only she knew there were thousands of sold out shows, a handful of Grammys, and hundreds of broken records to come. “Tell ’em how the crowds went wild” — they still are. –W.A.

‘Last Kiss,’ July 8th

KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI - JULY 08: (EDITORIAL USE ONLY) Taylor Swift performs onstage during night two of Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium on July 08, 2023 in Kansas City, Missouri. (Photo by Fernando Leon/TAS23/Getty Images for TAS Rights Management)

When “Last Kiss” finally had its moment as a surprise song on July 8, you could hear the cries of Speak Now girlies heard round the world. Officially named “the saddest song [she’s] ever written” by Ms. Fountain Pen herself, Swift performed the somber track on her famous koi fish guitar and was so excited she forgot the lyrics and had to start over several times. Swift finally sang “that July 9th/The beat of your heart” with a small smirk because it was, in fact, July 8th that night — a sweet nod to the heart-wrenching moment in the song. –M.G.

Haim Appears Onstage For ‘No Body, No Crime’ In Seattle

INGLEWOOD, CALIFORNIA - AUGUST 09: EDITORIAL USE ONLY. (L-R) Este Haim, Taylor Swift, Danielle Haim and Alana Haim perform onstage during "Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour" at SoFi Stadium on August 09, 2023 in Inglewood, California. (Photo by Kevin Winter/TAS23/Getty Images for TAS Rights Management)

On July 22, Swift’s murder ballad “No Body, No Crime” got its shining moment in Seattle when the singer brought out Haim to perform on their collaboration. Even better, their Evermore highlight wasn’t even one of the surprise songs of the evening: It was just a setlist swap for “Tis the Damn Season.” While it might be a coincidence—though with Swift it rarely is—they joined forces at Lumen Field exactly one year and a day after Swift shocked London fans by teaming up with the sisters for a “Gasoline”-”Love Story” mash-up. –I.K.

Taylor Gives ’22’ Hat to Kobe Bryant’s Daughter

Swift’s grace and generosity are now legendary . During her So-Fi Stadium show in Los Angeles on Aug. 3, the pop star gifted her Red -era bowler hat to Kobe and Vanessa Bryant’s daughter, Bianka during a performance of “22.” The sweet moment, which featured Swift hugging her and placing the hat on the six-year-old girl’s head, went viral, of course. It was one of those memories that we’ll be holding onto for a long time. –I.K.

The Dramatic Unveiling of 1989 (Taylor’s Version) On 8/9

Long before Eras Tour began, fans were racking their Easter egg-ridden brains to figure out which of Swift’s first six albums would be the next re-record to drop. Rightfully, many had been going back-and-forth on Speak Now and 1989 , and those who guessed the former were proven correct early in the tour. But Swift seemed to be dropping a suspicious number of hints at the possibility of more music, including several studio sightings on her off days. Ending the first US leg of Eras on 8/9 in Los Angeles also felt a little too on the nose. Thankfully, this time, everyone had decoded correctly. Swift unveiled 1989 (Taylor’s Version) in the most Taylor way possible, wearing blue versions of each Eras costume, a nod to the adopted color for 1989 . She finally revealed the new cover and release date after singing fan-favorite bonus track “New Romantics” during the surprise-song set, a perfect end to the first leg of this lengthy, massive trek .–B.S.

Where To Watch ‘Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour’

'kalki 2898 ad' review: this ambitious sci-fi epic builds a world worth seeing, 'drawing closer' review: a netflix j-drama with a clever twist.

In the opening moments of Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour , Taylor Swift , talking to the sold-out crowd at Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium, says that the crowd makes her feel powerful. By just pointing her finger, Swift makes segments of the audience go absolutely wild, screaming with excitement, until the entire crowd bursts into noise, pumped at just being in the same stadium as Swift. From the first full song, “Cruel Summer,” it’s easy to feel the exhilaration of the tens of thousands of fans in attendance, as Swift reveals she’s going to go through her 17-year career and 10 albums, split up into the different eras of her work so far. Since The Eras Tour began in March of this year, it has been heralded with rave reviews, sold-out dates, and a tremendous encapsulation of Swift’s career. For such a major accomplishment—which will likely go down as one of the highest-grossing tours in history— Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour is a perfect way to ensure this incredible performance is cemented into history, and an excellent way to revisit this tour or get to see it without spending hundreds of dollars.

Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour is a straightforward concert film, simply documenting what the experience of seeing this tour would be like. If you want a deeper look into Swift’s career, there’s already Miss Americana , or if you want a look at her creative process, you have Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions . But this is all that The Eras Tour really needs: to bring this massive concert to people around the world—nothing more, nothing less. But what this concert is is nothing short of astounding, a nearly 3-hour exploration of every period of Swift that somehow feels like it flies by, but also reminds that her career is so exceptional that 3 hours simply isn’t enough to summarize it all.

'The Eras Tour' Is an Incredible Feat

The idea of The Eras Tour almost shouldn’t work: all ten of Swift’s albums have their own tone, style, and viewpoints, and connecting them all into one show seems almost impossible. Yet even though some of these songs were written two decades ago, all of these songs fit into the larger aesthetic and thematic story that Swift and The Eras Tour is telling. It never feels odd when Swift seamlessly transitions from a Fearless track into the more restrained songs from evermore , or going from the overt poppiness of Red right into the quieter folklore tunes. The whole setlist flows beautifully from one segment of Swift’s career to the next. This doesn’t sound like disparate songs from the almost two decades of Swift’s history, these all sound like individual chapters in the story that makes Swift who she is.

Even more shocking is how Swift makes every “era” feel like a separate concert, each with its own vibes and unique sound. For fans of the uninitiated, The Eras Tour becomes a testament to the many multitudes Swift contains, and how different each of these albums truly is from the last. On a presentation point alone, The Eras Tour is gargantuan and spectacular. This is a concert in which an entire cabin might appear on stage out of nowhere, backup dancers ride bikes around that leave neon markings behind, and a moment where Swift seems to dive and swim into the stage. Not only does each era have its own style, but each song brings something new to the table, whether it’s a projection of leaves falling down or an intricate dance. At times, The Eras Tour almost reminds of Stop Making Sense , in terms of how each song is able to stand on its own through some brilliant choice.

Get your friendship bracelets ready as the iconic 'Eras Tour' heads out of the stadium and onto the big screen.

Director Sam Wrench , who has directed concert films like Billie Eilish: Live at the O2 and BTS: Permission to Dance on Stage - LA , brings the audience closer than they could be to Swift—even if they saw her live—and knows exactly how to present these songs. For example, with the Reputation track “Look What You Made Me Do,” Wrench directs the performance with all the gravitas and weight that it inherently has. Whereas with a song like “All Too Well (10 Minute Version),” he knows that all he needs to do is focus on Swift, her guitar, and her staggering performance, and for all ten minutes, it’s hard not to be rapt in every line Swift is singing. Considering just how much that is always happening on the stage, from constant set shifting to costume changes and grand technical choices, it’s remarkable that Wrench is able to showcase everything that makes this concert so special through his camera.

Is 'The Eras Tour' Worth It For Non-Swifties?

But let’s be honest: before you started reading this review, you probably knew if Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour was for you or not. Does the idea of watching Swift go through her hits on stage for three hours sound interesting to you? Yes? Then you’re probably already one of the $100 million in pre-sold tickets that have already been made. But is there anything in The Eras Tour for non-Swifties? To be fair, quite a bit. It’s hard to not be impressed by the sheer scale and scope of what Swift has created here, and it’s shocking that The Eras Tour is able to accomplish everything it’s setting out to do without fail. But even for non-fans, it’s hard to equally not be impressed by how many directions Swift’s career has already gone down, and there’s almost certainly a song for everyone here. It’s rare for an artist at this level to be able to shift and explore different genres and styles with equal success in the way Swift has. In the end, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour isn’t just a demonstration of this mammoth undertaking, it’s also an undeniable proclamation that Swift is one of the most impressive musicians of the 21st century.

Because of that, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour feels like the type of live performance that is important to have documented in this way, like having an original cast performance of Hamilton , or Martin Scorsese recording the final performance of The Band in The Last Waltz . Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour is an accomplishment to be remembered and a showcase of one of the biggest pop stars of all time at the height of her talents. For years, we’ve known all too well that Swift is a powerhouse of a performer, musician, and artist, and Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour encapsulates all of that into this tremendous concert film.

The Big Picture

  • Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour is a breathtaking concert film that seamlessly weaves together Swift's 17-year career and 10 albums into a cohesive and awe-inspiring performance.
  • The concert captures the distinct vibes and unique sounds of each era, showcasing the incredible range and evolution of Swift as an artist.
  • Even for non-Swifties, The Eras Tour is worth watching to appreciate the sheer scale, talent, and genre exploration that Swift has accomplished throughout her career. It's a testament to her status as one of the most impressive musicians of the 21st century.

Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour is now in theaters.

Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (Taylor's Version)

Top 10 Performances from Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version)

ten eras tour

It’s been a long time coming, but Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version) finally hit Disney+ this past weekend, amassing a record-breaking 4.6 million views in just three days. An even more impressive stat when you realize the stage spectacle-turned-cultural-phenomenon clocks in at a whopping 3 hours and 31 minutes, a serious commitment for curious cinephiles and super Swifties alike. If you haven’t already sold your soul to attend a show and are wondering which tracks from Taylor’s extensive catalogue stand out within the newly expanded 48-song set list, “It’s Nice To Have A Friend” break it down.

Here are the top 10 performances, in our humble opinion, from Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour – in chronological order:

“Cruel Summer” ( Lover Set)

Let’s talk about the reciprocal nature of this performance. Fans were finally able to hear “Cruel Summer” live (RIP Lover Fest), one of the best songs Taylor has ever written. The gusto with which they scream the first bridge of the evening says it all, baited by Ms. Americana’s call to “prove” their allegiance via the pop anthem. Viral clips of the opulent opener had her team scrambling to send the 4-year-old track to radio, becoming her 10th No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. As if the show’s ability to make a huge hit wasn’t enough, the single became the soundtrack of the tour itself – speaking directly to the crowd and online audiences who couldn’t get tickets.

Honourable Mention: “The Archer” During her performance of this deep cut (notably a Track 5, IYKYK), Taylor connects thematically, personifying the lyrics with choreography as she stalks the stage.

ten eras tour

“Fearless” ( Fearless Set)

Much has been made about several Swift costumes (the yellow ‘Ruffles’ dress, her Speak Now gowns), but where is the love for Fearless fringe?! A throwback to Taylor’s country roots, the title track from her Grammy-winning sophomore album fashions a physical pastiche, complete with spinning guitar-eo and signature heart hands. Joy radiates from both the singer and the band; simply put, “I don’t know how it gets better than this.”

Honourable Mention: “You Belong With Me” Nostalgia is part of the reason why The Eras Tour is so successful; attendees are looking to be transported back in time through Taylor’s music. Right before her rendition of “You Belong With Me,” she asks the crowd, “Are you ready to go back to high school with me?” Exactly that.

“marjorie” ( evermore Set)

There are so many gems from evermore that could have been incorporated during this set; think “cowboy like me” or “gold rush.” “marjorie” was a bit of a surprise, but the kind that takes your breath away. After witnessing the whirlwind production of “willow,” something about the creative choices here stops you in your tracks (head over to TikTok, where you’ll find multiple viral videos of fathers completely mesmerized). The crowd is clearly locked in; the emotion is palpable. While the song is about Taylor’s late grandmother – hearing Marjorie’s operatic vocals fill a sold-out stadium is hauntingly beautiful – the lyrics also speak to the relationship between her and her fans. “What died didn’t stay dead,” she sings – during the highest-grossing concert tour of all time, when she was once public enemy number one.

Honourable Mention: “champagne problems” Besides the pull-quotable preamble ahead of this performance that makes it even more memorable, hearing a crowd of over 70,000 scream “What a shame she’s fucked in the head” is both unhinged and hilarious. Cathartic even, as Taylor herself put it.

“Don’t Blame Me” ( reputation set)

Take us to church, Tay! If the entire tour serves to highlight her talents as a songwriter and a hitmaker, this number shows off her vocal prowess. The arrangement is fit for a moment of this magnitude; from the sultry start that builds with choral backing vocals, culminating in THAT high note? Magnificent. Piercing electric guitar provides a pinch of rock ‘n’ roll, while the production’s impressive staging and lighting are on full display. For true concert film fans, “Don’t Blame Me” is where direction and editing come together to create something special. And that transition into “Look What You Made Me Do?” Genius.

Honourable Mention: “…Ready For It?” An underrated banger from an underrated album, “…Ready For It?” always brings the energy – especially after one of the campiest performances of the entire show (apt for a track titled “tolerate it”). It’s a true stadium showstopper, evident from the crowd’s enthusiastic participation. Plus, this is the era where Taylor proves she really can sing.

“Long Live” ( Speak Now set)

One could argue that “Long Live” is the emotional climax of The Eras Tour, a love letter to Taylor’s fans – as well as her band members – who’ve been with her since the very beginning. It’s as if these 14-year-old lyrics are narrating the current circumstances surrounding her cultural relevancy: “Tell them how the crowds went wild.” Amazing vocal aside, she also appears grounded and grateful throughout.

Honourable Mention: “Enchanted”

Both big, cinematic masterpieces, it’s hard to believe “Long Live” and “Enchanted” were written solely by Taylor, for an album born from the need to silence critics who discredited her song writing. Wonderstruck is right!

“All Too Well (10 Minute Version) (Taylor’s Version)”

What you’re watching here is the evolution of a fan-favourite. This behemoth begs the question: is there another active, contemporary artist today who can captivate an audience with a ten-minute acoustic number? Just when you think this song can’t get any more devastating, it keeps going. Swift serves storyteller… and leg, just like Angelina Jolie at the 2012 Academy Awards. The summer of Barbie provides the perfect backdrop for a collective “Fuck the patriarchy” chant, followed later by a deep, poignant sigh from one of the world’s biggest female artists.

Honourable Mention: “22”

“22” gives silly, goofy time “in the best way.” This performance is joyous and fun, reflected on Taylor’s face and through the bond she’s clearly developed with her dancers. They all go big here, playing up this piece of pop perfection that’s not pretending to be anything but. Along with some fun cuts to the crowd, viewers are treated to the viral “22” hat giveaway, where Taylor gifts her custom fedora to one lucky fan in the audience. Taylor embracing Bianka Bryant is emotional to watch.

“august/illicit affairs” ( folklore set)

Sweeping across the stage as if salt air herself, Taylor’s live rendition of “august” is stunning. She can’t help but smile, a sign of her fondness for the song. Tacking on the dramatic bridge of “illicit affairs” works so well; the synergy between the two tracks’ themes is spot on. Captured by some of the film’s best camera shots, the visual contrast of a curled up, tiny Taylor in the middle of a massive stadium puts this pop culture circus into perspective.

Honourable Mention: “my tears ricochet”

Drawing inspiration from some sort of gothic funeral procession, the theatrical “my tears ricochet” features excellent use of the stage. It dances on the borderline of ostentatious, without going overboard.

TAYLOR SWIFT: THE ERAS TOUR (TAYLOR'S VERSION)

“Style” ( 1989 set)

Even though “Style” didn’t get a full performance (someone avenge the second verse!!!), it’s still the highlight of Taylor’s 1989 set. Obviously one of her best pop songs, Swift’s swagger here says it all. Everything feels effortless; nothing is forced. From the staging through to the costumes and choreo, it all works so well.

*This author has chosen not to select an honourable mention from the 1989 set

“You’re on Your Own, Kid” (Acoustic set/collection)

If you’re a millennial woman that’s been personally victimized by this performance, you may be entitled to compensation. Re-imagining “You’re on Your Own, Kid” as a stripped-down piano ballad somehow makes these lyrics even more impactful, punctuated by Taylor’s powerful alto tone. If you think about it, the track is a microcosm of her eras; her journey to arrive at this very precipice is detailed throughout. There’s also something particularly poetic about playing a song called “You’re on Your Own, Kid” during a sold-out show. A juxtaposition for the ages.

Honourable Mention: “Death By A Thousand Cuts”

While the inclusion of “Our Song” should be celebrated (#JusticeForDebut), “Death By A Thousand Cuts” just hits different. A top tier track from Lover , Taylor’s remarkable breath control allows for a crisp, clear vocal, her demeanour revealing that this may be one of her favourite songs to perform live.

ten eras tour

“Vigilante Shit” ( Midnights set)

Midnights ’ Billie Eilish-inspired track gets a serious boost from this burlesque number. It’s certainly a risk, but one that pays off. As the performance progresses, the mechanical structure stationed centre stage creates different shapes, taking Taylor’s femme fatale choreography to the next level – literally and figuratively.

Honourable Mention: “Midnight Rain”

This one’s for the Singin’ In The Rain and “Umbrella” by Rihanna stans – or those who enjoyed their musical fusion on Glee .

What are Taylor Swift's tour dates in Europe?

The European leg stretches from May all the way through a five-night stand at Wembley Stadium in London in mid-August.

See a complete list of international dates here .

After she wraps up in Europe, Swift will stop in Miami, New Orleans and Indianapolis before wrapping up in Canada.

See the remaining U.S. dates here .

What is the Eras Tour set list?

The Eras Tour has featured a massive 45-song set list you can check out here . But speculation is swirling it won't look the same when Swift takes the stage in Paris.

Will Taylor Swift add 'The Tortured Poets Department' to her set list?

The tortured poet has been on hiatus keeping her stamina up by releasing a double album of 31 tracks. The 2-hours-and-2-minutes project broke a number of Billboard records as the superstar did zero press to promote it. Fans flocked to stores and streaming services to listen to all the songs from "Fortnight" to "The Manuscript."

Although the singer has not confirmed whether her 11th era album will be added to her Eras Tour set list, she did post a YouTube shorts video with two scenes that sent Easter egg decoders into a frenzy. In one of the shots, the singer is next to a railing where a "TTPD" logo appears to be (at 0:11). In the succeeding shot, her back-up dancers perform holding canes and wearing top hats, something they have not worn previously.

Swift's dancers and bandmates posted to their Instagram stories as they left for France last week. The singer did not appear at two media events with her boyfriend Travis Kelce: the Kentucky Derby and a Formula 1 race in Miami , Florida. Patrick Mahomes, Kelce's friend and Kansas City's quarterback, attended the car racing spectacular with his wife, Brittany.

Can I still get Eras Tour tickets?

Swift's show is completely sold out in Europe and North America. There are resale sites with tickets, but be wary of scams. The best way to avoid getting swindled is continuously checking links on Swift's website . There are some for resale on the sites verified by her camp.

Singapore was a hotbed for fans who traveled thousands of miles only to get turned away at the venue. In Tokyo and Australia, last-minute ticket drops happened a few days — without announcement — ahead of the shows.

Miami, New Orleans and Indianapolis — the three U.S. cities Swift is visiting in the fall — have some of the heftiest price tags with Canada closely behind. In may be cheaper to travel to Warsaw, Poland, or Gelsenkirchen, Germany. Here's a list of cities with the cheapest resale tickets, according to travel website  Islands.com .

10. Vienna, Austria — total average cost: $1,089, safety score: 69.72

9. Cardiff, U.K. — total average cost: $1,061, safety score: 61.83

Who are the opening acts?

Paramore launched the Eras Tour in Glendale, Arizona, in March 2023, so it's fitting the American rock band is opening the tour's second year. The act will open for Swift for 51 shows across Europe . The band was dubbed the 2024 Record Store Day global ambassador and surprised fans in Nashville the weekend following the release of "The Tortured Poets Department."

When the tour comes back to North America in October , Swift's opening act will be Gracie Abrams.

Where can I watch if I don't have tickets?

The Eras Tour is one of the first tours that has been followed, globally, by thousands of fans on digital platforms. Fans dedicate part of their concert experience to livestreaming as Swift performs. A few Swifties have learned how to host their own shows over social media including Tess Bohne , known as the livestream queen. Bohne goes live for (almost) every show pulling streams from Instagram and TikTok. When a livestream goes down, she fills the time with banter.

On YouTube, user @TaylorSwiftHockeyBro also livestreams the three-hour show, and on Twitch, @folkleric , is a host fans follow.

There is also an app, Swift Alert , that notifies fans who only want to watch certain eras like the acoustic, surprise set. The app sends out push alerts if there are any major announcements.

What secret songs are left?

For the past 83 shows, Swift has played an acoustic set she customizes at each stop with a guitar and piano performance. In 2024, the Eras Tour star added mashups of her songs for each stop. Here are the songs she has yet to perform:

  • "Taylor Swift" (debut album): "Mary's Song" and "A Perfectly Good Heart"
  • "Fearless": "The Way I Loved You," "Change," "Superstar," "We Were Happy," "That's When," "Don't You" and "Bye Bye Baby"
  • "Red": "Girl At Home," "Ronan," "Forever Winter" and "Run"
  • "1989": "Sweeter Than Fiction"
  • "Reputation": "I Did Something Bad"
  • "Lover": "London Boy," "Soon You'll Get Better" and "It's Nice to Have a Friend"
  • "Folklore": "Hoax"
  • "Evermore": "Happiness" and "Closure"
  • "Midnights": "Paris" and "Glitch"
  • "The Tortured Poets Department": all 31 tracks

Will Taylor Swift perform in 2025?

There have been many rumors that Swift will continue her show in 2025, but they are only rumors. Nothing has been announced for next year, and as of now, the tour will end in Vancouver, British Columbia, on Dec. 8.

Taylor Swift announces official end of Eras Tour during 100th show: 'Like, that's it'

The singer made the comments while celebrating the 100th show of the tour.

ten eras tour

Taylor Swift is thinking about the end of her Eras era.

During her Eras Tour stop in Liverpool on Thursday, the singer got reflective. The show was the 100th date on the massive worldwide tour, and Swift took the opportunity to talk about the end of the tour for the first time.

"I think a lot of people are like, well, how are you going to celebrate the 100th show?" she told the screaming crowd. "And for me, the celebration of the 100th show for me means this is the very first time I've ever acknowledged to myself and admitted that this tour is gonna end in December. Like, that's it."

She continued, "That feels like so far away from now. But then again, it feels like I just did my first show on this tour, because you guys have made this so much fun for us that we wanted to do 100 shows, 150-something shows."

The 14-time Grammy winner then added that the tour has "become my entire life" and she doesn't remember her hobbies anymore because "all I do when I'm not on stage is just like sit at home and try to think of some clever acoustic song mashups and thinking about what you might like to hear."

Swift then thanked fans for all the effort they've made to attend 100 shows of the Eras Tour, and told them how she wanted to celebrate the milestone. "I want to spend another show just thinking about that and living in this moment with you and being here with you and just know that I appreciate every single ounce of effort you put in to be with us when this tour reaches triple digits of shows. So thank you." She then proceeded to play fan-favorite "All Too Well (10 Minute Version)" as usual, asking the obliging fans if they had 10 minutes to spare, as is custom.

Swift has two more dates in the U.K. city this weekend before moving on to Cardiff and the first of several dates in London.

The Eras Tour, which kicked off March 17, 2023 in Glendale, Ariz., will have spanned five continents and 152 total shows when it concludes in Vancouver, Canada on Dec. 8 of this year. Swift's comments Thursday marked the first time she ever publicly confirmed the end of the tour, which she continued to add dates to over the past year.

Taylor Swift’s New Announcement Makes Watching The Eras Tour On Disney+ Completely Different From Theaters

Ryan reynolds & dwayne johnson feud on red notice set detailed across two new reports, the crow 2024's latest development makes me feel better about bill skarsgard's movie after so much backlash.

  • Taylor Swift's The Eras Tour has become the highest-grossing tour of all time, exceeding $1 billion in revenue.
  • The concert series, celebrating her first ten studio albums, will resume on May 9, 2024, in Paris, France.
  • There are 69 concert dates remaining in 2024, with additional support acts like Paramore and Gracie Abrams.

While Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour movie is finally available to stream on Disney+, the artist is taking a well-deserved break from concerts before her performances resume later this year. With a tour that encompasses and celebrates her first ten studio albums, referred to as “eras” for the concert series, Taylor Swift’s 2023-2024 The Eras Tour quickly became the highest-grossing tour of all-time after surpassing $1 billion in revenue. The success of the tour then carried over to a different medium as she debuted a filmed version of her LA concerts in October 2023, which is now hitting Disney+ as The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version) .

The Eras Tour originally kicked off on March 17, 2023, so it’s fitting that the Disney+ version of The Eras Tour movie debuted nearly a year later on March 14, 2024. While Taylor Swift is currently on a brief break from touring after finishing her Singapore dates on March 9, the singer isn’t slowing down during this time. In addition to the release of The Eras Tour movie on Disney+ , Swift is set to debut her next album, The Tortured Poets Department , on April 19 . After the album’s debut, Swift will be back on the road performing around the world for The Eras Tour in no time.

Taylor Swift's The Eras Tour Resumes On May 9, 2024

Taylor Swift is only taking a two-month break from performing for her world tour, as The Eras Tour picks back up on May 9, 2024 in Paris, France . Once The Eras Tour resumes in May, Swift will be touring almost non-stop until the beginning of December 2024, which will mark the end of the 18-month-long concert series. With The Eras Tour being the first time Swift has embarked on a tour since 2018’s Reputation Tour, it’s no surprise that the demand for her 2023-2024 concert series has been so high.

Once The Eras Tour resumes in May, Swift will be touring almost non-stop until the beginning of December 2024, which will mark the end of the 18-month-long concert series.

There Are 69 Concert Dates Left In The Eras Tour In 2024

Out of over 150 total concerts in The Eras Tour (after several extensions), Taylor Swift still has 69 concert dates still remaining before taking her final bow of the tour. Throughout 2024, Swift will be traveling across Europe before returning to North America for the last leg of The Eras Tour. The artist will be supported by Paramore as her opening act in Europe, with Gracie Abrams taking over as her opener in the United States and Canada starting October 18. Unless another extension or potential delay is announced, Taylor Swift’s final performance of The Eras Tour is scheduled for December 8, 2024 in Vancouver, BC, Canada.

Following Taylor Swift's exciting new announcement, watching The Eras Tour on Disney+ will be a completely different experience.

Will Taylor Swift Have Another Concert Tour For The Tortured Poets Department?

So far, Taylor Swift has not announced whether she will embark on a separate tour to support the release of her upcoming album The Tortured Poets Department . Since Taylor Swift's 11th album is set to debut while The Eras Tour is still ongoing, it’s unclear whether her remaining 2024 concerts will integrate songs from The Tortured Poets Department into the setlist. If she ends up having a tour dedicated solely to the new album, then there’s always the potential for Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour movie to be followed-up on Disney+ by a special film for The Tortured Poets Department .

Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour

Whether you’ve been lucky enough to attend Taylor Swift ’s Eras tour in person on its recent UK leg, or you’ve just been following the spectacle on social media, the chances are you’ve been asking the same question as us – how on earth do she and her team do it?

Between performing for more than three hours straight night after night, whizzing through numerous fast-paced costume changes and visiting a seemingly endless list of cities on the world jaunt, there’s no doubt the gargantuan tour is a real feat.

But, it’s also left us with endless questions about how the whole thing comes together. Allow us to help you out with some of the big ones.

The stages are set up days in advice

Even when Taylor Swift momentarily disappears during her seamless transitions, her interactive stage is a show in itself.

As the singer journeys through the Eras, the display changes with her – from the golden glow of Fearless to the lavender haze of Midnights.

So, how does she bring such a complex set-up all around the world with her?

Founder and CEO of market intelligence company FreightWaves Craig Fuller estimated that the Eras tour will cost more than $30 million (around £23 million) for transportation and logistics alone. And with tours of this magnitude (just like Beyoncé ’s Renaissance shows) it’s not uncommon to have two or more sets on the go so that crew can begin assembling at the next location.

Dave Brooks, Billboard Senior Director of Live Music and Touring, outlined the process with The New York Post , sharing: “They have advance teams that can be prepping and pre-building.”

“It takes two to three weeks, in my understanding,” he added.

However, while one report suggested that an estimated 90 trucks will arrive at the venue to construct the stage, a source supposedly close to the tour told automotive publication Jalopnik that this figure is actually closer to around 50.

Fans on Reddit who have actually been to the tour have also recalled seeing the stage being deconstructed almost immediately once the concert finishes, so they really don’t waste a minute before hitting the road to do it all over again.

And Taylor is fully aware what a huge operation it is behind the scenes, even giving her drivers $100,000 (£79,000) bonuses .

In total, she handed out over $55 million (£43 million) in bonuses to the crew working on the tour, as a source told People . One trucker told Rolling Stone that the sum was “life-changing”.

Taylor did a lot of prep to be able to perform for that long

How, when our lower back was aching and feet were screaming just as an Eras tour audience member, can Taylor do what she does for over three hours night after night?

Well, first of all, she started boosting her endurance well before the tour started. In her recent cover profile with Time magazine, the singer shared: “I knew this tour was harder than anything I’d ever done before by a long shot.”

Joking that she has been “like a frat guy” on past tours, this time around, she began training a whole six months before the shows started.

“Every day I would run on the treadmill, singing the entire set list out loud,” she said. “Fast for fast songs, and a jog or a fast walk for slow songs.”

Her gym even created a personalised programme for her, focusing on strength, conditioning and weights work.

“Then I had three months of dance training, because I wanted to get it in my bones,” she added. “I wanted to be so over-rehearsed that I could be silly with the fans, and not lose my train of thought.”

Taylor also completely cut out alcohol to make sure she was on top form at all times

“Doing that show with a hangover,” she said, “I don’t want to know that world.”

There are also other strict measures in place to ensure the singer doesn’t get sick

Just imagine the disappointment of hearing your night at the Eras tour was cancelled because poor Taylor had caught a cold. Apparently her team does everything in its collective power to keep her fighting fit on the road.

A music industry source told Yahoo Lifestyle that Taylor wasn’t planning to take in the sights or meet fans while in Australia, just in case she got ill.

“When Taylor is on tour, strict measures are put into place to stop her interacting with anyone outside of her ‘bubble’. They can not risk her getting sick under any circumstances,” they said.

“Even those in her bubble, including her dancers and managers, are restricted [in] what they can do and where they can go during their downtime.

“Going on a world tour may sound exciting, but the reality of it is each day just consists of going from a hotel room to the venue and repeat.”

However, we, of course, know that Taylor will sometimes make an exception when there’s a window of downtime, whether it’s grabbing dinner with her famous friends or cheering on boyfriend Travis Kelce in the Super Bowl .

She also told Time that being sick isn’t enough for her to cancel a show.

“I know I’m going on that stage whether I’m sick, injured, heartbroken, uncomfortable, or stressed,” she said. “That’s part of my identity as a human being now. If someone buys a ticket to my show, I’m going to play it unless we have some sort of force majeure.”

And she doesn’t play around when it comes to recovery

It turns out that Taylor recovers from a show exactly as you would imagine.

“I do not leave my bed except to get food and take it back to my bed and eat it there,” she told Time .

“It’s a dream scenario. I can barely speak because I’ve been singing for three shows straight. Every time I take a step my feet go crunch, crunch, crunch from dancing in heels.”

How did Taylor Swift choose songs for the Eras tour setlist?

By now, we know that the Eras tour is a journey through all the various albums of Taylor’s career.

That means we get all the hits – both old and new – along with the odd deep cut, as well as different surprise songs at every show in her dedicated acoustic segment.

It can’t have been easy choosing the setlist from such a huge back catalogue of songs, and so far Taylor hasn’t really opened up about how exactly she does it.

However, we do know that she loves to keep fans on their toes and switches things up occasionally.

“You think you can just go online, you think you can just scroll and know the setlist?’” the pop star joked during a show in Arlington, Texas earlier this year.

“You think you can just come prepared with your little flashcards in your pocket,” she added. “Let it be said about the Eras tour, we’re tricksy. That’s what we are. We enjoy a good, healthy setlist hijinks.”

That night, she swapped her Folklore song Invisible String to The 1.

And what about picking the surprise song each night?

E ach night during the acoustic portion of the Eras show, Taylor will perform two songs. These could quite literally be anything from across her lengthy career, and sometimes they even come in the form of a mash-up .

For a while, Taylor refrained from performing any repeat songs throughout the whole tour. But in February this year, she did away with that rule .

“I’ve been thinking, I want to be as creative as possible with the acoustic set moving forward,” she told a crowd in Melbourne.

“I want to be able to play songs more than once if I feel like it, and I wanna be able to make changes to songs.”

As for how she actually picks them, it’s still a mystery, despite fans’ best efforts to work out her methods .

How did Taylor Swift incorporate The Tortured Poets Department portion of the Eras tour?

Europe may have waited longer than anyone to finally experience the Eras tour, but our patience was rewarded in the form of The Tortured Poets Department segment – a newly-added run of songs featuring bespoke set-pieces, costumes and even a one-off surprise appearance from Taylor’s boyfriend Travs Kelce .

It’s even more impressive that Taylor somehow managed to create a whole extra part of the tour after the already-lengthy show was up and running.

During her second night in Paris this year, the singer revealed to fans that planning started months before The Tortured Poets Department ever made it to the stage.

“We started planning this surprise for you about eight or nine months ago and then when we got ‘two months off’ of the Eras Tour, we really didn’t take any time off at all,” she said in a video shared by Variety .

“We just went directly back into rehearsals. So I’d like to give it up for my crew, my dancers, and my band.”

However, some setlist sacrifices did have to be made in order to make room for Taylor’s newest era, with songs like The Archer, The Last Great American Dynasty and ’Tis the Damn Season not making the cut for the second leg of the tour.

Taylor previously disclosed that work on her latest release began “ right after I turned in Midnights”, with work continuing throughout the US leg of her world jaunt last year.

Those costume changes happen like clockwork

There are 16 costume changes throughout the Eras tour, most of which only last two minutes or so.

There’s no official behind-the-scenes confirmation of how it all works just yet, but our best guess (along with those of some experienced theatre performers ) is that there’s some quick-change magic going on. Taylor will also have a team of people helping her backstage, who will be around for hair and makeup touch-ups as well as costume changes.

Dan George, a tour manager who has worked for Shakira and Britney Spears in the past, told the New York Post : “All costumes are typically modified in some way that’s going to make it really easy to get in and out of.

“A dress that would typically have buttons, maybe they add a zipper on it instead. Or the performer might need to have a pouch for a battery pack in a costume. You know, little customizations that make things easier.”

One TikTok user also captured a pretty good angle of a costume change during Midnight Rain.

While performing in locations where it gets darker earlier, Taylor was even filmed doing some outfit adjustments and taking a quick water break on the stage.

And, as anyone who’s seen the show before will know, some of those costume changes even take place on stage as part of the show – which is how Travis wound up making his cameo in London .

Taylor’s parents adorned her bejewelled Fearless guitar by hand

Even a globe-trotting pop star needs a little help from mum and dad every now and again.

Taylor’s crystal encrusted guitar, which she plays during the Fearless portion of the night (matching the one she used on her 2009 tour), was hand-finished by her parents, who stuck the shimmering stones on by hand using “super glue and a free afternoon.”

Who decides which audience member gets Taylor Swift’s 22 hat?

Each night during the Red portion of the set, Taylor gifts her signed bowler hat to a very lucky fan while singing 22.

While neither Taylor nor her team has ever said anything about how the fan in question is chosen, there are plenty of theories out there.

One of them is that Taylor’s mum, Andrea , will scope out the crowd to look for fans. During her closing night Wembley show in July, Taylor confirmed that her parents will, indeed, take a look at the crowd before the show and report back how the energy is looking that night.

Previous recipients have reported being approached by Taylor’s team during the concert. Nine-year-old Milana Bruno was chosen at Taylor’s first Melbourne, and thought she was “getting told off” for dancing on her chair at first, according to the Sydney Morning Herald .

The mother of another fan at the Cardiff show, seven-year-old Evie Frith, recalled being chosen totally unexpectedly.

“At the end of Love Story, someone grabbed Evie and me and said ‘quick, run’,” mum Kayleigh told the BBC . “They took us to the ground floor bit – I have no idea how they spotted Evie. I really believe it was meant to be.”

But other times it seems she’s the Mastermind behind it all…

Kobe Bryant’s daughter Bianka was gifted the hat at one of Taylor’s Los Angeles Show, and when New Zealand TikToker Oliver Mills received the hat in Melbourne, Taylor was filmed telling him: “I love your videos, you’re so funny”.

In an interview with The Project , Oliver teased that while he wasn’t one to “share secrets”, he said he was in the “right place at the right time” (though later admitted in a TikTok that he’s been “lying” to the media to keep the secret.

Taylor’s method of getting backstage is hilariously unglamorous

If you’re deep on Swift-tok, you’ll have seen plenty of theories that Taylor makes her way backstage via…a cleaning cart.

One video actually appeared to prove that this is how Taylor secretly gets into position, which you can watch below. Also, absolutely 10/10 touch with three conveniently placed mops.

How does Taylor Swift pull off that Eras tour dive every night?

You know the one, where she dives head first (fearless!) into a gap in the stage like she’s entering a body of water.

Attendees who have been at just the right angle spotted that Taylor takes her cue to dive from an LED light. When the floor opens up it’s red, and when it’s time to go the light will turn green.

As for how she zooms to the other end of the stage, back in 2018 Taylor gave fans a little behind the scenes video of the “rocket sled” that takes her from one end of to the other, so we suspect it’s something similar helping pull off the illusion that she’s actually swimming underneath walkway.

Taylor’s choreographer has also worked on some HUGE movies

If you’re a big Swiftie you might have taught yourself some of the Eras dance moves by now (we can’t get enough of the Karma steps , personally), and it turns out Taylor had some help from a choreographer who’s a pretty huge deal in the movie industry.

Mandy Moore not only choreographed Taylor’s steps, but she’s the dance expert behind those amazing La La Land dance scenes. She’s also got credits for Babylon starring Margot Robbie and has worked on Dancing With The Stars since 2015.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight about working with Taylor, she shared: “I love that she is a hard worker, she cares so much about what she’s doing, she wants the fans to have the best show possible, and she stops at nothing to get that done.

“And I appreciate it because I like to work hard too, and we are really alike. We had a really good working relationship; it was awesome.”

The show has (sort of) caused mini earthquakes

When Taylor was performing in Seattle, the city generated seismic activity equivalent to a 2.3 magnitude earthquake, according to a seismologist who spoke to CNN .

Then she did it again in Edinburgh, with the British Geological Survey reporting that earthquake readings were detected up to 6 km away from the venue.

The Eras tour is raking in even more cash than you’d expect

With stadiums ranging from 50,000 to 90,000 capacity and an expected 152 Eras shows performed by the end of 2024, it’s pretty mind-boggling to try and fathom how much cash that is raking in.

As of 2023, it was the first tour in history to gross $1 billion (£ 791.5 million) – and Taylor is estimated to make an additional  billion in ticket sales in 2024 alone.

Taylor Swift donates to the food banks of every city she stops in

If Taylor Swift is coming to town, you can be sure that the whole city is going to know about it. And in a generous gesture to mark her visit to each location, she donates big sums of money to food banks .

The Cardiff Foodbank said Taylor’s donation was the largest the charity has ever received, which it said has now given them “breathing space” to try new things .

St Andrew’s Community Network in Liverpool, added that her donation there was the “most incredible gift”.

All The Celebrity Guests Who Have Taken the Stage at Taylor Swift's Eras Tour ... So Far!

"Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine getting to play a song for 80,000 people."

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour has been underway for over a year now and every night brings a new surprise. Whether it’s a song she’s never played before or a special celebrity guest, Taylor is always keeping her fans on their toes.

Throughout the tour’s run, Taylor has brought out a handful of surprise guests, ranging from her musical collaborators to her boyfriend Travis Kelce! Who knows what she has planned next -- but for now, here’s all the guests she’s brought out so far.

Take a look back on all of the Eras Tour celebrity guests…

1. Travis Kelce

Waiting for your permission to load the Instagram Media.

Taylor surprised fans when her boyfriend Travis Kelce joined her on stage during one of her recent shows in London. As Taylor performed, Travis and two other dancers rose from the center of the stage as the intro to “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart” began. Decked out in a tux and top hat, Travis swooped Taylor off the ground and carried her across the stage as she feigned being passed out. Travis completely committed to the skit and even pretended to apply makeup on Taylor later on in the performance.

“I’m still cracking up/swooning over @killatrav’s Eras Tour debut 🥰 Never going to forget these shows,” Taylor later wrote on her Instagram .

2. Hayley Williams

Hayley Williams and her band Paramore may be opening for Taylor but it had been over a decade since the pair had performed together. During Taylor’s second performance in London, Hayley joined her during the acoustic segment to sing their Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) vault track “Castles Crumbling.” The duo sat side-by-side at the piano, where Hayley wore a dress reminiscent of the one that Taylor had worn the last time they took the stage together.

“I got to sing ‘Castles Crumbling’ with @yelyahwilliams for the first time - hadn’t performed with her since 2011 and man my heart was just so full of love for her and our friendship,” Taylor wrote in an Instagram post .

3. Gracie Abrams

London got another treat when the “impossibly gifted and wonderful” Gracie Abrams -- one of Swift's opening acts -- took the stage with Taylor to perform their collaboration “Us” for the very first time. Before they began, Taylor explained that the song was written late at night while the friends were hanging out and drinking wine.

“We wrote this song when we were pretty hammered. We’d had a bunch of cosmos at dinner and then we came home and opened wine. And we were just talking about your life. And talking about your life turned into this song,” Taylor said on stage .

4. Ice Spice

Early on in the American leg of the Eras Tour, Taylor invited Ice Spice to join her on stage in New Jersey -- on the same day that she announced the release of a remixed version of “Karma” featuring the rapper. The pair performed the song together and Ice Spice ended up joining Taylor for all three Jersey shows.

“Last night in Jersey was 🤯💕🌙🙏✨💥 !!! The way the whole stadium screamed when Ice literally popped up unannounced,” Taylor wrote on the first night of their on stage collaboration.

On the last night, she added , “@icespice i love youuuu and I’m still buzzing from getting to sing with you all three nights! This tour has become my entire personality.”

5. Jack Antonoff

During one of her New Jersey shows, Taylor was also joined on stage by her frequent collaborator and producer Jack Antonoff. With so many songs to choose from, the duo opted to perform “Getaway Car” off of Taylor’s album Reputation , which Jack helped write and produce.

While reflecting on the night, Taylor wrote that she loved getting to hear the crowd “shout the lyrics.”

In July 2023, during a tour stop in California, Taylor brought out the Haim sisters: Alana, Danielle and Este. The trio, who were also opening the show, joined Taylor on stage for a performance of their collaboration “no body, no crime” while they were wearing their costumes from the “Bejeweled” music video.

“Santa Clara this weekend was a partyyy, both crowds were so loud and rowdy. And I’ll never forget when @alanahaim @estehaim and @daniellehaim emerged wearing their gowns from the Bejeweled video 😂,” Taylor later wrote on Instagram .

7. Phoebe Bridgers

In May 2023, Taylor took the Eras Tour to Nashville and Phoebe Bridgers officially joined her on the road as an opener. That night, the friends performed their collaboration “Nothing New,” a vault track off of Red (Taylor’s Version) . It marked the first of many collabs for the pair, who also performed the song together in Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and New Jersey.

“Got to perform ‘Nothing New’ with boss genius/baby angel face @phoebebridgers for the first time, and have been so moved by these beautiful, generous Nashville crowds!!!! I just can’t believe it,” Taylor wrote on social media after their first performance together.

8. Aaron Dessner

Taylor has brought her collaborator Aaron Dessner on stage with her quite a few times throughout the Eras Tour. The pair first took the stage together during a tour stop in Florida, where they performed “The Great War” for the first time. The next night, he returned to play “Mad Woman.” Then in Nashville, they had the chance to sing “Would’ve, Could’ve, Should’ve” in the middle of the pouring rain. In July, Aaron returned once again for a performance of “Ivy” in his hometown, Cincinnati.

“Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine getting to play a song for 80,000 people on acoustic guitar with @taylorswift ❤️❤️eternally grateful for all the music we have made and your friendship,” Aaron wrote on Instagram . “The #tstheerastour is the greatest show I've ever seen!!!!!”

9. Marcus Mumford

Marcus Mumford stopped by one of the very first Eras Tour shows when Taylor performed in Las Vegas in March 2023. While on stage together, the duo performed “Cowboy Like Me” off of Taylor’s album Evermore — much of which was recorded at Marcus’ home recording studio. While Marcus only sang harmonies on the album track, he performed a full verse in concert.

“Last night in Vegas Marcus Mumford showed up and surprised the crowd with ‘Cowboy Like Me’ so like 🤩🤯😝! Thank you to @marcusmumford and that glorious crowd,” Taylor wrote on Instagram .

10. Maren Morris

In June 2023, the Eras Tour made a stop in Chicago and during one of the shows, Maren Morris joined Taylor on stage. The duo performed their song, “You All Over Me,” a vault track from Fearless (Taylor’s Version) . On TikTok , Maren thanked Taylor for having her, writing, “Your generosity to me in these last 7 years is insurmountable.”

On Instagram, she added , “We finally got to play ‘You All Over Me’ and I won’t ever be shutting up about it. Love you @taylorswift and love you always, Chicago.”

11. Joey King & Taylor Lautner

Taylor celebrated the release of the music video for her Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) vault track “I Can See You” during a tour stop in Missouri. To mark the occasion, she brought the stars of the music video, Joey King and Taylor Lautner, on stage with her.

“Was any of this real??? Did this actually happen?” Joey wrote on Instagram . “Taylor, you’ve been such a huge figure in my life since we met when I was 9 years old. I’ve known you longer than I haven’t, and I feel so lucky for it. You are truly the most magical person. I love you forever.”

Here's how much it cost this Swiftie to chase his idol across 4 countries and 10 shows

  • Armed with a credit card and a dream, Daniel Jailani set off to see the Eras Tour as many times as possible.
  • Going to 10 shows across four countries cost him $4,280 in tickets, flights, hotels, and outfits.
  • He says it was an experience of a lifetime, one he would gladly repeat.

Insider Today

Daniel Jailani, a 24-year-old legal counsel from Singapore and a hardcore Taylor Swift fan, was laser-focused on catching as many of his idol's Eras Tour shows as possible.

Even if it meant using up almost all his paid time off, he traveled to Australia, France, and the United Kingdom to catch 10 of Swift's three-and-a-half-hour-long concerts.

Jailani said Swift is his favorite artist of all time. Growing up gay in a conservative Muslim family in Singapore, he said: "Her music transported me to a place where I was not stuck in my very difficult reality."

He added that he lived vicariously through Swift's music in his formative years.

"And at that point in time, her music was about high school and falling in love with boys, so that's how she allowed me to experience all that," he said.

In five months, Jailani has taken six flights, tailored eight concert outfits himself, and spent $4,279.76 to see the shows.

He said that the main motivation to see Swift across multiple nights was to catch her three surprise songs every night, which are not in her set list of 46 songs and are unique to each city.

He's not done yet and plans to attend one last show in London in August.

Here's what the whole experience cost him, according to receipts and invoices verified by Business Insider.

$2,242.22 for concert tickets

While some struggled with purchasing even a single ticket to see Swift, Jailani managed to snag 11 with the help of his friends, family, and strangers on TikTok.

He attended one night in Melbourne, all six nights in Singapore, two in Lyon, and one in London, with one more — Swift's August show at Wembley Stadium — left.

Jailani said securing the tickets was a team effort, with his family and friends helping him purchase additional tickets.

For example, one of his friends traded her extra Melbourne Eras Tour ticket for his spare Singapore Coldplay "Music of the Spheres" ticket.

$1,083.51 for flights

The fan chased Swift around the world, flying to three different countries from Singapore to see his idol. He purchased six flight tickets, return journeys from Singapore to Melbourne, Paris and London.

Jailani booked them all with deals on Singapore Airlines, the country's national carrier.

He has yet to book his last return flight to London for Swift's August show.

S$396.48 for hotels

Here's where Jailani saved big. Opting to bunk in with his friends and family in Lyon and London rather than in hotels or Airbnbs helped him save.

In Melbourne, however, he chose to stay in a serviced apartment just half a mile from the concert venue.

$230 on Eras Tour merch

He spent about $230 on official Eras Tour souvenirs, which included two t-shirts, one hoodie, and one crewneck sweater.

$328.55 for outfits

Jailani designed his own outfits for the concerts, inspired by eight of Swift's 11 albums, or eras.

From a rhinestone-studded black pantsuit inspired by the Midnights album to a sweeping green cape for the Folklore album, he pieced all his outfits together by hand.

The materials used cost him $328.55, he said.

Swifties are shelling out big time for the Eras Tour

Jailani is not the only one willing to spend big bucks for the Eras Tour. A report by research company QuestionPro found that Swifties were spending $1,300 on average to attend the Eras Tour.

An earlier Business Insider story featured eight Swifties who spent between $300 and $20,000 to see the concert.

He also hasn't broken the record for most shows attended. According to Rolling Stone , a 27-year-old fan visited the Eras Tour 20 times across North America.

The Eras Tour is the first-ever concert tour to gross over $1 billion, and the QuestionPro report found that it could result in $4.6 billion in consumer spending in the US.

Swift is expected to boost the economies of countries in Europe in a similar way as her tour makes its way through the continent.

Hotel prices in Milan, ahead of her show in July, spiked by 45% on the nights of her concerts, compared to the weeks before and after the show, Italian tourism company Tourist Italy told Business Insider .

Portugal, Spain, and Sweden's hotel prices in May increased several times from their 2021 to 2023 average, according to a June report from BMI, an analytics subsidiary of Fitch Solutions.

The one European country that didn't seem to have benefited from Swiftonomics, however, was France , where hotel prices dropped, per the BMI report.

Swift still has 34 shows left in Europe and Canada, with the tour slated to end in December.

Taylor Swift appears to get stuck on platform during concert in Dublin

Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour - Dublin, Ireland

The "Errors Tour" continues!

Taylor Swift and her backup dancer had to think fast after an apparent stage malfunction during an " Eras Tour " performance at Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Ireland, on June 28.

As she performed “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived,” a track from her latest album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” Swift appeared to get stuck on a raised platform on stage.

In multiple videos of the moment shared by fans on social media, Swift and one of her backup dancers, Jan Ravnik, can be seen standing on platforms several yards apart. Ravnik’s platform slowly lowers to the ground but Swift’s platform remains in the air, which appeared to be an unplanned moment.

As seen in fans' videos, the singer seemed to be wondering what to do next. However, Ravnik doesn’t miss a beat, and walks over to Swift’s platform and helps lift her down.

In one TikTok video showing a close-up of Swift’s facial expressions, she appears to flash a smile at the stage mishap before continuing on with the show.

Fans were quick to comment on Swift and Ravnik’s seamless handling of the apparent malfunction.

“I bet they locked eyes and were like ‘EXECUTE EMERGENCY MANEUVER A,’” one person wrote on X .

“Not all heroes wear capes…” another person wrote .

Other fans on TikTok called it “a beautiful moment” and said Ravnk was “so graceful, like it was supposed to be part of the show.”

Some Swifties also pointed to this as the latest installment of the “Errors Tour,” fans’ affectionate nickname for the mishaps Swift has encountered during the Eras Tour, which began in March 2023.

Last June, Swift experienced a similar stage malfunction during a show at Paycor Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio. As she performed “Look What You Made Me Do,” the singer appeared to be waiting for the stage to lower.

However, when the stage didn’t move, she sprinted out a back door, apparently to do a quick outfit change before the next segment of the show.

Swift has also had to deal with one unfortunate hazard of performing in big outdoor arenas: accidentally swallowing bugs.

The singer has accidentally inhaled an insect a few times during the Eras Tour — first, in June 2023 during a show in Chicago , when she broke into a coughing fit and had to pause to let the crowd know what was going on.

“I swallowed a bug, I’m so sorry,” she said, as captured in fan videos of the moment.

“Is there any chance that none of you saw that?” she quipped.

The same thing happened again during her recent June 23 show at Wembley Stadium in London.

Swift was performing “All Too Well (10 Minute Version)” when she inhaled another insect.

“I swallowed a bug. Can you sing?” she asked the crowd.

The recent London leg of her tour was full of memorable moments and celebrity guests — including a backstage selfie with Prince William and two of his children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

Swift also exchanged some sweet words with Hugh Grant, who attended her June 23 show with his wife and at least one of his children.

“Dear @taylorswift13 , You have an incredible show, an amazing and v hospitable team and excellent if gigantic boyfriend (#tequilashots.). Thanks so much from one ageing London boy, wife and thrilled 8 year old #halfgirlhalfbracelet,” Grant wrote on X .

“As a long time Hugh Grant stan this tweet is very important to my culture,” Swift responded.

Ben Affleck is leaning on his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner.

On Sunday, the actor, 54, was snapped paying a visit to her home.

The “Argo” star kept it casual, wearing a pair of jeans and a tee emblazoned with the words, “Speed Motors Unlimited.” He was also carrying a book and a can of Diet Coke.

Ben Affleck.

Affleck has been staying nearby in a pricey Brentwood rental property while rumors swirl about the state of his marriage to Jennifer Lopez.

The “Alias” star, 52, has been a steady presence in her ex’s life and has reportedly encouraged Affleck to “work on his marriage” with Lopez.

Meanwhile, Affleck and Lopez seem to be on the verge of splitting up.

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner.

Page Six exclusively reported that the high-profile pair are selling pieces of art from their $60 million home, which is also up for sale.

We hear that collectors and interested buyers were purchasing “art and some pieces” that were “newly on sale” from the pair’s home in early June.

They bought the mansion in 2023 and put it on the market almost exactly a year later.

The union has been the subject of fevered speculation since Affleck moved his belongings out of the family home . He is now staying near the three children he shares with Garner: Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12.

The Oscar winner removed his things while Lopez, 54, was on a solo vacation to Europe.

She enjoyed a jaunt to Italy and France after canceling her tour .

The “Jenny from the Block” singer looked tense when she returned to LA and was snapped catching lunch with her child Emme.

Back in May, a source told Page Six that Affleck had “come to his senses” about his and J.Lo’s short-lived marriage and wanted to call it quits.

“If there was a way to divorce on grounds of temporary insanity, he would,” our insider shared. “He feels like the last two years was just a fever dream, and he’s come to his senses now and understands there is just no way this is going to work.”

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck.

The couple, dubbed “Bennifer,” were first engaged in 2002 but never made it down the aisle, breaking it off in 2004.

Lopez went on to marry singer Marc Anthony, with whom she shares 16-year-old twins, Max and Emme and was engaged to retired Yankees slugger, Alex Rodriguez . Affleck wed Garner in 2005 and their divorce was finalized in 2018.

The “Gigli” co-stars reconciled in April 2021 and married the following year in Las Vegas.

They celebrated with a second, more lavish ceremony in front of family and friends at Affleck’s Georgia estate the following month.
