Fantastic Turkey trip

I done the 10 day Turkey land tour and had a fantastic time seeing lots of different sights in Turkey. Mustafa was an excellent tour guide, always so helpful and knowledgeable about the history of Turkey. I really enjoyed the optional hike to do part of the Lycian way which was great. Lots of great food, time to enjoy the sunshine and very comfortable hotel and coach. I would recommend this trip to anyone wanting to see Turkey on a tour. Thank you Mustafa for an incredible trip! :)

Best of Turkey by Land - AMAZING!

This tour was one of the best things that I've done during my travels and exceeded all expectations. The itinerary, accomodation, activities & locations visited have all been incredible. You get it all - the bustling city, history, culture, coastal beaches, & all the natural beauty that Turkey has to offer! The pace of the tour is without fault. You see so much in just 12 days but get plenty of time to relax as well. The tour guide Mustafa is extremely knowledgeable and he takes care in his work. He looks after his passengers well and as a solo female traveller this was very comforting. He has the best recommendations for shopping/food etc, & also has a great sense of humor which lifts the whole atmosphere. Overall an amazing experience and one you should book if you're considering it. I enjoyed it that much I've already booked another tour with Travel Talk Tours! 10/10

12 day Best of Turkey by Gulet

12 day Best of Turkey by Gulet. Had an amazing tour seeing different landscapes of Turkey. From the Aegean Sea of archeological sites of ancient times to the best time sailing the Mediterranean and lastly the picturesque views of Cappadocia. Mus was the best tour guide with insights of the country and its history. A highlight of the tour was definitely the hot air balloon ride, a bucket list moment and the food in Turkey!!! Definitely recommend for solo travellers and made the best of friends from all corners of the world.

12-days in Türkiye 🇹🇷

Our 12-day trip to Türkiye was an incredible journey through time, culture, and culinary delights. From the stunning architecture of Istanbul's Blue Mosque and the Topkapi Palace to the surreal landscapes of Cappadocia, every moment was filled with awe. The ancient ruins of Ephesus and the thermal pools of Pamukkale added to the historical richness of our adventure. Our guide, Mustafa, was a standout highlight. His extensive knowledge and passion for Türkiye’s history and culture brought each site to life, making our experience deeply enriching and engaging. His Organisation and attention to detail ensured we could see each site in the best possible conditions. This trip was an extraordinary blend of history, architecture, food, and culture, made perfect by the expertise of Mustafa and the excellent services of Travel Talk. Highly recommended!

Turkey 2024

Türkiye is a treasure trove of wonders! Imagine walking through history in Istanbul, where you can explore the grandeur of Hagia Sophia and the breathtaking Blue Mosque. Next, take a reflective visit to ANZAC Cove in Gallipoli, where the poignant stories of World War I come to life. The highlight of my trip to Türkiye, was a hot air balloon ride over Cappadocia. As you soar above the fairy chimneys and unique rock formations at sunrise, you'll feel like you're in a dream. With its rich history, stunning landscapes, and warm hospitality, Türkiye is an unforgettable destination. I would Iike to thank our wonderful bus driver's, Tarik and Ahmet, we were always welcomed on board with a smile and were made very comfortable during our journey. A huge thank you to our tour guide, Mustafa, he continually went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful, stress-free time that was filled with forever memories. Thank you Travel Talk and your wonderful team.

Amazing Türkiye 🇹🇷

What a great taste of Türkiye we have had! The land and sea experience in the circular loop has given us a vast range of amazing experiences over constantly changing landscapes drenched in history. Thanks to our amazing guide Mustafa I have learnt soooo much!

10 day tour to Turkey with gulet

Really enjoyed my 10 day tour to Turkey with our amazing guide Mustafa. He was a fabulous guide, very knowledgeable and everything ran so smoothly. The 3 days on the gulet boat was the highlight. Food on the boat was excellent, and no AC wasn’t a problem due to the sea breeze. The only negatives were the long times spent on the bus, buffets dinners at the hotels weren’t great, and I had a short bout of food poisoning.

Best of Turkey by Land

Had such a great time on this tour. I’ve done a couple of tours previously with Travel Talk and they are always well organised. Mustafa, our guide was great, always helpful and would make sure we were visiting at the best times to avoid the crowds. Tour was a mixture of history/ culture, beach days and natural wonders so something to suit all. Hot air ballooning over Cappadocia and the Turkish Night were such good fun. Definitely recommend!!

We did a ten days land tour in Turkey…

We did a ten days land tour in Turkey with Travel Talk tour. Our guide was Mustafa and he was excellent in every aspects. We enjoyed the tour and the only thing I didn’t give a 5* because there were too many people on the tour 40 and some of the hotel foods weren’t good.

Travel Talk Turkey June 2024

Great group and tour guide (Mustafa is a legend!) We covered a lot of ground and saw some of the most amazing sights. Mus is also a very informative and organised guide, educating the group about Turkey and keeping the tour running smoothly. My only major feedback is that it would be great if Travel Talk could explicitly point out extra costs in terms of upgrades and sightseeing/activities during the booking stage so that guests can budget properly and be more prepared with necessary cash out, etc. Also, some hotels are isolated so it made it difficult to get into town for amenities during free time. Other than that, trip of a lifetime - I have loved every minute!

12 day essential Turkey

12 day turkey - Excellent, excellent, Excellent. There is so much to see and do in Turkey and this trip has it all. Some bus days are long but it’s the price you pay if you want to take in the sights of this varied country. Whether you are interested in ancient history or paragliding over modern tourist resorts this trip has something for you, our guide Mustafa was not only informative but amusing and helpful throughout. A great choice for a perfect holiday

Relax & Safe with TravelTalkTour

We traveled all over the world on our own most of the times, we decided to use a Tour Company this time! TravelTalk is the BEST! We are on last days of our 10 Days Turkey Land Tour. They picked us from the airport, the hotels, the bus and the drivers, the restaurants, and specially our guide Mustafa is wonderful. He always so helpful, very informative, super humorous. We feel relax and safe on this whole Turkey trip, get to see beautiful places and experiencing many adventurous activities. I will recommend Travel Talk Tour to our friends when we get back home.

10-day Turkey Amazing Land Tour

Overall a good tour (10 day Turkey land tour) and Mustafa was an amazing tour guide with helpful tips and hints along the way. July was quite hot, so it was uncomfortable at times but Mustafa went out of his way to make sure there were plan Bs to accommodate the hot weather and ensure the group enjoyed the sights.

Exceeded Expectations

My partner and I did the 12 day Turkey by land tour and it was incredible! It exceeded our expectations. Our guide Mustafa was amazing, he has so much knowledge and took us to sites at the best times to avoid the crowds where possible. He made sure we were well looked after and gave us all the information we needed each day. Most of the hotels were brand new and all of them had swimming pools which was great after a hot day exploring. The tour was awesome, we went to so many different places, ancient ruins, beaches and so many activities to choose from too. We did a lot of travelling by bus but it was nice to see so much of the countryside. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone. It was a great experience exploring Turkey 😊

travel talk, 12 days turkey by gulet

I completed the 12 day TurkishTour by Gulet with Travel Talk. The tour overall was a fantastic experience. The tour guide Mustafa was very informative, entertaining and considerate guide. The hotels during the stay were clean and comfortable. The optional activities were great experiences. The food sometimes got repetitive at the hotels as they were all buffet. It would have been nice to go into town some nights as a group and eat at a local restaurant. The gulet experience was amazing. The crew on board went above and beyond in their service. Would recommend to anyone wanting to experience the Turkey culture.

Beware - unreasonable booking conditions - Do not book with this company! They cancelled our booking for no reason after confirming it and didn’t even offer a refund (just transfer to another tour) until I complained. Finally got refund 1.5 weeks later after some chasing. Their booking conditions do not comply with ABTA code of conduct and guidance as they can cancel for any reason even after full balance is due. This is also in direct contradiction to their website which says departures are guaranteed. Company has still not responded to my complaint almost 3 weeks ago.

Pope, 87, Embarks on ‘Physical Test’ in Grueling Asia Tour

The 11-day trip, a signal that Francis does not intend to slow down, requires nearly 45 hours of air travel and meetings in tropical climates.

Pope Francis waves to a crowd of people surrounding him.

By Emma Bubola

Reporting from Vatican City and Jakarta, Indonesia

Pope Francis left Monday on an 11-day trip to the Asia-Pacific region, the longest and among the most complicated of his tenure. It could be particularly challenging for Francis, 87, who has been using a wheelchair and battling health problems.

But the trip, which includes a stop in Indonesia — the world’s largest Muslim majority country — also signals he has no intention of slowing down his outreach to faraway Catholics.

Francis will visit four countries for a total of about 20,000 miles by plane. From Indonesia he goes to Papua New Guinea, then East Timor and Singapore, as he deepens his engagement with Asia, one of his priorities.

The trip will include more than 43 hours of air travel and meetings with local faithful, clergy and politicians in cities with tropical climates or high levels of pollution on the other side of the world from Rome.

“It’s a physical test,” said Massimo Faggioli, a professor of theology at Villanova University, “and a sign that this pontificate is far from being over.”

Why is he visiting these countries?

The pope chose four island nations as he extends his outreach to what he calls “the peripheries,” a term for overlooked, faraway places with small, minority or persecuted Catholic communities. The trip is also one of Francis’ boldest engagements with Asia, a fast-growing part of the world, which the pope has always regarded as a strategic objective.

Francis made a largely secretive deal with China in 2018 for the appointment of bishops, but not all issues have been resolved, as China’s government still exerts strong political control over religious life, said Gianni Criveller, dean of studies at the PIME International Missionary School of Theology in Milan.

While no pope has been able to visit China, Francis has taken trips, such as to Mongolia, that have basically put him on China’s doorstep. This time as well, Mr. Faggioli said, the trip is seen as an attempt to “talk to countries he can’t go to.”

He said the trip also showed Francis’ ambition to make the Roman Catholic Church truly global — drawing attention to areas not traditionally of Christian culture and where Catholicism coexists with other religions, relying on the communities’ devotion rather than on wealth, endowments or a historical hegemony.

Unlike in Europe, the Catholic church in Asia does not “rest on its laurels,” said Mr. Faggioli, and believing is in some cases still an act of resistance.

“He sends a message to all the Catholics,” Mr. Faggioli said. “That the future of the church looks more like these churches in which we are a minority than those in which we are a majority.”

The pope’s first stop, Indonesia, also reflects Francis’ commitment to promoting dialogue between Muslims and Christians. He was the first pope to visit the Arabian Peninsula , in 2019.

He is also likely to urge global action to protect the environment, in a part of the world that is particularly vulnerable to climate change, including rising sea levels and severe weather events like droughts and typhoons.

Is the pope too frail for such a trip?

The Vatican originally had considered the trip for 2020 but canceled it because of the pandemic. Despite being older now, the pope is committed to showing that despite his age and ailments he is “still alive though some wanted me dead,” as he once joked .

In recent years, Francis’ health has been a source of concern. Within three years, he underwent a hernia operation, had colon surgery and was hospitalized for a respiratory infection. Last year, he did not attend a summit in Dubai because of health problems.

Still, the pope has been seen walking in recent weeks, instead of using a wheelchair, as he has increasingly done.

In the 11-day trip, he will be accompanied by his medical team (two nurses and a doctor) and, in a first, by his secretaries. Matteo Bruni, the Vatican’s spokesman, said at a news briefing on Friday that no extra precautions were taken for this trip, as the measures they normally adopt were considered sufficient.

Still, the ambitious itinerary for the octogenarian leader of the world’s Roman Catholics inevitably has stirred questions about the impact on his health.

Reporters questioned Mr. Bruni about the 92 percent humidity that the pope would face in Vanimo, a town tucked between Papua New Guinea’s rainforest and the Pacific Ocean. Markus Solo, an Indonesian priest who focuses on interfaith dialogue at the Vatican, said he worried about the impact that Jakarta’s high pollution could have, partly because Francis lost part of a lung to infection as a teenager.

“Hopefully, the government will do something in order to reduce the pollution during the visit,” he said.

The head of the Environmental Service of Jakarta, Asep Kuswanto, said no specific plans for curbing air pollution had been made for the pope’s visit.

Still, it appeared that some measures had been taken to protect the pope’s health. Francis was not expected to visit Flores, a predominantly Catholic Indonesian island.

“His health condition doesn’t permit him to go all that way,” said Father Solo, originally from Flores. “We have to be very prudent.”

Ismail Cawidu, a senior official at Istiqlal Mosque in Jakarta, an important stop on the visit, said that the pope would not tour the inside of the mosque but instead meet other religious leaders at a plaza outside.

Mr. Ismail said they had asked the Vatican if the pope could cross the “tunnel of friendship” that connects the mosque, Southeast Asia’s largest, with a Catholic cathedral but were still awaiting a response.

What can we expect from the trip?

Indonesia has a large Christian population, with a lively Catholic community. The country has been considered an example of interfaith tolerance but is still facing challenges to its image, as extremist Islamic groups have exerted growing pressure on other religions.

The pope’s visit to the Istiqlal mosque will include a meeting with representatives of the country’s officially recognized religions — Islam, Buddhism, Confucianism, Hinduism and Catholic and Protestant Christianity. He will also celebrate Mass at a stadium in the city, where tens of thousands are likely to attend.

Papua New Guinea, where more than 800 languages are spoken, is one of the world’s poorest countries, and Pope Francis “wants to send a message that he can reach everyone, that nobody is too far away,” Father Criveller said. After spending most of next weekend in Port Moresby, the capital, Francis will fly north to the coastal town of Vanimo, and he may address the issue of protecting nature from extractive businesses and the effects of climate change.

In East Timor, Asia’s newest nation and the only predominantly Catholic country on the trip, Francis is to follow in the footsteps of John Paul II, who also visited the conflict-scarred nation. Francis may face questions over the scandal involving Carlos Ximenes Belo , a Nobel-winning bishop and independence hero who the Vatican acknowledged had sexually abused young boys.

In Singapore, an economic powerhouse with a blend of Asian ethnicities and religions, Francis will witness one of the world’s most diverse societies up close, as well as a small but dynamic Catholic community, where the faithful still crowd pews.

  21. EF Go Ahead Tours

ok so for curiosity I did go to the BBB website and see that Go ahead tours has a A+ rating with posters giving it a 3.7 out of 5. Not bad.
