Charlie Puth Kicks Off Summer Tour: See The Setlist

Charlie Puth is officially on tour! This weekend, the hitmaker warmed up for his forthcoming Charlie The Live Experience Tour by performing at the 2023 Festival Corona Capital in Guadalajara, Mexico on Saturday, May 20th.

The show looked great based on fan footage from his set. This also marks one of Charlie's first live performances of 2023 since iHeartRadio's Jingle Ball 2022 in December . For the show, Puth sang a mix of new songs from his latest self-titled album as well as his most popular hits like "Attention," "See You Again," and "Light Switch."

On Sunday night (May 21st), Charlie will play one more show in Mexico before heading to the US for a 30-city run starting in Irving, Texas on Wednesday, May 24th, and concluding in Los Angeles at the Greek Theatre in July. Fans may even get a sneak peek at new music during this tour. The hitmaker recently revealed that he's working on an all-R&B album which will, "probably be out this year."

Charlie Puth Plots ‘Live Experience’ Tour for Self-Titled Album

Charlie Puth is ready to take his self-titled album on the road this summer. On Tuesday, the TikTok favorite musician announced that he’ll be embarking on the Charlie Live Experience tour this May.

Puth will start his tour at Mexico’s Corona Capital Festival, and is set to make stops at venues including Austin’s Moody Amphitheater, New York’s Radio City Music Hall, and Los Angeles’ Greek Theater.

The North American tour follows his short “One Night Only” tour stops last November. It’s his full complete North American tour since 2018’s The Voicenotes Tour, when he was accompanied by Haille Steinfeld on the road.

Back in October, Puth caught up with Rolling Stone about creating his album on TikTok for all to see. His LP Charlie featured songs like “Light Switch,” “Left and Right” with Jung Kook, and “ I Don’t Think That I Like Her. “

Charlie Puth is hitting the road this spring and created a viral TikTok to share the news on Tuesday (Feb. 14).

On the social platform, the pop star started with layers of roaring applause before adding snippets of his hit singles “Attention” and the JungKook-assisted “Left and Right.” Then, he included narration by a female announcer before unveiling the finished product: “Grammy-nominated and multi-platinum singer-songwriter-producer Charlie Puth presents The Charlie Live Experience. See him live in concert across North America in 2023.”

The tour follows Puth’s series of One Night Only shows at the tail end of 2022, which saw him play an intimate run of theaters and smaller venues across the U.S. to finally debut his latest album Charlie live to his fans for the first time.

In December, the “That’s Hilarious” singer celebrated turning 31 by taking his romance with childhood friend Brooke Sansone public.

Today, GRAMMY-nominated and multi-platinum singer/songwriter/producer  Charlie Puth  announces plans to bring his forthcoming third studio album,  CHARLIE  to fans around across North America with the ‘One Night Only’ tour, produced by Live Nation. Offering 8 dates across North America and Canada this fall, the run of intimate underplay shows will kick off in New Jersey on October 23 rd  at the Count Basie Center for the Arts, before making his way North to Massey Hall in Toronto on October 27 th  and finally, The Theatre at Ace Hotel in Los Angeles on November 9 th .

Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Friday, September 23rd at 10AM local time. The Gap Inc. Credit Card is the official card of the ‘One Night Only’ tour. Gap Inc. Over a week after Taylor Swift surprisingly name-dropped Charlie Puth on her album The Tortured Poets Department , Puth responded to the shoutout with a subtle Instagram Story. He has yet to actually say how he feels about being hailed as someone who should be “a bigger artist,” but it seems like he’s a fan of the project.

Swifties have been closely monitoring Puth’s social media ever since The Tortured Poets Department dropped on April 19. In the album’s title track, Swift sings about an ex whom she recalls discussing Puth with: “You smoked, then ate seven bars of chocolate / We declared Charlie Puth should be a bigger artist.” Although the lyric seems to be praising Puth’s artistry, the singer didn’t seem to immediately react to the name-drop that had the whole internet talking . Puth was radio silent on social media until April 28, when he finally posted for the first time sine his Tortured Poets shoutout. He simply reposted Swift’s Instagram celebrating her album making over two and a half million dollars in first-week sales. Puth didn’t add a message, but the share seemed to indicate he heard the lyric about him and approved.

The Puth lyric caught Swifties by surprise, mainly because Swift and Puth aren’t really known to have any history together. If anything, it would actually seem like they may be more antagonistic than friendly, as Puth has worked with Swift’s ex Calvin Harris and has had tension with Swift’s close friend Selena Gomez . But it sounds like Swift does have a soft spot for Puth’s music, and Puth is celebrating the mention.

The post that Puth shared included various studio photos from the Tortured Poets recording process, which Swift posted to thank her fans for making her new album her best-selling in first-week sales to date . Notably, Swift also teased her May 9 return to the Eras Tour in the message, another potential clue that she’s planning to add a Tortured Poets section to her setlist .

Today (June 9), the hitmaker took to social media to announce his first tour of Asia since 2018. The tour will see Puth perform eight shows across Asia throughout October, beginning in Hong Kong and ending in Seoul, South Korea.

Puth used Monday's moment of celebration to finally (and subtly) react to Swift's name-drop of him on the album's title track , by sharing Swift's post on his respective Instagram Story. 

On "The Tortured Poets Department," while singing about a series of detailed exchanges with a lover, Swift declares in the second verse, "You smoked then ate seven bars of chocolate / We declared Charlie Puth should be a bigger artist." 

Following the callout, fans took to the "Light Switch" singer's comments on TikTok and Instagram, asking him if he noticed the attention he was getting from the singer. 

"SIR DID YOU HEAR YOUR HONORABLE MENTION IN THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT SONG?!," one fan wrote. 

"How are you doing after the Taylor Swift callout," one fan wondered.

Swift's celebrations come after a weekend of supporting her boyfriend  Travis Kelce 's best friend and teammate, Patrick Mahomes. Swelce attended Mahomes'  15 and the Mahomies Foundation Gala  in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Saturday night.

An eyewitness told ET  that the couple "walked in holding hands and they were affectionate all night" while supporting Mahomes' charity initiative in Sin City. The eyewitness added that throughout the night, there was "lots of kissing and just overall happiness between them, the support is there for one another."

"The two seem to be in good spirits and definitely in love," the eyewitness shared.

Swift is set to resume her record-breaking Eras Tour on May 9 in Paris, France.
