Customer Reviews

Starting your day with a good cup of coffee is a must. Starting your day with Hacienda Prosperidad coffee is a blessing. If you’re in the area take advantage of this tour, if you’re not, it’s worth the scenic drive. The tour was informative, fun but also lovely to see the passion the owners Alberto Jose and Marjorie have for coffee and Puerto Rico. We did the tour with our teenage daughter, it’s so beautiful, she wanted to stay. Thank you Hacienda Prosperidad for the experience!

We were a group of 8 person and we all enjoyed the tour a lot. First we visited the coffee plantation which was beautiful and it had many other tree species such as oranges. After the walk we heard about the history and some interesting facts of coffee than came the practical part where we could make our own roasted coffee. The tour was interesting and feels special also because the owner of the hacienda guides it.Highly recommended!

10 Trips for a Coffee Tour of the World

Who said you couldn’t plan a whole vacation around coffee? From drinking fresh-roasted java on a coffee plantation in Java to sipping an espresso in its Italian birthplace, every day can be International Coffee Day with a coffee-based trip. Dive into coffee culture in Melbourne, taste true Turkish coffee in Istanbul, and sample some of the world’s most expensive beans on a coffee tour in Hawaii. Grab a cup of joe and start planning your coffee trip around the world.

Italy – Birthplace of Espresso

Cup of coffee in Italy

A pilgrimage to Italy is a must for any coffee connoisseur. It’s the country that invented espresso and the cappuccino, after all. So, it’s no wonder that Italy has a strong coffee culture ruled by seemingly mysterious rituals and rules. Learn the ins and outs with a local guide on a coffee and dessert tour in Rome or Venice .

Tips for Ordering Coffee in Italy:

  • Don’t order milky coffee drinks, such as a cappuccino, caffé latte, or latte macchiato, after 11 AM. Italians consider them bad for digestion if consumed later in the day.
  • If you order a latte, you’ll just get a cup of milk (since that is what you said in Italian). A caffé latte (coffee with milk) is probably what you’re after.
  • Don’t expect a to-go cup. Most Italian café’s serve their coffee in porcelain or glass cups and patrons stand at the bar or sit to enjoy their hot beverage. When in Rome….

Jamaica – Home of Blue Mountain Coffee

Blue Mountain Coffee beans on a coffee tour of a plantation

The cool misty mountains of Jamaica are some of the tallest in the Caribbean with rainfall and soil ideal for growing coffee. So, it’s no wonder that Blue Mountain Coffee, renowned for its mild flavor and lack of bitterness, is one of the most desirable and expensive coffees in the world. Go to the source on a coffee plantation tour in the Blue Mountains and try a freshly roasted cup on the farm. Learn about the labor-intensive process of harvesting, sorting, and vetting these world-class beans and take home a bag—or two—for yourself.

Melbourne, Australia – Coffee Capital of Australia

Coffee tour in Melbourne, Australia

Does Melbourne have the best cafes in the world ? Judge for yourself with a trip to the Coffee Capital of Australia. Casual, eclectic, and quality-focused, coffee culture in Melbourne is more about enjoying a steamy cup of joe with a delicious bite to eat with good company than fueling up with your daily caffeine hit. Discover the city’s hidden-gem coffee shops with a local guide on a café culture walking tour of Melbourne.

Turkey – Take a Coffee Trip Through History

Cup of Turkish coffee in Istanbul

Drinking richly flavored, unfiltered coffee in Turkey is a coffee vacation must. The first coffee beans arrived in Istanbul in 1519, and it didn’t take long for this new drink to catch on. Turkish coffee culture and tradition is even recognized on UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage List. Sip this unique brew in historical venues and see old bazaars where people traded these magical beans on a small-group coffee tour of Istanbul . Then, learn the fine art and proper tools to make your own cup of Turkish coffee.

Tips for Drinking Turkish Coffee:

  • Since sugar is cooked directly with the coffee grounds, request your sweetness level when you place your order.
  • Swirl your cup slightly before each sip to remix the grounds with the water for a full-flavored experience.
  • Don’t drink the last drop! Since Turkish coffee is unfiltered, all the grounds settle at the bottom of your cup. Leave the last gritty bit in the bottom to avoid spoiling the experience.

Colombia – Bean to Brew Coffee Tour

Picking coffee beans in Colombia

Blessed with an ideal geography and climate for growing coffee, Colombia produces some of the world’s best coffee. Meet up with a master barista in Bogota or Cartagena to fine-tune your palate by sampling beans from different regions in Colombia and discover how various brewing techniques affect flavor. If you really want to get down to the soil of coffee production in Colombia, journey to a family-run farm for a hands-on coffee tour . See the whole process from seed to cup—and you can even head into the fields to pick coffee cherries yourself.

Vienna, Austria – Elegant Coffee Houses

Coffee and cake served in Vienna

In Vienna, coffee is not just a drink, it’s an experience . Listed as part of Vienna’s intangible cultural heritage, UNESCO describes Viennese coffee house culture as a place “where time and space are consumed, but only the coffee is found on the bill.” Relaxing in elegance as you enjoy your drink—and perhaps a slice of cake—served on a silver tray is a coffee vacation in itself. Avoid the tourist-crowded coffee shops by taking a food and coffee tour with a local .

Hawaii, USA – Kona Coffee Plantation Tour

Welcome to Kona sign in Hawaii

One of the priciest and most prized coffees in the world, Kona coffee grows only on the slopes of Hualalai and Mauna Loa on the Big Island of Hawaii. Tour a Kona coffee plantation to see how this gourmet coffee goes from bean to brew. Then, sample its sweet, fruity flavor and see if you can detect its natural hint of nuts or spice when you drink a freshly roasted cup.

Tips for Buying Kona Coffee in Hawaii:

  • Look for labels that say 100% Kona coffee. Many gift shops in Hawaii sell Kona coffee blends that are usually only 10% Kona coffee beans.
  • Buy whole beans instead of grounds. You get more flavor when you grind them just before brewing.
  • Store your coffee in an airtight container in the freezer to optimize freshness when you return from your coffee vacation.

Indonesia – Caffeine-fueled Island Hopping

Coffee cherries in a hand

Of course, a world coffee tour wouldn’t be complete without a trip to Java. Visit the Banaran Coffee Plantation that has been growing quality robusta coffee since 1919 and enjoy a caffeinated cup of java in Java. Indonesia produces quality roasts across its islands, but be sure to include Bali on your coffee vacation. Sample beans sustainably grown alongside vanilla vines and cinnamon and clove trees while hearing about the socially responsible practices of Geo Coffee on a tour on Bali .

Seattle, USA – One of the Best Coffee Cities

Pike Place Market where the original Starbucks is in Seattle

It’s no secret that Seattle reigns as the epicenter of coffee culture in the United States . Birthplace of Starbucks, you can even buy your favorite roast at the original location in Pike Place Market . But beyond the coffee giant, Seattle thrives with a buzzing coffee culture in its many amazing coffee shops . Any coffee-lover’s trip to Seattle should include sipping your nitro cold brew while looking out through a rain-streaked window.

Vietnam – Vietnamese Coffee Vacation

Vietnamese coffee in Vietnam

As the second-largest coffee producer in the world, Vietnam brews its own unique style of coffee that’s well worth a trip. Vietnamese coffee starts with robusta beans, known for their high caffeine content and bitter bite, roasted with butter and brandy. Traditionally, the coarsely ground beans are brewed through a metal drip filter called a phin then mixed with sweetened condensed milk. You can have it cool with ice or whipped with an egg for a custardy beverage. Discover all the ways to appreciate coffee in Hanoi with a local guide .

Specialty Coffee Cupping Workshop Tour in Old San Juan

They don’t always offer this, so call first before going for this class, to make sure they have it available. .

Coffee lovers rejoice! Puerto Rico’s coffee culture is making a resurgence! You can witness this yourself by checking out the specialty coffee shops opening up around Old San Juan.

Due to its climate, geography and soil, Puerto Rico is a perfect place to grow high-quality coffee. While the majority of the coffee farms produce beans for commercial grade coffee products, there is now an increasing number of small coffee farms that are producing small quantities of premium coffee beans. Along with this, people’s interest in coffee, and coffee quality , is also growing. There are a few schools and labs that have opened to provide information in the art of coffee — from cupping to Barrista classes to official tasters and graders.

Flavors of San Juan Coffee Tasting

If you want a quick and tasty introduction to coffee "cupping" (tasting) of Puerto Rican specialty coffee, Cuatro Sombras offers an informative 1-hour class. So, if you want to learn what makes a good cup of coffee and taste the differences between different grades of coffee, you have got to check this out!

The tour (more of an informal class, actually) is conducted in the back room of the Cuatro Sombras coffee house in Old San Juan. The owners of Cuatro Sombras , Pablo and Mariana, have invested in the Hacienda Santa Clara coffee plantation in Yauco, and are in the process of restoring it to its former glory. Some of their coffee bushes are from the original bushes planted in the 1850s. Luckily, coffee bushes are resilient and many of the old originals still produce fruit. All of their coffee bushes are the tipica variety of the Arabica species. The beans from this farm are used to produce Cuatro Sombras single-origin specialty coffee.

Flavors of San Juan Coffee Tasting

I have to tell you that me and Ray are not "into" coffee at all, so we were not so excited we when were approached about taking this tour. But I have to say that we were pleasantly surprised, and really enjoyed this tour. Pablo’s excitement about their experiences with coffee was contagious, and it made the class extra interesting and informative. It kind of made us want to plant a few more coffee bushes on our property!

Mariana greeted us when we arrived in the shop, and walked us back to the classroom/teaching lab. As you walk through the cafe, you can’t help but notice the aroma of coffee and the large red coffee roaster. Pablo would be our guide, and Luis would be the Barrista, for the class today.

Pablo started off with a slide presentation of coffee production, from the types of coffee bushes, through harvesting, grading, roasting, and packaging. The photos (historical and current-day) in the slides were really pretty, and almost all of them were from their Hacienda Santa Clara coffee farm. They showed us green (un-roasted) specialty grade beans side by side with commercial grade beans, and explained the visible differences. And we discussed Puerto Rico’s past and present coffee production, and the challenges faced by the local coffee industry today.

Flavors of San Juan Coffee Tasting

After we went through the slide presentation, we started with the hands-on coffee cupping part of the tour. Coffee cupping is the term used to describe a specific process of tasting coffee to really quantify the aroma and flavors of the coffee. Professional master tasters are the people who grade the quality of coffees. What Pablo and Luis do in this class is bring the important aspects of coffee cupping down to a level that that can be easily understood by anyone. They give you a good idea of what qualities to look for in a cup of coffee.

They give you a rating sheet that is used to record your rating for each aspect of the coffee tasting. Pablo explained how coffee should be a balance between things like body and acidity . To illustrate these points, we where given samples of milks and waters to taste so that we could feel the differences in our mouths.

Flavors of San Juan Coffee Tasting

Then it was time for the coffee. We compared 3 different specialty coffees (one freshly roasted that morning), and one commercial grade coffee.

We started by looking at the differences in the dry coffee, and smelling the dry coffee grounds. After adding hot water and waiting for it to brew in the cups, we learned the correct methods of deeply sniffing the coffee, and slurping the coffee so that its flavor characteristics spread all over the mouth and the tongue.

The goal was to try to judge the different characteristics of the coffee’s aroma, taste — things like sweet, sour, bitter, salty — and how it coated your tongue. We were amazed at the differences even coffee-ignorant people like us could perceive in the different samples. It was really interesting.

Flavors of San Juan Coffee Tasting

After the cupping, Luis made us some artfully foamed cups of coffee, and even made Ray an amazing hot chocolate while we sat and discussed the future of Puerto Rico coffee production, possible standards for quality, coffee farm tours , and the hopes for future specialty coffee tourism boom.

You can already see more premium coffee houses opening up around Old San Juan and the San Juan metro area. These cupping classes will educate coffee lovers so they can better appreciate a good cup of coffee … hopefully a delicious Puerto Rico grown coffee!

Fun facts from our Moscow Metro Tours:

From the very first days of its existence, the Moscow Metro was the object of civil defense, used as a bomb shelter, and designed as a defense for a possible attack on the Soviet Union.

At a depth of 50 to 120 meters lies the second, the coded system of Metro-2 of Moscow subway, which is equipped with everything you need, from food storage to the nuclear button.

According to some sources, the total length of Metro-2 reaches over 150 kilometers.

The Museum was opened on Sportivnaya metro station on November 6, 1967. It features the most interesting models of trains and stations.

Coffee Ring

The first scheme of Moscow Metro looked like a bunch of separate lines. Listen to a myth about Joseph Stalin and the main brown line of Moscow Metro.

Zodiac Metro

According to some astrologers, each of the 12 stops of the Moscow Ring Line corresponds to a particular sign of the zodiac and divides the city into astrological sector.

Astrologers believe that being in a particular zadiac sector of Moscow for a long time, you attract certain energy and events into your life.

Paleontological finds

Red marble walls of some of the Metro stations hide in themselves petrified inhabitants of ancient seas. Try and find some!

  • Every day each car in  Moscow metro passes  more than 600 km, which is the distance from Moscow to St. Petersburg.
  • Moscow subway system is the  5th in the intensity  of use (after the subways of Beijing, Tokyo, Seoul and Shanghai).
  • The interval in the movement of trains in rush hour is  90 seconds .

5 Best Amsterdam Coffeeshops

A guide to coffeeshop culture.

coffee tour workshop

If you’re curious about the coffeeshop culture in Amsterdam and you want to find a great spot to visit, this post covers some of the most notable and historic locations in the city.

Our tour guides are always being asked about this subject, and we have compiled a lot of their most helpful advice in this post.

This guide also provides details about the differences between a coffee shop and a coffee house, what the rules are regarding the use of cannabis, and other helpful information.

For even more helpful suggestions, make sure to check our section for tips from locals and travelers to get their perspective as well!

Coffeeshop vs Coffeehouse: What’s the Difference?

If you’re just looking for a cup of coffee, chances are that you won’t have much trouble, because both coffee shops and coffee houses (koffiehuis) sell the delicious drink, as well as cafes!

However, visitors who want to partake in some cannabis will need to specifically find one of the many Amsterdam coffee shops, as they are the only locations that allow this activity.

Here are a few other details you might want to consider before heading out to a coffee shop.

Why do they call it a coffee shop in Amsterdam?

They do actually sell coffee at these shops, but the reason this specific name was chosen is that it was used as a cover before the legal policy on cannabis had been clarified.

Even though it has been decades since the policy was changed, the cover name for these locations remained the same.

Do Amsterdam cafes sell cannabis?

As if it weren’t confusing enough, there are also a lot of cafes in Amsterdam.

These quaint little restaurants do not offer cannabis. Instead, they focus primarily on coffee, juice, pastries, and other small snacks.

Can tourists visit an Amsterdam coffee shop?

Yes, of course!

Although there have been recent calls to make coffeeshops limits off-limits for tourists, no such measures have been put into place just yet.

Do Amsterdam coffee shops accept credit cards?

Most coffee shops in this city do not accept foreign credit cards, so you’ll need to bring cash if you want to visit.

Are Amsterdam coffee shops open all year round?

For the most part, yes.

That said, some will close for holidays, so you might have to look around for an open location on specific days of celebration such as Christmas.

Is Cannabis Actually Legal in Amsterdam?

Technically, it is not actually legal in the Netherlands.

That said, as long as you get it from a licensed coffee shop, possession of cannabis is permitted thanks to a legal grey area.

If you want to avoid getting in trouble, all you really have to do is stick to the licensed coffee shops, as they will ensure that your possession and use of cannabis is fully legal.

The law requires them to follow a specific set of regulations, including the following:

This street in Amsterdam is lined with coffeeshops and cafes. Image source: Pixabay user Kevin Phillips.

  • 5 grams or less: Amsterdam coffee shops are not allowed to sell more than 5 grams of cannabis to anyone in one day.
  • No advertisement: Coffeeshops are not allowed to advertise that they sell cannabis.
  • Age restrictions: Coffeeshops are not allowed to sell cannabis to minors under the age of 18.
  • No hard drugs: Cannabis is pretty much the only major drug they are allowed to sell.

For those who are still nervous, here are a few extra tips to consider:

  • Start slow: Don’t get out of control - if you’re new to cannabis, it probably won’t take a lot to feel the effects.
  • Ask the experts: If you’re going to visit a coffee shop, you can trust that the people working there probably have the answers to any questions you might have.
  • Visit multiple locations: If you’re not comfortable at one coffee shop, just head to another one!
  • Don’t take it to the airport: You won’t be allowed to take cannabis back onto an airplane, so there’s no point in buying a lot of it, which is another reason not to get carried away.

TIP: As recently as 2022, there have been calls to limit the sale of cannabis at coffee shops to only locals and residents of the city. The stated reason for this is that the city believes it attracts the wrong type of tourist.

If you want to help keep this fun activity legal and safe in Amsterdam, please be courteous and try not to cause a disturbance while in or around coffee shops, as it may send the wrong message.

This section will list some of the most historic and best coffee shops in Amsterdam, but if you want some help locating each of them, we recommend going on a coffee shop tour instead.

No matter which shops you choose, you can usually expect them to have a variety of both indica and sativa strains to choose from, pre-rolled joints, edibles such as space cakes or soda, and more on their menu.

1. Bulldog Coffeeshop

Leidseplein 15, 1017 PS Amsterdam

This is actually the first coffee shop in Amsterdam, so it’s definitely a great place to start if you’re looking for a location with history.

Another nice thing about this shop is that it’s centrally located.

They even have a hotel right next to the canal, and that might be a better option for anyone who wants to have easy access to marijuana/cannabis within a few minutes walk from their hotel room.

Jonge Roelensteeg 12- 14, 1012 PL Amsterdam

If you’re looking for a different kind of vibe, this spot is known for having very unique and creative interior design.

One of the nicest things about this shop is that they offer free internet and are friendly to tourists.

They also have longer opening hours than other locations, staying open until 1 am each night.

3. Grey Area

Oude Leliestraat 2, 1015 AW Amsterdam

Speaking of that legal grey area that allows Amsterdam coffee shops to sell cannabis, this is another great location you might want to visit.

Many consider them to have the best weed in the city, and it’s especially popular among Americans.

Famous visitors like Snoop Dogg, Bush, the Deftones, and more are just another reason why this is a favorite for many visitors.

4. Original Dampkring

Handboogstraat 29, 1012 XM Amsterdam

This is a great option for anyone who is new to cannabis, as they cater to international audiences.

If you’re a movie buff, you might want to visit just to see where the cast of Ocean’s 12 spent time while shooting in Amsterdam.

Like Abraxas, they are also open until 1 am each night.

5. Barney’s Coffeeshop

Haarlemmerstraat 102, 1013 EW Amsterdam

If you’re looking for some of the best marijuana in Amsterdam, Barney’s has won multiple awards for their weed.

They’re welcoming to both locals and tourists, and they also sell a variety of food as well.

As a matter of fact, they’re almost like a small restaurant, offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner options.

The atmosphere here is relaxed, so it’s a great place to grab a bite and some bud.

While you can trust our tour guides to give you a lot of helpful advice and information while visiting Amsterdam, there are some cases where it might be a good idea to get a second opinion.

When it comes to the subject of coffeeshops, both locals and travelers can be quite opinionated!

If you want to see what they have to say, check either the Amsterdam Travel Tips group or our very own Amsterdam Travel Tips and Hacks group on Facebook.

Here are a few of the better suggestions and tips we found regarding Amsterdam coffeeshops.

coffee tour workshop

Sometimes tourists will have concerns about how busy the coffeeshops can get, but as this traveler confirms, it's really not that much of a problem.

Try as we might, we couldn't find anyone reporting a problem with coffeeshops being too busy to serve them.

coffee tour workshop

As the third commenter notes, even on holidays it's usually quite easy to find a table and get whatever you want or need.

If, like everyone else, you're trying to figure out which coffeeshop is the best, here are some of the most popular locations recommended by locals and travelers.

coffee tour workshop

Katsu is one of the locations most frequently noted on various Amsterdam Facebook groups.

A lot of locals consider it their favorite spot, but it's also frequently mentioned alongside a lot of the more popular coffeeshops, including some of the following.

coffee tour workshop

New Times is another popular option, and you can even see it listed right alongside Katsu in an earlier comment.

Of course, that's not to say that some of the more well-known locations aren't also well-liked.

Abraxas, Bulldog, and Grey Area often receive special mentions in these Facebook groups, although they are usually considered more touristy.

If you're looking for even more advice, make sure to check some of these Amsterdam Travel Tips groups for yourself and maybe even asking them whatever question might be on your mind.

Seattle coffee shop workers call 911 when homeless man causes disturbance; no officers arrive

Video shows assault on seattle cafe employees; police do not respond to inquiry.

A homeless man in Seattle was caught on camera causing a disturbance in an ice cream and coffee shop, and the small business's owner says police officers were not dispatched when his workers called 911.

The incident took place around 7 p.m. April 24 in the Pike Place Market area near Seattle's famous Gum Wall, according to Baxter & Frost owner Ian Halcott. Security camera footage shows a man wearing a beanie and hoodie with his hands in his front pockets talking to an employee before shoving things off a counter display, making a mess in the establishment.

A second clip shows the man pushing a movable display case at two workers, prompting one to pull a knife to defend himself and his coworker while the other grabbed a spatula and baking tray. The workers continued arguing with the man, before he left and a Pike Place Market security guard showed up.

"This video includes an assault on one of my employees as well as the destruction of my service counter by a deranged criminal," Halcott told radio host Jason Rantz in an email.

Neither clip includes audio of the encounter, but Halcott says the man threatened to shoot his employees.

"I have to train my, my people in a special way to work with people who are not our customers and treat them with respect," Halcott explained to "The Jason Rantz Show." "But to also say, they’re not our customers and that, unfortunately, they have to go. But you know the level of brazenness. … They’re just, there's no consequences."

Halcott's employees called 911, he said, but officers were not dispatched due to staffing.

"(The dispatchers) were like, ‘No, we’re not gonna be able to make it out tonight and take the statements,’ which is terrifying. My staff literally felt fear for their lives. And rightly so," Halcott said.

Halcott said he tried to contact police after the fact, since the suspect is still on the loose. But he claims no one picked up the Seattle Police Department's non-emergency number. Someone from Seattle PD did connect with him after he spoke with Jason Rantz, KTTH reports.

Halcott said his employees are now worried about their safety, and he had to cut hours because he is struggling to staff evenings. He has been a small business owner in Seattle for 25 years.

"Pike Place Market, this was always the protected area," he said. "This is the heart of the tourist industry here in Seattle. And it’s frustrating to see the lack of enforcement here. Because for about 20 years, pre-COVID, I almost never had a problem at this scale."

Seattle Police did not respond to a Fox News Digital request for comment.

New Westchester coffee shop, slated to open April 26, promotes 'kindness in a cup'

coffee tour workshop

Sleepy Coffee, Too , opening April 26 in Sleepy Hollow, is not your average coffee shop. Sure you'll find lattes, pastries and lots of room to sit and sip your coffee (or work remotely!) but what you'll mostly find is "kindness in a cup." That's the slogan here — and the mission — as Sleepy Coffee, Too is a non profit (501c3) business with the goal of providing training and employment for people with disabilities in an inclusive cafe workplace.

That may mean waiting a little bit longer for your coffee — a sign by the register asks customers to please be patient with the staff as they're still learning. It also means some unorthodox protocol in that once you order, you're given an illustration of a person on a stick at the same time your barista gets the same matching image. Once your coffee is complete your barista holds up that picture by the pickup area — and you collect your item.

Barista Jake Loerker is particularly excited to brew cappuccinos and espressos for customers — those are two of his favorites to make — while Ella Manfredi said she's mastered much of the same and "so appreciates" the opportunity to work here.

The business is an extension of what owner (and Tarrytown resident) Kim Kaczmarek had been doing at Sleepy Hollow High School for 35 years. The special education teacher, who retired in June 2021, ran a work program there called Sleepy Coffee which provided coffee from a cart that her students ran. (Manfredi was part of that staff while Loerker attended Kaczmarek's summer camp program.)

Seeing the lack of employment opportunities for these young adults once they graduated both frustrated and motivated Kaczmarek to take action, just two months into her retirement.

"The unemployment rate for people with disabilities is at about 80% and as a teacher and a person who lives in the community and loves my students, that was not acceptable to me," she said. "So I wanted to do something about it.

"I also wanted to show the world what incredible amazing people they are."

The result is this cozy 19-seat space complete with a large black and white mural of a cup with a heart on it by Croton-on-Hudson native Dillon O’Keefe with the motto "Where kindness is served one cup at a time," next to a faux fireplace, lots of cutesy coffee signs (think "coffee & friends: the perfect blend" and "without coffee I can't even"), warm woods, a sofa, counter seating (with outlets for plugging in!) and tables offering a mismatch of brown and red chairs. There's also a few stools with a ledge that looks out to the street and light from a quirky-placed window behind the back counter.

The left side of the room is devoted to a variety of local vendors such as oils and vinegars from The Twisted Branch in Valhalla and cookies and granola from Rising Above Bakery, a Rockland-based bakery that also employs young adults with disabilities (profiled in 2021 in The Journal News/lohud) .

There's also merchandise from other companies with similar missions to Sleepy Coffee, Too — think John's Crazy Socks (with a portion of earnings donated to the Special Olympics) and items from YAI in Tarrytown , which celebrates people of all abilities — along with coffee beans to go, including the Legendary blend Yonkers-based Double Barrel Roasters created for Kaczmarek (that coffee is also used in the cafe).

You'll also find a bread mix and oversized Sleepy Coffee, Too mugs, with its kindness motto which this reporter predicts will be a huge hit.

Naturally, this being a coffee shop, there will be baked goods, though for now, under Kaczmarek's conditional permit, the shop has limited offerings such as yogurt parfaits, no bake cheesecakes and scones from Rising Above. With a bright and shiny spanking new kitchen, however, there are plans to offer homemade items culled from Kaczmarek's mother's recipes. "I want to offer a very homey menu and feature things that make you feel good," she said.

Kindness matters

Kaczmarek jokes that though she ran "a little coffee business" at the high school, for decades she didn’t really know anything about coffee — and had no idea how long everything would take. Luckily, a lot of people stepped in to help her, a fact that she's forever grateful for — and plans to pay forward.

Paying it forward is another theme here; signage in the coffee shop reminds customers they can pay for someone's order who can't afford it and even pay ahead of time and they'll post it on their wall for a future order. Similarly, if a customer is in need and having trouble paying for their order, they're encouraged to let the cashier know so it can be covered from another customer's generosity.

"If people abuse it, then we lose it," said Kaczmarek who's hopeful customers will be respectful.

A dream come true

Kaczmarek is still pinching herself that opening day is upon her as it ended up taking a lot longer than she'd anticipated (she was first profiled in The Journal News/lohud in March 2022). The whole project was three years in the making, starting in August 2021, with construction and permitting the reason for much of the delays.

The grand opening will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday complete with a red carpet for her employees, complimentary cookies and the full service bar and merchandise open to those who wants to make purchases. Normal business hours will begin Saturday starting at 7:30 a.m.

The Beekman Avenue space had formerly been a vacant warehouse for 20 years. Wanting to get the project moving — and get her employees (and the community) excited about what was to come — she opened The Little Shop of Coffee and Dry Goods in June 2023 which sold the same merchandise she now sells (a sign from that shop hangs to the left of the front entrance). She closed the gift store in January in anticipation of the cafe opening.

Kaczmarek said she feels like she's come full circle in a lot of ways. A few of her employees, ranging in age from 21 to 35 work three-hour shifts — and started with her at Sleepy Hollow High School.

The reason she has them working part-time is so they can keep the benefits they need but also so she can hire more people, giving them each a maximum of nine hours a week.

"When people meet my employees, I guarantee you won't want to leave," she said.

It's part of the reason she wanted to open this coffee shop, the name of which is an homage to the cart she started so many years ago. "The cafe is basically Sleepy Coffee 2.0," she said.

It's also, she said, something she's really proud of and hopes will become a Rivertowns destination "everyone feels comfortable coming to."

"It's definitely a dream come true," she added. "But it's better than any dream I could have ever imagined."

Address: 110 Beekman Ave., Sleepy Hollow, sleepycoffeetoo.org

Hours: 7:30 am. to 3:30 p.m. Thursday to Sunday to start; eventually the goal is to open those same hours on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Hours may also be extended. Stay tuned to the cafe's social media for updates.

Good to know: Down the road, Kaczmarek plans to do more events like afternoon tea (with reservations), an open mic night or bring in a DJ. Eventually, there will be outdoor seating.

Future plans: Expect a program called Sleepy Coffee, Too After Hours, modeled after a program Kaczmarek and colleague Mindy Cohen created at Sleepy Hollow High School. Geared for neurotypical and neurodiverse adults over 21, it will include social and recreational activities such as movies, art, cooking, dance parties and guest speakers at the cafe after hours.

Be kind: "Where kindness is served one cup at a time" is not just a saying on the wall; it's the credo of the cafe. A pay it forward sign encourages those who can afford it to buy something for someone who can't.

Go beneath the streets on this tour of the spectacular, mind-bending Moscow Metro! Be awed by architecture and spot the Propaganda , then hear soviet stories from a local in the know. Finish it all up above ground, looking up to Stalins skyscrapers, and get the inside scoop on whats gone on behind those walls.

Know More about this tour

We begin our Moscow tour beneath the city, exploring the underground palace of the Moscow Metro. From the Square of Revolution station, famous for its huge statues of soviet people (an armed soldier, a farmer with a rooster, a warrior, and more), we’ll move onto some of the most significant stations, where impressive mosaics, columns, and chandeliers will boggle your eyes! Moreover, these stations reveal a big part of soviet reality — the walls depict plenty of Propaganda , with party leaders looking down from images on the walls. Your local guide will share personal stories of his/her family from USSR times, giving you insight into Russia’s complicated past and present. Then we’re coming back up to street level, where we’ll take a break and refuel with some Russian fast food: traditional pancakes, called bliny. And then, stomachs satiated, we are ready to move forward! We’ll take the eco-friendly electric trolleybus, with a route along the Moscow Garden Ring. Used mainly by Russian babushkas(grannies) during the day, the trolleybus hits peak hours in the mornings and evenings, when many locals use it going to and from their days. Our first stop will be the Aviator’s House, one of Stalin’s Seven Sisters, followed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs — and you’ll hear the legends of what has gone on inside the walls. Throughout your Moscow tour, you’ll learn curious facts from soviet history while seeing how Russia exists now, 25 years after the USSR.

Taxpayers will be forced to cover £85bn of losses made by the Bank of England on its quantitative easing programme, estimates suggest.

The £895bn bond-buying scheme was carried out between 2009 and 2021, and had aimed to support the UK during economic shocks - but it has been blamed by some for allowing inflation to take root.

Recent chancellors have agreed to indemnify the Bank against any losses on the scheme - meaning the taxpayer will be paying for them.

Greene King is moving from its 200-year-old brewery in Bury St Edmunds.

The pub chain will be opening a new £40m facility in a town that will produce more modern, fizzy craft beers alongside its traditional cask ales.

The majority of Greene King's brewing will be moved to the new site, as part of a wider shift away from traditional cask beers.

It will take about three years to complete.

Butlin's has launched legal action against its insurance company Aviva over who foots a £60m bill.

The holiday park operator's Minehead resort was forced to close in September 2023 because of flooding caused by heavy rainfall.

It has said the incident cost the business £60m and has filed a claim at the High Court against Aviva for not covering the entire bill.

In legal documents seen by  The Telegraph , Butlins have questioned the definition of a "storm" and argued that a "named storm" had not been declared when the flooding happened.

Oil traders working for the US firm Exxon Mobil Corp in Brussels could lose their job if they refuse to move to London, according to reports.

Under the new proposal employees moving to the UK capital would be expected to be in the office five days a week.

But traders working for the oil giant said in an internal union-led survey they did not want to move to London due to "uncompetitive" pay and a "lack of flexibility", a union statement reads, according to  Bloomberg .

Up to 37 trading employees now face having their contracts terminated as a result of this.

ExxonMobil has said it "remains open to resolving the situation".

The sports retailer is introducing tagging sprays across its stores nationwide as part of a ramping up of security measures.

It will start using SelectaDNA sprays, which can be misted on property and criminals.

The sprays work by leaving a synthetic DNA and UV marker which does not wash off and can be used to link assets to owners and criminals to crime scenes.

JD Sports said the measure was in response to a significant increase in shoplifting in UK.

In particular, it said it had seen a rise in "steaming" - where large gangs run into stores, threaten staff with violence and then run off with armfuls of stolen products.

The SelectaDNA spray reportedly does not cause any harm or damage to skin, clothing or property.

Lidl plans to open hundreds more supermarkets across Britain.

The German discount chain, which is now the UK's sixth biggest supermarket, is targeting thousands of new shoppers as it continues its expansion.

It currently has about 960 stores but is targeting more than 1,100 across England, Wales and Scotland.

In the coming months, the chain will welcome shoppers to new stores across the country, from Bristol, Birmingham and Berwick in Scotland.

In London, it will be opening new stores in Wandsworth, Fulham, Hoxton and Canning Town.

But it says it is eyeing growth in more locations. If it successfully finds a good location, it is willing to pay a finder's fee of 1.5% of the total freehold purchase price, or 10% of the first year's rent for leaseholds, which would equate to £22,500 for a completed £1.5m site purchase.

A finder's fee can be paid to any member of the public who identifies a suitable site for it to open a new store.

Richard Taylor, Lidl Great Britain's chief development officer, said the company was "continuing to invest in new locations whilst exploring innovative routes to expansion".

"As we look ahead, we're excited to welcome even more new shoppers to our existing stores, as well as those we're planning to open across the country in the coming months and years," he said.

Mortgage approvals rose to 61,300 in March - the highest number since September 2022.

They had been at 60,500 in February, according to the Bank of England.

While this is positive, industry experts are reporting that uncertainty over the direction of interest rates this year is prompting caution.

Mortgage rates have risen in the last few weeks as markets went from pricing in a base rate cut in June to thinking it may be August.

US inflation proving stubborn has led to concern here that the path to the 2% target may be bumpy - meaning the base rate may have to stay high in order to constrain spending and thus ease price rises.

Forecasts of three cuts this year from the current 5.25% have been scaled back to two.

Hina Bhudia, partner at Knight Frank Finance, said: "The sun is out and buyers are returning from their Easter break, so we'd usually expect these to be the busy weeks before the summer; however, the uncertain outlook for mortgage rates will undoubtedly weigh on activity.

"It's not just buyers that are frustrated. The lenders are eager to rebuild their businesses after a subdued 2023; however, they are constrained by stubborn inflation and the resulting impact on their cost of funding."

Following Sainsbury's boss Simon Roberts' claim that Britons like self-checkouts...

...we asked Money blog readers, and followers of our LinkedIn page , for their views.

While our inbox was filled with a lot of hate for self-checkouts, our poll of 2,613 people on LinkedIn shows that, overall, Mr Roberts was right...

We have rounded up some of your views here...

Self-checkout is the worst thing to ever happen. Standing like a child with your hand up, one person running up and down to deal with this, underpaid and understaffed. Janice Karaaziz, Money reader
I'll go out of my way to find a cashier, largely because my five-year-old will make a beeline for pressing the scales. I've noticed my local store having fewer and fewer cashiers on - and on many occasions there have been none. We need to think about inclusivity here. There will be some customers who will need a cashier for various reasons, so would expect there to always be at least one on, so stores are accessible for everyone. KaraS, LinkedIn
I try and limit my social interactions as much as possible, out of choice, so most of the time self-checkouts are convenient. Alasdair Corton, LinkedIn
They induce a level of irritation. Sometimes I can be heard answering them back. In general I choose to have my items flung at me by Lidl checkout staff. Siobhan W, LinkedIn
Self-checkout provides a great alternative to customers, especially those with smaller quantity purchases, but personally I think it's sad to see them dominate the front of Sainsbury's stores. In my opinion, it's the removal of one of the greatest ways to provide good customer service. Tom Tregay, LinkedIn
Self-checkouts are great, I will always choose to use one instead of a normal checkout. Some are easier to use than others, the Co-op and Tesco have easy-to-use interfaces whereas Morrisons is a bit more complicated. They'll evolve over time and there's always staff to help out. CG, LinkedIn
They're useful, but when they trigger a "basket check" on nearly every single shop, they begin to lose attractiveness Nicola Bradley, LinkedIn
I tend to argue with them lol. Especially when I can't get it to scan a particular item or you need approval for something so you have to wait for assistance anyway! Plus as a disabled customer I have to juggle my crutch, shopping, scanning and packing. With reduced staff in shops you can't always get the help you actually need. Elizabeth Graney, LinkedIn
Definitely not. So when I go to Sainsbury's I see a lot of older people and no way do they want to use self-checkouts. My mother lives in assisted living and all of them say they hate them. Get a grip, Simon - they are not faster, they are saving you employing more staff. I know my aunt has stood at an Asda til they put a staff member on there. Andrea Robinson, LinkedIn
Robots should never replace humans. Interaction is essential... if machines replace people no one will work, it's a crazy dangerous road. Nicola van Eerten, LinkedIn
The self-checkout is a money-saving exercise. They cut back everywhere. No staff on the shop floor to help. Paper bags in the veg section now cost 30p - for absolutely no reason. Mark, Money reader

Average advertised rents have hit a new high in the UK, according to Rightmove .

Across Britain, excluding London, the average monthly rent being asked for a property coming on the market in the first quarter of 2024 was £1,291, the property website found. This was 8.5% higher than a year earlier.

The average advertised rent in London also hit a fresh high in the first quarter of 2024 at £2,633 per month but this was just £2 higher than the average asking rent in the fourth quarter of 2023.

While average rents have climbed, the property website says there are signs that the pace of the increases is slowing.

There are also indications that more landlords are having to reduce their asking rents, particularly for bigger homes, to meet what tenants can afford.

Rightmove's director of property science, Tim Bannister, said the rental market was "no longer at peak boiling point" but it "remains at a very hot simmer".

We first came across Tom McPhail when he posted this on X...

The pensions expert appeared to be suggesting state pensions were at risk of disappearing.

After speaking to him on the phone, he confirmed that was exactly his concern, warning something needed to be done sooner rather than later to avoid a "catastrophic" situation.

He described state pensions as a social contract – each generation pays taxes and national insurance, which funds the pensions of today's older people, and they hope the following generation will do the same for them.

But with population growth slowing, there's a worry there may simply not be enough people to keep the system afloat in the future.

"There's a significant demographic shift going on in the UK. It started before the Second World War, cohorts of people born in the 1930s have been experiencing significantly longer lives than was the case prior to that, so people now in their 80s are living quite a lot longer," he said.

"But at the same time, we've got fewer children coming through. And so this exacerbates the shift in the age of the population."

He said if he was 20 today, he would be "sceptical" about the promise of a state pension because he isn't sure how it's going to be paid for.

At the moment, the state pension system costs around £120bn a year and more than half of retired people rely on it to make up at least 50% of their income, he added.

Over the next 50 years, Tom predicts the proportion of GDP the state spends on older people will increase from around 16% to 25%.

"I hesitate to use the word unsustainable, but it will certainly start to look challenging," he said.

"If we suddenly switched off the state pension or significantly reduced it, people would be in trouble, so the government can’t do that.

"You can't keep on progressively ratcheting up a more and more generous state pension. The costs of state pensions is going to become increasingly difficult for the younger cohorts to bear."

He pointed to a few ways to potentially salvage the state pension – policy change, more babies being born or people working until they are in their 70s.

"Politicians are going to have to make decisions about how to get out of this kind of political bind," Tom added.

"Time and time again it's just kick the can down the road on the pension question, just put a sticking plaster on it and let the next government deal with the problem.

"You can't keep doing that. So I would really like to see, on the other side of this forthcoming general election... whoever's in power, in collaboration with whoever's in opposition, to just really open it up to some honest conversations about where the demographics are going to take us."

He does note there is one piece of good news: "This happens quite slowly, so we do have time on our side."

Basically, swap rates dictate the pricing of fixed-rate mortgages.

Lenders, such as banks and building societies, borrow in order to lend.

They borrow from financial markets and often these transactions are made using Sterling Overnight Index Average (SONIA) swap rates, which can move around.

By contrast, most domestic mortgages are set on what is known as a "term" rate – in other words, the borrower knows how much interest they will be paying for a set period of time.

To avoid a situation where the SONIA rate goes above the rate it is charging borrowers, which would leave the bank or building society lending at a loss, the lender will seek to enter a "swap" arrangement which protects them from such a situation.

Under such agreements, two parties exchange cash flows with each other. The lending bank will swap the variable payments it may make to service a mortgage (which is fixed to the SONIA rate) for payments at a fixed rate. This insulates the lending bank from unexpected increases in the SONIA rate.

Once a deal is struck based on the swap rate, mortgage providers set their fixed deals for customers, with their own profit margin priced in.

How are swap rates decided?

Swap rates are based on what the markets think will happen to interest rates in the future.

When they go up, so do the rates being offered on the high street, as we have seen in the last week or two amid uncertainty over whether forecasts for a summer base rate cut are accurate.

Thanks for contacting us. We've received your submission.

Alec Baldwin’s scuffle with a loudmouthed anti-Israel agitator at a New York City coffee shop spilled out onto the sidewalk, new photos obtained by The Post show.

An irate Baldwin, 66, was seen struggling with the woman out the front door and down the stoop of Maman, an upscale cafe on University Place in Greenwich Village, after she had accosted him inside on Monday and demanded he declare “Free Palestine” as she filmed him.

Footage of the encounter, first posted online by the woman herself, cut off after Baldwin took a swipe at her phone — and new photos appear to show him snatching the phone from her hand and using it to drive her out of the coffee shop.

The scene from outside Maman appeared to show the Emmy winner holding the woman’s phone out of her reach as she scrabbled up his arms after it.

They struggled down the stairs before the woman eventually got her hands on the device.

An infuriated Baldwin then stormed off down the sidewalk, coffee and car keys in hand.

The agitator is identified only as “Crackhead Barney,” a far-left activist who is known for ambush-style interviews and outrageous public performances.

Baldwin appeared to have snatched Crackhead Barney's phone out of her hands before leaving

In her original video, Crackhead Barney approached Baldwin and asked him to say “Free Palestine” as he talked on the phone and waited for his order.

“Alec, can you please say ‘Free Palestine’ one time?” she asked him several times, before promising to leave him alone if he’ll just say it once.

As he headed for the door shaking his head, she added ““F–k Israel, f–k Zionism.”

Baldwin appeared to keep Crackhead Barney's phone away as he tried to make her leave

“Why did you kill that lady? You killed that lady and got no jail time,” she said at one point, referring to the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, who was killed on the set of Baldwin’s movie “Rust” when a prop gun he was shooting wound up loaded with a live bullet .

After Baldwin got Crackhead Barney out of the restaurant he deadbolted the door to keep her out, footage she posted showed.

She then stalked about outside talking to herself about how Baldwin had “assaulted me, I should press charges,” while calling random passersby racists and “Zionist bitches.”

Crackhead Barney had accosted Baldwin inside the downtown coffee shop moments earlier

“My performance art and confrontational media is a statement about the double standards of society in the US,” Crackhead Barney said in a statement after the incident.

“As the US supports Israel in the genocide of Palestinians, here at home, powerful people maintain a facade of politeness and dignity while we export death and terror around the world,” she continued.

“Amidst mass protests and public calls for an end to US support of Israel, the entertainment industry has been largely silent, and even worse, supportive of Israel’s genocide.

“This cannot stand, and people deserve to be confronted with the horrors our nation funds and supports.”

Crackhead Barney commands an audience of nearly 100,000 followers on Instagram.

Her recent videos largely consist of her swearing at cops and telling pro-Israel demonstrators such things as “You know they’re not coming home, right?” referring to hostages kidnapped by Hamas.

Baldwin’s run-in with Crackhead Barney was not the first time he’s been targeted by anti-Israel demonstrators.

In December, he was surrounded by protesters on the sidewalk who demanded to know whether he condemned Israel for their response to the Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack.

He refused to address Israel, and instead said “I support peace for Gaza.”

“Go f–k yourself,” a demonstrator yelled in response.

Irish eyes smile upon Rory McIlroy, Shane Lowry in Zurich Classic of New Orleans triumph

Duo outlasts chad ramey/martin trainer in playoff at tpc louisiana.

Change Text Size

When Martin Trainer missed his par-saving, playoff-extending putt late Sunday at TPC Louisiana, the Irish lads – you couldn’t really call them anything else, could you? – looked at each other and hugged. Shane Lowry and Rory McIlroy had won the Zurich Classic of New Orleans.

Lowry lifted McIlroy up in a colossal embrace, and the celebration was on.

The duo – friends for a quarter century, nearby homeowners in South Florida and weekly playdate pals with their young kids – turned things around Sunday after a tough start and walked away PGA TOUR winners, again.

“We went out there, we had loads of fun, and we won the tournament. You couldn’t ask for a better week,” Lowry said.

“To win any PGA TOUR event is very cool, but to do it with one of your closest friends … Think about where we met and where we've come from, to be on this stage and do this together – just awesome to be able to do it alongside this guy,” McIlroy added.

For McIlroy, it was his 25th TOUR title, his third in a tournament debut. He now has at least one win in seven consecutive PGA TOUR seasons. Lowry won for the first time on TOUR since the 2019 Open Championship, his third TOUR win overall.

Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry news conference after winning Zurich Classic

McIlroy and Lowry were the expected champions, given the lack of proven winners around them on the leaderboard heading into Sunday. But no one could have predicted Trainer and Chad Ramey zipping 25 spots up the leaderboard in the final round after a format-tying 9-under 63. They were waiting around for upwards of three hours before finding out they would be in a playoff.

And even though McIlroy and Lowry were the favorites, that doesn’t mean the win was guaranteed.

Lowry said at breakfast Sunday they noticed how much the trees were whipping and yet, Ramey and Trainer shot “an unbelievable score.” Lowry and McIlroy were 1-over through six holes and needed to make something happen quickly – and that’s exactly what they did.

“To play the last 12 holes in 5-under I think was very, very good," Lowry said. "It showed a lot about our character and how much we wanted to win this thing,”

Lowry is about two years older than McIlroy; the duo first represented Ireland at the 2007 European Amateur Team Championship. They were European Ryder Cup teammates in both Wisconsin and Rome. And they played together at the Olympics in 2021, something they’re hoping to do again this summer in Paris.

“I know to go back to Ireland with an Olympic medal would be like a dream,” Lowry said.

“I was in a seven-way playoff in Tokyo for a bronze medal, and I’ve never tried so hard to finish third in my life,” added McIlroy.

This was McIlroy’s fourth straight week of TOUR competition, and Lowry’s third straight. There were no signs of fatigue from either man late Sunday at TPC Louisiana, with McIlroy knocking his drive on the par-5 18th in regulation upwards of 350 yards. Lowry, with a laugh, said he wasn’t sure what to do from the position his partner had left him in.

Rory McIlroy’s clutch 72nd hole chip yields tying birdie at Zurich Classic

This wouldn’t be considered a breakthrough victory for either player, given their long-standing pedigree and solid starts to 2024 (Lowry had two top-five finishes in Florida, while McIlroy won on the DP World Tour earlier this year and finished third at the Valero Texas Open earlier this month), but their easy chemistry in Louisiana could be a harbinger of good things to come.

The fans in New Orleans, too, seemed to buoy the boys. There were chants of "Rory, Rory," and there was a story relayed on the CBS broadcast of Lowry and McIlroy getting a standing ovation when they left dinner on Saturday night at Arnaud’s, a jazzy, 100-year-old fine-dining spot in New Orleans' French Quarter.

“It's not lost on me how cool that is. Every time I get to play in front of thousands of people, the little boy in me just thinks it's so cool and so exciting,” McIlroy said. “The crowd really made the weekend.”

“Rory brings a crowd, and people love him. We've got a lot of love this week in New Orleans, and we've had just the best week,” added Lowry.

What now, though? It was a big week and a big win for some of the TOUR’s most affable players. For Lowry, he’s earned his way into the rest of the Signature Events on the 2024 schedule, and it’s “freed him up,” he said. For McIlroy, he had exited big events like THE PLAYERS and the Masters with a few more questions about his game and its overall direction. This week, though, McIlroy reflected on why he and Lowry, all those years ago back home, started playing golf – because it was fun.

“I think sort of reinjecting a little bit of that fun back into it in a week like this week – it can always help,” McIlroy said.

“Hopefully we can both kick on now,” Lowry said of good things to come. “It was great fun all week, everything about it was just brilliant.”

When Irish eyes are smiling, it leads to a PGA TOUR victory.

Oprah with insets of floral tumblers

When it comes to scoring Oprah’s stamp of approval, few drinkware companies can compete with Corkcicle .

The media mogul’s been a fan of the trendy tumblers since at least 2012, when she first gave one a spot on her coveted “Favorite Things” list.

And now, just in time for Mother’s Day gift-giving, the brand has teamed up with Rifle Paper Co . on a line of drinkware covered in colorful florals.

Standout styles include the Rifle Paper Co. x Corkcicle Cold Cup ($40), a limited-edition version of a recent Oprah favorite.

“I first picked Corkcicle in 2012. This year, it has a brand-new cup, with a ceramic straw, that … keeps drinks cold for up to 12 hours (or hot for five),” Winfrey wrote of the original version on her 2023 roundup. “I can’t wait to have my smoothie in the lavender one.”

Now that her beloved lavender design — and the similar strawless Rifle Paper Co. x Corkcicle Tumbler ($40) — come in new patterns, perhaps she’d better make room in her kitchen cabinets.

Should you prefer something with a handle, there are three bloom-bedecked takes on the brand’s triple-insulated Cruiser Tumbler ($55), too.

Oprah’s not the only famous fan of Cockcicle; per the brand, fashion-industry fixtures like Gisele Bündchen, Rachel Zoe and Alessandra Ambrosio all own the original version of the Sport Canteen ($45), which is designed to keep beverages cold for a whopping 25 hours or hot for five.

The collection also includes the label’s signature Stemless Cup ($35), and  Coffee Mug ($40), if unwinding with a warm beverage is more your cup of tea.

To add a cute pattern to any drink, there’s also a Can Cooler ($30) — plus an Ice Bucket ( $130 $104) to put the finishing touches on a backyard bash.

Just be sure to shop fast — much like spring flowers, this festive collaboration won’t last forever.
