The park lies in close proximity to the Vasona Lion Safari Park and is home to many species of deer and antelopes. The best time to visit the deer park is during the early morning hours when the deer can be seen feeding in large numbers. The park is lined with well-maintained mud trails where one can easily spot deer roaming leisurely. To explore the park, tourists can hire government gypsy vans that can be availed for thirty minutes. While the antelope is pretty popular here, one can also come across sambar, chital deer and blackbucks. Birdwatchers can catch exciting sightings of the flameback woodpecker, peacocks and thrushes. While visiting here, one should try to get on to the machan (watchtower) near the waterhole that provides a panoramic view of the sanctuary and the Madhuban Dam.

VASONA LION SAFARI
Vasona Lion Safari Park is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts. The best way to explore the park is to take a safari in a bus or van fitted with mesh screen and spot the majestic lions in their natural habitat. There are more than three lions in the safari park, which is sprawled over an area of 20 acres and bound by a 3-m-high wall. You can also spot pythons and other wild species of reptiles during the safari. The park is a part of Dadra and Nagar Haveli Wildlife Sanctuary and also shares the neighbourhood with the Satmalia Deer Park. Built with an aim to preserve Asiatic lions, the Lion Safari Park remains open from 9 am to 5 pm and lies at a distance of 10 km from Silvassa.

Vasona Lion Safari Park is a paradise for wildlife enthusiasts. The park is known as the home of the Asiatic Lions. Vasona Lion Safari Park, the major attraction, is about 10 km from Silvassa. The 20-acre land is originally part of the Dadra and Nagar Haveli Wildlife Sanctuary. You can take a ride in a van with a net mesh screen to explore the park and see the lions in their natural habitat .You can also spot pythons and other wild species of reptiles during the safari.
Vasona Lion safari covers about 25 hectares of land and is surrounded by a wall of 3 meters.
The Vasona Lion Safari is a part of the 92 square kms of Dadra and Nagar Haveli Widlife Sanctuary. This safari park was built with the intention of conservation of Asiatic lion and lioness (Panthera Leo), track on their breeding and taking care of the cubs with proper medication and food.
This park is about 10 kms away from Silvassa, 15 kms away from Dadra and 12 kms away from Khanvel. Apart from private vehicles, many government buses run everyday between Khanvel, Silvassa town and the Safari park. Auto rickshaws will also come to your rescue and take you back to the main town. Tourists are advised to carry their own food and water, as Vasona Safari Park has no food stalls inside the enclave.
